LD42 — Running out of space

Ghost Cleaner by akai_0okami 2018-08-14T12:02:07Z

I really enjoyed this a lot! The concept makes me happy and I love the art.

Delivery Boi by JCMonkey 2018-08-13T12:34:53Z

Dude, this is great! There are enough things going on to make this pretty challenging but still simple enough to be a lot of fun. The audio is fantastic, so so good. Love the art too, great job!

Box Co.® - Monster Storage by Tyler Funk 2018-08-14T03:08:21Z

Very cool, fun little game :)

Closing in on Pascal by gamepopper 2018-08-13T13:08:01Z

Really great game, enjoyed it a lot! The wall jump took a second to get down, but otherwise great job :)

As the world burns by super8bitrafa 2018-08-13T12:59:09Z

Fast and intense, I love this. Using the fire to your advantage makes it a pretty interesting dynamic. Great job!

Scale Escape by Evan Polekoff 2018-08-14T03:50:12Z

This was such a cool entry, I really enjoyed it. It was quite a surprise when I started and had just enough information to not be confusing but allow me to explore the gameplay. Great job!

Drilling for Treasure: Free to Play Edition by MaybeLaterx 2018-08-18T16:13:48Z

Really solid entry, I enjoyed playing a lot! The popups were hilarious, and as far as the theme goes, was something I have not yet seen in other games. The art is fantastic all around and I enjoyed the diversity of environment, enemies, etc. The only thing I wish it had was more audio on interactions (shooting, enemy death, etc). With that, I will say that the layered audio between the music and popups gave me a strong feeling of not just running out of screen space, but an overall hectic feeling around the entire game which was a nice touch. The team did a lot of work, great job!

Velocity Square by snarf2000 2018-08-14T12:50:13Z

This is a really fun game, and it gets really challenging! The controls feel great, and I think the minimal graphics work here really well. Great job and congrats!

WeAreTheAntidote by Mowztouch 2018-08-14T03:44:16Z

Really interesting game, very innovative. It got a little laggy as so many humans spawned, but really cool concept

Blast Off by Nattress 2018-08-14T13:08:24Z

Very cool game :) The shrinking starts pretty subtle but becomes an emergency, I really enjoyed it!

Balls Deep In Lava by BlueMirror 2018-08-14T12:42:02Z

This is really cool! The audio is great, I loved it, and the play on the theme is pretty clever. Great work!

Beach Time by Stephano 2018-08-13T13:11:37Z

So much fun, I love the art! The gameplay is a lot of fun :)

Spiritship by velvetlobster 2018-08-14T03:54:07Z

The vibe is great, the audio and art are awesome. I would love to see more, I followed on itch to see what comes next :)

Warehouse Simulator by Haloreach252 2018-08-14T03:30:40Z

I won! It took a few times as I didn't feel like I had enough instruction, but I figured it out and the support team got me :) Great job

Space Warehouse by meatpudding 2018-08-14T12:55:52Z

It took me a second to get a grasp at the beginning, but once I did this became a really interesting game of keeping up with my warehouse. I kind of got lost in it and kept playing which is always good :) Great job!

Notebook Boy in The Ghostbook by NickTheSic 2018-08-14T12:46:31Z

This is really cool and super innovative, I'd love to see more of this one! It's one of the more surprising entries that I've played. I love the mixed art style, really great submission!

Dystopia Tycoon by Hare Software 2018-08-15T00:18:13Z

I'm really impressed with how much you were able to do, congrats on your entry! The tutorial was so extensive, the game is clever and different, I love the art. All around really great job!

Altair's Quest by CarlosBueloni 2018-08-15T00:08:00Z

I really enjoyed this, it's pretty challenging but addictive! Great job!

Moxie by Pohko 2018-08-13T12:37:08Z

Moxie by Pohko 2018-08-14T13:04:02Z

Thanks for playing @masterclavat !

Moxie by Pohko 2018-08-14T15:51:48Z

@mowztouch Thanks for playing! I should have made it more obvious but the longer you go the narrower the screen gets, and the collectables push the margins back. Thanks again though!

Moxie by Pohko 2018-08-14T23:56:27Z

@nickthesic Thanks so much for playing! Yeah, I think the running out of space may be too slow in hind-sight. I think my plan is to spruce it up and do a mobile release though. Thanks again for the feedback!

Moxie by Pohko 2018-08-14T23:57:50Z

@bluemirror Good catch, I updated the description. I was pretty tired when I wrote it :) Great to hear about the jumping/landing. I thought it felt good but you never know until others play it. Thanks for the feedback!

Moxie by Pohko 2018-08-17T12:21:41Z

@florapixels @jaydek @nam-nguyen @akai-0okami @raccoon-js @eric-smith @jamison Thanks so much for playing, and thanks for the feedback! I did notice the 'box bug' too well after submitting while watching someone else play so I'll have to tweak that for sure. I was not aware of the framerate issue so that's really good to know and appreciate you calling that out. I'm so glad the controls were well taken as well. I spent quite a bit of time tweaking and making sure the character self-corrects so she doesn't get pushed off the screen by friction. Thanks again all!

Corrupt Space by jmswrnr 2018-08-14T12:36:59Z

Dude, I loved this so much! It is challenging and fits the theme so well, imo, because at the end it started getting claustrophobic. Really moody, I love the stuff that shows up out of the dark from no where. Going through doors is always surprising as well. Fantastic work, keep it up man!

Continuum by Hakro 2018-08-13T13:18:57Z

Very cute :) I wish there were more than arrows to make it a bit more challenging, the text is funny though, great job!

Space Run by mitsu.artemius 2018-08-13T12:49:18Z

This is awesome, I will continue to play for sure. I love that it continues to change as you progress through the XP and planet levels. The zooming in and out really adds so much to the gameplay. Really great job, and I love the art so much!

Never Gonna Give Doggo Up by Rafiki 2018-08-14T03:36:04Z

Haha, I love this. The graphics are great, the concept is so much fun. If only I'd stop chasing the stupid squirrel!

Feed cats by Noini 2018-08-14T03:40:07Z

Very cool, took a second to get used to but I enjoyed tending to the cats :)

Puzzle #42 Running out of space by calixjumio 2018-08-15T00:02:58Z

Very cool take on a sliding puzzle game. I really like the graphics. I found it pretty challenging but overall a lot of fun!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

The Great Sinker by LordMiji 2021-04-26T13:27:56Z

This was super cool, I love the art and the concept. I wish the cracks would spawn quicker to get me a bit more frantic, but overall this was really cool. I also love that the hull integrity meter doesn't follow the player, it made it so I had to keep checking back.

The Limbo Runner by jk5000 2021-04-26T18:59:47Z

I can go so low and didn't even know!! I really had fun with this one, really fun and different. Congrats

Well, that sounds fun! by Jani Nykanen 2021-04-26T19:06:45Z

Your animations and designs are fantastic. I couldn't stop flapping my arms just to watch those animations. Great job

Free Fall Tower by BerserkerChris 2021-04-26T13:51:04Z

This was a fun little game. The controls are a bit sensitive but once I got the hang of them I was splatting all sorts of slimes

Descentris by PhilStrahl 2021-04-27T01:52:18Z

I really like the visuals, they're minimal but they fit with the mood you create here and your music is friggin' ridiculously good. The game itself doesn't feel bare-bones to me. I like the concept of a reverse tetris, and the blocks, bombs, and treasure make it that much more rich. For a 48hr prototype I really enjoyed it.

Dream of the Glowing Umbrella by ristoretto 2021-04-26T20:35:00Z

Fun little game. I really enjoyed the art and the fact that the levels are randomly built made playing multiple times really great. I also felt like the level generation when really well with the idea of this being a dream. Great sound, made it really comfortable. Great job :umbrella2:

Search and Resque by Hilvon 2021-04-26T18:56:05Z

Very cool, I really enjoyed the digging mechanic and the world you created to explore and find the miners. Awesome submission.

Pagemage by OrbitalBlueprint 2021-04-26T14:05:50Z

This is crazy creative. Really awesome take on the theme, lots of fun.

Earigator by alec 2021-04-27T01:23:03Z

I'm kind of obsessed with this one, it's so different and funky. I love the concept and the minigames keeps the whole thing paced really well. The music and sfx all fit really well, the whole experience is just fun. Keep making lots of games, just keep going!

Masseuse you Loose by ColeSlaughter 2021-04-28T02:17:51Z

Omg, this cracked me up, such a fun game. There's so much personality. The controls are really unique and fun, makes it really interesting to speed massage all these bodies. Solid entry, love it :open_hands:

Deepsea Alchemy by Hugimugi7 2021-04-27T22:58:13Z

This is a really cool little game, I love exploring not only the environment but also what kinds of materials there are. I'll probably keep playing on this one to keep seeing what I can find. One piece of feedback I'll give is that the beginning tutorial feels really long. I didn't fully understand the buoyancy controls until I started playing and discovering it was really cool, really unique control decision for a submarine game. Great job!

X Feet Under by morphine 2021-04-26T14:56:26Z

Very cool, lots of systems happening, I'm impressed with how much you packed in. Awesome work.

Corresponding by p0l4r 2021-04-26T20:25:20Z

Really cool! I really enjoyed the back and forth creating the story. Kind of like a game of "yes, and". Great job!

The Circles of Purrgatory by sevkron 2021-04-26T13:07:24Z

Lol, this is great and made me laugh. Having the paper work pile up was a really great spin on the theme. The sound is ammmaazzing, I loved it so much. Great stuff :smiley_cat:

The Falling Knight V.S the Endless Pit of Dark Despair by ilPrinny 2021-04-27T01:08:16Z

I love the art style and the mechanics. This one is really unique from the submissions I've played. Congrats, this is awesome

plunge. by niterich 2021-04-26T14:14:51Z

Very cool use of the theme. Targeting objects was a bit difficult at first but I got used to that. Really cool spin on exploration.

Ocean Cleanup by Weirdybeardyman 2021-04-27T01:16:44Z

I figure the submarine controller probably isn't the most straightforward thing to make, but man is it satisfying to play with. If the ocean was expanded and made more interactive I could see just wanting to sub around the ocean and keep exploring its depths. The atmosphere was really chill, and cleaning up the ocean is always a good thing. Really great job, I really liked it a lot :ocean:

Ski Trip by Rhoka 2021-04-28T01:52:47Z

Wooooow, this was super cool. Really fun take on the theme, and the environment and post processing is so freakin fun. It's super chill, I'll probably keep taking a trip from time to time. Congrats! :mushroom:

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T02:27:07Z

@marc-cacho thanks so much, I really appreciate it

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T03:32:45Z

@dmitry-mozgin thanks! Yeah, I ended up really abstract on the theme, I started down a road that kept swerving. Thanks for playing

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T13:20:07Z

@lordmiji Thanks! I almost made it so you could move the camera, I just ran into issues and kept it simple. Thanks for playing!

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T13:21:08Z

@william-corrin Thank you. Yeah, I had a hard time with the theme and kept changing the plan as I went. But I learned a lot and that's what I came for. I really appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoyed it

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T14:02:39Z

@neonjeff Yep, the level is randomly generated. I caught the 'e' bug right after submitting but didnt catch the other one. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T15:23:44Z

@morphine Thanks for playing :heart_eyes:

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T19:08:48Z

@harrison-dunn Great feedback, I appreciate it. I did really struggle with the gameplay on this one but glad you found it worthwhile. Thanks for playing!

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T19:09:39Z

@corbeng I love that idea, having each section change into what parts of the story you're getting as the player. Thanks so much for playing

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T19:11:18Z

@orbitalblueprint Thank you! Sorry about the depth of field making you dizzy. I did want to get more items and interactions in just had to cut scope. Hopefully I can keep going and expanding.

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T20:55:58Z

@p0l4r Thanks! :smile:

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T20:57:00Z

@ristoretto Thanks, I'm glad you thought so. I appreciate you playing!

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-26T20:59:11Z

@hilvon Oh no, I'm super sorry to hear that! I know of a couple bugs but hadn't heard of it not being able to be opened. If you do end up trying and it doesn't work on your other machine please let me know, I'll look into it in the meantime.

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-27T01:24:05Z

@rhoff95 Thank you, means a lot

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-27T01:24:52Z

@ilprinny Thanks for playing! It is really much more of a relaxing place to hang out for sure. I appreciate the feedback.

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-27T01:26:02Z

@weirdybeardyman Wow, that really does mean a lot, thank you for playing

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-27T01:27:13Z

@alec I appreciate the comment, I struggled to find where I wanted to go with gameplay but I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Really motivating

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-27T21:44:53Z

@plot @knipsch @kovi @styrofoamwaffle @advay @hilvon @wobs @noctuaris12 I've had a hectic day and just came back to all of your comments. Thank you guys so much for checking out my entry. I would like to play with expanding on the game with more interactivity and would like to tweak the camera. I have heard the feedback about the player character being a little slow as well. @noctuaris12 The level layout is procedural and I didn't catch the bug about it persisting the end state until after submitting, great catch and thanks for letting me know. Again, thanks so much to all for checking it out, I'll be going through and playing all of yours as well   :space_invader:

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-28T02:19:02Z

@ruddgasm Thanks! Yeah the prompt and reading the notes again are bugs. I appreciate you playing and the feedback

Penguins can't fly by Attala 2021-04-26T19:14:44Z

Very cool game, I especially enjoys the sfx  It was tough at first and got me to keep playing and get better, I enjoyed that a lot about it.

The Deep Web by William Corrin 2021-04-26T13:33:05Z

This is awesome, I want to make a racing game now. The music is fantastic, the art is really stunning. Really enjoyed your entry.

Beautiful blob by Hestrateja 2021-04-26T21:12:09Z

I'm a true beauty! The first time I transformed it was such a fun surprise! Once piece of feedback - not sure if it's the compression in the engine or if the sprites were scales but the beautiful pixel art is a bit fuzzy, and the art really is fantastic. Great game! :blowfish:

SUPER RED by neonjeff 2021-04-26T14:01:23Z

omg I love it so much. The music change was shocking in the best of ways, making progression so much fun. Also, the vocals at the end when I won made me laugh. Gameplay was a lot of fun, there was enough variety to make me want to keep exploring my little worm tunnel, awesome job.

Extreme Deep Sea Fishing! by Sbug 2021-04-26T19:03:26Z

After watching some of your progress on twitter I was excited to play this one, it didn't disappoint. Super cool idea and execution. Congrats :fish:

Deeper&Deeper LLC by armytag 2021-04-26T14:09:29Z

Haha, "Deeper and Deeper" - I love the take on the theme. Fun little arcade fighter. Sorry to hear about losing progress but awesome job on pushing through and submitting.

New Horizons by Noctuaris12 2021-04-27T21:59:10Z

I love 2d and 3d combined and the game is gorgeous, that effect of the office unfolding when (enter spoiler here) is super cool. Lots of polish, awesome job. The story is weird and twisted and I'd love to get deeper into it so I hope you all continue. The platforming controls are a little sensitive but the underwater caves are so beautiful and cool to explore. Awesome job, this is super unique, congrats

Aquanaut by EvilScotsman 2021-04-27T01:34:46Z

The art and sound were so good on this one. I love the adaptive soundtrack and the pixel art is top notch. The AI was really fun and well balanced as well. Great submission

Afraid to Turn by rhoff95 2021-04-27T01:04:23Z

You've created a really great atmosphere here, really classic campy werewolf vibes. Your chonky pixel art is fantastic, and the depth of the forest is *muah*. The transition to turning in a werewolf on the character is subtle as well which I really like. My favorite is probably the sound design, it didn't need music, and the sfx were all consistent (both in sound and volume). Really great job.

Reach That Point by Dmitry Mozgin 2021-04-26T13:13:22Z

I love this one so much, bookmarked it to play later. Between the gameplay and the music it's kind of therapeutic. I'd love to have this on mobile, I would get lost in it. Regardless of platform hope you keep fleshing it out.

Eros and Psyche by Noam Zeise 2021-04-26T20:55:19Z

Very cool, you packed a lot of content in for 48 hours, great job! The story mixed with the rhythm mechanics was a lot of fun. It felt kind of like a visual novel with mixed gameplay which I enjoyed a lot. The art is great as well, great job

Prospector Paranoia by Kovi 2021-04-26T21:06:43Z

Fun little game, I wasn't expecting the monsters in the dark as I was losing my sanity, that was a fun surprise. The art is great and I loved what your lighting did for the mood. Congrats :pick:

I'm So Deep by liammasters 2021-04-26T13:19:10Z

I got deep on one of mine. This was really creative, I'm not sure I understand how to win but it was fun playing with creating poems.

Glitch Dip by Volkolak 2021-04-26T15:02:12Z

My demons almost got me, glad I had a shotgun. Super fun play on the theme, I had a lot of fun with this one.

One More Lap! by Harrison Dunn 2021-04-26T18:37:47Z

Definitely my favorite so far. Such a great take on the theme, I couldn't stop going deeper and deeper. Gave me Stanley Parable vibes in that it very quickly stopped being about the racing and much more about the relationship/conversation with the ... narrator (you, I guess, haha). I really loved this one, awesome job.

Lord Of The Flies by PixelPortalz 2021-04-26T20:42:18Z

It took me a second to figure out what I needed to do but once I did it was on. And I think that's a good thing btw, you state it in the intro that you can't tell the player, the flies have to, that was a great touch. The upgrades as you go made progression really fun and made me want to keep player. Great entry, congrats! :poop:

Hyperspace Narwhale by styrofoamwaffle 2021-04-27T22:34:47Z

So when I started I was like "cool, I'll avoid some squids as a narwhale for a bit" but never expected such an amount of epic to shower over me. The mood of this game with the music, and the shooting stars in the background, and the star power pulsing through my narwhale horn is off the charts. The end cutscene of the narwhale screeching through space when you finish a level is also so satisfying. This is awesome, great job! :whale2: :star:

Pigs War by sharkmax218 2021-04-26T19:58:34Z

This had me cracking up, great job

Tiptap the Tadpole vs. the Menacing Cthonic Horde by Knipsch 2021-04-27T22:41:12Z

I'm so impressed with the innovation of your entry, I want to give it 10 stars for innovation, it's such a cool idea. I also loved grabbing someone to play a multiplayer game with. Your vector art is beautiful too. As far as the mechanics I love that you have to build the monster correctly for it to be effective, it helps so much with balancing in such an interesting way. Congrats on the submission, I'm really glad I got to play this one

Paragon by LakshyaIsAGod 2021-04-26T20:04:57Z

Super disappointed you're trying to cheat the jam ratings.

Panic by Plot 2021-04-27T22:46:04Z

This made me laugh so hard. I love the sprites, all the art is beautiful. I also love the juxtaposition of the chill retail background music against the horrific acts that I'm committing.

Plague by Advay 2021-04-27T22:19:00Z

I feel like a virus sharpshooter! :mask: Awesome job, at first I didn't think the last level was winnable, but I kept at it and won. It got me into frantic mode which was a cool reaction that felt fitting for the overall theme of the game. Congrats!

Deeper in Debt by NorthernDonut 2021-04-26T19:17:23Z

This is literally me in real life, I spent all my money on pizza and donuts  Great game, I especially love the art, congrats!

Caves of the Forgotten by CorbenG 2021-04-26T18:44:18Z

Beautiful, you're animations especially are super smooth. I too loved the 'Mike' reference, lol. It's one of the few games I think was probably better without music, super chill and I just kept exploring.

SPERMA by the neon shark 2021-04-26T19:47:57Z

That was really hard ... heh  And also curse you for the upgrade system, I couldn't stop playing! It really was a lot of fun and a really unique challenge. Great job :egg:

Gecko Dive by bqq 2021-04-27T22:12:47Z

A lot of others have said it but I'll repeat, the art and music are fantastic, as well as the transitions and the gecko's animation. The puzzles are extremely well crafted not just individually, but progression of the challenges of each level makes for really good pacing. This feels like a prototype for a commercial game, and I honestly believe that with more levels and additional objects/mechanics it would sell. Great, great job :lizard:
