I like the Freeze Screen

drnoir 2018-12-04 14:24

@capnat The freeze screen?

drnoir 2018-12-04 14:25

@capnat You mean the interaction for chatting?

spacemonkey 2018-12-04 16:33

Nice storytelling! I like that you used different asset packs and still managed to make it feel consistent. Obviously the theme is well respected, and I had a few good laughs reading the dialogs ;-) Great job overall, well done!

drnoir 2018-12-04 16:50

@spacemonkey ahhh cheers mate, yes worked a lot on trying to give it atmosphere despite using asset packs (working alone so in the scope of what I wanted to make didn't really have much choice). Yup had to write the dialogue super fast but tried to put a bit of sardonic humour into it. I'm just about to stream for a bit playing some games so will check out your entry.

Really great experience ! Hard to chose the victim :p

Some feedback: Found the best blood for the master. Nice setting, a few times you can go behind props and see that there is nothing behind them. I like the big buildings surrounding the plaza, it is well done. Low poly, good for performance and very effectful.

Since we both do UE4 games: Try to use disable movement via the movement component, set input to ui only, display mouse cursor and enable it again when the dialog is over. I also recommend to use ray tracing to check if you clicked on a character to open the menu instead of using a collider. Feels more natural.

Thanks for submitting this. I liekd the graphics but I found the "story" (dialogues) too "flat"

drnoir 2018-12-26 17:07

@firesplash-entertainment yes I want to work on that more myself, but making things work took over as is often the case haha, thanks for playing
