LD23 — Tiny World

Tiny Hack/ by Ace 2012-04-24T19:22:00

Sorry about the not-too-functional linux port, tried to throw one together but I have no idea of which libraries to include. I guess I could try doing an ldd and uploading those too.
I can add that everything that's gameplay related was pretty much thrown together the last hours, 30 minutes before the deadline there was still only one type of monster. I hate those small bugs that sneak in and manage to ruin your whole day, too much time lost trying to track down and eradicate them.

Tiny Hack/ by Ace 2012-04-24T19:29:00

Okay, I think just including all the packages from ldd might not be possible, I guess there are some problems with running a bleeding edge system.
If you happen to have the latest SFML version from git compiled on your system it might work though.
Sorry.

Tiny Hack/ by Ace 2012-04-25T12:26:00

To answer your questions;
Well, the main reason I chose to work with C++ is because I wanted to. Couldn't see a good reason to use some other simpler language/tool that I have no experience with.
Sadly the input system I coded in the very beginning only supported one key/button/axis per bind and I never had the time to upgrade it.
The wave timing was also something that was added in the last few hours, never had much time to get it working properly.
And I myself consider a 20x20 pixel world small enough ;)

TINY LIZARD SWELL WORLD by racarate 2012-04-24T19:38:00

The pixel sized lizard was really easy to lose track of, perhaps making it a bit bigger might help.
Also, while the graphics were really nice I still have no idea what is supposed to be done.

Underfoot by zorf 2012-04-24T18:42:00

Maybe not hiding the mouse pointer would make the controls just a slight bit better, nice game mechanics though.
The big blue footprints made me chuckle, the tiny president and his magical powers too.

A Theft of Mass by uberneen 2012-04-23T17:44:00

Controlling the ship got annoying quite fast, especially when colliding. The upgrading mechanic and overall gameplay is quite good though.

Cereal Prize Astronaut by MutagenMan 2012-04-24T17:28:00

The light system is quite amazing, I'm definitely going to "borrow" the idea for use later.
The controls sort of ruin the gameplay but at least the music is nice.

Protect Da World by Sankacoffee51 2012-04-24T17:51:00

The ground textures hurt my eyes, the purple ones in particular.
Gameplay was okay though even with the slightly clunky controls, especially attacking was annoying in that the animation seemed way too slow.

Nano Strike by Qaterknan 2012-04-24T19:08:00

Loved the mining "animation", the gameplay was sort of "meh" though.
The UI could use a bit more work, maybe a radial menu around the unit instead of the boxes in the corner.
I guess playing it enough to actually get the gameplay would sort that problem.

Disastronaut by Jeffalisk 2012-04-24T17:45:00

Oh god, the sound hurts my ears. Nice music though.
Apart from that, the graphics are nice and the fuel mechanic makes it hard enough to be enjoyable.
A few more parts to collect might've been nice but it's quite well made as it is.

Tiny Timmy and Big Bill by OmarShehata 2012-04-24T19:18:00

Awesome game, the whole punching thing is the best game mechanic I've seen so far. Loved the monsters and their angry eyebrows too, especially the spiders and their teeth grinding.
The graphics were well made too, although a simpler way to move while punching would help a bit

Bioclash by gammabeam 2012-04-23T16:38:00

Awesome game, 557 seconds survival time and I'm sure I'll be back to play it again.
Having said that, the UI could use a bit more descriptive buttons for the three main actions. Especially the third one.

aidas by mitkus 2012-04-23T16:26:00

The dark background sometimes makes the player hard to see, and jumping onto a block/the planet without moving it can be hard in tight spaces.

Twice Upon A Time by DainVadda 2012-05-01T15:57:00

The graphics were nice and it has good music/sounds, the puzzles feel slightly lacking in some way though.
Also, is the player really supposed to look that retarded?

Planet Gravity by Jens Nolte 2012-04-24T19:02:00

I loved the fact that the "magical" red items are simple weights, the gravity mechanic was a nice touch and quite innovative too.
Props for the spherical gravity and loose boxes, although the road edges could've been better made to not prevent you from getting onto the roads.

My Little Planet by NateNaterson 2012-04-24T17:23:00

Awesomely addictive little game, awesome sounds with a little bit repetitive music, 11090 was my final score after 8 minutes.
The powerups were pretty well balanced and the fact that you didn't need to catch them was nice.
The number of asteroids and enemies made it feel slightly overwhelming at times, but then those shockwaves kept dropping in.

Big Space Tiny Man by invaderJim 2012-04-24T17:03:00

The message boxes need to stay on screen longer, even if you keep moving. Also could use a way to get all the small people off your mask.
Nice humor though, especially the "Sun" and "Moon".

Super Planet Crusher Extreme by edg3 2012-04-24T16:57:00

Quite fun game although it was quite a bit of chance involved.
You should probably reduce the distance needed to "grab" a planet though, as I managed to lose while the player character was covering an entire planet.

Tiny Space by Jan Willem 2012-05-06T18:26:00

Very good for a first entry, could really use some more gameplay elements though.

The Last Square by caribou 2012-04-24T19:43:00

Unable to test it due to a "socket security error" in LD23.hx line 637

3 Arrows by wupto 2012-04-23T16:43:00

The start is quite hard, although I attribute that mostly to the fact that you can't see down the ledges. You just have to jump and hope there's not a bug there to ruin your day.
Nice graphics and gameplay though.

ResourceCollector by SaiKai 2012-05-01T16:24:00

This is a quite good game, although there didn't seem to be enough ways to use the resources. Also the upgrades felt like they scaled too quickly.
Apart from that it was nice though, if a bit simple.

TinyColony by aaronsnoswell 2012-04-24T17:40:00

Well made game, the text positioning could've been better but apart from that there's not much I can copmlain about.
Nice graphics and music, the leveling system was a good touch too.

Ant Slayer by Kharza 2012-05-06T20:11:00

A nice entry, although I found the fact that weapons don't have any shoot/hit effects kind of confusing. You have no idea if you're actually hitting the ants or not.
Could've used a way of switching control setup though, I had to unplug my 360 controller if I wanted to use mouse+keyboard.

Curse Of Grimwood by sorceress 2012-05-06T20:23:00

Really well made for being done in 48 hours, I would love to see the source and a timelapse/livestream for it.
That being said the collisions need work, the way they made your party members all but useless unless you micromanage them all, including the way they like to get stuck in each other or you.

Life in jar by Simple Ghost 2012-04-24T20:05:00

Nice graphics, the fading out effect needs a bit of work though. The gameplay was ok if a bit boring, and just what was that black thing that kept passing by?
Overall quite well made.

Cereal Killer by J0hnjwj 2012-04-23T16:59:00

The controls are a bit clunky but I guess that's because you're pushing around a shopping cart.
The scaling of the graphics isn't too good but I guess it adds to the overall theme.
You might want to do something more with the game over screen though, it's a bit plain.

Flyght by yosh 2012-04-24T17:09:00

The controls need a bit of work, not being able to move up/down and left/right while shooting made it a bit hard. (Although it might just be my keyboard)
I liked the overall theme though, although I'm not sure how well it fits with "tiny world"

The Cube Realms by Zoomyzoom 2012-04-24T18:21:00

The player needs some work, jumping was a bit clunky and the player character itself didn't really help.
The voxel graphics was nice, even if I didn't realize the lava was actual lava until I'd fallen into it and died.
Also, all the levels need some more work; First and second had areas that were way too hard in comparison to the third one.

Mage Duel by Kitch 2012-04-24T18:33:00

I loved the reason for the fights, "Mages should wear armor" vs "Clothes ftw".
The aiming mechanic was a bit clunky, especially the limited spell power. Hitting the enemy when you're dug into a hole turned pretty much impossible, the background music was nice though.

Link by Dax 2012-04-24T18:13:00

The name system is a bit bugged, when I entered a long name the text wrote on top of it.
I love logic games though so I'm going to be a bit biased with how fun it is.
The last level and the whole "Are you ready for this?" before it made me laugh quite a bit.
Well done.

Stranded by The Evil Cult 2012-04-24T22:19:00

Awesome game, the music was well made if a bit short.
And that's also pretty much the only compaint I really have of the game; It's well made but short.

LD25 — You are the Villain

My Little World Domination Simulator by Ace 2012-12-17T12:40:00

Right, I've uploaded a new build that should fix all the white blocks everywhere (The extracted version). Please tell me if it still doesn't work.

My Little World Domination Simulator by Ace 2012-12-17T13:05:00

If you keep on playing until you reach "ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS!" then you'll get a nice surprise :)

My Little World Domination Simulator by Ace 2012-12-17T19:09:00

The white blocks shouldn't possibly be able to happen, with the unextracted version it can happen because the harddrive isn't fast enough to extract the files from the data archives in time, but unextracted that shouldn't be able to happen.
As with the white text on Windows 8, the font I'm using to draw the text is literally baked into the executable so it can't happen because it's missing. All very strange and I have no idea how to fix it, sorry.

My Little World Domination Simulator by Ace 2012-12-17T19:27:00

I just learned that the white text bug might happen if you have an AMD card with a driver below 12.11, try updating to that if you have such an issue.

My Little Terrorist by tomc 2012-12-26T16:44:00

Pretty interesting game, took me a while to realize exactly what I needed to do but after that it seemed like there wasn't anything like an enemy in it. As long as the resources kept flowing you could basically just sit and build bombs and use them to blow stuff up, never really losing notoriety at all.

For the love of the king by FlowerPower 2012-12-17T15:13:00

A surprisingly good game for being so simple, though the difficulty level does ramp up way too quickly in the beginning only to then flatten out rather fast and become something more of an interactive murder screensaver.

Growth by Manuel 2012-12-17T03:46:00

An interesting concept, though I had no idea what I was doing at first. Didn't feel very difficult at all in the end though.

(Don't) Save Christmas by infernet89 2012-12-17T03:43:00

Music was really nice, got a bit surprised when huge amounts of santas suddenly appeared though.

Villain OS 8 by tommycreo 2012-12-17T03:50:00

Love the art and the fact that you're basically destroying the world through patting a cat, could use a bit more length though.

Overlord by dekart 2012-12-21T11:53:00

Pretty fun game, though it was a bit confusing knowing what was yours and what was the enemies. Also was a bit confusing about when to hover over the buildings at first.

The TIme Master by barret907k 2012-12-21T11:57:00

So, I tried playing this on windows but I have no idea if it works like it should. I managed to collect all of the crystals but nothing happened after that, and the game kept crashing all of the time.
The virtual joystick does cover way too much of the screen though, making it hard to see what's going on in the lower left corner.

Kidnap by Bzaraticus 2012-12-17T14:18:00

Slightly too fast paced for the size of the playing area I'd say, the selection mechanic is a bit picky with what it accepts as a selection.

Perhaps having fire and selection on different buttons would've been a nice idea, as would lowering the pitch and volume of the sound.

Evil Keeper by XmmmX 2012-12-17T14:54:00

Not too bad a game but the gameplay was a bit boring, you never seemed to have enough gold to really expand your dungeon or do anything fun.

The boss battle controls were a bit confusing at first too, considering that you're able to move at will during normal play but not boss battles.

It Should be a Crime! by Ysty 2012-12-17T12:12:00

A very unique concept, and I liked the audio even if it was very confusing. Managed to beat the entire game without even figuring out what the queue matrons are supposed to look like or even which way they're looking.

Multigon: A story about an unloved mesh. by zompi 2012-12-17T12:25:00

Very nice idea this, fun to play too. Sadly the game crashed after a while but I'm guessing that may be because I ran out of story.
On that note I liked the fact that you've managed to stick a functional story into a game about polygons and circles.

Evil Death Robots Vs Bunnies by Team Superfluid 2012-12-23T10:23:00

Pretty good game, I love the graphics in it even though some more time should probably have been spent on the unit controls. It's a bit confusing at first how to actually move your units as there isn't a visible grid for the movements, also managed to lock up the game by ordering one of my units to move to the very edge of how far it could move.
Apart from that though it seems like a very nice game.

killCity by DST 2012-12-17T12:50:00

A bit of polish would be needed, yes, still an okay game though.
I like that you just stuck a golden goat in there, it's way too easy to get to gaze upon it's glory though.

Super Villains, LLC by Monxcleyr Productions 2012-12-21T11:39:00

Very nice game, the letters were fun too. Felt like the abilities and gameplay were added in the last second though, considering how polished the graphical parts are compared to the rest of the game.

CORRUPTIONEXE by Xgor 2012-12-17T11:44:00

Nice idea, sadly it wasn't very fun to play. I've always liked having a bit more control than just "point and watch things go bonkers".

Angry Angus from Outer Space!!! by Xeke_Death 2012-12-17T11:38:00

It's an okay game, sadly though something quickly brings it down to single digit fps after playing for a while, so I never really got to blow up earth.
The gameplay is pretty nice though, the only thing that kept annoying me was how frequently somehing exploded on my ship.

Rude Bear by Alex Rose 2012-12-21T11:43:00

Very nice game, loved the puppet on a stick type of graphics, though it could really use a better attack system. Very confusing how to kill some of the enemies at first.

The Heist by alexlarioza 2012-12-21T21:23:00

Damn, been way too long since I last played a good text adventure. Remember working with the Quest engine several years back when they were still played, I'm amzed it still exists.
Was a pretty good adventure even if the story could've used some more fleshing out, and I guess the puzzles could've been improved as well.

Click to Lock and Load by RandomM00 2012-12-17T12:33:00

Very nice game, though the bunnies were a bit too fast and didn't move high enough that it would be worth trying to shoot them later on. Liked the flying armadillos(?) and pigs though.

Exterminate! by Frib 2012-12-17T15:40:00

I liked the top-down 3d look of it, though the controls were a bit clunky. Graphics could do with a bit more work, and maybe some fleshing out of the interiors as well.

Gameplay was good though, loved how the scientists ran when you closed a door on them.

Sinister Simon by Puffi 2012-12-17T15:21:00

A rather simple game, I liked the mini-games even if they all seemed to lack a bit of content. The game was very easily lost and it felt like there was just not enough content in it really.

Not Space Invaders by munchor 2012-12-17T11:52:00

A nice idea, slightly nostalgic feeling from how space invader it looked. The ship ai was a bit too precise though and kept stopping and standing in the same spot.

Perhaps change the ships ai to be more ineffective and add some of the shelters from the original space invaders.

Dirty Robbing Hood by peterfeatherstone 2012-12-21T11:33:00

The graphics style was really nice, though the gameplay felt a little lacking in some areas. Perhaps it could be improved upon with a better map layout and more interesting villagers.

LD26 — Minimalism

SPector by Ace 2013-04-30T11:03:00

You should check the code JohhnySix, there are more TODOs in there. :)

Ten Levels by rujo 2013-04-29T08:52:00

Nice game, though you can get completely stuck on the blocks really easily.

Nothing is True by DiscoFish 2013-04-29T08:26:00

Very nice and atmospheric, I like it

Coin Collector by anbreizh 2013-04-29T08:33:00

Really nice game, the music is simple and slightly addictive. I also like the powerups, though the platforms dissappear a bit too quickly after leaving the screen, so you can't leap off one just as it goes off-screen.

For Victory! by Back to Browse Entries 2013-04-29T08:46:00

Pretty good game, very minimalistic. Though maybe you should tweak it so that the game doesn't play itself.

AlterSpace by guestcheap 2013-04-29T08:41:00

Interesting concept, though the movement felt pretty strange with no friction or inertia whatsoever.
You could've made the game a bit harder by not letting you move blocks through other blocks, then more strategy could be involved.

Save the Potato, Save the world. by JohnnySix 2013-04-29T08:20:00

Really nicely done, I like the way the level appears around you while you play, leads to many interesting deaths.
The talking potatoes are a nice touch too.

LD28 — You Only Get One

Run 'n Gun by Ace 2013-12-18T11:35:00

josefnpat: You need to init the git submodule first, thought I put that in the compile instructions but apparently not.
And sadly there's an issue somewhere in Kunlaboro that breaks it in 64-bit, otherwise I'd have 64-bit linux builds for you.

Bitmo Pirates MMO by josefnpat 2013-12-17T08:11:00

It's amazing that you managed a full MMO inside of the 48 hours, though the interfaces could do with a little work. It would be nice to be able to tab through the different input boxes for example.

Curtain Call by pinkmonkeyhead 2013-12-18T11:48:00

Well, you don't really get much in the way of instructions so you might want to work a bit on that. All in all it's a nice game though, with good if a bit repetitive music.

"Did you know you could have avoided all these people to get killed" is perhaps not the best way to put that either, I'd say "Did you know you could've avoided having all these people die" sounds better.

Only One Man by Thingus 2013-12-20T11:29:00

A nice idea behind this, though the camera resetting to the top left every time you exit a store was annoying. Maybe you should've added more weapons and made it more obvious when you hurt something too. I ran around and checked several other houses because I thought I wasn't hurting the ship at first, then I just left the soldier standing by it for a while.

A Snowball's Chance In Space by barkergames 2013-12-20T10:54:00

It's a nice game, though a bit too easy to beat.

You should have more levels that you have to beat, maybe salvage one missile from the defeated ship and using it on the next one.

Tether by orbitantlers 2013-12-17T07:57:00

Looks and sounds pretty good, though the controls are a bit strange and an indicator pointing in the general direction of your pet would be useful.

One Wing by theholychicken 2013-12-18T11:55:00

This is a very nice game actually, especially for only having 10 hours of work on it. Though I really don't think an installer is the right way to go for a Ludum Dare game, just a heads up.

Discount Santa Saves Christamas by tinykidtoo 2013-12-20T10:48:00

Well, it's a nice platformer, though the gravity feels a bit weird. A bit low on different amounts of obstacles but that's fine since it's just 48 hours after all.

The Last Egg by fluffypillow 2013-12-20T11:36:00

Felt rather nice, though the camera scrolled a bit slow I think. And sadly the choppiness (Which might just be Firefox's fault) made it unbeatable.

Thrust Issues by Gravedrinker 2013-12-17T07:45:00

Fun idea, and it's really well executed, though something about the controls felt... off I guess.

There's only one Earth by TheStolenBattenberg 2013-12-20T11:23:00

Well, the unskippable intro didn't really improve the game. Though it's nice to see a text adventure like this under ludum dare.
This might almost fit the theme a bit too well, what with closing as soon as you die so you have to restart the entire game from the beginning

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Not your Average Mining Emulator by Ace 2014-04-28T09:25:00

@Dreii you need the Visual C++ 2013 redistributable, it's linked in the post.

@eldog That's just the intro screen, if it doesn't run through to the menu try skipping the intro with escape.
There's been a lot of issues apparently with my linux build, never got my hands on anyone willing to test it for me so I just know that it works for me on my Linux machines.

And thanks for the compliments/comments, I'm going to be trying to clean up the code and make it into a more feature complete game later on in the future.

Not your Average Mining Emulator by Ace 2014-05-01T10:58:00

Right, I reuploaded the build with MSVCR120.dll packaged. Not sure if that's all you need from the runtime though, but hopefully it'll be.

Not your Average Mining Emulator by Ace 2014-05-09T10:57:00

Right, uploaded yet another build for Windows. This time with more DLLs included, should work better now.

Let's go to the Mole ! by kikaz 2014-05-18T22:58:00

A bit hard to understand what the cards actually do, and it seemed to have a hard time registering clicks on the cards. So that got a bit frustrating after a while.

But a really nice game though.

Underwall by sickmentalnerd 2014-05-18T22:40:00

The controls feel a bit off somehow, maybe something to do with the look of the animations. The slightly broken platform collisions feels rather unpolished too.

Overall a really well made game though.

Warpigs by sorceress 2014-05-08T13:21:00

Really, really impressed with just how much artwork and mechanics you've got done for this.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

TeazleParty by Ace 2014-12-14T06:23:00

Been thinking of trying to arrange a date/time through IRC where we might get several people to play a game.

The Adventures of Darsh in Offscreenland by mmoustafa 2014-12-09T19:03:00

Nice use of the theme, having all action happen off-screen.

The game felt really short though.

Malware Mania by YourLocalFax 2014-12-13T21:53:00

You seem to have packed in OS X natives into the Linux version by mistake. 'natives/lwjgl/' only contains a macosx folder.

Confessional by AmyDee 2014-12-29T14:19:00

I love the concept in play here, the atmosphere is great and the mood really turned out fantastic.
Beautiful use of the theme I think.

Idle Civilisation by ketzer 2014-12-29T14:24:00

Nice interpretation of an idle game, what with having several resources.

hot & cold by Wir 2014-12-13T22:07:00

A lot of game in this, 165MB of game even. Largest LD game I've downloaded so far.

A nice idea and rather well executed too, though there were some things that could've been clearer.
It could've been helpful - for instance - with a small graphic showing just which directions each platform will connect to when placed. Something like a small box in one corner where you draw a the connections.
Another thing that would've made it a bit more unique would be to have different textures for the summer/winter platforms, something like ice and rock.

Either way, nice graphics and sounds.

Coward by tomdeal 2014-12-09T21:06:00

A really nice game, well designed and lots of functionality for being a compo entry.

Penguin Savior by Samuel Arminana 2014-12-09T21:15:00

I like the fact that you don't just have a screen, but rather some things around it too. Would've been fun if you could turn the screen off, turn around, or other such meta actions.

Snowball Escape by The Number Guy 2014-12-09T20:29:00

Well, I guess the entire game is played on the screen of the phone. And the graphics are quite nice.
A bit too easy though, and slightly sudden too. Getting bombarded with snowballs the moment you press start.

How Many Screens? by AdenMansonGames 2014-12-09T20:27:00

Well, I've no idea what the game is about. But I got to play a minute of slightly buggy two-player pong followed by a minute of simple space invaders.

Say what you want, it's hard to beat the classics.

Dr Blake and the Singular Screen by sikosis 2014-12-09T20:44:00

I like the music, and the voice work is quite hilarious. Might want to perhaps put the tutorial messages over the player or somewhere near him though, that's where your eyes are most likely to be focused while playing after all.

Kingdom Simulator 2015 by hbirler 2014-12-09T20:59:00

A nice take on the clicker game genre I think, the missions were fun. Though the fact I had to keep scrolling constantly to see everything was rather annoying, and the messages pushing the entire game down whenever you do something was slightly annoying too.
Putting a scrollbar on the message log would be immensely helpful I think.

Perceptions by dgjames222 2014-12-09T20:35:00

A really nice concept, though it would've been nice if you kept the top-down view visible at all times. That and some smooth transitions would've helped immensely with making it feel like a single screen.

Text messages kept drawing on top of eachother though, took me a while to realize it wanted me to press 'F' and not 'E'.

Screen Protector by Megapiemanphd 2014-12-09T20:39:00

I wish you wouldn't have opted out of audio, as that was a definite five starts according to me.
Music was simple and catchy, and the voice work was nice too.

All in all though, a nice little shooter game.

I Can See Everything by Deranes 2014-12-09T18:55:00

A rather well designed and executed jumping game I'd say, though the fact that inertia wasn't lost when hitting a ceiling felt a bit off.
Nice interpretation of the theme I've got to say though.

My Way Out by victorafael 2014-12-09T21:20:00

I love the reusing of the blocks animation, looks really nice.
The music is a bit repetitive though, but that's understandable.
The controls felt slightly sluggish though, and the gravity was a bit low.

BeatBots by Ace 2015-12-14T14:29:00

Right, you might need the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable;
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

That could be the source of the missing DLLs (I'm guessing they were named something like MSC140.dll?)

Chaos Stunt Flight by Marthog 2015-12-22T18:35:00

Perhaps you could add a small arrow pointing towards the goal, so you know where you're supposed to go. Felt like I was just fumbling about on most of the levels, possibly also leave some sort of trail from the plane, to help orient the player to what's going on.

Space Pilot by Budi 2015-12-22T16:46:00

A nice little game, though it feels very rigid and could probably use a little bit of tweening and a better defined hitbox for the player.

Evilator by Dyn 2015-12-16T16:09:00

Nice idea, just that the controls felt a bit clunky. Can't exactly say what was wrong with them, but they didn't feel right.

The art is beautiful though.

Drill Fight by VladRusu 2015-12-16T15:19:00

Really nice art, and the music is quite good too.

A few comments though; Actually know what connects and when was very fuzzy, perhaps some hit particles would work better than just blooding out the screen.
Also felt like the hitboxes were a bit too small, since you could walk eachother into a corner and then almost not be able to hit with an attack anymore.

Overall though, rather nice.

Snow Goat Avalanche by loxo 2015-12-22T17:14:00

Really liked the animation when you hit a tree, less liking how much goat sounds you get when moving. Perhaps a short cooldown timer before you replay the sound could help.

Wellspring Wanderer by Justin Mullin 2015-12-22T19:10:00

How you managed all of this inside of 48 hours is quite amazing, looks beautiful and plays remarkably well. I would've liked to have seen perhaps some parallax on the stars in the background, and maybe a slightly better transition to a new level rather than just a white flash.

I can't call this anything but good though.

Snake Growth by jonask 2015-12-22T17:01:00

My only problem was that the game speed seemed to change mid round when you hit one of the '-' blocks, which seriously messed with the rythm of the controls.
Apart from that it was a quite nice game, though the 'Congratulations' at the end felt a bit stale.

Dying Light by tesnos 2015-12-16T14:45:00

First off, boss.png is missing so the game is impossible to complete. Secondly, title.png should be Title.png otherwise the game won't run on OS X or Linux.

Apart from those issues;

Why have an options menu if you're just going to berate the user for wanting to check it? Feels strange.
Using the close-window button for interacting with the application feels wrong as well.

You also need to define a better range for the spacebar timings, had many of them appear for only a single frame making them quite literally impossible to press in time unless you're just sitting and constantly spamming the key - in which case the game becomes very boring.

RUN For Your Life by bentglasstube 2015-12-22T18:48:00

Perhaps you should package in any non-standard libraries that you're using, libnoise is not in my package manager in any way, shape, or form so I have to compile it on manually. Not something you want to force people to do when they just want to play a game.
It runs quite abysmally as well, nowhere near playable FPS on my machine regardless on if I throw in libnoise or run it through wine.

Apart from that though, the gameplay is enjoyable and feels really solid. The art and sound is nice too, and the controls feel good. If you could improve the performance slightly this would be a very good game.

The Bulb by Radnap 2015-12-22T17:11:00

Can not run it on Linux, firstly the TheBulb ELF lacks execution permissions, after setting +x it also throws a Java exception;
Error: failed to load/find main class fr.langladure.ld34.desktop.DesktopLauncher

Oak Gnome Adventure by Karatorian 2015-12-23T12:58:00

Feels just a little too fast paced, but it is enjoyable.

Could probably use some more instructions in-game.

Environment Interface by Neroxis 2015-12-16T14:03:00

I felt like more descriptions were sorely lacking, had no idea about what any of the buildings really were. Their effects were more obvious, but that involves actually building and crewing them just to figure out what it will do.

More of the same in the rest of the UI, why does the change values for all the resources not correlate with the actual amount of resources?
Knowing that you're gaining wood is all good and that, but it should really show when the usable wood is delivered, not when a tree is chopped down.
And what was the yellow bar? Overall pollution level?

The placing of buildings was a slight bit strange too, why have the ghost be green when a building can't be placed because of missing resources?
And the tree planting felt strange too, I had no idea if I was actually planting trees or pouring green color on the dirt.

Maybe transports should prioritize resources that are running low as well, managed to run out of food even thought reportedly my farms produced over ten surplus.

Just my series of thoughts on how to improve the game, overall a nice little RTS game though.

Stickman Sam in the High Fly Sky by Simple Potential 2015-12-16T16:15:00

Could've used a small notification before the powerup appeared, felt like it was just up to pure chance whether or not you could grab them.

Jumper Duck by Coherence 2015-12-22T18:29:00

Congratulations on submitting your first game, easily beats some of the games I've played on here so far.
I would suggest throwing in some more effects on the game if you plan on improving it, make it more clear when you're doing something bad - like say touching a spike. Either throw some particles or put a slight red tone on the screen, doesn't have to be very in-your-face.
Another suggestion would be to always drop the spikes on the furthest right of the screen, don't know if that was a bug or intended but it felt a bit weird to have obstacles appear behind you were they couldn't do anything at all.
I would suggest a simple improvement of moving the chandeliers as well, just have them scrolling at the same rate as the spikes and drop them back in when they disappear off screen, helps the illusion of movement.

Overall a great example of a first game, certainly better than the first ones I made.

Pub Master by Ace 2016-12-13T06:32:00

The frantic-icity is a slight bit by design actually, figured it would be better with a short and fun game rather than a long one that just drags on with no added content.

Normally I'd ask if there's things to improve too, but considering how little time I had to spend on it I already know the answer to that question...
