I liked the mood! Nice collision-based pushing mechanics! It takes some time to master them to avoid the dangers!
Finished the game (survived)! Felt a little lonely. = ) Nice mechanics!
I completed 3 stages and I liked it in general. The camera movement and controls made me nervous sometimes because they did not seem very friendly to me but it's a fun game, anyway!
I liked the mood, music, art and narrative! Very atmospheric game!
I wanted to see the cute Juvi, so I fed him gently. Took me a while but I saw his transformation at last! = ) Nice graphics and sounds! Found camera movement with buttons not very intuitive for me but quickly adapted to it.
I love the gameplay, level design, music! Had fun playing it! Amazing game entry!
I liked the gameplay! The dice rolling animations look good and I liked them but during the game they felt slow. I wanted to see the result of dice rolling as quickly as it could be to continue playing! = ) Would be nice if the dice rolling animations were skippable or "speed-uppable" I thought.
@rsim, that's unfortunate, thanks for letting me know!
Could you toggle the Full-Screen mode? I think Full-Screen mode might help. Is a toggle button viewable to you? That's how the toggle button looks for me (it's a little bit "Hide and Seek"): FullScreenToggleButton.png
I also click inside the game view at the start to remove focus from the web page, so my mouse input could be processed by the game only. This may help, too. Let me know if it helps, please.
@rsim, @watswat5, thanks, downloaded Firefox and faced the same issue. Commited hotfix to support dragging camera with WASD/arrow keys. Published updated version on itch.io with the hotfix (see changlelog). It helped to resolve the issue for me on Firefox if you ignore mouse wheel completely. Let me know if it helps you as well, please.
I was using Opera all the time (it's fine there for me). Did not see that browser-specific thing coming. = )
@ilprinny, thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you liked it! I think I could reproduce the issue you mentioned. I'll see what I can do with this some time later. Thanks for letting me know!
@jonahsenzel, @seagull, thank you for your feedback, guys! I decided to create a separate post on the game details: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/bouncy-battlegrounds/more-information-on-bouncy-battlegrounds Hope the post answers your questions!
@mickm, @mlho7, thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you liked it!
@nick-barrash, I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, I think the first level should and can be better designed to avoid such cases because it's kind of a tutorial level, first of all. Thank you for your feedback!
@itskdog, @tomdeal, @acgaudette, @shaolin-dave, @chertkov, thank you for your feedback, guys! I'm glad you liked it!
@svarttand, thank you for your text and video feedback! The video helps greatly!
Now I'm sure that I should have actually added some text info explaining the game controls and objectives in the game itself. = ( I decided to put the instructions in the game description here and on itch.io but I did not properly highlighted them as it turned out. I'll highlight the text info (it seems I am not permitted to add it in the game now due to the rules, so I will not change the game)! It is really important to the gameplay experience indeed. Thank you for letting me know!
@duke, thank you for your feedback! There're indeed some important issues with the game balance requiring attention. For example, an issue where a squad attacking state resets only on collision, so it does not reset on squad movement stop without collision. It staggers the game balance because the squad gets able to counterattack with a full force and kind of diminishes the initiative bonus of an attacking squad. I can not hot fix them now due to the rules (the game's still playable) but if I decide to continue working on the game post LD, I'll be sure to try to resolve these issues to make the game better. Thank you for letting me know!
@llewellyn-and-michael, thank you for your feedback! There're some game balance issues and [this post](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/bouncy-battlegrounds/more-information-on-bouncy-battlegrounds) may give you more information on the matter! I hope it helps! I can not fix these issues now due to the rules but I think I can mention them as "Known Issues" in the game description here and on itch.io. Thank you for letting me know!
@minusc, @oddsocks, @gorypixels, @p-r, thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you liked it!
@baby-dino-herd, thank you for your feedback! There's an issue with squad attacking power not resetting on movement stop and I think that's what happened the other times you lost many troops colliding at max speed. I think I'll mention these known issues in the description of the game (as far as I understand I can not fix them now due to the rules) and I'll add more tutorial-like information (about King, etc.) as well! Thank you for letting me know!
@blobo, thank you for your feedback! I'll add more information about the game and I'll remember the issues you've mentioned to fix them later (I can't fix them now due to the rules but I'll mention them in the description). Thank you for letting me know!
@n8, @zalop, @kubeec, thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you liked the game!
@delph, thank you for your feedback!
Thank you for the idea on starting the game zoomed out! I think it would help indeed considering the lack of information I put in the game. = )
There're some issues that bring unbalance to the game and which I'm not permitted to fix during the event due to the rules. Thank you for letting me know! I put these known issues in the description.
Oh, I loved the way the little one moves! I didn't expect him to be moving the rolling way! It's very cute! = ) I liked the gameplay and art!
Loved the bird mechanics! They're very smooth and satisfying! Nice animations as well! Didn't really thought much about those little birds in the nest because I was pretty busy having fun flying around! = )
Enjoyed playing the game! I armed my in-game Moon partner with weapons and we had fun together defending me. = ) I liked the time freeze feature being present here. It made the gameplay more tactical, I'd say.
I liked the mood and the narrative! Felt the responsibility for the group! = ) Good we made it to the destination eventually. Remember those who were left behind along the way.
Nice art! Fluffy knows that his tail is fluffy, so he wags it to show off its fluffiness! = )
Looks interesting to me! I liked the gameplay! But unfortunately, I faced some issues while playing and I could not finish the game because of them:
- I've collected all the money in the rooms of the first level but I can neither buy 1 ammo (I have enough money), nor get to the next level (buttons are clickable but they do nothing);
- If I lose, I can not enter the game without reloading the web-page. The "Play Button" Menu won't hide when I click "Play".
I'm on Windows/Opera/WebGL.
@jack-maxwell, there's no problem, I liked the game anyway but thanks, I completed the second level just now!
Simple mechanics, nice game! I would probably like it better if I had a specific objective before me like "Grow 10 crops" or something. It would motivate me to outplay the game. But without objectives this game is very relaxing makes me want to return to it if I need this kind of mood. That's nice!
Fun and challenging game! I liked it! I think it would be nice to be able to skip the intro cutscene when starting again after death. When I lost, I wanted to get back to action as quickly as it could possible be but I was forced to rewatch the intro cutscene and it kept me waiting (the cutscene itself is nicely done, by the way!).
I liked the gameplay and art! Repelling bats with a torch requires some skill which makes it even more fun!
Oh, I'd be glad to be able to use an ability increasing the flashlight area. = ) I liked the gameplay! It's challenging!
Perhaps, I got lucky with cards and that's why I didn't face any problems finishing the game. I liked the mood! Got kind of a Dominion card game feeling while playing it actually.
Awesome game! I really enjoyed the narrative/story, graphics, music, gameplay! Those hero's thoughts aloud (hints) make the game also even more lively! I liked it!
Nice game! It would be nice to have more visualization of a shooting process, so a player could feel more control over it. I was kind of shooting blindly sometimes because I could not tell if my aiming was bad or I just hit an obstacle. Although it added more of a challenge which I liked! = )
Nice gameplay! Could not completely get used to the controls/attack timings, though. My hit box just could not reach the opponent when I attacked too early or too late but that made it challenging for me, so I had more fun winning!
Very atmospheric game! The beauty of effects, music and story mood made it a very enjoyable playing experience!
I liked the concept! The gameplay is fun!
Oh, it's "stressy"! I can feel the stress of the clown through his animations! I like the concept!
I had a lot of fun playing the game! Loved the pixel art, gameplay, music, mood, idea!
I personally think that the mood indicator of dwarf going to leave should be optional, so you could still be able to play without it. I had fun trying my best to memorize the order in which the dwarves entered the inn. I was interested in serving them in that order to show them that I treat them with respect and do not allow myself to skip the dwarf who came early even when my unserved quests count began to grow. He who comes first, drinks first! = )
Great game, great entry!
I liked the gameplay and the traps puzzles, so to speak! Tom has a very risky job as far as I can see! Clients should appreciate his efforts! = )
I failed the king eventually but it was a fun protection process! I liked the simplicity of animations (you don't need your hand to move to attack, you just need the sword to move to attack, right?)! = )
I liked the gameplay! My hands are sweaty, by the way! = ) Took the eggs safety too close to heart!
I had fun playing the game and outthinking the incoming creatures! The art is beautiful!
Nice game testing my mouse wielding skills! I liked it! I don't know if it's an issue but my cursor looked as a shovel only during tutorial. It had a default cursor appearance in the challenges after tutorial. I just thought it would look like a shovel in the levels, too.
I liked the gameplay! And I loved the music! It's "The Long March" tune as I found out. While playing I thought I'd better protect those people dying because of the monster attack. It seems like a lot of people died there but my magic powers could be enough to kill the monster. = )
Fun game! I liked the gameplay! And I saw the busket at the end, by the way! I threw the egg far to the left and the egg never collided with the ground as it seems, so the camera kept going and I saw that busket! Couldn't get a chance to see the busket the other way because it's a hard game for me. = )
I liked the gameplay! It requires some skill to shoot precisely which makes it very satisfying experience when you actually learn to shoot better!
Simple but very fun! Music is nice for the mood. Keep calm and kill bugs!
I liked the concept with Risk! Tight controls! Simple but beautiful Pixerl Art!
Yeah, it's becoming more challenging after stage 1. I liked the multitasking of a hero trying to keep the fire lit as well as fighting back the ghosts. Requires some prioritizing in mind. = )
I loved the mood! Felt kind of like Frodo in Shelob's lair I imagine! = ) I didn't expect from me to empathize that rectangle so much!
I liked the gameplay and mood of the game! It was a little bit stressy experience sometime (was in a rush to the plants!) but calming music helped. = ) WASD keys were not working for me (I'm on Windows/Opera playing in browser), so I used arrow keys and had fun playing the game! Nice game!
I really liked the game! Tried my best to save those people. I found interesting to notice that they'll never know that an Angel is trying to protect them. They might think they're just lucky to not get hit without any thought on stopping the warfare.
Is it a player inventory management game? I liked it! It's a teamwork as I see it. I handle the hero's inventory, the hero handles the fighting. Would be fun to see it the other way around where the AI would handle my inventory and I would handle the fighting. = )
