THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING OUR GAME AND LEAVING AMAZING FEEDBACK, sorry it took me so long to get back to you all <3 I will get to most of your games sometime this week, although I know my teammates have been out rating games as well :) Due to the hurricane and all the damages to our house, I've had a really busy week and just haven't had as much time as I wanted for playing LD games, but I WILL DEFINITELY GET TO THEM ALL :3
@sam-the-man I was really happy with the outcome given all the time and power constraints across the weekend haha. The stress of the leaks ended up matching the stress I was feeling in real life, as my roof had blown off and one of our ceilings caved in and leaked A LOT!
@arkinrev It was definitely the most difficult circumstances i've ever had for a game jam! We only had one laptop and one monitor to use. Luckily our artist lived in another country and wasn't affected by the hurricane!
@human-writes-code I'm sure you are amazing at games!! It is indeed, INCREDIBLY difficult haha. I unfortunately was so tired and exhausted from all the things going on, that I didn't really play test it to see the true difficulty. After placing pipes all weekend myself, I forgot that others would need more time xD
@mrmaico The hurricane happened the weekend before the jam, but our power was out for 10 days! It came back on the day of submissions, mid day on Monday. Luckily, everyone was okay but it was hurricane Fiona, and it hit really hard unfortunately. I can see how a trackpad would make this really difficult, I had actually hoped to get some keyboard shortcuts in for grabbing a piece and placing it and what not, but I never got a chance haha.
@triangletriangle The art was amazing, I don't usually work on a team but this time given that there was only one laptop in our house (I live with frozenfire) and so we worrked together! But the perk of this meant that I also got to work with our artist friend, who usually just works with frozenfire. When it came to balancing, I was just so tired when I submitted that I completely forgot to do it xD So I understand that it's insanely hard to beat haha, but it can still be really satisfying at times when its longer between new pipes.
@sterco-raro We did basically make the same game!! Great idea haha, but your game was definitely a tad more broken, but also easier xD Ours was unintentionally way too difficult haha.
@angrybeard The RNG wasnt exactly as I had wanted it to turn out. I wanted to check and make sure the drain was a reasonable distance from the starting pipe (the first at least) but I had some issues with the pathfinding it took me about 2 hours longer than I wanted and I had to cut that part out sadly. So sometimes its SUPER easy to beat haha
@fever When I was making it and testing it, I had the pipes coming a lot slower and it's really satisfying to make a longer connected pipe. So I wish I had been able to get that to translate better to the final version, but I actually might make a better, post jam version because we had a lot of fun playing it :)
@steamdr4gon @thatzniko @eugenik thanks for playing :3
@jhax I defintely wasn't kidding haha, it didn't feel as difficult for me because I spent all weekend playing it and testing it so I didn't mean for it to be such a mean game at times xD But our house was also leaking from the hurricane and so the theming of the game really hit home for me :P
@waterfowler My actual game idea was that there would be rounds, and each round would get progressively more difficult. Except I focused on the gameplay and everything else that wasn't the rounds, and by the time I got to the end I just didn't have enough time. We only had probaly 50-60% of the time we normally would have due to power constraints, but I really want to make another version that properly implements all that. The art was done by our amazing artist and the sounds managed to fit in perfectly (:
