The art, the audio, the gameplay was all so effective! I wish I could have played more of it though - the Web version kept crashing. It's a real shame though because this seems to have so much potential.

@optimans Thank you! You can try the desktop version. They are much more stable.
This is a cute little game. Really liked the art style and the effort at story was appreciated. Well done!
Good game and really good graphics.feel free to give my game a try to https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/the-maze
I love the graphics and audio for this game fun puzzling gameplay that keeps players entertained well done!
Fun game! The mechanics took a second to get used to (i.e. directional press for movement/action) but enjoyable overall! Nice sound work, music fits the gameplay. Very cute art direction as well!
The art looks awesome!
Very cute art, solid mechanics. It just needs some polish on the controls to make this a pretty fun game! if anyone reads this after giving up on the web version, it's worth playing the desktop version.
Very good looking game. Great concept too! Even with a few bugs, its a very good game, great work guys!
The game is generally great but I have one problem. While destroying the bash I locked in it and couldn't do anything else. I don't know how it happened but otherwise that's nice, pretty game.
Also crashed on me a few times in the web version. Great groove in the background music, and sweet graphic, very novel theme! I didn't realize there was a pick-up and deliver mechanic with the mushrooms for a while, and it took three times before I saw that I was collecting roses. I wanted to give them to the princess. I liked the briar growing mechanic, slow enough you could make progress.
Great aesthetics!
Art is super cute! Loved the style. Gameplay fits the theme really well. Thought the princess was a bad guy at first, but just shows how clueless I am. WebGL didn't work for Chrome Mac, but the downloadable did. Overall, nice work!
What a nice game with amazing artwork! The mechanics worked flawless, too. At least I didn't have any trouble with the web version... All in all it's one of the best games I've seen so far!
Graphics were really cute! I don't know if I'm too bad or the game is too difficult, bc I kept losing all the time.
Feedback: -> Character should keep moving while pressing the button. I felt a little bit frustrating and counter intuitive to press the button each time he moved. -> Web build didn't work for me, game kept crashing so I had to download windows version.
The game looks really cool. Gameplay-wise, the controls aren't very responsive right now, and the game crashes easily. The sounds and the visuals are really well put together. Great work!
Very cute game. I'm always very impressed by the work that can be done in such a short period of time. Congrats to all the team. Still some collision approximations sometimes but nothing that make the game unplayable! Great work!
I love the art style and the effort that went into the backstory, however the web version of the game kept crashing on me. But the desktop version worked fine and supplied me with an enjoyable playing experience. This game fits the theme very well and the shrooms were a very good idea. I have only one that could be improved upon when selecting the area for the shroom to effect is just a white box, i would have been nice to have had some of that cool art for the selected area, however i understand that the time restraints would have prevented this. Overall a great game. :)
I liked the art! However the webgl version is bugged. If I press space I get a flimmering white rectable. Windows Standalone Version works.
Beautiful! Very Impressive for such a short time
Didn't have any problems with webgl version.. Great art and sound. My issue was the controls, hitting a key every time you want to move a space, I think its better to move while holding a key down, survived about 5 minutes before the girl died. What am I supposed to do to win? The art style and animations are very impressive.
We try to fix all bugs later in the post LD version and we hope to have a more stable web version when Godot 3.1 comes out :)
@digitaldude555 You have to collect 3 roses from the rose bushes and give them to the princess. Do this 3 times to win the game. When the princess is in panic, move towards her to cut away the briars under her or throw a mushroom on her.
I really like the art and concept! Unfortunately, there were a lot of bugs in the webgl version that prevented it from being playable there. You frequently get stuck in between grid spaces and then the graphics don't update.
A really cute little game :) Didn't really understand the controls and it felt a bit weird to have to press the arrowkeys for every time you wanted to make the character move, but overall it was fun :)
I really liked the art it made the game feel like a story book. The controls were a bit weird but the game itself was fun and I did eventually beat it. Great job.
Wow, this game is really beautiful! :astonished:
This game looks cool but i just cant figure out how to play it :D
i wasnt able to play it
Amazing! I love this game! <3
@mero Can you be a little bit more precise, please? :)
@Beebo-Studios first i spent 5 min clicking with my mause on START button and thought is buged :id: than when i finaly figured out i should press space i buged the game by going left. Game doesnt engage player in what is happening. I think taht princes should give player hints and beg for help taht would be helpfull. Show player how to play the game in game not before ir ;)
i was able to play for a little while but then the character stopped moving when i tried to press arrow keys. i would have liked to play for longer but could not
The idea is smart, it's simple and efficient, I really liked that ! I'm very impressed by the beautiful beautifulness of your game, and even more by the idle animations that were just enough to make the scene live, good job ! The tale aspect is nice too, but I would have like hints in the game itself (I didn't get why the princess screamed and why I was loosing for quite some tries). That being said, the sound and music are great, the art is heart melting, it's a great jam game ! Congratulations !
@mero Thank you! Yes, the game is completely keyboard controlled. If you have trouble with the web version, try the desktop version. There are some bugs as well, but it's more stable, because the Godot web exporter is not that good at the moment. And we wanted to implement a tutorial etc. but we ran out of time on that. If the princess is in danger, she has a panic animation.
@leviathon Sorry to hear. Maybe you can try the desktop version? Or just restart the game. Maybe it's a rare bug.
@eryph Thank you! We know that the game is not polished and is lacking some in-game-instructions. We had not enough time to add these features. But great that you enjoyed the game anyway :)
Nice Entry, truth is that I had to switch to desktop version, but I think you did good job! Nice idea and use of the theme
Nice little game. It took some retries to understand how the game works, but then it was fun! Very well done! :)
Hey this was fun! The sound effects get a little weird when you are on the bottom of the map. Overall good job. I think the grid movement maybe should have worked if you just held a direction. That probably would have helped the flow.
Really attractive graphics: the game looks like more than 72 hours to me. I enjoyed the jazzy music. I wish I could move continuously instead of one square at a time. If the character were always running and clicking/tapping could guide direction and attacks, I would play this game on my phone while waiting for public transit. That's when I spend the most time playing games. I liked being able to direct the blast of the mushrooms. Very nice!
Yes, tutorial would be nice. I relaunched the game multiple times since every time I read the comments I learned that I have missed something from the game. Nice visuals btw.
First off, please please please make an adventure story-based game about these two please. I want to see them have a magical adventure escaping her Father's clutches. I would pay actual, real money for a real game.
Now! Onto the entry! It was super nice. I've seen variations on this mechanic, but I think this was definitely the most well executed and enjoyable. The controls took me a while to figure out, and when I did it felt quite hard. I would have really liked it if I could hold the buttons down to move because that was kinda tiring ater a while. Once I did understand it was a frantic experience, pretty much just keeping it clear enough so that I was always in range to clear the roots from Briar when she got hit. Some indication as to how long I had to hold out would have been really helpful.
The actual gameplay was compelling but a little reptitive for the amount of time I had to wait out. But I did it because after failing twice I couldn't bear to not see the two emerge happily ever after. I was proud to have achieved that.
The audio was adorable and simple, music lovely. The art, as everyone else has said, was drop dead gorgeous and adorable and perfect. I loved everything, especially the two heroes. I would have loved to seen more of Lord Thorn. It's amazing.
4/5 for sure.
Again, please make an adventure game about them :D
EDIT: Sorry for the extra empty comments, it didn't send, then spammed a bunch of empty comments and I can't delete them :(
