LD42 — Running out of space

Delivery Boi by JCMonkey 2018-08-14T16:07:26Z

Really great game! I thought the music was a bit weird but the voice acting was wonderful! The graphics are well done and it felt great to play. I didn't find myself running out of space though as I would always get hit my 3rd time while the number was in the 20's

Kingdoms Fall by LandoSystems 2018-08-15T03:14:51Z

Very fun game! I enjoy turn based strategy games like this and this one is great. It looks like a big team worked on the game and it is impressive what a team like this can do with that amount of time. It is a great entry!

Brightly-Wrapped Boxes by incobalt 2018-08-15T00:13:48Z

I enjoyed stacking the boxes. I wish I was able to see a bit more on screen though, just so I could see which presents need to be placed. Opening the presents at the end was a really nice touch, good work!

Grid Locked by DrunkardWolf 2018-08-14T16:16:53Z

I liked that the platforms were health and the style of the game was very nice! Good game!

CENTIFEED 2042 by jchaplin 2018-08-13T19:46:45Z

The movement was a bit weird to try and get those mushrooms right beside the character but it was a fun game. The different movement and art were what made this game feel different than the centipede type game I used to play. Overall all it is a nice game with art that is nice and colourful. Edit: I played it some more and the mushrooms going bad after a while is a cool idea, it gives you something that you now have to avoid. I didn't run into any bad mushrooms on my first couple runs

SGStduio - Holly Sheep by SumGamStudio 2018-08-14T23:56:28Z

It is a fun game, I enjoyed running around with the speed upgrade and running into the sheep to keep them away

VCR STAR by erebus 2018-08-14T16:34:13Z

Really fun and great idea! I had a bit of trouble finding which scenes to record so I used a lot of the cheats, I also had trouble turning on the TV lol. Very fun and funny great work!

@esmouc Thanks for the idea! It is a really great one idea too! I did want to add something like that to the game but I didn't want to overwork myself in this short time. Thanks for playing and rating!

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-13T17:13:35Z

@louckousse You need to press space to get the art to erase, that might be something I add to the how to section in a future update. I am glad you had fun! Thanks for playing!

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-13T17:16:36Z

@hi-irie Thanks for playing! If you got to the bad ending you can read the full story and when you win the unerasable text kinda adds to the stickman's story. I did want to add a bit more to the gameplay but I am happy with what I got done in the time of the jam. I am glad you loved it!

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-13T18:54:51Z

@jdhollen Thanks for the feedback! If I get around to making more content and polishing up I will definitely add enemies and other types of hazards.

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-14T15:39:04Z

@erebus Thanks for playing it on stream! It was great to be able to watch someone play it

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-14T15:44:07Z

@gareththedestro Thanks for playing! I might take this idea further in a Weekly Game Jam entry in the future!

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-14T15:45:19Z

@dr-monkfish Thanks! I am not much of an artist so going for real images was my first thought for good art

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-16T21:22:19Z

@awix Thanks for your feedback, I tried to make a short looping clip that added a bit to the spooky mood of the game. I will hopefully be updating some stuff post Ludum Dare.

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-16T21:24:19Z

@chaitae Thank you for the feedback, I did do some basic editing of the real photos before I had added the text and drawings. I didn't think of going back and fixing some stuff up because of the time. Thanks! It will be something that I will update post jam.

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-16T21:27:31Z

@Goda Thanks for playing! I wanted to make this version of the game a bit shorter so it would be easier to play and beat. I do think I will use this idea and make a bigger game with it, with more variety to the stories and art. I never really thought of adding erasable upgrades, that is a really cool idea! I will add that to a post Ludum Dare version of the game, thanks!

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-17T15:54:43Z

@nerdyherbivore Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I know that there needs to be more for the erasing mechanic and that is something that I will add in a post LD update.

Crash·Data by Jkabuto 2018-08-13T16:47:08Z

I had a lot of fun, I loved the graphics and music. It felt a bit slow at first but then all the files started piling up and it got chaotic. I got stuck under some files at the end and slowly watched as the screen got fuzzy while I waited for the Delete window to appear around me. Great work on the game!

ShortServe by G4MR 2018-08-14T17:03:15Z

Good game, but I would recommend a smaller starting point and less food at first to give the player some time to understand how the game works. Then slowly add more plates and food as they get a higher score with the ability to start at a higher level too. I had fun with the game!

Moxie by Pohko 2018-08-14T16:47:51Z

Good game, I loved the art and I liked that the different difficulties had different backgrounds. You had to get far in the run to really see that the smoke was creeping in to show that you were running out of space. The simple controls were nice and I think it would make a good game on mobile.

Hoarder by Dr_Monkfish 2018-08-13T17:31:10Z

This was a lot of fun! I like that the music slowly added more sounds the farther I got in the level. I liked that the items came down from the side and you could kinda throw them in when you wanted. The health bar was nice, it gave me time to knock down the pile that had built up on the one side. Great game!

2058, A parking Lot in Space by pedroaz 2018-08-15T03:52:36Z

Really good game! I had a lot of fun but I did find it a bit hard. You really got the theme down in level 2 where you run out of space if you use the big ships. The art is nice and I feel it fits the game. I would suggest that you add a bit more space to park and make the black holes a bit easier to avoid.

Build Out In Space by nikasxirtla 2018-08-13T16:53:23Z

Good work on the game, reminded me of some of those mobile knife thrower games. I liked that the world would change speed and direction after every new block. I got 111 as a high score!

DEFRAG by jdhollen 2018-08-14T16:54:04Z

Good game, I was taking my time and I didn't notice that I ran out of space. Really cool way to move the blocks around too, it would be cool to see how shapes that take up more than one line would move and if you took this mechanic to a new level different shapes would be something to try. Overall it is a good game and I had some fun!

Save Me A Seat by chaitae 2018-08-16T22:10:02Z

This was a really fun and short game, I loved it! It is a really great idea and a cool interpretation of the theme. Great job!

Space Run by mitsu.artemius 2018-08-13T19:36:32Z

Really great game! I loved the art and feel. I liked that the hearts gave you more to see and taking damage made the area you can see smaller It was a really cool way to do damage and it worked well.

Street Sucker by KostblLb 2018-08-13T17:04:49Z

Hey @kostbllb I think you used love2D to make this game right? You may need to put the file inside of the love application for most people to be able to run this properly or add Love2d to what the players may need to download for this to run properly. Note to anyone reading, download Love2D to play this game.

Street Sucker by KostblLb 2018-08-13T17:10:57Z

I wasn't too sure what to do in your game. I moved the characters around the screen and green and yellow squares would appear. The yellow squares hurt you and the more one character moved the more yellow appeared on the other side. It seemed like it could be a very interesting game with a bit more work on it after Ludum Dare is done.

Street Sucker by KostblLb 2018-08-14T01:47:14Z

@kostbllb No problem! Glad I could help. Nice improvements to your game!
