for a jam I found this a surprisingly mature and multi faceted take on suicide and youth. Loved the art style as well. The only thing is I feel this really would have had the same effect if it had just been a comic, the fact that it was a game didn't play a factor in the experience. would love to see an interactive branching story game from you with this same superb style though!

voice acting was fun as others have commented art style is nice - digging the white outlines on characters I wanted some expansion on the main mechanic - I think it would have been more succesful if the focus was on the content of the game and not drawing the environment which you have clearly put a lot of effort into - maybe in the future start by greyboxing until you have a solid set of mechanics and then skin everything after

@jeremy-ryan thanks for your feedback!, glad you enjoyed it. some of the hitboxes are super thick because the player would go through platforms sometimes (Im going to try and figure out a better way to deal with that but didn't have time during this jam) good to know that people have run into that in game though. also haha that's ironic, I am primarily a musician and sound designer.

@virtual-turtle-studio thanks for playing and feedbacking! yeah actually that was one of the more annoyi.ng issues - unity's collision was being annoying with going through walls but the only way I could seem to fix it was by making walls super thick, which in turn would lead to messy colliders like someone mentioned earlier. out of curiosity do you know which level you got stuck on? always looking to see where puzzle mechanics can be imporoved

@monkeydom hm just tried it, got a bug once then relaunched and it worked? try doing highest resolution on ultra (shouldnt be very system intensive) I think it might be a resolution thing. @ctrble @batmanasb yeah unfortunately hitboxes were weird - either had to make them super thick so you couldn't fly through em or thinner so you wouldn't run in to invisible walls - thought I struck a decent balance while testing but I think the built version fared worse. I think there's a solution to be found within the unity physics settings/scripting but I spent a while searching during the jam and then had to move on to other stuff. Thanks for playing!

@cr0w Thanks! I actually got stuck on a train for the first hour or so of the jam so I just looked up the theme and wrote/sketched in my notebook. Most of the main stuff came from that brainstorming. In a way it was super useful to have some forced time away from a computer before starting, might even make myself do this before future jams

wow! this is like a case study in elegant game design - one button controls but the more you play the more you see how all the small systems interact with each other to create an engaging game. Good amount of polish on that bad boy too. Excellent job overall, would definitely pay a buck to have this on my phone

really like the vibe here - the art is great and the concept is hilarious and cute - the only thing is it really needs a bit of tweaking in terms of movement speed and jump - the second level is really really hard and I had to start over a bunch of times in general - for this type of game might be better to make it easy so that you can see the whole game on your first or second try. but for 10 hours I'm very impressed

overall the dialogue was funny and the art style was great - one big issue here though is that your game mechanics and the 'meta' outside goals of the player are conflicting. In the game you're trying to click as fast as possible through the dialogue (at least I think that's what you're meant to do) so if the player plays the game well then they won't actually get to read any of it which is probably what they want to do - the game punishes the player for reading dialogue. Just a little thing to keep in mind, otherwise a charming little idea

the tower game reminded me of CS class. Overall seems like a very complete game for compo. Biggest thing was that I couldn't figure out how to install modules! But with some added simple sound could be a great post jam web game

awesome awesome awesome main mechanic. would absolutely love a fleshed out post jam version. Really reminds me of old school browser games that feel like they're made with love. The one big issue I had was that enemies started coming way too fast in the later section (200 energy). Wave break would be great and just a slower buildup overall because at some point I just got stressed out and couldn't balance anything/direct my focus because I was being hit by so many enemies at once

Overall I was super duper relaxed this jam and not going into the night at all so maybe I'll do a post jam version with some added content. Also would be better to have a pre made tutorial room to start in rather than have stuff be place differently every time. Still struggling to understand the mechanics. Would be worth making a post jam version though because it seems very thought out and has potential to be a full game I think
