Pico-8 Games are always very charming. I love the graphics in this one. The contols felt good when I understood them, it took some time for me to understand how to control the character, but that might just be a "me problem". The particles when digging do a whole lot to improve the feel of the game too.
This is really fun. The art looks great and polished, the music is fitting. And the writing is fun. Overall a great game.
This game is quite fun! The graphics are pleasing, same with the music. And it's really satisfying to see the roots growing, also fits the theme quite well!
@jeremia That's pretty true. I started off by making the enemies and then realized that they didn't really work at all with a health system. And now i didn't have enough time to redo enemies to fit a health system like that... It's getting late in Sweden, and I have school tomorrow.
@gimbalock Thanks! I started a bit late so I didn't have time to come up with a more fitting game for the theme. But at least the jam encouraged me to make a game!

@luciddh The enemies are faster on some computers, I'm working on fixing that now. I'm curious, on what level are the jumps too far apart?

@cakts Thanks a lot. I fixed the fast enemy problems but I seem to have missed it on the bats. The bats also fly upside down as I didn't have time to fix that even though its a simple fix.

This is both funny and kinda disturbing at the same time.
Fun and cute game! The graphics are nice and moody, and the lightning looks really good. The ropes are also really neat! I would love if you tried my game, it's also pixel art, but not nearly as nice as this art!
This game has a great atmosphere. It's super moody! The controls however felt very weird and floaty, but the sound and graphics nearly make up for that. I do wish that there were more sounds than the background ambience tough...
Very tense atmosphere when hiding from the enemies. The music is unsettling too, which is great. The artstyle was a bit mixed and the mechanics got stale after playing for a while.
Good game! It's fun for a while. And it's pretty moody with the ambience and pinging sound from the submarine.
This is a nice little game. I understood what I was supposed to do right out of the bat, but the controls were very fiddly. I think that more normal top down controller would work better than tank-ish controls.

Overall a pretty nice game. I like the backstory, it fits the theme since it's about delaying the inevitable rise of AI. It looks good. The lighting effects are great and add to the mood of the game. The gameplay is straightforward and solid in it's own right, but I wish that there was more substance. The gameplay did get a bit repetitive after a while, and it also had quite a bumpy difficulty curve. The first wave was very easy but it unevenly ramps up after that. The lack of good "crowd control" weapons made it tedious to complete the later waves since you have to kill lots of enemies with a slow single shot weapon.
A little more polish, content and depth would make this a very enjoyable experience, but still, it's a good game! Congrats to the entire team!
Good little game! I love the art style and the game overall feels great to play. I like how you gradually introduce more and more hazards, at least I think you do as it took me some time before the missiles appeared. One complaint I have is that the camera is a bit slow in turns which made it hard to avoid spikes or cones on the ground round the corners.
This is a nice little game.
Its very polished and I especially love the UI. The gameplay felt good but every time I played, my keypresses stopped registering after a while. This might be due to the fact that I played it in MacOS Safari, but I'm not sure. But when the game worked, it worked well and I had fun. Kudos for including a leaderboard too!
Nice and sweet little game. The style is simple but still charming, the game is fun too play, although I would like the "rounds" to be longer. The actual movement felt a little clunky, so I mostly used my chainsaw dash to get around.

My original intention was to have multiple enemies but I simply ran out of time. But I could easily reduce the amount of waves to make it a better experience. There is a boss instead of enemies on wave 10, but to be honest I’m not really that proud of it.
And about the slope issue, I noticed it at the last day and spent some time trying to fix it. I came up with a solution but that broke some other cases where you should have been able to jump, so I opted to not include that “fix”.

@pordrack The knocking sound is when enemies try to break down boarded up windows. But maybe there was a bug that kept it looping.
@ribout-horace Thanks for playing my game. You are completely right, the drops are luck since they are RNG, I was going to make a system that changes drop weight based on demand (So if you're low on ammo, then more ammo will drop) like in Half-Life 2, but I was quickly approaching the Deadline before I got to implementing that. The stair accelerating things is also a known issue, I also didn't fix It due to time constraints (and it's kinda fun to lob traps down stairs at lightspeed).
I like this game. It's quite fun. Although sometimes I felt like the sun was a bit unfair as it's a lot faster than the player. The switch from bat to human and then jumping also felt quite clunky, otherwise it's a really nice game with clean graphics and straight forward gameplay.
Really good and fun game. I didn't quite understand the health system at first but I got to grips with it later. The graphics really are great and the game packs some serious oomph!
