I love the movement and control feel. Would be good to see this one extended in future!
A few real LOLs here, nice work!
Awesome idea. I think it could quickly become quite difficult for the average human to manage though :)
I won... is it just the one level?
To clarify for others, when you touch a block from the top nothing happens, but when you touch them from the side they become active. While they are active you can control them, and the timing of your key presses will be recorded, until they bump against something else, then control goes back to your little man. You can record a different sequence of controls for each block. To play the sequence you then touch the green button on the left. Hint - to get on top of a block you'll have to leave a pause at the beginning of the sequence to give you enough time to get from the green button over to the block and get on top.
I think it would be better if the little man did not slide off the blocks so easily when they move left/right.
I think the player needs to be able to move faster, and have some clear goal to work towards.
ok, I'm a dummy. How do you do hack the terminals? I got a couple open somehow by random, but can't get any of the triple set open.
ok, I think I've got it. It was just how I expected but it seems the timing of my notebooks touchpad is a little slow or something. Are you using a mouse-up event to catch the time the dot is inside the bar perhaps?
Nice job. Want more :)
Awesome, you get my first 5 for 'fun'. Was it supposed to start off slow and then get fast, or is that something funny with my PC? It's really cool when fast, and once I realized I could hold down the mouse to continuously fire :)
I really like the look of this. The fixed-length jump seemed odd at first but I quite like it - it helps when you can tell exactly where you will land. I could not get past the monster though.
After eating too much candy, your difficult-teen-years kid smashes the precious family heirloom mirror and takes of into the woods. You take off in pursuit but the short day time makes things really hard to see at night, so unless you have a good memory you may find yourself running out of the extremely short-lived puff-lights very soon, and then writing silly stories in the game comments while waiting for sun-up. Eventually though you will find that little rascal and send him to his room with no supper.
Nice work!
Very well done, nice idea too. I'm stuck right at the beginning of lvl3 though...
Neat idea. I think it needs to be slightly (just slightly) slower paced. A couple more levels would be good too.
for us dum-dums who are stuck in the third room... any hint?
I have XNA installed to rate some other games and it was going ok, but with this one I get "ld22 has stopped working"
@spiral yes indeed... brutal! :D
I think if the scenes were scrolling up rather than on separate screens it would help.
The controls are nice and responsive and the simple audio cues help a lot to get timings right. I think if you could arrange it so it needed a bit more thought and was slower-paced rather than this fixed speed and 'on rails' it would be awesome.
cool... so what were you on at the time? :D Well done on the music.
I can see myself coming back to this again and again.
a.out? lol :)
Come on now, calling it 'awful' is a bit extreme - I quite enjoyed it! Good going for only half the time.
I managed to build and run this on my iPod touch pretty easily. It's a good start, but needs more gameplay :) It took me a while to realise I could kill those guys instead of running away like a chicken. I got VICTORY ^.^b
Thanks Neil! I don't think this particular one will be going much further but I will no doubt be making something similar before too long:)
you would die of starvation first vandriver :)
This is kinda fun for a speed run once you know the level.
It would be good if the enemies were a bit more aggressive.
The linux download file seems to be invalid, says it's not a gzip format file. Windows works great though.
As suggested already, it could use a bit more variety of level layouts.
Nice feel, cute graphics. I really like the puzzles too. After the first couple of levels I was thinking I was going to immensely enjoy this one.
However at about the fourth level there is a very long extending platform which you need to rush up to get on - I could not get past that one. Knowing what you need to do but not being able to is a bit frustrating, I would really like to play further.
This is a neat concept. I would like to play a bit more but cant figure out how to progress - I'm pretty sure I killed all the shadows and there are chunks flying around everywhere. Huge stones are falling from the sky but it doesnt seem like there is anywhere to go.
never mind, I'm just blind :)
Wow! Well balanced, good learning curve, simple and fun! Best one I've seen yet, well done!
Interesting. I was surprised at how long I played it for :) I think the audio was a major component.
Very nice. I found the placement of the ground and the lights played a big part in determining the fun factor. This would be really awesome with some less random levels.
This desperately needs some instructions.
Yeah this would be awesome as an iPhone-type game! I really enjoyed it, would probably pay for it in app store etc.
Wow, that is a really solid game. If you can do this in 48 hours and you're not earning a living from making games, you should be!!
It was too hard for me to get very far though.
