LD38 — A Small World

All The Way Down by luthwyhn 2017-05-20T01:20:23Z

pretty cool i'm guessing you wrote this from scratch. If so that's pretty good. tho i felt it was lacking in content and could have been polished more. but if you had to ask me, i'd say to learn to code in an engine (such as unity or unreal) or to make your own a couple months before ludum dare so you can create content faster. also the game would have looked so much better if you rendered the sprites to a point. well that's about all i have to say good job and i look forward to seeing you in future ludum dare competitions. also if you want to try my game here it is

game : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/whats-left

Yours by binaryferret 2017-05-18T19:53:02Z

The simplistic graphics paired with the soft music gave off a nice vibe And the attention to detail was clearly visible. The only problem i had with the game was the sculpting mode it felt a little lacking .when it comes to content i felt you could get more done and i think you should work on your time management in the next ludum dare.

Murder Mitosis by _for_science 2017-05-19T01:38:53Z

BEST GAME I'VE PLAYED YET. tho i mastered the game after 30 minutes of playing so it would be nice if there was a difficult setting for solo mode. also if you could rate my game i'd really appreciate it https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/whats-left

Space Pow Collins by wisstopher 2017-05-19T00:34:23Z

The art style was nice and i like the text. but it's very hard for someone who never played a text adventure to pick up. I was hoping you could post the basic commands somewhere.

BoilerMan by Wekaj 2018-08-14T02:39:43Z

amazing you made the game I never knew I needed. It was fun to figure out how to play. Favorite game so far.

BoilerMan by Wekaj 2018-08-14T04:28:59Z

@wekaj yeah I love this game great job. I do wish the difficulty wouldn't accelerate so quickly because I enjoy the crafting side. Edit: also keep the cryptic tutorial I think it adds to the charm of the game and evokes the feeling of discovery.

BoilerMan by Wekaj 2018-08-14T23:01:20Z

yay let me know when you finish it i'd love to play it.

BoilerMan by Wekaj 2018-09-05T08:45:42Z

This was my favorite game, I thought for sure it was top 100! Great job though.

Better Than Thanos by Vekstr 2018-08-14T18:50:58Z

Some screen shake and physics for the buildings when they're destroyed would make it just that little bit more engaging. It also wasn't challenging if you upped the brush size and it was impossible if you didn't. If you worked on this bit more this game could be pretty fun.

Artemisa by Alexei Jilinskiy 2018-08-14T21:14:32Z

The ganky camera ruined this game for me. Which sucks because it looked awesome. I also had a bad camera system with my game but it was so cool I wanted to keep it. in the end I made the decision to remove it. I Don't know it didn't work well for me and It was confusing to move around I ended up staying still and shooting in circles.

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-13T18:58:02Z

@tinamil I'm so sorry the links are working now.

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-13T18:58:40Z

@vivek-sharma20 I am sorry the links are working now.

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-13T19:17:18Z

Thanks @vivek-sharma20 I wanted there to a bit of chance in the game So that's why it's a bit "flimsy" feeling. Thanks for giving It another shot.

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-13T20:01:26Z

@Tinamil Thanks for giving the game another chance. when the game over screen pops up it shows your score I should have changed the color to make it stand out more. Thanks for playing.

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T03:11:23Z

@wekaj good Idea I didn't think of that

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T04:16:38Z

@yukki Thank you very much.

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T19:26:47Z

@haj It was just random. Thanks for playing

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T19:30:16Z

@kpded yeah I wanted the game to be slightly different each time you play and the randomness ended up being really fun so is sort of just stuck. Thanks for playing

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T20:18:41Z

@antonsem there is score after you die but as you said the font is hard to read and it's the same color as other text. Thanks for playing

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T20:20:13Z

@jesusache Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed. You made my day.

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T21:54:28Z

@nerzal the volume doesn't scale very well it's not necessary a bug but I don't completely understand how sound works in game engines yet. Thanks for playing

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T22:14:03Z

@cohav0310 if you've played any of my last ludum dare games this game would seem like a walk in the park XD I generally like making difficult games especially since "Getting over it" was released. I'm sorry if the difficulty ruined the game for you. I was trying to get just the right balance but I ran out of time. Thanks for playing.

Hell's Janitor by Happy 2018-08-14T00:17:47Z

This game is awesome but a fix for the small screen would be nice. also Enemies getting stuck to you and do like a million damage to fix this you should add knock back to the player or kill the enemy when it touches the player. I really like this game but these few problems kind of ruin it for me. The combat is really fun and challenging though.

Hell's Janitor by Happy 2018-08-14T00:59:44Z

@Happy thanks didn't know

Hell's Janitor by Happy 2018-08-14T01:09:56Z

also forgot to mention I like your "people die when they are killed" reference.

Panic attack! At the party by Rammy294 2018-08-14T03:33:17Z

For your first ludum dare this is pretty good. however, I would change it to where people are slowly added to the room

Panic attack! At the party by Rammy294 2018-08-14T17:28:24Z

@rammy294 yeah I thought that might be the case. Try looking into aStar pathfinding and use that to randomize location for the enemy to go to. It would make It easier to add more depth. And it would teach you a lot about coding. Keep up the good work.

Cyber Duck by Coedo 2018-08-14T18:38:37Z

I really enjoy the movement in this game. I couldn't tell if the spinning electric ball was a boss or not though so it just ate my health until I died. Good game overall though.

Cherrytales - Cherryboy and Briar Princess by Beebo Studios 2018-08-14T20:43:35Z

I really liked the art it made the game feel like a story book. The controls were a bit weird but the game itself was fun and I did eventually beat it. Great job.

Shrinking Dungeon by DutssZ 2018-08-14T01:19:59Z

yeah try itch.io

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-14T22:08:55Z

There were a few bugs, one I can't turn in one direction forever it will stop you after about 360 degrees. and there were some visual bugs here and there to. Also I didn't know what I was supposed to do in the game and I didn't feel like i accomplished anything by the end of it. The game was fun enough to keep me playing till the end but it was missing something. any way good job.

Goo'N'Ghosts by Wr4thon 2018-08-14T18:08:15Z

It's not playable jump doesn't work

Will Survive by foxserranu 2018-08-13T23:37:33Z

Everything that makes up this game is really good from the art, to the music, and theme implementation. With an exception for the main game loop. It feels as if it's missing something. A few quality of life things could also be added such as a main menu and a way to leave the game. But over all amazing job.

Block Smash - Ludum Dare 42 Entry by vivek.sharma20 2018-08-13T19:10:28Z

I would have Liked it if it slowly sped up over time. Also as others were pointing out the flashing blocks were a bit of an eye strain but besides that the art is nice. Good job.

I noticed You checked out my game when the links were broken I would appreciate it if You'd give it another shot. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/re-growth

Zero G Hero by dave_troyer 2018-08-13T23:56:37Z

Very challenging it was also hard to tell what the power ups did. Also I like how you made sure the player knew how you intergrated the theme in the intro scene/paper. Overall pretty fun good job.

NO SPACE FOR A NAME by Gaweringo 2018-08-14T17:54:26Z

Over all pretty good it did feel a bit lacking in terms of gameplay. as once you find both shiny things the game becomes pretty easy. I think you should've spent less time on the hide and seek and more time on the puzzle side with the shrink and grow concept. also I think the visual effects were a bit overdone as they generally look better when they're a bit more subtle. but that's just my opinion. Great job.

NO SPACE FOR A NAME by Gaweringo 2018-08-14T20:51:47Z

@gaweringo I also forgot to say I like the name of the game;)

Hope of Humanity is done.. 1st Successful LD by luckyDaisy 2018-08-13T23:48:05Z

Really fun good job. I know i've been programming for several years but I still can't type that fast. Also you turned off music even though you had music. I wanted to vote on it :(

Void Incoming by Purrfexionator 2018-08-14T00:57:41Z

Good job, if you clean up the art, add some polish, and 500 levels you could sell it as a full game on steam. These were like mini action puzzles really fun. It took me awhile to beat the game. Though I wish some of the levels would have the void come in from just one side or have it take on a different form Just to switch it up a bit. Also the hit box felt a bit unfair at times. overall great job, keep it up.

FlowerBomber by AzStrocyte 2018-08-14T18:24:05Z

This game is just like mine. and the game was a lot more fun then I was expecting. I do wish I could use wasd to move around though. Great job.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Dungeons & Curses by Ogniok 2018-12-04T00:25:58Z

Let me just say wow this game looks awesome and sounds awesome. However there are big problems the curses slowly make it impossible to see and fight so it feels as if exploration is discouraged. The nonexistent visual transition between floors further discourages exploration making it feel like you haven't moved and when that happens it make the rest of the levels feel like the same place making exploration not only discouraged but boring. This game feels like it was inspired by the binding of isaac, but you must think what makes that game fun. It's fun because it's constantly adding fun new enemies and weapons and power ups. This game takes away the fun power and your vision. Now I know you'll say well it's the theme, but I still think this game is close to being a 5/5 for me. What it's missing is addition as well as the sacrificing already contained. When you sacrifice the speed of bullets make them bigger and do more damage or when you can't shoot in a direction make it to where enemies can't hurt you from that direction. When I first played I thought getting rid of a color channel was cool but that just made the game ugly and didn't afeat gameplay much besides making it less fun. Sorry to ramble I loved you game which is why I wanted to give as much feed back as I could. Good job and good luck.

bouncy arts by wowa 2018-12-04T23:26:42Z

fun and challenging. Great job.

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-03T19:22:29Z

@derek-volker Thanks for playing! I wasn't expecting anyone to play until I set up the page better. In fullscreen the UI tries to stick to the bottom left corner that's a bug I'm fixing. I'm worried about people not understanding how the attack works. If you don't mind me asking How long did take you to figure out the controls. Because I do believe the attack feels less clunky when you learn how It works but I didn't have enough time to set up a better tutorial. Thanks again :)

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-03T20:15:37Z

@derek-volker Thanks I really appreciate it :)

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-03T21:56:37Z

@copperaardvarkgames Thanks for playing I'm glad you enjoyed :) powerups are a good idea if I do decide to keep running with the game I will keep that in mind.

The sword controls are a bit unconventional, but otherwise the movement is standard for top-down games. I think the movement toward the mouse would make escaping from tricky situations more difficult, but I appreciate the feedback I hadn't thought of trying anything of the sort.

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-03T22:29:05Z

@borja Thank you so much, that means a lot.

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-05T01:05:53Z

@joker-v Thanks for playing. To make it sword feel cooler I made the camera slightly tilt toward the mouse giving a subtle sway when you turn which made the sword swing pop.

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-05T04:08:01Z

@silvae Thanks for playing I'm glad you enjoyed and I appreciate the feedback.

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-05T06:00:15Z

@eddie-li Thanks I didn't Have much time to work on the UI even though I sacrificed sleep(no pun intended) I still barely finished in time.

@nanocube75 Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed.

@aj-jones Sorry about the camera I was planning on adding a setting to turn off the angling towards the mouse But ran out of time. I hope it didn't subtract to much from your experience.

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-05T07:27:51Z

@natethegreat I'm glad you stuck around long enough to figure it out. I was very worried people wouldn't be able to figure it out I'm glad to see that wasn't the case. Thanks for playing :)

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-05T07:29:37Z

@aj-jones Thanks I appreciate it. I'll be a bit more careful next ludum dare.

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-05T21:32:20Z

@theonethatneverwas Thank you very much I'm glad you enjoyed playing.

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-05T22:04:57Z

@jfraser314 Im sry I couldn't recreate the bug it normally works fine

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-05T22:06:28Z

@jfraser314 when you get hit it does reduce your movement but shouldn't remove it

Crimson Chaos by frostByte4k 2018-12-06T08:30:13Z

@kantieno Thanks for playing. I flattered you and copperaardvarkgames think my game is good enough to continued to be worked on. I don't know if I'll continue to work on the game but I'll definitely consider it. Thank you very much.

Soul Keeper by michal 2018-12-06T00:35:46Z

fun game though it can be a bit frustrating. The character feels imprecise to control in the air and slides off the platforms with even just the slightest tap of the arrow keys, and not being able to jump through the bottom parts of the platforms is just annoying especially since unity has a simple one way collider system built in. There is a similar game to yours https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/soulassain. while I think his levels are more interesting to traverse it also has a problem with movement. I think his is to slow and stiff while yours is to fast and imprecise. I think the sweet spot is somewhere in between. but Overall though very solid game. Great job!

edit: Sorry talked to much about mechanics. The art, sound, and effects are cute and fun. Good job

The Offerings by BlackShadow1Games 2018-12-05T02:13:59Z

Your pixel art is fuzzy I also had this problem when I was first starting out to fix it left click the art in the project menu and set filter mode to point filter. And before you spawn an enemy try:

RaycastHit2D hit;

if(Physics2D.SphereCast(randomPos, playerSize/2, Vector2.zero, out hit)){ if(hit.collider.name == "Player"){ //pick a new random position and try again } }

with some tweaking of this code this will make it to where the enemy won't spawn on the player and will make it a bit more fair. and if want to make the game slowly get harder just have the enemies come in waves and add a few more enemies with each new wave. But besides that the game is great it was fun and was explained well in the tutorial. Great gob!

Since you offered here's the link to my game if you'd like to check it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/blood-for-blood

Death Wish by Derek Volker 2018-12-03T21:27:10Z

I like the retro graphics, music, and enjoyed the voice acting. However the crisp voice pushed against the retro style. I'd put some some sort of filter or sample reducer on it to better capture the retro feel. There is a term in game design called juice or game feel which refers to visual and audio feedback. Some examples include things like camera shake, knock back, and juicy sound effects. emphasize every action with some sort of feedback whether that be through visuals, audio, or through physics. In doing so will greatly improve your game. Over all though it's still fun and challenging game. Good job :)

SoulAssain by Joker_v 2018-12-05T03:21:44Z

some of the icons were a bit fuzzy looking but still enjoyable. The concept is quite genius and well executed besides the movement which felt sluggish and slow. If the character was speed up and slid a little bit after letting go of the input it would feel so much better. This would make it fun to zoom through levels sniping enemies after you got more skillful at the game. The AI also leaves much to be desired for such a cool concept I almost want them to struggle a bit more and be able to defend themselves better. Also the game was so short I wanted more levels and more deeper puzzles. Great job overall I would actually buy this if it was a bit more polished, and had a bit more depth.

Hunger Sings by Swanijam 2018-12-05T04:31:21Z

amazing I want more of this, this could totally be made into a full game. Amazing job

King's Last Stand by Pukami 2018-12-05T04:06:32Z

So cute and so sad I don't want to sacrifice my little critters. The art for this game is amazing and game balance is well done I tried to train the enemies like in black ops zombies but was quickly overwhelmed. The lack of audio was a bummer. So in case you want a quick and easy way to make sound effects try bfxr. The shooting also just isn't very fun I think this is because of two reasons one the character stops instantly which feels unnatural and the input delay for the animation. To fix the instant stopping I'd have the character slide just a little bit when you let go of the arrow keys, and to fix the input delay I would make it to where you have to click, hold and drag backwards to shoot them like a slingshot or I'd make it to where you hold down the mouse and show the charge up with a indicator of some sort. Loved your game overall though. Great job!

Disassembly Line by Borja 2018-12-03T21:45:30Z

Amazing all across the except in on area. Game feel or juice is the audio and visual feedback to players actions, the exploding robots are a step in the right direction but some sound effects and screen shake would give this game a big step up. As I said though everything else is stellar.

PixelEyes by Aniol Folch 2018-12-03T23:28:36Z

The idea behind the game is very interesting, but isn't explored very much. Instead you have a mix of platforming, puzzles, and a shooting minigame? and don't get me wrong these were fun, but If you focused on one of these ideas with the resolution twist this could have been amazing. For example if you missed in the shooting game the resolution could drop, or even with the few puzzle mechanics you had you could have made a ton more puzzles. Anyway the game was fun and kept me engaged, but I was sad when I hit the ending so soon.

Battling Madness by Sykoo 2018-12-06T18:48:21Z

@dk5000p I had no problems with my game in the browser even though it uses both arrow keys and left click. Though it did have problems with UI I don't think webGls at fault for the controls being a bit buggy at times.

Battling Madness by Sykoo 2018-12-06T19:14:47Z

I have to admit I'm kind of disappointed with this one I feel like this was the type of game you wanted to avoid. As it feels very similar to games you've made in the past, and the cards with the sacrifices have been done by at least four other games. However, I do believe you executed it better by giving the player rewards as well as sacrifices to make, but I think that the sacrifices just aren't that interesting or fun and the inverting of the controls just makes a hard game impossible for me. The art and animations are still amazing as ever, the sound effects are fine, but the lack of music just highlighted the problems. There was also a bug when my character gets stuck moving in one direction. Over all the game is good but with two youtubers, one working at unity I was expecting something more.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep the Tree Alive by g12345 2020-05-11T23:11:09Z

I think it would be cool if you had to do it under a certain amount of turns. but otherwise very solid entry. Great job.

Keep 'em Alive: Retro by mobiledev 2020-05-07T02:03:50Z

I found it hard to enjoy this game I think this is mostly due to the lack of feed back which probably also contributes to the confusion on how to play the game. Here's a talk which may help "Juice it or lose it" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg. I quite like the art, animation, and over all astetic though.

Kreep Alive by AViTT 2020-05-12T02:21:10Z

The Games cool, It just needs juice(feedback/game feel) and the game crashes when you try to restart. Here's a good talk on game feel if you interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg

Othwise this would this is a solid subbmition

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-04-22T17:00:41Z

@calcitherin sorry about that it was litteraly added last minute. Thanks for playing

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-04-22T17:06:13Z

@pilarius Thanks for the tip, I just have a lot of school work. so I haven't really had time to fix up all the details of my page yet. This weekend I will be sure to update the thumbnail. also Thanks for playing.

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-05-07T04:13:57Z

@notke sorry I have adhd so I have a hard time focusing which makes it harder to polish everything up in time. the wolves were supposed to disappear off screen. but I didn't have time to add that. If you don't mind me asking what was weird about you experience with the game? I only ask because I wish to improve, but Thanks for playing!

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-05-07T04:20:10Z

@shakedimus Sorry about the sound I was seconds away from running out of time. I didn't have time but I also wanted more complicated hunting patterns. as for the implementation I was going to polish everything up a bit more but I ran into some pretty nasty bugs and my adhd doesn't like trouble shooting very much. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback.

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-05-07T04:21:16Z

@gilesbgraham haha I agree. Thanks for playing!

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-05-11T23:55:39Z

@pete Sorry about the buggyness I haven't had much time for bug fixing. Thanks for playing and leaving feed back.

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-05-12T01:43:21Z

@sohakes Thank you for playing and leaving feed back. I don't know exactly what you mean, the grass is below the deer and is randomly collected with in a certain range of the mouse when you click(there is no mouse hitbox), and you can only eat the grass near the deer. This was the intended design. If you could elaborate more on what you consider to be the issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-05-12T02:07:45Z

@mark-a-pressler Thank you very much. I was actually planning on adding more hiding places with bushes and stuff but like you said that time constraint was on my tail the whole time, but I'm glad you enjoyed playing.

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-05-12T03:43:53Z

@sohakes I didn't notise that. I think it's caused by the deers hitbox blocking the raycasts. Thanks for clarifying I appreciate the feedback.

Oh Deer! by frostByte4k 2020-05-12T03:56:01Z

@zachary-rodrigue Thanks for the feedback yeah there's a bug, for some reason the wolfs only spawn when your close to the areas with sticks. Also thanks for the audio tip that would've probably would have helped alot.

@demandooda I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing.

Sleepwalker by Sheinxy 2020-05-07T02:42:50Z

Pretty fun, Though I think the controlls should be a bit looser mabie instead of having to click directly on your character mabie make it to where you just have to click near him or something, or just slow down the pace of the character so you have time to learn the new mechanics as they come at you. Because I think the akward controls are more tedious then they're worth I get you wer're inspired by a nintindow game but you have to keep the strengths of each platform in mind. Also the free look feels a bit unnecicary and dosn't really relate to the games core mechanics. The art is good enough though it's hard to separate the outline of the main charactor from the background. And though the sound effects are simple, I do love the music though it's very fun. Great job Over all though. If your going to use bfxr try to layer the sounds in the layering tab to get more interesting sounds. (p.s. Love your little pixel art charactor I saw it in another post and I was compelled to check out your game)

Edit: fixed some mistakes

AMBER by cakts 2020-05-11T23:27:13Z

some feed back when you pick up items would be cool the disappearing confused me a bit at first and it kind of takes you out of the experience. But besides that this game is amazing! I think you captured the essence of the survival game genre. Great job.

Highway To Hell: First Person Rally by red-fan-games 2018-04-25T00:01:01Z

First off this was super cool I loved the voice over and the doom style graphics. But the car rotation was to fast and the mouse sensitivity was WAY to slow. If those things were fixed this game would be a million times better perhaps even be one of the better games this ludum dare. super cool over all though I really cant get over the voiceover it was supper funny. I'd love it if you could check out my game as well. If your feeling up to it heres the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

This game was a ton of fun. I love the neat little twist on on the cooking genre. Not many bad things I could say about the game. Great job! I also made a cooking style game and would love it if you'd check it out here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

Hot Meals by Thygrrr 2018-04-24T22:44:32Z

Really cool it took me a while to figure out what to do but really enjoy the voronoi split screen which I saw you got from a gdc talk which was pretty cool. The driving mechanics were fun but the cooking part I had a hard time figuring out I just missed an important screen though. The references were pretty funny too. I did find a bug when I drove of the edge of the map I fell infinitely. I also made a cooking game for the compo if you'd lie to check it out here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

Tetra Dungeon by el-pepi 2018-04-24T05:55:52Z

So much fun though a bit frustrating at some points this is one of my favorite games this ludum dare. The only thing I might change is when a snake kills you it should disappear or go away, or die or something. The snake trapped me in a corner a couple of times and killed me over and over which can be a bit frustrating. But besides that great game there was one point on the fifth or so level where there were three snakes left I slayed them one by one, and was running toward the exit, but right before I got there the last block landed as the game over screen appeared. It was awesome. I'd love it if you'd play my game. If you're feeling up to it heres the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

Blockheads by Ethan Kennerly 2018-04-23T03:02:42Z

For starters I love the art direction. The puzzles are fun but a bit confusing. It was the swamping game mechanic(when you press up) that confused me and it was often hard to tell what was happening. If I could give a suggestion I would interrelate the blocks to there changing positions if that is whats going on, like I said it was hard for me to understand. As for the music I thought it was a very enjoyable and the loop was long enough so that it didn't get old so Overall good job. I would love it if you could checkout my game. Flowers in the frame by oab 2018-04-23T02:30:56Z

Fun game I really enjoyed the zoom out at the end. I can tell there was a lot of work put into art and animations the movement was also fun and challenging. However there does seem to be a memory leak when you restart. Over all good job. If you want to check out my here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

Dating Sim Hell by Cole and Jordan Studios 2018-04-27T22:40:10Z

Oh my god Im so angry why does the meter go down so slowly. I am going to come back and beat this game I swear to you. Im super depressed I couldn't beat hard mode. And why is the character shaped like a cannon if it can't shoot its so annoying it just makes it harder to doge. I seriously played this game for over 30 minutes and the metter is so slow it really needs to be speed up.

no but it was still pretty fun, though needs a bit of balancing it felt way to unfair to me. I mean the first level was so hard I died before I even knew what to do. overall good job though I like the art for the most part too. sorry I rambled, my emotions are messed up right now. I mean my FAKE girlfriend dumped ME. how does that even work.

Crazy Cube by YANIV 2018-05-09T22:20:10Z

Ludumdare 41 - Jellys Adventure by Zerochain 2018-04-24T04:14:13Z

I really enjoyed this game. The texturing is so much better then anything I could do in a weekend and Beating the game was so satisfying. However There was no punishment for the typing parts when you lost and that made those parts feel easy. The hatch part also did confuse me at first but I eventually figured out that I needed to go back. Overall really good job this is my favorite jam game so far. First off what did I just play. Second why was forced to fish with a monster. Third why was it so enjoyable. Absolutely amazing and too think this was a compo game great job. I only found 4 endings so far but amazing job. I loved every bit of it and I hope this one can win. I just cant put into words the feeling this gave off. And this was super impressive as well, I can't believe this is a compo game.

Pivit by travm 2018-04-24T04:47:45Z

Really fun and refreshing physics, 30 minutes in still having fun. Though some music would have been nice. If I may give my recommendation I would say check out https://boscaceoil.net/ its free and very fun to use. I would also make it easier to die. For the first ten minutes I didn't even know I could die. Changing that alone would improve this game so much. As for the art I loved it. It reminded me of a game I used to play all the time as a kid. Overall good job. I'd love it if you would check out my game heres the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

Daxua by mainghia95 2018-04-25T19:43:31Z

Cool game, though there are some inconsistencies with movement when attacking. The text box should have a smaller box above it with the name of the current character talking. Also when you get up close to the boss and just spam the attack button you can still win. One way you might want to go about fixing this is to give the boss a close range attack, but be sure to warn the player before using it by have him blink white or something. Anyway overall good job the art is gorgeous and that joke at the end got me good.

Rhythm Overdrive by Diblow 2018-04-24T20:53:06Z

This game is awesome. From the detail in the scene transitions (even the exit button has a smooth fadeout) to the particle effects The polish is like that of a paid product. The movement is fun and feels snapy. I thought about making a rhythm game too but I dont no how to sync up the music to any game mechanics but you guys did an amazing job. My music isn't as good, but if you'd like to check out my game here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

Peculiar Adventures of Dorothy Hops by detectiveLosos 2018-04-24T06:03:11Z

Very challenging over all great game I loved every part of it. Usually I would have paragraph of things you could improve on. However the only thing I would change is the lack of an exit button. The music; great, art; great, gameplay; amazing. I just want to say make sure you review lots of games so the website will show your game to lots more people. I would hate for you game to get swept under the rug. Speaking of which i'd love it if you could check out my game. Shadowscape by Gonz0 2018-04-24T23:45:10Z

I couldn't figure out what to do so I just floated around for a bit and it was very pretty. Though the controls could use a tune up. It kind of sucked when a hit the edge because my camera went through it and showed me that it as just a cube with render textures so I would apply a force on the camera when it gets to close toward the center of the box. Though I couldn't solve any of the puzzles I still had fun playing it. I also made challenging game if you want to give it a shot I would very much appreciate it. Here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

edit: Nevermind I figured it out holy shit thats cool great job.

Fight For Food by BloooBird 2018-04-25T20:04:26Z

This game is pretty good idea and pretty fun. However there are some problems one being the lack explanation that also being a common complaint for my game as well. I spent a few minutes wandering around the kitchen area not knowing what to do. Sound could also immensely improve the game, of course I know you had time constraints so if I may give my recommendation. Here's a sound effect generator https://www.bfxr.net/ and a music making tool https://boscaceoil.net/ both tools are free, fun and easy to use. Good job overall though. I had also made a cooking game I'd appreciate it if you'd check it out. If your feeling up to it here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

Trivia Monsters by r0bc4ry 2018-04-25T23:00:31Z

Over all very fun pokemon style game. However the art needs a bit of work and the text was a bit small and boring for a game that is very focused on it. I recommend you use the free textmesh pro asset on the unity store. Here's a popular tutorial on how to get started if your interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D33d4w89vTs.

KEYBOARD WARRIOR by croewens 2018-04-24T22:23:01Z

The game was great, however I would have opted for a stationary character and with the enemies moving toward you constantly that would add just that little bit to this game. However I really think it's the sound that mostly holds this game back I know we have time constraints so here a good sound effect generator that is free an easy to use https://www.bfxr.net/. Music would also make the game feel more exciting here is another free tool you can use to make music https://boscaceoil.net/ both of the tools you can use in the browser or download and there really fun to mess with. Over all though you game is really cool I love how most the UI centers around the main character and you used Just the right amount of screen shake and visual effects, I did a bit to much in my game... Lastly I'd love it if you'd check out my game. If your feeling up to it here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

Life Jumper by RobinbyZhou 2018-04-24T07:01:39Z

I will admit this game made me cry. I usually write about the things you could improve on but the only problem for me was the camera at the end. I'd love to see a full game made out of this, heck i'd pay for a full game. Oh my god just thank you for making this game I truly love it. If you don't mind I also made an emotional game (though I targeted a different emotion) I would love it if you would check it out. here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some

RogueFarm by jmw327 2018-04-24T06:23:49Z

Very fun and very challenging sometimes there weren't enough resources to cage them or keep them alive and when the died I felt responsible and sad :(. But besides that the animations were smooth combat was fun. Though I would make it to ware the enemies won't move if your next to them. Because when I try to walk up to them they walk passed me trying to get to my previous position and it goes into a loop where it looks like your dancing with the skeleton or slime until you realize you need to turn and face them. Cosmic Smoothies by tsedate 2018-04-27T21:51:21Z

This game is super fun but there are some problems with colliders when you restart the game or if you go into how to play first. Besides that there is also to much screen shake you should only use that when you hit a space otherwise it's to overwhelming. But overall supper fun good job.

Witch's Escape by cristiano.m.garcia 2018-05-15T05:46:57Z

Overall I enjoyed this game the art was nice and the game mechanics were fun when it picked up the pace. But That was one of the bad parts its very slow paced at first and would be more fun if you started off at a higher pace. Also the counter at the top left started 888 888 888 888 which really confused me. This game would also greatly benefit from some music and some sound effects. Here is some software to help you with that for next time :) https://boscaceoil.net/ and https://www.bfxr.net/. And don't worry there free and very easy to use. Some screen shake when you cast spells would be cool too. Here's a talk about screen shake :P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu-Qe66AvtY&t=722s. Good job and thanks for playing my game "yum some" :)
