Like everyone already said: nice puzzle concept!
The game didn't want to load in either Firefox or Chrome (linux), but this sounds like one of the most original ideas I've seen so far :)
Wow, very creative. Looks very polished (except for the triangle bug..). Nice theme/mood.
There's a bug though in Firefox, linux. There's a pink triangle in the middle of the screen. The game is still playable though luckily :)
Screenshot_2021-04-26_12-39-09.png
I actually quite liked the music. How did you make it?
Wow, the gameplay mechanic of the screen going down even if you're mining sideways is really interesting! Had some fun playing this :)
Nice work for only 4 hours :D
Nice work. I also think the game would be a bit more fun if the speed of the casting was a bit faster.
The music was very amusing haha! Also, the art is stunning. Great job.
It was kinda hard to avoid the obstacles, made me think of flappy bird. But I wish it was a bit easier because I died many times :P
The game feels quite complete, the shops, the gameplay, the graphics, the music. Well done (:
Nice work, the shooting sounds and feels satisfying. However, respawning with Z does not work for me, and the shooting sound still plays when I'm dead and pressing X
Very nice art, physics, and concept!
I could finish the game by just staying really close to the wall though, so that was not very challenging.
Screenshot_2021-04-26_20-31-46.png
The "my hands don't fit" part in the intro made me laugh out loud.
I like the spotlight effect with the shadows! Maybe you could randomize the pitch of the shooting sound everytime you shoot, now it sounds kinda repetitive.
As a Dutch person this was a surprising entry, lol.
The voice-over was a very nice addition!
The web version has a small bug where the (invisible) cursor for clicking the levers is not in the middle of the screen. But I have seen that bug before in another unity web game.
I kinda got packman vibes from this. Is the sewerage randomly generated?
Creative game mechanic, well done.
The game is a bit hard though, maybe give the player more time, or make the paths between the spikes less narrow.
Wow, this is a very very interesting and original game idea.
I can't seem to attack without getting hurt myself, but maybe I'm not trying hard enough. The sprite animation looks nice :)
I genuinely really enjoyed playing this! Exploring the underwater level with all the destinations, happy customers, great job!
I earned $600 :D
I had one customer that was already exactly at his destination, lol
Nice! Reminds me of the android game "Robo Miner". I spent ages playing that game.
The game mechanic is really interesting compared to most sea-diving games!
The flying bugs and me landing on someone's head made me laugh. Good job
The pixel art and the idea are nice. The result seems polished :)
Very very interesting concept. I got like a score of 500 with an accuracy of 83% in the first level. I felt like the music did not always change when I pressed buttons, so sometimes the buttons do not actually match the rhythm.
Yeah 48 hours isn't much. You could still update the game afterwards (just don't update your ludum dare entry here). How did you generate the music?
@niterich hey, thanks for the helpful feedback :)
Yeah I guess I could allow the player to move the pieces back up, I did not find that to be an issue during playtesting though.
I do really agree on the lose condition being strange, that's a design flaw. You would never lose, but you also wouldn't really gain extra score, because all the crossing blocks will give you negative score points as an punishment.
I might take some time in the future to give this game an update with a better lose condition. :)
This is the best pixel art I have seen from all the entries so far :D
The cover-art looks nice. Too bad it's for Windows only :(
Could you add a screenshot or video? I'm curious what the game looks like
Fun idea, was a little bit hard to understand at first. The video was helpful, maybe you could put the same explanations in the game itself.
The game looks nice, however, I don't fully understand the gameplay. Is there a tactic to get deeper without hitting a mine? Or is it just random luck?
Nice job anyway :D
This game feels pretty satisfying! I reached 1600 feet, but then the game started to glitch :( Anyway, good job
Looks and feels very polished. Using the arrow keys in this isometric game is a little bit confusing for me though, but I got used to it.
The visuals are awesome. It would be interesting to see this game getting updated with more content, and maybe the controls being a little less awkward.
Love the artwork! It would've been nice if the music continued playing while loading a new page, instead of restarting every time.
Nice game :)
This was pretty funny XD
I think this game really fits the theme :)
One thing I noticed regarding the parallax background: the movement of the background on the y-axis seems inverted. I think the hills in the background should move down as the unicycle moves up. The way it is now is visually a little bit confusing IMHO.
Nice concept, haven't seen this before. The music gets a little repetitive after a while though.
Cool! Seems like you had *kinda* the same idea as we had.
It's pretty hard to play fast with a touchpad instead of a mouse :P I like the idea though :D
The art in the game, as well as the cover art are very good. The game however did not load the first few attempts, might be the same problem @hwaet described.
Well, I *am* procrastinating now... :P
Nice game, small note: the sound of when I jump on someone's head seems like its coming from the right audio speaker/right side of my headphone, that was a little confusing.
Thanks for the comments, nice to see you all enjoyed it :D
#### Question for all the next commenters:
Did you finish the game (did you manage to successfully start Minesweeper.exe)?
@pcmaster great to hear you enjoyed it even though you didn't manage to find the solution! :D
#### A small hint for you and other people: Try smashing the PC with and without having a window clipped by our long forgotten hero..
Edit: ok, lol you figured it out while I was typing this..
@joonamo lol, I guess that still counts. Didn't expect someone to do it like this XD
Nice concept, and the art looks good :)
I like the art style. However I could not drag the bricks onto the screen :(
Nice idea with the unstable floor. I agree with @nefylem that it was a little confusing figuring out how to drive the tank because it was covered.
The idea really fits the theme. An animation of the satellite falling into shards would have been cool
Hey, I enjoyed playing your game (and I won yay), and I liked how you turned the concept of "feeling unstable in life" into this game with the self-care items and demons.
I liked stacking the things on top of the walking thing :P
I wasn't sure though what the goal of the game was, so maybe a short introduction/tutorial would've helped. Other than that it seems like a nice game
The cover art looks cool. Too bad though that the download link is to a github repo with a rar file.
Well done with the visuals! Gives me Breath of the Wild / Nintendo vibes.
I loved the amount of detail in here, like having to drag around the boxes. Great job, I love this stuff.
Simple but very well executed concept! Love the visual style
Haha, this made me laugh, well done.
I like how -when the lava is outside of the screen- the glow of the lava communicates to the player that it is nearing.
This is seriously fun. I loved slamming the sheep. The audio and visuals are very well done which contributes a lot to the fun.
I think you can turn the "wiggle your mouse to move the tank" workaround into a feature instead of a bug. Because it actually is a quite nice game mechanic.
I love the ascii animations, especially the 3D map and the intro. The soundtrack also helps setting the mood.
The bouncing/reflecting of the bullets could be improved since the angles are incorrect, it would help with playing the game more tactically.
I like the sprites :)
Nice job! I liked how more and more people showed up and became increasingly annoying since you have to push them away to get to your issue as fast as possible. I like visual style so far too, you should indeed consider adding some more visuals and sounds :)
An idea to make the gameplay more interesting: Maybe an issue requires something in order to resolve it. Like a broom or some detergent.
I like the visual style a lot! You could make the attack sound less repetitive by randomly altering the pitch of the sound every time.
I agree with the person above me. It would've been a nice challenge if you somehow had to play the music yourself using mouse of keyboard, and in the meanwhile stop approaching people.
Anyway, nice game, and I like how the audio set the mood!
I love the art, good job!
This is genius. I played somewhere until I had say what charity I support. I wonder how long the game keeps going after that, because it is a huge amount of voice acting that you did.
Nice little game! Simple but enjoyable game mechanics. I liked how the water particles coming from an off-screen crack could lead me in the right direction, maybe you could make the particles go a bit sideways too.
I liked how I could scratch my *ss before checking my email. On a more serious note: some simple background music would've improved the immersion/mood quite a bit :)
Anyway: Good job!
Cool concept of playing together with past players, and well executed! I'd have liked some visual/audio feedback when I got hit, that was not very clear to me.
@raptor851 thanks. I understand the issue with the controls. Actually I tried programming camera based movement, but that was made extra hard because the player can walk upside down or sideways, so I did not have the time to actually polish that.
Cool to see you pursued the tiny opportunity to actually survive the bite that was meant to be fatal :), I haven't been able to do it myself π
@adncoach Thanks! I agree. I am using quaternions and matrices, but [the code](https://github.com/hilkojj/flipkaas/blob/master/source/ecs/systems/CharacterMovementSystem.cpp#L171) was written in a rush. It has to account for the player walking on any side of a food piece **and** it has to keep the monster in screen at all times.
Cool story :) Seeing the aliens explode was satisfying.
Good job on the art! It was a lot of drawing I suppose.
The game played pretty nicely! However, after a while the blue ghost suddenly caught up with me and killed me, while I felt like I was doing great.
Lol, the music. This was pretty challenging. Nice job
Haha, I liked the game-over asteroid impact animation.
Lol, I loved how the game started in the menu.
I like the nice wobbly shader on the title!
Nice to hear you'll be working more on this. I liked it so far. The intense sound effect as the end nears really adds to the immersion! :)
I agree with @anaxie-studio that the design of the itch page is indeed immersive. I liked that a lot. Maybe it's a good idea to give the player a hint or indication on what is wrong when unsuccessfully trying to sign the form.
I actually managed to get an A, lol.
Good job! I would've loved to see an animation of my Ferrari exploding after crashing into some car.
The GameApi Builder and Codegen features of your engine are really interesting, nice work! I managed to load some of my 3D models, used in my jam game, in your 3D viewer :)
Revealing 3D objects using raytracing by moving your cursor is pretty cool, well done. I laughed when the first duck appeared.
Pretty funny take on the theme, well done! I wish the theme was 'Every 15 seconds', because it feels like I need a little bit more time to complete the tasks.
Nice work on your own programming language + interpreter :D
@timo-strating Thanks for the elaborative feedback.
@oliver-richmeier Yeah, I agree. I had too little time to design less linear levels, because there were a lot of technical challenges; ranging from visuals to physics. That was a very nice learning experience, though. I'm considering making a post-jam version with better level design :)
@cybek Haha yeah, the fourth level experiences a great lack of proper level design, because when I introduced the bananas to the game, I also introduced some very nasty physics-related bugs that took a lot of time to solve.
And yeah, you can export C++/OpenGL games to WebAssembly/WebGL using Emscripten!
@cavejohnson332 yeah the π level isn't designed that well. However, you should let the bananas fall through the portals so that they fall on the button on the platform you're describing. That way you don't have to get to the platform yourself.
Very interesting concept, it is very fun to play. It is actually easier to link shapes and colors to random words than I had anticipated.
Also reminded me of this "Bouba" and "Kiki" video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TDIAObsqcs
I liked the audio and the visual effect when walking!
An interesting take on the theme :) Nice and relaxing. It would be cool if you could place things on top of other things to create more complex castles.
Cute/funny game, I enjoyed it. Maybe some sound effects and/or music will improve the game.
I can't play the game because it crashes when I click on Level 1 :(. This is the output in the console: Screenshot from 2022-10-05 20-28-47.png
Loved the ending
This was fun to play. I was thinking about how in Tetris the (bottom) line disappears if you fill it with blocks, to relieve the player a bit. Maybe you can do something like that too, where if you combine packages really space-efficiently you get bonus points which result in the packages shrinking. This gives the player a way of buying more time/space.
:joy: I was too greedy, so I tried to put quite a lot on my plate, and then I launched everything in the air by trying to put one extra thing on my plate.
Very polished and nice puzzle game :)
This was fun to play, I like how it got faster and faster. I would've liked some cute cat sounds :)
This was fun to play, liked the cute moles and frogs.
I felt smart while figuring out the puzzles! One of the coolest mechanics I've seen so far.
Cool. I like that there were achievements, and I like the camera perspective.
@erivas-soulares Thanks! Do you mean the camera in the intro/outro, or the camera during gameplay?
@equalenergy yes! Although we altered the pitch of the voice lines of the boy slightly
@gamer-fates Yeah we used Lego Island and Super Mario 64 as inspiration. Not really, but maybe there will be after next Ludum Dare
Thanks for the feedback, the controls/camera will get some more attention next time.
For the people seeing this: How many eggs did you manage to rescue?
@devedse I played Super Mario 64 online and used it as inspiration for my own controls/camera implementation. That maybe explains why many people have issues with it? π π€
@archaeognathus π
This was fun to play. Playing this in multiplayer would be fun too I think. Also: I think having to click restart every time and having a countdown breaks the game-flow a little bit. Maybe having the game just say what the next two letters are, without requiring to click restart would make the game a bit more fast paced.
Oh, the jump animation of the cat is very cute.
Very original. I too would've liked a difficulty selection, or rather, have the game start very slow, to learn how it works, and then speed up over time.
Cool art and music!
Lol, loved the minigames. Especially the violent version of clippy.
The mechanics kinda gave me a Portal-vibe.
Nice, fast paced and easy to understand :D
Cool, my best score was something like 3060
The story was cool, I liked how the cursor turned evil and I had to fight it.
Loved the pixel art and the cute characters.
This game feels really polished! The music is also pleasing to listen to.
Very cool game, it feels very polished! The amount of graphical detail is great. I liked how the levels introduced new levels of difficulty.
Yay, finally found someone else that made a Dino game :D I liked that after a while I had to control a second dino. I get that there was little time, but maybe you can make a post-jam version with different level layouts, which would keep the game interesting to play for longer!
