A great little experience; not a parciularly new concept, but the music definitely gets me in the mood to relax and spend time working it out!

kevinmolitor 2017-12-05 04:03

I really enjoyed it ! Good luck !

spacemonkey 2017-12-05 04:13

A very good game I'll keep in my bookmarks. Nice algorythm I bet! Nice music too, and very chilly overall. Very gj guys ;-)

mathfehr 2017-12-05 04:18

I Really enjoyed the aesthetic and the music. Also, your level generator works particularly well !

vengeurk 2017-12-05 04:24

Spent 18 minutes to solve a Ridiculous one. It is a smart puzzle game and I love the look and feel.

mr-matt 2017-12-05 04:26

I love this game, very simple but very fun. I managed to solve the ridiculous mode in 18 minutes, 220 moves and 1465 clicks!

dibu13 2017-12-05 04:27

A complete game that does not look like game jam, I like it a lot. I have completed a level in ridiculous difficulty and it has been a challenge. Congratulations!!

orio 2017-12-05 04:32

I loved it, the music was very relaxing and even the easiest mode was enough of a challenge to keep me engaged, without being frustratingly difficult. Normally I don't have much patience for puzzle games but the soothing mood really mellowed me out and got me into it, and it's very satisfying seeing all the trees get to bloom!

spyispie120 2017-12-05 06:38

The game mechanic is simple but surprisingly fun to play. The relaxing music helped me calm down before I pull my hair out while trying to solve the ridiculous mode. You guys did an awesome job. Great game as always!

g12345 2017-12-05 16:25

That was a really nice looking execution of the old network puzzle game! Also, really nice soft music, good for puzzling.

janachumi 2017-12-05 19:37

I've had a great time playing it. Great art.

rojo 2017-12-05 20:06

I like that the game feels finished. The art was great and the sound was fitting as well. I think having a few more types of tiles / effects would have made things a bit more interesting once you get the basics down.

gyfis 2017-12-06 21:00

I really like the game! I played this kind of games before and enjoyed it but this one seems polished which is nice for the time given to the competition. I also like that it pretty directly fits into the theme. Thanks for the game!

jamioflan 2017-12-06 21:08

Loved this game. It felt really relaxing to work through the larger maps

mase 2017-12-06 21:15

Nice cohesive & detailed art style. The completeness & stability of the game is impressive as well.

kyle-pham 2017-12-06 21:23

This game is so complete. I completed the ridiculous mode, and it is really RIDICULOUS. I was going to comment that there should be a pause button but you even made it. Really complete game. The audio really calms you down. I like the little details in the game where one of the cloud has rain under it. The only suggestion is maybe to change some of the "cut-off" houses for the graphics. Overall, excellent game. I really enjoyed playing it.

ihateyouse 2017-12-06 21:27

great puzzle game. This really feels like a great effort for a weekend. I could see playing this on my phone while waiting somewhere. Very well done!

tuism 2017-12-06 21:43

Awesome! Really fantastic game, great concept, it kiiiinda fits the theme, but I'm not entirely sure about that :)

Great graphics, nice animation touches and flourishes everywhere. The clouds are gorgeous though slightly annoying when over where you're looking at.

The mechanics are reminiscent of Minesweeper, but obviously not the same, and in that it's like an instant classic. SHIP ITTTT! :D

But dangit it gets really hard :)

Some issues: I can't seem to get out of a game once it starts? That seems to be an oversight. Escape doesn't work, no button to press on screen that I could see. And the "next level" vs "change difficulty" doesn't quite make sense, does next level increase difficulty?

serpentworks-games 2017-12-06 22:00

This was a pleasure to play! There's a calm atmosphere to it, and the puzzles scale really well with the difficulty. I do think there should be a way to rotate the pieces the other way; I found I wasted a lot of clicks trying to turn pieces 270 degrees.

Otherwise, I really enjoyed it! Great job!

hertz14 2017-12-06 23:11

This is a very nice, very chill game. It has similarities to other games but its charm and personality really make it stand out. It's very polished, in a very finished-looking state, and even the title screen sets it apart as a finished product. The game logic works very well and the randomisation (I'm guessing it's randomised?) makes each new game a nice challenge. It's not too difficult or too easy and it is very rewarding to play.

The one thing I would suggest is to add a few more sfx to spice up the game a little. Maybe something that plays whenever a new channel of water is connected to a tree or something. Nothing too intrusive though, just similar to the subtle click sounds you have now. The music is very nice, a bit repetitive but that fits the chill nature of the game.

Overall a joy to play, nice work!

failedstarfish 2017-12-06 23:24

Hi @tuism If you press P you can pause the game and quit from the pause menu. Also there is 3 levels for each difficulty, so the next level button moves to a different level but the same difficulty.

malero 2017-12-07 01:28

For some reason I thought this game was going to have something to do with Twin Peaks. Something about the start screen that made me think that... I love puzzle games and this one is really good. Awesome work!

fabian-pohl 2017-12-07 14:59

Nice addictive little puzzler. Nice fitting art and sound. Realy nice work.

cubeeo 2017-12-08 02:51

So, here was my experience: I started on the easiest mode, figuring I'd work my way up. And, you know what, I was struggling. Due to the nature of this being LD and some games not working, I returned here to make sure the game was fully functioning. The comments led me to believe it was, so I returned to the game, this time I skipped to the next hardest level. And I was able to beat it. Then, next round, I got it fast. So, I don't know what was going on for me the first time round on the super easy level, but maybe make that one simpler, because I wasn't acclimated to the game yet. I don't know. Anyway, I enjoyed the game. The mood was nice, with the audio making for a pleasant experience. It was an enjoyable puzzler. I'd agree about adding a button or something to go to the menu. Also, my impression is that "Next Level" does not take you to next difficulty. So, if you're playing and want to go to the next difficulty, there's not really a way to do that, since there's no way to get back to the menu. Someone above said there's a pause button, but I've looked (on the web version) and can't find it. There's no way for anyone to be able to know they need to press P. But, good job. I only mention those little tweaks because it's a game worth playing, and those little improvements can help quite a bit. Also, leaderboard stuff doesn't work, fwiw.

Oh, and I took a picture of my third try, when I finally went fast :P

@cubeeo Thanks for the feed back, if we update the game in the future we will definitely take this into account. We could have made the next level and change difficulty buttons a bit clearer but as always, we were in a bit of a rush at the end. We should have called the next level button New level, as it gives you a new level at the same difficulty. As for the pause button, it is definitely there. If you press "p" it will take you to the pause menu, it does say this in the instructions above but maybe it should be clearer in game. We'll have a look at the leader boards and check they are still working. I'm glad you enjoyed the game despite the problems you had

louis-denizet 2017-12-09 10:34

Great use of the theme and really nice polish, one of the best I've seen so far, well done ;)

dunin 2017-12-09 14:39

Excellent puzzle game!

Seems that it's polished and finished, congratulation!

And thanks for the right click, it is really necessary...

You speak about 3 levels per difficulty, so it's not generate? If you can create a puzzle generator, or doing a lot of new levels, you have a perfect simple puzzle game finished.

(ridiculous level: 06:49, 191 tiles moved, 425 click count)

ithildin 2017-12-10 02:45

Great execution of a fitting mechanic! The music had a relaxing vibe and it led you as you kept rotating the tiles, and graphics were cute.

It almost looks like a finished game, congrats!!

hitchh1k3r 2017-12-12 01:04

This game was awesome. I really like puzzle games, and this one was a lot of fun. The music added a relaxing feel that fit well with bringing water to trees. I did not have a good intuition about how many rotations it would take to lock a piece in place and often found myself spinning past where I wanted to go, this was a bit annoying since the high score is based on rotations. Maybe a right click to undo mechanic could have helped me. ^_^ I'm amazed by the number of levels you guys finished, good job!

thorneto 2017-12-12 01:14

Its not the most original game if I'm being honest but that doesn't really matter. Very high level of polish visually and with the music. A lot of variety in the difficulties was great. It was also actually fun to play which is the most important thing.

2017-12-12 01:57

This is so good. Love the music, and the animation of the trees as they are watered and flower. I didn't read the Help section at first, so even the beginner level of difficulty seemed daunting. I backed it down to casual and then it clicked that an end can't face off the playing grid.

The timer and click count are great additions, allowing the player to choose what goal to go for. Great work all.

patrick-woodcock 2017-12-13 21:18

Great game. I love the pixel art and it's well polished.

paulhocker 2017-12-14 04:01

just a great game - loved the atmosphere and the polish - awesome

Screenshot 2017-12-15 03.32.58.png

Really nice mood! I loved this kind of relaxing game. This is certainly the best experience I had among similar games.

The half-houses puzzle me a bit but they're cool in their own way. And I love the passing clouds, it enhanced greatly the look & feel.

I think the algorithm was perfect maze generation and then you put a tree at each dead end? Though I can't figure out the exact generation algorithm, doesn't look like depth first recursive to me. I'd never thought about using it this way, it's an eye-opener.

For improvement I think there should be some kind of graphic effect after the level is completed. It wasn't easy to finish the Ridiculous level and some kind of effect or animation that give the "Perfection" sense would be, well, perfect. For example light or wave flowing from the fountain reaching each tree giving it bursting bloom.

Some modern leaderboard/daily mix would be fun too. A game named Mazy on mobile does it very well, it add more replayability to the game. No one play the game I mentioned anymore but it was really fun when it last. In that game each time you finish the "daily" challenge you could see real-time replay with visualization of how you compare with top competitors.

arron-fowler 2017-12-15 09:57

What is not to like, it feels like a finished game ready to go.

jordgubben 2017-12-17 17:42

Graphics and sound blend very well together. Great job on that part.

Does the algorithm that generates the puzzles guarantee that all puzzles are solvable. I'm sort of stuck on this one. Skärmavbild 2017-12-17 kl. 18.38.31.png (Maybe I'm just missing something, but I cant see how this could be solved)

seconddimension 2017-12-17 18:22

Hi @jordgubben, we actually ran out of time for a generation algorithm, so all the levels were made by hand and are definitely solvable!

cosmiccrystalgames 2017-12-18 02:23

Incredible atmosphere and really fun puzzle mechanic! Looks can be deceiving though as it is quite challenging also haha! Great job, love it!

schu 2017-12-20 23:27

I absolutely love it! The atmosphere is super relaxing and pleasant. I love the music and the subtle sound effects as well as the brief animations when trees are connected/disconnected from water. Really fantastic work!

gruhh 2017-12-23 12:05

Mechanics simple but interesting, would be a great mobile puzzle.

Mecânica simples mas interessante, seria um ótimo puzzle mobile. :flag_br:

2017-12-26 14:53

Very nice graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_cfsd64xFk
