One of my favorite so far! its super juicy, I wish there were more levels but thats the nature of jams

One of my favorite so far! its super juicy, I wish there were more levels but thats the nature of jams
I really liked it, I have always liked mimics. I really liked the art. great job, but I didnt realize that the gold was also treasure until the third or forth wave tho.
Oh no, thanks for the heads up. it SHOULD be fixed now
Ok now it should be fixed.. really sorry bout that
Thanks! It may sound weird but I havent played any text adventures either so it may be a weird one. In glad you enjoyed it though!
Thanks for the heads up, found the error. It crashes if you go through the bridge with only the Dagger as a weapon, I can fix it with ease
Yeah even my computer gives me warnings, I'm pretty sure it is because it's a raw exe, I will try and make sure that's not the case for future projects.
I like the idea of a kinda MMO Idle game, just wish I could tell which one is me. Love it tho and will keep it open for a bit (wiseolive)
EDIT just realized that we arent the villagers. I get it now Really cool
Gave Humor a 5 simply because it said high five when I had no arms. I am a armless main. Really enjoy this game, be nice if there was a personal best saved to compare
By far one of my favorite walk animations so far
Boom. Aren't I charming?
Hey I tied out your game for a bit, Enjoyed it, but I think there is bug where you can hit the buttons multiple times, the Green arrow will disappear and not reappear but I was able to max out any of the three attributes buy continuously clicking. The game was very Zen and was pleasant all around.
No problem, just took a quick break from working on my Jam game.
The pig was really unsettling in a funny way, like an old cyriak video. That is a good thing imo. the collisions were off and It would be cool to push the bills a bit faster, other than those minor things it was alot of fun! good job
Amazing sprites! and pretty relate-able premise I definitely got a chuckle from the humor. I did find healing someone when there was a big crowd hard, that seems like the point and the primary use for the AOE spell, The cut-scenes were great but I was a bit let down that there was no final cutscene, but that is jam times. I love the party members as babies metaphor, not only where they helpless like babies they whined like them as well. Dont know if it was intentional or not but sword guy felt like he complained about heals alot more than anyone else. Fantastic entry
The music plus the character hyper run really fit amazing well for me, helps that the music was fantastic. The music really gave the whole game a jazzy feel. Alot of levels for a jam and the puzzles were satisfiyng to solve. Great work! I do think I solved the last puzzle wrong,I dont know if your supposed to jump over that last fan, makes the 2nd cannon redundant
Oh my god this freaked me the F out, I was like "I will sing cause I have been doing office work, oh I lost 400 dollars, Stealing huh? im curious, oh.. now I can only steal, Oh this guy only has 300$, WHAT IS HAPPENING OH GOD NO PLEASE NO JUMP SPOOK" that was a really unique jam experience, the atmosphere was perfect.
No Jam game has gotten me like this, probably because people seem more mechanic oriented during jams like this. really good stuff, the fact there was minimal audio up until the stabbing made me super paranoid when the Baby needs meat started. "Baby needs meat" is just a freaky statements on its own.
really enjoyed this one! The game started to click when I realized how good using the 10 groups to push the king. When the levels started looping I was able to clear early levels with ease once I figures that out! I did have some issues when dragging units in a corner, if I started draging with no space them moved the camera towards the corner they where in, I wouldnt be able to aim in certain directions. good entry
The second puzzle took me an EMBARESSINGLY long time to figure out, I and a blast figuring it out. After level 2 the others were pretty easy to solve. This one hit me good, the sudden deaths were fun as all hell, the options being built into the machine was perfect. I think it might have been fun to do the puzzles in any order, some things might have had to change to compensate that change but I think figuring out what buttons lead to what part might have been interesting.
Fantastic entry, Great art and funny quips! the "Fathers say raising a family is hard, but its easy if they are buried close together" made me laugh. very juicy too! it did feel kind of short
the Dragon is adorable, he was the most precious boi, including the wholesome ending! I like the charge attack but when I got later on I noticed I couldn't just tap if for a small shot, which I ended up doing quite a few times, usually it would leave me standing out there like a goof ball as I got smashed by magic unicorns, I did get used to always charging the shot tho. I found hunting Unicorns to be quite fun, it felt a little silly in a good way to be eating unicorn horns, it lightened the atmosphere quite a bit in my opinion. The progression of the dragon and ending where really well done as well! Good stuff.
Thanks everyone for the comments!
@patrickjr I added that little feedback because there was very little to do while marching. I am glad it was worth it!
@madbookstudios Near the end I was getting paranoid about the chirps, I did have to do alot of testing with it so I was worried it might get annoying, glad it was as bad as I thought (the sound definetly starts to ware thin after alot of testing)
@brunosly Thanks! that is honestly a really big compliment! If I was to continue I would have to pretty much rewrite most of it from scratch cause the code is a mess xD.
@commanderstitch haha a win is a win! glad that the penguins drew you in, I love them.
@sayumeki Oregon trial was definitely a point of reference as I worked, 'Im glad are we there yet' was enjoyed! Writing the events became odd to me after a while as I lost consistence and just started writing whatever. Thanks! this may sound strange but the shrinking crowd was the very first thing I added xD
@a-312 haha the messurements are pretty silly when you think about them, got a chuckle from your comment.
@lambdanaut I definitely thought my game was harder than it was, until I saw my brother do Hard on his first try, but to be honest considering the amount of RNG involved it definitely is better that its not to brutal. But I agree with taking some of the RNG out. Thanks!
@quichi Im glad you liked the title screen, I just decided that I would shove the penguins where ever I could. But agree, it doesnt help that the choices are not always clear on the outcome. A tool tip that says the result would have been a good choice, when I tried to do that I realized my code hated that so I would have had to do an entire rework of how events worked, which would have wiped my janky event data base again. Thank you very much for the feed back
@bradcode Thanks! I think a score would be a fantasitic Idea! But yeah Balance defiantly is off, especially between the marching speeds. What I tried to do is that Marching fast and Marching slow have slightly diffrent event pools, but those events didnt really balance eachother out much at all.
@fiakaiera Thank you! and yeah, considering the game became a more chill experience more about the little bois, A nice background would have been a great addition. I thought Hard was harder than it was, but my brother first tried it as well, usually with Jams I have made games to hard so I kind over corrected for that. Oh and yeah the wait button is pretty much just a pause because I needed to stop the march when events where up, it definetly should have been more of a rest option (or just not let the player click it because it implies in may do something). Thanks for the feed back!
@mitjmcc thanks! And yeah, it is basically left up to RNGesus if you get enough food to break that loop
@houdou haha thanks, and trust me I tried to do something like that :D
@abdurrahman-khallouf Sorry for taking so long to see this, my sleep schedule is pretty messy and nocturnal right now. I checked out your entry and left a comment :D, it showed me alot of things I could do to get deeper into the concept, such as persistent events like the dog.
And thanks for the feed back! I agree with the animation thing, if I work on the game more I think I will remove slow marching all together and make the other mode Rest, with a sitting animation. The amount of encounters was a big issue for me while testing as well, I think in one of my test runs I got "annoying child" 4 times in a row ironically it was annoying.
I do have plans to take a month to flesh the game out, I have never published a full game before and want to take steps towards that (usually cause I overscope WAY TO HARD on my other projects) and this project seems like it could work on mobile or a small steam game, After i have polished the game ALOT.
not sure the best way to contact you, This site is pretty situational. I mainly use discord
Event cooldowns is such a great idea! I will probably work that into my system. Ill definety check out your twitter @abdurrahman-khallouf
@meme-310 Thank you very much, your husband is a really cool guy, with a fantastic entry as himself!
Great entry, and a pretty unique take on the theme ive seen so far, first platformer I have seen, and it was done really well! I did find that the level transition effect was quite slow. After level one I was concerned it broke. Also I tried to pause using escape and ended up closing the game, a niche case but it did kinda suck for me. Kinda unpreventable when you need a way to close the game, but just thought it necessary to mention.
Other that having issues with the sound design this was a great entry! the end sequene didnt send me to the title screen so I dont remember my scores perfects but they were close to this
Level 2: 8 Points, 28.something Timer Level 3: 11 Points, dont remember timer
The game play is original! getting a hand of how the ball conserves momentum was really fun, the rounds were consistent so I had to plan routes and make small adjustments to see if it would end better. The end animation was really nice too. I would reccomend turning the volume on the sound effects down.
Wonderful entry, great art, unique idea done well. Something to consider tho is that the feedback for the heart beat is lacking, it may have been good to hear a bassy heart beat sound with each hit, kinda like a rhythm game hit sound, also it took me a bit to realize the first console opens a door, it may be better to have the first door insight of it. Those are just some minor suggestions for a great entry. Its like a rhythm stealth game which is truly unique
Cute game, I like the you lose message, I also would stop a gunfight if someone brought a dog haha. The camera was a bit broken with 2 monitors tho. Good work on this game though!
I really enjoyed this, and learned alot of little things I could have done to improve my project. I really like how you could see the cost of the choices before making them, while still having unforseen but still predictable consequences! The characters were pretty enjoyable, but I suspect the chef hates me, I never did anything to imporve the kitchen but hit Fantastic mining speed asap. Great entry
Took a few attempts but it was a really fun game that was surprisingly strategic, I always ended up firing my spys when I was about to tip into the revolution. Farmers where always welcome, especially since alot of the executions felt like they required food. The Army bar (the muskets) seemed to be the hardest to fill. over all excellent entry
Good entry, I kinda like the momentum based movement, it was weird at first but pretty interesting. I did have issues with the 'How to play screen', it would not let me go back so I had to restart the game, not a huge loss cause it was on the main menu. My run did end with me being stuck on top of a guy, who proceeded to hit me out of stun while I was unable to move. Graphics and mood were solid! and I ended up liking the momentum based movement too! Good work
Liked this entry alot, some of the times feel pretty tight but to be honest that made it more excited in my opinion. The Dark level was really hard though. Only real feedback I have is it would be nice if there was a coyote jump (a small time after you fall off a platform where you can still jump), some of the challenge definitely came from falling off platforms because I hit jump last second. I found the Art very pleasing and had a great time!
Fun game! I like the little dragon friend, it would be nice to see his hunger while fighting tho. I liked the art alot!
Had a enjoyable time, did take some fiddling to find how to launch it from the files, I did find it tho. I like the injection mechanic, and I Really enjoyed the text boxes for the player. I did find the shooting to be a bit odd, if I was moving in the same direction as I was shooting the bullets would disappear, I THINK the bullets might be colliding with the player. I like the enemy HP bar. nice entry!
I like the music! and the game was pretty fun. Great work, for improvements I would say more feedback when you hit the enemies, and maybe let the play dash diagonally if possible.
Great entry, the graphics are quite pretty and the audio wasnt intrusive. There was definitely some tension near the end of a round when most of the resources are gone or far. My Time was 5: 03 :D It took me a while to realize you could break down trees into logs, but it was really cool when I did, it was very subtle but it was satisfing to find that out on my own
I will say, Shift being the dash made me unable to spam it as much as I wanted because of stick keys. I think it should either be a diffrent key, or have a cooldown or energy source.
great entry! Like the font choice, its a classic and fit right in
I really like the little attention to details, the parallax background, the enemy bodies that stay on the road. Its a fun little game, I did have trouble clearing it but had a good time doing so. The music did feel a bit repetative at times, but not enough to be a issue imo. Good work!
Really fun entry, the puzzles were really solid and gave me that all important AHA moment when I solved them! Really enjoyed this one, the light effects were really nice too.
Man been playing for a while now, im working my way up to first (mainly cause im just having alot of fun). When Javascript came up it bounced between JS bad and JS good until “Jack Skellington's nature is to not be evil, I do declare” came up which was amazing
edit: so you can grind score REALLY easily if you are in every channel i have learned, since you just create new channels and can always guess correctly
It gets pretty challenging, but is a pretty well executed good idea. I did find Coal kinda hard to spot sometimes, and was not a huge fan of the music personally. But the puzzles were really cool, the graphics had a really interesting style, and it was really nice to have an intro and a cart riding mini game!
Great work!
Really solid game, had alot of fun. It is pretty brutal to manage all of the elements but thats the who goal. I dont know if I saw all of them, but I got 2:29 for my best. It would have been nice if the Brain options were closer to the bar, since I had to glance back and forth really fast. The intro was pretty funny. Hot keys would have been amazing, maybe e to toggle food, 1 and 2 for the choices, arrow keys for the minigames, w to drink, r to sleep? dont know, but it would help with optimizing my gameplay.
Had fun and the concept is really good! I got into it for a bit, I have played space sims and games of this kind before so alot of things kind of came second nature to me. The UI is pretty unresponsive mainly because closing it is pretty easy.
The concept didn't hit me until I ran out of oxygen on the main planet and that is when things got kinda intense, I was panic building flag ships to carry as much people as possible. I did find one major exploit however, I was able to take earths negative Oxygen and give it to a ship, which kind of saved earth. I did have one bug really mess me up, I built a ship and flew it into earth bu accident, and I became impossible to select, A minor issue when I learned better control.
But holy cow I really liked the art, it made me thing of cartoons I used to love. The audio was in that right space for me. Great work!
One of the most fun games so far, I will say it took me much longer than it should have to realize you can shoot the boulders (pretty sure the game litterally told me I could i just did a dumb). At first the graphic seems a bit plain, but the main characters little knee bend honestly was just too perfect with the goofyish tone I felt at the start with the Title screen joke. The game play is satisfing, when I blocked some of those end waves it was sick! Fun entry. If I had any sujestions it would be make the background contrast with the boulders better, they were a bit dark and while not super hard to see, defiently would become an issue if the game had more levels / was harder.
God D*** that scared me... Im a coward, and wont be able to sleep tonight. Amazing horror experience, definitely deserves 1# in mood. This is probable the most complete experience a Jam game can be. 10/10 would crap my pants again.
I like programming games, the graphics were cute and the intro level was an amazing way to get me to understand what each thing did. It could use more levels, and maybe conditions so you can escape loops. It might be a good idea to have the buttons darken a bit more when hovered so its clearer, good entry.
Really awesome entry! reminds me of Breach and clear with the line of sights while also being nothing like it. I think the upgrades improved the game 10 fold by adding a nice sense of progression and strategy, I enjoy upgrade systems that make you feel strong. the levels did get pretty hard bit it was fun to manage grenades and the like. Great work!
Awesome games with awesome visuals, weird bug I was having though.. the Game crashed if I used A S D W instead of the Arrow keys, arrow keys worked fine so the game was fun, but yeah weird bug. Again tho, amazing entry!
Really awesome entry and super unique take on the theme! I got up to week 24 and things did get a bit grindy but fun grindy if that makes sense, like I was caught up in keeping my strategy going. I eventually lost because I clicked the end week button as it was changing and got arrested. It did feel like I was just taking every card I could get since the differences between them didn't feel super substantial, I don't know if the minimum payment was ever above 10$. Minimum payment was the most important stat is seemed. Again fantastic game thats original, fun, and really good looking amazing work!
Awesome entry, gotta say I love the innuendo going on. The difficulty in the end section was a DRASTIC increase from the rest of the game, but it was super satisfying to finally overcome. Took me a bit to find the intended route so it might have been good to signal that a bit better on the very last section. Again great work
Really cool take on Puyo-Puyo, Digging deeper and deeper can change up how some combos work in an interesting way! I think the main menu volume settings are bugged I dont think the sound settings transferred over to the game properly (web version). Im amazing that it was so well done and bug free in with such a short time restriction, great work!
Very simple, for 4 hours this is amazingly scoped, super small yet polished for the time you had. its fun even if the random generation could feel somewhat unfair at times. Great work keeping it small and submitting something fun and polished
Really smart choices made with this project: - Keeping upgrades on death kept me playing 10x longer than I would have otherwise - Becaues keeping upgrades is a thing, the depth requirement ment I couldnt cheese it.
Wonderful entry and smart design
graphics and audio were fantastic, nailed a mood and had an adorable character. Not much to talk about gameplay wise, but that's fine as the mood solidified the game as a short experience rather than a game game. Fantastic work, The Icons saying how many books I saw was very good to have as well so I didnt get stuck when I came across the closed door!
Cool entry, the visuals were cute but more importantly they were very clear, the use of a black background really help everything be quickly understandable great work, the controls felt great. Wish there was sound but thats just how game jams go. Again fun entry!
wow, to me this is a perfect jam game. Fun, inventive, and makes me want a full version. One major improvement that could be added is maybe if you hover over a material and hold shift and click you can quick build units or weapons, dragging got really annoying as things ramped up. Again fantastic entry! great work
Awesome entry! Its always cool to see something as ambitious as a factory builder during a jam, and its always exciting to see a good one! I think the Goal of get x materials in a set time was a really good addition, added tension and excitement needed for jam games. My 2 pieces of feedback would be that the Zoom in and out on scroll whell works on the main menu and reveals to much, the second is the the buttons felt off when I tried to click them, luckily you had the 1,2,3,... hot keys so it wasnt much of an issue. Awesome entry!
Really juicy really fun. My only suggestions would be to make the player be semi transparent, it could be hard to tell if your above something, or at least have it be an option. The second would be a progress bar so I could now how far I was while playing. Again tho this entry was super polished, pretty, and fun, and above all the death sequence made me laugh! Great work
Really cool game! character variety and enemy variety is always a awesome thing to see! The game could be very hard, which would be fine if I didnt have to start from level 1 when I run out of lives. Some times hits would be unavoidable on level 2, I never got enough move speed to avoid the laser eyes. Level 1s spikes blended into the BG a bit so I didnt see them the first few times, Level 2 spikes where very clear and easy to spot which was good. A small little thing that would have added alot IMO is a small text popup when you picked up an upgrade to know what it was, I couldnt memorize the thing on the main menu. But Again really awesome entry these are all just little things. Fantastic work on the art, game feel, sound, story, it was all great!
Really really awesome game! first of all the art was AWESOME I love the style so much. The audio was great how ever the main menus audio seemed a bit broken. The mood was great and gameplay was fun. I can see a full version of this game with ship repairs maybe cargo you have to take care of being awesome. My biggest issue however was the foreground darkness, I did realize it wasnt walls until I accidentally went flying into it. Once I knew it was foreground I would still have issues were the foreground made it hard to see what I was doing, but that is basically my one and only issue. Awesome awesome entry!
Awesome entry! really fun, I wish it was longer tho, but considering the polish being so high, time might not have been on your side haha. Well done
Awesome entry, at first I spam clicked to break the ore not realizing axing the coins lost them, once I realized that I had to learn to me careful which was a pretty cool aha moment. The simple use of 3 tools was cool, they had to be used in tandum, although the hand feel a bit less interesting than the other 2 naturally, it made me think I had to pet the bird haha. Again awesome entry really fun and interesting
Always cool to see any sort of plot in a jam game, great work. The mechanics were fun.
Awesome game, great presentation both graphically and auditorily. The levels were fun too, some tougher than others but all of them felt fair. My biggest issue was with the camera, I wish it would show the whole level at all times and I wish there was a full screen mode. But honestly those were very minor issues that barely affected my experience. I would have been nice to have some sort of clear visual when you were able to grapple hook and when you couldnt but again, a minor thing that didn't effect my enjoyment. Awesome work.
I got caught up in a conversation so my time is a bit messed up
Capture.PNG
Awesome game! it was fun and I am glad there was an ending, I think it might have been easy to make this sort of game infinite and I think the game would have been worse off for that, so good work! I wish there was more feedback so it was more clear what could and couldnt be destroyed with fuel. Again though great work!
Had eel, eel/eel
was hard to play, I couldn't hit the buttons but it was funny as hell. Good work
Really really fun and addicting entry, the upgrades were fun to stack and combine, 2 suggestions that would help the upgrade system IMO, 1) being able to skip guns, I sometimes dont want to take the triple gun when I have the laser. and 2) make sure you dont pick the same upgrades as options, Being given 3 options for orb duration was a little sad to see. Other than those two changes this game absolutely nailed it. REALLY really fun, fantastic work
awesome entry, I think making the character have high saturated pink skin was a great call, he was very visible at all times, good contrast. I had the impression that the bottom part of the mines were lethal, you probably could have gotten away with just having the spike ball part appear. Again though the entry was really fun, had good visuals and good audio, great stuff
Took me a while to learn the controls, but it was quite interesting, controlling the vessel your in reminds me of barotrauma really awesome work
The graphics as mentioned were really good, I played when the controls were listed so I was able to get to what I think was the end which was nice. The concept is cool but I don't think there was enough game play to say much, since the combat seemed to auto battle and none of the fights seemed optional there was very little to consider while moving forward, which could lend itself to a nice narrative if you wanted to take it in that direction. really good work though, there was quite a few movement options which was pretty cool.
Really awesome game I played it for quite a bit! I did discover kinda a issue, I think at some point the prices Cap and you can just go forever, basically was SirRed said. other than that the game was really solid, unique, and fun
Very cool entry simple art but not bad, the audio was very loud for me. The game play was actually very fun but I think it would have been nice if the pick up and kick key were separate, maybe have C be pick up.
