That was very fun! I love the voice acting! The mixtape sounding music! All amde for a very good atomosphere.

henry-sneed 2018-08-12 23:50

Might be a bug on the HTML5 version. When I try to play the game constantly blinks after i press 'next' . Got it working on the windows version! Pretty fun and love the graphics!

jackou 2018-08-13 00:08

Love the voice acting! nice!

gagouman 2018-08-13 00:20

Fun game, good global experience and love the voice acting!

panda 2018-08-13 01:02

web version didn't work for me, it just displays ("index out of bounds")

jcmonkey 2018-08-13 01:03

@panda use firefox

panda 2018-08-13 01:08

@jcmonkey I am using Firefox, on a Mac.

jcmonkey 2018-08-13 01:11

@panda ah yeah for some reason some mac installations dont install webgl at all, have you tried my mac download, and have you tried playing other webgl games in that same browser?

rargrave 2018-08-13 01:30

"Might be a bug on the HTML5 version. When I try to play the game constantly blinks after i press ‘next’"

I also have this issue with Chrome, and don't have FF installed right now.

jcmonkey 2018-08-13 01:32

@rangrave yeah it wont run in chrome at all, firefox is a must for the webgl, otherwise you can download one of the others that work

laytanl 2018-08-13 01:34

Very cool game, the voice acting made me laugh haha, gave you 5 star audio for that one haha. Great job!

jonahsenzel 2018-08-13 01:36

voice acting was fun as others have commented art style is nice - digging the white outlines on characters I wanted some expansion on the main mechanic - I think it would have been more succesful if the focus was on the content of the game and not drawing the environment which you have clearly put a lot of effort into - maybe in the future start by greyboxing until you have a solid set of mechanics and then skin everything after

jcmonkey 2018-08-13 01:41

@jonahsenzel yeah i did all the gameplay friday, then saturday was all the art and sound, and sunday was bug fixes and getting things polished. i chose to keep that one mechanic and roll with it. maybe in a future ludum dare ill challenge myself to put more juice into the mechanics. thanks for advice

panda 2018-08-13 01:52

@jcmonkey the samples at http://webglsamples.org work fine, so I have no idea what the problem is, sorry.

anstabo 2018-08-13 02:07

the voice acting (like everyone is pointing out) is a nice addition, it gets you right into the mood of the game. I can see you tried your best at almost every aspect of a game development and it shows !

programmingdimension 2018-08-13 03:03

Good touch on the art, the voice acting was a very cool idea. The game idea is simple, but what surrounds it made it an awesome entry for the compo!

shinysteel 2018-08-13 03:09

Boi this is pretty good! Voice acting + music stood out the most for me, super well done.

ghostgoatsgames 2018-08-13 03:12

I love the voice acting. Really made the game funny. Good art too. I think it might be a little more fun if the guy could walk a little faster? Great job!

tero-pulkkinen 2018-08-13 03:13

I couldnt get the game to work. It gave a screen with flickering, where it switched between two separate screens and you couldn't do anything with the cursor keys or space. So something is wrong with the engine or the game. (the intro screen worked fine)

jcmonkey 2018-08-13 03:20

@tero-pulkkinen the webgl versions need firefox, for some reason godot web export doesnt run on chrome, the download versions work if you want to try that.

4thwallstudios 2018-08-13 03:20

Tried playing in different browsers but all I got was strobe lights. I liked the idea though, hope I get to play it!

jcmonkey 2018-08-13 03:22

@4thwallstudios the game should work in firefox, try disabling hardware acceleration

madar-games 2018-08-13 04:13

"Get off the road you animal" That was so unexpected that I actually snorted. Are the people walking on the street just mugging me if I walk into them? Why are the packages being dropped off across the street seems inefficient lol. I really like the sound design of the game and the interactions it adds between the player and the environment. I do wish it was a bit faster paced. I also like the art style you went for! I'm not sure if the white outlines were intentional but I think they add a bit of flavor and make it feel like the world is made of paper.

pohko 2018-08-13 12:34

Dude, this is great! There are enough things going on to make this pretty challenging but still simple enough to be a lot of fun. The audio is fantastic, so so good. Love the art too, great job!

eric-kulbiej 2018-08-13 13:11

Nice game, enjoyed it very much. Keep it up!

neuralcoder 2018-08-13 20:33

For me it run in chrome, but the text doesn't disappear, it flicker between text screen and game.

2018-08-13 20:41

Cute game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/VOykmSuQEhg

jcmonkey 2018-08-13 23:28

@neuralcoder yes thats what happens to everyone that runs it in chrome and why i mentioned its best to run in firefox. you can also download and play.

@jupiter-hadley cool thanks for checking it out, ill give it a look :D

jdhollen 2018-08-13 23:52

Worked in FF for me after flailing in Chrome, guess I learned something about Godot's WebGL implementation this jam :P

I think if I'd change anything, I might make the gap between the pickup and drop points a little smaller, but that's more about my preference for frantic stuff.

This is a pretty cool game overall, though! Awesome work.

nick-girardo 2018-08-14 02:13

Cute sprites, one thing that bothered me was not being able to tell where the invisible walls at the left and right ends of the highway

manbeardgames 2018-08-14 03:09

Had fun with this one and loved seeing it progress from the initial design to the final when you were coming into the stream. End result polish was is nice, and the addition of the Tracker9000 fits well. Love the cars yelling at me and the initial voice at the beginning.

deathray 2018-08-14 03:27

Seems broken in Chrome? :sob:

jcmonkey 2018-08-14 03:30

@deathray yeah have to use firefox, or play the download

velvetlobster 2018-08-14 03:52

Looks like every object is made out of paper, I like that!

squid 2018-08-14 05:58

This is a super stylish game. I love all the detail you were able to put in.

andy-d 2018-08-14 09:43

Excellent game! Graphics are fun, sound effects are awesome. I thought I was doing ok, but then I ran out of space, so maybe you could make it more obvious that space is about to run out by flashing/enlarging the capacity meter or something - to give the player a sense of urgency. But that's just polish. Loved it

nickthesic 2018-08-14 16:07

Really great game! I thought the music was a bit weird but the voice acting was wonderful! The graphics are well done and it felt great to play. I didn't find myself running out of space though as I would always get hit my 3rd time while the number was in the 20's

sharky3188 2018-08-16 00:40

Funny voice acting, controls are easy enough. Nice graphics as well. Didnt often feel like i was running out of space. Good effort.

nam-nguyen 2018-08-16 04:31

The game although has wonderful art work and animations, isnt really my kind of game, but I appreciate the voice acting a lot! A great entry, good job!!

kmce 2018-08-17 03:55

Haha the voice acting in this is great. Overall had fun, was fun and simple while still being challenging.

djack-d-donovan 2018-08-18 11:24

Pretty fun! I feel like the game is a bit too slow paced though, one game can really drag out for a long time. Also, dropping packages on the floor as little to no penalty, so you can continue the game indefinitively.
