Friendship Snake by XMunkki 2011-12-20T05:57:00

Very fluid movement and easy to control. I liked the snake's color changing tail mechanic, though I wasn't sure how to make it change slower/faster. I just kept hitting green circles and hoped it was the right thing to do.

Overall, good execution!

The Fruits of Solitude by Cooshinator 2011-12-20T05:51:00

Nice work, and fresh idea! This 3rd person perspective treatment is reminiscent of the old 8-bit days, and the rotation/forward movement was smooth. Could use some texture on the water to make the movement speed more apparent. And as Dmurph points out, the rotation felt a little off. Good audio track and digitized breeze noise, and the day/night cycle was a nice touch.

I made it to the north edge of the map, then couldn't tell if I was still making progress or not. Probably too many squares to explore them all before running out of patience. But again, nice work. I was impressed!

solo trader by anthonyl 2011-12-20T05:18:00

The overall game is rough (e.g. travel didn't seem to work?), but I gave you high marks for innovation due to the real-time trading floor. It's something I haven't seen before in a single player game (especially a text adventure).

Alone by Dark Acre Jack 2011-12-20T17:32:00

Awesome work, Jack. Spot on with the theme, and very moody. The terminals were a bit clunky to use (would be nice to click once to show full text, then click again to advance text), but the clunky movement controls actually contributed to the sense of anxiety. Not sure how much sense some of the exam questions/answers made, but they were fun to read and very imaginative.

Overall, excellent work! Some of the highest ratings I've given yet!

Last breath by deepnight 2011-12-20T06:32:00

This is impressive. The art style is enchanting, the story compelling, the gameplay is tight and engaging. Very nice work overall.

Le Looping Castaway by Atridas 2012-01-03T02:49:00

I liked the concept. I think it could have a real Toejam and Earl feel to it with some polish. The text was perhaps unnecessarily harsh/adult, but the story was otherwise cute. It'd be nice if the eat/drink dialog went away after the first use, so the user didn't have to mash the space button each time they ate/drank.

I enjoyed the combination of 3D world with 2D sprites in perspective, and the vibrant, homebrew graphics. WASD worked, though I found it wanting for diagonal movement. (WASD also seemed to interfere with using trees/water).

Good use of different terrain/worlds. Good theme fit. Would've loved some kitchy audio in there. Maybe in a follow-up?

Overall, good work!

Kaylin Norman's Generic Series: Platformer by Twisted Devotion 2011-12-20T03:28:00

Good fit for the theme, and nice work on the audio track. The music is both well done and lonely sounding. Some of the controls were a bit fiddly (especially jumping when on the moving platforms), and the game froze upon touching the 5th fragment. It's a compelling story, though, and I believe some polish and plot closure could make it quite interesting!

Dead World by Saxon Douglass 2011-12-20T05:31:00

Strong start! I was immediately impressed by the overall looks. The server architecture sounds impressive, though I couldn't verify whether it worked. Neat environments, and endearing art style for characters/creatures. The two tracks were fun to listen to, but then it was just silent.

I wasn't able to do anything besides explore, even after trying to arrange items according to the help file. (Did I use the wrong items, I wonder?) The game has promise!

Separation Anxiety by TaintedFork 2012-01-03T04:47:00

Aced the theme. Especially with the ambiguous ending. The puzzles were good too. A few had me going a while before figuring out. Good use of tutorial levels on the teleporter, though the red squares were a bit weak on tutorials (still fine, though, as the game supports easy retries).

Not much to criticize here. Graphics were simplistic, but appropriate. Audio would've been nice. And the fade effects between text messages were a bit slow. But good work overall.

Do NOT Hug Me! by ziomorti 2011-12-20T05:41:00

Interesting concept. I can identify with the misanthropic vibe. The WC and paper spawns were a funny feature, and the "ugh" voice at game start was a nice touch too.

Felt a little claustrophobic, since the enemies all sprung at once and overlapped player, but I guess the point was to fight them off, after all. I think adding a knockback to player's attack would've made a big difference. Nice work, though!

Don't Touch Me by mklee 2011-12-20T02:54:00

Concise and clean entry for such a short development time. Easy to figure out, works as you'd expect. The one hitch in gameplay is that gray dudes end the game if they spawn on top of you (player can't control). I sort of expected they'd not hurt you until they stopped blinking. Otherwise, nice work!

Alone in Love by defiantburrito 2011-12-20T06:15:00

Hey, great work! I squinted and saw the game you wanted to make. Cute dialog, and admirable message. I loved the rolling score review at the end. My only complaint is that the dialog was a bit slow to wait for. But otherwise it was good! Just needs some sound and a bit more content!

Enslaving Davement by Sean Hogan (anodyne/even the ocean) 2011-12-20T03:14:00

Haha, love the story. I don't know if it made sense, but it made me grin. Well-behaved controls, challenging but not impossible, endearing low-fi graphics. My only complaint was the Q, Y, X, and P keys you mapped were far enough apart that I was constantly shifting my hand positions at the end of each level. I would tighten up the keys into a smaller cluster in the future. But good work otherwise!

The Race Home by ned366 2011-12-20T05:35:00

Beautiful work. The art style and parallax look great, and the minecart + shooter combo is challenging. (Love the swinging arm anim for Molly sprite!)

Control scheme was a bit rough on the fingers (A,D,R,O,P hard to reach all at once), but solid game overall.

Long Walk Home by JAH2488 2011-12-20T05:06:00

Wow, that was pretty cool! There's a lot of depth here (excuse the pun). Now that I look back at the items list, there are actually fewer items than I perceived, but that's what counts. Felt like a real adventure, with lots of possibility. Took me a minute or so to figure out how to use the jetpack (had to re-read the instructions), but it worked well once I did.

No audio was a bummer, but easily rectified in future versions. Nice work, and I would play it again!

Alone On Planet 54672 by kj654321 2011-12-20T06:21:00

I made it! Good game, overall. Concise, and easy to get into. Looks pretty slick too. There wasn't much challenge or player choice, but it was fun to play with nevertheless. I liked that you could run out of fuel and still coast slowly onto the refueller (sort of a second chance).

Might be fun to reduce gravity a bit so you don't stick to the ground (e.g. allow jumps off ramps with enough momentum)

Nice work!
