LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Special Delivery by Max Amaden 2017-12-05T03:30:22Z

I really love the graphics, and the music is very fitting. Tbh I'm not a big fan of the gameplay but I guess it's a personal opinion. Maybe too hard ? Idk. Very good job anyway guys, and impressive.

Heart Of Stone by holgk 2017-12-05T13:32:48Z

I like the art and the environment espacially, and the RTS camera allows the player to enjoy the assets from up close. This is an idea I had for our game but had to cut in the end. I feel like the balance could be improved by playtesting and tweaking the parameters a little bit more, but maybe the difficulty is too hard to tune due to the defends AI moving differently between playthroughs ? Anyway I enjoyed playing for a few minutes ! Well done

Cherry Creek by SecondDimension 2017-12-05T04:13:46Z

A very good game I'll keep in my bookmarks. Nice algorythm I bet! Nice music too, and very chilly overall. Very gj guys ;-)

Santa's Factory by SaraMartins 2017-12-11T09:52:00Z

So stressful for such a nice looking game ! Which is the intention so very well done ;-) I love the music too. Good job on making a 3D game, I know first hand that it's not the easy choice haha. Perfect connection with the theme too. For real it's exactly what I would expect out of a jam game : simple but well polished. I hope I'll be able to achieve something as nice next LD! Good job guys, now I'm jelly AND stressed :p

Smooth Lines by yojammerjammer 2017-12-05T03:10:31Z

We had a good laugh! And very nice use of the theme. Gj!

BOOTY LOOTER! by MrLeePerry 2017-12-05T19:33:52Z

What refreshing game ! Simple and efficient. The sounds made me smile and I even yarrr'd myself. Amazing that you could pull this off in 48h. Hats off

Fortress Escape by SpaceMonkey 2017-12-02T17:38:27Z

https://youtu.be/zPQ1aa3vsQQ First WebGL build of the prototype. No gameplay yet but a lot of mechanics already in place !

Fortress Escape by SpaceMonkey 2017-12-07T23:46:33Z

I'll have some time this weekend to fix the sensitivity, sorry it took so long I should have done it right away! I didn't realize it was authorized for some reason.

Thank you so much for the great feedback guys ! My first LD was an amazing experience and it's also thanks to you. Great community :) We'll keep you updated.

Fortress Escape by SpaceMonkey 2017-12-07T23:49:31Z

Ho and the jetpack is a debug feature I left in there since there was no challenge anyway and it's so fun to fly everywhere!! Also gives you that easter-egg feeling right? Except if you think it's a bug I guess :D

Fortress Escape by SpaceMonkey 2017-12-11T10:10:10Z

@saramartins Thanks for the great review! I didn't think of that space bar for dialogs to be honest, I'll make sure to fix it post-LD. "I accidentally discovered I could fly" hahaha best way to put it :D I'm glad you had that feeling! The feature is so cheap but it can have some effect ;-) The theme connection is that the more turrets you buy in TD, the worst it gets in FPS escape. But it's hard to feel because we didn't have the time to develop the FPS gameplay enough. But we can't stop there, we WILL make it work post-LD and make more levels.

@grl Thank you! I'll disable useless game objects, hopefully that will fix it.

@the-shadermaster Glad you had fun ;-)

Fortress Escape by SpaceMonkey 2017-12-11T10:37:19Z

@fangzhangmnm Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed ;-)

@amras0000 Very good and honest review. I must say I agree with you 100%. Also you pointed out problems almost nobody mentions, like the fact that visually it's a bit overloaded. Also you say that the skybox is not related to the game. Now that you said it, it's true it should be more obvious that you are in a kid's room playing with toys, and not in a "real sci-fi game". Not sure how we'll fix that though, we'll have to figure something out. And next jam we'll try something simpler ! This was too big of an idea for just 72h. Thank you for this constructive review, it helps a lot.

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-05T04:01:23Z

Good composition between the cool 3D assets and the game logic ! And fitting with the theme too. Thank you for bringing more 3D games to LD. Gj!

Stealing Cubes by VengeurK 2017-12-05T02:55:15Z

Very cool concept and challenging too. Walking inside a sphere is interesting and the graphics are very engaging. Gj! (11 cubes)

Empowered State by grizeldi 2017-12-05T11:21:17Z

I had to read the instructions on your submission page to understand what I had to do and what each turret is for, but then it was very intuitive so good job on the controls ! I like your environment and the miner animation. Also the game concept if very fitting with the theme ! I know how it feels posting a game that your think still has some flaws, but look at what has been done ! Congratulations and I'm looking forward for your next game. Good job guys !

SHROOOMS by theloneplant 2017-12-05T11:53:53Z

Well that was some good stuff there! I mashed those arrow keys like crazy in the end haha Obviously very nice pixel art, graphic effects and mechanics. I was expecting some glitches when chased by a huge group of angry shrooms but nothing really, not a jiggle. That is solid coding. I only wish there was a deeper gameplay in the end-game, but it's not like anything is missing either. Well done ! I hope I'll be able to deliver games like this one in the future :)

Shapes Are Mean by BlakeMcDeezy 2017-12-05T20:02:37Z

Your gameplay is innovative, and although it's quite simple, in the end it still feels "out of the box". But what I enjoyed the most is the rythm! It gives the game some life with all that bouncing UI. There is a small graphical bug where a laser is "cut" horizontally, at about 1/3 of the screen's height. Of course a few sprites could have been better than squares and triangles, but not everybody is an artist obviously :) Well done !

LD42 — Running out of space

Quicksort by Yngvarr 2018-08-15T12:19:19Z

I needed a minute to adapt to the controls, but after that I could control the robot without any problem, and was mashing the keyboard to organise shelves etc. I also needed a minute to understand what I had to do, even if it was quite obvious ^^' But I really had fun once I understood everything! It didn't feel tedious "like work" for me because it was fun to try and memorize where I put every box, so when the marker pops I knew where to go (not everytime). At the end I had everything well organized but one box never showed up...

2018-08-15_14h10_17.png

Final Score 155

So I had to wait and it never came. It killed the flow for me. Maybe a simple trick would have been to only request crates that are on map, or least will arrive soon.

Other than that, it's really well made and FUN! Audio would be awesome for next time. Maybe next time we could team up for audio?

Quicksort by Yngvarr 2018-08-29T19:41:04Z

@yngvarr So much passion in your comments haha, you must have done something right here :D I don't know how I became the point of reference in the player base but I'm glad I inspired others to make higher scores.

@gelisam I think you are very right in your analysis. The best strategy seems to spread those crates as much as possible so you can see all of them, while still being able to move in between and pick the one you need. But in the end you always need that one crate that just popped at the bottom of the spawner pile and you're just stuck and helpless.

The source code is available so if somebody wants to fix it... I would probably just give the player 3 "jokers" that reset the requested crates. Almost no programming needed, and almost no art (just a "reset" icon). I know I would play again to test it and beat my score.

@philstrahl Really funny that you played this game too! I'm watching part 2 of Phil Plays Ludum Dare tonight and encourage everyone to check it out : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLytdAQ0Ig4

Freezing Sky by Zeriver 2018-08-16T17:00:26Z

I'm a huge Frostpunk fan so I have to like this game. It seems like a ton of work to do all of that just by yourself, so congratulations already! The sound design is cool and the voices add personality to the game. One very small detail that could be improved is that fact that you can select a building and decide where to place it even if you don't have enough resources. I'm not 100% sur how they fixed this in Frostpunk, I think the building stays red so you can never place it. One last thing, sometimes buildings are selected and you can't deselect them very easily. I tried to deselect everything by pressing Escape and my whole game was lost :( I know it's a tradition in LD to quit the game just by pressing Escape, but a little confirmation wouldn't hurt sometimes ;-) Keep up the awesome work! I'll check your steam game and I hope you can use your steam money to support more projects in the future.

EVOLUTION by Noa Calice 2018-08-13T00:09:00Z

What a wonderful game! Your art is even better than usual, and the animations are lovely. I love you interpretation of the theme and the message it’s sending.Very gore and disturbing too in the end. A game I will share with my friends!

Wormhole Arena by SpaceMonkey 2018-08-14T00:55:32Z

@darkguardsman Thank you for your comment! Today we had to make a hard decision between cutting some features or leaving a few minor issues like the lack of tutorial. Hopefully you could still enjoy the gameplay!

@sentrovasi Thanks!! We really tried hard to make it fun and I'm glad you could feel it <3

Wormhole Arena by SpaceMonkey 2018-08-14T01:25:00Z

@diego-goncalves It's my favorite game mode too! I'm so glad you had fun. The caster, J-Star, also made all the sound effects and music in one day. I included all the voices half an hour before submitting :X

Wormhole Arena by SpaceMonkey 2018-08-15T12:31:44Z

@kmce @merdeboi @troligtvis @nats @andreas-roschal @biowater @awix @ditzel @bob152

Thank you for your awesome feedback!

We will try to fix what can be in a post-jam version, including 4 players support and more reasons to use powerups (because a lot of people don't use it and we put a ton of effort into it :D). Some game-breaking bugs were fixed already and published, like the Quit button of the menu not working. Huge thanks to @talops for that ;-)

HAVE FUN

Wormhole Arena by SpaceMonkey 2018-08-17T15:32:45Z

@tigerj We totally agree with the problems you point out!

Should we decided to make a post-jam version, we would probably replace the powerups by pickups that spawn on the field, so players can keep their eyes on the battlefield.

Since we want the game to be playable in local multiplayer, we have to keep the respawn marker visible for all players, although I understand how awesome it could be to respawn behind your opponent and surprise them. But you are right, respawn-instakill is a problem we have to address. We have ideas that imply things like making the player invincible for a short amount of time after respawn, or give them a reflecting shield, or allowing the player/AI to respawn a little bit before the cooldown in order to make the respawn location a little harder to predict.

Thanks again for the insightful feedback! See you on discord or on stream.

cargOS by tigerj 2018-08-14T12:52:45Z

Love the art! You are developing a real skill for it (and I should do the same). The music is fitting the mood perfectly. Maybe a next time you can try to duplicate your pattern a few times a just add a little bit of variation? It's a bit hard to catch the boxes, especially when they are moving, but I love the concept. I'm thinking this could be great with a drag-and-drop mechanic, and maybe upgrades to buy more teleporters, buy more room to store... Might also work great on mobile? But you know better. Excellent job mate!

Waste of Time by Reispfannenfresser 2018-08-14T11:28:05Z

Awesome teamwork! The graphics look nice and the sound effects fit the game nicely. The controls are quite hard though and you can't always see what you are doing. Also I did not really understand why I lost most of the time, I suppose it could be a bit more clear. Keep making games! ;-)

The Island Of Decay by Penca53 2018-08-14T11:19:08Z

Congratulations for finishing your first LD game! We all know how impressive it can be and how much work it is. I must say the graphics look nice, but I have no idea what to do so I just walked around and explored the map until I died of dehydration xD Keep making games!

The Island Of Decay by Penca53 2018-08-14T13:49:05Z

@penca53 Submission day is the extra day you have to post your game. Not work on it, just post it an fill the page, which you did already. Usually it's just an hour, but the website gets super slow after the time limit so they always add a little bit more. One day is the first time though.

Proxemik - Personal space invasion by troligtvis 2018-08-14T14:18:32Z

I love the art style and animations! Your take on the theme is also very original and funny. The game itself is simple but efficient, with just enough mechanics to properly defend yourself against those disrespectful huggers. Well done mate! Keep making games ;-)

give-way-for-sails by Raptosaur 2018-08-14T11:05:50Z

The music is neat and the game is FUN. Very well done. For me the difficulty is just a little bit too high, which makes my sessions a bit too short, but that's always very personal. Maybe a way to avoid that would have been to start quite slow and raise the speed over time? But again, very fun and simple in the best kind of way.

Big Chickies by Alex Brull 2018-08-20T13:29:59Z

The art and music are amazing! Not a huge fan the gameplay though. Controls don't feel very good either. I really like your take on the theme, having chicken run out of space because of their own eggs is very original. I will quote another game dev (who thought me a lot) by giving this small tip for LD : What doesn't fit 100% with the theme, don't do it. This tips helps me a lot when scoping. This is only my opinion but for me shooting was not necessary and it hurts the gameplay even. With that time you could have polished the controls and the rest of gameplay. I know first hand how hard to work as a team though, so these are only ideas to improve, of course you did an awesome job overall! Keep making games guys ;-) <3

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Effigies by Geckoo1337 2018-12-11T18:25:20Z

Excellent puzzle game! I had fun and finished the game. I realized that levels with more constraints (snakes, "forbidden" box moves) were actually easier in a way because you just have less options consider. I absolutely love the music, great job on that one too. I didn't really feel like I was making sacrifices? An idea could have been to have more effigies than you need to finish the level, and you have to sacrifice some of them to win? Anyway great job overall, keep making games ;-)

Soulmart by Yngvarr 2018-12-04T21:22:31Z

Cool game! With some thinking to it. I always like when a game is mixed with a good story, and mythology is great for that. It fits the theme perfectly too. Maybe I would have tried to help the player a little bit more but I know it's hard to do in a jam game. Great work team!

The Sacrificial Trail by PhilStrahl 2018-12-15T12:11:43Z

It's always a pleasure to play your games! I really enjoy reading your texts, they feel super polished. I will be honest and say I didn't really find very interesting the resource management part. But I know these games are extremely hard to make because they rely so much on the writing (it's already a ton of work), and the coding aspect isn't easy at all (not sure how it's handled in Twine). You might want to check TigerJ's entry "Quest for the West" as it's exactly the same concept, just pushed in a slightly different direction. Great work! Looking forward for your next game <3

Ethic in the machine by Toulou 2018-12-10T12:56:06Z

I really felt like I was in front of a station terminal in some alien movie, excellent job on the mood and visual aspect of the game! I loved it instantly thanks to that background story. In that sense it is very similar to Duskers. Also the favicon made me laugh 2018-12-10_13h42_42.png

In terms of mechanics, like others said, I didn't feel like my decisions were very impactful, hence I didn't feel like I was really making sacrifices. I suppose it could be clearer in the propositions what you are sacrificing? But it's a ton of work for sure to really make a game like this balanced and deep (a game like Reigns takes months to "write").

In all in all, excellent job! I would totally play a game like this if it had a stronger and deeper story. Maybe this could be a series with stories from different stations, so you don't even have to play them in a specific order. Those stories could be very reminiscent of Fallout vaults too, which we all love.

Riddles of Sacrifice by AdroitConceptions 2018-12-20T13:30:05Z

A cool game that works really well! Choosing what to sacrifice when you open a door is a very interesting concept, but for me it broke the flow the game that I have to choose it from a dialog box. Especially because you have that timer running. Maybe it would have been simpler to just have a few "door types" and each time you go through the door, the downgrade is applied. That way you don't change the mechanics, you just include it inside le level design. It can still be a choice (multiple doors to choose from) but it doesn't always have to be. It's just an idea of course ;-)

Congratulations on providing so much content in just 48h by the way! That's really impressive. All that UI, menus, effects... Good job on the music too, it fits the mood of the game really well.

I'll try the post-jam version right now ^^

He Has Hostages by Joseph Manley 2018-12-04T03:43:47Z

The graphics are amazing and the level design is great too. I think the idea of sacrificing hostages in a bank fits the theme. Very nice menu too, with a lot of sections and looking great! If I have one thing to say maybe is that the mechanics feels a bit repetitive after some time. But other than that, great job guys!! Have a nice rest \o/

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-04T05:59:14Z

Thanks for the feedback and for the tip! I'll make sure to try it. I'm really glad to know you got into it ;-) We tried to make the game as fun as possible.

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-05T22:52:37Z

@luca1152 Sorry for not including proper instructions in the game! I now updated this page with more information so the game can be more enjoyable for everyone  Thanks for playing <3

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-05T22:54:17Z

@eddie-li Thank you so much for playing! It is actually a design choice to allow for the money to be above zero, it would feel like cheating if you didn't have to pay for those workers ;-) you can think of it as a loan?

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-05T22:58:32Z

@abso Best comment :100:

If you are serious about that art you can contact me on twitter or Discord :v: (see my profile)

Ho and earning money is easy, but scoring is much much harder haha

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-06T00:22:54Z

@spaceface14dev Thank you for playing! Indeed we wanted to include an injury system (for not using the helmet) and a "mood" system that would make unhappy workers leave or stop working. We might do it post-jam?

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-08T10:46:39Z

@raindrinker @yngvarr Thank you guys so much for your feedback! Having friends play the game and explain what they liked and didn't like about it, as well as giving ideas to improve it, is the best thing <3 Especially since I love your games too. I already filled our team's Trello with your ideas, and should be able to work on it this weekend :fingers_crossed:

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-08T10:55:42Z

@joh Good point on the lack of a fail state. Making bad moral choices doesn't have enough of an impact on the game itself, and just on the score right now. We wanted to include more of that but ran out of time. Thankfully, we can still try to fix-it ;-) Thanks for playing!!

@prodigalson The game is indeed hard to understand without instructions. Right now they are on the game's page. I might try to include a way to teach the players how to play in the game itself when it has a more "finished" state in terms of mechanics. Thanks for your feedback!

@digitaldude555 I'm really glad you liked our take on the theme! We tried to take it a step forward, hoping players would understand. Thank you for playing ;-)

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-10T12:34:50Z

@toulou Thanks for you feedback! I'm sorry, it's not very clear that the goal is not to make money, but to have a good score (your Uncle doesn't say that you have to make money). You actually have a score penalty when you hire red workers or do anything wrong (this represents your Uncle "disliking" your choices). We began changing the game to include the "bad side" of hiring underpaid workers in the mechanics themselves. It was the plan from the beginning but we had to cut corners to get it done in time ;-) Thanks for playing, I'll try your game asap!

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-12T08:38:43Z

@jamscenter Great score and thank you so much for posting your gameplay on youtube, it helps us a ton  I think you will love the next version. It will include, amongst other things, an online leaderboard.

Gold Digger by SpaceMonkey 2018-12-13T07:48:44Z

@geckoo1337 Thank you so much for playing! I've tried to contact you on twitter because I'd love to have a little chat with you, but if you don't have time for this don't worry, I can understand.

@paulhocker Thanks for noticing the effort on balance ;-) We spent the last 6 or 7 hours trying to balance the game as well as we could. We already made changes post-ld : helmets are now cheaper and we reduced the impact of RNG. I'll try to release a version after the voting period ends.

Nourish Nosferatu by drnoir 2018-12-04T16:33:33Z

Nice storytelling! I like that you used different asset packs and still managed to make it feel consistent. Obviously the theme is well respected, and I had a few good laughs reading the dialogs ;-) Great job overall, well done!

Quest for the West by tigerj 2018-12-05T21:56:00Z

The art is adorable, and the stories are well written. Very chill mood! I played it twice. You can really feel all the love you put in there! Maybe the music was the only thing I liked a bit less. Really well done man!

Merciless gods by Raindrinker 2018-12-05T22:32:17Z

Wow! Great idea with strong moral choices, and the mechanic itself could be really deep with more options to choose from! I survived 30 years. The art is top notch as usual. Hats down man

Dark Villagers by AwiX 2018-12-13T13:08:01Z

A fun game! I had what seemed like a bug, when my stone production was at +10 but I actually never received any stone. But that's just some big to fix. I obviously love the art and the general mood of the game. These games are not easy to make during a jam. Great job ;-)

First time by co181127 2018-12-12T15:55:50Z

Nice take on the theme! It would increase the sensation of sacrifice if we had room for mistakes. Right now I feel like it's very easy to loose and the tension is immediately released because you just have the end screen ;-) The graphics look nice and the music is cool! Awesome work, keep making games <3

Meta Magic by Inkie Inc 2018-12-05T23:30:33Z

I loved the game's feel and quickly realized that the fireball was the way to go, as you can see thanks to this totally not fake screenshot :

Gold Digger.png

More seriously the controls feel responsive and the enemies are just forgiving enough. I like the music too. The special effect when you use your soul is really great and it surprised me the first time hehe.

GREAT JOB, keep making games <3

Limberman by krasse 2019-05-02T18:24:56Z

Very cool art style! I had a lot of fun exploring the dungeon, and the music fits the mood perfectly. I would have love a little bit more complexity on the combat mechanics but that's already so much work for three days. Excellent work guys ;-) Keep making games.

Hight Point by tangiblegames 2019-05-02T18:18:42Z

Very clean UI and a challenging mechanic! Very well scoped too. And the little stories give it personality. Having the online leaderboard is appreciated, but the fact that you can see other players scores in the bottom is even better. Very well done!

Deadline by Sn4pi 2019-05-02T19:05:28Z

Wonderful pixelart! The game reminded me a lot of infectonator, with those cute graphics and chilly music. I really loved that game. The phase when people are just feeling is a little bit long. Maybe finish it after a certain time without anybody dying? Nice use of the theme by the way and obviously an awesome job ;-) Keep making games!

Bakemono by Lawrence 2019-05-02T18:50:09Z

Cool art style but the vfx especially are out of this world. And it's a compo entry! Wow.The gameplay is simple but super efficient with that pinch of screen shake on top. Sound effects really fit the game and give it a deep retro mood. I'll have to check your other games. Excellent job!

Provide by RedHermit 2019-04-30T16:47:36Z

I had a nice moment playing your game! Loving the visual style. I know it's mostly downloaded assets, but it's only part of the job, and you really nailed the composition and colors. I especially enjoyed the mood of the game. It's a quick but well designed emotional journey through work, family, and unicorns. The music fits perfectly and I really felt the pressure increase when the pitch changed! Excellent work

Mouseketeer by SpaceMonkey 2019-04-30T15:37:15Z

Thanks @yngvarr !! Sorry for the bug on your second run. We had to rush so much to finish it that we have a lot of these small issues. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it still!

Mouseketeer by SpaceMonkey 2019-05-02T19:07:00Z

@juhani-koskinen Sorry! We clearly overscoped and didn't have time to include all the sfx ^^' They were all ready so it's a real shame. Thanks for playing!

Mouseketeer by SpaceMonkey 2019-05-02T19:07:46Z

@drrozza I didn't know that game! Thanks for sharing, it's a good reference.

@redhermit I take that compliment on polish very seriously comming from you, thanks! It was a ton of features but fortunately some of them we implemented already in previous projects so we knew how to do it fast. Thanks for playing <3

Mouseketeer by SpaceMonkey 2019-05-02T19:13:58Z

@black-flag I'm glad you enjoyed the dialogs! It was our first time really trying to include more storytelling in our game. I'm really happy to hear that some players enjoyed it ;-) Thanks for playing

Mouseketeer by SpaceMonkey 2019-05-02T20:30:11Z

Thanks for your feedback @sebeee ! We decided to make a roguelite in which you have a life insurence so each time you die, you earn money. In that sense, each life you loose is more currency. I'm usually not the best at finding a good idea for the theme, but this time I think our team did pretty well on that part? Sure it could have been executed better, but the idea fitted the theme quite well in my opinion.

Mouseketeer by SpaceMonkey 2019-05-02T21:17:02Z

@tangiblegames Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing ;-)

Mouseketeer by SpaceMonkey 2019-05-03T08:50:35Z

Thank you so much for this great feedback @atmospherium ! We wanted to implement a small invincibiity period after getting hit but never got the chance to do it before the deadline.

Mouseketeer by SpaceMonkey 2019-05-03T18:55:20Z

@frank-gevaerts Thank you for playing and for your nice words!

Ghostly Tricks by Nelson William 2019-05-02T18:38:06Z

Best use of the theme I've seen so far and a very cool puzzle game! Love the art style and the music too. Very creative. You got a new follower on itch ;-)

Money is Life by lilou_cormic 2019-05-01T14:05:16Z

Very interesting take on a tetris-like match 3 game! Here is my gameplay video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIUj1EVqaYA I hope you like it ;-) Keep making games <3

LD45 — Start with nothing

This Is The Police by Geckoo1337 2019-10-15T13:45:53Z

I think I found a bug. I finished the game but there are no nudes :( Great game though! The art is very cool and puts you in the right mood. Also the text adventure is very enjoyable. I had to play 3 times to compelte the game and couldn't make the text scroll faster using the space bar. Anyway great job, it's always nice to check your games! See ya.

Bacterial by Megalink 2019-10-15T12:14:47Z

Very cool minimalistic art! Very polished, loved those subtle particle effects. I won on first try but I didn't get all the mechanics I think, or maybe I did and you are basically just growing over time? This is fine but I didn't feel enough like I was growing I suppose, or maybe I wasn't doing anything to deserve growing? Hard to say. I always wanted to make a similar game and this will be a good inspiration once I finally get to it ;-) Have my follow. Keep making games!

Lost Somewhere by burakkurkcu 2019-10-15T12:05:09Z

Very cute art! I like how simple the concept is. I don't play hidden objects game and this was an interesting experience. A lot of sound people are looking for teams so don't hesitate to get in contact with someone for music next time :) It would add to the already nice mood. Well done!

Hell Defender by SpaceMonkey 2019-10-09T19:15:51Z

@jordanvang The best way to start is to make non-VR games I'd say. First 2d, then 3d. I watched a lot of tutorials on Unity, C#, 3D, game design (Brackeys, Extra Credits, Blender Guru...) You can contact me on Discord or Twitter if you want to have a chat! Or even better is to join TigerJ's Discord so you can connect with a lot of nice devs : https://discord.gg/EKx5bbg

Hell Defender by SpaceMonkey 2019-10-15T16:43:47Z

@elektroney good point! We wanted to have a small shop between waves but had a lot of other issues during the jam that made it impossible. We will probably do it post-jam though, as we now have all the necessary features.

Deadrun II by jcmoyer 2019-10-15T11:55:55Z

I really love the sound and general mood of the game! Heavy and creepy. I had some enemies go through the walls, which was even more oppressive. Not sure if it was intentionnal though haha, but it doesn't matter. Good game! If you keep making such games, I'd say be careful that sometimes walking in empty corridors can feel very stale. Be sure to keep the player on edge and give him a big safe room to breathe once in a while. Nice work!

Lost Flagship by Wolf4D 2019-10-15T12:57:33Z

Excellent game! Reminds me of Red Alert and Westwood games in general. The epic military music kept me in there for longer than I expected. That's a lot of ships too! Not everything is balanced and really challenging but I don't think it's really needed for such solo games and it's still very enjoyable. The story is nice but the text is full of typos and such. If you want to bring this game further, I'd consider making some corrections on the text. Ask for help if needed. Maybe it's a bit too long too? Idk. I like text in games, I enjoyed the story, and I read it all, but it was a bit painful sometimes. Anyway great game and I'll make sure to try it again if you keep updating it! Awesome work.

Edit: I see you have a VR headset on your profile pic! Our game is VR and nobody can play it. Do you have an Oculus Quest maybe? We can also make a Rift or Go build.

Kebab Stand by DrGrognak 2019-10-15T13:07:23Z

Very simple yet fun mechanic! I love that it's just one button, mouse only, web. Super easy to play but hard to master. Of course it would be better with more polish and a larger shop but it's really nice for just 72h ;-) My kind of mini-game! Well done.

LD46 — Keep it alive

That's Crazy, What? by commanderstitch 2020-04-24T15:17:19Z

Another frantic game that is out of this world! Very unique. I don't know what else to say. I still have no idea what I just played. I need some time alone to think about it.

Don't Touch the Button by Yngvarr 2020-04-21T10:24:54Z

Super nice game! I had a good laugh, and learned a bit of Russian in the process, which is a nice bonus :D Art is lovely. I love this kind of short narrative games with a bit of gameplay elegantly mixed in it. I hope it's not your last game in the genre. Nice job!

Rampage by PhilStrahl 2020-04-21T09:12:52Z

I really love this one! Wonderful concept, amazing and super cute art, chill mood. This needs more levels.

DODGE IT by Welliton 2020-04-25T07:58:18Z

Now that is a hard, very polished arcady game! Graphics and animations are awesome. Gameplay could be a bit more forgiving to my taste, but who am I to judge when I have no loosing condition in my own entry? xD Sound effects and music really fit the mood. The music loop is maybe a bit repetitive? Excellent game overall! I'm surprised it is your first entry as this is high quality stuff. But then I see you have a lot of games on itch (take my follow). Keep making games, I'll keep an eye on them ^^

TankMan Phil by RedHermit 2020-04-22T13:23:04Z

I won on first try and now I feel like a badass \o/ that's the feel of your game in a nutshell :D Excellent mood! Love the art and colors. The whole game is well balanced and full of diversity, with the powerup for shooting speed and the crates of radioactive fluids (those looked badass as well, I can't emphasize enough how you nailed that mood aspect). I felt a bit cheated when of my projectiles went through an enemy. I thought I had unlimited power? Of course I understood right away that I had to shoot a little bit ahead of them and time my shot right, which is a bit more challenging hence more rewarding. I wish I could play for longer but this is the tradition of LD to make short games and I won't argue with that ^^ Impressive craft!

Raising the bar by SpaceMonkey 2020-04-23T08:55:24Z

Huge thanks to everyone who played the game! You guys make it all very much worth the effort.

@ladymistleaf I'm sorry for this sudden ending. I just added an item to the How to play section.

Raising the bar by SpaceMonkey 2020-04-26T08:22:56Z

@reallyqbert Thanks for the inspiring feedback! I agree that the theme isn't very well addressed, as we don't even have a loosing condition. It's a recurring thing with my game ideas. I take the theme as inspiration, but end up doing my own thing. I've learned to live with it :D Maybe one day I'll try and nail the theme for a change? In the meantime, I'm perfectly fine having a slightly lower theme rating.

Thanks for mentioning Diner Dash. It's a classic I've never played. Now I can fix that!

We plan to have a post-jam version and we want to support both relaxing and frantic gameplay, as I understand both can be interesting.

Raising the bar by SpaceMonkey 2020-05-05T19:36:11Z

@weeping-rupee Thank you so much for playing our game on stream! Interesting playthrough. We surely have a lot to improve on the UI and UX.

Soaring by Talops 2020-04-21T09:25:36Z

I really love the concept! Too bad you had so many issues with the tools. Right now my biggest problem is that the environment is hard to read visually because of the lack of contrasted colors. But this game would be amazing with more levels. Oh and good job on the music. It fits really well.

The Flame by sebastianscaini 2020-04-21T17:42:03Z

A nice and moody experience! The end sequence is disturbing enough :D Art style is super cool, sound is awesome. I wish there was a bit more story lines and maybe even some choices? Overall it was a pleasant and unique experience. Well done :)

Type IT! by Hedgy 2020-04-22T13:07:58Z

Another Godot game :D Just for that you earned 10 coolness points. The game itself is well made and IT fITs the theme. Visually it's well polished and I like the sound and visual effects. Instead of having many difficulty levels, it would have been a bit better in my opinion to make words come at you more and more over time, but that's a very personal opinion, and your idea is certainly just as good. Good job! Keep making games <3

The Diamond-Flowered Orchid by Frank Gevaerts 2020-04-24T15:01:44Z

I think this game was much easier than your last one? I didn't struggle as much this time :D Maybe it's just easier when you know what to type? I think you did a great job at hinting those verbs by the way. The experience was very enjoyable and I could really focus on exploration and interacting with the world to check my hypothesis, which is what I really enjoy doing in these games. The sound effects were a great addition as well. One day you might want to turn on of these into a point&click adventure game? With a few more puzzles and nice art, it could be amazing. Anyway great job, looking forward to the next one!

Spring Tree by lilou_cormic 2020-04-21T09:42:27Z

Really cool concept, and I had a nice playful moment with my kid :) Thanks for that. Who would have thought he was into firemen? Sometimes it's not so obvious that collecting some water will loose you the game. I think this mechanic is a bit punishing, and clashing with the general mood of the game. But it's still really fun overall! Well done <3

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

This Party Sucks by Yngvarr 2020-10-06T20:09:36Z

I'm sorry the theme didn't inspire you immediately. At least you did something great with it! Very creative ^^ Love the mood of the game. Controls are nice but could be better. I somehow don't really feel in control of the situation and end up taking hits that don't feel fair. Although maybe I'm just bad at the game and need to blame someone else for my ragequit :D The movement on the disk is well implemented and felt very natural. All the animations are cute and full of life. Nice easter egg too ;-) Well done mate!!

Anomaly 47 by PhilStrahl 2020-10-05T14:28:14Z

As always, a perfect on theme and mood. You sir are reaaally good at telling stories. And it fits with the theme so much. I love it when a game mechanic - death in this case - fits so well in the storyline. Suddenly, death is just another story element. It reminded me of Sunless Sea on that aspect. I just wish you had more time to make the story a bit longer. I'm sure you had a ton of ideas. Great game.

Cursorial by RedHermit 2020-10-08T14:35:29Z

Very cool game :) And a life tip that resonates a lot with my current situation. I hope you found your life purpose a well. Very cute art btw!

Populatio by FabDynamic 2020-10-07T06:23:05Z

Really cool game! Very relaxed gameplay. I love that the controls are so simple. I think chain reactions would feel great in this game? Maybe some planets could have powerups, shooting colonization projectiles when landing. That would add some feedback and power on the player's actions, and create a small "idle game" component. This would also encourage players to beat their high score I think. Just an idea. Anyway well done! Also maybe we should discuss about VR ;-)

Arcane Forest by LadyMistLeaf 2020-10-05T14:08:14Z

I finished the game without using a pen and paper, but it was close! Really cool mood. The art and music fit really well together. Nice take on theme too. Well done ;-)

LD49 — Unstable

All I Want Is Cake by commanderstitch 2021-10-06T21:05:57Z

My LD rating period is starting to feel like catching up with some friends. I'm glad I stopped by your game page to play another one of your crazy experiments :D It was really fun to figure out the game rules, and each time I died I just wanted to try something different. I started surviving much longer once I understood the game is easier when you just hit the control keys instead of keeping them pressed.

Great game ;-) It reminded me how I enjoyed your safari-themed game as well.

FYI I had to play with the jar file as well.

penguin.exe by Yngvarr 2021-10-06T21:51:39Z

Oh my god what did I just play :D It was REALLY awesome. The boot screen immediately sucked me into the universe of the game, and it quickly felt like I was fighting against an old school MSN-era virus. Although way more funny since it's not destroying your actual computer. This one will stay in my mind for a long time. Great job :)

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Delay the President by FreezedIce 2022-04-19T10:45:25Z

I consider myself happy with the 10 bullets avoided xD This is really hard. I had a good laugh at the story. Sorry I can't rate since I couldn't participate this time.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Tiny Creatures by Geckoo1337 2024-10-09T13:34:45Z

I had fun trying to draw patterns and rediscover the general feel of the game of life. There is something inherently enjoyable about pressing a few buttons and witnessing the consequences in the chain reaction produced.

I've always wanted to make a cellular automata game so this is very interesting to see you experiment with this idea as well. Do you think this could be turned into a more classical puzzle game? Is it something you'd like to try eventually? To me Noita is a bit of a proof that it could serve as a mechanic for pretty much any game.

Nice work and I hope you enjoyed your holidays!

Don't Wake me Up by Glassar 2024-10-09T18:36:37Z

Very solid entry. I won't repeat the good comments about the graphics and the mood, which are of course top notch. I also had that stuttering playing the web version and couldn't find a windows build. I'm working on a horror game and this is honestly inspiring to see where you decided to put the effort. I love the exploring, the attention to limiting the player's vision, the green fog creates an intense feeling of danger... Again, inspiring. Keep making games guys.

Black Harvest by creativ4eg 2024-10-09T17:46:59Z

The visuals are simply incredible. And the sound complements it very well. The gameplay is functional and would totally work on mobile. I could definitely see this as a minigame in a larger professional project. Great work!

Ratastrophe by malcore 2024-10-09T18:16:57Z

This is so much work for one person in three days. Very impressive. I wish there was a single player mode? Even if it meant having only one weapon for example. Keep making games <3

Cheddar or Dead: The Purrfect Nightmare by nishchiretvasily 2024-10-09T17:57:45Z

This is really amazing. Simple gameplay mechanics but very fun to play. And the tension. The visuals and sound really make it stressful and immersive. Just brilliant work.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Super Mario Machine Gun by dollarone 2018-04-30T23:37:25Z

The gameplay is fun ! There is something dangerous when you try to copy something, it's missing small details that make it "fake". I'm sure the purists will find something but I wasn't bugged by anything so good job on the graphics and UI. It was a risk and you delivered.

Please hack mario world to add this feature ? :D

Well done !

Dark Soil by Pietro Ferrantelli 2018-04-28T19:10:31Z

This is the best game I played this jam ! I played for a very long time and didn't get bored. I won't start enumerating all the good aspects of this game, the list is too long. It was hard for me to read some of the text in the beginning but honestly the UI is so good I didn't need any tutorial. I was just a bit curious about the background story ? What do I have to do to work with you guys ? ;-) 5/5

Just One More Flap by daneestar 2018-04-28T20:18:32Z

Very original mix ! Simple and efficient. I ended my play session with a ragequit though :D That flappy bird left some trauma and you just reactivated it. Well done !

About Love by maskinmask 2018-04-28T09:21:27Z

I love the graphics, the music fits the mood of the game too, slow paced and relaxing. The animations also respect the same idea, simple and efficient ! Just like the story.

However the gameplay broke the immersion for me. Clicking fast on slow moving shapes doesn't fit the relaxing atmosphere, for me at least. At first I was a bit bored, waiting for the progress bar to fill (small detail but red on red is hard to read). After some time forcing myself to play because I wanted to see the next cutscene, I got almost anxious from waiting and beeing under tension at the same time. This is why I left the game, after a few levels.

This is still obviously a very solid entry ! And it is only my experience. Well done guys ! 4/5

FetchQuest Rally by nuclearfriend 2018-04-24T10:53:45Z

Now that I heard your voice acting I'm even MORE honored by your kind comment. This is a really polished game in all aspects. Good writing too ! I would have liked a little bit more of a learning curve and better rewards, especially with that level of polish haha ! But for 3 days of work I know it probably would have been too much. Well done team ! ;-)

Zoccer by PhilStrahl 2018-04-28T20:43:03Z

I enjoyed kicking the ball around, listening to your moans, and forgetting the game might have another objective than that ! Zombies were satisfying to kill, and I had a revelation after a minute or so that the goal was probably to... score a goal ! Which I did.

@PhilStrahl I know you must have better things to do but it would really make my day if you could give me your opinion on my entry. I'll ship you some coffee if that's what it takes !

Btw I started this jam watching your Keynote. LD wouldn't be the same without you. Keep it up !

Zoccer by PhilStrahl 2018-04-30T05:45:36Z

@PhilStrahl Thank you so much Phil ! It means a lot to me. I don't know how to thank you ... Actually I do know ! There is a super nice coffee roaster in my city. They started in 1864 and stayed a small familial shop. If you accept I'd be totally up for sending you some of their products ? Not for promotion or anything, I just know they make awesome coffee.

Tennis Z by UnidayStudio 2018-04-24T15:00:25Z

Very fun ! I didn't hesitate to go back in after loosing the first time. The music is awesome too, what software did you use ? Cool assets and nicely put together, well done ! Try my game if you like jokes (not all of them make me proud)

Blind Vision by tsjost 2018-04-28T20:05:46Z

I enjoyed the 7 levels ! I'll take your game as an example later on, as I always tend to complicate things. The concept is neat and your level design is on point. Mouth sounds are always fun too. Very nice entry !

B.E.A.S.T.S - Break Everything And Stack Towering Structures by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2018-04-30T22:42:17Z

Modern Art Critic Hero by jeplmr 2018-04-30T23:20:30Z

Nice level design ! The art is top notch. The voices are funny and deliver a cool mood. The sum of work is impressive for a compo. You got a new follower on itch !

Happy Hammer by TheLucky 2018-05-03T18:06:19Z

I really love the art style and music. The controls feel nice, at least in the tutorial part.

The next level is very big and I was immediately hooked by exploration, but in the end I'd say it was a little bit too hard for my liking, and it didn't feel fair due to the slow horizontal control.

The hammering mechanic is really awesome, and the camera shake fits it very well. It might be just me but I felt a bit dizzy after some time playing, maybe I would have used the camera shake only when hammering ? It might be just me honestly, my stomac is in a very bad shape today.

Overall it's a solid entry ! Keep making games :) <3

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-04-24T03:19:28Z

@jaredmercer Thank you for your super kind words! I must say I had a blast during this jam, and reading comments like yours is the best reward we could hope for. Thank you for playing ;-)

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-04-24T03:25:39Z

@MrBreadMan I apologize for your eyes, it's entirely my fault as my partner noticed the same thing, built new assets with less grass, and I didn't get the chance to include them. I'm glad you enjoyed the challenge ! I did my best to design cool tracks, and also tested the levels A LOT until I was happy with the difficulty curve. Thank you so much for playing !!

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-04-24T05:49:41Z

@OldShrimpeyes I probably wouldn't say it is my type of game either to be honest, and this is why I wanted to avoid the usual pitfalls at all cost and keep it FUN. I'm glad we were able to convince you ;-) By the way I totally remember your game from LD40, and I loved it. Let me check that entry of yours ...

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-04-25T12:09:20Z

@Mister_Kweh Thank you ! The rage is really present haha. I feel bad for all the players but I'm proud at the same time. It's a very weird feeling to recieve compliments on my game when I'm mostly making players rage intentionally. At least you get to murder cute bunnies so I guess I'm not too bad of a person in the end. I will check everybody's game, giving priority to those who have less than 20 reviews.

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-04-26T15:22:57Z

@fashionbatman I'm so glad you had fun !! I had fun watching my friends rage and get addicted too. A friend of mine couldn't leave the game and took more than an hour to beat it.

The feedback is too good, I already planned to spend at least one more day to polish the game and make a post-jam version, maybe two.

My plan is to : 1) Fix the sound issues on the WebGL version and try to make it more enjoyable overall. 2) Add a little bit more spice to the ending, and MAYBE lower the difficulty for the last rabbit. At least make it a little bit more fair so you don't have to grind for 20 minutes to beat it. 3) Change a few dialogs. Beleive it or not, but some of those bad jokes make me cringe more than the others ! 4) Save the position of skeletons, so you can see the mess you made when you move around. 5) Find a way to kill the non-dancing bunnies. I had that request a few too many times to ignore it.

I'll post a devlog on itch.io, follow me if you're interested.

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-04-26T20:50:14Z

@BitJester Media It is harsh to ask for 100% it's true. I wanted to lower it to 90-95% but then I would have needed some mechanic for the guard to move away from your path without breaking the immersion too much. Or maybe open a door ? Hmm... I noticed during the tests that 100% on bunny04 (actually guard01) it still very doable for most people if they spend 5 minutes on it. And this is were hardcore gamers would actually start enjoying the game and get really hooked. The problem is, everybody has a different feel for rhythm in general, so it's really hard to have a game that is fit for everyone. I have a decent sense of rhythm and I still need 2-4 tries to beat guard01 (and I played that level >20 times). During the tests, after the jam, I saw a friend beat him on second try. It was almost too easy for him.

At first I designed guard01 thinking I would stop the game there. That's why I made a bump in the difficulty curve, thinking more than 50% of players would quit there but that was ok because there was nothing behind anyway and I had my 5 minutes of gameplay. In the end I added 3 more levels, but didn't have time to adjust the difficulty of guard01, and I knew it wasn't anything critical since most LD testers would stop playing after 5 minutes.

Anyway you have a very good point there, it's something I'll have to fix one way or another if I want to make it into a cool mini-game. It has been on my mind since day 2.

Bunny3 was so rushed, I'm sorry for the sound sync problem, I already had guard01 in mind lol It will be very easy to fix though.

Sorry for the long post and thank you for your feedback !

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-04-30T21:23:24Z

@Darkphnx I'm glad you had fun ! Sorry for the sync problem between the arrows and the music. It's my first rhythm game and I took a very "bruteforce" approach to the problem ! I managed to fix >90% of the sync in the post-jam version, without rewriting code. There is still some room for improvement but it's really hard to notice now. I was still somehow a bit too ambitious with this game. I would have loved to polish it more. Well that's why I'm still working on it when I have time :)

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-04-30T23:08:00Z

@kroltan This is actually a very good idea and it's the first time I hear it. Thank you for your honest relaxed gameplay. I had fun watching you !

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-05-03T08:58:34Z

@Strega Thank you for playing and for your nice comment! I totally agree with the movement speed and added the possibility to run with left shift in the post-jam version. I still need to add a sign to inform the player though.

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-05-03T19:19:37Z

@PhilStrahl

Dude, you are a hero. Producing your keynote, participating in the jam, and then producing videos of gameplay. I hope you plan to rest for a week after that ;-) You deserve it.

"This is on the brink of frustrating me" haha I'm SO sorry. I tested the game a lot and was frustrated too. I knew the notes were slightly out of sync but I couldn't fix it fast enough and the project was too big (which is my #1 mistake) so I did what every dev is tempted to do at some point : turn a bug into a feature. I made the game more and more difficult, and the whole point was to make the player quit at some point, with frustration. I thought "Getting Over It is doing it, so I can do it too!". But honestly I felt so bad watching you suffer during the last 10 minutes. This was evil. At the same time it really shows how kind and patient you are ! The least I can do now is honor my promise, and I hope you can forgive me. The package will be on its way either tomorrow or on Monday.

Your feedback was super useful to me, and I agree with all the negative points. The first point is to fix the rhythm game and add a difficulty option. I plan to fix all the other problems you and others mentioned and make it into my first very humble mini-game.

We small indies are so lucky to have you ! Much love <3ο»Ώ

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-05-12T15:52:33Z

@EPIIC - LesGougnafiers Thank you! Actually my dream would have been to have the bunnies explode just like they do in Happy Tree Friends. Clearly a reference here !

Dancing Club Bloodlust by SpaceMonkey 2018-05-12T15:57:08Z

@tigerj You are right there is no punishment for extra presses. It is actually a way to cheat, just spam all the keys. I had a lot of fun watching a friend finish the game that way, and I wanted to make a special ending for the "cheaters". Maybe one day ! I reuploaded the Jam version by the way, sorry for not spotting this earlier. I'm glad I at least had that watermark there.

Thank you for your time. You got a new subscriber on Youtube btw.

Soul Sword by Raiyumi 2018-04-24T20:56:56Z

I just started the game and I feel immersed already. Nice ambiant track, simple yet effective graphics, even the camera smooth the fitting the feel of the scene. The character's animation is very fluid.

Combat is very effective, the camera shake feels awesome, the slashes too. Aaaaand there is a rogue like mechanic haha, good job ! It reminds me a little bit of Enter the Gungeon. 5/5

Match Attack! by LatchGameDev 2018-04-30T22:36:42Z

Cool graphics and sound ! Simple yet efficient. And fits the theme perfectly. I guess guiding the player through a difficulty curve would be next ? I don't see any problem to be honest, it's a nice jam game. Well done !

Numbness by Velocity7 2018-04-28T18:49:47Z

I really enjoyed playing your game until the end. The mood is present and consistent the whole time. Music and scene transitions are fitting the game too. I also loved your mix of genres ! It feels good to play a platformer with keyboard and mouse. If I had to name one thing to improve it would be the character controller. The fall seems a bit too slow and the controls don't feel precise enough I would say. However your game does not demand a lot of precision with the jump so it was not a major problem. I also noticed that you can't jump when you stand on a barrel, but again, it does not break the game.

Very well done for a one-man team ! And your first LD submission ! I'm looking forward for your next entry.

Eyes on the Prize by phearbot 2018-04-30T21:51:54Z

I always try to jump right in the games without reading description or comments, because I think a game should explain itself. It's late and everything but I honestly did not understand there was a crafting system. There is no time to think or look a the tiny UI because the monsters rush at you immediately.

Difficulty is obviously too high for single player.

I see now that you have gamepad support, this is of course really nice ! I would have liked to try it with friends but everybody here is asleep ^^'

The graphics however are very good and consistent. I had the impression of playing a top-down doom ! Which was honestly pleasant. The music fit that mood too ! Good job.

This is a solid first entry, continue making games ! You'll be proud of every step ! I hope my remarks aren't too harsh, I honestly tred to give you the feedback to improve, with love :)

Magic and Machines by tigerj 2018-05-13T08:13:53Z

Very nice starting menu, it explains a lot of stuff very fast.

Controls are good but for me there is problem with the camera's vertical movement. I'll try to explain. When you go in a direction, the camera offsets in that direction so you can see in front of you. But when you get chased by an enemy, and you try to flee, the camera goes up and down way too much. It will get me nauseous for sure if I play too much.

The EMP effect is really nice, I love it. Maybe just give it a smoother transition when it disappears at the end, like a fade out. It's implemented in Unity's particle system, with a nice curve.

I expected to display the ingame menu when I pressed the escape key, not leave the game without a prompt. I really like the art style, and the little shadows add a lot to the immersion. The music complements it very well. And even though you didn't produce it, it's still a good choice. You might want to try Bosca Ceoil for your next entry ? I know you know about it, I just don't know why you didn't use it. Seriously making simple game music is easier then it seems.

Anyway VERY nice entry overall. You say you are making game since you're very young, well it shows ! I'll follow your work on itch, twitch and youtube.

Flight Deck by Kovakomes 2018-04-25T21:32:56Z

The gameplay is very deep for a jam game! Very well done. It must be hard to coordinate a team of 5 too. It was a little hard to understand everything that was going on though. The first few turns I played random card to try and understand how the gauges would react. I guess they all go from 0 to 100 but it's hard to be sure. Once again well done ! I'm looking forward for your next games :)

Beat Boxer by jaredmercer 2018-04-24T02:45:38Z

Nice pixel art ! The controls are quite precise too. The music is a bit rough though. Maybe try Bosca Ceoil for your music next time ? See you at LD42 ;-) Feel free to try our game by the way, it's a rhythm game too.

Gender Circles by EkkoEkko 2018-04-30T18:21:16Z

68 ! Haha I'm really bad at this game. I had fun though !! Probably the best game I tried this LD in terms of fun. Very challenging. And it's the kind of difficulty you can overcome by learning, the sacred kind of hard, the one everyone respects... For a reason ! Really well done and looking forward for your next games (or previous ones?).

Transmute by Evan Leibman 2018-04-24T03:45:10Z

At first I was a bit disappointed by the lack of sound and tutorial, but your level design is so good that I quickly forgot my first impression ! I noticed the "jump wall" mechanic by accident and was positively surprised too. Not to mention the other character you can control to solve more complex puzzles. That, sir, is a solid entry ! Good job on your first LD!

Fail Fast Co. by hunz 2018-04-30T22:25:08Z

Well my feedback on twitch wasn't very original haha, I guess everybody likes your game once they understand it. Try to make a few super simple levels with very little mechanics first and then introduce them slowly. It's the weakest link in your game, which is too bad because it's the entry point and the rest of the game is really nice.

Graphics : Check

Audio : Check

Theme : Check

Mood : Check

Fun : A little bit to overwhelming at first launch, but check !

Congratulations on finishing your first LD game ! It's a big challenge to make a game alone in such a short amount of time.

Your art style is minimalist but it totally fits your game, well done on that part. I know you didn't make the music but it's a good choice nonetheless. Were did you find it ? I like the way your chose to interpret the theme, and I know some people will think it's just a dating game, but in my opinion LD themes are meant to be twisted a little bit. And mixing dating with dogs is quite incompatible to me ! So very good job on that part. The first thing I would change however is add some text to say that the player needs to press "space" in order to continue. Honestly I was very close to not even try your game because I thought it was a glitch with flash that I couldn't click. Even for a simple game, always tell the player what to do, never let them guess.

Also, like others mentioned, it's really hard to see how well we are doing on that hidden love variable. I understand you want to keep it hidden, but then maybe just give some visual feedback on the dog every 25%, like on the eyes or mouth and finally some blushing ?

Very good job overall, keep making games ! Ho and rate more games, it would be a shame not to have those 20 ratings.

Guys I can't play your game because the archive seems corrupted... Could you compress it with .zip instead of .rar ? Thanks

Nice entry and cool level design ! A little bit of sound would have been nice, to reinforce the mood you want to install. The mechanics are simple but effective ! Well done :)
