Ice n Fire by Jiri_One 2018-08-14T12:12:23Z
The graphics are nice, and the game plays really smoothly. I like how the bullets leave an ice trail that blocks passage. Could use some character animations. Why are the enemies dabbing?

The graphics are nice, and the game plays really smoothly. I like how the bullets leave an ice trail that blocks passage. Could use some character animations. Why are the enemies dabbing?
@jiri-one I thought it was really funny actually xD
Damn that was a nice puzzle game. I think this is my favorite game from this jam so far! :D No complaints! (Took me 10 minutes to find the solution to the flag puzzle but it exists and I am so glad I found it!)
That was a really funny game xD I really like the idea, simple but effective. I found no bugs, its just frustrating that you have no way to know how many chickens are left on the boat, but I guess that's part of the surprise. Yarrrrrr!
This game looks really good and plays really well. I have found no bugs so far. I love that you can change the skin of the character! Addictive and fun! Great work!
The game is very well put together. The controls are a bit hard to master. The audio and visuals are pretty smooth, and that sun just looks so evil. Physics are great. Overall, very good game.
Really nice game! I like the challenges, like not colliding with other satellites when launching them. The rate at which the orbits spin is a bit inconsistent tho, idk if that was intended.
I really like the concept, it's very creative and the story is interesting. I did get stuck when I tried to interact with lucy after getting my phone back.
It's well put together but needs a better learning curve and balancing.
The game plays really smoothly, and it looks amazing. Unfortunatelly I could not get past the third level, I kept getting impaled by the spikes. The atmosphere was really good. (Edit: I just realized you can dash...)
idk why but the menu buttons don't work for me
@Vekstr Thanks for the fix! I like the game. It definitelly makes me feel more empathetic towards Thanos xD I found no bugs and the gameplay is really challenging and really smooth. I would like to see more features, like maybe powerups or meteors or something like that. Great work!
The game is really well put together, with really good visuals. The control response is pretty good, although I think this game is a bit unforgiving. I was unable to hit the boss even once :( I'm bad at "hitting on girls"
Really nice! The sounds the guy makes are hillarious. The game is really well put together!
Nice game! Really puts the size of our human lives and our planet into perspective. Ps: And you made the Earth flat because of course you had to..
I really liked this game. The gameplay experience is solid, very well put together. The concept is very simple but fun and challenging. I felt like the camera movement was a bit weak though. Overall realy cute game :)
I enjoyed this game! I liked the TNT blocks, but it was easy to get stuck. I was also able to sometimes abuse the game's phisics anc climb out of holes by getting stuck to the wall. I also think the game's framerate could be optimized.
I enjoyed this game! It's hard to remember to do all the things you're told to do, but it's really well put together overall. Great work!
The game works pretty well. I like how there's different damage depending on where I hit the zombies. Also pretty challenging to always collect enough ammo. Overall a nice game.
@joedb100 Thanks! That is weird, I will have to check that later. Right now the character info doesn't update as it should.
@vekstr Yea, sorry about that. The game plays better in fullscreen. The road is divided into segments, at each segment it eats away 1 provision or 25% of your hunger if no provisions.
@jackyjjc When you defeat enemies it was supposed to give you loot but I did not have time to add that feature xD
@vekstr Ambush needs work. The numbers are supposed to be the damage dealt but it doesn't explain right now who is dealing it and who is taking it..
@ukirain @joedb100 Yea that is a bug I need to fix. Sorry about that :( Dragging the item into the slot just deletes the item. The only way to equip it right now is by clicking on them.
@corbak Thank you :D Yea that is a shame, and I don't think I can add that until this phase is over :(
@talia Thank you :) This game right now only has 50% of the features I had planned for it xD
@mashas Thank you :) I never played Oregon Trail but the premise is very similar I'm sure. The wheels are rotating because it took me less time to animate xD
@carystringfield Thanks :D Yea currently you have to buy all the food you need at the beginning
@jamesolivermusic Yea I had no time to add music and ambient sfx unfortunately :( Thanks for the feedback! :)
@andrey-ugolnik Thanks :)
@randdir Thank you :D I will see about that, sorry!
@bichodust I'm glad you enjoyed the game :D And those disappearing item are a bug right now
@jorge-baptista @zessirb Thanks for the feedback! :D
@colletto-gregory Thanks! Yes, I want to implement all you said and more ;) The game would look much better when finished
@manusaiz Thanks for the feedback! Did the club actually disappear or did you sell it? Many of the "bugs" are actually just badly coded features or lack of instructions I think. I will fix those things in the next version of the game.
@kingdork Thanks man :)
@greenandsubmarine Thank you! I will fix that soon :)
The game looks really cool. Gameplay-wise, the controls aren't very responsive right now, and the game crashes easily. The sounds and the visuals are really well put together. Great work!
I wish I had the power to throw infinite hard disks IRL.. The game is actually really challenging and simple, I like it!
Fun game! An interesting take on the simcity tycoon type games. It's kind of funny that for a split second you see the meteors bounce off of the ground xD
I'd also like it more if the camera angle was more of a bird's eye view, right now it's a little hard to build things on squares that are covered by another building.
Really fun game! One question though: how do you see how many lives/HP you have?
The game is fun. The concept is really unique. There are a lot of things you have to think about at the same time. Also I think the screen may be cut off at the top and bottom, or else there is no way to keep track of your score in real time. Overall, cool game!
This is a really cool game! Only negative is that there isn't more to it. This deserves more puzzles!
really cool puzzle game, and very unique idea. it's pretty trippy xD
I'm impressed on the level of detail the sprites have, beautiful game! The controls are really smooth, but the character seems to glide off of edges a little too easily, which can be a bit frustrating in parkour.
I discovered a bug where if you fall off of the cliff in the water level, you don't respawn.
Great game!
It's a cool idea. The game is really buggy at the moment though. Ship keeps shaking and moving on its own. Also moves outside of view sometimes. Music is a bit repetitive. Other than that, a pretty clean game!
@harsh-bawari I think it's considered a bug fix, but I'm not sure. The rules say you can fix bugs..
Nice game! I love the 80s vibe and wireframe graphics. I have a few suggestions: I did not understand how the points work in this game, does it have to do with the speed? I think there should be better feedback for that. I feel like the game gets a little repetitive, I would like some more challenges, or something else other than "how fast can you press the spacebar". I also found it difficult to read the UI with the amount of VFX it had at some points in the game. Other than that, solid game!
I liked the game a lot. It has some bugs, for example you can sometimes put multiple people in the same chair ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) but I enjoyed it and the jokes were funny :)
Really enjoyed the game. It's really hard though, could have started with easier levels to warm the player up. The accuracy is also a bit frustrating. Overall it has potential!
I like the game. Its a bit confusing to tell which character I'm playing as at first. I also don't understand how to select suspects. Definitely needs more instructions.
Amazing graphics. Really responsive controls. My only complaint is that when I "lose" the screen doesn't really show anything, unless I run out of space. Great game! I also really like the atmosphere and the setting.
Wow this game got me addicted. Highest score was 17. Really challenging, really simple and really effective gameplay, three things that make a game worth playing!
The gameplay is really simple but it's really interesting and effective. Instead of "running out of space" you kind of inverted the idea by making the space get bigger and therefore harder to push enemies off of. That was a smart move. I think the player moves too fast though.
My favorite game so far. I love weird games, and this one is super weird. I love it! xD Found myself dancing uncontrollably
I must be soing something wrong, my version of the game has no text. How to fix?
Screenshot_3.jpg
I'm using the Windows version on Windows 10 64bit. I don't know if it has to do with my graphics driver or not. It's Intel Core i5.
Another masterpiece by the creator of Blow the Hen Down? Sign me up!
I found a bug where sometimes you can grab objects that fell underwater. Amazing game though!
Nice game! I as not able to pass through that part with the 3 pikes, maybe I'm not good enough :P. I do find the pacing of the game a bit too slow for speedrunning though. I'd also like to have some kind of indicator (like a progress bar) so you know how long it will take to harvest things. Overall a really cool and fun entry!
PS: There is actually another game in this jam with the same title, in case you did not know: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/blot
Very cool game! Love the pixel art, controls are smooth and satisfying. Only thing missing imo is more feedback for when you hit enemies, and more SFX in general.
Did you actually make all these assets by yourself in 48 hours? Wow. That's insane. Great game though, no complaints. Good job!
Such a weird but funny game! Simple but effective concept, I like it.
Great game. I had fun playing it, and it took a while to learn. Only complaint is that on the browser it's a bit hard to grab the guards with the mouse, it seems you have to drag UP instad of DOWN as it tells you. Was hard to work with, not sure if it's a bug.
Amazing work though!
Great art, smooth controls, love the music :metal: This is my type of game
Wow. Hillarious game xD this is one of those games I wish I had made. Loved it!
Ok, who is cutting those damn onions! But seriously, this is beautiful. I was not expecting something like this out of this jam. Amazing job. I'm in tears.
Please make this a full game!
Cool game! I like the idea of Lucifer taking things from you to let you retry, I however would like the game to pause at that moment because I often find myself dying again in the process of respawning. The art is nice. Great job!
@wie Thanks for the feedback! Yes the lute is fun xD And you can wear the tophat if you use the item. (it is destroyed when you get hit)
@kaiagan Thank you :) Different weapons deal different types of damage (bow has long range, swords instakill zombies, etc.) but I see what you mean. The key was actually an unimplemented feature that had to do with chests, locked doors and boss rooms (those were too complex for this jam, maybe next update!).
@cristiano-t @cowa Thanks :)
@corbak Thank you :D
@adventureislands Thanks! It's really a matter of thinking ahead :wink: that's why it's turn-based
@coleslaughter Thanks for the feedback!
Ok so first off I definitely agree with you on that. I intended on making a difficulty curve but I ran out of time to do so :)
And yes, you have to take damage to face enemies sometimes. I have not found a better solution except maybe being able to turn your character without spending a turn.
I like your idea of different weapon abilities, which is something that I only implemented partially. The swords deal 2 dmg while lances only deal 1. (lances were actually meant to have a range of 2) Bows DO have a range, it just doesn't have animations yet xD.
@gerardb @dinwy @bungus-productions Thanks yall! :smile:
@drtizzle thanks! Yea I should probably balance the game a bit more xD
@kenn50games Thank you :D
@boopsgames @spigaru Thank you :smile:
@one-seed-fruit Thanks! Yes I intend on making a better difficulty curve next update :)
@jevgeni-orehhov Thank you! :) I am planning on making less random levels, with ability to backtrack and loot. And also a better difficulty curve.
@darn Thanks! I did take some inspiration on CotN indeed xD And I agree that the levels are too small currently, it makes the game much harder than otherwise.
@hitchh1k3r Thank you so much for your feedback :D
@elysiagriffin Thanks so much! I loved to watch you play my game :smile:
@falak Thank you :D
@acaral Thank you so much ^-^
Cute game! Love the art and the music. I find it a bit strange that you get points even when you lose.
I really like the game. Funny and interesting mechanics. I'm assuming there's a strategy with the sacrifices xD
Loved it! Really fun game to play. I love how you can raise the dead to fight alongside you. My only complaint is that there isn't more of it. I wish there were like dungeons and boss battles or something. I understand you couldn't do that with your limited time xD Great work! I actually had an idea similar to this but ditched it but you did it perfectly.
(I also would like if you could gain more abilities with the evolutions)
Nice game! Though you get stuck to the walls easily and physics are pretty glitchy too. Catchy tune!
Heeeeeeeey guuuuuuurl, that's a nice game you got there. If there was a cuteness score this would be a 5 star. I just think the game has some collission detection issues. Also in the pause menu the mouse doesn't show up. The jetpack also doesn't seem to work very well.
I also think "Genocide" is too strong a word here xD Amazing game though! Beautiful art!
Ok this was an awesome game. I love the concept, I love the visuals, I love the gameplay. It's so fun! Great job! Do the levels change depending on the combination? I'd like to know the maximum fruits you could possibly get on the last level.
I like the concept, though the collision detection is a bit weird. I fell off when I barely touched the corner of a hole. Also I would preffer if you could turn to face the enemies when they are pushing you. Nice game!
I could not get beyond room 2 haha. Nice game, very cool graphics and responsive controls. Great work!
Great game! I really like the concept and I think you applied it very well. I did find some bugs where the minions got stuck. Also the colliders of the environment are a bit too wide currently IMO.
Nice game xD I love the concept of it, because it's so realistic (except the shooting grandma clones part of course). Reloading was a bit cheap since you reload instantly and there is no penalty for contantly be pressing R the whole time. Also the weapons were basically as good as the pistol so buying them was also useless, my suggestions is to make the AK47 deal as much damage as the pistol on each shot, and make the sniper shoot slightly faster. If this makes the game easier, then you could increase the grandma speed a bit on each wave to balance it. I basically only used the pistol the whole game. Other than that, not much to complain about :)
The minion controls were a bit buggy, sometimes they would just stand there and not move at all, even if their bar was full. I didn't really understand what the order of operations was in the beginning, what each room did, or why I should sacrifice the minions. Other than that, nice game!
Loved the gameplay. It really feels like you're underwater. It's quite hard to hit with those tentacles though, but I realised I can kill by just bashing the tentacles on my enemies. I don't know if that was intended or not. Great game!
Loved it! Great take on the theme. I think the color palette makes it a bit hard to spot the cat against the background, and I also don't like the sneaky spikes in lvl 4 (maybe it's just me) I don't really understand why a viking would be in a jungle setting. Seems a bit random. Overall great work!
Really funny game! It is very hard though, with all the cars coming your way it's impossible to dodge anything sometimes. Great job!
Nice game! It is pretty hard but you get the hang of it after a while. I do think the skeletons spawn too fast. Very unique take on the theme!
Beautiful game, loved it! Such a nice take on the theme. It's like Trine but deadlier.
Really could have used better sound design, it doesn't sound very pleasant right now. Also makes me a bit angry that the sacrifice isn't over the pentagram. Other than that very nice!
Such a cute game! Loved the graphics. Only complaint is I thought the collision detection was a bit strange, and the controls were also a bit awkward. Great work still!
Very unique and well executed game that unfortunately doesn't really seem to have much of a link to the really specific theme that was chosen. Your games are always a treat, Steven, keep it up!
I love this game so much! The mechanic of throwing the ball is fantastic, the art style is spectacular, and the game is so funny! I love the expressions death does xD Screenshot_20.pngScreenshot_21.png
Overall amazing job! One of my favorites from this jam for sure!
Guys! I FOUND A BUG:
If you move Jimmy towards the pins you can knock them all down manually, and then throw the ball and it still counts as a Strike.
Screenshot_22.png
Also you can manage to throw the ball so hard against a corner that it bounces around the room like crazy.
Screenshot_24.png
Sorry for breaking your game :P
Very nicely implemented mechanics, I love the growing/withering animation of the plants, and the music is nice too! I just wish the mechanics were better explained in the beginning, took me a while to understand what to do.
After a while of playing it seems the game ran out of memory and stopped working, you should see a fix for that :/
Great work nonetheless!
@king-kujito I was running it on Opera, I did not try it in Chrome or Firefox so maybe it works fine on those.
Lovely little game! I like the mechanics and the controls feel really nice. At first I was confused that I cold not clearly know which items were good and which were bad but after a while I thought it made the game more interesting. I also loved the little booting up animation at the start, that was an awesome touch!
Here's my highscore:
Screenshot_17.png
This is a very cool game indeed! I like the mechanic that you sell body parts for items and get body parts by killing enemies, its a very interesting mechanic. Relly miss a pause menu though. Also I found a bug where if I stand under the elevator and push the elevator down I get stuck inside of the ground. 1.jpg
Other than that nice work!
Awesome game concept and executed perfectly! Bravo!
OK just right off the bat this game is freaking hillarious. When I noticed that his arms and legs were growing out of proportion I laughed out loud. There seems to be a bug during the loading screen here the UI overlays on top of it. Great work(out) though!
This game makes me feel so self-conscious :cry: Great work though!
What an odd but interesting game. It's very phisolophical and religious, very cool!
Nice game! The controls felt really smooth and satisfying, though most of the times I died was because I dashed into the ground and fell through it which was not very nice. Overall great work for the compo!
Now THIS is how to make a good clicker game!
I've given clicker games a hard time in these kind of jams, because of how easy I think they are to make. I just feel like they're the go-to game for when you're out of ideas for mechanics. BUT this game really knocks it out of the park and probably will make me rethink what I believed in about clickers before I played it.
I think it's an absolute Genius move how you made it so that the player can't just leave the game running in the background. This is in fact not an idle game at all, since you lose if you don't keep sacrificing cultists. I have to give 5 stars on this one, really!
Such a weird but awesome concept for a game, I love it xD Absolutely love the artstyle, great work!
I really like point and click games, and I think you did this one quite well. Unfortunately these seems to be some bugs, for example if you click multiple times in the same object you can get duplicates o that object, which then crash the game if you go to the next room with them and click them. The music is a bit repetitive as well. I also get stuck very easily, but I guess thart's just my lack of patience for these games :P
This is the cutest puzzle game I've seen in this jam so far. Love the graphics and the gameplay is so challenging and fun! Great work!
Very nice game! I like the mechanic of the lives/coins a lot and I think it's pretty unique. The gameplay is smooth and fun. Great work on this one!
Great game! Hillarious idea and perfect execution. I just wish there was more to it but I get you may not have had time. I love it xD Awesome job!
Those squishies are so damn cute. I really would play a full version of this game, with levels and actual puzzles. The AI is phenomenal. I just wish you could select multiple squishies at the same time sort of like in Total War or other RTS games.
Nice work!
I like this game a lot! Feels like a mix between Darkest Dungeon and Undertale is how I'd describe it. That villain is so cool xD Great job on this one!
Holy crap why does this game not get more attention? This is quality stuff! The amount of work that was put into the narration and visuals is incredible!
I do have some things that really grind my gears about this game, but that's because I *really* want this to turn into a fully-fleshed out game:
- I dislike the fact that you can get cornered by enemies, makes some fights unfair - I hate the fact that once you replace an item you can't equip the old item again, it just disapears - Some items get stuck inside walls / fall inside holes I can't get to - I dislike the fact that you lose your armor if you get hit too many times - I hate the fact that you can't backtrack and can accidentally exit a room when you still had stuff to do there - I don't get why armor does not affect your stats and only weapons do, at least as far as I can see
Anyway, that is my feedback. I hope it helps! Excellent work! Would play again!
Great game! So simple but so interesting and unique.
First of all, you have good taste in music \m/
The graphics are cute, but the style seems to be a bit random at times. Why is there a stalin poster on the wall? The game has a few glitches that make it unplayable, for instance I got stuck because one of the enemies spawned outside of the map and I could not kill it: Screenshot_27.png
And holy hell you guys need to seriously balance this game better, because by wave 5 I was intakilling everything in the map with Lightning Fist. Made it ridiculously easy.
Anyway, nice work overall.
I'm in love with the artstyle o-o Amazing entry all throughout!
It's a cool game, I just wish there were different types of enemies, with more intelligent AI. I don't like how the enemies just pass right through obstacles instead of going around them. Right now it just seems like the same enemies but with more HP, and the game is not challenging this way. The music is also a weird choice, but maybe it's just not my taste :P
Other than that, nice work!
Very strange game, but I like it! Just thought the controls were not that well implemented, like having to step on the land to plant something on it. Other than that pretty nice game!
Very nice work! This doesn't look like a jam game at all, very polished gameplay and graphics. I don't really like the UI, I think it fits poorly with the rest of the game. Also that minimap is not accurate, and made me very mad when I got to the purple circle and there was no island to be seen. Speaking of which, I would like if you had some way of rotating the camera, right now it's hard to look around and sail. I also destroyed the boat by accident one time, while I was at sea, which was unexpected.
Great job nonetheless!
Edit: What is that giant squid thing that keeps following me O-o
Very nicely done game! Simple but works very well and its very challening, especially to someone like me who makes typos all the time lol great work!
@gruni @vertuga32 @zhaojun8443 thanks for playing and for the feedback! ;D
@gruni hehe that's my favorite feature of the game xD
@carlosvvk @hexkritor Thanks so much :D
@dziukoala thank you ^-^
@luckfishlai thanks! @banzi yea we didnt have time to implement that but we will work on it, thx ^-^
@artyom-volkov Thanks :smile:
@lola Merci beaucoup ^.^
@wfmg thanks so much! :D
@robowarrior1982 thx!
@adam-clayden thanks for the feedback! :smile:
@fear-games @ryan-wine @spartacouscous Thanks so much for the feedback!
@jharler thank you :D
@gerardb @powerspark @conspite @black-potion @mutt @hpmnk @nandon @sondrian @falsebracket @no-grapes-games Thank you all so much! :smiley:
@stefan-jovanovic Thank you so much! ^-^
@caranha Yea we're sorry about that ;( there is no Mac support for pygame as far as I know. We're planning on making a linux version soon though!
@prizrak-88 thank you :smile:
@ruben01 @pixel-boy Thank you so much =D
@eduardo-yukio Yes we understand the combat is still not as polished as we'd like it to be right now :( Thanks!
@coleslaughter Thanks! Yea we have to rethink the powerups a lot xD. Glad you enjoyed our game!
@lamossus @goosyberry Thanks so much for the beedback! :D
@jeroenpx I think you have to disable the antivirus to be able to play it unfortunately :( Mine (Avast) does it too, and I'm not sure why. We'll try to see what is causing this.
@pl4typus @aeveis Thanks so much for the feedback! ^-^
Noooooooooooooo why did I do that to the poor doggos?!?! D: (Nice game btw)
Very impressive and ambitious for a compo entry! The gameplay feels smooth and satisfying. My only problem with it is I think the game should be turnbased instead of real time, because the enemies feel more unpredictable this way. Anyway, good job!
I like the concept, and I think you pulled it off quite well! I do think that you lose energy too quickly and makes it really hard to reach places (or maybe I just suck). Great work!
Interesting game. Very inventive and good take on the theme! Just miss some music and some better feedback on when I type a letter. I also think the graphics could use some imporvement, because right now the word I'm writing is over all the letter soup and it is confusing. Nice work!
This is too real man. Too real. Shame there is no music or sfx, really miss that. I also would like a bit more personality with the dialogue, like knowing who is talking to me. And also some feedback as to what do I lose after each choice. Nice game though, a good effort imo
I like the idea of the game. At first I did not understand that you had to buy the upgrades before entering the fight and I got rekt.
But it's a bit frustrating that the whole game is just you and the boss, with no aditional enemies, story or environment. It feels empty and lifeless. Really hope you make something out of this in the postjam versions! Overall the mechanics are well done, and I feel you really focused to make thme polished so good job on that!
Great game! Love the aesthetic and the mechanics, really anime. Great work!
Very simple, very polished and very well made game! Nice work!
Awesome game! Such a simple idea but so well executed! Nice job!
PS: If there was a cuteness score, this would get 5 stars
Very nice game! I like the graphics, the gameplay and the sfx, and everytihng is very well polished!
I like the game overall, but there are some things I just was not very fond of.
First, the game window is waaaay too large for my Full HD screen and I just can't see the whole game at once which was very frustrating. Also the sprites seem to be very blurry, I belive you did not set them to sharpen when you scaled them up.
The game itself is very slow, I don't know if it's because of my browser. Also I got stuck in level 5 I think, with those chainsaw things.
The music was very nice though, the atmosphere was well done! Nice job!
Omg why are there bananas cosplaying as minions shooting at me?! This game is so weird xD I enjoyed playing it thought! Good work!
Cute game! I wish there was a bit more to it but for a compo game this is very nice!
I did find that you could hide behind the shield and farm enemies easily if you upgrade your attack range so that was a bit cheap ;P Also the AI is a bit dumb and enemies seem to get stuck in places, you can also attack through walls which is a bit strange. I also did not like the fact that the sprites don't all have the same pixel resolution but maybe its my OCD.
Overall good job!
I like the game, the idea is really interesting and I think it was well executed. Unfortunately it seems sometimes you don't recieve the cards you buy, which is unfortunate. I also wish the game was a bit more balanced, because right now you waste your cards too quickly and can't proceed. Nice work!
Very solid entry! very clean visuals and mechanics, I think this one's really well executed, even if the game itself isn't that unique of an idea, but as a big fan of Tetris and Bejeweled I liked it nonetheless!
This game gives me a deep satisfaction to play. Awesome concept and well executed as well! Really fun to play if you have a drawing tablet like I do. I wish the upgrades kept going and impoving instead of just stopping at around wave 19. I went on for a lot more waves without any reason to exchange my health for any money, which made the game easier. Also the mechanic of exchanging life for money is interesting but I feel that if you can regain all your HP at the end of a round if you want to kind of defeats the purpose of the healing spell imo.
Great job!
The idea is really cool, and the mechanics are pretty well done overall. I like the shroom effect, though I did not understand what it was for. I did not find the attack animation of the hammers that convincing, it just looks like they're spinning out of control. Their AI also seems to be very unforgiving for level 1 enemies.
I found a bug where if you squish yourself into the first bookshelf while you're getting attacked, instead of dying you are teleported into this very strange place with no walls: Screenshot_26.png
I also miss a pause menu / quit button
Other than that, nice work!
Very nice game! I like the concept and I think you pulled it off quite well. I just wish I had someone to play it with so I could experience it fully.
Nice game! I found a few visual glitches, and I think the enemy AI is a bit bad (they run into walls all the time). Catchy tune! Great work
Nice game! I wish there was more to it than just jumping and buying things. Also those jumps were super frustrating. Nice work!
I like the game, it plays really well. The graphics are super detailed and cool! Lovely work!
Very nice game! I like the graphics and the gameplay in general is very fun! Nice work!
Very cool game! It makes me feel like I'm inside an action movie when playing. Great work!
Very well made game! Nice take on idle games, its pretty interesting the concept of "life" as "memories" I like it a lot. Great job!
Lovely game OwO I love the expression the tree makes when a guy passes through xD Great work!
Super well made, very nicely polished game! Love the animations and the graphics especially. Great work!
This game is so freking HARD! I cant' seem to get past room 5 lol. Awesome game though! I love the aesthetic and the sounds. Greak work!
Nice game! I did find the controls very hard to get used to though, and I did not find a good strategy, I kept running into the enemies. Great graphics and sound though!
This is adorable! I loove the art, and the story is really funny xD
I just wish it was longer, and there would be more decisions to make. Great job nonetheless!
The controls are a bit hard to get used to, and you end up failing a lot, but eventually you get used to them. I wish the level itself would reset everytime you die, because as it is right now the coins just stay where they were before and there is no variety to it. I also miss some music and SFX. Good job though!
Really miss some audio and a main menu. Controls are really difficult to get used to as well and feel awkward. I like the concept and the animations though. Nice job!
Very nice game! I found a few bugs though: After like 3 runs I kept spawning on top of very hard bosses for some reason. Also if my HP was reduced to 0 I could still attack and would not die while I kept attacking. I also miss some basic sfx of things like attacks and equiping items. Great work still!
Very cool game! I had to use the walkthrough because I just suck at point and clicks lol, nice job!
This is so good but so hard! I couldn't make it past level 3, just like old-school NES games ;D I can't believe you did all this in just 48 hours that is insane!
Very cool game! I love the idea of accumulating weapons, I've never seen that done like this in a game before, very inventive. Great work overall
Underrated game, I like the mechanics, but the respawn mechanic was a bit clumsy at times. Wish it was longer!
This game is too adorable. I love the little camera movements and the animations! I don't really understand the purpose of singing but I love it anyway. Only complaint is that the music seems to cut at weird times and it kind of breaks from the atmosphere. It's also a bit repetitive but maybe it's just my opinion. I wish it was longer!
This is such a neat mechanic (and so realistic too xD) But I felt a bit like I hadn't properly finished the game but I tried all combinations and it seemed like there was nothing else to do. Anyway, it's adorable. I do miss some sfx though!
@celia14 Yes I did get that, but I only assumed it was the ending because he no longer said he "would keep trying" at the end, but I guess it felt too fast and that's why I wanted more xD
This is such a unique idea, and also this game is so hard xD Great job!
This was a fun little experience xD I appreciate the memes put into this. Very dank job! I'll just say the sfx are a little too loud, unless your intention was earape
This game is my nightmare because it requires me to keep a tempo, which I just can't do xD Epic graphics though and a really interesting mechanic!
Nice game! I did feel like the units could have been better balanced, the gatling gunman seemed too underpowered for the price it had, I used way more of those bombers and it seemed to work best.
This was very interesting, I just wish there was more to it than just clicking though. Good job nonetheless!
I really miss a pause menu or some way to get back to the main menu. Those spikes at the beginning were not at the bottom so sometimes I'd fall and got stuck down there. Also the left wall on that last level I managed to pass through it somehow. The little intro is really nice, and I appreciate the work put into it haha
@technsmile Thanks so much! My objective was really to push myself this LD in terms of graphic design :)
@le-don The purple effect was done by swapping all the sprites with purple ones, I had double the work because any sprite I had to do I had to do one in purple as well xD
@shabbyrtist Thanks! Yea I know the storm is weird right now, the plan was to make it arrive a lot sooner and give just a few seconds for the player to run but unfortunately that was not how it resulted. We also didn't think much about other shelter funcionalities since we had no time for that.
This was so cool! I love the mechanic of adding cards to your deck, it's super interesting. Well done!
This is a really cool concept, however I got stuck because at the beginning the wizard requires the double-jump and it was removed as I fell off of the platform so I could no longer jump to it xD
I know it's been said before but this game needs a better difficulty curve. After like wave 7 it gets too easy and you cna use the same 5 turrets to win every time, it seems the enemies don't get progressively stronger or more numerous. A suggestion I'll give is have the weapon stock more limited each time, or increase the number of enemies progressively. Other than that this is a very well executed game! I love a good tower defense, we need more of those. Good job!
Interesting little puzzle game, I liked how abstract and slightly bizarre all the options were, meaningless choices in a game usually are boring but not in this case imo. I would have liked more sfx though. Still, good job!
I'm glad the game asked for consent first:
Screenshot_41.png
Very nice idea and execution! Very hard game though
This was so good! I love how each item has a purpose and the game progressed naturally without feeling like a bottleneck, and the little animals are so cute! Amazing job with what you did in 72 hours!
I laughed when I gave the princess's hand to the king and he executed me.
Sometimes the icons get covered by walls and pillars especially with the Paladin, which was a bit frustrating.
The game is nicely done, just wish there was more to it. I think that the player character sprite is too simplistic, it just looks like a yellow stick, and its a bit hard to notice it against the sand. Very cool throwing mechanic though. Good job!
I found it a bit frustrating that the character moves so slowly, but the game is well achieved regardless!
Nice little game, I like the concept :)
Really cool game! I especially liked the art style, similar to paper cutouts or something. I did think the background was a bit confusing and out of place, and I did not like how sometimes I'd eat a poisonous mushroom because it was hiding behind a tree. It was a bit strange those arrows that teleported you, were there multiple levels?
Nice game! I like these kinds of text-adventures, the map tied in really well. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617130199
Awesome game! Love this kind of stuff, made me suffer that last level xD Here's my playthrough: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709059
Such a nice game! I kept saying "one more go" after I kept dying xD. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617105088
This game is adorable! Sorry I couldn't play it on stream. I love the unique mechanics of clearing the way for her too! The fact the block placement is impeded by the falling apples is annoying, I personally would have made it so that the apples just land on it and get destroyed, but idk if that would make it too easy. Great entry!
The combat was really well executed, though sometimes it felt a bit too easy. The absence of music and sfx was a shame but I understand there is no sound in space :P Great entry anyways!
Absolutely loved this one! One of the best from this jam yet, super fun to play :D Don't really have any negative criticisms. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709054
I like this game! Just wish the herd of ducklings would be a bit more predictable xD Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617105092
Very nice game! Sorry that I played the wrong version tho lol, Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600651092
Very interesting idea and execution. The papers please style gameplay is pretty engaging and it was fun to play. Here's my playthrough: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/598815067 Nice entry :)
Really well achieved game! The graphics and animations are awesome, the SFX and ambience is super atmospheric and it really feels like you're there. I guess the only piece of criticism I can make is that it's a bit hard to see the wood items on the ground, and in general if you just stay around the campfire and keep feeding the flame you don't even get to see any monsters so it's quite easy. Great entry :)
@nazorus thanks! I belive the wasp spawning is a bug, but we thought we had fixed that...
I'm really bad at this kind of game, but the mechanics were well done and I like the FTL aesthetic :)
Here's the video btw if you want to rewatch it ^^ : https://www.twitch.tv/videos/598815069
Very cute game I love it ^-^ Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600641773
Nice game! Some music and sfx would have been nice. It felt smooth and satisfying to play. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709060 Thanks for coming :)
Very cool game, very challenging, and the attacks are hard to manage, but maybe I'm just bad xD Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599682434
Lovely game! Very relaxing and fun to play for a long time :) here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600651091
Really cool and cute game! Loved the graphics especially :D Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617105090
Very nice game! Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600641770
Cool game! I liked the idea, and has fun playing it on stream. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617105091
Cute game :) You did a good job in the limited time you had, here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600641771
Good game, but it sent shivers down my spine >.< Great job anyway :) Here's my playthrough of it!: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/598815066
Very nice game! I love the idea and it was executed quite well. Just noticed you opted out of graphics, would be cool to see you do your own graphics for this. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709056
Awesome game! Loved playing it on stream :) https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600641777
Cute game! Though those graphics kinda hurt my eyes in the title screen lol The sound they make when they die still gets me everytime xD
Just missing a score too.
Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600641768
Lovely game! Loved the CoF reference especially xD I only wish you could actually eat tacos..
Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709054
Would have needed a bit more polish, and it wasn't very easy to get at first, but after a while you get the hand of it :) Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600641774
Nice little game! Just a shame there isn't much to do after you figure out the automation mechanic, would love to see this expanded further. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709058
Love this game! Those legs were so awesome the way they move around xD Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600651095
Cool game. Very topical xD Makes you want to just grab people's butts and lock them in their homes lol Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709053
Cool but very challenging game xD My brain hurt, otherwise I would have played it for longer, feels like there's some interesting stuff that I missed. Great entry! Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600651093
An interesting take on the "keep the fire alive" ludum genre, well done! Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617130197
Love the graphics and gameplay. The combat was actually pretty well achieved. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709057
Such a cool and interesting game! I'd love to see a mobile version of this :) Also I think I should mention that I love the art! I think I found a bug where the dialogue seems to be off by one room: Screenshot_68.png Nice entry!
Very fun game! Super basic mechanics but you achieved it very well Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/600641775
Nice game! Really enjoyed playing it :D Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617105093
Very cute game! :smiley: Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617130196
Nice game! Little cruel that you collide with even the freaking clouds xD Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/617105087
Adorable graphics and a really fun game idea. I thought it was well implemented too! At first it was a bit strange how the controls were handled and I couldn't understand why it sometimes was attacking and something wasn't, but other than that great job! Screenshot_83.png
The graphics are adorable but unfortunately I am unable to play. I'm using a Portuguese keyboard, which doesn't have a "/" key, instead I would have to press Shift+7 but that doesn't seem to work. This was a really poor choice of controls, sorry. :(
This was a weird one, I have to say lol. The movement of the arms is very hard to control and very unwieldy, unfortunately, considering you have to shoot the Beholder with some accuracy. I would like to see this expanded further.
I am honestly surprised this did not get more attention! Amazing entry, and super unique gameplay mechanics. I love it!
Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/766604556
Very cute graphics. Nice idea for the mechanics too, tough I kept turning on "car mode" and kept wanting to reverse which was a bit frustrating haha This game feels a bit like parking a car inside a maze lol. Great job!
Wow this was beautiful. I love the concept and the implementation. I just think that, if you mean to develop this further (which I think you should) maybe work on getting the keys and sounds a bit more like the real thing. There are a few examples of virtual pianos and keyboards that I think did it well, you might like taking a look at those. Other than that, did you really make all those assets in the 72 hours or were most of them like the background already pre-made assets from stores? Great entry!
(edit: I regret saying that about the assets, I just saw Rebecca's devlogs, her art is amazing!)
Damn I cann't believe I got the right wire on the first try wheew xD This was nice, I like the premise, reminiscent of that movie Speed (was that on purpose?) Nice graphics and animations too. (there were some mistakes on the dialogue) One thing I have to point out is that this font is really hard to read, so that was unfortunate. Overall, nice job!
Edit: Just realized you fixed the font, nevermind then!
Cool game! Really fun to play and really funny concept too. I love the graphics and the animations haha Great job!
Almost a 1337 score: https://i.imgur.com/RSBawDo.png
Really cool game! I thought the mechanic of revealing and selecting cards was interesting and novel (at least I haven't seen it yet in other games) However it crashed at some point when I tried to ambush a pack of rats lol. Lovely graphics too! This is unreal engine, or just using some kind of source code?
The graphics are so cute! I love the concept too, even though I suck at typing games because I type to fast and make lots of mistakes lol. I also tried at first to type the words that I thought were opposite to the insults but then I realized that didn't matter, would have been a cool idea (and make the game harder) I also wish there was an endgame, instead of the game just going forever though, unless I didn't play it for long enough lol. Great job! Also, *thoughtful
@fc85057 Thank you! Yes I am sorry for the formatting problems and the bad choice of keys. I'm not sure I can fix that now after the Jam has finished. @michaelha Thank you :)
@bauke-regnerus @tricky-fat-cat @aterlamia Thank you! ^.^
@snowinn Thanks! Yea this was quite the task to handle haha glad you enjoyed it!
@oneiromancer Thanks! ^-^
@corbak Thank you so much! I'm happy you enjoyed it :D I sure had fun making this game
@tamail Thanks! ^_^
@dharby @shan-hsgames @purrseus Thank you!
@aeveis Ending #1 takes a quite different path from #2 so that's probably why. Thanks so much for playing!
@coleslaughter Thank you! :D
@herryfabien hehe xD @leo-red Thanks! Yea probably not, but I wasn't exactly going for historical accuracy in this game anyways lol
@erlioniel Thank you so much, it means a lot! :D
@elysiagriffin Thanks so much for playing :D @jitspoe Yea I'm really aiming for that Humor score on this one lol Thanks!
@simplepotential @gaming-night Thank you! :D
@technogoth Thanks!
@peterfonts @badabooom63 Thank you so much!
@jorgegamedev Thank you so much for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game ^-^
@techsec Thanks! Yea it takes a while to get it I think ;) @ditam Yup that was a problem some people have had, I will try fixing that once the jam is over. Thanks so much!
@peace-of-cake-games Wow thank you! I don't think I had seen someone complete the whole game yet, you might be the first :D
Very nice implementation of the theme, and I thought the concept was pretty funny xD Of course my ocd does not like rotated pixels but maybe that's a me problem. It also felt a bit hard to control with the speed at which it was rotating. Overall, nice entry!
Really interesting mechanic. Very inventive how you coordinate the 3 characters in a point and click. Never saw it done like this before. Good job!
Great game! Only complaint is that it's only browser and Unity WEBGL doesn't run well on my computer. Nonetheless great entry! One of the best so far
This was a great representation of what it feels like to live in quarantine lol. The music cuts off after a few loops, idk if that's intentional. I couldn't figure out that you could call Mary multiple times. Man that noise effect really made it hard to see anything. I kept wanting for the knife to be selectable but it never happened, maybe I'm just suicidal... Other than that, nice work!
This was a cute game! I don't know what an orca is doing walking around in the middle of the forest though... I did find a bug I think: sometimes when you pass from one "screen" to another, it teleports you to the same one you just left.
My highscore: https://i.imgur.com/0sOSHSW.png
(Also, Joshua, I used your music in my game btw!)
Damn took me a while to figure out the files were part of the game lol I really liked the concept of this, I wish more games did stuff like this. I did feel like it was a bit lacking in terms of gameplay though. I was wondering if there were other things you could say besides "yes" and "no" but I didn't really try. Would be a nice easter egg. Nice job!
Simple and great game! Even though I tried the browser version I still think it played well.
Here's my playthhrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/766604555 :D
I exploited the system and ruined the economy of this game lol I guess those monks looooove beerenburg!
Screenshot_79.png
Great entry! Super clean and well executed. Am I the only one who noticed the trader ships are named after Ludum Dare streamers? That was funny lol Great job!
HONK This game is so thicc that it broke my browser. But in all seriousness that soundtrack was awesome! And the game feels really satisfying to play too. A true homage to Doom. Also, is that megalovania? Idk if people have said it before but when you respawn you stay red. Great job! But yea idk what this has to do with the theme lol.
Nice game! It's pretty simple, but still I like it because it's not just like an idle game. I also liked the little animation of the hamster, it was cute.
Nice idea and execution, felt a bit hard to control at first but then you get the hang of it. Also the ending was like.. woooaaaaa Nice job!
I wish the controls were a bit more intuitive as I said, also the fact you can move while still in the intro screen bugs me too lol Good job though!
Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/766604553
Damn this game is terrifying haha Shame I couldn't play it on stream. I love the art style, and the sfx really give an intense and dark atmosphere. Reminded me of my own nightmares when I was a child. Great job!
Few things: The game says A & D to move but it's actually Q & D in a QWERTY keyboard for some reason. Also I'd like a main menu and settings so you can at least make it windowed.
Fun idea and great implementation! I love the graphics and the database system. No complaints. Great job!
Such a cool game! I love the concept and it's perfectly executed. Only complaint is that bug with the plane clones not passing the edge. Great job!
Even though stream crashed I still got some footage: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/766604559
Such a cute little game! It's really relaxing to play and the whole thing, the music, the visuals and the gameplay all feel really well together. Nice job!
Damn this game is hard. I could not get to the end because of those flying enemies. They do not leave you alone no matter what. Also apparently if you don't use the jetpack you can't "lose"? The losing/falling mechanic was a bit strange, I didn't quite understand it. Also that warning sound is really loud. Other than that, nice game!
I had a hard time understanding that you had to press space to recharge steering, that caused me to die a couple times. This game is hard, but yea you get the hang of it eventually. It was also kinda hard to understand what was obstacles and what was pickups, maybe a halo to differenciate the pickups? Overall, nice entry!
Screenshot_80.png
Was this game designed to make you feel anxious and claustrophobic because in that case it worked xD I liked the Portal vibes, I want more games like this. I was about to give up when I saw something change, idk if by accident or design haha. Nice job!
Interesting premise, but I got stuck in the first part, when I supposedly went back to the beginning area. It wouldn't let me advance and I don't know why, I must have missed something? Nice visuals though Good job for a first entry!
I like the asteroids but with a twist idea. The fact that your space gets smaller and makes you unable to dodge the projectiles anymore works well, I just wish there was some way to increase that space again, otherwise it's just certain death at that point. Also a timer would be cool too.
Cool game! It was nice playing it on stream!
Here's the playthrough: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/766604554 Thanks for watching!
Cool game! Extremelly simple but it was well executed nonetheless.
Thanks so much for submitting! (Olá Jorge!) I had a lot of fun playing this on stream :D Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1011888344
Nice concept, wasn't expecting to see a hammering sim in this jam. Nice job!
Two things tho: the sfx was not done right, when the hammer was on the left the sound was centered, but when it was on the right it was only on my right ear. I don't think that's what you were aiming for.
Also, it would be nice to have a highscore at the end.
Screenshot_105.png
This was so fun to play! Really hard as well, especially with the wobbly graphics (how did you make those by the way? :o ) Very neat! Screenshot_104.png
I found a bug where the sword gets stuck and if you swing it it appears to swing out of your hands, as the sprite of the sword keeps turning but the character stays in place. Didn't have time to take a picture and it only happened once so idk how reproducible it is. Otherwise, this game is absolutely fantastic! Basically everything about it is perfect!
Screenshot_108.png
Such a cool and funny game! Really interesting concept, and I enjoyed the mechanics (my arm hurts tho) It does feel like a realistic simulation in that sense haha! My second attempt: Screenshot_107.png
I enjoyed getting my arm tired again for the stream hahaha Thanks so much for submitting! ^^ Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1011888347
Such a funny game, I liked it a lot! :) Thanks for submitting! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006074748
Very nice game! I enjoyed playing it on stream ^^ Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1011888350
I love the concept, and the dialogues are pretty funny too, and the levels are unexpected xD Just wish the controls were a little easier to handle, I kept failing for dumb reasons. Nice game!
I love this! Such an underrated game. The music is amazing, the graphics are nostalgic and the atmosphere and the gameplay are just so well executed. Bravo! Probably my favorite so far.
Really nice game! Definitely deserves more ratings :) Really liked playing it on stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006074751
@sandtoise I had the page on private by mistake. Should be public now, sorry about that! ^^'
@sandtoise Thanks so much for the feedback!
Flowers take you to the "Cave of Instincts" which lets you know the cipher to unlock the gate to the next area. The other objects are just a way to explore each area (also its randomly generated every time)
Each area is technically endless, so you can just keep going "deeper and deeper" until you run out of patience (or your browser runs out of memory)
Thanks for playing! :D
Thank you @caiolima ^-^ Yea I think I did some mistakes in game design, and I ran out of time to add tips and more dialogue. Thanks for playing!
@vaanrile @jakob-willforss Thank you for the feedback :) Yea sorry if the puzzle was a bit hard to get, its an issue of the genre as well. Thanks so much for playing!
@beachboogeyman Thank you ^^
@zenbarista @verygenuinecraze Thank you guys for the feedback :D
@pedrohph Thank you so much :)
@akronsus Yea the spawning of objects is bugged, sorry about that :c I will try to fix that in a post-jam version once I get to it.
Thanks for playing!
@brainloaf-studio Thanks so much for the feedback ^-^
@beatrizw @nisovin Thank you so much! :D
@unpronounceable @krapht @oddarock Thanks guys! ^^
@xariusexcl @fabula-rasa @peace-of-cake-games @papaver Thank you guys so much for playing and for the feedback! ^^
@kotzi @nablaz @orcpaladin @itsisaac Thanks so much for the feedback :)
Cool game! I liked the premise and it was well executed. Thanks for submitting it for the stream! ^^ Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1011888348
Such a cute game! I love the graphics and the gameplay feels smooth and satisfying, and the music fits nicely too! Great work!
Nice work once again, you two make a good team :) The intro scrolls too fast and I missed it the first time, also instead of it repeating in the main menu maybe have one of the options, something like "Info" or something. The controls were a bit hard to manage, and it makes you freak out easily and waste all your missiles. Also "incoming missiles" don't look like pickups at first, and I almost dodged one. Great music as always! Good job!
Screenshot_106.png
Thanks for submitting to the stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1011888345
Damn that was intense! The music was too loud though, and I really miss an audio settings menu, but other than that great work!
Here's my highscore: Screenshot_109.png
Nice game! I had fun playing it on stream :) Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006074750
Really liked this game's mood and aesthetic! ^^ Thanks so much for submitting, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006074749
Really like the concept, it's very unique. Very interesting take on a management type game. I don't know if I just suck, but it was really hard to keep track of everything that was going on, especially when the more roots there were the more things I had to click, and I also didn't really get what those underground creatures actually did, if they cut the roots or the chords...
The screeching at the end was a bit much xD
Overall, nice work!
I really liked playing this game on stream. Thanks so much for submitting ^^ Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006074747
Nice game! I enjoyed playing it on stream ^^ Thanks for submitting! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1011888346
Very nice game! It had a nice difficulty curve, and it felt intuitive. The controls were a bit junky when there were too many boxes, and I got stuck trying to move between them, I wish there was a way to grab them from the side too.. Overall, great work!
Very sweet game. It's a bit slow to reveal the text though, and didn't really see much of interactivity though it, but still it was a nice experience.
Very well put together game! Thanks for submitting it to the stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1172843368
Awesome game! Lovely take on Donkey Kong but with a twist. Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1172843380
Interesting entry! The game does have some problems though, for example regardless of what I do the end screen is always shows the same text, this one: Screenshot_128.png
Also it says "chicken" instead of sheep in that text, oops xD I like the way the sheep shake relentlessly once in a while, gives the impression of shivering in fear, but idk if that was intentional or not. Also wish there was some audio. Nice game nonetheless!
Very cute game! Challenging puzzles as well. I really enjoyed playing it on stream! Thanks for submitting it! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1172843372
Definitely one of my favorite entries yet! Very good idea and great execution :D Thanks for submitting! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1172843375
Very well put together game! Nice use of the theme, good job :)
I really like this kind of games, very nice job! I wish the actual game was longer but I get that time constraints don't help with that. Great work!
Very nice entry! It was a bit hard to get at first, but after a few tries I think I kinda got the hang of it haha
Screenshot_127.png
Interesting take on the theme! I like the mechanics and the implementation is flawless. Just wish the game itself was longer though/had more levels. Overall, nice job!
Great game! I really liked playing it on stream. Thanks for submitting! Here's the video: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1172843370
You did a great job at reproducing the sheer irritation factor that QWOP had. I don't understand what those graphs at the top-left mean tho... Nice work!
Edit: I just reread the description and now I get it. Still not sure how to use that information effectively during gameplay lol
Very good game! I enjoyed playing it on stream :) Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1172843367
Great game! I enjoyed playing it on stream. Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1172843386
Amazing entry! Great interpretation of the theme, executed beautifully. I'm glad I got to play this one before the end. Great work!
Amazing graphics, awesome atmosphere and really good story too :) I really liked playing it on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1172843371
Really cool game! Thank you for submitting on stream :) Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837884
"I will not cry" Mission failed :cry:
This game is so beautiful, I have no words. It touched me and I don't know why. The music fitting the visuals was amazing. It has so few dialogue but with such a powerful narrative. This might be my favorite submission so far.
Bravo!
Very cute game, I enjoyed playing it!
I was a bit confused about when I could and couldn't clear the spiked. Maybe I'm just dumb.
Man this is such a strange concept for a game haha I love it xD
The art is ridiculously cute. The mechanics are nice, I like that you kinda have to see which things you should invest in seeing it's not linear.
I wish you had a radio or something so that you could change the music, because listening to that on a loop for 40 minutes is honestly a bit much. I have to admit it's not really my style either and so I muted the game halfway and had to put my own music in the background.
I think the theme is a bit of a stretch, looks more like something from LD47 Stuck In A Loop, but then again this game is pretty random in general x)
Also I think the loop gets a bit frustrating when you're farther into the game because half of the scenes are basically useless then.
Overall, nice job!
Love the twist you made, where you spend the whole game trying not to win. Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1453383267 Thanks for submitting!
This is the funniest game man xD I love it! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449081811
B R U H https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837900 (Thanks for submitting!)
Nice game! Thanks for submitting :) here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837883
I've never been great at these kind of hectic management games, especially ones with this much going on. My brain overloaded with information quite fast I'll admit xD
I didn't quite get what you were supposed to do to get the launch codes. When I opened the computer it's just a black screen...
Also, the game crashed when I was refueling the generator.
Overall nice job! You really put a lot of effort into this and it shows!
Super cute game! As promised, here's the VOD!: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837881
Great work!
Sorry for the late responses guys. I am a bit overwhelmed by the attention this game is getting, and I am myself recovering from how exausted this jam made me, but don't worry it's in a good way. Thank you all so much for your feedback! I truly appreciate it! Even if I don't reply, I read all the comments. Thank you!
@ossi Thank you! Yea I've received a lot of complaints about this, I need to add a way to buy things in bulk, maybe Buy 10 button or just a macro.
@aeveis Thanks! The game has 3 endings, including the one where you lose the battle. Speaking of which, yea I'm sorry about the balancing of the battles, they need to be slower x)
@boaromayox Thank you so much! Yea hireing a single guard as is right now is basically a death sentence lol, as I said above, I need to do better balancing on the battles, or at least explain to the player that they need to always have at least a dozen guards. Again, an option to buy in bluk would be a good addition.
@lucavazz Yea I've also received complaints about this, I might make a delay so you can't click the button for about the first .5 seconds or so.
@nyanpierre Thanks! Sorry about your finger!
@okamit Thank you so much! As I said above, I am going to add a way to buy things in bulk, I think that was the biggest criticism I got of the game so far. I'm glad you enjoyed all the endings ^^
@yogurtthehorse Thank you so much! I will be playing a lot more games soon, and try to stream on twitch too, but right now I'm still too tired for that.
Thanks again everyone!
@shrillwhip Thank you so much! I already have a post-jam version where you actually have time to process what's going on during battles lol
This is so funny xD I love the voiceacting, and how in the end it's so chaotic it feels like you're approaching the silgularity.
I don't know if it's just me, but there's so much information so fast and it ramps up really quickly.
Nice job!
Really nice game! Had fun playing it, and it's an interesting concept. Have not much to say except I feel like the difficulty ramps up really fast xD
Nice game! I enjoyed playing it on stream :) here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837879

Damn this is so 80s, I love it! I'm real bad at this game though xD
Hey! Thanks for showing up on stream today! Here's a VOD if you ever need footage of me sucking at this game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449081810
Super fun and funny game! I loved playing it on stream :D here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1453383269

Awesome game! Thanks for showing it on stream :) Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1453383272
I love this, knowcking it out of the park once again ^^ I just wish I understood the minesweeper one, it still makes no sense to me lol Great job!
Nice game! I wish it was longer :) Heres the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837880
Man this game is so funny! I love the voices and the graphics. Great work on this!
I don't have much to add! For some reason I found myself unable to get better at it, in fact I think I got worse for some reason lol
Such a fun game! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837885
Damn this game is intense. I love that you use the snake-type controls like this, makes for a very engaging experience.
I would like for the game to resize better for small screens. On my laptop I have to put it in fullscreen otherwise I can't click on the upgraes and stuff. Also the scoreboard isn't working, idk if that's intended.
Anyways, here's my highscore:
Screenshot_32.png
Great work!
Nice game! Making a pinball game was a great move to match the theme.
Not to mention that it trully is inevitable that a ball is going to get stuck in this area eventually x) Screenshot_29.png
Overall nice job! Here's my highscore: Screenshot_30.png
One more thing: The controls are wrong. It say in the game that you use QW for the pedals and AS to shake, but it's actually QE and AD
Nice game! Thanks for submitting it on stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837886
Nice entry! Hard as hell to play though x) Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1453383271
Wow. I've never seen a game like this use typing. It does tire my right hand a lot though trying to keep my eyes open. I guess because I didn't know how long I had I tended to keep pressing J & L repeatedly, and that got pretty tiresome x)
Also at least for me the sound bugged in the transitions between levels.
I love it! Great work!
Funny game xD Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1452837882
It takes a bit to understand this game, but after you do it's pretty fun! It is a bit annoying that you have to wait in a place for 3.5 seconds sometimes, or sometimes you miscalculate the jump and and up stopping in mid-air, dooming your playthrough. I think some way to maybe skip the wait would be cool, but I understand that would come into conflict with the concept.
Overall, nice job!
Hey again! Thanks for showing up on stream :) Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1453383276
What a cute little game! It plays really smoothly, but is also really challenging. Love the implementation of the theme. Great job!
I got 118 seconds, 8/13 checkpoints.
I love this game! Amazing art, great gameplay and such a cute premise xD I don't think I have a single negative thing to say about it. You outdid yourselves this time, bravo!
Here's a VOD of my gameplay https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1625333439 (The performance was flawless on my end, it's the recording that is low quality, sorry about that)
Nice game! Unique implementation of the theme. Though 10 seconds to reload may be a bit of a hassle at times, I like that it makes an otherwise pretty fast-paced game a lot more strategic. Great work!
@mgnta Thank you. Try refreshing the page though, it seems to work for me. I don't understand why the link doesn't show on the page, but I have it on itch.io too: https://mateusboga.itch.io/gastronauts
@kromeboy @mgnta Thanks everyone for playing and the feedback! :D
@grau That's a bug at the moment, sorry about that... And maybe that was the food from previous failed missions? Just a theory xD
@gamejmunk You can sell ingredients in the Shop from your inventory. You also need to return to earth if you want to keep the items you collected, otherwise you die in space and they are lost, donno if this was clear in the explanation, sorry!
@elysiagriffin @100th-coin Thank you both so much for your playthroughts, it's been a blast to see :D
@chrissx2 @lone-wolf Thank you for playing :)
@aeveis @erlioniel @peachtreeoath @stonkystoges @fribolin Thank you all so much for your feedback! ^-^
@kuro @doot @neeko69 Thank you all so much for playing!
@neeko69 Yea that's a bug I didn't have time to fix, sorry ^^;
If your objective was to make a rage game, I can say you succeeded lol Great interpretation of the theme, and really funny too! I can see I wasn't the only one to make a game using farts for movement haha Great work! (I didn't make it to the end)
This was a nice and funny experience xD I retried a couple times, and got to the part where the aliens explain their intentions. It's a shame that you have to get there to understand where the Theme comes in, but other than that this was pretty nice! I'd like to see a finished version of this little adventure.
Very nice game! I enjoyed playing it on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1625333441
Super cute game! I enjoyed this a lot ^^ Thanks for submitting! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1625333440
Only downside of this game is that there isn't more of it. I just wanted to keep playing this on and on. So simple and so effective! Great job on this!
This was was hectic, but really well executed! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1619874559 Thanks for submitting!
I enjoyed playing this one on stream :D Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1619874556
Thanks for submitting to the stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1619874560
I have to admit this is right up my alley hehe Love the music!
I don't like that the chart changes everytime the scene changes, and you miss the first note every time because it spawns right on top of you and you can't react that fast.
Also, and this is from personal experience, if you make a rythm game like this, don't made it so that if you click when there is no note it counts as a failure, but instead make it only whether you hit a note before it passes, because otherwise you will miss the note (1 failure) + click in vain (1 failure) which means you get 2 failures for missing a note versus 1 success for hitting a note which isn't fair. I hope I'm making sense with this explanation!
Otherwise, pretty solid entry! Good job!
I enjoyed playing this one on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1619874558 Thanks for submitting! ^^
This was fun! Thanks for submitting it to the stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1619874562
This was an intriguing entry, I could see this with a bit more content to expand on the story perhaps? But the little I played was a nice experience. Just the enemy shape not matching their collision detection was a bit confusing. Nice work though!
Here's my gameplay: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1625333442
I didn't participate in the jam this time so I can't leave a rating, but I just wanted to say this game has a lot of quality. I really liked the concept and the execution. It manages to be funny and thought-provoking at the same time!
Another great entry once again! These controls were a mess to figure out though. I like the mechanic where your delivery gets more and more damaged the more times it falls. Some text on the dialoque was cropped weird though, and it just said my package had "%" left.
Nice work!
Interesting take on the theme! However I did get to a place where it was essentially impossible to lose, so I ended up letting the dragons destroy my village just to end the game. Another kind of end condition would be nice (like a final big dragon you have to defeat or something) but I know you didn't have a lot of time. Overall, nice work and great team!
I noticed the music volume doesn't seem to change with the options slider also
Simple but well-done game! I enjoyed playing in on stream :D Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1814982165
Wow. That was incredible! I think you outdid yourself with this one. The voiceacting was hillarious, and the puzzle itself was pretty good too xD That bossfight music was amazing, it's stuck in my head lol Great work all around, don't have anything negative to say really.
The game crashed after playing for a while. Took me a while to understand what to do, but overall the concept is interesting. Kinda feels more like an idle game, since all you do is sit and wait for units to get to their destination. Overall, nice work!
Another crazy entry once again xD You guys never disappoint! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1818241667
Real shame you didn't have time to finish this one. I can see a lot of potential here. What you implmented felt nice. I like the way the footsteps kind of show where you came from, but it might get confusing when several overlap. Maybe some way to distinguish them from other ants's? The graphics are a bit hard to look at to be honest, would enjoy something a bit more crisp. I hope you continue working on this after the jam, curious to see where you can take it!
@ruruie @rradu @quinnster @cameronpenner @bauke-regnerus Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! :D
@ruruie I thought of doing that, but not sure how much it would help, and I think it kinda adds to the challenge having that trial and error (you get pretty good at it after a while)
@rradu I tried making the theme fit, but ended up focusing on making the game itself play well and look good and ran out of time for it xD
@cameronpenner The pause/unpause mechanic is broken in general. This was the first time I tried anything like this using the requestPointerLock function in javascript, and it's a mess to work with because it has issues with the player focusing and unfocusing the page, so yea don't really know how to fix those issues at the moment, sorry...
@lone-wolf @erlioniel @chrissx2 @daivyishere @arbe Thank you all for playing and for the feedback!
My main goal this jam was to try out this new engine I made and see how it performed, so that's why I didn't use a normal engine :) If I have enough time, I'm planning on doing more games with it, and keep improving its performance. This jam was already super helpful by seeing other people test it out and pointing out the bugs. The biggest one I see is really the audio system, which was made haphazardly at the last minute and probably needs to be completely overhauled so it doesn't destroy the CPU. I'm probably going to need some help with that, because a lot of these concepts are new to me and I never ventured this far into programming before. This is one more side project to the list...
Thanks so much again ^^
@wendel-scardua Thanks! The lack of subtitles isn't a you problem. I planned on making them but ran out of time. I plan on putting them in the post-jam version. This is probably why I never do voiceacting because I'm thinking about the acessibility and translation work. Putting crucial info in a poor-quality voiceover was also not the best idea I admit xD
However, I did transcribe all of the Logs and put the text at the bottom of the Itch.io page, in case someone really wanted it, so that's gonna have to do for now.
@aeveis @saltysa @bartalomew @simon-rahnasto @wetburritosupreme @tricky-fat-cat Thank you all so much! :D
Incredibly well-done game! The biggest highlight of this has to be the voiceacting, which is probably the best I've heard in any LD game, at least in my memory. Only thing I have to pick at is that it's not very intuitive to get the hang of it at first. Anyway, thanks for submitting it on stream! Here'd the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1814982162
Very interesting game! I enjoyed playing it on stream :D Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1818241677
This was a weird game xD Really unique idea, though it was really hard to get the "worms" to go the way I wanted them to. I guess that was the challenge, but it was quite frustrating at times. Also, it took me way too long to realize the bait only disappeared if they ate it or if a certain ammount of time passed. At times the AI would move in circles endlessly. The implementation was incredible though. The sounds really add to the feeling. Great work!
Simple but smooth game, driving feels really satisfying! Thanks for submitting! Here's thhe VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1818241668
This is an example of a game that picks one thing and does it really well. Great execution! The controls feel really satisfying and smooth. I really like the level of control you have over it, since you're the one who picks up the papers to start juggling. Great work!
completely missed the part where you jump on enemies to kill them, oops xD thanks for submitting! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1812243943
That was the greatest ending you could have given this game, I was not expecting that xD Wish there was more things to do other than roll dice, but I know you didn't have enough time to make more than this. Still, with what you had, you did a lot for a compo game.
Very nice game! Thanks for submitting ^^ Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1818241664
The graphics and audio are the best parts of this game. Loved the atmosphere this had! Wish I hadn't no-clipped through the floor so I could have finished the game xD Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1814982169
such a cute game! It's a shame you didn't have time to make more levels, because you make a great team! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1812243940 Thanks for submitting :D
man this game is so funny xD but it does have a lot of information at once, and for me it was a bit overwhelming. I still had fun though! I'm sorry the audio was a bit quiet as well, didn't notice it until the end... Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1812243942
Really well crafted game! Thanks for submitting! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1818241676
Man this game is harder than it looks. I think I only got two flawless deliveries and I played it several times. Very well crafted though I have to admit. Here's my highscore:
Screenshot_108.png
*drops VOD then leaves without saying a word* https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1818241663
Such an interesting take on the theme, and really nice execution as well! I enjoyed playing it on stream ^^ here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1814982163
This game looks stunning. However, that's kind of the only thing going for it, unfortunately. There's basically no game right now. I might be dumb, but it took me a while to figure out what to do, and that I could mine the rocks with my laser. Even then, there's no point in doing that, because the game doesn't reward me with anything.
That's the thing about this, there's so much detail, so many places you can go, but you can't interact with anything. It gives the illusion of being so expansive, but it's not. It would have been better to just focus on one thing and make it well. It feels like you overscoped quite a lot, and it's kind of overwhelming. The first thing I did when I arrived at the landing pad was to try and go up the elevator. I was frustrated because I was looking for some button to go up, and found nothing. Why is that elevator there? Why can I go inside it?
So yea, I hope I'm not being too harsh, just keep this in mind next time. Don't fill the world with things that are just for show and run out of time for actual gameplay. Still, the game looks stunning, as I said. Amazing graphics, and the world is unbelievably detailed for a jam game. The controls are also really smooth and I was surprised at the complex collisions of objects such as the ship itself and that I could even walk on top of it. If you created some more gameplay with this it would be amazing! I hope you do after the jam is over.
Really funny entry xD I enjoyed playing in on stream. Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1818241665
Love how complex yet simple the game is, really well done! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2124124914
Great entry! Simple, but effective, like the other games I've seen from you ^^ Feels a bit like flappy bird with mixed with a racing game, which I haven't seen before.
Funny as hell game once again, and you really upped the ante with the voiceacting! Thanks for submitting to the stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2124124913
PS: I just realized, was this your idea for You Don't Play As The Main Character?
Great game as always! This one was very interesting, and I enjoyed playing it on stream ^^ Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2136428351
Funny game xD Thanks for showing up on stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2136428348
Great game! Broke my brain a little bit, but in a good way :) Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2136428347 Thanks for coming to the stream!
Lovely game. It's a shame I got stuck at the end xD Thank for submitting, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2124124733
@liniux @escyll @ecenizo @sodagummy Thank you so much! ^^
@liniux The music stops when you're fighting wars / have a plague going on, it should restart when those go away
@escyll Thanks, yea it was a lot of work indeed, I felt like giving up a couple times :sweat_smile:
@erlioniel Thanks! Yea I'm sorry the game turned out this complicated xD I'm not great at designing grand-strategy games.. Thanks for playing!
@aeveis Thanks so much for the feedback! This is the first time I'm doing a game like this for a jam so yea, it is a pain in the a-- to design >.<
I struggled to understand how to play this at fist, and I'll be honest I'm still not sure I get it. Sometimes you can attack the enemies by clicking on them, sometimes you can't. Sometimes the dark spirit kills them instantly, sometimes it doesn't. Is this a bug? I've reached very close to the end, but I will always run out of something first, and being unable to have a reliable way to kill enemies is kind of frustrating. Nonetheless, I love the atmosphere and the graphics, and all the little animations!
Lovely game! The synthwave-y music reminds me of Undertale a little bit. The mechanic of digging graves to summon twin souls is a very unique and brilliant idea, bravo! It was a bit hard to get the hang of at first though
As I said before the graphics are awesome!
The design of the game is also very interesting, I've never seen something quite like it! I did struggle to create a stragety though. I would suggest a way to replace heads from your deck in case you're dealt a bad hand. RNG can ruin a run very easily and you become unable to do practically anything. Also an ability to reset the game and also make it fullscreen would be nice.
Great job!
Man this was hard! The idea is very funny though, and I'm glad you continued working on the post-jam version. With some more polish this has potential! Thanks for showing up on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2136428350
Lovely game! Simple but effective. Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2124124735 Thanks for submitting!
Very nice game! Curious to see what you're planning to do with it after the jam ^^ Thanks for submitting on stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2133052641
Very cool game! Even if some things could have been done better, still great work for your firest 3D game, and the concept is funny xD. Thanks for submitting your game on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2124124721
Nice game! I hope you keep working on it after the jam because I think it has a lot of potential! Thanks for submitting it on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2133052644
Playing this on a drawing tablet feels like cheating, but it's sooo fun! Thanks for submitting the game on stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2124124912
Such a cute game! The style reminds me of those mobile games like candy crush (in a good way) and I can see this becoming something like that at some point! I'ts a shame you ran out of time to implement all the concepts I saw you posted a while ago. But I hope you continue working on the game after the Jam :) Absolutely love the concept you went for (are you all slavic or is there another reason you picked slavic mythology?) and the drawings are super cute and well made! The game is too easy I admit, needed some better balancing, and I couldn't develop a strategy because it felt like anything I did was fine, so yea some more "punishing" mechanics would be cool. I like that you get mana back from killing enemies, it's a nice reward. At some point some pits of hands started walking, and I think some units got stuck in the tree because they stopped moving. It's kind of a shame that the units seem to spawn in a random direction, I'd preffer if they spawned directly on top of Koschei, or maybe in the direction he's facing so you could get more control of them. Other than that it's a great entry! Congratulations to all of you ^^
Definitely a very artistic and trippy game lol. The aesthetic is very interesting, and I wasn't expecting to actually summon something at the end xD. For the horse race itself it would be nice to be able to tell which horse is yours, because it's hard to tell right now, even if you remember the name (I didn't). Thanks for submitting on stream! here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2133052642
Interesting game! Thanks for submitting to the stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2124124723
Such a simple but well executed game! The narration was really soothing, and the graphics went along nicely with it. Wasn't expecting to get a nuclear physics lesson in a LD game xD I don't really have anything negative to say about it, maybe having a way to know which atoms you already "unlocked" when there's multiple versions of yourself would be cool.
Dude, I think you outdid yourself once again! The music is incredible and the visuals compliment it so well. The mechanics are also so interesting and fun! I did struggle to make it through the I think last 3 levels, there was one where you could only make a jump because of some funky physics and sometimes you just can't force the game to do it. Idk if that was intentional or not. That reminds me, it would be nice to know what level you're on somewhere on screen.
You have to release the OST somewhere, please!
Screenshot_137.png
Love it! Such a simple but effective game design. I was confused at first because I thought the game was turn-based, but then realized the enemies move independently from you. It would have been interesting and make it more of a strategy game if it was turn based, but this works too. Great work!
Screenshot_135.png
Great game! Getting to build your own level makes you feel like you're more in control and also makes you feel more like you played yourself when you fail. I love it! Took me way too long to figure out you can rotate pieces...
Screenshot_131.png
Yall did it once again! Hillarious game, and really challenging too, it was fun to try and figure out strategies for where you should place the ants. The sound of the ants about to fall off is so well done too. Don't have much else to say.
Screenshot_138.png
Damn this game is hard! I love the mechanic of picking poisonous carrots and it inverts your controls, it really gives the feeling of dizzyness. Nice work!
Screenshot_78.png
@xlores-liang @yoav-kagan @willby Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback ^^
@100th-coin damn, now that I've watched someone else play it, I realised I must have messed up the speed, because it's not supposed to be THAT fast! it's like half of that speed on my computer. Sorry! That really wasn't intended xD I needed to make it a fixed framerate or something... It's interesting because this makes the game easier on slower devices! Yes, the levels are procedurally generated. And no, it's not infinite, it's supposed to be 12 levels. I chose 12 because I noticed after that it starts to create those inaccessible places you mentioned. I had safeguards for those in place but they aren't guaranteed. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
@daff I changed the framerate in the browser version, that's why it's easier now :) thanks for playing!
@custodi @letssnack @jhyke @catnap @shiiro-10psi @kaviasko @shamiya @takhomasac @johnnysix @sid37 Thanks all for playing and for the feedback ^^
@thomas-bringer Thanks so much! And yes, you're right about it sounding like "He's a Pirate" because I just realized it uses the same notes xD it's funny and completely unintentional, but I used to know that song by heart as a kid
@kirass @historymaker118 thanks!
@historymaker118 it's supposed to be snake controls, which I'm not used to coding, but I don't exactly know how to make it more responsive, it detects and changes direction in the same frame you press the button, so idk
@andreadbx I'll be working on fixing the issue, thanks so much for the stream and for the feedback!
@lone-wolf Wow, I didn't think of that queue thing, that might be what I was missing this whole time! (Can't reproduce the echo bug unfortuantely, might be a linux thing?) Thanks for the feedback!
@ferricsbo @kerdelos @cortez @thatfirey Thanks so much ^^
@coleslaughter Thank you for playing and for the feedback! @satless Thanks! Yea that's a common criticism, I should rethink the controls a bit
This is an interesting and unique take on the theme. It would be nice to be able to see your resources in the upgrades screen so you don't have to switch back and forth. Also, in terms of resources, idk if it's bad RNG on my side, but it feels like Essence is too hard to get for something that's so basic on so many Upgrades. It would be nice to get some more control over what you do, instead of just clicking and hoping you get the resources you need. Anyway, the graphics look great and the idea is super interesting, and I think a more expanded version of this game would be really cool! Like a dungeon crawler but the dungeon is a body. Great work!
Argh! Those rats need to work FASTER dammit! I struggled to understand what to do at first, I didn't understand you needed to fill up the place with rats, I thought one was enough, Rattatouille taught me wrong.
The collissions between the clients make the place crowded very quickly, maybe they should wait in line or something.
Anyway, great game nonetheless!
Such a cute game! It's a unique take on the turnbased fire emblem-style strategy, plus the added hazard of the paw crushing random creatures in an area really makes you believe that these bugs are fighting on a random patch of grass in the forest. I think the moves could have been done with like a toolbar instead of using the same mouse click for everything, sometimes you accidentally move a creature you didn't mean to, so it would be nice to have better control of what you want to do with each creature. It's also weird that you can remove previous upgrades to get acorns back, but I guess it's an interesting mechanic. Overall, great job!
Screenshot_136.png
Glad to see I wasn't the only one doing a game about bats ^^ And we went pretty different directions too! This is quite relaxing to play, and the sound design is incredible! I got a bit disappointed to see colliding with walls doesn't do anything, because I was doing my best to avoid them at first. Great work!
Interesting take on the theme! Sometimes the packets would get stuck inside the floor or under the vending machine which was annoying. Just wish the game had a little more to do other than simply following instructions, some kind of choice maybe, but I get you didn't have a lot of time. The whole game atmosphere had some kind of half life or stanley parable feel to it I can't explain, which is very cool. Great work nonetheless!
I LOVE THIS! Super unique and interesting gameplay, and it feels so nice to play too, great job! I just wish the sheep moved a little faster, or perhaps a fast-forward button or something. It's so satisfying to look at them go though ^^
WOW! I LOVE THIS! I haven't seen a stop-motion game in soooooooooooooooo long, and this looks beautiful! Really is a shame that the game is so short, I want a full game like this now.
Some of the shots seemed to miss the target when it looked like they should hit, idk if I'm just bad.
Damn, this game is too real. I've suffered with insomnia practically my whole life and mosquitoes make the problem so much worse. This game encapsulates the feeling extremelly well, from the bloodstains on the wall, to the mechanic of having to hit the mosquito. It would be nice to know how much sleep you actually are getting though, instead of just the clock, though you can kinda do math in your head like in real life I guess. The fact the clock keeps going when you're trying to hit the mosquitoes maybe adds too much extra pressure, since you already have to deal with so many at once and before you know it you've wasted your whole night, but that is kinda accurate too. Would also be nice to see what night you're on.
I experienced the same crash some others were getting, that after night 3(?) you get a night with 0 mosquitoes and the game crashes. I was using Edge. Hope you find the problem and get to fix it. Otherwise, very nice game!
Screenshot_133.png
The graphics and the audio goes nicely with it. The controls and the gameplay is a little too weird and clunky to me however, I really struggled to understand the mechanic of the wall of mice, because it seemed to not stop all of the rats from stealing the cheese. The hardest part for me was the controls, how I had to do tokyo drifts with Bonamouse to get the cheese. But overall, nice game!
I love this! Such a cool idea, and it's so well implemented. Great sound effects and the characters and animations are so iconic as well. Don't have much negative to say about this. Great job!
Love it! Super fun to play and extremelly well polished. Reminds me of Shovel Knight and other similar games. Graphics, music, everything is super satisfying. Only suggestion I have would be able to switch the weapon, or at least ditch the current one, because sometimes it makes it impossible to hit certain enemies. Splendid work!
Screenshot_146.png
Such a unique game! I really like the implementation with the lava, and how it randomizes the rock each time. The main issue I have with it is that you have to align yourself with the grid perfectly for it to mine otherwise you get stuck, would have preffered a different method, either with an actual grid or something else, because right not it's pretty furstrating. Otherwise, it's fun to see how far down you can go before the lava gets to you. I could really see this as an arcade game! Great work
Screenshot_144.png
At first it wasn't clear that I was supposed to actually put the pieces of the moon together. There was a lot of effort put into that mechanic, I can tell! Humor, music, voiceacting stellar as always. You managed to get a lot done in 48 hours, honestly kind of insane :o Great work!
Screenshot_143.png
Very unusual and unique kind of game, would have definitely never thought of putting tetris and golf together like this. It's definitely very hard, and I hope you get the orbs back if you accidentally drop them out of bounds! I found no bugs, don't have much else to say other than great work once again!
Screenshot_138.png
I got stuck pretty early in the game because I didn't notice you could go even deeper after the Twilight Depths. I had to use the walkthrough many times. It's funny that you can talk to the Eel though. The last part with the kraken key was the hardest to get. Also, I think I found a bug, where if you enter the kraken's door immediately it just says "Ink" in bold letters, and you have to exit and enter again for the ending to actually happen. Took me 247 turns. Very nice work though, regardless!
Great entry as always! Really simple and easy to figure out and get the hang of it, even though of course it has great potential for a rage game. I also wasn't expecting to learn something while playing a vertical-scrolling "platformer" but here we are :D Don't really have much negative to say. Great work!
I am in awe at this game. You managed to do so much in 72 hours! The voiceacting, the animations, the transitions, the character designs, everything is so good and professional! I have basically 0 complaints, other than I wish this was a full game. Incredible work!
@mathstr0fficial Thanks so much for the feedback and the gameplay video! So: using the drill on minerals severely ruins their yield right now, so you're supposed to save them for digging down to the next layer only. That was something that wasn't very obvious. But regardless, the game softlocks after a while because the iron generation is about the same every layer but the cost of a drill is exponential and your yield upgrades only give +1 iron every hit, so yea. I need to rethink the design if I want to make the game endless. And no, the game doesn't end in Layer 8. Thanks for playing!
@corbak Thanks for the feedback! You were supposed to buy a drill and dig straight down to get to the next layer. The game doesn't have an end, though as I mentioned to Abi above there is an inevitable softlock once you run out of iron which I guess can be considered an "ending" xD. Thanks for playing!
@wetburritosupreme @bslrqs Thanks! ^^
@timelost Thank you! You can change the scale of the game by going in the settings and changing "upscale", if that helps. Sorry the controls are confusing, I'll have to work on them more once the jam is over. Thanks for playing!
@tobius @piero-pbes-studio @sami822 @amberfall92 @pro4 Thanks so much for playing and for your feedback! ^^
@tobius A way to locate dwarves is to use the Market tab and click on them one by one, but I do understand there should be a better/easier shortcut.
@drsmey @chispalbc @allie-vera @euler-moises @anton-florey Thank you all so much for your feedback!
@chispalbc Yes I did everything, except some SFX ^^ The auto pathfinding was using the A* (A Star) pathfinding algorythm that you can find versions of online, modified by me so that it randomly looks around the dwarf with larger and larger radius. I admit the code for this is very crunchy, but I suppose that's normal for a jam game. I should make a post-mortem for this soon. The dig button hides in auto for code reasons as well xD Thanks!
@euler-moises Quase! Sou de Portugal ^^ muito obrigado!
@sam-gorman @eugenik @gerswick @coleslaughter @sztobar @braeden @ammonit @shadyshade Thank you all so much for playing and for your feedback!
@braeden Thanks for mentioning that, I believe the issue is that the pace of the game is dependant on machine performance, so if you try on mobile for example they should be much slower. I need to normalize it so that dwarves progress at a fixed rate regardless of the machine.
@empyreans @kujoen @clymm @yoav-kagan @aweskybear Thanks so much for the feedback! :D
Guys, you can **DRILL DOWN!** You missed 80% of the game and the precious minerals T_T you just have to stop auto-mining and click "Dig Down" (and have coal to do so). I really need to rethink the game design since this is apparently not obvious at all and a lot of people missed it...
@aweskybear I know what the issue is, I had the same issue with my previous LD entry, which in that case was actually game-breaking since you can collide into things. The fix is really simple, just have the game loop happen at a fixed rate, like you said, while all the visual stuff can stay on the frame refresh function. Still, thanks for taking the time to show me a way to do it! (the reason you probably get a slower game in 144hz is because maybe you're in fullscreen? I know that also affect the framerate and speed of the game a lot)
@aweskybear Thanks for your dedication to play the game again and give detailed feedback! It's much appreciated :) yea I definitely overscoped as usual xD
@100th-coin @sinclairstrange @jimbly Thank you so much for your feedback and sorry for the controls being so weird :D
I love the little sounds the robot makes xD It's a nice take on an overcooked-type game, haven't tried it with more players, might be more fun. But at the moment I didn't see a lot to do, other than the meat-stuffed potato (?) and the money didn't do anything either (I'm assuming it was score). Would be cool to see this further expanded. Great work!
Screenshot_142.png
I wasn't expecting the game to be this hard! I managed to make it, but had several times where I almost gave up, and was cursing loudly. I think level 5 was the hardest one for me. Overall, the mechanic is really simple and well implemented, and the art and audio match it well and the overall experience feels very fluid. Good job!
Screenshot_145.png
Took me a while to get at first, but after I got the hang of it I really got into it. Such a unique way of making a card game, and satisfying too! I found that sometimes the card wouldn't let me place it in the slot, had to try a couple of times before it let me. I also would have liked if you had found a way for you to be able to see all your cards at all times, either by scrolling or by overlapping the cards, because right now if you get too many cards you can't play the ones at the ends. The card designs are super cool though, and the monsters too. Great work!
Simple platformer but well implemented and with nice twists! Took me a few tries to get to the end. The music is awesome! The fact that it changes randomly every time you die made me die on purpose to listen to specific songs xD is it supposed to just cut to black after you get to the last checkpoint? Great work!
Couldn't make it through level 2, but that's just a skill issue I think. Very simple but well made game, and it's great work for a first time participation! I did get frustrated over the fact you have to press and hold spacebar everytime you jump off of a wall, would have preffered if you kept gliding regardless, as long as spacebar is being held. Great work!
That was a unique experience I have to say xD I'm impressed with what you managed to do using TTS, hillarous. And the demons were really funny as well, ( Nestlé in there lol ) I do feel a bit confused, maybe I'm missing some reference, or maybe I'm just tired, or maybe it's supposed to be kind of random the whole thing. Regardless, great work!
Great work! Thanks for coming to the stream and letting me play your game ^^ Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2588456379
Crazy how much you made during only 48 hours! You did it again. Thanks for coming to the stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2594438645
Big fan of the Monkey Island style of combat. I think it would have been better if each of the chieftesses had different dialogue, would make it have a bit more character. Or maybe just more options, it got a bit repetitive after just a few fights. I love the Paradox Games style of gameplay with the map and waging land though, that was an interesting addition. Didn't find out what the gold is used for... The concept is also really cute. Good job!
The game is fun, though I admit it's not my kind of game and a little too hard for me. Still, I played it on stream and had a good time. Awesome aesthetic and graphics! Great work! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2594438644
Man, you really went above and beyond with the customization options. I spent half of the game just moving stuff around. Shame there aren't any SFX or music, but if that was the tradeoff I'd say it was worth it. The controls were not intuitive at all though, especially when it came to collecting the items. I thought the browser version was broken before I saw other people's gameplay. The otter is cute, and I love the custom otter outfits! Especially the fairy one.
I found some bugs: - I found a crab walking on the inside of the wall. - You can't select a decor object 2x2 on the two upper squares if there is a 2x2 to the right of it.
Overall, great work for a compo entry!
Screenshot_157.png
Screenshot_159.png
It's like an art collection with a game built around it. The graphical side is definitely the strongest. Thanks for coming to the stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2594438643
For the little time you had to make this this is super polished and impressive! I really enjoy simple games like these, and you did a good job. Maybe it was a little too easy for me, finished in like 4 minutes xD (not a flex)
Screenshot_161.png
Very nice and unique puzzle game, it was fun to play it on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2594438649 Thanks for watching!
Beautiful, comfy and nostalgic. Great entry! Made a great final game to finish off the stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2594438647
@immortalfox @dhim @she-wrote Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!
@she-wrote Maybe this didn't come across, but I was trying to be comedic with the wall of text in the beginning, because in the end it doesn't matter at all for the game xD
@100th-coin Thank you so much for the video, that was really interesting to watch ^^
@yoav-kagan Thank you for the feedback :)
@mathstr0fficial Indeed we're taking about somewhat subjective things, and I think you put it well. It's not for everybody. I do agree with you also that I think ultimately the design of the environment and music could have been better thought out, and fit the kind of game that it is better. But also it's essentially 3 different games on top of each-other: it's the puzzle of figuring out the rules (like The Witness like you said), it's the actual puzzle, and then it's the speedrunning part of the game (that I think no-one is going to attempt tbh xD) so I think that maybe I still managed to bite a little more than I could chew. Regardless, thank you so much for your feedback! ^^
@automatonvx @willops @aquanim @nomelu @jimbly Thanks so much for playing and for your feedback :)
A very unique take on platforming, using time as a currency is interesting, and caused me to blow up a few times before I figured it out. Don't have much negative to say. I think the game could be expanded, now is a bit too simple, just not sure how. Nice work! Screenshot_156.png
Wish there was audio, but great work nonetheless! Thanks for coming to the stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2588456375
That was an unusual entry for sure. The atmosphere and the simulated OS is perfectly executed. I would have liked a bit more, though. The narrative is very ambiguous, which I guess is meant to let you dwell in these feelings and put yourself in the shoes of whoever this person is, and this job which feels vain and pointless. I just would have liked a bit more to do, but I get that it's a compo entry so you didn't have a lot of time. The narrative makes you ask some good questions. The music is nice. Well done!
I love the grahics. I tried to do something similar in the past, trying to make it look like medieval paintings and illuminations, but you did a far better job, great stuff! The music is great too!
In terms of gameplay, the idea has a lot of potential, but I would have liked if there was a bit more to it. Right now it feels a bit too easy, you can practically win by accident. The real challenge is essentially trying to fit the items in the grid, but it doesn't really seem that hard too. This might be a balancing issue, and I know it's tough to balance an jam game (especially a puzzle game). Not sure how I would have done it differently.
I found a bug where you can overlap the crystal ball and the praying beads: Screenshot_150.png
Regardless, you did a great job fitting it all together. A very solid entry. Screenshot_151.png
Crazy game, it was intense to play on stream :o Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2588456380 Thanks for watching!
Nice work! I enjoyed playing it on stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2588456378 Thanks for coming ^^
Simple, straightforward and funny. It wasn't as rage-y as I expected, though I did curse quite a lot. Not much negative to say about it. Good job!
Very nice and relaxing game, I liked playing it on stream. Thanks for submitting ^^ Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2588456381
Such a simple game, but very relaxing and atmospheric. I enjoyed this. There isn't much negative for me to say about it, it's really well put together.
Screenshot_160.png
The idea is a very nice take on the theme. I also think you executed it well, I really like turn-based games like this. I would have liked if you could see the weapon details while you're choosing the loot after you defeat each enemy because right now it's covered by the loot window. I also wasn't able to really get good synergies or at least didn't find any while playing. I guess I'm very prone to RNG. That's about it, menu and settings would be nice but I get time was limited. Good job! Very creative entry
Screenshot_152.png
Lovely entry, so polished and well executed. Great work! Thanks for coming to the stream, here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2594438642
"I am a driver, and I... drive" Brought a tear to my eye.
Thanks for coming to the stream! Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2588456376
@timo5034 I did some tests and I'm pretty sure me streaming with OBS while playing was causing most of the lag, just so you know.
Complex but fun game, I enjoyed playing it on stream. Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2588456377 Thanks for coming ^^
