LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep It Alive by Pennycook 2020-04-23T02:12:31Z

Oh! The sound was definitely stunning.

Great concept you have there! Took me about two or three runs to realize that the colored rectangles are actually litmus papers.

The talking is an interesting option here -- it's an opportunity for the players to have an insight on both the character they're playing with and the plant. I think that you can play that up a little bit more, maybe even affecting the stats a bit further.

Nice little game. Thank you for the experience.

It's a 3D pachinko machine. It's a 3D pachinko machine!

Yes! I love the baby noises.

Keep it Alive - the Rectangle that is by gonutz 2020-04-22T09:12:33Z

Hi there.

This is probably the best LD46 game I've played as of today. This is the kind of puzzle game that has a ruleset simple enough to understand but also complex enough to self-generate levels. I really like how in each level you discover new ways to utilize blocks.

This has potential! I really think so.

Also, great music lol. Gives me gameboy vibes and it sounded really Japanese (which is my favorite)

I'm gonna play it again. TTYL.

Anibun Help Me! by aeveis 2020-04-21T06:50:35Z

I like how you designed each anibun to have different powers! I feel like the game could pause when the player's reading a book -- the font wasn't exactly the easiest to read off. But other than that, great work!

LAST HUMAN by GuitarBro 2020-04-22T08:49:26Z

It's a neat little shoot-em up game with rogue-like elements. I'm impressed by the amount of work you've put into this. Random generation has a caveat: it's harder to control difficulty. During my first run the difficulty curve seemed to be normal, but from my second run everything became instantly harder. Don't know if that's a feature?

I love the modules! Although they eventually glitched out and couldn't be picked up, the way slightly gives advantages but also new challenges (moving faster -> harder to control) is neat.

Overall, solid game! Thank you for this amazing experience.

Keep Them Alive by acoto87 2020-04-21T06:45:15Z

I like how this game relates to our current world. There is this one pair of patients that I needed to let one die in order to let the other live -- is this intentional? Either way, it works in terms of the setting (being in a medical facility, in a dilemma where doctors have to decide who to give up under extreme conditions). Nicely done.

Penguin March by ilPrinny 2020-04-22T09:00:31Z

Very cute! I dig pixel graphics so that's a 5/5 for me.

RNG is pretty heavy in this game. I'm not against it but some of the events are rather too essential to be random. Specifically, I think the functionality of 'Starvation' can be separated out into its own button.

But nice little game about number management! Thank you for your experience!

I love the game! I was expecting to do some math since you mentioned deciphering.. but turns out that counting letters is hard enough. I wonder what "party" means in this context.. ;)

Innocuous Pong by MachWerx 2020-04-21T02:26:04Z

Maybe it's just my computer coughing up but the framerate drops made the game a bit hard to play. But I love how you handled the core gameplay and progression!

Thank you for your work! See you in a bit.

Protect The Artifact by WillyPa 2020-04-20T06:40:32Z

The boost mechanism is interesting -- it gives you not only an advantage but also a challenge (harder to control)!

Pogo by Motley 2020-04-23T07:50:12Z

I like how your game has easy controls. But what I really appreciate is how you managed to come up with obstacles that fit your simple controls. I especially liked the giraffe -- not only was it cute to watch, but it was an obstacle that challenges both time (the continuously scrolling level) and position (the height of the player and the giraffe).

Simple and fun! This is definitely one of those games that make great time-killers. Thank you for your experience.

How to Air by kwaku 2020-04-22T09:26:49Z

Escape the room games! Oh I love these.

I think your art and sound definitely helped set the mood. I loved how the guy on the planet was just called "dude", I laughed a while there. It was a great combination and implementation.

I understand that we're all under time pressure and there's just so much one can do with puzzle design, but I think it'd be cool if the puzzles are a tad-bit harder than the current state.

Amazing game! Once again, the art and the sound. Mmmm (chef's kiss).

Oh on a side note, CH4 is not helium LOL

Feeding Time! by ghostonline 2020-04-20T09:40:51Z

I love how this game is a mixture between puzzle and action. Simple rules, limitless variations. I'm also really interested in how you implemented chain chomp's physics!

Type it alive by Adry 2020-04-20T09:56:20Z

It looks like a good concept! Probably it's my chrome not working, but every time I hit space the page also scrolls so it's barely playable. Will benefit if you could add some more instructions!

Your Plant by PerfectSquare 2020-04-21T02:21:39Z

I was a little bit bored at the first stages, but when I had to take care of two plants at once it instantly became much better and fun to play! Thank you for your work.
