The guy is supposed to walk leisurely, so you have enough time to drop the necessary items. The first three levels were meant as introduction levels with additional text, but I ran out of time before I could add the text.
Just uploaded an executable version for Windows. Have fun!
Nice clean game. Somehow reminded me of Zelda :P
This game was initially just another game that would not run. Thankfully the tips you gave to make it run worked and it definitely was worth the effort. Nice game and definitely loved the atmosphere.
I was pleasantly surprised by the twist after the snake gameplay. Interesting idea and good execution.
Very, _very_ well done. Love the mood and astetics of the game. The cat certainly put a smile on my face! Thanks for creating this ^_^
I am very impressed by the number of mechanics you managed to come up with to keep each floor interesting. Nice solid game!
Definitely one of my favourites!
Cute and simple. I very much like the intro cutscene, although it overshadows the game itself a bit, making actual game itself feel a bit bland. A bit more visual feedback could go a long way towards making it all a bit more enjoyable.
Simple game with interesting controls. Reminds me of the old button-mash sport games of the NES-era :) You might want to include files [1] and [2] so people have an easier time playing it.

Very nice and challenging game. I like mechanics you have put into it, I could not stop playing. Music does get a bit repetitive after a while, though.
I am not sure what framework you have used for your game and whether you are planning to port it, but you might want to create a Windows binary to increase your audience. Also remember that to participate in the competition, you have to submit your source code as well.
Cute game and nicely executed :). Like already mentioned, it could do with some more distinct visual and audible feedback (perhaps removing the tiles completely when tapped)?
Opening the game in Chrome results in a black screen. Investigating the swf with the Flash Projector yields the following error: "SecurityError: Error #2148: SWF file file:///[path-to-folder]/towerescape/bin/10seconds.swf cannot access local resource file:///[path-to-folder]/towerescape/assets/levels/1.txt. Only local-with-filesystem and trusted local SWF files may access local resources.". Perhaps you missed a compiler switch?
Interesting take on rewind and fast forward. Took a while to get the hang of tricking the reaper, but that did not spoil the fun.
I think you nailed the Hotline: Miami vibe pretty good here. I also liked the way you present the story using text in the level itself.
Wow, intense! I definitely like the thrill of luring the missiles into the aliens and dodging the incoming ones. Props for the gamepad support, makes the game even more enjoyable :)
I couldn't get even past the first try (I must be particularly dense), so I just looked them up in the source code O:). Just a simple guessing game, but I do like the spirit of not giving up even when your main game fails. Reminds me of some of my own LD attempts where I just threw in the towel instead of at least finishing something.
Feels very much like a complete game and the tutorial is sure helpful!
Initially, I thought it was just another top down shooter, but then I noticed the carrot collecting spin. Also really loved the graphics. Nice, well rounded game.
Winter will never be the same again...
Simple yet elegant gameplay. Very nicely done :)
Really love your take on the theme
Very nice interpretation of the theme!
You made the bullets and snowballs really feel like having a proper impact. Good visual feedback and surprisingly tight controls!
Nicely worked out game concept. Simple, yet quite satisfying. Well done!
@Leaghorn: the maze is generated using a random number generator, but I locked in the seed for a maze I thought was interesting enough. With a fixed maze, players are able to compare their completion times in a more sensible fashion.
Surprisingly complete entry: begin and victory screen, audio (albeit a bit repetitive music) and nice transitions between game states. I particularly liked how the title turns into the enemies and the cheat code is a nice touch.
Thank you for your responses!
@RudeJake: I have updated the description with the tools I have used
Sweet and simple, love the graphics
Very clever, I am impressed! Well done :)
You got the stealth and lighting down nicely. I like it how the lighting and camera changes with the monster being in the dark.
Nicely done, very entertaining
Quite original and love the aesthetics. Good entry and made me laugh on occasion. Controls do feel a bit floaty, though, and there is a small element of randomness between the dart shooters, where the darts of two or more shooters would constantly differ.
All in all a nice game, and I enjoyed watching your stream as well.
Nice idea and twist on the theme! I had fun playing it and was relieved you got a mode that was not time based. The movement sounds became a bit annoying, but I recon that can be fixed easily. Nicely done.
Ah, wow, did I click wrong there :P I was wondering already why I was unable to vote.
Well done! The photo capture is a very nice touch. Cute, simple, polished and to the point.
Although a bit puzzling at times, mainly due to the confusion about what a button is and what is not, I like the balancing act you have to do. The art is minimal, but brings its point across just fine. Good work!
Excellent game! You got a lovely little puzzler here and getting it finished in time is no small feat. There were a few times I was stumped, but overall a good challenge. Pushing the blocks around is a bit finnicky though. I would have preferred just grid based movement, so I could focus on the puzzles themselves some more, but that is only a small gripe compared to the fun I had playing this. Well done :)
@maximbegunov No worries, we all have features we had to scrap or implement differently due to the time constraints, that makes the compo fun :). Your game was still fun to play and I am impressed you have cranked out these interesting levels at such short notice.
Good entry, I like how cohesive this game is: the art, music and gameplay all feed properly into the upbeat theme of keeping a pet alive. I was unable to get the ball to work as reliably as petting, even though the former looked like more fun to use. But even still, like a previous commenter said, great execution.
Nice pixel art with an interesting mechanic. Sometimes, I did not have enough time to react to new threats in the time between them becoming visible and reaching my familiar, but I guess that is where practice comes in.
Very atmospheric and creepy. I was not entirely sure about what was expected of me and whether the result was good or bad. I like the intent, but as Nikita already mentioned, you have used non-original audio and your source code is missing, so I can only submit a rating if you apply for the Jam instead.
@lukel I had to look it up myself, because I was not sure, but opting out of scoring categories is for Jam entries only. I agree the placement is a bit confusing, but it is there since for the Jam 3rd party assets are allowed and it would be pointless to get scored for those. The Compo requires original works without exception.
About the source code, you are right that you do not need to supply the UE4 engine code. The source code we are referring to is the C++ and blueprints you have written yourself, so others can examine and learn from it. I am not sure how it works for assets in UE4, but I would suggest just zipping up your asset folder and upload it somewhere.
I think it is a shame your entry get penalized, especially since you made a nice game and you are upfront about all this. My suggestion would be to upload a game version without the audio assets (or rerecord them yourself) and indicate that being your compo entry, and the one with the originals as the 'Full' or 'Upgraded' version. That way, you can stay in the compo and let others rate you as well.
@lukel I am sorry to hear about your withdrawal from the Compo, but I sure can imagine this not being something you want to deal with after slaving away on your game for 48 hours. Like I said previously, I do appreciate your honesty and I do not see any malicious intent happening here, which makes it difficult to see it working out this way.
Still, you got a good, atmospheric game on your hands in a creepy setting. A solid entry and I wish you the best of luck in the Jam. I am looking forward to playing more of your creations!
Good entry, I like the setting and the switch maze you have built. That said, I missed countless jumps, forward jumps and ledge grabs, so my main critique would be the unforgiving controls, at least for someone like me. That said, even with the tricky movement, I wanted to at least complete the game, so you got me hooked properly :) Well done!
That intro! I was so pleasantly surprised. The gameplay is simple and to the point. I do not think I have any chance to keep the sea clean in this game, if that would be possible. The atmospheric effects are a nice touch as well. I am missing a feedback mechanic that indicates I am doing the right thing, especially since the nuclear waste takes a long time to process. Well done!
Nice simple maze game, you have made a good decision to go for the discrete movement instead of letting the player drive the car around these narrow passages. It always makes me smile when people record their own sound effects as well. It would be nice if the player could make their driving direction a bit more intentional, but otherwise a good entry.
Lovely upbeat game and left me wanting more. Nice, clean artwork and audio. You could speed up the player a bit more, but this is a good entry.
Nice twist on the theme and I do like your character art, your game is sadly hamstrung by its controls and camera bugs. I got stuck a few times where I think I got control of a body, but the camera kept focusing on the exit. I can see where you are going for and would have liked to play it properly.
Just as a tip, you are allowed to fix your controls (and other game breaking bugs) after the deadline as per the rules.
Nicely worked out entry! I like the hand drawn art and the little flourishes in the menu. I was sadly unable to get to the endgame (possibly because I am just too inept to control the shadows :P) to see if the quality persists, but you sure make very good impression. Well done :)
You got a lovely, consistent art style here and good twist on the theme. I am missing a bit of feedback/guidance for when the different attacks actually connect (especially bite, since it appears to be crucial for survival).
All in all, a solid entry!
@dlc-scar It was the bottom part while I was firing at some chasing enemies. It could very well an unfortunate old-fashioned collision party. Just to give some (unsollicited :P) advice: if you did not do this already, I would suggest setting the collision detection on the player to 'continuous' (is set to 'discrete' by default in Unity) and, unless your game depends on it, do not let other enemies have collision responses with the player, but using triggers only. Good luck with the improvements!
Good grief, this game is intense. I like the puzzley resource management you got going on. Sometimes things do get flashing around a lot and the music is a bit too much, but you got a good time-waster on your hands! I can easily see this being upgraded to a full-fledged mobile or web game. Job well done!
