sorry guys will do!
@spacewizardj and @polypickle i think im done now
damn
how to do it then?
@polypickle what exactly am i meant to zip?
i did the game, the data, the dll and the crash handler
does it work now?
title was a sim. I quite liked the result. could be improved though
huh, why so?
:/
hmm, will do
i don't really understand how this ties with the theme
bruh, best game here! :)
what a speedy car
the instabliity was really shown through the balloon. i can see the project getting big in the future
the hardest and most dizzying game ive played HHAHAH. no actually the physics are really really good and smooth
the man looks like hes running on waves! the whole system is very robustly built and in my time of playing couldnt find a single BUG. however there are some things that you could change such as the option of denying an upgrade. THe movement also felt a big cumbersome becuase it starts slow, has a long buildup and then it has not a lot of friction. All in all though amazing game
this game gave me the absolute CHILLS. This is a text game done correctly, even though your choices dont often have incredible impact on the storyline, the audio getting more and more twisted and dark was so incredibly imperilising. I got goosebumps all over from playing this. Just a question, i played it like 3 times but every time we all died, is there an actual good ending where u do manage to escape from the echoes and the zone?
Absolute PLEASURE to play this game. Massive little alchemy vibes, made me feel like some mad scientist brewing up disastrous concoctions! One piece of advice would be add a small "show solution" button for people who are REALLY stuck. For example, I only ever got to the energy tonic one and could never progress further, Im pretty sure its got something to do with poisonous tonic but idk. I even got 3 of the potions but never got the tonic unfortunately.
Also I would take away the stirring thing because after a while it just becomes tedious, especially if your using trackpad against those fast moving ones. I feel like just finding the right combination should be challenge enough. All in all though, one of the BEST gam james ive played so far. great job!
whats your thoughts on 147
damn i had really hoped that there were sfx. I could almost hear the thump noise when you jump on a bird :). Graphics are simply and adorable. Unfortunately it kept on crashing midway through the game so i could never finish it :(
@paperaeroplane555 every time 30 seconds in without fail, it just uexpectedly closes but i think thats a problem on my end haha
looks like an AMAZING game, but im using chrome (which im sure many other people are using as well), which doesnt support the WebGL build that you have published, so unfortunately I cannot play the game. However if you ported the WebGL game to a hosting site such as itch.io, then it would solve the problem. Hope this helps!
hearing all the positive comments, I would really want to play this game, however the itch.io page doesnt seem to want to load for me unfortunately. Its probably an issue on my end, Ill try to troubleshoot it
honestly the audio and graphics were top notch, the tune really fit the game imo, but some things sucsh as the gong still remain a mystery to me
not entirely sure but im pretty sure that theres an asset on the unity asset store with the exact level layout as yours :) im pretty sure its featured in the brackeys video made on post processing. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tjYz6Ab0oc) AMAZING game otherwise tho! Your own monsters etc were really well made along with the other mechanics. Thoroughly enjoyed!
really good take on theme, thoroughly enjoyed playing this game
the music and atmosphere really contributed to the mood of the game. Well done
honestly 10/10 graphics, but feels a bit complex for a jam game, and some people might be turned away due to the complexity. However the core mechanics feel robust and great, honestly would just love a bit more feedback on the icons/ingredients. (maybe like a fizzling sound when you click on one of the potion ones?)
@doc-kaos Yeah sorry i didnt have enough time to check over everything. Ill definitely fix it in the near future
@thehansinator Yes you are able to move the camera by pressing the scrollwheel button on your mouse and moving it. I forgot to add it on the itch page, thats my bad but ive added it now.
@jellybean thanks for the support!
@ixchow thanks for the feedback, if i had more time i would have added little pop up descriptions of each button, but of course there wasnt time :)
@smilewood thanks for the feedback! I discovered most of the bugs you said and honestly could not fix them without the risk of breaking the entire game. Will definitely look into once the jam is finished! :)
@untitled-studios thanks you so much!
@kora0h haha nice cell you got there!
@ethanzech yeah i guess that works as well. personally i would simply create a load of default cells using the first ability and then bomb rushing green with the last ability. Greens growth is really unstable at the beginning so it could grow really fast then immediately fall yk
@knipsch thats great! Means i achieved what i wanted to anyway!
@etrealjunior yeah i realised that after the total cell count exceeded 1000 things got really slow. It used to be that even 200 cells were too much and ive tried to optimise the scripts as much as possible
@corbeng nice hahha! Yeah i said the same thing on the itch page but yeah i couldnt really put a tutorial or anything because of the time restraints
@3lstmsinatrenchcoat oof im so sorry to hear that. I had only ported the game to Windows and WEbGL. Theres an additional download link at the bottom of the itch.io page for windows. can you check if that works?
@3LSTMsInATrenchcoat im so so sorry to hear that. Ill port a version to linux straightaway. Unfortunately i cannot test it but lets hope for the best :)
@3LSTMsInATrenchcoat ive ported it to linux and at the bottom of the itch page there should be another file for linux. However i need to stress i could not test it and so i dont know if it works. Sorry for the trouble, but i think i should work now :)
@3LSTMsInATrenchcoat so glad that it works and you like it!
@maggardjosh so glad to hear it!
@theviraldragon i know right? Honestly I even tried added a 3rd type of cell which was yellow and had the covid spikes things on it, but the scripts kept on breaking so I had to take it off unfortunately :(. You can still find the broken script in the github repository though
Thank you all for your amazing feedback!! @mausimus THank you so much for your feedback. I am considering launching it as a mobile game after all this jam business is finished but ive never done a mobile game before. Will definitely look into it! @paperaeroplane555 yeah i agree during the production I spent soo much time on balancing the AI, an incredibly small change such as an additional 1 second of lifetime GREATLY impacted the difficulty, and i mean GREATLY. At this difficulty its not TOO bad, but yeah more seasoned players can easily destroy the AI. My best was like 30 seconds i think haha
@listonos yeah someone mentioned that mouse thing above and ive since added a note in the itch.io page description about the panning :).
@thegreenworm i totally agree with you on this point. At the beginning I barely made the whole system work with all the button disabling and enabling etc. I would definitely fix this if I add extra time but I afraid if i tinker with the code too much i'll end up breaking the whole game xD
@cinar too too true. I definitely should add like a difficulty option honestly
oh dear it seems like so many people didnt know how to move the camera, thats probably my bad but i guess not many people scrolled down on the itch page haha (You press the scrollwheel button on the mouse and then drag it)
@owca yeah ill definitely do that after seeing these past comments
@wuppos um im pretty sure i did add feedback, like the cell's colour would become darker and more saturated if you hovered over it? I think maybe you might have tried to click on a dead cell? The smaller, darker kind.
@dobryn Thank you so much!
@slimmerburger Thank you for your support and feedback!
@zimny11 thanks! :)
@teddyincdev good to know that you figured out how to move the camera! haha
@bewelge many other users said the same thing. I might make a mobile game around it if i feel motivated enough!
@dekajoo ok lets see here. Other players have decided to make one GINOURMOUS cell, then full send that single cell forward to get a good trade-off (1 dead red cell vs 15 dead green ones), but i personally send every cell at the very beginning to just before the green cells, then mass produce using the first ability. Even if you have a bit less total cells than the opponent if you bomb rush them most of the time you'll win! My personal fastest time for winning was actually 30 seconds !
@mogaiskii if you have a mouse you press the scrollwheel button and then drag. Im sorry it wasnt clear enough.
@wamien You can press the scrollwheel button on your mouse then drag it to move to camera. sorry it wasnt clear enough.
@kalevrk True i didnt think that far ahead thats my bad.
Thank you all for such support feedback and Im truly grateful that you enjoyed my game!!
@trexxak yeah i realised as well as soon as the total cells break the 1000 barrier things practically kill themselves. At the beginning of development I couldn't even have 200 without unity crashing so Ive tried to optimise the scripts as much as possible!
@omegafalcon did you find out how to use the camera? Because if you press the scroll wheel button on your mouse and drag it you can move the camera to see more of the map, and theres also a minimap at the top of the screen
@omegafalcon when you say low detailed minimap, do you one thats less detailed than the one i have currently? (Top of the screen below the bar btw) saw ur yt video btw great game
@acarc thank you so much!
@dprings7 your feedback is very much appreciated!
@javicoder yeah ive realised that right after the player becomes more seasoned, the game loses all its difficulty. it was incredibly hard trying to balance the AI during development, very small changes would drastically impede the player from winning, or provide little to no challenge whatsoever.
@c64cosmin your frustration is quite understandable. Due to the time constraints I was limited to just the core game and no tutorial unfortunately. There are descriptions of each button at the button of the ludum dare description and the itch.io description as well.
@omegafalcon glad to hear it!
@edevjogos thank you so much for playing the game! Other players have decided to make one GINOURMOUS cell, then full send that single cell forward to get a good trade-off (1 dead red cell vs 15 dead green ones), but i personally send every cell at the very beginning to just before the green cells, then mass produce using the first ability. Even if you have a bit less total cells than the opponent if you bomb rush them most of the time you’ll win! My personal fastest time for winning was actually 30 seconds !
@archie-arch thank for you playing!
@purpledartfrog yeah but you saw the notes on the ludum dare and itch.io pages?
@hadik thanks for the constructive feedback, especially the about the audio, really appreciate it!
@purpledartfrog oh ok thank god so many other players just skipped it but Im glad you liked it!
@stroe-andrew thank you so much for playing and im glad that you enjoyed it!
@icxon I cant believe you put so much effort into playing and recording! It really means so much to me! I understand that the difficulty is quite easy, and Im working on that post-jam. If you would like, I could tell you once the game is in a more playable state seeing as you enjoyed it so much? If so, you could reply with your email or communication by choice and ill get to you once im finished! So glad you enjoyed! :)
@icxon im so glad to hear it!
@fancyreckless thank you so much for playing! Its true that its a bit short, so im working on adding a LOAD of new features post jam. If you want ill give u an update if you want once the game's completely finished so you can play?
@mrtroy wow im so glad to here it! Im currently still workiing on this game post jam so ill definitely tell you once the game is completed
@lcstark thank you so much for enjoying the game! I cant believe you still have the guts to play the game when there's like 2 hours to results! I definitely dont have the stomach for it haha. THanks for playing the game again.
not only did this game give me gamer rage, it also gave me carpal tunnel haha :). All jokes aside, the game's core mechanics feel really strong and the foundations are honestly very robust it seems. Even though the game has very minimalistic graphics it sorta fits with the audacious statements at the end of each round :). Added together the game gives me huge Thomas Was Alone vibes and honestly feels like a really good solid and simple jam game. Hope this does well!
all in all, the controls feel really good, and was blown away by the animations. However I never got the 3rd key because I tink the high backflip is a bit random? Like i would press the same combination of keys and sometimes it would do it and sometimes it wont. or maybe im just bad haha
great game in general but i feel the difficulty is too small in some parts. Overall great game
fell in love with the chill beat. Amazing game!
very small chill game that was very challenging at the beginning until i found the strategy of pulling as many blocks as I can before the orb can fall. Would be even better to see some more mechanics introduced but I understsand due to the time constraints. Amazing game would recommend
i tried over and over but i dont think the game is beatable unless you toggle invincibility? I just always crash into the ground and die even if im touching the flag.
thank god for my 140 wpm! Jokes aside, i feel like the "vampire growls to your left" is sorta broken because you literally spawn a vampire 1 meter behind you and also the bow is pretty strong as well because it 1 shots. Just some feedback but honestly i found the game really exhilirating for only words and has many of this jam's games beat
great idea to create the water with your mouse. great take on the theme imo
reminds of enter the gungeon. Really like it
nice game, really good take on the theme!
reminds me a lot of tetris, nice game!
what abominations you have created! great job on the game
i think you need the java file to run it @salohcin894
what a name for a project
anyone know how to rate games. the categories dont pop up for me even after ive played them
great game with great graphics. The lava rising really put tension when i was playing, good job! Only thing I would add is that it gets a bit repetitive after a while once you get good at it.
Ok so I have a few pieces of feedback you might want to hear, but first of all, an amazingly done game for only 48 hours, I especially liked the water simulation and the bears countenances. However, I felt the game wasnt challenging enough because I could simply place singular bears every time. The benign music was really great, and loved how it changed over time. Great!
really balanced game (literally and metaphorically) :)
dude i LOVE this game! BUT i found a bug that made it so I cann never complete a lovecraftian abomination. Whenever one of the bars reached the red area, the cards would spawn and go too far to the right so much so that you couldn't click on them because it went behind the UI.
quick question, why would you not opt out of the humour category? You would've gotten 5/5s for literally everything but the humour cat. AMAZING game btw
amazing how the row would instantly freeze when reaching the line. Makes for some really funny scenarios that compelety defy physics!
