Similiar to replica i like this!

I'll return to this later ... it seems to be a bit longer. For now, my running commentary up to this point:

- slick! outdone yourself with the intro -- _very_ atmospheric

- Text sometimes fades before I can read it (was looking at some other stuff on the screen). Ah, wait they are hovers. Right. - 'No I can't trust me?' -- Ah when seeing that ending, it may not have been a typo after all.

- drove to Jason, before I got to work, but nothing happened ah I see, I have to drag a package to his 'in-box'

- on a related note, the text for the 'Artisitic Ending' overlaps the title

- hm the left/right thing is for the interface, as expected ... a nice touch, but does it matter much in a point-n-click?

- somehow I didn't even get into the RedWood app until my second playthrough ... it's great to slowly figure things out this way :-) otoh, I hope people don't miss stuff because of that, you know how the rating always goes

- shame I can't copy the hex-code Aito sends me, typing it in (not doing that manually -- I'm on holiday) to the translator was a bit of work I think the next one is a YT video? maybe? ... hm though. backwards?

The music sets the mood perfectly. Found myself confused in a few cases on what to do. Overall though very intressting. Was playing it for quite a while. I like it. Good work.

tannimun 2022-04-06 19:22

I liked the atmosphere and artwork, it's easy to get stuck so will have to play some more to get to the end. All in all it seems like a very good entry :)

collin-visser 2022-04-06 19:28

Really well done - good atmosphere

vonfuzzius 2022-04-06 19:29

I can't give you a rating since the car kept jiggling off screen so I didn't actually play a lot of the game. I do wanna say that this game has a fantastic atmosphere which is why I'll definitely get back to it if you ever properly finish it.

angelicad 2022-04-06 19:30

Interesting idea! There's clearly loads of work here. I could have done with more in-game explanation about how the boxes work but I got there in the end. Well done!

joror 2022-04-06 19:37

@VonFuzzius Ah! Sorry to hear the car went haywire - haven't seen that bug before. Anything specific you were doing?

@cedric86 , @tannimun, @angelicad - Indeed I need to add better hinting / tutorial! Bit of polish I missed!

ugly-robot 2022-04-06 19:55

I love this - fantastic atmosphere, excellent implicit education of the player, lots of efficient emotional deliver. The difficulty of struggling with boxes, the dreary, uniform look of our town contrast with the small joys - Aito's little honk, our memories of artistry, and the allure of communicating with someone 'outside of the system'. So much worldbuilding packed into a game jam. Additionally, I love the little deatails: * Aito's little jostle as it drives along * "You you wood" - chipper, but imposing Very well done!

This seems like a long game. I haven't finished it and I have no idea how to finish it, but here's what I think of it so far Firstly, the amount of content you've managed to put in that text adventure game is really incredible, from the phone to the interactive boxes to the storyline, you had a lot of things to do in this world I like the art and the music aswell, really fits the vibe, well done! Honestly the only thing I will say as a criticism is that you're kind of guessing what is interactive and what is not, the bubbles are helpful but it shows up on every object, I think a highlighter would do the trick there, but it's really a nitpick Well done!

hechi 2022-04-06 20:44

The atmosphere of the game envelops you and completely traps you. Telling a story by interacting through a smartphone is a concept that fascinates me, I would love to see more games that implement something like this. Everything feels quite polished, great work!

jeremy-selwyn 2022-04-06 20:48

The temptation for Jason was too strong  ended up with 'artistic freedom'. Really enjoyed the game. Super impressed with UI! the phone was super cool, the driving screen, the whole loading packages in.

vonfuzzius 2022-04-06 21:02

@joror I started, grabbed the phone with my right hand, turned the light on, used the door, locked the car, clicked on the bottom right map icon (the place where the boxes are) and drove there. The car began jiggling slightly, which I assume is intentional, but when I arrived at the place the car started rotating like crazy and flew off screen. I have encountered this bug every time I played and while the car did sometimes return, I also lost all my boxes this way.

joror 2022-04-06 21:18

@vonfuzzius Thanks for the steps! I will try to reproduce it. I use a physics trick to "unpack" the boxes in the delivery location that are placed on top of each other. I suspect that that is what is pushing you out.

rollyrollin 2022-04-07 23:15

Interesting, great atmosphere. Had me playing for a bit, though can't say I ever figured out what to do entirely. I think I may have fallen into a bugged state. I returned to my flat for some sleep and couldn't get AITO to go out driving again.

joror 2022-04-09 21:27

@vonfuzzius I think I fixed your issue, or at least I hope I did! (hard to replicate)

hilkojj 2022-04-11 18:21

I loved the amount of detail in here, like having to drag around the boxes. Great job, I love this stuff.

peter-ondus 2022-04-11 22:12

this game looks very nice, the mood is very strong and for some reason i really like the fact the packages have weights. really nice.

i somewhow managed to get into a state where i couldn't succesfully take a photo of any package even though they were all delivered to the right place by not delivering everything and then going to sleep.

Also when I went to the right location before i knew scan was a thing (boy it was fun clicking the right place on the map) I wasn't able to go deliver the package.

I'll have to gave a look at the game again later and finish it later, looks very interesting.

aguahervida 2022-04-11 23:02

I liked your artstyle and music it gives a great environment~

mMechanic wise tho, it was kind of the same as a point n click but with the 'death' all the time so I felt like nothing really changed as a gameplay~

the overall vibe felt quite consistent with itself making the experience feel more enjoyable overall, keep it up~!

saintchristopher777 2022-04-12 01:23

Wow, a lot of work obviously went into this. Great job!

polite-stories 2022-04-14 10:27

Damn this is my kind of game. The dreary atmosphere and the opressive music sets the tone for what kind of experience this will be, the way you made use of the screen worked so well and the amount of content is insanely impressive. Fantastic work! If I had to nitpick I'd say the UI and overall readability coul use some work, perhaps an outline when you're hovering over something interactable? It would be nice if the text was a little bigger too but these really are just nitpicks. Absolutely brilliant!

itskdog 2022-04-15 00:22

Nice mode and good interaction. I just struggled to know what to do. Some of the text to display took a while, but I didn't know I needed to wait for more text. Good job with the content.

guzzungo 2022-04-15 18:46

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the music

lilkrit 2022-04-18 11:05

Very solid game. The interaction with phone and other items is so good!

doot 2022-04-18 11:45

Very cool concept. It was really interesting to try to understand every interaction during the game. Also the mood was definitely there. Great job!

sarah 2022-04-18 22:25

There's so much more to this game than I expected! I loved being able to interact with all the things in my phone and in the world. When it gave me the option to leave or stay, I stayed and then it took me much longer than I care to admit to figure out that I should use my phone xD

But then there was texting, which was an interesting addition I didn't excpect. But I really liked the scanner and how the packages showed up in the app, that was cute. I also liked loading the van, and then also watching the packages fall over as i drove.

The driving/snycing mechanics were cool, and I'd like a game more focused on just that part and making efficient deliveries or something! Overall, well done!

xjcl 2022-04-21 19:19

I wasn't able to figure out which of my boxes actually were the one I was supposed to deliver, so I tried photographing each of them and they all said incorrect box and I gave up. Too bad since the game looks like it has a lot of depth and effort baked into it with apparently 6 endings!?
