LD39 — Running out of Power

Assault//Battery by tuism 2017-07-31T11:57:28Z

Hilarious mechanic! Great Job! :D

Power Crisis by Gulyasarni66 2017-08-01T12:03:53Z

Wow, very polished graphics-wise! Took me a while to get the hang of the controls, but managed to figure it out after a while :D Great Job!

⚡ Swing Bolt ⚡ by AJ Weeks 2017-08-02T12:47:08Z

Very nice! I used the "swinging" mechanic for my entry as well, but went in different directions. Always nice to see how people come up with different ideas :)

Had a problem with the WebGL version thought. Only saw black when I started the game. The battery and Menu was shown but as soon as the game started only Black until the battery would run out and then some read would appear just before dying.

Fluffy Racer by pfeyffer 2017-07-31T23:42:31Z

Looks quite polished for such a short time! Some bugs and difficult to figure out at first but very nice once I figured it out ;)

LD39:Running out of energy by johnnwfs 2017-08-02T00:12:14Z

Nice little game :) One thing: Moving diagonally is much faster than just left, right up or down ;)

Defend Home: Mars by sgt3v 2017-08-01T23:51:46Z

Very nice game! Gameplay is quite solid and the graphics are beautiful!

Spacy adventure by egordorichev 2017-07-31T11:56:05Z

Love this! Especially the graphics and particle effects are beautiful! I'm sure it's not your first time if you can produce something this polished in such short time. Great Work!

Orbiting Home by Zeknir 2017-08-02T12:37:05Z

Wow nice work, a lot of different elements to this game. Hope You keep on improving on it post-compo!

Necromancy by N4tticus 2017-07-31T11:24:26Z

Great game! Nicely done :) Had some trouble starting it too but worked on the second try.

Power or die by Aterlamia 2017-07-31T11:51:01Z

Fun game. And quite complex for such a short time. My incompetence killed everyone the first tries because I had no idea what was going on. Also, on game over the game gets stuck for me and I have to reload (which is a pain with Unity :P ). But it's still a job very nicely done!

Royalty by mdacoffee 2017-08-01T11:46:47Z

So I colonised everything possible and the game ended but I didn't know whether or not I had won or lost :D

UI could be less messy, but getting that right in such short amount of time is quite difficult. Good job overall! ;)

Lantern by Kaban 2017-08-02T00:06:24Z

Wow, Mood winner right here :D Very simple game but the audio and visuals were great

Alien Swarm by oxrock 2017-07-31T23:40:14Z

Nice game! Aiming was a little difficult but I liked the graphics and sounds :)

Asteroid Miner by Roka Josh 2017-08-01T23:58:22Z

Very nice little game :) Definitely reminded me of asteroids but the gathering added a nice mechanic. Loved the sound too!

Will Power by William Derksen 2017-07-31T11:33:13Z

Took me a while to figure this out. Great concept though, especially love the scenery and mood of the graphics you're using!

Space Miner by ytaha 2017-08-01T00:21:34Z

Good job, looks really nice and is quite fun as well! I would suggest adding some friction to the meteors ( even though it's space) or giving the Mining beam some attracting, I kept pushing the meteors away while mining them ;)

Bribe or Die by LeonLaci 2017-08-01T00:16:44Z

Sound was awesome! Couldn't really figure out when to bribe or not before coming to the comments. Great Effort on the art as well!

Delivery Drain by Thorneto 2017-07-31T18:29:50Z

Thought the map was a bit confusing at first, but after getting fired once I managed to understand it ;) Fun game, and graphics look very nice as well!

Energy Scraps by Royoyo 2017-08-01T11:12:19Z

Great graphics and visuals but like others said gameplay is lacking a little. Hope you get around to that post-compo ;) Great work though!

Battery Pack by shashwat 2017-07-31T11:29:54Z

Very nice progression. Beginning felt like a really simple first attempt at a game due to the simplicity but got quite engaging later :) Good job!

Battery Bunny by Sprouts 2017-07-31T12:03:51Z

Lol funny game! Think the movement should be stronger though, I felt like the bunny moves too slow to actually dodge something

Rats will kiss the gunner's daughter by Mr.Houdini 2017-08-01T11:34:02Z

Quite unique concept, but took me a while to understand whats going on. Love the visuals too, Good job!

Bad Guns by DrDolan 2017-08-01T11:42:16Z

I would make the weapon pickup automatically instead of pressing shift. Also I don't understand why the energy sometimes goes to 0 when I have full Ammo and pick up another weapon. I love the sound effects and graphics of the enemies though! Great job :)

Extincti by FooMar 2017-08-01T12:08:33Z

Loved the idea :D Could really make this into a full fledged game if you add some more elements

Powerless Miner by MajamiLTU 2017-08-02T00:04:38Z

Audio was a little repetitive but loved the graphics and very unique and fun gameplay :) Also very impressive level progression for such a short time!

Geocentric Survival by Bewelge 2017-07-31T12:02:05Z

@cynical-monkey I had the same idea about making the stars/time move backwards if the sun moves backwards, but I felt like that mechanic would take me too long to get working. I might implement it after the Compo :)

@frostdragonliz If you hit meteors with the earth (the blue thingy) you will lose health. If you hit them with the sun you gain energy :) Other than that you gain energy by keeping the sun rotating (clockwise) around the earth. Every full rotation completes a day and grants you 10 Energy.

Geocentric Survival by Bewelge 2017-08-01T00:34:05Z

Thanks everyone :)

@thorneto At a certain point it actually gets easier because the Meteors give more Energy, so that you can heal pretty much non-stop by clicking. Works until the meteors one-hit you :D

Torch Boy by FloBar 2017-08-01T23:53:25Z

Simple but quite fun! :) Great job!

Super Charged by Manumeq 2017-08-01T12:01:56Z

Great job on the graphics! Like tinykidtoo said, gameplay could use some tweaking to make it more interesting, but well done :)

Alone in the night by Rakowu 2017-07-31T11:43:39Z

The player should be stopped from leaving the scene.. I love the mood/effect of the music and art, but I wish everything was larger, I could barely read the font. Very nice work though!

Locomatomatic by SecretC 2017-08-01T11:36:14Z

Love the graphics You used!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Holiday Parking Panic! by FormalCloud 2017-12-04T10:18:06Z

Haha Great Game! Cars drive about as reckless as they do in GTA :D Great atmosphere with fitting art & music! Very nice job!

Health Hazard by PeculiarCarrot 2017-12-04T03:19:16Z

Very fun and innovative! :-) It's very difficult from the beginning though and the controls feel a little clunky, took me a couple of tries to get even past the third wave ;) Great Job altogether!

Puzzle Progress Prototype by saucygames 2017-12-04T10:11:53Z

Nice Little Game :-) Mechanics remind me of those old 3x3 sliding puzzles where you have to complete a picture. I don't really understand by what logic the Blue stones move though. Also, Reload Scene seems to always restart Scene 1, not the scene currrently selected. Great Job, definitely has potential to be further developed into a full puzzle game!

The Star War 2: The quest for more money by eerongal 2017-12-04T10:56:03Z

Haha I usually don't know what to rate for "humour". I do know for this entry :)

Great job, although I felt the tasks were all a little too long considering they were all rather tasks of the type "do this annoying thing for a while so that you can see how the story progresses". Story was enticing enough to do them anyways though ;)

unipsychle by niksg 2017-12-04T10:58:30Z

Reminds me of Qwop. Although MUCH easier to pick up :) Great job!

Drink Drink DRINK by baknik 2017-12-04T10:46:03Z

Great game and well implemented! :D Couldn't make it past 28 beers. Just a suggestion but I feel like a "bottle-opening-sound" would've been a nice addition every time a new bottle appears ;)

Cardhoard by HacksawUnit 2017-12-04T10:42:11Z

Wow! For 48 Hours this has great polish and feels very balanced. Also apart from taking a minute to figure out that I break boxed with "K" it was incredibly easy to pick up. Played a good 3 Minutes on my first try :)

Sorted by Ryan Temple 2017-12-04T03:25:20Z

Great Job, very fun idea :) I don't know what everyone else is talking about it being too easy. I was struggling from the beginning but maybe it's time for bed for me ;-)

Sunken by Tay 2017-12-04T10:38:13Z

Fun Concept :) One Question:Why do I sometimes die upon entering a Ladder?

Not a fan of the double tap either, but that's something for you to change in the future, Great Job for now! :-)

Red eats Yellow! by Xynal 2017-12-04T10:20:45Z

Great job :) Like you said it's not really finished and missing some possibility of failure but it's a good start :)

somethin' Ducks! by Bewelge 2017-12-04T10:01:57Z

Thanks for the kind feedback everybody :-)

@mrphil , Thanks, I was trying to implement it in a way that if you play safe you can survive almost for ever, but if you want to score quicker you'll have to take risks. Glad it somewhat worked out ;) Was planning on adding bread and only spawning other ducks and letting ducklings grow everytime you eat bread. Unfortunately didn't have time to. I only implemented the mechanism of the chicks growing at all like an hour before the deadline. Before that the game had even less aim :P

@peculiarcarrot , You wouldn't believe how many chicks haven't made it through development :'(

@kkneville , Thanks for pointing that out, turns out it was a typo. Now I just noticed that I maybe shouldn't have pushed the fix on the branch I've submitted to the compo :P Will try to seperate that later so that the entry is in the state it was at 3am :)

@great-bobleny , Thanks ! That's a pretty high score. Much higher than I've ever done myself :D

somethin' Ducks! by Bewelge 2017-12-09T23:16:05Z

@mess110 I just added a post-compo version where you can knock the crocodiles by hitting the back of their heads!

@xynal , @taiku, @saucygames, @tay, @radmccool, @alottabit, Thanks for your feedback :-) You're all right, the crocodiles were too easy, I added snakes and made the crocodiles more dangerous in the post-compo version.

Everybody else: Thanks for playing and leaving such kind feedback. I very much appreciate it :-)

Gophergeddon by Ham and Swiss 2017-12-04T10:26:39Z

Very cool idea! :) A nice addition would be a nicer visual indicator of what types are needed/ overpopulated at each point. But great job for a jam ;)

LD42 — Running out of space

Rising Tide by smilewood 2018-08-13T00:46:17Z

Fun idea, didn't have any problems winning without any planning so it could have been a little more challenging ;) Great Entry though! Also, it only says "YOU" after winning. I think you forgot the "Win" ;)

Death Remains by DuckyDaniel 2018-08-13T01:09:47Z

Good job! That's a really great mechanic! Becomes quite hard with all the dead zombies blocking very quickly

Shrinkage by woubuc 2018-08-13T08:19:24Z

Very nice mechanic on top of original Tetris. Didn't make it too far though but I don't think I ever made it far in an original Tetris game either ;)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

The Hunt for the Plastic Bag by Bewelge 2021-05-01T12:44:43Z

@barelyevengames, @neonjeff, @forevertrash I really finished coding the logic up until the last minute. Most of the values I set for money gain & upgrade costs were pretty much placeholders I came up with on the spot without having time to test it. Sorry for that ;-)

@swen Nice, that's further than I ever made it without cheating :D That's a nice idea for the radar. I thought about adding the ability to disable the radar for certain types of fish/trash, but marking "special" items would also be interesting.

I've already spent some time fixing the upgrade costs and adding some other ideas I didn't have time for. I'll post a link in the coming days / weeks.

And thanks for playing everybody!

Tiny Dungeon by Swen 2021-04-27T13:09:18Z

This felt amazingly polished. Great Job! You should consider extending it with more content :-)

LD49 — Unstable

Serene Stability by jharler 2021-10-05T11:27:27Z

This felt quite polished for a jam game. Like others have pointed out it's a bit too much trial and error. Maybe you could improve that by showing more of the trail before launching, so that you can already see how the trail is affected while placing repulsors.

Orbital Turbulence by Bewelge 2021-10-03T20:06:52Z

@adan1032 Hey, I mixed up the "HTML5(web)" and "Source Code" Links. It should be fixed now. You can play the game on the github.io domain. You could also play it with the source-files, but you'll have to serve the files over a local webserver.

Orbital Turbulence by Bewelge 2021-10-04T15:55:13Z

@qthree Here you go, I made a version where the planets attract each other:

https://bewelge.github.io/Ldjam49---with-planet-gravity/

Let me know if you manage to get past level 2 :D

Orbital Turbulence by Bewelge 2021-10-05T11:23:28Z

@qthree Nice one! I couldn't even get past level 2 in that version. I guess creating a game in no way guarantess that you will be any good at it ;-)

@binroot @lcstark @smilewood @refrax295 @joao-ribeiro @slimmerburger Thank you for playing and thank you for the kind words! :-)

Dominion by Shootboots 2021-10-04T15:12:01Z

This is a really great concept. Could definitely see a full game built around it!

gone. by wafflecomposite 2021-10-04T15:03:09Z

Clever concept and great implementation of it! :-)

Tables & Tremors by SlimmerBurger 2021-10-04T15:07:24Z

This was quite fun. The art style and visuals are simple but quite pleasing. Well done!

Dranker by mihail 2021-10-05T11:36:09Z

Nice work :) Gameplay is simple but I really liked the graphics. The blurgh sound when picking up bottles is a little too loud

Stable Inc. by CorbenG 2021-10-04T15:19:27Z

Cool concept and the art looks really consistent. Very nice work for 48 hours!

Core of Color by qthree 2021-10-04T15:24:22Z

Fun game :) But my green blob kept going turquoise and subsequently rejecting me :-/

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

autoball by torcado 2022-10-09T18:12:50Z

My favorite entry until now. Managed to get to stage 102 after figuring out how to create chain-reactions using the cannons. Great job!

Viam in tenebris by Bewelge 2022-10-03T19:31:37Z

Thanks everyone for playing, rating and leaving feedback!

@rob6566 Was trying to implement enemies in the last 15 minutes but couldn't finish it in time. I think some kind of enemies or obstacles that appear over time and create some pressure to actually finish a maze quickly.

@paroxysmal In hindsight I agree, that 25 is too much. Was planning on adding some enemies in the later levels :)

@googlypoo Haha yea I started doing that too. Didn't have time to rethink the game-mechanics though :P

@wavertron @vimmagic @mdotedot Haha yea, the game definitely could use some form of upgrade system for the player speed / light range and some other things. Maybe if I'll add those things in a post-comp version :)

@matt-green Thanks! You didn't miss anything, the mazes just get bigger and require more keys to open the exit :)

@fifut Haha thanks, I wasted way too much time on that and got into quite a bit of time pressure implementing the menu in the end ;)

Paper Prison by Fifut 2022-10-03T00:11:25Z

Haha this was hilarious. Great job!

Birdwatching by Iguanana 2022-10-09T17:35:49Z

Great idea and execution overall!

Feed the Deep by Matt Green 2022-10-03T19:29:34Z

Very nice work! Didn't quite get what to do until a couple of tries, but then it has a nice incremental feel with constant pressure to it!

LD55 — Summoning

Devotion - A fairytale by daandruff 2024-04-18T16:43:11Z

No idea what I was doing but I got to the end, so good job on game design! Also love the art style, audio and atmosphere. Feels very polished!

Feed the Eggheads by candlesan 2024-04-15T08:58:06Z

Really innovative idea and lovely execution! Well done!

Only thing I think could be improved is speeding up the scrolling up and down or maybe zooming out instead when there are floors added, since it becomes difficult to keep track which floors are full.

Flockin' Demons by Bewelge 2024-04-18T16:33:47Z

@ben-albert Thank you! I noticed that about the audio, but I was pretty annoyed by that particular sound, so I chose to de-prioritize fixing that :D

@meepster Thanks! I agree on the complexity. Just had to keep it simple in the short time frame. I do wish I'd had time to implement some power-ups though :)

@impalpable @dzejpi Thank you! Really happy you liked the sounds and atmosphere. I'm not good at picking sounds so that aspect is always a bit lucky for me

@owtuvammo @sstyles93 Thank you!! :)

@denvil Oh right, I believe Firefox gets really slow when you mix WebGL and 2d-Canvas. Happy that you got it working fine in Chrome though!

@xeltide The minions sometimes bug out and will insta-kill / insta-die when they hit an enemy. The best strategy I found while testing was making the enemies follow you with your minions behind the enemies and then quickly circle back behind your minions. The enemies have a tighter turning radius so they will then collide into your minions.

Veggie Attack by epb9000 2024-04-18T17:00:29Z

Very cute entry! Well done! Won by spamming only void mages :D

Orcs vs Skeletons by Xahon 2024-04-15T15:54:55Z

Very nice concept and the drawing part was more elaborate than I was expecting. Well done!

But I'm not sure whether it's unbalanced or I'm really bad, but after 5 tries I haven't managed to kill a single orc :D

Conjurer's Cup by dreamscale 2024-04-18T17:03:51Z

Really innovative idea! Mana felt a bit too slow, making it a little random who scores but with a little more balancing this could be really fun!

For a game jam this is awesome though, well done!

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-15T15:59:55Z

This is a great entry! I love the controls - really innovative!

Pictomancer by RobLaro 2024-04-18T17:24:18Z

Wow you invented a really cool new mechanic for idle games! Love this!

Reverse Rituals by freakyzelga 2024-04-18T16:39:00Z

Very clean and polished entry, well done! Also got the naughty Santa :)

Summoning the bigger one by AlxJE 2024-04-15T16:06:30Z

Wow really great concept and execution, given the time frame! Well done!

Think puzzle games are notoriously hard to get right but you actually had me thinking before I could solve it :)

Super Pal Summoner! by Meepster 2024-04-18T16:53:16Z

Wow that actually kept me busy for quite a while! Great entry!

Duck Spawner by Myse 2024-04-18T16:36:36Z

Brilliant. :)

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Card And Run by bloodyaugust 2018-04-23T02:12:21Z

Very interesting concept. Got a highscore of 14 :)
