Nice - as you said, unfinished. But, totally playable!

Nice - as you said, unfinished. But, totally playable!
Similar feelings as the above. In addition I thought this game was really, really funny - with the space units, the space president, and watching the video ending "Your tea is delicious" (and frozen!)
Interesting concept...maybe a backstory on the guy could have made things funnier - or in general, sounds and maybe any sort of music thing!
Cool, interesting concept! Maybe a short story would be of some help and the graphics maybe a little darker or something, as well as SFX/some music to set the tune.
It has a nice framework for something you could build some other ideas upon, keep it up
The character walks too slowly, I think. It's a nice concept, but the controls (and music) could use a little work.
Hm a little bit hard for me, but I thought the sound effects were funny "..gas...". Enjoyable pro-tips.
This was funny. Like the pixel art - but it's a bit slow-paced.
HAHAHAHA THE FUNK MUSIC WHEN THE GIRL STAYS OVERNIGHT. I laughed out loud at that...well played.
I found this game creepy as hell, actually...I don't know, it was unsettling. Maybe because I always picked "Graveyard".
like the maze generation, time limit's a bit too short or the character feels too slow..
Your web link is broken!
Dug the music. Shots went a little slow.
I really like how you use particles to make the terrain appear. The atmosphere is nice, too. I don't really like the controls, they're super slippery.
The graphics are disorienting, but I think with other things this could be fun.
I like the use of physics, and I think the wheel feet is very funny, although the whole "Alone" thing seems really forced "I am so alone!".
Tough and could use instructions. I like how the graphics/audio go together.
I liked your pixel art - but the bg/fg mix in too much and there isn't enough contrast to see what is steppable on without squinting.
Nice idea, of course could be expanded on and balanced a bit as avoiding the cats is pretty hard at first. As well as a faster tutorial where I can scroll through at my pace in some regards.
I thought the animation was damn funny, and the game was somewaht enjoyable too even though I mashed the hell out of X and got destroyed by the boss at the end "Love Slug?"
Nice text-based adventure. There are a few glitches - the inventory doesn't seem to work, battles don't end after you kill the enemy, and I got stuck when I was next to the MRI room and the Intensive care unit. Also sometimes I walked east and it said "you walked west". But keep working on these adventures and writing and yall'll get better at it!
I enjoyed the music, it somehow fit in with the game! Also I enjoyed the first stages and then got a little bored.
clever take on the theme - also quite funny with your "weapons".
Aw the guy's so awkward. Also yeah the dialogue was a bit slow, but cute story.
@kato9: Yeah, all the levels should be possible to beat completely. I'll admit the game is a bit difficult and takes a bit to get used to, as some have pointed out - if I were to expand on this idea I'd have a tutorial or something so people knew the elements better (in contrast to the rambling instructions I give in the beginning). That or lighten up on the time constraints.
x____x yeah I thought I uploaded a ending-fixed version a few weeks ago. Guess not. Updated it to add correctly and show the ending, which (IMO) isn't worth playing again for unless you're sadistic! (REally, it's not!!)
I'm working on a full version of the game. Rehaul some stuff - solidify the graphics style to be consistently crappy :P, fix the jumping glitch (betcha wished yall found that out earlier! You don't have to be on the ground to jump..ha!). Remapping keys. And of course expanding stages, making the story not confusing as hell, etc.
Gameplay needs balancing, monsters move too fast. The audio and visuals are a little unsettling in a good way, nicely done over there.
Hm...I think the oil runs out too fast, and the controls are a little difficult with having to mash buttons to move. The visual ambiance is nice, though.
I get a "No suitable graphics card found..." error - what do I need to run this? I have a middle of the line processor, 32-bit Dell running Windows 7, afaik the graphics card isn't anything fancy.
It works :) I found it fun! Liked the different kinds of hazards you had, the ambiance was sort of creepy, too.
Hmm, maybe make the story optional on a second attempt at playing? It took awfully long to start and restart after I died the first time.
I really like the art style and the game mechanic - but for me, when too many blocks turn gold, the game slows down a lot.
Short of course, maybe could have used items at some point? Although the sleep alone ending was cute.
I liked your music a lot, as well as the graphics style. Thought the game's pace could be a little faster.
Tense with the noise sound effect!
Was there a health bar? Maybe I missed it. I liked the atmosphere with the graphics and smoke effects.
I liked your animations. Thought the controls were a bit spotty, as well as the aiming, although I see you updated it with better controls and fixing the death mechanics, so cool!
I'm really confused and had a faint idea of what I was doing. I thought the audio was really cool, though! I finished the first level. What does the speed up/slow down light thing do?
I thought the gameplay was a bit slow but I did enjoy finding the first two items and the music playing, which was also enjoyable in itself.
The jumping is awkward and things feel empty without sound. But it's a good start for your first LD!
Like the farming vibes and the lack of farmville/zynga evilness! It was cute and works pretty well so you should do more if you liked making this
Thought the game progression was a little slow, but graphics were cute as well as the gameplay. Maybe more developed title and transition screens?
Nice aesthetics! Cool concept too, I liked the rotating idea...
Interesting use with the color changing, I thought!
Neat usage of twitter feeds, diggin' the aesthetics...
It was a pretty cool concept, I think, once I started figuring out what was going on!. Sound effects were incredibly annoying though.
Nice implementation of the helicopter game. I think the 3D looks really good, too.
Also I took the ads off my game, give it another shot!
It's a cute game. The cutscenes were quite long and the actual platforming not too exciting, but I do like your choice of game music in some spots, and the use of expressions for characters faces.
A great concept, although the music should be removed entirely. Growing the world was fun and did work well, though.
It was a cute platformer! I found the controls quite difficult to use though as I kept slipping and dying easily. PxTone for the music? :)
Digging the Chicago.
So very confusing, but so very funny!
The game was fine, but the concept not particularly new. I thought it controlled well though and the pacing was also good, plus decent music.
Digging the graphics (like everyone else!)
Like your music, thought the game got a little hard after the first stage, possibly from the player jumping mechanics?
Cute, very well polished with graphics. Concept not particularly original but you did something interesting with it with the mispellings! Liked the music, too.
Also do you have a link to the source? I'd like to see how the letter stuff is handled.
I thought your concepts of the game were done well. You should work a bit on your sound and art though!
My Brian is too small!
Cute concept and I like you trying to use the story. try to work on general aesthetics with sound and graphics to make a more overall coherent experience!
Cool concept with capturing! Controls were sketchy, but I liked your graphics work a lot and in general, the depth of the game!
Odd song. Minimalistic graphics are nice. Like the concept with surrounding the balls!
I thought it was quite cute and appreciate the humor :)
Dug the song and cute graphics, but yes the game mechanics were not fleshed out!
The game was quite difficult and impossible to play, but I did find the audio humorous o_O nice first game!!!!! KEEP IT UP!
Awesome polish on this and great innovative concept related to the theme as well. enjoyed playing this
Bahaha, what a great ending. And the humor throughout.
Nice mechanic with the loss. Thought some invincibility with getting hit would be nice, or some checkpointing.
I really, really like your song that you wrote for it. You should use all these little mechanics in another game...
Appreciate the work with the graphics and sound a lot!
Not sure what was happening! Liked how the gems stacked up on my hand though.
I wasn't sure what to do in the grass world, but I do like the effort with the music!
I thought the block placing was a little bit annoying, but it looks nice for a first submission! Might want to think abou checkpoints with a block puzzle game? What were the watercolors in the beginning? I feel like I skipped them.
rate my game if you would (uid 7853)!
Innovative implementation of the cellular automata stuff! Not my cup of tea for games, but others would definitely like this a lot.
Cute graphics and enjoyable song. game felt a little empty though but you could definitely do more with it!
Whoa, neat graphics and sound too. The voice acting I found to be a little scary! Quite different from other entries too, something spooky I find with the art style/music/voices etc.
Cute, hard to tell what I run in to or not.
Wasn't a huge fan of the game itself, but the visual/audio aesthetics are very nice. Only complaint was the large black font choice. I really like the song and graphics.
Very innovative game, but 2nd stage too hard? More would be cool..
Wow, I thought this was a very neat idea once I sort of got the hang of it. An end goal would be nice but I haven't really seen this before. Nice
Not the most exciting or new, but I thought you have a good sense of humor when you die! Keep it up
Interesting amount of depth as an arcade-like game, I liked it, although aesthetics can use work.
Oddly unsettling for me. I couldn't really move outside for some reason but others seem to be having that issue. I got to the library and then died o_O
I ARE WIN!
Anyways, the 3d Thing is cool. Game's a bit too short though!
@all: Thanks for complements w.r.t. mood! I know the gameplay is a bit well, lacking, but I hope to use these art/aesthetic ideas in a game I'm working on at the moment, to make it creepy/unsettling :))
Apologies for those whose eyes are hurt by the blur (I liked the effect...but it was overdone a bit). Glad the music seemed to work with the mood :)
I understand with the breaking of the immersion in dialogue...i am a little scared in the game jam with not getting the directions across clearly o_O. In general, I like to avoid text :) so when I implement this sort of atmosphere in a later game, no text! Just...scary stuff I guess. ambiance is the best
Some neat elements and good level design for the short period of time. I thought longer musical loops would have been nice to fit the mood more.
Cute game, interesting concept. Game got chaotic after a bit with the feet!
Boss has a lot of health! SFX could use work, but I like the bug/garden thing going on, and the game is complete. Nice!
SFX were startling!
I liked travelling between worlds (and they were cute and small!). Checkpoints would have been nice, dying and starting all over is a little annoying.
I thought it was a great concept for a game and pretty fun. Aesthetics were nice, too, with the quiet music/quiet graphics (if that makes sense?)
hahahahahaha andrewwww
nice ambience with being in space - i think - i feel hard to connect with the player avatar through movement. that's not a bad/good judgmnet just my feeling!
enjoy the idea of a previous action affecting a later reaction in this boiled down representation - wuold be interesting to see how it would manifest itself elsewhere
Heads up, the left/right up/down seem to be split between the two keybindings so it's never entirely WASD or the other one
nicely complete for a jam game. appreciated the original music and the animations - i think the gameplay concept could use more work for next time though as it relates to the theme??
a lot of stuff for a jam entry - nice in that regard - music is nice but does not fit the visual aesthetic - perhaps spend more on getting the core mechanic to feel nicer. it was neat to have to jump and grab the cube but it's hard to tell where i can grab it from or where the cube's gonna go or how far etc.
The character select was funny
the perspective of hte game is like...floating like . fun. could use the global sort of view for other things later?
the magic missile does feel good ! i'd like to see it in a non-space context if that makes sense? hm.
funny! for level design, try modifying the repetitive tasks like jumping a short distanc with something else. a faster player move speed would feel nicer, too, given level sizes.
other commenters mentioned level not ending. cool concept though, showing the visuals ofw hat color i'll change too next would help. this reminds me of a game by droqen you might like if I could find it (same idea with changing color platforms, but you loop vertically around the screen
interesting...maybe it's better to not intervene at alla nd let things play out , vs extend it for a long period of time.
nice use of the theme - i would say it errs more on the negative side, but it is good to bring up these systematic problems through a game. next time, don't be afraid to use words where possible, it will help make your points more clear/better articulated (seeing some of the commenters confused).
a different song might help - the current one is this sort of goofy disco preset beat.
are you on twitter? i'm twitter.com/seagaia2
nice job on the procedural gen during the short timespan.
best
nice song! nice job on finishing!
Didn't work for me on windows - get this message. http://gyazo.com/3fdb53d8c7693c59285f20a3f981f494
developed the base little ideas pretty well. nice job!
ajjjjhhhhhhhhhhh
