LD22 — Alone

I Wanna Be the Fishy by frosty 2012-01-04T01:08:00

Nice little entry. I really liked the control mechanics... it felt really fluid, and the slight upward thrust really kept it interesting.

AB-ALONE by SonnyBone 2012-01-08T00:56:00

This was great. One of my highest rated thus far, if not the highest. I can tell you spent every second putting it where it needed to be...

Tooltips would have been a help... (I wasn't sure what the shell even was until after the game was over and I peeked in the guide).

Locked Away by MoltenMustafa 2011-12-24T01:31:00

Fun and solid for its simplicity

CANDY WORLD DREAM REALM by Maple 2011-12-19T06:33:00

I enjoyed that a whole lot more than I probably should have :) Thanks

kuudou by summaky 2011-12-20T02:17:00

Really enjoyed it! I liked the eye mechanic, it with the darkness just worked.

Lonely Adventures of Al Oneman by invaderJim 2011-12-20T04:19:00

Liked where you were going with this. You should keep at it.

Phares by Felipe Budinich 2012-01-05T00:10:00

Art and sound was great. Never could quite figure out what was going on with the controls though... no matter where I hot the ghosts, didn't feel very bouncy.

The Grumpy Pinball Ball by Olofson 2011-12-20T02:57:00

That was fun. Thanks!

Basketball ~for the lonely~ by jagttt 2011-12-20T02:24:00

Very solid. Nothing I can think to add or take away.

Alone by DivideByZero 2011-12-21T01:40:00

It was good. Liked the pencil/paper art style.
With mine, I put an installer version / and an exe version with links in the description to the XNA dependencies.

Out by kosinus 2012-01-08T22:18:00

Just as I was getting into it.. it was over :( (I'm sure you haven't heard that enough :) ) Keep going with it. A few more levels and maybe a bit of audio and this will be great.

The Great Bordom by tunnel 2012-01-04T00:28:00

Dont let the negatives above get you down. Game programming takes practice... and this was pretty good for a first try. keep it up!

Last Stand by Yezu 2012-01-04T00:37:00

Didn't work on win764 for me...

Alone by NGuillemot 2012-01-04T00:12:00

Graphics and sound worked really well together. I was a bit confused about exactly what it was I was supposed to be doing.. but I think I did it.

Aloneasaurus Rex by jovoc 2012-01-04T00:35:00

Nice little app game. Once I figured out how it worked, I could see it really going somewhere.

A Life Apart by MagnesiumNinja 2012-01-04T01:01:00

The controls were acting kinda wanky from time to time, and it wasn't always apparent of what it was I should be doing... (going up, lighting torches)... But other than that excellent entry. Well thought out and nailed the theme.

Lonely God Dude by alfredofreak 2012-01-04T00:47:00

After coming of a string of platformers to rate, it's nice to see a more original concept. Could see going a lot of ways with this. Nice!

Could use a bit more player feedback... As I wasn't quite sure my clicks were doing anything.

Mini Blue Box Boy by Mr. Wonko 2012-01-04T00:51:00

Eh, it was a pretty good platformer. I kinda liked the audio.. the graphics could be improved to fit it.

To be or not to be - Alone by ripter 2012-01-04T00:54:00

Agree with the above that it needs some balancing.

Alone in a cave by orseoste7o 2011-12-23T22:15:00

That was not a bad little game. I seemed to run into some issues with the light not working 100% of the time... But it could of just been me.

Village Bastard by Orangy Tang 2011-12-20T01:00:00

Really enjoyed it!

The Last Leech by Daz 2012-01-08T22:33:00

This was nice.. Liked the enemy variety and the spells were varied and useful.

5 DAYS by matthias_zarzecki 2011-12-23T17:17:00

Liked the mood. The graphics and music really worked well together. Did get a bit repetitive, but not so much to not try and save that cat a few times.

Bouncy Balls by Dmurph 2011-12-20T03:32:00

That was fun. Loved playing in the editor.

Super Square Zombie Killer by citizen_erased 2011-12-23T22:18:00

Fun to play. Very good control scheme for this kind of game on a PC. As mentioned above, the zombies were a little op in the speed department.

Dr. Autofober's Experiment by tcstyle 2012-01-09T23:51:00

Great idea, and I could see this being a lot of fun. But as mentioned above, I just cant think that fast.

Leave Me Alone by StabAlarash 2012-01-09T23:58:00

Pretty fun little game. I was surprised (and I admit a bit relieved) to not see pits to jump over. Only thing I would change is to switch the point values. Those little guys are hard to hit!

Atlantic Flight ONE by Tritax 2011-12-21T01:03:00

That was fun. Rand out of food and water within the last 5 miles... but decided just to go straight forward and made it.

'malone? by Norgg 2012-01-07T22:49:00

I like the mouse/keyboard control combo for this type of game. Several I've played thus far use a set of keys for both which is clunky.

The Invention of Colour by bach 2011-12-19T06:21:00

Enjoyed it!

Can't Even Apologise by J 2012-01-07T23:22:00

That was a lot of fun. Liked the art style and sound work. Neat little concept that was very new to me and very enjoyable.

Survive The Desert by angrygeometry 2011-12-20T01:31:00

You nailed the theme on this one. Music and graphics worked really well with the mood. Has a 'Demetri Martiny' feel to it... and i mean that as a compliment.

The Grey Waste by Kharza 2011-12-31T18:32:00

Overall, great job. Good mood and liked the black and white and the sound fit in nicely.
The controls, as mentioned above were a little wanky, ran into some collision detection issues and the press escape to exit the game text wouldn't go away until I finished the first level. But all of those are very minor.

And let me fix rawbits comment for him...

I'll not install anything to play a game, except for DirectX, Flash, A couple versions of Java, and the unity web player.

The Lonely Electron by spiral 2012-01-09T23:55:00

Solid concept and the graphics and audio were great.

Va Unan by cobhc6 2012-01-07T22:57:00

After I got through the top gate, I found myself walking around a black screen. Not sure if this was intentional or not... But I got confused.

The graphics and mood were great on the first level though. Just needs less saxophone :)

The End by 2A1S 2011-12-21T00:39:00

It ran fine, I assume RHY didn't notice the XNA requirment.

Glow by StarLight 2012-01-08T00:08:00

Really good for a first try. As mentioned above, the jumping was a little wanky... But the levels were well balanced for it.

Leave Black Alone! by df458 2011-12-20T01:54:00

Best puzzle game I've played in the competition yet. Everything just works...

The Cheese Stands Alone! by EvilDemonCreature 2012-01-09T23:48:00

Took me a while to figure this out. But once I did, it's a pretty neat, original puzzle game. The overall goal was clear enough, but took some fooling around to get the mechanics.

T - O - G - E - T - H - E - R ______ A - L - O - N - E by jsjwooowooo 2011-12-23T18:28:00

Once I realized how the game ran... It was fun, and i liked the music. A little gamestate management would have taken this a long way.

SpaceMission by Muu? 2011-12-20T01:57:00

Music was great and matched the graphic style perfectly. And one more word... jetpacks.

Void by inlinevoid 2011-12-31T18:03:00

The graphics were great.. the cloud and light were really nice touches, but the music kinda drug me out of the mood.

Drink Alone by bigbazwa 2012-01-10T00:03:00

Liked the overall idea. Was really a lot of fun. I'm not sure if it was the controls, or just the balancing needs balanced... but I found it got real hard real quick.

Do NOT Hug Me! by ziomorti 2011-12-24T14:07:00

Nice little game. It seemed a little busy to me... especially when the map gets crowded. A broom or tp buff would have toned that down a bit. Or a knock back like others suggested.

Good work!

Rid me of You by ASOT 2011-12-20T02:53:00

I laughed. I cried. I got confused. I got scared. Then I laughed again.

Sol Solo by dcfedor 2011-12-23T22:23:00

That was fun. Needs a little better explanation of exactly what I should be doing... I think I figured it out..

Lonely Ruins by Kableado 2011-12-22T23:24:00

Neat little game. Graphics were great.

VOXTERIUM by Kitch 2011-12-21T14:44:00

My take on the theme was being charged to contain a hopeless situation by yourself until help arrives. Then realizing that the help isn't coming.

I'll admit it may be loose, and the "story" is subtle. This sort of game doesn't lend itself well to text readification.

I really do appreciate the feedback. I really can't argue with the suggestions... they've been very helpful.

VOXTERIUM by Kitch 2012-01-08T14:25:00

Wow... this new rating order just gave me a flood of visitors. Thank you all for the comments!

Make A Game - I'm not sure that I would start playing the game on Hardcore mode before I'd beaten it a few times on the other difficulties. which are hard enough. Once you figure out how the enemy attacks work, it's easy to avoid them, even on hardcore mode. (Think z axis)

The mouse sensitivity thing is having me kick myself. I've got it in the code, just never put in the interface.

Alone with... things! by codeapparat 2011-12-21T00:34:00

Interesting mechanic. I was a chair ridin, table herdin fool.

Forever Alone by sauronz 2011-12-20T01:08:00

I liked the movement of the ship... it felt nice... with the smoke trails and all.

OMFG FFS will you LEAVE me ALONE by yerahmeel 2011-12-20T01:21:00

Nice.. Great Graphics and audio.

Planet Earth Is Blue by Adhesion 2012-01-05T00:49:00

I think if I had a controller, I could have enjoyed this more, but the keyboard controls just didn't do it for me. (But I'm not quite sure there is a good keyboard control scheme for a dual stick that doesn't involve the mouse)

Motherless by sudojess 2012-01-05T00:18:00

Felt better when I saw others couldn't get past level 2 either. The first 2 levels had penguins in them though.

Wait up guys by pushpork 2012-01-05T00:31:00

Worked fine in chrome for me...

The Lone Terraformer by hyperturtle 2011-12-22T22:59:00

I like the concept. Took a while to figure everything out, as mentioned. But could be turned into something great, I believe.

Lucide Solitude by BortStudios 2011-12-20T01:49:00

The sound and mood were great.

Lonesome Runner by emveyh 2011-12-20T03:34:00

Worked fine on windows for me. I died a lot though.

Alone in Space by The Evil Cult 2011-12-20T02:06:00

Really a good start. The graphics and interface feel work. You should run with this and complete it!

Midas by Wanderlands 2011-12-21T19:32:00

Wonderful concept. A great little game!

Alone With a Phone by waynebeam 2012-01-07T22:26:00

Good concept. took a while to start to get the hang of it, not sure if I ever fully did. A slower and more forgiving start would do wonders.

LD23 — Tiny World

Bill in BSODia by vigrid 2012-04-25T04:16:00

Good job. Controls were a bit touchy at first, but found that to be a good thing at the end. Like the BSOD intro and theme.

Tiny World by Andrew 2012-04-27T01:12:00

Little loud, graphically, but a nice little concept. Some collision issues, but pretty fun.

Something Movable by YSelf Tool 2012-04-27T01:17:00

Needs moar douglas adams references.
Pretty fun little game. Took a while to adjust to the physics of the game... and quite suprised to see that levels seem to change on me. But overall, a good time. Good job!

Microbial by LukeRissacher 2012-04-25T04:58:00

Really good job. It was fun, and the graphics and audio really worked.

Deity by Blake 2012-04-25T04:05:00

Well done! Game looked and sounded great! Very well polished.

Pixel Wars by Kalabasa 2012-04-27T02:52:00

I thought I was the blue pixels at first. When I realized select and move... and I was Red... game cam quite enjoyable. Liked the burrowing, and the auto-shoot.
Some simple audio would have made a big difference.

Robots Are Red, Violets Are Blue by David Durham 2012-04-27T02:54:00

Once I figured it out.. really thought it was interesting. Love the idea of a giant robot delivering flowers... shortly before it crushes your house.

Recluse by chambers 2012-04-25T18:21:00

Took a little while to figure out what was going on... but glad you didn't tell me, as that would have completely ruined it.
I really miss the sound though.. it really would have added so much to the mechanic...

Tiny Card World by Pisti 2012-04-25T04:38:00

Not really a card guy, and it took me a while to figure it out, but it was really fun once I got into it. Good work!

Ant Command by Aaron San Filippo 2012-04-25T03:55:00

Audio and graphics were great. And the game was fun... for a while. A little bit of variety and this would be a great mobile game.

Jetpack Pixel by Dir3kt 2012-04-24T17:57:00

Good job. Simple, yet fun. As mentioned above, the day night transitions were a nice touch.

Tiny World! by unicornpooping 2012-04-23T14:53:00

The graphics work great for the game. Solid controls/collision for a platformer.

Adopt-A-World by thotdoctor64 2012-04-25T03:58:00

Yeah... the download link appears to be broken... May I suggest dropbox?

Delirium by Puccini 2012-04-24T18:20:00

Just as I really started to like it.. it ended :(
Some sound would really have gone a long way.

ZUNZANDA by SonnyBone 2012-04-25T03:37:00

Narration, intro, music, all awesome. Only complaint really is that the slower pace really makes "falling off the damn side" punishing.

Great work!

Tiny War by VDOgamez 2012-04-24T19:57:00

Really good idea. Maybe needs a little slower pace, as I felt the AI was a lot quicker than I.

Dr. Nano - tiny surgeon by McFunkypants 2012-04-23T14:46:00

Looks great! Loved the particle effects. It was really hard for me (couldn't get past the first boss), but I think that's because I was getting a poor frame rate (my current computer's fault, not yours), and I really suck at these sort of games (my fault, not yours). I'll replay it on my better computer later.

Pro Stew Chugger by Tourgen 2012-04-25T03:43:00

Really liked the audio and music. It fit in great.
A tad higher fire rate would have been nice. Also.. doors seemed to suck me in and spit me out... like really fast. Other than that.. good job!

terminus by zillix 2012-04-25T04:30:00

Nice work. I'm really happy that all my friends still like me after all those unfortunate axe accidents.

Spinworld by Acheron 2012-04-25T05:06:00

I used to rock me some missile command back in the day.
Graphics and audio were good, and I liked the planet rotation, and the multiple turrent per mouse button mechanics. But the game was a little on the hard side. The enemy missile speed is ok, the friendly missle speed and fire rate is ok, the small explosion radius is ok, but when you put those three together with limited ammo, its kinda punishing.

This Town (ABEFTTOU) by ThatSnail 2012-04-25T03:19:00

Just for reference... XNA games do not need to be packaged. You can zip up the files in your bin/release folder after a build. This is more convenient for people that already have it installed.

My Little Planetoid by matthias_zarzecki 2012-04-27T04:31:00

Game play was just a lot of "wait for the next thing"... but it was wrapped in a great presentation.

caveman defending his cave from aliens while monoliths drop down from the sky by bms 2012-04-23T14:58:00

Cavemen with missile launchers. I'm content.

TinyIsland by VDZ 2012-04-27T01:27:00

Neat little game.
Using Xact next time for your music files will significantly save on your download size. As xna folks in Ludum Dare, we have to extend every convenience we can :)

Mage Duel by Kitch 2012-04-24T19:40:00

Thanks everyone!

@Danvil - Sounds like you need to increase your Power (Up arrow or W)

@edg3 - It takes a random play from the list of already played games. So, if you get bad rolls on your random gen, you can play the same one over and over.

@barigorokarl - Or is it practical because it clears the way? ; )

Mage Duel by Kitch 2012-04-27T00:59:00

@ratboy2713 and @LukeRissacher - I think you both may have missed the details of "important note #1" above, on the off chance you come back and read this.

On a side note, given the nature of the game mechanics, I find the "AI tends to bury itself" comment rather amusing.

Thank you all for the comments... and schattenkind.net, thanks for the link. I will try and port it over.

Mage Duel by Kitch 2012-04-27T05:12:00

@LukeRissacher - ma'bad. I was picturing you playing the first round against the dummy and thinking, "An AI opponent would have been nice". :)

Side note, the terrain seed should save with the play through, only mirrored. Didn't get a chance to test that as much as I'd like though.

Get Tiny! by DomNomNom 2012-04-24T20:12:00

Like osmos, but a little trickier. Music was pretty neat. Needs more levels :)

Narrow by Drabiter 2012-04-25T04:40:00

Simple, but pretty fun. A little audio would go a long way

Fire Around by Naouak 2012-04-27T04:03:00

Nice take on the orbital shooter. Some more variety would have been nice, but great mix of play sound and graphics.

Minisk, You Will by Miltage 2012-04-27T04:16:00

Cool little game. Graphics worked really well.

#Totally BS!: Episode Pilot by avalonknight 2013-05-15T04:11:00

I second the TradeWars comment above, got some flashbacks. :) Nice work, and great art work.

Astral Offset by bytegrove 2013-04-29T23:31:00

really like the "log rolling" world... made for a really neat effect. nice little set of mechanics in there as well. nice job!

Factory Consultant by namuol 2013-04-30T03:36:00

Wow... very good! Very well polished (a very good tutorial AND a fast forward button in a ld game?! yes please) and very fun to play. Good job!

ABSTRAIT by Tkatchenko 2013-04-30T03:11:00

nice little puzzle game. simple audio would have added soooooo much.

that was a lot of fun. Thanks.

P-MNMSAOD by HD408 2013-05-15T03:47:00

really like the concept (being left handed, give me a keypad and I'm all over it). good work.

wow... great mechanics and well... nailed it all around. thanks for the experience!

PLOG by Gungnir 2013-05-15T03:57:00

Be Still by metadept 2013-05-20T04:56:00

very nice. nailed the theme perfectly.

Dehumanizer by UltimateWalrus 2013-04-30T03:25:00

wow.. once i figured out the controls.. (i'm a bit slow).. I had a lot of fun with it. great audio and and really liked the really big pixels.

Very nice. Most of what I have to say has been said above... good work!

Pete Hated Circles by bgr 2013-04-29T03:55:00

I liked it. really nice zoom in transitions, and it appears to never paly the same way twice.. (at least the way I play games) It's that kind of polish i really appreciate in LD. good work.

DREAM by BahamutZaero 2013-04-30T03:29:00

the art style is fantastic, very fitting.

Circular Symphony by cmjd 2013-05-15T04:07:00

really reminded me I need a new mouse... :) It's a really neat concept... could be expanded out in a lot of different ways.

Omega by shohs 2013-04-30T03:53:00

Could have used a bit more gravity :) but I really like where you are going with this. keep it up!

Velocibox by invi 2013-04-29T23:18:00

that was a lot of fun. very well polished. good work!

They Explode by Andre Kent 2013-04-29T23:26:00

the game looks fantastic, though I'm not sure i would file the art under "minimalism". i experienced an issue where i couldn't go up stairs (win 7, chrome)... which was an issue because that arrow kept pointing up... i also have that problem in real life though.. so it may just be me. overall, good work!

Too Small by triforcespark 2013-05-01T04:12:00

Pretty cool little concept. Good work!

28 Pixels by TobiasL 2013-04-30T03:48:00

ah... green go... red stop... i must be getting old.. once I got that... well...
loved the setup, and the game got really fun as it speeds up. the art just works, and hit the theme perfect. good work!
(don't see otomata used nearly as much as it seems it should in this compo... my first two ld entries were all about that program :) )

IAO by Rafael Sales 2013-05-15T03:29:00

Grid Blaster by Alucard Jay 2013-05-15T03:53:00

cool concept. really liked having to think about more than just firing like crazy. nice work.

wow... beautiful.

Mini Wars by cowieaaron 2013-04-30T02:54:00

I really liked this. The art, music and "action" just work well together.. I found myself really wanting to figure it out... then I read the comments... :( Then i sat and watched it for a while.. wow... like 10 minutes now. Something very minimalist.. (and relaxing) about it.

Essense by Jorjon 2013-05-15T03:41:00

very beautiful game. sound and graphics work well together. nice work.

Drug Hunt by kill0u 2013-05-15T03:34:00

That's two scratch games I've seen this LD. Can't wait to show my son. Can't wait for the I'm a Banana theme :)

Survive the doodle! by DigitalQR 2014-12-09T03:56:00

Really cool concept. For the first one, it's really awesome. Really like the drawing animations.
(Really don't like the mad sheekels :) )
Good job! Thanks!

Tv Simulator 2015 by Carl Graves 2014-12-29T06:02:00

This is a really cool concept. Channels, art and audio went really well together. Would have like a faster pace, but that's probably just me. Overall, really good work. Thanks!

Ninja Pow by Snail_Man 2014-12-10T02:20:00

Fun game. Reminds me a lot of crate box. Really like the death animations/particles. Quite satisfying. Thanks!

Break the Limits! by Volute 2014-12-11T02:30:00

Really cool entry! Original take on the mechanics, and quite easy to get into. (Thank you for keeping the "credits" between states :) ) Good work! Thanks.

The Mosquito Effect (mosquito simulator) by 01rafael 2014-12-16T05:17:00

Very interesting entry. Different, and fun. Looking for a theme connection... and not coming up with a lot... but good luck with it in the future! It's a really cool idea.
Thanks!

ScreenShots by ilikescifi 2014-12-14T21:12:00

Fun little game, like the take on the theme. Great work! Thanks!

Galactyc Budget Flights by Elemental Zeal Games Studios 2014-12-13T23:15:00

Heh, looks like we have the same taste in 48 hour game making concepts :) Really liked it, especially the graphics and sound effects. Good job! Thanks!

Not Making It by Mattias Wargren 2014-12-12T06:25:00

I personally resent the way you portray coders as shirtless grinning idiots, dancing around, wanting nothing more than to get to their computer...
wait a minute...
*puts shirt back on, stops smiling and dancing, and gets to computer*
Hey, nice game! Good work!

Tower Falling by dalbinblue 2014-12-10T03:07:00

Really fun game (Once I figured out what the different colored tiles were). Art was great and the gameplay was solid. A little audio would have worked wonders... but the sky is also blue, and water wet :)
Good job.. thanks!

Vindwoo by Webravenz 2014-12-29T06:12:00

Really great sound and feel... really couldn't rate without a second player... but seemed like it would be fun. Thanks!

SUPER FUN FAMILY PRIMETIME TELEVISION SIMULATOR by Random Seed Games 2014-12-16T05:11:00

Really cool implementation/gamification of my everyday activities. :) Really liked the control interface.. Really well done. Thanks!

by gre 2014-12-12T05:36:00

Finally a challenge! Thanks! Death marking worked really wel for it. Everything worked really well together. Good job!

CMY Invaders by KJScott 2014-12-12T05:07:00

Wow, really cool take on the genre... like the color shifts, and the soundtrack kicks! Thanks!

90 Second Portraits by SimonLarsen 2014-12-13T22:59:00

Great idea and execution. Was really a lot of fun (too bad I'm such a bad artist :) ) Good job! Thanks!

UON by cabezotta 2014-12-10T04:59:00

Trying to think of a way to make this game better...
Gameplay.. no... Audio.. no... ummm... you could change the... no... Different color scheme! Yes... I don't like purple...

Seriously though, really good job! Had a lot of fun (and will have more) with this one. Thanks!

Night of Slaughter by LogicielAllan 2014-12-10T03:11:00

Good job for a 9 hour project. Hit all the high points, sound, death effects and animation.

TMO by aaronjbaptiste 2014-12-10T05:39:00

Small gripes I could make, but I won't given... 1... I really liked the game... a lot... and 2... I think you nailed it given the time constraint...
Thanks! Really enjoyed this one.... I've given you more ellipsis than any... game... i've... commented on... thus far...

Meme Pixels THE GAME by TrentSterling 2014-12-10T06:08:00

Game looks great, and really liked the whole audio. Not sure if my non-ability to shoot the yellow things is my fault, for being left handed... (mouse didn't seem to do anything)
Game looks fricking fantastic though. :)

No Idea Man by phi 2014-12-12T05:23:00

Really cool take on difficulty progression... liked it, and the art style really fit it. Would have like a little faster pace, but I'm crazy like that. Good job. Thanks!

SnowCard by mrexcessive 2014-12-13T03:51:00

Nice little puzzle game with a cool look and feel. Good job. Thanks!

Swords and Hammers by nicotuason 2014-12-09T04:09:00

Wow! That's a great implementation, solid mechanics and a fab art style. Great job!

Thanks!

Moving Melody by ChuiGum 2014-12-10T03:55:00

Nice work! Would have loved a hit on the note pickup, but otherwise, nicely built, fun city scape was beautiful, and loved the groovin clouds :) Thanks!

Galaxia by greysphere 2014-12-09T02:45:00

Certainly interesting.. Little candy box meets conquering the galaxy kind of thing.

Only criticism would on the pacing. I could see a faster pace, and that might work... but a slower pace would be awesome, so I could have this running in my other window while I played other games. But.. that's just me still wishing for my perfect netflix watching game. :)

Overall good job! Thanks!

Screen One by Ranmara 2014-12-11T02:19:00

Really nice entry. Art and sound effects were fab, and a really cool concept. Good job!

Walk the Plank by MiniBobbo 2014-12-08T05:01:00

Love it. This is what a ludum dare game is about... quick, simple and to the point. Taking a small mechanic and making something challenging. Thanks!

Frosty Ninja by belva1234 2014-12-09T00:40:00

LOL. Good work. Thanks!

Down The Rabbit Hole by cxsquared 2014-12-09T04:00:00

I had the same problem as karol, couldn't jump high enough :( But I like that the previous levels make the tiles for the next levels. Really cool concept.
Good work. Thanks!

Down The Rabbit Hole by cxsquared 2014-12-09T04:02:00

I take that back... I totally didn't notice the double jump (I think its if you're standing still only?) Continuing on... :) (sorry bout that)

Pixel Peon by jojocanard 2014-12-09T03:52:00

Nice work, and good take on the theme. I like games where you build and paint pixels :)

Mantis breaks the Rules by Gaspard_ 2014-12-08T23:59:00

I got icecream and eaten by a mantis. Would play again.
(liked the piano jam in the background... got pretty heavy when the mantis came in :) )

Explosivo by Seihi 2014-12-09T00:12:00

Fun game. Simple, but great graphics and a terrific bomb sound, and a clear ui made it work! Good job!

CHANGE - A homeless roguelike survival simulator by DanHayesGamer 2014-12-12T05:58:00

That made me feel a bit... not a bad thing though. Good job! Thanks.

Avoid Rage by jackrugile 2014-12-14T22:05:00

Really great concept, simple, fun, clean and right up my alley. I could see benefiting from some super hexagony screen warps and rolls in the future :)
Great job! Thanks!

BBQ DAD by Luke Molnar 2014-12-10T02:40:00

That was alot of fun.... got stuck in the 200 point range, as it appears I raised a bunch of steak snobs. :)
Thanks! Good Job!

Destroy Snow Men by elliottd 2014-12-14T21:18:00

Really good look and feel, and great take on the theme. Would have liked a little more gameplay, but still was a really good time. Thanks!

Bit Raiders (multiplayer) by Hexicube 2014-12-11T06:18:00

Tried to give it a go... but I got a long series of "Connecting to Master Server" / "Unable to connect". I'll try again later.

BTW, +1000 for the key rebinding options. Us soutpaws really, really appreciate that. :)

Spiral Wings by Joe Williamson 2014-12-14T07:13:00

I must be missing something. I watched a commercial, then I saw a white screen? (IE, firefox, and chrome) Advise?

Polyfill by Namide 2014-12-12T05:02:00

Really cool idea. Really like the rotation and the audio cues! Little faster pace, to encourage a sense of urgency would have been nice, but overall good job!
Thanks!

Law Breaker by deepnight 2014-12-13T23:27:00

Great entry as always. Well polished and fun experience. Thanks!

Gorilla Rampage by bigdad1630 2014-12-08T04:56:00

Monkey and bananas always work. Always. 11/10.

Hauler 31 by benmcnelly 2014-12-09T00:59:00

I got sooooooo lost in the maze :( But loved the backend banter and the theme take is great.
Good Work! Thanks!

0000 : Press Z by alvarop 2014-12-11T05:48:00

Have to reconsider some of my previous votes after this one. Good job! Thanks!

You Have the Con by OccamsRazor 2014-12-08T23:48:00

Heh, I made a control panel based sort of game as well... but ended up very different. Amazing the number of takes on the control panel :)

I liked the game. It reminded me a lot of an old star trek like game I played on the old 386. Had a strong strategy element, and added in a little of that frantic feeling in the later waves. Good job!

Nooo Bath Time!!! by Gabbmonkey 2014-12-08T06:21:00

It was good. I'm left handed, so the A-D-Space didn't work for me, but I didn't hold that against you. It was a good time... Thanks!

Last Rooftop Hero by Phoenix849 2014-12-09T03:22:00

Wow, very well polished. Sprites look awesome, and music and sounds were great! Pretty fun gameplay too, after I learned that jumping helps a lot.

Good work! Thanks.

HexaPong by fancypants 2014-12-12T06:03:00

Now that was fun. Finally got myself a challenge :) Thanks!

BIRDS! by barryrowe 2014-12-13T03:39:00

First I thought this was a game about frying birds.. then I read the instructions... I am glad it was not a game about frying birds :)
Really great overall look and audio feel, and the gameplay felt new and relaxing. Thnaks!

Vertical Defence by zanenga 2014-12-08T04:34:00

Wow.. that difficulty ramps up pretty quick until you figure out what you're doing :) Really nice. Soundtrack is tops. Good workd!

Velcro by camlang 2014-12-14T20:49:00

Really slick looking game and great audio integration! Really good work! Thanks!

Natquik by shadow64 2014-12-12T05:31:00

Couldn't make it past Natquik? But a really cool look and sound. Thanks!

Natquik by shadow64 2014-12-13T03:44:00

@shadow64, I get it now, and do not see why I didn't get it before... Must have been a Thursday... never could get the hang of Thursdays...

Joke's on you by arlefreak 2014-12-12T06:32:00

Really cool little concept, but really easy to master (at least I think). Great start to something that could be really cool. Good job!

murder of Zafu by Franklin's Ghost 2014-12-12T05:19:00

Wow.. that was really pretty. I didn't actually win (thought I tried about 20 times), but the overall experience was still pretty great. Good work! Thanks!

Contact Cowboy by jrap 2014-12-08T23:53:00

Looks like a lot of fun... spy party style. I'll wait for player two to join then come back by.

Man on the Field by Double Zero One Zero 2014-12-16T05:28:00

This game is really awkward for someone cursed with left-handedness like myself... but 72 hours doesn't leave a lot for accessibility.. and I totally understand :)
Really nice entry. The overall look, feel and sounds worked really well. Little cart-lifey feel with a lot less "annoying", with a really great and appropriate soundtrack and very polished presentation. Good job! Thanks!

Greeny GRUB by pht59x 2014-12-20T17:59:00

Pretty fun game. The controls took a lot of getting used to, but I learned to work with them as I got used to them. Some alpha or additive blending on the circles would have been nice, especially on some of the later levels where green and red circles can hide.
Overall, good job though! Thanks!

Beat Jumper by fueelin 2014-12-10T03:00:00

Really like it when audio is incorporated into gameplay... (Just wish the bass line on this one was a bit easier :) ) Tough, but really cool. Good Job. Thanks!

Sweep Stacks by excaliburjs 2014-12-12T05:49:00

Really nice audio work there! I played this a lot longer than I should have because of that. Really good work. Thanks!

4m2 by Lolwned 2014-12-08T06:25:00

Really like the option to spawn the new wave. (That's great for us old folks, in these sorts of games) Everything was tight, straight forward and golden for this sort of game. Thanks!

The Worm by xWarZonex 2014-12-09T00:21:00

Heh... Played the main menu for like 3 minutes and had a good time :)

After I got to the game... I ate logs, and bunnies and people, people heads, and worms... Then I got small and dieded. It was the best day ever.

Good job!

Swarm by stephenhaney 2014-12-08T05:08:00

Really liked that. Would like a lot more.. but you know.. 48 and all that. Thanks!
Soundtrack is kickass... btw.

Super Pong Quest by Quarterflip 2014-12-10T02:15:00

Picking up the monitor and throwing it into the bookcase after getting my rear handed to me in pong, was probably one of my best experiences in computer gaming. Good job! Thanks!

Typro by PeerPlay 2014-12-09T03:32:00

That's not worse than mine :) Really liked it. The default music was great, and the effect and vibe were really chill. (With the occasional loud explosion). Even got a bit hectic there in the end.

Gonna make my kids play it for practice :)

Thanks!

The Second Thought or Please, Don't Touch Anything by Four Quarters 2014-12-14T22:17:00

Really nice concept, and the whole experience was really cool. Only got three of the endings, but that's pretty good for me, as I'm terrible at these sort of games:)

Good job! Thanks!

All Is Lost by plauk 2014-12-13T23:36:00

Really nice. Really enjoyed the spinny effects on the planet, though i started to get a bit nauseous when I enjoyed them too much :) Overall, nice game and take on the theme. Thanks!

Terra Kata by jmborden 2014-12-08T07:05:00

Ditto the above.. play in the web link, not the embed!

Nice work! Some of the playtroughs gave me a little too much starting terrain, if you know what i mean :)

But overall, was a good time.

Thanks!

Entire Game Off One Screen by mr_mg 2014-12-09T01:16:00

Cool, its like pool. And apparently I'm rhyming now..
Great way to make the theme work for you!

Mobile Life by tonypai 2014-12-09T03:17:00

Lol... at first I thought he was carrying a gun in the first two screens :) That changed the story in interesting ways. But, finally figured out it was a phone.. and well.. I have a lot of people I know I'll be sending this to. They need to play it.

Good work. Thanks!

Just a Little Screen Time by ppupae 2014-12-14T23:03:00

Audio and graphics were stunning, and the channel flipping was cool. As others have mentioned, wasd controls felt a little wonky in this type of game, but overall, really good job! Thanks!

Hazard Lab by JohnGalt 2014-12-09T00:36:00

Whew.. that's a tough game. But a really solid concept and a lot of fun. Very good looking game as well, lot of potential here. Good work. Thanks!

Cardinal Attack by Insality 2014-12-10T04:37:00

Bullethell... my old nemesis... we meet again... though this time the advantage is mine. I really like you.

Really great job. And I had that opinion 10 games in before I discovered the flip mechanic... Thanks!

Swotch by Ulydev 2014-12-10T04:06:00

Dang, really like this one. Fast replay, screenshake, audio effects and color scheme just really worked... Great Job! Thanks.

MRBOX by karlipoppins 2014-12-10T02:05:00

Well.. that changed pace awful quick! I probably could have ended up beating it if this game didn't have so many credits. Loved the piano in the background.
Good job! Thanks!

Diametric by JFern 2014-12-10T03:40:00

Nice relaxing experience. Zen like. Very nice.

Good work! Thanks

Go Out Screen by allanolivei 2014-12-13T23:07:00

Pretty cool concept and gameplay! Would have liked a little more :) Good job! Thanks!

Clear Screen by Valtaroth 2014-12-08T05:23:00

This is awesome. Right up my alley. Only played it twice, but this nailed the economy game. Book marked to come back to later, as it appears I need more factories. :)

Hamburger in Hell by anotak 2014-12-10T05:43:00

Liked the screen mechanic, kept you from being greedy. But I mourn all the dead donuts... I like donuts.. :)

Poltergeist by DoppleDanger 2014-12-08T04:53:00

Pretty good little scare game. You may want to look into the replay.. the second time I played, she started out passed out. Had to reload.

Beat+Trak by Lynx 2014-12-10T04:29:00

Once I got into it it was bliss til about 100 secs or so :) Really great work, and soundtrack was great. Loved the beat based visuals, and the simplistic visual style. (Its a music game amirite?)

For the post compo version that you are going to make (because I said so :) ) Go all out!

Smash N Bash by 5k0d 2014-12-14T22:55:00

Simple, yet really satisfying, with a good slice of that mobile game addictiveness. Good work! Thanks!

Houston, We've Got a Problem by MrBadIvan 2014-12-13T23:47:00

Really fun thinking about combinations and watching the results. Love this sort of gameplay. Thanks for the entry! Good work!

Teeny Tiny Little Ball by FerraWare 2014-12-09T00:09:00

Lot of interesting and fun mechanics there. Bonus points for making my wife scream "What are you doing up there!" in response to my rapid spacebar slapping.

Streaming simulator by glaze_96 2014-12-08T06:35:00

Nice work. Lot of potential here, just needs some fleshing out. I didn't even know streamers had stress :)

Dabug by Devark 2014-12-11T05:40:00

Nice polished artwork, and good amount of enemy/powerup variation. The "feel" just fit right in to the genre.

Little tip for accessibility and the WASD front for the future, some folks have different keyboard layouts, and some us us, like me unfortunately were born left handed. It's good to have the arrows, or at least alternatives, as an option. But not held against you :)

Good work.. Thanks!

SPIN-2 by hypnoticbytes 2014-12-10T04:00:00

Wow. Damn fine job. It had musics, and maths, and screnshake, and awesome color schemes. Great work! Thanks

Ethics Simulator: Fishbowl Life by Mindcake 2014-12-09T00:31:00

That was cool! My son's learning scratch right now, can't wait to show it to him.
Bob the fish didn't make it to heaven though, cause he got a cold :( I shall mourn his loss.

Boing! by Evergreen Games 2014-12-08T06:30:00

Gratz on your first entry!

SIRTET by stray 2014-12-12T07:01:00

Pretty cool little take on the idea. It was really fun, but lacked the "urgency" of the others. That may be intentional, though. Good work! Thanks!

Microscope by johnbrynte 2014-12-14T20:13:00

Awesome experience. Very simple and everything worked well together. Good work, thanks!

Dogs Peeing Everywhere by matt125 2014-12-09T03:09:00

Lol... sweet take on the genre. Good work!

An Icy Night In Snowman's Land by Jacic 2014-12-09T00:24:00

Good work! Really liked the funky background music :)

DFGH Mission by Germain 2014-12-09T03:06:00

AGH! Cannot get past Uranus!
And you are right, very similar to another game I saw :)

My muscle memory has been trained all weekend to respond to knobs and buttons in a completely different way... and it's hard to overcome that.

Awesome job, though... thanks!

Quiet Life by VDZ 2014-12-10T05:03:00

Gonna have to give this one some time, but good job. Lots of complexity here :)

Beat Bop Delicious by Kitch 2014-12-07T23:41:00

@bugninja Yeah, it's not my best design. If you click on any of the red buttons it "cycles" It's based of an old analog control I ran across once. (Needs smaller yellow lights to be more clear, and I do have a couple hours left) Thanks!

Beat Bop Delicious by Kitch 2014-12-08T00:05:00

@Germain Ha! Thanks! Seems to be a trend with me. Last LD I was in, two of us gave our games the same obscure name :) Cant wait to see your take on it!

Beat Bop Delicious by Kitch 2014-12-08T06:47:00

@Raptor85... It's pretty much the definition of pixel perfect for me in chrome, IE and Fireforx... curious about your setup.. let me know.. and I'll do my damndest.. Thanks!

V for Vectory: Maximum Overquill Edition by quill18 2014-12-08T04:49:00

First impression... too much, coming way too fast at me (I'm old)... but I think I can see where this is going, and I like it.
I think what this needs is a lot more attention than I have right now coming off the LD weekend. Coming back to this one later..

Toytown by Frozen Fractal 2014-12-09T00:50:00

Ran into a bug where it would never stop telling me to rebuild houses (this was after a restart).
Otherwise, really good work. Lots of complexity in there for such a short time.
Thanks!

Rainbow Maze by FrozenCow 2014-12-13T23:31:00

Brilliant take on the theme. Really liked all the zoom options. Good work! Thanks!

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

BED✰HOGG by 01010111 2015-05-12T00:45:00

Great. Just great.

Eye Rush by asobi tech 2015-04-20T03:33:00

Wow... that was a lot of fun. Everything looked great, sound was awesome, and that mechanic was really novel, fun and easy to learn and work with. Really good job.

Thanks!

Tuba Knight by dalbinblue 2015-04-21T04:24:00

Ok... so that's like a really, like really... good take on the theme... but answer me this...
How could you feature a sousaphone and not have some sort of oom-pah music as a front runner for the soundtrack? I mean... really... c'mon...

But seriously... the theme, art and music (with it's blatant disregard for oom-pahness) was spot on and really worked. Loved the suck in/blow out mechanic. One of my favorites thus far.

If I had to name a complaint, the controls were a little off from my usual for this sort of game, I kept blowing and sucking when I meant to jump... but that's my own left handed "different strokes" problem...

Good job! Thanks!

Catcall Simulator 2015 by qapn 2015-04-24T01:12:00

I suspect the "offended" people above didn't play the game. Playing through, the reactions as well as finding the "secret ending" (Or win state, as I call it) make the point pretty dang clear.

Unless they are pro-girl-honking? Then... well.. yes, this could be offensive, I guess.

The game itself, had what it needed to have. The looks and sounds worked together real well to produce a fitting atmosphere. And it had a message.

Really good work! Thanks!

Compassion by masterboth 2015-04-24T00:52:00

Really nice look. Really interesting concept as well. Took me a while to figure out what I was doing, only to find out I was doing it right the whole time.

Thanks!

Saber Disk by Neonlare 2015-05-05T01:10:00

Fabulous presentation, music and art style was spot on. Game was really fun as well, really liked the 2.5d take. Good work.

Bacannon by donan 2015-04-20T03:59:00

Really good look and feel, and the background track was awesome.

The Great Debate by MiniBobbo 2015-04-21T01:39:00

This is really good. And excellent with two players, having our own little sub debate about the current rule... in the debate simulator.

Presentation was fantastic. Really good job.

Thanks!

Sal and Papa by McFunkypants 2015-04-21T01:57:00

Really like the two handed controls. Lotta fun. Presentation is fantastic, and the boy gets to add a voice credit to his name :)

Thanks!

Blackboard Wars by KedumeBits 2015-04-20T23:07:00

Really well polished shooter. Everything felt great, and looked fantastic. I didn't rate on audio, as technically... it should be created as well for the compo. But it was used really well.

Thanks.

Square Sprint by jackrugile 2015-04-20T02:51:00

Screenshake. :)

Really cool game. Looks great, love the palette and grain.. And the music rocks.

I started off sort of slow, but once I figured I wasn't constrained to grid movement/collision, it was all on.

The mouse was really laggy for me, which is a shame, as that really took away from the core mechanics... but that could be something on my end.

502 with 301 Clicks...

Thanks!

Words by Luke Molnar 2015-04-21T00:04:00

Really liked the games look and feel, the mood and words felt so real... and that's all the rhyming I gots...

Really liked the mechanic... waiting til the last second to press a button. Gives a rather tense feel in a seemingly relaxed environment.

Good job!

Tomorrow by Kate Kligman 2015-04-22T05:05:00

Really liked the premise, and the city feel/parallax was great. Liked how it got faster as you gathered more as well.
Thanks!

Coin Cannon by Lancelot Gao 2015-04-20T23:16:00

Animation and art style on this was superb. Background track was really great as well.

Got hard for me really fast, but made me count mouse clicks for the first time... in my life... I think... I'll need to get back to you on that..

Thanks!

The TV Remote by Leandrus 2015-04-24T00:48:00

Really cool concept, and could be a lot of fun. The limited lives felt a bit punishing, especially when starting out. But a really cool idea and great concept.
Thanks

Fun, pretty and interesting, and sounded fantastic. Had a tough time with the controls, as I'm left handed, so WASD really doesn't work for me. But good job overall.

I really liked this... really suck me in. I was having issues with what I assume was the last scene, with all my observating :), and the mouseover mechanic... It was really hit and miss. Really want to come back and beat this, though.

Presentation was really great. Loved the artwork, and story and audio... really well done.

Thanks.

Good job. I liked it. It was difficult, but not overly so for this sort of game. Everything looked and sounded awesome.

Only real criticism I have is that the foreground color is a bit too close to the background color. It can be hard for us old fogies to figure out whether we're falling or landing.

Good job though. Thanks!

I liked it. Really got interesting when the kitty came into play. Like the decision to vary the jump sounds as well... quick and easy call. (You can also tweak the pitch, as a quick and dirty... makes a big difference)

Good job! Thanks.

Ran into loss of collision bug on the second document level.. and would have liked a tad more gravity... but other than that, really good take on the theme and really liked the art style. Good job. Thanks!

An Unconventional Weapon by Rulrite 2015-04-20T03:05:00

That was really cute, and uplifting, the depressing :)

Really good job. Artwork is terrific, and really liked the transitions. Would have liked to see (uh... hear) a little background melody going through the same transition... but I completely understand.

Thanks!

NOPAEW by Anikki 2015-04-20T03:48:00

Really fantastic look and feel. Love the detail.

If I had one complaint, it's the respawn times makes dying really brutal... And I died a lot in games like these. But it may be on my end.

Really good job.

Ghost Prosecutor: Closing Statement by awestsecurity 2015-04-24T00:57:00

Ha... that's a cool take on the genre. Really liked the mechanics, and atmosphere, and the sounds. Great job.

Controls worked for me the second time, on the mirror site. Really looks good, and dig the background music.

Thanks!

Agent Of Souls by Norbex 2015-04-24T00:28:00

Soccer Punch by PapyPilgrim 2015-04-20T22:46:00

Fun little experience... win/lose conditions and all that... but what was implemented, mechanics, art and sound, felt really solid and satisfying. This would be killer on a touch screen.

I did find myself clicking outside the game bounds, which would case the game to pause. A minor annoyance, but a full screen toggle might be something worth looking into.

Thanks
