Pretty good old 8-bit game ! Very complex for a game made in only one week end ! Very impressive !

The music and the style work , but the lack of instructions made it hard to begin. + the fact that no feedback display when you lose and why you loose made it very hard to progress.

I had to quit before the end, but I reach the grenade mechanics. Overall, it was a great game ! Clever mecanics, good level design, a little confusing when it come to reach plateforme outside the camera's limit, and some bounciness make me rage many time, but the whole game is very clear and the game design is, like as said, clever ! It really became a mix between reflexion like puzzle solving and skill, where one can save you if you lack from the other one.

Ok, that was just fuck-ed up as it needs ! Good game, pretty simple but just by the graphism, audio and overall mood, it became really remarquable ! I didn't succeed to pass the fire (I try 5 times, the fire is the longest I can make) but it was unexceptedly enjoyable to play and to try to figure how to avoid babies at the end haha !

This is my favorite game for the Ludum Dare ! Seriously, I just love it ! It was simple, but you progress, you see the link to the theme, it became harder but not unfair, it always let you finish the level even if you take to much time in the late levels, it mix a little skill with puzzling, and I love how the player rythm the game by itself, via the main gameplay ! It was immediatly fun, even the little story make me laugh (not very loud and all, but still laugh !) It kind of remind me "escape goat" in many aspect, but made in one week end ! Awesome ! It just too clean to be !

Not bad. It was a little laggy on my little computer, but the game work pretty well, the puzzle was good. But due to the lag it became very tricky to do the simple jump. I had a big bug with the elevator , half of it was on the ground and it didn't lift me up to the top... But the graphism work well !

It was a pretty good games ! Unfortunatly, too much bug or bad design drag down the experience, like the spawn of ennemi who can kill the main character, or the shoots who become invisible due to weird rotation (could be a good feature if more controlled I think). In the other hand, the graphism (specially the boss) are pretty good ! But did not end very well together nah ? But I still apreciate it and well, the dash , the bullet hell, the sensation of being on a seroid version of arkanoid with alien was really fun ! To anticipate bounce on a corner to kill more ennemies became really fun ! Finally : music : holy greatness , it was so cool !

@strangeryann Who are you awesome stranger ? For the level 2 , it's made to be short (there is special day : a short one, a duel day, and a raining of food day) all in cycle of just 7 days ! (Initially, they would be an end with the raven. But like in all games, choices have to be made). And yeah, I should reajust the punishing of eating too much and the effect of previous days on your current speed is absolutely not visible unfortunatly... Thanks for your comeback !

@mambojambo : I aggree with everything you said, I want to make the other pigeon bounce, but then, it make the game to "arcade" and not in the mood, so I tried other thing , but it didn't work. The main good idea I have, I didn't make it in time (everything in the code was ready for it) and it involve the crow from end of day, and a cinematic. And thanks for you comment overall ! It's helpful !

@louis-denizet : Yeah, it was made by choice, but the dialogue who hint it ("Short day doesn't seem to bother you") was mess up and place in the wrong day. It was the "special day" who can trigger, like the duel with the speed bird, and the raining crumbs day. I should have fixed this...

@xephrys : If you eat a lot, the bird become slower (and the total of crumbs eat everyday influence too, making you even slower everyday) but due to very bad choice of value from me, you have to eat more than 100 to start feeling it and the other day, you didn't feel it at all exepect if you eat like 170 in one day...

@axoona Yes, I really mean to make an end to the game at 7 days (the crow, some crumbs and a shoot em up surprise gameplay) where all lead to this. I wanted to make it on the Monday but my computer just update and take away 3hours and with my other work, I didn't succeed to find the time to make it (but everything in the code is prepare !)

Sincerely, one of my favorite game from this ludum ! The music work just really well for this kind of game, and the gameplay + graphism + music just work good all within !

The graphism are really simple, but the particle effect, the feedback or the anticipation (the light who get on before an ennemy spawn) and simply the convergence of ennemy towards make it clear and kinda mesmering, when with the good music ! I really hope we can jump to the music we want when we finish one, but it was not that hard to defeat (I never last long for the final, but this music work so greatly I didn't even rage about it !)

The whole gameplay is done in a good way ! Just some times, I feel my shots was under my cursor (persepectif problem ?) But the game have his mood and he push the player to move, dodge, aim in a way that stay interesting, pushing to think where to place due to obstacles and the danger of every spawn point.

A simple game, but a good one !

It clever, and very use in a good way ! I can't reach more than level 8 afterall, because the movement are a little too weird for me (I suck at PC plateforming...) But you game really impress me ! Bravo ~ Ps : the fact that the character stick to wall can be correct in Unity with a Physics material with friction to 0, I think (I may be wrong, but if it help you, I'm glad)

One of the most beautiful game and a good revision of the tower defense principle ! The flow is great and the gameplay is pretty clear and straight forward : no need for a tutorial, we understand it quickly. My two downside is that : i didn't understand how usefull for the spawn of grain it is to water the main mushroom, and the balance need a little rework : it became very easy and you overcome the game pretty quick, and I didn't play that long, but the danger in the end didn't seem to overcome my huge army. But your game was still running smoothly despite the army of shroom attacking ennemy who divide, and the white mushroom who launch as burp of attack are just too fucking good to see ! Love it !

It's really the kind of game who, with just some visual tweaking, could be stunning ! The music set the mood perfectly (the theme change is perfect) the gameplay work well, even if it's ask you to wait a lot (which is good, like, it became part of the mood and the pacing ! ) and the progression is perfectly pace. The "mental map" I start construct to know where I go and where I need to go was a good thrilling feeling and in perfect adequation with the set up (space). ((I even had a little "Outer Wild" vibes)) And the final is :thumbsup: ! Overall, it's very polish!

The visual are also cool and work, but with like a little bit of post process (and maybe some little animation. But the one on the ship and the little FX on the black hole seem already enough !) I think it can be really enhanced and gove a big "wow effect" !

But for just a jam, it's already a lot and it's work so well !

@fabula-rasa There is 5 ghost and an end! But ghost are hard to found (it was kinda the point but still didn't work as intended...)

And yes, the theme get lost while it was very present at the begining of development : the bulb was a loose one, who was unstable and had to keep jumping or else, could fall and died, but it was too harsch. All the ghost should be unstable and move around, but it add too much to the workload and also were already difficult to find... In the end, I thinked that the dialog should convey the theme, but it's not that present too. I agreed.

@basset-romain Thank you ! But yeah, there is some bug on the deplacement, I did a lot of trial and error before getting a good movement gameplay... (the first day of the jam was dedicaded to that. Even the morning of the second day) but I'm glad it didn't ruin your experience

@manio Thanks for all your compliment ! I don't know how to respond but I'm really grateful I worked with a sound designer (aka Choucroute) for the sound, 'cause that really a field where I cannot do anything... He made the game feel alive and help the journey to be as pleasant as possible~~~

So, when you press the button, it "lock" another lamp but don't even have the time to show it. And yes, I could have been fun to add momentum to the other attack... I didn't because the dash was kinda an "outsider" in my original game view, but it's could be good to test that way.

Oh, and for the "total heart counter", it is implemented in the new version (and even rewarded. That's why it felt important to me to have the intro/outro to the game, even if it didn't count for the Ludum Dare notation).

@itskdog Thank you, I call that "shape and grade because my pixel art was bad"! I change that after taking half a day trying some pixel art character. The placeholder version finally was better (also, the nod to Ms Pacman was purely accidental but welcome!).

I add multiple jump to compensate the bad jump, but forget to show you how many jump you still have (and when you get them back). Maybe I will make a better version after the jam with more clear feedback too.

@gabbeeder Yes, I understand, maybe I should make it so each heart give more time. I had hard time to make the tweak because I'm use to the game but I didn't playtest it... But I hope you still enjoy the game despite these little problem!

A good little game! I reach the end (the timer reach 0) but nothing happen, I think you didn't have the time to make it, so no problem, the rest of the game stay good! The final is quite absurd but I think that how shm'up get good!

I still had some problem like a lot of "first shmup game" have, like a hitbox far too big, no reason to not stay on the bottom of the screen, no indicator of where the ennemy will come (it's not that bad, but when the screen is so small and the hitbox so large, it's quite a problem), etc. But it still make a good game, like, being able to restart the run but better prepare is fun, while also having the risk to lost it all : this is a good feeling , showing by gameplay! And that's great!

Seriously, one of the best game I have seen on a ludum dare ! I love snakes (the animals) and Snake (the game) but you adapt it in a very good way that work immediattly ! Plus the design, the different music, the little animation of the snake, their character, all this was awesome ! And the AI + game responsive was in the same level : too much for only a Ludum Dare ! The game over screen work really well, and see an army of stupid zombie go to our bodie with that music was actually... anti-frustating ! And even if I always tell myself that you could cut down by just 10% the lenght of the run, afterward, I ask myself if this wouldn't have decrease the intensity of the victory ? Well, I don't have the answer of this question

I will see tomorrow if it does, but : I really love the overall graphics , the animation and the dialog ! The idea and all text are pretty fun and it's motivate imagination, but the fact that you didn't unlock so many new thing in the first hours of gameplay down the enjoyment. Plus, one of the reason these two theme are not compatible is that you miss the main moment when you cross a step in relationship (even if you unlock new interaction and you have to do the first one, you miss the level up and the silly sentence who get along with it !) So, I really like it, but maybe I have to give it more time (wich is good for both of the genre you mix !)

It was not a "fun" game, but it was a realy cool and impressive game ! I give it my time, to finish it, and it was really plesant ! Just the duration who was nescessary, some really cool feature, like curving, stopping time or reverse, it was all great idea ! And even the "atmosphere" of the game was in, and push me in a strange case where I play, get challenge, but still enjoy it ! It was not a "entertainment" fun but more a "I learn and I overcome" fun ! Somethings that lot of metroid vania try to reach, and that you perfectly sum up with this gems. The whole physics and visual add a lot of strange humourous timing in the game. It's hard, very tense, but dying feel as much funny as frustrating (well, I didn't find the exit so the frustrating bit was maybe too high for me). I still wonder how to solve this labyrinth (I find a big place with huge colomn but die and didn't find the strenght to try to get back there)

Also the audio is very cool ! And obviously the dot-pattern visual is top! And in line with theme. Congrats!

The visual are stunning, and while I understand only the big stroke of the story ; I loved how the visual followed the poetry. It make the puzzle engaging and make the player want to go deeper each step!

I LOVE this type of game. It's a lot of text and I'm no english-native-speaker, so the use of both old-english term and fictional language is harder than ever , but the challenge was fun! I'm sad that you can't select which heir is the rightful one , but for a jam it's already a HUGE game.

I wish we could add "possible translation" above the different term we cross (as in Chants of Sennaar) which can be both funny and useful, but I understand the lack of time.

The core idea was really fun, to switch the card effect and trying to anticipate how to optimize each card. I was still really luck-dependent in my run (sometimes I have no way to return to signal up, and nothing toi attack the popularity) but it's still fun !

One of my favourite game from the jam so far. I love Obra Dinn or The Roottrees Are Dead, so puzzle game like that where you start making connections from people to people is my precise cup of tea.

The execution in term of puzzle is really good (I just have trouble on the last day to figure out why the guy who talk about the leaking appartment above , need to be link to he nephew (the aunt has move to his house? It logic out of the box, but nothing indicate that the aunt wasn't in her home, so it feel like a huge gap when you're trying to decipher 3 puzzle at the same time) and I like that you kept the message in the log book.

The biggest problem are the numerous bug due to 3D jankyness and some cable who looks deconnect but are still connected. Maybe making the game in 2D with false "3D-ness" would have been better? But it's a lot to ask in a jam setting.

Anyway, very cool game! I loved it! Would love to see a full game like that where you can add info on people by hand to spice up the whole game

Remarkably well done! While it's really hard to navigate all the option and menuing, it make the game tense while being slighty slow. The limitation of signal distance is frustrating but in retrospect, it force the player to play quick when a plane is in range, and so, prioritize the right decision, creating moment of tension.

Also the visual is just very clean!

My first run I destroy almost all cities and no message was sent anymore. I restart and try to follow the second plotline, but it was really really too slow. I like the feeling and mood but it's become a little too long in the end (and yes, the ability to make the button go full 360 would have been cool at least for the "angle" button)

@sarah No worry, the game is a little hard to explain. Let me try here: You need to play with the pdf next to you. When the banner with "A new package is here." in alien langage appear on the screen, it mean that an invisible package is somewhere in the map. You need to find it via your scanner: when you get closer, the light bleep faster, the music goes louder. (you can click, press SPACE or ENTER when you're on the point) Once you get the package, you have to deliver it to the correct character. To find who it is, you need to decipher the text on the scanner's screen, with the .pdf. Once you deliver a package, a new one will arrive.

I hope it get clearer, and I hope you find time to give a second chance to our game!

For the .pdf : We wanted to have like a physical element, not in game, but it was hard to put in practice. The pdf was the easiest solution to meet that goal.

@nadia-pixel : I agree with you, on both aspect. But we wanted to make something with a physicality, who ask from the player. We know it's a barrier, and not perfect for the Ludum Dare, but we were okay with it and the consequence. And it makes the comment from people who enjoy the game even more heartful to us!

Very cool visual with a fun concept, discovering the new alien is a reward enough to push you through replay ; and the different ending help too. I'm still a little disapointed that my first ending was a "you have no art anymore" while I have the "inspiration" perk.

Very good game, the musicality of the movement help a lot to find yourself in the sheet rythm. I would have been super cool to have a "self destruct button" to quit the sequence when we know we fucked up the sheet ; but in a game jam, it's a lot to ask.

The only big down point is the lack of music in the intro and outro. It's a bit jarring

Except for that, I have nothing but good to say about this game!

I didn't succeed to complete the game, I was too lost on some puzzle. By I like the main idea and overwhole style! The oppening sequence in pixel art is stunning! I still understand how I pass some puzzle tho. (I end up block on the "SPACE" puzzle. I see the order, but where and how I should use "space" on it is lost on me...) Cool game even if it beat me!
