Awesome graphics. The game is a bit hard to decipher at first. An easy first tutorial level would be nice to teach you.

Cool game and I agree that it take a bit to figure out what is going on.
Definitely. The game is very fun, but it is quite hard to understand. But all in all, it is a great game!
I couldn't quite figure out how it was supposed to work but the artwork was really well done. Was good for a laugh at the very least.
I liked the intro and the art style very much. Nicely presented. However, I did have to reassure my daughter that no unicorns were harmed in the making of this game... right?
I don't get it, what do I do? The rules are not at all clear, so I will have to drop your game.
That said, the graphics are reeeaaaallllyyy cute indeed :-D
Cute game and funny description. I agree there should be a tutorial level or some other way to teach you the gameplay.
This was a fun game to play, once I learnt how the game properly worked. The graphic style is quite nice and i like your idea for the game. If you were to keep working on this though, you should add in a tutorial, because it was difficult to learn how to play.
awesome game, especially love the idea and graphics.
Nice graphics. The tutorial is kind of long; I skipped it at first but had to read it to understand the game.
**Also** the maximum power increases beyond 20 even though the maximum is displayed as 20.
Other than that, it's pretty much fun!
I keep getting the feeling I'm missing something. Sometimes the unicorns disappear right away when I put them in the petting machine, sometimes they don't. I can't figure out how you're supposed to get more power out of them once they're in the machine, and I can't seem to keep the repairs up.
I think a little more instruction, or clarification, would make this a more compelling game.
Adorable though.
Looks quite polished for such a short time! Some bugs and difficult to figure out at first but very nice once I figured it out ;)
Like the art and the mood, but I agree you need to add a tutorial. Nice work!
Funny game, and to repeat what others said, some things were a bit unclear at first, but I figured them out!
A lovely concept! Like others, I found it a bit confusing at first (would have liked a guided tutorial level, or just a help button), but once I figured it out, it was really fun. Nice work!
** First Impression **: That looks interesting
** Graphics **: That's were your game really shines, the style fits the theme really well, also the introducation with the images was a great idea :)
** Gameplay **: As others have said, even tho i read the tutorial i had initially a hard time to grasp what the game was really all about^^ after i understood it, i really like the puzzly concept of your game :)
** Overall **: A really good entry especially since it's a compo entry :)
I have to echo the other comments, I had to have a try or two before I fully understood what I was doing but once I did I really enjoyed it overall. I had a strange bug where I was on 0 hp but then picked up some repair items and I was good, it might have had something to do with a shield item or maybe it was supposed to happen, who knows but I couldn't recreate it. This would make a nice tabletop game that's easy to make and build upon.
I like your idea of using different looking unicorns. In general the game looks nice. It took me some time to understand how to play but afterwards it was fun!
Interesting concept. Took me many attempts to actually understand how it works. I believe your game would greatly benefit from some extra info (for instance damage seems to apply immediately upon grabbing something, while energy gain does not, which was confusing at first). Having said that, it's a simple, yet incredibly challenging game, and it's actually rewarding to see the outcome of what you hope were smart decisions.
The apparent randomness in each set of options makes it a little unfair. It seems entirely possible to lose early in game due to having only options that deplete your HP without giving you enough energy back. Conversely, this also means that if you are incredibly lucky (getting many low-risk, high pay options in a row) you can finish the game rather quickly.
I think it's a really polished entry, especially for being compo, and with a bit of balancing and clearer instructions I can see many people getting addicted to it.
Good job!
I had a lot of trouble understanding what was going on at first, and the intro text was not nearly enough to explain how things worked. As others have said, this could really have benefited from a tutorial level.
Once I started figuring out what was going on (e.g. you can attack unicorns to decrease viciousness, you can place unicorns on shields, etc.), it turned out to be pretty fun. It's a pretty interesting optimization puzzle, although right now there aren't too many options: you only have 3 possible things and there is a hard constraint on your health not going below 0, so I felt it wasn't too hard to make the "best" decision. Also, I would have liked if repairing or replacing cost some fixed amount (maybe increasing each time you used it) instead of half your current amount, because right now it almost feels like what you do in the early game doesn't matter (if you do well at the beginning, then it gets neutralized when you have to repair a few times, so whether you win somewhat depends on how lucky you get at the end).
One possible suggestion: I might suggest showing the player what's coming up in the near future, so they can potentially plan better. This could also mitigate the randomness a bit and add more strategy.
I also noticed some bug where if you take a unicorn and move it into multiple claws, then multiple objects end up spawning, with some overlapping each other.
Hopefully this doesn't sound too negative. Overall, you have a solid, creative mechanic, and I love the visuals, which are really well-done and polished (and the unicorns are extremely cute). And the overall premise of petting unicorns is just great. Nice job!
