The idea is very interesting. More mini games could have been an option as well as starting a game with a key (like space) not with the mouse.

The idea is very interesting. More mini games could have been an option as well as starting a game with a key (like space) not with the mouse.
Really liked the game. Spamming tanks is a really good way to win :)
Nice idea! The jumping is a bit too fast, cannot dodge anything with this.
this game has potential. Got stuck in the dark green area at the beginning and sometimes there are some clipping problems
I can see where this is going. Nicea idea, could use more execution
highscore 19700 :) Never had to create new snowballs, maybe a bit more balancing needed.
very innovative and you stick to the theme
Nice game ,like the zoom effect. The Instructions could be a bit more specific, as well as some better graphics :)
Relly good game, don't have any complaints or suggestions :)
yeah, that is the whole game on one tv screen :)
- floating point error: yeah, I noticed that, but it was after the deadline, so I had to leave it in :)
- drag from hero on store was also a bug I saw a bit too late
- I tried to include a "right click to sell item"-button, but for some strange reason it did not work all the time, so I removed it from the final build. One less feature is also one less bug :)
- The server reset is quite instant, yes. Had the problem that something was not stable enough and after a few hours, a bug prevent dungeon progression. Within the two hours timeframe, you get way less bugs.
- The orange equipment is a 1 in 1000 chance to occur. Really rare :)
Perhaps I will work on this game a bit more. It really needs more feedback for the player.
really good game! despite its being a simple mechanic, it is well executed and polished. One really minor complaint: once the game starts, the camera should zoom to the table.
Graphics are good. Had to play for a moment before I got the Gameplay. Sometimes you get stuck in the wall. Quite hard too, because you got no real health.
Like the game. I don't know what the enemies are, but they won't get the presents! :) tower range is a bit small at the beginning
Who is in the other room? :) Nice game, jumping is really hard, or I am too slow for jump and runs :)
Good first try. You should show the controls in the start screen (or here in the description), don't think a controls.txt is the best option :) The jumping physics are a bit weird.
in the pong screen, once the ball is getting too fast, it glitches through the paddle. And I don't think the space invaders part works correctly. Otherwise, its a start
Nice work! At the beginning it is quite easy, maybe the difficulty there could be a bit harder, but in the end it gets really challenging.
It is a very interesting concept. Unfortunately, I could not tell what I hit when I hit it, so I did not get far.
Yeah, throwing cats is fun!
like the old tv monitor graphics overlay. Game is fun, although I never saw sumo ringer with bombs ;-)
I think the basic idea is interesting, though the random generated levels did cause a lot of confusion for me. Ditch the double jump and make a variable normal jump, then it will have a better flow
not bad for a first game. a bit more of everything for the next ludum dare and it will be fine :)
Cool game! One thing I found really distracting were the labels flying everywhere, where games like game dev tycoon used smaller balls.
the game could use some more graphics. I like the smiley faces, they provide good feedback.
Very nice game. It has a ton of features for only 48 hours. Obviously you distracted us other developers by streaming the whole time ;-)
Nice game! If it had an AI enemy and rebindable keys (on my german keyboard z and y are changed, so player1 has a hard time) it would be even better :) But I really like it.
Really like this idea. Everything is better with metal ;-) One complaint: When I use the riffkey, it doesnt always spawn a riff-projectile. This makes the game a bit unresponsive and frustrating, if you cant shoot at the enemy when you press the button.
Nice Idea, even with an intro :-) Opening the inventory with the button could also be done via mousebutton, especially since the player is a bit too large for the ludum dare window. Other than that, nice one
thats a great idea and after I had learned who was friend and foe, it was really fun, too :-) Really good interpretation of the theme.
Nice game. I think the theme could be a bit more present, after all you shoot fireballs with another name, but this is just nitpicking :) I do have one complaint though: The game gets easier the further you get. After about 2m points, just stay in the middle and hold Space to win (with the exception of the two lane attack at the end). Firing at so many lanes at the same time while the enemies switch lanes often makes it very easy to hit them.
Worked for me. A really amazing concept, I love this weapon mechanic (especially with the two yoyo action later in the game).
I really like this game :) Don't have any complains.
I hope no animals were harmed during the making of this game :) Had a good laugh, and now I know why the Giraffe in my game is so angry, being used as a baseball bat in your game...
Nice Entry. I really like the mood, though the gameplay lacks a bit in depth.
really like the art style. I do however have one logical question. Why do you shoot at the treasure if the treasure comes towards you anyway? :-) Fun game nevertheless
Solid Attempt. I like the background music, makes me feel sleepy :-) I don't like how the screen moves, I can't see where I am going. Also, I find it very hard to aim at the sheep because I need to run towards them to fire in the direction.
The jump mechanic is really nice :) I didnt get why I have to lick stuff... the music is a bit repetitive :)
Ah the old days :) It works surprisingly well once you read how to find the ingame help and that the world is round :)
Solid attempt :) I like the concept, though I found the easiest way to play was to shoot as fast as possible and hope the projectiles will hit something.
Nice Idea! Gameplay is a bit random though, my zombies sometimes seem to be well fed and are not going after the humans, but it gets better in later stages.
@hercludes yes, exactly what this game is meant to be. a solid 1-2 minutes of funny action :-)
Yeah, killing Zombies with Balls is always fun :-) Somehow I missed the third weapon, only found 1 and 3.
A good puzzle game. Two things I'd like to address: The pistol bullet is 1x1 px size, alsmost not visible on screen. And due to the camera angle, your character is way bigger than the hitbox (which is only the feet), causing some problems for me in the later screen with lots of lasers and stuff.
Funny game :-) People flying off remind me a bit of super smash bros. And a towel is really an unconvential weapon. One thing: I wouldn't put the Instructions into "About", just show them before starting a Level.
Nice game! Graphics are cool and everybody loves gravity guns :)
Nice idea and interesting weapons. Somehow the jump and run part felt a bit weird (never seen a doctor climbing up walls).
Solid Attempt. One thing which I dont think its good is having a weapon thats shoots in a random direction in this kind of game (especially at the start). This is really frustrating for the player. One more minor complaint: Sometimes I could not tell the difference between background and enemy.
Solid Attempt. Found it a bit hard to tell if the tank was dead at the beginning. And I really had problems in the second level, were the camera was moving slower than me, so I fell into the pit way too often.
Its a very hard game, I could not even get to the totems without dying, maybe I'm simply bad at shooting :) One thing: In a twin stick shooter, its really important for me to have control over my character. Here the character floated around when not moving, making it even harder to hit anything.
Really nice game! Easy to understand and very good music, too.
Nice game, a really good theme and matching art styles. Sometimes the jump&run part feels a bit unresponsive.
Nice game :) Only one very minor complaint: The rematch text is not really visible after a match because of the buffer overflow
Nice game! Got no complaints at all :)
It took me a moment to realise whats going on, but then it was really cool :) Found very few minions but many enemies, maybe an indicator where the next minion is would be nice. Music is also really good.
A solid attempt. I had trouble knowing what colors does what (and scrolling down to the description while the game is running is not a good idea ;-)), and sometimes the enemies hit you multiple times in one tick. The character model and the walk cycle are great though.
Somehow the Unity Web Player did not launch in Firefox, so I got the Windows DL Version.
Nice Game, quite hard to hit the rabbits sometimes. Unfortunately I did not see the difference between a Tool and a Utensil, and what impact they had on the game. Other than that, it was fun :)
Ok, that was different than what I expected from the screenshots :) Nice work. I'd like to have the camera position in the middle, but thats the only thing that bothers me a bit in this game.
Nice idea :) I found the knowledge tab to be less effective due to the 1/26 chance to guess the ultra effective letter (then you just have to remember it)
Nice Game! Controls were fine using the controller. Graphics are cool, pacing is right and enough content for 48 hours, although a powerup would have been nice (or blocking the opponents disk with your own)
DIE you basic shapes! Nice idea and funny, though the attack felt a bit sluggish/unresponsive.
Sorry, game does not load for me (Win7). Just shows the pizza screen.
Really nice idea! The UI is a bit clumsy, but when the everything flies around the screen, thats great :)
The graphics are really great for a 48hour game. I've watched the livestream for a while, as always quite interesting.
I do have some complaints concerning the game design, because while being ok for two days, it does not match the graphical quality. For me personally, it could have a bit more variety in gameplay. More weapons, enemies, a boss etc.
Maybe I'm a bit too strict with my opinion, but at the 10+ ludum dare attempt and with your experience, its just another level :-)
Very nice game! The graphics suits the game really well. I just missed the hint how to get more money at first :)
Sorry did not load for me
cool idea, but I miss a real twist at the end. Something like you getting hooked when you reach the end.
After finding out how to move the hordes (and I did miss the instructions page, too), it is actually quite a hard game. Except if you hide around a corner (hehe).
196425, I am a monster! Nice game, got a bit repetitive after level 10 though. Luckily, the planet was very crowded with people, so I never had problems with health. The music could have been a bit louder, compared to the sound effects. Really cool graphics!
I like the idea (I made a similar game with a 2D topdown perspective), but I did not manage to sink any ship. And it was a bit hard to tell if I was under or over the sea.
Nice game :-) I got lost somewhere in the second(?) level, and my weapon was taken from me. Maybe I dropped it, who knows :-)
Did not get to the end, died before :( Could be a bit more non-repetitive, but cool anyways
I like the idea, but I found it hard to tell where I am on the z-axis.
G and H are the cheat keys (or my debug keys) :-) I left them active to see if someone finds them ;-)
nice game :-) I did not survive 10 rounds :(
Nice game. One time I ran out of enemies, having to wait 45 seconds for the next spawn. Could be a bit faster paced.
Yeah, I am the destroyer! Liked the physics, reminded me of mario galaxy and that other planet gravitation game... forgot the name...
really cool idea! I could imagine a mobile puzzle game with this. Also, good audio :-)
The light effects are cool :) Could be a bit more content, but otherwise solid entry.
Very cool idea! I also want more cookies :-)
grats to your first compo :-) I see the idea behind the game. liked the perspective, I felt like I was the monster.
The tutorial felt a bit slow, but the guardsense feature was great :-) I could not figure out how much health I had left, but it was a fun experience :-)
Loved that the music actually changed depends on what part of the band you throw over the cliff. As an idea, a win or lose condition like "kill all trumpet players" would be cool.
I like the idea. Could have a bit more gameplay elements, like boats you have to click multiple times to sink
the hitbox collision is very unforgiving. good for your first entry though :-)
Damn, I lost the fight in the end. Need more warriors... Cool game!
I really like the idea. The kids should go into an alarm state when they see you, not just game over.
Cool game, liked the graphics. A few more hit indicator on the terrain would have been cool
Simple but very funny game :-)
cool idea :-) After getting burned twice, I understood what not to tell ;-)
Nice and quite funny :-) I like these rougelikes
nice game! Reminds me of the old SNES helicopter games. I would not mind the very tiny hitboxes, if the target window would be a lot bigger :-)
Cool game! The graphics could use a bit more work, but the gameplay is good
cool theme. Why do I get points for running over trees? Also, these kids need a ski instructor! unless the yeti ate him, of course...
Yep, that's a bullet hell :-) The difficulty curve could be flatter, you get hit hard pretty much right at the start. Maybe introduce more towerslots later in the game, start with one in the middle, then expand. Like Plants vs. Zombies did it with the lanes.
cool game, very complex for such a short timespan.
Cool game. I like the mechanic with the time warping to go around obstacles and enemies. Too bad it doesn't seem to have waypoints, when you fall down somewhere it is always game over.
Nice idea, could be a bit longer :-)
I like the idea of the different terrains based on the cat. Also I like the cat animation. What's a bit weird are the controls, especially on slopes the cat floats.
Cool puzzle game. I really like it :-)
Very nice game! I really like the graphics and the instructor before each level. It gets really challenging with the shape shift ability. Feels a bit like doodle jump turned 90 degrees.
Really hard game (even with glider controls), but I like the concept. It reminds me a bit of the old sonic games, where you also switch between ball and hedgehog :-)
Nice game and good audio. At first I thought the game could be a bit more forgiving with the shape placement, but now I can imagine that it is fine the way it is. Maybe just add an indicator where the shape did not fit when you lose.
Nice game! I had problems at first because I could not figure out that the "Splash"-Icon meant I need to match the color, not any shape. But once I figured it out, I made it to level 6. It gets pretty hard at this stage :-)
Cool game. I really like the idea and the implementation. Two things I found a bit hard: First, no "please reload" indicator. This cost me a few minutes at the beginning. And it would be cool to know your next shape (like in tetris), so you can position yourself a bit better.
I like this take on the classic lemmings concept :-)
Nice game. I was a bit overwhelmed by the interface at the beginning. Actually I didn't think I've figured everything out yet ;-)
Interesting concept. It starts a bit slow, and maybe there could be more buildings and different land tiles.
I was in a trance sorting trash the last 10 minutes :-) Really cool sounds and graphics.
Great music, graphics and animations. Also a good concept, I'd like to see more of it in the future :-)
Very cool game. I like the graphics with the vibrant colors and effects. Also very unique game mechanic, well done!
Nice graphics! The gameplay could be a bit more challenging.
Really great graphics! Simple but motivating gameplay.
Nice game! I like the random(?) generated leveltiles and the different wizards. The camera could be zoomed out a bit more, I'm getting hit an awful lot from arrows from the edge of the screen. But that's only a very minor issue.
Interesting idea. It's a little bit hard to get behind the concept at first.
I like the idea. The text could be a bit quicker to display, but maybe this intensifies the experience. Unfortunately, I really suck at memory games :-)
Nice game with a really interesting concept. Could be a bit more fleshed out, and the collision detection did not always work. But for less than 12 hours, that's impressive.
I like the game. Good use of the theme. I had problems to poke the fish in the post-compo web version (poking didnt work at all, worked in the compo version), perhaps there's a bug?
Nice game! It's fun to watch the settlement grow, like it was in populous :-)
Cool game for such a limited time :-) I really like the simple controls. With a few more shapes and additional level objects, it can be really great.
Nice idea. It's a pretty hard game, my best highscore was 5. It's getting fast pretty quick, could be a bit slower to be able to reach higher scores earlier :-)
Nice idea. It would be cool if the camera follows the player, especially when the player start shape is not on the screen when the level starts.
Cool game! It's simple, but its fun nonetheless. The only minor complaint I have is that it's difficult to click the floor tile directly above a cube. But that's nitpicking ;-)
Interesting idea, unfortunately the sound was very quiet.
Really cool game! The movement animation was a bit too shakey, but otherwise I liked this factory simulator a lot :-) Btw, Burning yourself advances the level, yeah!
The graphics are neat :-) It's unfortunate there is no gameplay in it, would have loved to kill some of those other guys.
It's a good deck building game. The endurance mechanic can be a bit unfair sometimes, but with a little more balancing (or maybe I need to play more), it could be great :-)
As usual, a very good stream and a huge distraction (in a positive sense) when trying to code something myself!
Very cool game with excellent physics. Would like to play more!
I like the title! :-) Good idea with the different abilities. Somehow I got on spikes without the ability to get out.
it's a bit difficult to get into at the start, but once you've done it, its really good :-)
Grats to your first LD :-) Cool idea. You could cheat the physics a bit because of the collision detection, otherwise quite fun
Great entry! Cool graphics, good game design. Overall nice game!
grats to your first LD :-) Nice game and interesting concept.
Cool game idea. Could be a bit longer :-)
Grats to your first LD :-) Nice game. I like the mechanic with the light switch, this suited the theme very well. But isn't a captured politican as good as a captured reptilian? :-)
Grats to your first LD :-) It's a nice idea. After a while, it's getting really fast, which is cool. Sometimes I got stuck because as the ball, I could not move backwards, but that may be my own fault :-)
funny game :-) Once the tutorial was over, everything got crazy a bit too quick. Also, if I don't have anymore metal, am I stuck at the bottom?
Interesting idea, simple but compelling.
That was a great experience! Liked everything, no complaints here :-)
very cool game! well polished and quite difficult, especially for non-english people :-)
I like the setting and the overall game experience. The only real struggle I had was trying to figure out what I had selected in the menu, some kind of inverted color would have been nice. Or maybe it is a bug that it didn't show? (Using win10 64)
nice game, liked the dog :-) Just avoid blind jumps, especially when the player is that fast (which I really liked)
The concept rocks, and with a few minor tweaks, it might be really great. Liked it!
The hints feature was a good idea, otherwise I would be stuck after the third respawn point :-) Cool entry, especially for the first time! Maybe the controls could be a bit more predictable.
thats a cool idea. Too bad tabbing does not work, especially because it opens the url input in chrome instead. Had to constantly click in the game window again because I always tab when working with a CLI :-)
cool game, liked it. The ladders are a bit hard to climb, because you fall off if you go left or right on them.
unfortunately I can't get the game to launch, it crashes when I open it ("HLH is not working anymore")
This is a cool idea! Beat the last level by hiding in a corner :p Maybe add some more gameplay elements like AI-slavers, or a AOE whip and running shoes :p
That's a very good use of the theme. I like the placing mechanics, reminds me of building water slides in rollercoaster tycoon. Too bad that the water does not flow in the end, that would have been nice. Also great music!
cool graphics, liked it. Controls are a bit floaty, but works well with the overall style.
It's funny I actually thought the time limits might be too easy :-)
CHEAT MODE
I've added the "Cheat" in the description, press N to skip to the next Level.
I've added an easy mode for anyone who wants to experience all levels with an expanded time limit. You can also skip levels by pressing N.
At first it was a bit hard to understand what to do and how the game works, so maybe some tooltips would be nice. Otherwise its a cool little game with good core mechanics.
this is a really hard game! I'm only missing the ability to strafe and maybe some walls to disable sniping enemies. Cool game!
Really cool art style and a great experience. Maybe use some tooltips for the different buttons, sometimes I did not know what button build which item.
I was not worthy of the blade :( Cool idea, maybe the hit indication could be a bit more visible, most of the time I just stabbed everything as fast as I could.
I like the graphics, reminds me of the old arena shooters :-) It would be cool if you could see the projectile, and some of the enemies were not killable (maybe because they are in my team?, got killed by touching them though)
When you think you've seen it all, along comes a game where you shoot people from a pyramid :-) Nice idea! Gameplay wise could have been a bit more variety, but overall good game for a second entry.
Haha that was a lot of fun! Maybe to add some "gameplay" elements, you could rate the state of the machine and incorporate this for the next iteration. My machine ended up just grinding the left pillar, killing everyone with the debries :-)
Cool idea! At first I thought the controls were a bit limited, but after a while you get used to it. If you add the ability to go left, too, you could change the concept in something like Luftrausers with air gliding mechanics :-)
this tilted view was a bit hard to control. Also an option to flip up and down movement would be nice. Otherwise great entry, lots of fun :-)
Cool idea! The only problem I had was that I died a few times before I could buy anything. Maybe the enemies should be a bit easier in the early game.
I really like this very old school style. It's very easy to lost though, maybe include a map (outside of the actual game) to make it a bit more accesible. Otherwise good job!
It's very hard to follow the stream when you try to stream and do your own entry, but the after-submit partystream was great :-)
That said, I like the game you made there. It might be a bit too long for a LD entry, but the tech behind it and the amount of content is really cool!
After a few tries I understood the concept :-) A short tutorial screen might be useful. Good graphics and sound. The world might be a bit too big, perhaps a smaller one would increase the fun.
Whoever bought those batteries should switch stores, they are almost empty when put in! But it is a really nice game, wasn't expecting this when I started it.
Cool idea! I like that looping feature, really innovative. The ship could be a bit better at the start, or the enemies take less bullets, as it is very hard to clear the loops before upgrading the ship.
Grats to yout first LD game! Very well done! I like the graphics, they are pretty good. Also, the quicktime game is neat. Is there any way to get the first part higher than 30% of the bar? I was pressing the spacebar as fast as I can. The shooting mechanic could use a bit of work.
I found one gamebreaker: I was in the quicktime minigame (spacebar sequence) when a Gangster came in and tried to shoot me. I manage to kill him, but the bullets had pushed me away from the table. I could not move anymore and no buttons worked.
Very hard game, but in a motivating way :-) Reminds me of Super Meat Boy.
Interesting concept. Somehow Z did not work as an input for me, ENTER did. I like the look, maybe add some details. Good work!
I really like the concept. It's simple but challenging, which is good :-) The only very minor thing I noticed was the slow movement of the character. This could be improved a bit.
Nice graphics! And the puzzle is really hard, or I'm just not used to thinking anymore ;-) Good entry!
The graphics are great! I might say, this is the biggest dwarf I have seen in a long time! :p The Zombie Hitbox could be a bit bigger when shot from above or below.
Very innovative, liked it! Could use a bit more content at the later floors, but the idea is great. This could be a cool mobile game for example
Good Idea! You could even increase the difficulty a bit by only using one red/blue guy. With two, it can be too easy since you can triangulate the room pretty well when both turn blue.
I think I've managed to fix the infinite fight bug. Please report if you still getting it.
I managed to brute force through the first two security questions for ai see ku, but then I had to actually play the game :p Cool little adventure, very convenient art style.
Great Artstyle, loved it! Although I must say I got dizzy quite fast with all that turning, and this house is a real maze! :-)
Whew, that was stressful (in a good way) in the later levels. The only real complain I have is the sticky walls. Going Diagonal should move the player along the wall, not have him stuck against it.
Grats to your first compo entry :-) Sometimes the game can be a bit unforgiving, I had Ghosts spawn almost directly at me. And you are getting trapped by the bullets. These are only minor things though, nice entry!
It became clear after reading the controls section :-) Nice game idea. Maybe add a speed slider. Especially when dealing with impatient ludum dare people, you want to get to the more interesting parts faster. That's only a very minor thing a noticed, other than that, good work!
Cool idea! Simple but I had still had a good time playing it. What I found a bit problematic was that you can't go through black areas anymore, which sometimes traps you after a few seconds.
The interface is a bit unintuitive, a advance day button would be great (or maybe I simply missed it). The game itself was good, I just had the feeling that I don't have that much control.
JumpScare! Starting the game proved a bit difficult, I is not the best key to start a game :-) Enjoyed the game, it was really scary :-)
very good artwork! Really impressive for 48 hours. Unfortunately I got stuck when on day 8 when I somehow kicked the chair away, and then it would not let me complete my task? Other than that, it is great!
Very well done! Once I got a hold of the controls (a dedicated destroy input and a go back selection would be great), I had a really good time playing the game. Although I think my 1484 highscore may not be that good...
Interesting concept. Somehow sometimes my input did not register correctly, I'm pretty sure I've typed it correctly and in time
More an experience than a "game", but a really beautiful one! The labyrinth in the later stages can get a bit tedious. But it is like playing in a music video, very cool :-)
Good entry. I am really bad at those puzzle games, so thanks for including a guide :-) Nicely done and fun to play
Unfortunately I could not find any hint on how to play the game. The graphics are good and I can see what the theme is, but I was not able to see how my actions affect anything, besides planting down a few building(?) and two guys(?) running around the planet.
That's a really nice game! Graphics, UI (a bit overloaded, but still good) and the music are very well done.
I love the graphics, this black and white really works well here. The gameplay is also solid, but it is very slow paced. I had to push the run button all the time, and the upgrade materials were a bit scarce around the world (I restarted a couple of times). Nevertheless a cool entry, I had fun playing the game :-)
I liked the game. It could use a bit of balancing to make the difficuly curve more fitting, but overall a good entry. The UI also could be more styled, but it fits the job.
I think the look is great and totally fitting for the type of game. The UI on the other hands could need some improvement, making the game more tedious than it needs to be.
The game is nice. I do have however a problem with the game feedback. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything, or if the buttons on the bottom actually work (the only way to see it is the cash that decreases). With a bit more feedback from the game, it would be a very cool entry, as the concept is rock solid.
@budaniel if you time the meat so the indicator is exactly in the middle of the green area, it will add a second star to the sides rating. I just hadn't have the time to include a visual indicator for it, so I left it in as a secret.
@lefaygames yes, that is me doing the sound :-)
I've updated the web version, it now contains a short tutorial image. The downloadble version (the compo version) has the tutorial video integrated, but that was too large for using in the webgl version.
By the way, I do plan to keep working on the game, because I think it has potential, especially as a VR game.
Great game! Although I missed the four elephants standing on the turtle ;-) I really loved the option to zoom in and look closely at the people living on the world. The turtle itself could need a bit of a speed boost, especially in the end. Great entry!
Cool entry. I do have to say sometimes it is hard to click on an object, because there is one directly in front of the camera blocking everything. Also even on easy I find myself missing infected objects even if I have lots of nanobots and don't see any black ones slipping by. The graphics are great, the depth perception is really cool.
A simple but good game, I like it! The voiceover is great, however I had minor problems with the controls.
I like the graphics. The handdrawn look something you don't see everytime. It has some drawbacks though, as I put one of the cities into the ocean two times, thinking it was a forest. Unfortunately the game does not tell you how you failed, so you only learn from trying. One little thing: I would redo the main menu to have play game on top and quit on bottom. Otherwise really nice entry
The starfleet safety inspector has a big issue with the stairs, there are no handles! :-) Nice entry, especially for the first try. Maybe add a few lights, it was a bit hard to see anything near the side doors.
Interesting game. Naturally I forgot to read the instructions and was a bit irritated why you only have 10 bullets, but then I found the other attack. Controls are good for the most part, though the jetpack could need a bit more finetuning. Overall a good entry.
The only thing that this game needs are exploding dead moles :-) Otherwise it is great fun, challenging, looks cool and has very good sound effects and music. Great job!
Well, I am useless as a powerful god, but I liked the game :-) Sometimes I wished the game would show me how I failed that time, so a bit more feedback would be nice. It reminded me of Reigns, balancing the needs of the people without going into extremes.
I like the idea, having to find something on another planet and jumping to others to find it. However, from the technical side, there are a few things which really made it hard to find the object. First, the controls were unresponsive and on teleporter planets, the player got stuck on all edges. The boost could use a bit more power, but thats finetuning. Second, the random placement of the planets was a bit of a problem, because on my first try, one planet spawned on the tutorial text, making it unreadable and I didn't know what to do.
Interesting idea. Could be a bit more fleshed out. Had a good time fiddling around once I understood how it worked.
Very unique idea, loved it! Good mechanics, while simple, they worked very well. The only very minor issue I had was with the controls, the plug felt quite sluggish. Otherwise great concept and entry. Oh and I managed to hang the dude multiple times ;-)
Nice game, solid tower defence mechanics. I like the theme, that was quite unique.
It took me a few seconds to get the concept, especially because you should not use the power in the first room. Maybe add an arrow here instead :-) Otherwise really nice concept and extremely challenging.
Cool idea! I like the mechanics, which were a bit complicated at first, maybe add an ingame tutorial. Otherwise I had fun playing the game.
I like the mechanics, it is an interesting take on the theme. The graphics could use some work, and the static indicator is misplaced under the red block in the first level.
Nice game, liked the jetpack mechanics. The first levels were quite easy, which isnt a bad thing :-) The controls could be a bit more direct, as the guy felt a bit too floaty.
Nice idea, well implemented. I like the strategic approach you have to take to succeed more than a few weeks. The howtoplay image was a bit overwhelming at first, but in the end it was not that difficult to understand.
Nice one! I like having to figure out how to optimize the possibilities. It could be use a bit less text if possible, otherwise nice entry
I like the idea and the implementation was solid. The screen transition could be faster, otherwise good entry.
Pretty good animation and graphics. Gameplay-wise it is a very hard game, found myself at the game over screen way too often. Otherwise nice entry.
Haha, fun! I want to select a solar car, can I trade my horn for it?
Interesting idea. I like the ship movement and the funny pink enemies. Solid mechanics as well. Some things in this game were very weird. Also the music was too low.
I loved playing EADER! Haha :-) Nice idea, reminded me of Reign, where you also have to manage the mood of the different areas. I was confused when I lost with 15% religion still in my favor. Maybe they should revolt when you reach 0% approval. The graphics were really good!
Interesting idea, and even multiple game modes. I like the classic one, because the cloud mode is a bit boring after a few rounds. Nice entry.
very nice graphics. Took a bit to understand all the meters you have to manage, but in the end it was a nice experience.
The bunny tripped, not my fault! :-) Nice idea, very good graphics, well implemented. Could use a bit more gameplay, otherwise good entry.
I really like the mechanics in this game. Very simple but challenging. The pace could be a bit slower, so it would be easier to steer the ship, but I had a blast playing the game.
A very unique experience and welcome change to the many classic games.
The windows/Fullscreen Toggle didnt work for me. Otherwise nice entry, good graphics and sound, and well thought included theme. It could start a bit faster (more enemies early on), and I had trouble finding myself on the minimap :-)
Nice game, fun concept and tricky questions. Also good graphics, but unfortunately a bit underused. Good entry, almost made it to the end, I think...
Wow that game is hard, haven't managed to activate more than 4 switches. Otherwise a solid entry, nice game.
Good entry! Matching graphics and good audio. Gameplay is solid and executed well. I was a bit puzzled by the altar first, killing a lot of people and not knowing if this was the right way. But I managed to get some keys before dying. The map could be a bit smaller, but still a solid entry.
I feel like a mouse in a labyrinth :-) Interesting concept, I like it. The yellow cheese graphics color could differ a bit more from the background color, but that's the only issue I had when playing the game.
The idea is good, I can see where you were heading. Playing the game was a bit problematic though. The sheep are scattered with a lot of enemies in the way, maybe shrink down the map and reduce the number of enemies to make the game a bit faster. I never managed to collect more than a few sheep before I was hit too many times.
I like the game, it is a cool twist on the classic snake. I managed to get a score of 18. It starts out quite easy, but at 10 people, the difficulty rises (in a good way). I don't like the background colors, they make it hard to see people and enemies sometimes. Otherwise good entry!
Cool game! You did very well to incoporate the theme and it was fun to play. Also plus for making a html5 web version, always nice to be able to play without installing something. The controls, especially the hit detection could be a bit better and after the first wave I was unsure what to do now, since the pickup mechanic is not explained. But I figured it out. My final score was 50, is that any good? :-)
Nice entry. I like the premise of the game, finding stuff for sacrifice. Some cool 3d models in there, too. On the gameplay side, it is really hard, I could not keep up for long. Maybe slow down the sacrifice counter and add another layer like obstacles to improve the game. Not a bad game though :-)
The music is very good. Gameplay works, however it is a bit frustrating to start from the very beginning each time . But maybe this is a sacrifice the player has to make ;-)
Thanks for all the comments :-)
@ofirma85 Yes, sometimes it is better to avoid them. But there are other instances were killing the enemy is much easier than trying to get around, for example when they are blocking a sun or trying to bomb you :-)
@selina @jakobthequizguy I tried to make the snowman feel like a real snowman, where the inertia at the start is also quite large. However for the next platformer, I will make the controls a bit more responsive :-)
@andrea I had originally planned to just use piles of snow, but it seemed more fitting to see the casualties of the camel invasion ;-)
@frank-gevaerts yes that is actually something I will change for the next LD. If the game has levels, add a skip option in the menu. It seems counterintuitive from a designer's point, but in a jam you want people to be able to see the whole game.
@keksa interesting, must be a bug then. The snowman should not trigger when the player is on full health. As for the jumping, that's a problem with the way I've setup the physics in Unity. With more time, I would created some workarounds for intersecting physics colliders, add better ground detection and so on. But in a 48 hour game jam, there must be some rough edges. Next time I'll definetly won't do a platformer again, too much work to get the player movement right :-) But I wanted to do it at least once :-)
That is a great entry! I love the concept, very clever and good use of the theme. Graphics are matching, too, only missing some nice audio tunes. Also, the controls and the physics are off sometimes. But a very good game, had a lot of fun playing it.
So much blood in the end! I like how the blood cubes stay, making the field really ... well bloody in the end. Also, the nosferatu-shaped enemies often tried to chat with one another, making it easy to kill them (I think it is a pathfinding bug, but I found it positive for the gameplay). The only minor issue I have is the balance, the game feels a bit too easy. In the end I managed to kill 45 enemies for 508 blood in 186, and only died because I wrote this review ;-) But better make a game too easy for a gamejam than too hard, so I guess it is ok. Nice entry!
This reminds me of the Resident Evil 1 Tank controls. The Iso View is nice, and the gameplay is solid, however sometimes the people I tried to rescue got stuck on corners, and the time limit is really hard. Good entry!
Day 17: While typing this comment, the bar closed down. Still shopping and playing at the arcade. Lost my family on the first day, cant sleep since the second day, no food and no job. But also no chores, yeah! Just shop and play all day :-) Great concept, nice graphics, even with a day night cycle! The first days feel a bit rushed due to all the bars going down. But once you settled for some of the rooms, it becomes very easy. Nice game! And with completing this review, I didnt went to the shops anymore and now I'm dead in the arcade after 30 days and 8 hours :-)
Great game! I really liked the mood, the art, the music, all that fit quite well. Sometimes the text went away too fast (I used itch.io web version) but I guess it wasnt a problem. Really good entry!
Edited this comment because it seems the black bars are intended :-) I just rated the graphics, which are quite good! I did not rate the other categories because: When creating a game in unity, always apply Time.deltatime to the inputs (and adjust the speed values accordingly). That way you get the same speed on every computer. I'm running a 144hz monitor, so the game got really fast to the point where I could not control anything anymore.
It took a moment to find out what to in the first level. After I eventually did not create sheepblocks right infront of me, I had fun playing it :-)
Cool idea. I like the upgrades on level up, that was a nice suprise. Also good implementation of the sacrifice mechanic. Two minor things I did not like: Sound effects are missing, which would be very nice in this genre. And the restriction of the play field feels strange. Maybe add a border graphic (some kind of force field maybe) to show the edges of the game area. Nice entry :-)
This is a really cool concept! You show allow more categories to be voted, for example your audio is fitting (even if there is no music). I had some problems with jumping, maybe the ground detection is a bit buggy. But with enough volunteers, I was able to beat the levels. Also good idea to have a level select on the main screen, especially for game jams.
Really nice game, one of the best I've played so far! Amazing for your first LD! Had a lot of fun playing it. The difficulty between the levels varies a bit, but overall a great entry. Too bad you used some of the gameplay mechanics only in the last level, I would have played 50 levels :-)
Nice entry. The swarm AI was good most of the time, only one of the 4 teams managed to screw up and hit the same block for 60 seconds :-) I won with 10 to 7 to 3! Maybe the tutorial should also be mouse controlled, since the game is. And it was very tiny in the zoomed out mode, maybe increase the size of the game objects a bit without having to zoom in and out all the time. Good game!
Nice entry. I like the ship graphics and especially the indicators on the bottom, they provide a good feedback to the player. The game could be a bit harder, in the beginning it is quite easy to dodge the rockets. Also, I managed to get hit once, and then after a while I saw the "You made it" screen wth time left 00:51 and 4 engines. Does this mean I finished the game or it is a bug? Because in the description you mentioned two minutes :-) Some spacey music could also spice up the game.
ah ok, did not notice the top left corner at all :-)
Great game! The presentation, the audio, the visuals are all excellent. Maybe having the option as mentioned above to select the name from the book would be cool, but that is only a minor complaint. Had fun playing it, and of course murdered the wrong person on the first try :-)
I like the art and the sound, they match really well. The gameplay is solid, however the hit detection response on enemies is either not there or I'm missing enemies and hit the wall behind them :-)
Grats to your first LD Game. I bet it was a blast :-) Your game is very ambitious, and for a first game, it is very good! It could use some highlights for Parts that you can use, but the graphics are cool and it had a good feel to it.
Nice bullet hell shooter. I like the snappy controls and the clear graphics. The colliding bullets from the enemies caught me more than once :-) Unfortunately I ran into an issue about 10 waves in where the enemy and I wasn't hit by bullets anymore. Also, it is quite easy if you just spray diagonally between waves :-) Nice entry
I love a game where you can missile spam enemies :-) Maybe a bug, but I could not lose, the enemies could not destroy the keep. Had fun blasting them away though... :-) Nice entry
Really nice entry! I thought the first level could be a bit shorter, but at the second level, my chicken got run over almost immediately :-) Fitting graphics, and a nice UI, too!
Interesting idea. Could use a more challenging aspect, since it is pretty easy to avoid the rain drops. Maybe add multiple at once or faster.
It's like flying a real drone, I keep collecting the debris :-) It's a real challenging but fun game. Very good graphics!
Nice entry. I like the depth of the game, very much to do and upgrade here. After building 4 tree planters, I could not keep up with the trees growing :-) The axe mechanic is a bit stressful for the fingers after 5 minutes, since you always have to rotate. Really liked playing the game
A very unusual idea for a game. This has a lot of potential, I liked it. Sometimes I was not sure why my army was losing with more or losing with less men, but it was very strategic nonetheless. Good entry!
Amazing graphics! Seems like a really good spot to catch a fish, too, as there are almost 30 of them by the time the timer ran out :-) Good work!
very nice graphics and animation! I like the different camera perspectives when you reach the other stages of the fight. The game reminds me of that unreal engine game for smartphones from some years ago, too bad I forgot the name. very good entry!
damn the mother got into the room while I was mowing the lawn (we should do a crossover with my game this LD about lawn mowing, lol). I like the graphics, they are a good fit for the game. Maybe you could add some mini games for fetching food and mowing the lawn so there is a bit more to do, but otherwise, nice entry!
I really like the snowman regenerating mechanic, did something similiar in LD43. Overall a very good entry, great graphics! Just a very minor complaint, whenever you get hit, the game seems to freeze for a moment. Maybe intentional or caused by the webgl export, but something was a bit clunky there. Other than that, great work!
Good graphics and sound! I liked the clean gameplay, just had some very minor difficulties when trying to water the plant for the first time. Nice entry!
The idea is promising. However the balancing was a bit off, I ended up in 2012 with more money than Jeff Bezos and should propably named my band Metallica or something like that :-) The name generator is nice, too bad the map did not work in the end.
Really cool game! I like the graphics and the gameplay idea. My only minor complaint are the controls, which are somewhat clunky. And you can do a barrel roll while stationary, resulting in a fly off screen :-)
Somehow on my first try the hole for the key was very hard to interact with. Restarted the game and it was ok. The idea is nice, got a bit stuck in the second loop where no yellow clouds where around anymore and the music kept playing.
I like the game. The mechanics are well thought out and after accidentally skipping the first instruction, I managed to find out what to do :-) The player movement could be a bit slower and also maybe add a semi transparent square infront of the player so I always know what field I'm facing currently. Good music and sound effects, and cool graphics!
Really difficult to control, unfortunately. Otherwise I had a ton of fun with it, very polished and great graphics! Maybe a bit too much polish on the floor ;-)
My best time was 2 Minutes 35 seconds. I like the easy gamestyle, I knew instantly what to do and shoot them down. One minor thing, the screen shake at every shot was a bit nauseating over time. Otherwise nice entry, also cool music!
good that is a stupid dog! Very cool game, had a lot of fun playing it. Ver innovative gameplay! Don't have anything negative to say, simply a very nice game.
Wow, amazing graphics and cool gameplay! Loved playing the game. Also nice to put a level selection in the main menu. The only very minor complaint: sometimes its hard to see the depth of the view, so the egg goes to short or long without a 3d reference point. But I managed to clear all the levels, now lets eat some eggs for breakfast :-)
Interesting idea. I liked the graphics, however I did not fully understand the gameplay. For example having some components which I could not interact with immediately. Otherwise nice entry!
Nice idea! I like the idea of keeping the enemy alive. Maybe he should act the same, as he is much better in fist fights than me :-) I had a music where it played two times, resulting in a quite strange noise, but otherwise no technical problems. My highscore was 75.
The controls could be a bit better. like picking up and repair on the same key. Also maybe change tools with mousewheel, so the left hand can stay on WASD. The game itself is nice. I could not finish the 4th or 5th level as there is simply not enough time to fill all holes before the air runs out. Nice entry
This is an interesting experiment. It is a bit slow for a gamejam where people often try to check out a lot of games, but I really like the concept. Also nice visuals and audio!
Interesting Game. I did not quite understand how it works, but it looks really cool. The sound could be a bit less noisy. Otherwise nice entry :-)
nice take on the tower defence. Gameplay could be a bit deeper, but I made it to the end with 8hp left. good entry!
Really cool game! At first I wasn't quite sure what to do with the blocks or how to grab them. Maybe a visual clue showing the progress of picking the block up would be nice (other than the shaking). But once I got that, the game was a lot of fun, also good graphics and sound!
Nice entry. The game is much deeper than its appears at first, which I liked a lot. However, I felt it could be faster, and some of the mechanics were a bit hard to understand.
6246468. Dont know if it is a good score, but I'm proud of it :-) Nice game, I like the sound and the mix between shooting and racing. I had some problems with the controls, mainly the unresponsive shooting mechanism and the turn radius of the vehicle. It is hard to collect the drops when you circle around them all the time. Also, I got stuck a couple of times in the wall. Maybe I'm not a good driver :-) But otherwise, very well done!
Cool idea! Sometimes it was hard to keep control of both fields at the same time, but thats the challenge, isnt it? Maybe a bit more interaction between the two games would be great, but thats only a minor nitpick. Good entry!
64 seconds, cool game! One really minor thing, you should add a "how to control the player rocket" text/image on the start screen. Other than that, I liked the animation and the impact of the punches, pushing the other objects away. well done!
Really cool! Graphics and sounds are great for the short amount of time. I like these very experimental games. Two minor things: dont stand on the table, it will make you fly :-) and when I found the clock, it told me I was missing a clue at the same time, so the two text/speech lines overlapped a bit. Otherwise great entry!
Nice game, but a bit too hard. I died quite often during the first wave because I had to dodge the enemies, my towers, rocks and the exhaust (so driving in reverse wasnt a good idea either). I like the fast pace though, emanaging everything at once is cool and the graphics were good, but maybe just a bit easier on the difficulty would be great.
yeah, there is a problem with some resolutions. I tested the game with 16:9 and 16:10 and had no problems, but to be safe, a 16:9 resolution should be used. I've updated the bugs section of the description, thanks for noticing it.
@mza yeah, I thought about an ingame tutorial, but there is never time for a proper tutorial in the compo :-)
@linky439 yes I'm currently examining the possibilities of creating a real app out of the game, however my last few mobile games tanked in the store, so I'm not that confident anymore unfortunately. And I don't think a PC version would do well on one of the bigger stores.
@croewens yeah, I tried to explain everywhere I could to use the fullscreen button when playing the html version, thats why you unfortunately got behind the UI.
This was a fun entry! I did not manage to finish the game so I guess everything is evil now, but I had a lot of fun all the way. The music is good and fitting, the graphics are great for the short amount of time and you even managed to implement an inventory and quest system! I guess it is a bug but I could not equip a chest piece, as it would not go into the chest slot. Great game!
Nice game, very relaxing. Well, after I turned down the mouse speed, before that it was a bit shakey :-) Very good music, that made the game quite enjoyable. Too bad there was no win condition, but I managed to fall out, which is something, I guess :-) One really minor thing: The green and yellow spheres in the UI are not that different in color, maybe its just my monitor, but the yellow could be brighter, like in the game itself.
that was a fun experience! Managed to get to the end credits and had a lot of fun while doing this. The controls could be a bit more precise, but I had no problems controlling the vacuum cleaner like robot. Graphics and sound were very good, too. One of the best games I played this LD so far. One minor thing: the game balance was a bit too easy, and most of the cards did not have any effect once you maxed out life and mana, so you were just constantly cycling for weapons and lightnings. Great job!
Ok, if you don't eat the humans before feeding them, you actually have a chance :-) Nice idea! Sometimes the UI gets in the way of the player, that could be changed. And you should not be allowed to eat humans without the chance of succeeding. Although, is a Zombie intelligent enough to know that? I dont know. What I do know is that I had fun playing the game :-) You just should disable the audio rating section if there is no sound (or was it a bug that I did not hear any sound?)
Nice game. Easy to understand, except for the wall laser I didnt even need the how to play. Sometimes it can be a bit unfair if you just not getting a move card and are stuck to one side, but otherwise really cool game.
nice idea! Once I had figured out what to do (which meant read the instructions a couple of times) it was a fun experience. The UI could be cleaner, it is a bit too cluttered / unreadable.
Nice one, really cool idea of combining bomberman and endless runner. Some minor critique points: Sometimes you start in a block. On the first start, it is not clear what is a wall and what is space you can go through. The powerups could use an ingame description. And finally the level should get harder the longer it runs, so more walls. But you see, thats all very minor points, I really liked the game! I think it even has potential to do some mobile game with that idea.
Hey, another match three entry, I made one too, but with another genre :-) I like your approach, it was quite fun to play. The tutorial was also well placed (and needed). Sometimes I had a bit trouble with the match three placement and did not know exactly why the tiles went away or dont, so maybe add a bit more feedback to the player here.
Good graphics and audio, as well as a nice combination of the genres. The controls could be a easier, and the tutorial tips in the background of the level were a bit hard too read sometimes. But I had a lot of fun playing the game, good job!
I like the combination of the two games. They fit quite good. Also, mechanically the game is well made, and the music is good, too. Sometimes the pathfinding gets a little bugged, but thats not a problem. The only thing I would change is to stop the game while you have to do a choice dialog. For example, when I got to the first choice where to go next, I had not got the dialog up to this point yet so I did not know what to do until the choice was presented. Maybe just focus the UI on the dialog in those cases. Otherwise, great entry!
This is an unique idea, I can see the concept behind it :-) Unfortunately I had some problems with the (mouse) controls and overlapping sounds, so maybe I could not fully get the desired experience. Also the download size is a bit large, but I think thats normal for the unreal engine.
Its like a biathlon, just with motorized shopping carts and ducks! Funny idea! Als well executed for the short amount of time. The racing part feels a bit too slippy, and I managed to fly out of the track on a lap. Otherwise, good entry!
well executed. it is a classic text adventure, which is not that common in ludum dare, and with the theme this time, I wasnt sure if you can do it at all. But you managed to do so and I have only one minor complaint, a "help" command to get a list of verbs might be cool, especially for a ludum dare event. At least a short list for the most common verbs would help to get to the fun part of the game faster :-)
I could get it to run, so it worked for me (win10). The idea is interesting, but I had trouble with the controls. It was just too difficult to select the right row for the number, it went all over the screen. Otherwise, nice game!
Nice idea! It is a hard game though, as the enemies just wait to have you walk into their line of fire. Maybe some more options like a jetpack jump diagonally or the two action system of the current xcom would greatly improve the fun here.
Really cool idea! I like the shooting on the different keys, although having multiple keyboard layouts would be great (on a german keyboard, the Z key is far away from the WSAD). It also could use an increased variety of monsters, that would make the game a bit more difficult, too. Managed to get 235 kills before they got me. Good Job!
Ah nice, it is built in :-) Then I'll change my suggestion to "put a text into the game telling people about the possibility to use other keyboard layouts" ;-)
Nice game! There is more depth to it than it seems at the beginning. Also I like the robot/vehicle. But one thing that really drives me crazy is the animation speed when it picks up something. That needs to be faster, it kills a lot of the drive. I kept changing to the cage view while the animation played to have something to do in the meantime :-) Otherwise a fun game.
Ha, that is a great game. I Really liked it! Two minor things: Maybe the "easy" level could be a bit easier, and you could add a visual cue at the cannon front indicating that there will be a shot next round (in addition to the squares below). I had some problems in the beginning to understand why there suddenly was an arrow in the field next to the cannon. Good game!
Nice idea! Once you understand how the game works, it is actually quite fun. The only think I would change is the font, at least for me it is almost unreadble. Otherwise, nice entry!
Ha, I beat myself! A fun game, I think when I have some friends over I will play a round with them. This is a really good idea, and also well executed.
