Simple but funny game. The best part about this game was the comical death screens. Overall, I think the graphics could use some work + animation, but your music and humor is good. Congrats on finishing in time :)

I am suck at this kind of game, but I like this game it's interesting.
Simple, but fun game! Me likey!
Simple idea but still interesting and challenging. I think you should have made the shooting patterns more predictable, because right now it's a lot about luck. Death screens are nice touch.
I love the graphics of the game
Music a bit too loud, consider a slider to adjust it, else awesome game.
I enjoyed this one. I like the sense of progression with levels getting progressively harder. I also like that you added an element of strategy with the distances between outlets (and even some outlets being 1-time use).
My only comment would be that diagonal movement uses up your energy twice as quickly - presumably because your code is subtracting energy for both inputs. This means you end up moving vertically and horizontally only. Of course, that may be the intention, if so then ignore this :)
Great job, well done!
Nice puzzles and nice art. But the music was my favourite. Well done!
Some interesting ideas and fun text messages. I made it to level 8! The looping of the soundtrack is a bit off and it gets especially noticeable when the loop is short. Anyway, well done
Nice simple game, music did get a bit repetitive after playing for a while. Also link is up for my game now.
A good idea well executed. I liked the death screens. :)
Pretty cool entry! I think it's very funny, I like the music and the graphics, very creative and amusing =] One thing to note though -mathematically it's really great to move in diagonals since it's the same fuel but longer distance [in orthogonal 2d: sqrt(x^2 + y^2)]. Except for this imbalance it's a cool little entry :D
Nice puzzels and art! Great job :D
Simple but effective game :) Some work on graphics and animation would add so much!
That was surprisingly cool :) The idea behind it is sound, there's just some executional issues.
Predictability is a big thing - as it goes on it becomes less predictable, and that just becomes less interesting. Randomly getting struck by a randomly directed shot is no fun when the whole game seems to be about working out patterns.
Also feel like the current control scheme isn't a good fit for the gameplay - what if you controlled the player by clicking somewhere and he'll walk towards it? That makes the movement more predictable and more complex dodging can happen. The current movement can work but it just is too fast to control with much finesse.
The narration is a cute touch :)
The good: Good use of theme and entertaining death messages. The bad: The music got repetitive pretty quickly. Mixing it up a little more would've gone a long ways.
Overall, this is a nice little game. Congrats!
Very nice progression. Beginning felt like a really simple first attempt at a game due to the simplicity but got quite engaging later :) Good job!
Thanks everyone, for the feedback:
Takeaways: * I'll work on making the music better (longer before it repeats) * I'll make the shooting more predictable. * I'll add more animation in the graphics. At least they should turn when you're moving in a different direction.
Comments: * I think using Manhattan distance [Getting to (X, Y) costs X+Y] is something I will stick to. It's easier to think of this from the point of view of a puzzle game * If everyone loves the die screens so much, I'll add more art/variability there to make them even better.
Good level difficulty progression, felt like it ramped up at a good pace! The music was a fun little jingle (although short), and the game's writing (death messages, tutorial, etc) was very charming
Really nice little game. I was half expecting gravity to be a factor but it works nicely as it is. Well done!
This game is great fun, and the art was kind of funny. The music sounded kinda weird, but this game really shouts 'weird', so that works for this game. Overall, awesome job!
Interesting concept, simple but kinda of difficult :P
Level design was great! controls felt nice and fluid.
I liked the quirky, hand-drawn graphics, and the death-screen comments were funny.
Very simplistic graphics and game play I think we can all agree, but at least it's functional. It's also one of those games that are easy to understand but still harder than you'd expect, I like that.
Decent, although simple. Like it.
Fun game, good job!
"If it's any consolation, you were delicious"... Actually, it sort of is.
Quite fun, you had a great idea. Even repeated music helps, because it distorts you and that is good, more challenge. XD
Quite an upbeat game, the music makes even death sound enjoyable.
Nice puzzle game
Nice puzzle game! The graphics and music is basic but the puzzle is solid. I like trial and error and try to beat the challenges. The initial tutorial was good but it didn't explained consumable charging station and bullet types which caused confusion for me later on when the charging station suddenly disappear and I was wondering why I didn't die when I get hit by the bullet (blue ones). Then i thought bullet doesn't hurt you and then I got hit by a black one..Not until later i find that there are little hints at the top but it wasn't very noticable. The game's difficulty is pretty well controlled however I don't like the randomly fired bullets, especially the one at level6. It felt too random and when you see it fires towards you, you are probably dead because it travels really fast. Also the enemies' hitboxes are bit big. A few times I thought i didn't hit the enemy but I still died. Other than that it was pretty solid. Well done!
I was only able to get up to level 7 so ignore some of these suggestions if they already exist beyond this point: - Having to start right back from level 1 after dying is not so fun because you then have to spend too much time doing something you've already done. Randomly fired bullets mitigate this a little bit because the challenge is slightly different but randomness itself tends to lessen the puzzle effect of a game because it makes it less solvable. I'm not saying that the player shouldn't lose any progress at all for failure, but reducing those consequences a little bit makes a game much more enjoyable for most. - Consumable charging stations didn't mean much when there isn't a need to back track. Maybe if you required the player to pick up a key before going to a portal you can have the player explore more of your puzzle and give consumable stations more meaning. - Blue bullets that freeze you have very little effect on how you solve each puzzle. Getting hit by one rarely requires you to change your course of action because it has no effect on your battery power. One suggestion might be to have bullets that push you back a little bit when hit. It's already been said but the bullets should be more noticeable and a little slower so the player has time to make decisions. - Alternate means of movement (doesn't necessarily have to be originating from the player's abilities, it could be environmental or enemy-driven effects like suggested earlier) can spice up your puzzles quite a bit.
I like the idea. The game seemed quite easy for the first few levels, but it did ramp up in difficulty quite nicely. I feel like the main area for improvement is in audio. The looping music isn't fun to listen to, and the lack of sound effects makes the game feel a bit empty. However, I actually like the art style :D though animations would've been nice. Overall, a decent game with potential.
