The take on the theme is great and the game looks beautiful.
This is an amazing game. The psychoanalysis aspect was a cool twist on minesweeper. It's a very cool way to address the theme of the jam. I was able to clear the first level once I figured out what the discuss button did.
I gave up on the higher levels because the swarm of numbers was harder to process than it was fun to solve. Hiding the numbers that aren't next to any block might help with this. It would also be nice to control the pivot point with a pan control.
It could certainly use some tooltips or something to help the learning curve. An indicator of how deep you got would be cool too. I appear to have gotten stuck at level [I don't know]. It was fun. Some progression of tool unlocks would be neat.
I spent way too long playing it :). A minimap would have been nice.
The art is fantastic. An indicator of how many turns an ability uses would have been nice (maybe I didn't see it). Overall a really fun little game.
I enjoyed it but ctrl+w on chrome closes the window. I'd avoid encouraging this key combination. It's a fun little shoot 'em up.
Very satisfying to play.
The art steals the show here. The card mechanic was a interesting to play with.
Like the others have said, the atmosphere was great. More details like rocks or even particles in the water would help break up the visual void and sell the movement more.
Everything about this is great but I was about to just quit right before I reached the end because there wasn't any signposting letting me know how far I was.
I really liked the atmosphere until one of the music tracks turned down a techno alley. Other than that it has strong gameboy vibes and solid graphics.
@le-slo Thanks for playing. The timer pauses the boxes coming toward you and the length of the timer is based on the number of tiles broken with a larger pause for more tiles broken at once.
Really satisfying to play once you get the higher drills.
Truley the darksouls of golf games. I really liked the take on the theme.
Inverting the platformer was a cool way to match the jam theme. I could have used 'R' to restart a level for as often as I needed to do that. The level tuning was very tight as I was almost always totally out of fuel when I got to the end of the level.
There's a lot to like here. It could use some audio, obviously. Some background blocks to give a sense of movement when rocketing through the void would be nice. The controls are great and leaving your corpses as a way to self regulate difficulty is very cool. The game looks great too.
Nice little game but I had a hard time getting used to WASD at 45 degree offset.
I like the game idea and I think it could do well on mobile but like @pvp said it's a bit too hard.
I love the little boat, the sounds, and just everything here. The only thing I'd add is a progress indicator. I made it to the rainbow, which I assumed is the end.
Great little game. Good use of introducing new mechanics as the game progresses. Like @simpathey said a leaderboard would be great.
Perfect game. No notes.
I'm more of a hazard to myself than the skeletons. Good times.
Simple and effective graphics with good polish.
This game is so cute I don't care that I'm terrible at it.
I have no idea why cheese and g-fuel didn't stabilize him. It works for me.
I liked the mix of 2d and 3d assets. The audio was well done.
I wasn't sure what to do aside from just mining stuff.
Thanks for the feedback!
Here's how it works. There is a list of a few hundred words it can choose from. At the start of each game 20 are chosen. 10 of them are hated, 10 are fine. Additionally, each round half of the words are hated and the other half are fine.
Yep. Half are loved and half are hated. It's consistent per game though so you can make more informed decisions per round.
The devil on the lose screen was so good I didn't care about dying.
Beautiful game and balanced very well. The use of audio to set the atmosphere is top notch.
Loved the look of this one and the controls are great. The only nitpick I have is that when the dialogs pop-up the pause like behavior broke any sort flow I had going.
Nice twist on stacking games. I'd appreciate if the camera was looking up a bit more on the web version since about the bottom quarter of the screen is just the road.
The visuals and animations are well well done. I felt like the crane didn't have enough "weight". Mine kept getting stuck upside down so I'd have to wiggle it to flip it over. Gameplay was fun but because of the crane issues I had flipped to frustration a couple times. It's a very unique game that could be great in a couch co-op style.
I love me a good twist on Tetris and this is great.
Multiplayer for a jam is ambitious as hell but sadly I couldn't get it to work on chrome.
Some audio would be nice but the gameplay is solid and the graphics are effective at supporting the gameplay.
Absolutely incredible. Working with your past self is a lot of fun but I could use more player feedback on when I exited "rewind mode".
I could have used a better indication of which pipe was next but the game was simple, very fun, and the art was charming.
Looks great and I appreciate random levels for a jam. It's really hard though.
A few bugs in the web version (played in chrome, couldn't interact with the lightbulb or the printer). The use of the theme was great and the atmosphere was a cool mix of chill and stressful.
Fun little game. The tuning on the jumps felt exacting without being punishing. This sort of thing is hard to get right and you did it well.
5 stars for dat frog. The animation and charm of the cardboard look work great. Thank you for adding variation to the ribbit sound. If that was the same sound over and over I would have literally died.
There's a great framework here that a little polish could make shine but a solid game overall.
At first I was like, "meh" but then I played an embarrassingly long time. Certainly don't judge a book by it's cover with this on.
I really like the art (especially the exploding zombies) and the controls are solid.
This is a really fun take on zombie and diner games. I appreciate how patient the customers are while I'm trying to fight off a horde.
It's a really good mix up of genres but It took me a few rounds to understand exactly what was going on. The art and sound was great. I felt like the best strategy was to build a trap for the chaser which led the gameplay to devolve into sitting there waiting for the speed to overcome the black hole.
This is the best use of theme I've seen in ld50. The graphics are very good and the amount of time spent on polish shows.
Everything about the presentation looks great but when speeding back to the truck the checkboard pattern messed with my eyes. I really like the pattern when it's not zooming by, however.
Excuse me while I do donuts on mars and waste all my energy. This was a lot of fun and a ton of really great polish.
I've decided that all the bugs in my game are intentional. Afterall, a very dirty kitchen is bound to have bugs.
This is very bizarre and I love it.
I really like it but the controls were a little hard to use
Everything is put together nicely. I would have liked the leaks to have a more visible indicator of where to stand to deal with them since it's hard to pinpoint the center of a leak if you're knee deep in water on the bow of the ship.
The twist (pun intended) on tower defense is really fun. I would have put the rotate on Q and E since it's a little more natural to hit those while my hand is resting on WASD. I guess the towers have a cooldown period after a while which felt like a bug at first since they just stop firing then all fire in unison. Very good overall.
After the chill intro I was not expecting the gameplay. Nice bit of bait and switch there.
A really nice twice on tower defense.
The controls are very innovative
The controls are solid and the art was simple and effective. I would have liked a bit more ramp up in difficulty, starting too easy, so you can get a good feel for everything, before the difficulty comes in. Maybe I'm just bad though.
I like how the game mechanics kind of built a narrative that coalesced as you played.
Playing watch wizard on my android phone is pretty great, the controls aren't super responsive but it's making me contort my phone at weird angles which is really fun
Very cool style on this one. I wish the snap range on the triangles is a little bigger but probably because I'm bad.
The timing between placing the fireball and the explosion is perfect. Any longer and it'd be much easier, any shorter and it'd be impossible. That said it felt I should have been safe a lot more than I was. Great job overall.
This game rules. I don't know what else to say. It's simple, to the point, and a solid shooting experience.
I think this suffered from the theme more than it was helped by it. That is, if I didn't have a time limit to choose cards I could really sink into the complexity presented in this otherwise very solid strategy game. Great job!
I love the idea but it's hard to work out a strategy with only 10 seconds. I ended up just spamming cards and won. Amazing polish for a jam. Well done.
Very cute, the sound is great, and the story telling through gameplay is excellent. The inclusion of the theme worked so well for the game it took me a while to realize customers came in every ten seconds. Excellent submission.
This is a very unique game. I'm glad you included a tutorial because there's no chance I could have figured it out otherwise.
I really respect building good scalability into a jam game.
The art and sound are top notch. The combinations are a cool mechanic.
This was a lot of fun. Great use of the theme although near the end I wish some of bunnies would be able to clean up.
@hora-timer Links are now available
Absolutely top notch. It's very hard and very satisfying to punch the guy when you fail.
I wasn't able to get very far because I'm bad at platformers but the controls are very good which is the lifeblood of a platformer.
Solid controls and a solid little game. The cooldown mechanic was a fun take on the theme.
All the polish to this game is really great. I think it would be better if the theme had been "30 seconds" though.
Much more complex than I originally thought and it got stressful and gross very quickly. Good job
The polish really sets this apart. It's a simple idea executed very, very well.
Very strange but I'm here for it.
Solid game. The banana effect caught me off guard made me actually laugh out loud.
Excellent polish. The controls are very tight but more checkpoints would be nice.
The level design did a great job of explaining the mechanics of building. I would have liked a way to skip the countdown so I wasn't waiting for 8 seconds on a piece of the level I already solved a couple times. Nice submision.
I really like the simplicity. Making the goal a little bigger would be appreciated.
It's such a pretty game and excellent audio.
You ever read Lovecraft or similar and one of the protagonists reads something they shouldn't and you see them descend into madness. That's how I felt playing this game. 10/10
Nice chill game. I certainly made a mess of my garden. I was a little disappointed the catcumber didn't involve a literal cat but I won't hold that against you.
Well done. "Take a nap" caught me by surprise.
This is a nice relaxing experience. It's cool to grow a whole world from a single seed.
I really like the style and the audio. The controls are solid. It's a solid little game.
In a world of terrible fishing in video games this one really stands out. Great job!
Too me forever to realize kickback was pushing me off the bridge. Once I sorted that out it was a cool game. Graphics are really nice.
I've never liked vegetables anyway and it was very satisfying to beet them to a pulp.
This is so good. The graphics are great the voice acting is fun. The progression is really cool in that while the first level is a bit tedious you get to re-run it as old man Flash and feel a real sense of progression. Once you have enough upgrades to make it trivial, it's game over. It's a perfect little experience.
Click and drag would be a welcome addition but the game was very cute.
I really like the idea
I was really happy to see I could move the crates with the mouse since I have a hard time with platformers that make me build with the character. Good job.
The art is great but my chats stopped working. I found the same bug as @tusya
The controls and platforming was really good
I'm going to try and play this multiplayer to test my relationships. Great submissions. I personally would have preferred "space" as honk since "w" feels like it should move me forward.
I really struggled with the gems
I've long said farming sims need more aliens and this game delivers.
I feel much more optimistic about my chances in a robot uprising.
Really good mix of peaceful farming sim and stressful bullet hell
There's something about your games that makes my brain not work so I immediately fail all the time. I love it. Eventually I won I guess.
The driving controls felt really good and that can be very hard to get right. Good job. Mostly I appreciate the inside look into tofu delivery because I order a lot of tofu in the early morning.
https://youtu.be/Jifc4nfhRUA
Solid game. When I got the pistol I really wanted to switch back to the crowbar. The controls, graphics, and music are all great. Some of the sound effects could have used a bit of distortion to match the 8-bit feel of the rest of the game.
Here's my playthrough (I failed setting up obs on this one so it's cropped a bit weird) https://youtu.be/eTV7jddrVbk
Minute 1: Cute game. Good audio and graphics Minute 10: The gnomes have mastered the speed force and choose to run in front of the dragon to taunt him
Great game but I'm a little disappointed I couldn't blow up the sheep
https://youtu.be/5K9Xdh6qa5k
The graphics, audio, and controls are so good I just wish there was more.
https://youtu.be/sQ2105bOyl4
That's a lot of fun. I enjoyed trying to decipher your spawn mechanics and AI to cheese the game. Those upgrades I imagined were really good too :)
https://youtu.be/noKMhbgA9yw
I really like exploring the narrative in this manner. Chrome also wanted me to save my password for the game which is probably an immersive happy accident but very cool.
The difficulty is tuned really, really well on this. Great job. I ~~accidentally~~ intentionally did some cool trick drops and catches.
What a beautiful chill game. The music really sets the tone and the pigeon animations are excellent.
This is my firs time playing this kind of game and I really enjoyed it. I think I soft locked giving the wrong idea to different people and I couldn't figure out how to get it back. Thanks for including me :)
I type to the viewer on this playthrough a couple times. https://youtu.be/tRWxGenb1lg
The graphics were cute but the controls felt a little stiff. I like the idea of managing an inventory with this style of game as it could give it a bit more depth than simply driving around to random locations.
I'm bad at this but enjoyed it nonetheless. If the wizards had a pattern to their firing that would have been cool. If they did have a pattern and I couldn't figure it out ignore this comment :)
My playthrough https://youtu.be/sO6tgvwQ9F4
Very solid game. I'm really glad you gave different difficulties (because I'm bad). I found the twist hilarious (I actually laughed out loud).
My playthrough https://youtu.be/3140QtS1Nik
@josemwarrior That means a lot. This is the first time I've ever used my own music so your comment means a lot :)
@tudvari Technically there are 3 levels after the tutorial but the only change is that you have less time.
That audio....chef's kiss
This game is puurrfect...scrolls up to see if this joke has been used...
I was entirely happy with listening to cat jams and then it turned into an actual game with upgrades and everything. My only complaint is that the font was very hard to read on the upgrades. It's a very cool experience otherwise.
https://youtu.be/WQCgS15lXDs
This is really good and I'm very bad at it. I'd like a way to restart just a day instead the whole game (because I'm bad at it).
I didn't have a guide between the lady and the guy who was sawing. The music at the end was a bit loud relative to the rest of the audio. I also had trouble when the volume control had focus so the game wouldn't register my other keys. All that said, this was an excellent game. The sounds were great. The jokes were funny. I played with my eyes closed and had a very memorable experience.
It's a solid little game. I found the left/right a bit fast for my liking but that could be personal preference. I ended my recording before I tested death but I appreciate the invulnerability window after death.
https://youtu.be/ETLrDx2yaVY
The art style looks really good here. I would have liked for the camera to lead the drone rather than trail it. Really fun game.
The controls are really good. The collision noise is way too loud for the rest of the audio. I couldn't seem to exit the tutorial or get any more objectives.
My playthrough https://youtu.be/uDSOFni2UWo
It checks all the boxes of a solid little game but I wish the camera led the character instead of trailed it.
Something about the music really jived with me and I appreciate how you really have to hunt for the controls.
Great job. I would have preferred W is forward, A/D are turn but that's personal preference. The sound and graphics fit very well together and look great. The dog animations are especially good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqCryCd2S5o
Simple but engaging. You did a great job of escalating the difficulty and making some levels that looked impossible at first glance, which made them more rewarding at the end.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAk87-lAuXM
This was really well put together. The music and all the sounds built the mood very well. I went through three stages of learning on this one. At first I was just grabbing everything and moving on. Then I was trying to maximize gold by figuring the ratio of gold to weight. Finally, I just started skipping the first 6 loots per level because the damage penalty was very severe. I really like the idea of a dungeon crawler were you have to constantly use potions to counter many players' habit of holding onto potions until the right time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM2FmQK-ELs
Everything comes together so well in this. The sound and graphics fit together perfectly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VR15EXg6Pd8
This is really good but exactly where to click was hard to figure out.
This was very cute. I appreciated the shoehorn. Here's my playthrough if you want to watch me struggle with reading comprehension.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nUrc7WpCW8
@tudvari if you enjoyed it, it was definitely, 100%, an intentional feature. Yeah there's no stopping. You just have to spin around and push the other way. I went with old school Asteroids controls for better or worse.
@defrag same picture.png
The art has a charm to it I kind of like actually. I appreciate that there's animation. Tables having collision and water coolers not having collision was a little confusing because there was no visual difference to indicate it. At least, I didn't notice an indication. I really like the odd rules per level. That's a really cool touch to a stealth game. Welcome to LD!
My playthrough was cropped...oddly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPasKSixWwU
Excellent game. The view mechanic is very interesting and added a lot to a typical strategy game. Well done.
I really appreciate the tutorial. The graphics are great and the music is sets the mood well.
Cute little game. The audio was funny and the graphics were good. I felt like the gulls ramped up too fast.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uROm0ffJW_A
Pew pew pew pew pew. I actualled laughed out loud
Magic means are a fun twist on the theme. The little sound effects when you enter some rooms are a really nice touch.
You really nailed that specific type of gameplay that's really fun to zone out to. Everything was great here but I think the music really shined.
Screenshot 2024-10-09 215554.png
Jumping to the center took a double jump but jumping from the center was a single jump. That felt a little weird but otherwise it's a really great idea. I can see this being fun as a single screen pvp style game with friends.
It's really cute and including an apk was a good idea since it works well with touch.
The splats staying on the background adds a lot of visual interest to otherwise simple graphics that looks really, really cool.
It's very cute and the music is great. A bit slow to start though. My first game the guy drank from the ocean a couple times and died. I love the art.
Excellent take on the theme. The roombas are a great way to add some difficulty. The art is hilarious.
@noobman64 You're on to something. The lore is very deep.
I love the art. You did a fantastic job of the car's controls. That can be hard to get just right with a moving camera. Bumping into stuff was just the right amount of punishing to add challenge without frustration.
Looks really good and the sound is nice
It looks like there's something wrong with the textures on the enemies and at a certain point I got launched into the stratosphere. Good times. Using gnomes is a plus.
Screenshot 2024-10-08 150302.png
You've made a very nice, chill, game with a lovely art style. I would have appreciated a faster plant method but it was a cool experience. Great job!
When a game lets you play a fabric wizard, you play a fabric wizard. The voiced intros were pretty rad.
I enjoyed it. I think it could have used a sprint but babies aren't known for their ability to run so I understand why it was omitted. All the little games worked well. The music should have been turned off or had it's volume reduced while the box's music played.
Simple idea but excellent execution. It'd be really great on a touch interface.
Great idea but I couldn't get it to work. I kept on cutting a yellow thing regardless of what was on the board.
Grats on your first jam! I really appreciate all the art that was involved. That's a lot of assets for a jam.
The look is great and unhinged. I'm bad and this and kept crashing.
My crash edits are so you don't see my desktop. I might have cut a second before the actual crash.
https://youtu.be/SJuLLl8a5aE
Very cool idea. I had a hard time finding where to click when I colored too deeply (not sure how to describe this).
bun.png
I tried to make a bunny with a floppy ear
https://youtu.be/XSnOCHFZBfs
I have tested the windows build...it works
I like the two endings and that there's not a perfect one.
The under construction edge of space was funny.
The combat, controls, art, and sound are all well done. I ended up just avoiding the combat once I realized I could get the objective without it.
https://youtu.be/oscz4GWDoK0
I love the art. The little swimmer guy is fantastic. It's a shame he's so tiny because the animations and air bubbles are so damn cute. Cursor visibility was an issue but I could be getting old...maybe both. The gameplay is great. The audio was good except for the shooting and mining sound effects. Those felt a little too harsh especially when you had a lot of miners going.
Here's my gameplay. (I kept trying to hit escape to close the upgrade menu)
https://youtu.be/WYWtTbhspfg
Unique puzzle games are rare and this is a good one. That last level felt a little too long but it was still fun to wrap my head around moving through 3d space in that way.
https://youtu.be/w_2TAuFLXnA
I love the concept and I'd love to see it fleshed out in a bigger game. Some of the ledges felt like they gave me a little extra vertical on my jump but it seemed too inconsistent to use.
I played a couple levels before I remembered to record so I already had some idea of the level and the gist of the gameplay before this video starts.
https://youtu.be/01zZTcijefI
@jiri-hysek The credit for the animated background goes to you. I saw that fog screenshot you posted and ~~stole~~ was inspired by it
@andrewkennedy I originally planned on more monsters that would move diagonally and/or shoot. Hopefully, this would stop the player from approaching them straight on, but this weird thing happened where time kept moving forward and the deadline did not :)
The gameplay loop is solid but if there's an end, some indication of how far along I am would be nice. It's cool you put effort into putting big numbers into Godot. Big points for a volume slider!
https://youtu.be/6RBCK4mAw_k
Such a cool bait and switch. This was a lot of fun. Your player animations are excellent and it's such a cool idea for a jam.
https://youtu.be/KNh6nqvcjxI
Very innovative gameplay. The voice lines and music were top notch. A couple points I knew where to go but couldn't because of the minimum move distance. Really good entry.
https://youtu.be/N4omF-MTJyg
The gameplay is fantastic. I'd like a better indicator of which mushroom I'm actually clicking on because it can be difficult to manage when they're all bunched up.
https://youtu.be/70KyJPDr9Wc
For the time constraint the player animation is really good. Somehow those few pixels actually looked like a guy.
https://youtu.be/gpQa1ilQECc
The art, music, and gameplay are all very good here but the ammo system really stands out.
I couldn't get the punch to work and when I tried my controller it seemed like it didn't account for any deadzone. This could be my controller though, since I don't use it very often. (You can see me messing with the controller in the first few minutes.)
The ammo system forced me to try different ways of playing, which was awesome. I tried, and failed, just running around guys. Then I started counting my shots so I wouldn't end up with multiple bullets in the air that would disappear as they flew past a dead enemy. This worked much better.
The boss level was a nice challenge and again, the sound and art are fantastic.
https://youtu.be/Wwli2C7toz0
A very solid escape room experience. I really like the atmospheric story telling with the picture.
I really like the music. It's very difficult to thread the needle between catchy and annoying with a 5 second loop. The animation on with the squirrel was funny and gave me enough feedback to know my input was received. Also, the squirrel does not appear to have a bottom, so good job on the naming.
Here's my gameplay so you can see how bad I am! (Also I'm bad at cropping OBS correctly)
https://youtu.be/jr0f6d7dmYg
I like the style of minigames with a narrative. The art looks good and supports the story telling. I accidentally skipped some dialog because I was clicking to speed up the text accidentally skipped past it. You can see this in the video. I ended up playing again and was careful to not click so fast. I think I got to the ending, his brain hit 100% and the screen went blank?
https://youtu.be/U2UE29j-Exk
Player controls on a platform are everything and your controls are great. The background made me a little sick since it was so brightly colored but it looks good while still. edit: I think I'm particularly sensitive to this sort of thing though.
https://youtu.be/iXi8t8ZhaQk
Very cool puzzle mechanic
The clap animation is adorable. I got a gun. This is the best. This tastes terrible. This is the best. This tastes terrible. This is the best. This tastes terrible. This is the best. This tastes terrible. This is the best. This tastes terrible. Victory woas hard
The art and music are soooo good. I wish the game leveraged speed upgrades over battery upgrades because re-treading already walked paths started to feal tedious. The camera was really well done. I liked how it shifted from a static camera at your base to a follow camera when you were looking for candy.
A clicker with an end is such a surprisingly novel idea.
I really enjoyed this. I think the handles could use something to make them stand out more. The ticking audio is perfect.
Stealth is a hard genre to do right and you did a great job. This was really innovative.
@woona @heat Thanks for playing! The monsters are supposed to attack the fences if they can't find a path and it works 50% of the time....it's a jam /shrug
I really like the gameplay and the style. Sometimes I got frustrated I couldn't find the guy I was looking for so I just nabbed someone with similar features and it worked. I could be blind however.
Really fun concept. I would have liked a bit more predictability on the demon's paths but otherwise a really good game.
I love the animations.
I would have liked a way to view my current inventory when buying things and a faster way to identify the value of each item other than mouseover. That said, this is fantastic. It's such an interesting idea and you convey a lot of story with a little dialog. Really, really good job.
yum cup cake. The controls are well done, which like like 90% of a good platformer (level design is the other 90%). The dash looks sick as hell. The jumpy level was a cool break from the standard platforming. Great job!
I replayed this several times just to mess with the mechanics. It's astonishingly good. My only complaint is it didn't convey the turn order idea super well but damn this is good. Graphics are great too.
I love the look of the game and the controls were great.
