I liked the idea of the spike towers and rotating to use them. I was confused why they weren't doing anything at first, but then I rotated and it was a good moment.

The twist (pun intended) on tower defense is really fun. I would have put the rotate on Q and E since it's a little more natural to hit those while my hand is resting on WASD. I guess the towers have a cooldown period after a while which felt like a bug at first since they just stop firing then all fire in unison. Very good overall.
Love the game idea! Works really well! Occasionally the towers wouldnt shoot at enemies, and a UI warning saying there are new enemies in another path would be good, but other than that it was really fun!
I've always liked tower defence games, and this is a nice twist! I really like the art too. Obviously, as you say, it's still a bit bare-bones, so it's a little samey after a while, but definitively a really nice proof of concept!
Consider your concept proven. This is a great take on TD. There seems to be a glitch with regards to enemy detection after consecutive spins. Enemy Alive will read 0 and towers won't fire even when in range.
The twist is a awesome idea :) Rarely there seems to be a bug where the towers woudnt shot
Had to read the comments to understand the spike tower, but that is a super clever idea - I wish it were communicated more clearly. Rotation is a super cool twist (no pun intended) and this is the first game I've played for more than a few minutes this jam! Nice work!
Super good little game here! I don't really like tower defences game usually.. but this one was really enjoyable with the spinning mechanic and the super nice music ^^
Rotating the playing field in a tower defense is a very interesting mechanic, and I like that the spike towers really incentivize the player to use it. Cute art too :) Great entry
Rotating the board was a great idea for a spin on the tower defense genre! Really fun, and I liked the art style too.
I like the epic style music and I think rotating the ground is a very nice idea that changed my mind about tower defense games. The graphic is clean and nice looking!
Nice ideas !
Love the colored pencil aesthetic :)
It wasn't exactly clear to me what the spike tower did, until I accidentally rotated the map and wiped out a huge chunk of enemies with it. After seeing that, it's fairly easy to cheese round wins with placement of the spikes.
It's solid tower defence with rotating feature. But it seemed to me that this feature was not used properly, because I did not immediately realize this possibility and the game lost almost nothing. It was very easy to play even without rotating the location.
Quite an innovative concept! I wish there were a way to speed things up actually -- and of course, more things to put down, but I know you said it's just a proof of concept. Love the art and music. Great job!
It seems all I wanted to say has already been said in the other comments; spike tower was unclear until I read about it here, enemy alive counter bugs out and I'm not sure whether the towers not shooting is part of that bug, another bug or an intended timeout feature after firing a lot (if it *is* a feature it would've been nice if there was any kind of indication of it!).
The rotating mechanic is cool though, I've never seen this before and I would love to play a more developed version of this game! Also I did enjoy the art. The music was a bit too much in my opinion, something a little less energetic would've probably been a better fit.
Congratulations on your submission, I hope to see a post-jam version at some point!
Very fun! I had a little moment before I understand the use of the spike tower, but it's fun when you use them correctly! The visual have a really good vibes too!
Nice twist. Feels unordianary polished by ludum dare standards. Great idea and implementation!
