Amazing Game!
Edit: That Red Faced Earth is enough to scare me XD
The game was pretty good, the sound effects and music was really good in making it all feel more depressing and good job on creating the planets, the last ones looked really disturbing.
Nice little game! I was scrolling the LD page and recognised your art from your youtube video's. The art is stunning and the sounds make you feel for the planet, well done. I didn't find a way to lose the game though, do you just keep going untill the entire planet is filled with the best buildings?
Wonderful art and well polished! There is a slight lag on the last building being clicked on but other than that great LD entry!
I participated in this Ludum Dare because of you, for the first time ever! Nice Game! :D
Great game, there's an element of mystery which makes you wonder what will happen so you end up destroying the planet. Very reflective. The audio is weird but very fitting. The art was amazing.
Ha! Decided to find your game basing on the knowledge of your art style... and here we are! Anyways, a giant piece of whole-some bread. Well done, the art, the sounds and the motive as well. The ending was masterfully delivered. BTW I am waiting for some backstage video :) And thanks for inspiring me to take part in this edition of LD! Eric
What a wonderful game! Your art is even better than usual, and the animations are lovely. I love you interpretation of the theme and the message it’s sending.Very gore and disturbing too in the end. A game I will share with my friends!
I mean, I just came back to rate, and i played it once again...
###### THAT RED FACED EARTH THINGY STILL SCARED ME
This looks awesome! really fun game and make for a nice theme interpretation. I did find the canvas size on itch.io a bit too big though, it makes it hard to fit the game nicely on my screen when playing it.
Overall, amazing work!
*edit: * The screen size button helps, but the smaller size makes the game screen smaller, but sticks to the top-left corner of the canvas, instead of resizing the actual canvas.
Very nice artwork and creepy music. Actually got my heart racing a bit towards the end. I actually love doing circular things, but it's difficult for me to make something really good with them. I usually just do it for experimentation. I look forward to seeing how you implimented it.
Thanks so much for the feedback everyone :) !! @eric-kulbiej I'm so glad you took part in your first LD, hope you had a good time ! And of course I'll be making a behind the scenes video that will be on my Youtube channel some time soon :) !!
great game
Screen Shot 2018-08-13 at 3.55.56 PM.png
Nice work. *Cough *Cough... Give you a thumbs up. Meaningful and enjoyable game play.
I knew it was you from the art style! Great inventive game (also thank you for helping me get into game design!)
That sad looking sun ;D ! Thanks for playing !! @missalpha I'm so happy to hear my channel has helped you out on your game dev journey :) !
Quite a grim twist at the end... It has quite a depth into the harm we humans have done. Enjoyed the game!
Beautiful art style on this!
I Loved The game!!!!! I am a really big fan of your channel!!!! like @missalpha its because of you that i am in this competition! and i am honestly loving every minute of it! Thank you very much!!! I really Hope you win this! you really deserve it! Btw my game was make using your art style tricks!!! Thank you for that! The game have beautiful art style (as expected) Is really smooth and very funny! The music is simply but good enough for the theme! :) Good Job! Keep up the good work! And Thanks!!!! One of the best ones so far!
Hey, Noa! I've been following your youtube channel for a while, but didn't know you are participating! You should definitely make a video about your entry just because it's such a masterpiece! 5/5 p.s. I am 18 as well and plan on going into gamedev. it would be so great if i could get in touch with you and ask some questions.
So much beautiful... But, was the theme "Dying Planet" ? :) Very good game, perfect mood, graphics, sfx and everything was pleasant ! Good Job !
Woah! That is a really nice game! I follow your youtube channel and your videos taught me and it helped a lot with some aspect of my entry (like the Health system!)
I absolutely loved the art and the clever idea. Thanks for making this little gem Noa! And if you want, check my entry too, I really need your feedbacks to improve myself.
I think you used both the "Running out of space" and the "Dying Planet" theme, right? And the end screen is awesome!
sdddddd.png
have a nice day!
Great game, and it got only better as I progressed.. Really nice work! And it looks absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you very much for your kind review noah, your art style is amazing! Keep on grinding big dog and good luck in your future.
Very awesome game. The art is beautiful as always. Looking forward to watching your video about Ludum Dare 42!
awesome
It had really nice graphics, and was very polished. My only issue was that you would have to click that last building multiple times to be able to pick it up.
Hey, i really enjoyed the game. The art was great and it all looked very polished. Loved the audio asswel! Only thing i could say is that you can not really win the game. But overal great job! I love your youtube.
I could tell almost immediately from the music that this game wouldn't be as cheerful as it looked. I was not disappointed. This is a little masterpiece.
Graphics: 5.0 Mood: 5.0
I like it, it's very art heavy and i like that. The message might be a little bit too "in your face" for my liking and the game is a little simple but i still enjoyed seeing the planet decay (evil me) the only problem with this game (in my opinion) is that there is no real challenge for the player, it's mostly just waiting to build another building. (this might be what you meant to do but meh). Still, i enjoyed it.
Absolutely incredible work on the graphics! The art is so adorable, and the planet's facial expressions are on point!
everything about this game is awesome :D I am so jealous of the graphics
Thanks everyone for the great feedback :) ! Each comment is so appreciated and encouraging !!
Really well done, nice and polished! Fits the theme nice! It would be nice if you could be able to cancel things that you have clicked on. Other than that, keep up the good work, both here and on the Youtube!
P.S. It would be nice if you could check the game I made for this Ludum Dare.
Oh man, this is just incredible. Love the game play and the art!
really nice work Noa greetings from a Cuban follower
Nice Game! Love the artstyle!
Wow, the way everything squished and bobbed and jiggled really made this game feel ALIVE, and pushed the already-good art and sound up to an even higher level! Nice work.
It's very simple mechanically. At first this threw me, because I was seeking to understand the different behaviors of the different types of buildings, as if it were a strategy game. This was fine, and in fact kind of pleasant... I enjoyed that the game snuck up on me with an unexpected turn. At first I was like wait, didn't the picture just change? Then the sound changed character a bit. The gradual descent into a dark place was very well done.
After seeing how it was going, I tried to reverse course and brought it back to a happy place, and then changed direction again and plunged it to the max until it all broke.
You really captured a ton of experience out of such a simple idea, well done.
I am so glad I participated in this event. Actually you made me go for it, since I watched most of your YT post Ludum Dare's. First of all thank you for that, it was a great experience participating. As for the feedback on your game, I think you just did an awesome job!
I felt so bad playing this game... - which in this case obscure enough is a great thing. You really managed to deliver the mood with art and sound. As always I just enjoy looking at your art! Since I discovered your YT I fell in love with your own 2D style. In addition the changing sound and all the little details like helicopters appearing, little particle effects on buildings and so on helped pushing the mood further. This is a great entry! Really nicely done, greetings from Germany.
Love the art, animation and the mood of the game! Keep it up!
The game feels is so amazing, the message you try to portray is deep and meaningful. The earth somehow just keeps getting worse even when I think it is rock bottom. I am a big fan of your content and hope if you could try out my entry, even for a minute, even a comment is super appreciated
Hey @noa-calice, I love the style you created your game. The art and music is perfect. I could recognice your voice ingame because of your videos. But the gameplay is very smooth and unique. Well done!
That popping sound effect at the end made me actually jump a bit. Very jarring shift in the sound. The artwork is amazing as always.
Good amount/quality of graphics for a compo game! Polish is impressive too... interface/sound was on point. Appreciate how many of the sounds were made by your mouth.
Can tell you were really hoping for "dying planet" or "evolve" as a theme ;)
Great use of the theme, cool visuals, sweet mechanics. My favourite thing has to be the hover animation for the buildings. Makes you really want to click them.
Nice entry! The arts are gorgeous! (Especially for the lasts phases) (the fixed resolution is a little annoying though :/)
Good job!
Great work. the art and music was on point
Wow! Very powerful visual statement and lovely supporting audio. I found the game itself a little tedious and would have loved some variation of action or interaction with the little people wandering around.
Thanks for posting! Very inspiring.
Crazy good. Your art is distinctive and splendid.
Holy the art is perfect but holy, that's scary haha Overall great game <3
Man, this is really nice, you are always an inspiration. Though I had an issue with the last building... I had to click a few times on it before it was picked up. And I don't like that once you picked up a building you can't put it back down, so to speak. Other than that, the game is very good and I appreciate the work you put into it!
damn this is fun
Thanks so much for being an awesome community :) !! Reading all these comments has been so motivating and inspiring !
The progression looks very cool! I just couldn't stop killing it, for some reason. One of my favorites when it comes to Graphic and Sound design.
The. Art. Is. Amazing! Pretty much all of it is amazing to be honest. I had a lot of fun decorating the planet only to slowly start realizing what I was actually doing to it. The audio started to creep me out as I got further into it and I thought that was a nice touch, reflecting the state of the planet not only with the visuals. This is definitely a winner, great job!
Oh god, what have I done?!
EVOLUTION_WhatHaveIdone.png
Very arty and Interesting game :) Fits the theme also! BTW I feel a very strong Edmund McMillen influence) Cheers!
Cool game ! As usual i like your art style. The musics and sounds are pretty cool, maybe a bit repetitive sometimes but it's ok for a game made in 48 hours ! I liked how the planet evolved through the game, I was not excepting this.
Oh, and i like how you interpreted the theme ! That's a good idea !!!
The graphics are incredible, really love the style. Gameplay wise, it is a nice idle game, very well designed. Only thing I didn't like to be honest was the music, it started to get annoying after a while, while the sound effects were great added a lot to the atmosphere.
This made me uncomfortable, great use of the theme.
It looks like fun through the screen you share but once you play it quickly loses it's interest. The drawings are cartoony and fun, some ui button have some misplaced trigger, and you should consider letting the player put more than 1 building each time he clicks, so that we don't have to move the mouse that much. Great game !
Lovely art and simple gameplay
Great stuff, visually it just looked flawless all the way through. Really cool seeing the planet progress. Altho I wish there was a goal you could achieve both nicely and horribly - other than destruction. Maybe there was and I missed it. But either way great stuff!
The best thing about this game is that it is very VERY polished. The idea is simple (which doesn't mean it's bad though :p), the gameplay is simple, but all the little details, the art, the atmosphere... well done Noa :)
This is a very nicely polished game. The art is spot on and beautiful. The sound effects are good. Your game feel is excellent with all the juice you added. It does feel a bit more like a statement than a game. Perhaps adding a way to counter-act the negative affects on the planet, such as solar panels or whatever would make it a more interesting game. Overall, you did a good job with this one.
That was cool :D I was just hoping for some goal to achieve, like to balance the health of the people against the power and money generated by the industrial buildings. The 'gaminess' is quite weak, but the concept is solid. I had fun just plonking down buildings. Graphics and sounds were a total delight.
Nice little experience ! The graphics are just amazing and sounds nice :) The music is just a bit repetitive i think and it could have been better if it had more gameplay :) Anyway good job and thank you for your tutorials on youtube ! I also tried to do a nice looking game, go try mine if you wish. Cheers !
Incredible game! You took a simple concept and an issue relating to the theme in order to tell an interactive story about the effects of overpopulation! It was like a tycoon game that was also trying to get a point across! Great job, keep it up!
Nice job, Noa! :D
Excellent use of the theme to make a statement. The graphics were lovely and I really enjoyed how the personified planet gradually changed from happy to sick. I also really liked how the music gradually changed from happy to a more dark feel as you placed more planets. I kept going until the planet popped. Poor planet :( Great work!
Wow this is just an awesome game. Really well done!
I love the art! And the meaning behind the game hits hard. Good job!
That was.... horrifying.
I guess the only way to end this game is to let the earth die.....
The game is agonizing, the problem is that it has no real gameplay and after a while becomes an exhibition of interactive graphics.
The atonal music gave me chills and the art is incrible and terryfing. Nice game/social critic. Really great work
Very fun. You have this particular art style that I like. Your youtube channel is very helpful!
Wooooh... The best "game" (it's most like "interactive piece of art" but isn't what a game is after all ?) I played (for this jam of course), it is purely game design genius, everything fits perfectly to create specific emotions and deliver a message.
Wow, just an awesome submission. Games don't usually challenge in quite this way -> makes you think "do you *really* need to get a higher score? The consequences are obvious, why aren't you changing your behavior?" ... great job.
You can make the planet happy again by replacing the big houses with the smallest farm, I strongly recommend doing that and then ketting the game run in the background all happy and content
Not much of a game, but amazing. At first I thought it was weird that the music was off, but as I got into the game i realized how well it fit. Amazing art
Thank you for this game. Just thank you. It is amazing.
The art work is just amazing, and the game has a very strong mood element to it. Its not easy to create mood in a game jam project, very good job! Also, thanks for all your tutorial videos, keep it up!!
Really inspiring, love games that invoke some deeper thoughts within the players. The art was especially fitting.
Well done and thanks for the game!
The art is amazing and the sound effects made with the mouth are a nice touch too. I only felt that, as a game, it doesn't have much of a objective, since the death of the planet is inevitable and the only way to save the planet is by doing nothing, which is boring :p
Art is stunning. Game is politically inclined. I enjoyed killing the earth. :)
Evolution.png I don't know about you but I'm packing my bags and moving here!
I've seen a lot of psychological thrillers and horror movies of all types but nothing has ever disturbed me like this game did. Between the art, the music and the sound effects you have created a masterpiece of shock and awe along with also telling a very powerful message. I, for one, applaud you. This is an amazing entry and the most unique game I've ever played. I don't normally hand out 5/5's but when I do its for games that, hands down, deserve it! Congrats on completing your game!
hi, Great to see your entry. I am a follower of your youtube channel. You met the expectation :). Game is visually stunning. Gameplay is amazing. Only thing I think lacking is variation in gameplay. Good job on the game.
I beat it! Take that, Earth!
But really, great entry. I wish it were more of an involved game, but it had some fantastic mood. Pretty disturbing, and almost made me not wanna keep killing the cute little planet :(
Wow, that was haunting. Very good graphics and audio work, really made you feel for the earth. Would like more but its still very good.
amazing graphics, great work here. it's so sad to see the earth getting destroyed, yet I kept pushing, you managed to fit the theme and send a strong message, nicely done
The mood was great! Nice details and graphics overall. Sound design was a bit distrubing but I guess that's how it should be. ^^ But poorly I didn't have too much fun with it since the gameplay was not entertaining for me. Good Entry.
A good game idea, the music should be improved. The graphics are good. Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)
Very intresting take on the theme and a very unique artstyle (I like it a lot). At the end of the game you go like "what have I done?!"
Very interesting. The music was a bit repetitive, but I loved all the sound effects - especially the electric tower's buzzing - and the music definitely set the mood well. Graphics were amazing, and I loved how everything was interactive. Just by the way - despite the right-most tower saying it costs 7500, it actually costs 10000 - though that's a pretty small thing. Very good entry overall :)
This is amazing love how the earth develop with people and cars! And yeah... right the skull at the end!
Great game! The gameplay is so great that you feel bad building more structures, nice job
A very interesting game! I feel so bad for killing the Earth so easily like this... omg Graphics were so cool
Super stylish game with a message. what more could you ask for?
I loved the message of the game.
Great game !!! A reality described in a really easy and understandable way, graphics are truely excellent :heart_exclamation:, sound effects are really really good ! I'm just not really fond of the first music, would have liked something more joyful, but after the first variation the musics are becoming really meaningfull !!!!
Only thing missing as a game maybe is a goal, because there is actually no objective other than killing this pour planet, and you are sure that you will manage to do it :grimacing:
The sound effects were really good. But all audio was way too quiet. The graphics were also very nice.
I was missing some goal in the game. There is no real incentive for the player to build anything and there does not seem to be a way to "win" the game or even make progress. It's just you build something and then the planet looks a bit worse, but why should you build anything at all?
Best game I've played so far. Incredible work, I've had a ton of fun
Graphics are top notch, message was really deep, but interaction and gameplay - wise, not the best. Great work regardless.
This is my absolute favorite game this LD so far. The 7500 building is hard to buy for some reason, but other than that, the theme, graphics, everything is just great :)
It made me think about the future of the planet. Why did you make me think. Whyyyyyy! 10/10
OMG I loved this game. It was so fun and at the same time disturbing. The graphics looked amazing and the audio was flawless. I really liked the odd music, was very fitting to the games overall feel. The soundeffects were hillarious and spot on. It wasn't a very long game, but the value-to-time ratio was very high. Amazing entry, well done!
The Graphics, sound-xf and 'message' of this game are amazing :)
As for the gameplay: You can build/upgrade buildings to build more buildings, but there is absolutely no pressure to do so ^^ ... but it's very nice to look at
Simple, yet fun. Great representation of the theme that parlays a wonderful message about how we treat our planet. Love your art style - it is truly something unique. I would have loved to see a little strategy and perhaps a win condition - but the game has a point and the way it is designed illustrates that really, really well.
Great job!
The lag's a little bothering, and the music could be improved, but overall, amazing job!
The graphics in this game is really outstanding. The sounds are also very good. The look and feel works very well. The only thing that I feel could use some work it the game play. It feels like there is no real objective. I do understand that one weekend is really short and I honestly must say what you have done is really amazing.
Good job.
Amazing... The message conveyed in this game is really nice... All the features of this game are amazing. Probably the best game of Ludum Dare 42
Nice game! It is really impacting. The only thing that bother me a bit was that i found the initial melodies a bit irritating (very short loops i think?). The art, the use of the theme and the game feel are really good. Good work.
Great game... Just great. I realy like it and it can be best game of LD42! Congratulations!
Great work! Really good theme both with matching the theme of LD and having a message in the game. Graphics were great, gameplay worked really well. Sound was good but that music was a tiny bit repetitive.
I really like it, it's very polished, specially for a compo game made by one person. Deeply disturbing, but we are going down that path anyway. I don't think this game is fun, and I don't think it's supposed to be.
What's the goal of the game? I like art and design, but it didn't feel like a game because you don't have a goal to achieve.
Great entry. I absolutely loved the art style and all the interactions build into each character/building. Really impressive.
I think the aim of the game felt a bit counter intuitive with the art style, you kill the planet to win? having different ways to win could have been nice.
Game play was simple, i think if there was some kind of early game where you could clicking on things that spawn on the map to speed up gaining resources would make the early game more enjoyable (eg plants vs zombies sun drops around on the map you can click on).
Great atmosphere and humor, really fun style and could see this expanded upon. Excellent entry and really impressive.
Really like the art style and level of polish on this game. Interesting take on the theme too. Great work!
That was a really great art piece. Wasn't totally sure what was going on for a while but once I started seeing the "message" I knew I had to finish it. The art is incredible and I loved how the music got more and more disturbing. Real masterpiece.
Interesting game, not really that fun. I prefer more of a challenge but It was fun messing around with it. Your message was very clear. The art style was very cool and the whole game seems very well made and polished. Great game, just like your others :) good work.
Screenshot (82).png
Really nice audio and visuals, nice take on the theme, great polish.
Cool aesthetics although the music gets repetitive real fast. I didn't get the objective of the game but it was quite fun to play, with lot of little feedbacks. Ergonomy could be improved though, as I didn't find how to cancel or change the selection of a building. Nice little entry!
Wow, visuals are just amazing! Very polished game. I can see that selected theme is not your favourite one from the final 16 :) But overall it's impressive entry!
Really scary but pleasant at the same time. I think the final stage is what is going to hapen with our Earth. Maybe it will not take place in our lifetime but our childrens or their childrens maybe. Great job!
This is one of that times that I do not really enjoy the grinding. Don't get me wrong, I mean this in the good way! I really like your game and I would say that it is a pretty nice mirror towards today's world. I would love to see some content for players that decide not to build actually :) Because when I played this for a second time, I didn't want to build a thing. Great job! Love the art, love the sounds.
True story)
Excellent. Great artwork and sound design. Well done.
Really great visuals, nice particle effects - I particularly liked the lightning when it started to strike. Lots of little polish touches visually, really impressive. The gameplay itself was extremely thin, but I don't think that was the point.
Super well formed and polished.
Amazing game! The weak point was the audio, which was more than made up for by extremely solid visuals and polish.
The visuals in this game are great! The music felt a little repetitive after a certain point, but other than that the audio is pretty good. I felt more like the amount of space was limited, and not necessarily like I was running out of room, if that makes sense. So, I feel like the theme could've been implemented in a more effective way. The message in this game was interesting, to say the least. Overall, this game was a very interesting experience and it was really well made!
This is awesome. I just wish it would not explode until the last top tier building was placed.
Oh man! The polish in this game is Crazy. I love all of the Art/Audio infused into everything in this game. Also incredible symbolism. Thank you for making this! Well done!
Man, this is crazy, how can you do a game of this quality in only 48h :astonished: You're out of the competition :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Dang... dark ending. But it was a well-made game.!
Great game. Rare that such a simple game can get under my skin like that.
I'm not sure what the gameplay is about except placing stuff on the map and killing our planet but the art and the overall mood of this game is a piece of art! :D
Art and Mood are outstanding, also the message of this game is meaningful and deep, however i find it for personal taste lacking in fun, because the gameplay has no real actual challenge, but really, good job for all of the technical department in this game, everything outstanding!
The music at the beginning is quite weird, and I don't understand why the score system is "sun". It would have make more sense if it would have been "money", because you getting more "sun" by destroying the plants is paradoxal.
Now that the "bad part" is gone, It is a very good idea with very good graphics the story that is behind is touching and the ammount of details is great.
Thank you for this game, I see your video since (almost) the beginning to improve my developping skills, I would love if you could test my game !
5.png
The graphics, the style are just amazing! Having a soundtrack and sound effects are nice, but the music is kinda weird some time. If the game is more challenging with more feature and mechanic, it would feel more polished. Then again, great job on the game, it's very good for a jam.
graphics obviously incredible, audio could use a little TLC but you're clearly primarily an artist so that's totally fine. would have liked to see a tiny bit more depth/clicker style mechanics but overall theme and mood are very strong
The music is a but odd but it adds that oddness to the game as the planet slowly dies. The entry does a good job of portraying a mood and also a bit of a message.
Nice game! I loved the polished art work. I also liked how a new person/vehicle was spawned with each building. It needs some sort of challenge. Perhaps some sort of resource balance or minimum needs/energy level to keep the people alive. Still a big fan tho. Big Fan.png
Well that was painful, haha. I genuinely felt guilty placing the last few skyscrapers, good job!
This is so, so nicely done. Your aesthetic is so strong and the gameplay is powerful. It's so simple, and so evocative. I honestly don't have any suggestions for improvement
Nice concept, the music add a lot to the traumatic experience x)
nice game I have only one problem that is that the ending is too dark it should have had another better ending and otherwise the game is good nice artwork and music perfectly suiting the game background
Really nice game! I love Your graphics and idea was nice. The only bug I found was using the 7500 building, because I had to click on it rapidly for a few times to finally buy it. But besides that good job!
Very nice, and yet a bit morbid, city building game. Not sure what the end goal should be, except building bigger structures that kill the planet. Works well as a game to keep idle.
Epic game! The concept is hilarious (Though a bit disturbing), the graphics are the best I've seen this jam so far, and the audio is incredible!
I enjoyed playing it. The visuals were gorgeous and the audio matches the mood. That earth face was disgusting at the end :D I just think that the theme is not implemented well in the gameplay.
Great game with a good message behind it! Very nice sounds and art. The only problem I found was that sometimes you have to click a few times to buy the biggest skyscrapper even if you have enough points. Good job!
Interesting experience. I like the aesthetic of the game, kind of McMillen style. Not sur of what i was doing (maybe a little bit like humanity) but it bother me to destroy the earth for no reason, i would loved to understand why i had to pay more for a building than an other. I find the sound hard to listen to long but it could be what you wanted. Still it's a good fit with the theme and a message that i'm sensible to.
The game looks amazing. I just there would have been of a point/strategy to placing buildings. Mechanically it all seemed to work really well and the animation and sound was on point. I did feel a bit depressed and sad for the planet, maybe that is what you were going for. Overall I liked it.
Interesting game. Top notch artwork and sound, but I felt like it was a little lacking in terms of mechanics- placing things, waiting for enough money to buy the next thing and so on wasn't particularly fun or rewarding, but I appreciated the representation of climate change, and towards the end it kinda hurt me to keep going. It's easy to be critical of one of the more popular compo games, of course it's very well done :)
Awesome idea, and great mood!
Good looking game with some good gameplay!
Awesome graphics. Interesting game, but sad to kill the planet. Loved all the details.
Kinda a sad game, but I get the point you were trying to make in terms of polution/overpopulation/etc. Well done. Loved the graphic style and it really set the mood, especially as it got darker into the theme.
Great artwork and message. Might use a little more gameplay elements though e.g. to maximize a score or something. I like how juicy and bouncy everything is with their own sound FX.
A simple but effective narritive game. I loved the Binding of Isaac styled art and the music was a little offputting at first (sounded a bit too detuned and jerky for a cheery tune), but maybe that was the point to suggest from the start that things will end badly. The sound effects were great, especially the cries of pain coming from the planet which gradually became louder and louder. It kept me intrigued to see it through to the end despite the minimal gameplay. I also love the idea of the title as what appears on the surface to be the evolution of your society is actually causing horrible effects to the planet without any of the people realizing. I would only suggest making the planet's death gorier or maybe a bit more disturbing to make it just the more impactful when it finally happens. Other than that, great narrative entry!
A simple and enjoyable mechanic. What I liked the most was the concept of the game, the message you convey with it. It is a good approach to the jam's theme. I didn't like the music and sound effects, but the art is fine (I like your style).
(ノ・∀・)ノ - BTW
We also have an HTML5 entry if you want to play it and rate it.
Great art style (reminds me Binding of Isaac) and immersive atmosphere. Maybe it misses a little more gameplay, but killing a planet is always satisfying... :smirk:
The art style reminds me of Super Meat Boy. I like the sound changing over the progressive.
Funny game to experiment. Seeing the evolution of the state of the planet was my first source of pleasure. Please tell me I'm not the only one...
Beautiful! Best art I've seen this LD! Very polished! Would have loved to see some game mechanics aswell.
5-stars excellence. When I placed a fishing boat and watched a person walk around I felt enchanted! If you continue to develop this, when I didn't see person that spawned pick up a resource or interact with other things, I felt unclear what the consequences of the people and vehicles were.
Really nice game! Super polished with excellent gfx and sfx. I could definitely see me having this to the side whilst doing other things!
Wow , just wow, I saw your making of before, very impressive
Nice art and sound effects! I'm so used to reviewing time-limited and stressful games on here that it felt weird to not really have a score system.(I mean it in a good way, it fits the intent of the game). Oddly relaxing considering the end of the story haha. Great job for a compo game! (et coucou camarade français o/)
Nice game. I thought this game had cool ideas.
The art is beautiful
For better or worse, I got to the end! Really nice artwork as always. :)
Love the graphics and art, and the underlying theme.
@noa-calice A great game with extraordinary visuals and sounds, even great gameplay. The perfect game. I am in love with ur game. U may be surprised to know that i watched ur tutorials for my game entry and it is my first game jam too. Kudos to u and also a big thanks to u, for helping us hone our skills.✌
My game is way nicer. Just kidding Noah is awesome fantastic game love the concept the graphics are average nothing special there seen it all before.thegameplay gets boring but overall nice effort. Your tutorials are better.
There didn't seem to be much to it aside from placing the buildings on the planet and watching it die. It seemed like Plants vs Zombies without the fun.
oh no
Great game, i love your graphics, gameplay is a bit to simple for me, its more like an experiment but its nice.
very nice clicker game and with a serious theme!
In the begining I didn't know what to expect but when I realized where it was going, it was fun to just to see the evolution of this little game and the ending. The game length is perfect not too long to get bored and enough to just be a little relaxing experience.
Also I really liked how everything (the subtle animations, audio adjustments etc) serves the game and you message.
overall excellent entry. Congrats!
One of tge best games and thank you for tutorials ;)
Very nice. How to use a theme to make a serious game with consciousness. Great game.
Woah. That was intense I wasnt expecting to feel as bad as i did.
Amazing game! It makes me wish there was a challenge, but the progression to a dead planet really enhances the mood.
The graphics are very well done, however the game play is lacking in my opinion. There isn't any strategy and realistically, not very many choices to make that have any impact on the game. It would have been nice to have to use some strategy or skill at some point. Also, I think it would have been good to allow the player to drag and drop some of the buildings.
I won! Or lost.. There isn't much that I can say that hasn't already been said, and the art amazes me as always. Well done :)
Really amazing, the mood is so strong!
this is how you save the world!
Oh jeez, that kinda creeped me out, but in a good way. Very nice!
This is just a fantastic game, and after watching your YouTube video on how you made this, I'm extremely impressed. The graphics are gorgeous, detailing the planet's slow demise and the sound perfectly echoes the decay Controls are brilliantly simple -- how much simpler can you get than point-&-click?
Easily the best game I've played this Ludum Dare -- very well done!
It made me dizzy...
Cool game though.
Very good entry ! You even integrate another theme "Diying planet" ahah
Becomes hard with time, or maybe i'm bad :)
Really nice Compo !! Great job :) Do you plan to continue this game ?
Btw, maybe you could checkout our game and leave us feedbacks to improve it :)
An excellent way to raise awareness of respect for nature! I loved the cartoon graphic style and very well staged, the immersion by all the visual details, animations and special effects. I really think that this game would be even better if there were more game mechanics like the possibility to "manage" more our pollution rate and allow the planet to repair itself by other means! Great job! :)
By the way please feel free to leave us some feedbacks on our game!
I'm not sure I can in good conscience give this game a high rating in "fun", haha. But anyhow, a clicker/progression game with a twist, it worked well.
Honestly, wow, this is amazing. I love how the planet get sadder and sadder the more buildings you build. The art is awesome, the sound effects were great. My only complain would be the music that plays at first can get a little annoying. But otherwise, this was an awesome entry. Thanks so much for making it!
Went all the way there and back  Hope that's what we will be able to do with our Earth.

One of my favorite games of this jam!! Nice art, good mechanics and well adapted to the theme! I really enjoyed <3
As desired, I turned the planet into a burning hellscape! Excellent graphics, which reminded me of Binding of Isaac. I liked the idea, though I kinda wish there was more of a challenge or puzzle to it. It was pretty easy to see where it was going as soon as the planet started to look a little sick. :)
One weird thing for me was that although I was able to select a resolution a the start, no matter how big I made my browser, the canvas didn't actually fit in its containers, and I had scrollbars that would only let me see 95% of the game or so.
I am not sure this is a game, but it is an amazing simulation and thought provoking. Your artwork is great and I love your youtube channel it has been really helpful in creating my first entry for a Ludum Dare. It seemed I could not deselect an object, once selected I had to place it, just a minor gameplay thing.
Fantastic graphics! Does this game have a goal? Am I supposed to kill a planet or keep it green? Both objectives are so easy to achieve, so, not sure if it's really a game, to me it looked more like an educational experience. Did I miss something? Anyway, it's a very solid entry.
We'd be happy, if you also play and rate our game :)
cool such a good game
Love the atmosphere, freaky but awesome! Really good jam!:)
I feel like I missed the point. I didn't like seeing the face go sad so I switched to just windmills and minimal modern buildings and just raked up tones of money.

What is the goal of the game?
I thought when I built the highest building that I'd get an achievement or game end screen.
From the other screenshots here, it looks like the goal is to destroy the planet, is that accurate?
I declare myself the winner, I'm rich and the planet is happy: Evolution I'm rich.png
I found this to be an excellently constructed game. It's sleek and smooth, with an important - albeit subtle - underlying message. I also really like the art style.
Absolutely stunning visuals, and generally an amazing game. Only thing I'd have liked to see is a tooltip explaining what the different buildings do. Also, there isn't really any... gameplay. Well, there is, but I feel like there isn't really any strategy involved. What if you had a certain number of people on the planet, but the population increases of time and you have to fill the planet with buildings and energy resources to accomodate for the new citizens. Coal and other polluting energy resources give a lot of energy for its cost, but if you use too many of them you destroy the planet. Etc etc. That would be more of an actual game in my opinion.
Anyway, I'm obviously just nitpicking and throwing ideas out there. The game is beautiful and probably the best I've played this Ludum Dare. Good job! :)
Really polished visuals and audio, looked really cool. I'm just not sure it is a game.
This is awesome! Our planet is shared between all of us!
Hey there, i really like your game - or should i say "distopia simulator" ;) Well crafted, just a minor glitch - but already covered in the comments i guess. The sounds and the face of the earth really touches me. Well done!
Nice visuals! Gameplay was a bit shallow, but gets to the point of the message. Wish the menu button wasn't placed with the buildings, accidentally clicked it once and had to start over :(
Great art, and I loved the message! The music was creepy, and I felt it fit the mood perfectly.
Amazing! You succeeded in making me actually hurt from seeing this :) Stunning Audio, graphics, and mood. Congratulations
nice , you give me some idea .thx :]
Good idea
Awesome, and scary, work!!!!!
I really like this beautiful game.
Amazingly simple and clear. If you’re interested in voice actors or a VO director for any of your future games, please keep me in mind. eamonkellykane@gmail.com you can listen to my demo reel here https://soundcloud.com/eamonkellykane/eamonkanevideogame/s-RuHI6
The Moment the planet closed his mouth I panicked
Really nice game tho.
