LD22 — Alone

Chromboid by pekuja 2011-12-20T11:50:00

Beautiful! It would be good if there was a bit more to interact with (besides the story-developing messages I mean).

Solitas Exodae by Gaeel 2011-12-21T17:37:00

I love the movement and control feel. Would be good to see this one extended in future!

Never Alone Hotline by Pierrec 2011-12-19T15:05:00

A few real LOLs here, nice work!

kuudou by summaky 2011-12-24T23:56:00

Nice controls, and good idea!

robot friends by dwrensha 2011-12-23T06:52:00

Awesome idea. I think it could quickly become quite difficult for the average human to manage though :)
I won... is it just the one level?

To clarify for others, when you touch a block from the top nothing happens, but when you touch them from the side they become active. While they are active you can control them, and the timing of your key presses will be recorded, until they bump against something else, then control goes back to your little man. You can record a different sequence of controls for each block. To play the sequence you then touch the green button on the left. Hint - to get on top of a block you'll have to leave a pause at the beginning of the sequence to give you enough time to get from the green button over to the block and get on top.

I think it would be better if the little man did not slide off the blocks so easily when they move left/right.

Lonely Dungeon by eerongal 2011-12-19T15:26:00

I think the player needs to be able to move faster, and have some clear goal to work towards.

And then, alone at Epsilon-1 by eld 2011-12-19T11:57:00

ok, I'm a dummy. How do you do hack the terminals? I got a couple open somehow by random, but can't get any of the triple set open.

And then, alone at Epsilon-1 by eld 2011-12-19T12:06:00

ok, I think I've got it. It was just how I expected but it seems the timing of my notebooks touchpad is a little slow or something. Are you using a mouse-up event to catch the time the dot is inside the bar perhaps?

Lone Escape by glitch 2011-12-23T07:17:00

Nice job. Want more :)

They Hunger by Cell 2011-12-20T11:30:00

Awesome, you get my first 5 for 'fun'. Was it supposed to start off slow and then get fast, or is that something funny with my PC? It's really cool when fast, and once I realized I could hold down the mouse to continuously fire :)

One Final Trek by vandriver 2011-12-19T13:28:00

I really like the look of this. The fixed-length jump seemed odd at first but I quite like it - it helps when you can tell exactly where you will land. I could not get past the monster though.

Into the Dark for You by incobalt 2011-12-23T07:34:00

After eating too much candy, your difficult-teen-years kid smashes the precious family heirloom mirror and takes of into the woods. You take off in pursuit but the short day time makes things really hard to see at night, so unless you have a good memory you may find yourself running out of the extremely short-lived puff-lights very soon, and then writing silly stories in the game comments while waiting for sun-up. Eventually though you will find that little rascal and send him to his room with no supper.
Nice work!

Nyan Nyan Stack by dock 2011-12-25T10:03:00

Very well done, nice idea too. I'm stuck right at the beginning of lvl3 though...

Dr. Autofober's Experiment by tcstyle 2011-12-19T16:19:00

Neat idea. I think it needs to be slightly (just slightly) slower paced. A couple more levels would be good too.

Teddies by Jiyko 2011-12-23T07:42:00

Excellent concept. You should expand this for sure.

Alone in the Gloom by hulahulahest 2011-12-21T17:53:00

for us dum-dums who are stuck in the third room... any hint?

Leave Me Alone by SaiKai 2011-12-23T07:44:00

I have XNA installed to rate some other games and it was going ok, but with this one I get "ld22 has stopped working"

Shadow by FinalMirage 2011-12-23T07:54:00

@spiral yes indeed... brutal! :D
I think if the scenes were scrolling up rather than on separate screens it would help.
The controls are nice and responsive and the simple audio cues help a lot to get timings right. I think if you could arrange it so it needed a bit more thought and was slower-paced rather than this fixed speed and 'on rails' it would be awesome.

The Lonely Alien by Chaoslab 2011-12-21T16:58:00

cool... so what were you on at the time? :D Well done on the music.

The Word Alone by Matt Rix 2011-12-19T17:46:00

I can see myself coming back to this again and again.

DiggyDig by wzl 2011-12-23T07:57:00

oh noes... not working for me on Win7

Erased by Falkreon 2011-12-19T14:05:00

Could not get past first enemy, I think you need more directions on how to play. When the fight starts he just blasts me a few times really quick and I'm dead. Nothing I do seems to attack him.
I like the random generation.

Lava Kittens by Mjiig 2011-12-19T16:55:00

a.out? lol :)
Come on now, calling it 'awful' is a bit extreme - I quite enjoyed it! Good going for only half the time.

Tarassis by kogarou 2011-12-23T08:18:00

I would like to try this and I started setting up the necessary python stuff but found it a lot of work to get the Box2D component in, I would need MinGW etc. Is there any chance you could build a standalone... or just a youtube video would be cool. Thx.

Alone on a raid by adventureloop 2011-12-22T17:18:00

I managed to build and run this on my iPod touch pretty easily. It's a good start, but needs more gameplay :) It took me a while to realise I could kill those guys instead of running away like a chicken. I got VICTORY ^.^b

Alone in the park by iforce2d 2011-12-22T11:08:00

Thanks Neil! I don't think this particular one will be going much further but I will no doubt be making something similar before too long:)

Alone in the park by iforce2d 2011-12-25T18:50:00

you would die of starvation first vandriver :)

In search of a Cave by My Milked Eek 2011-12-19T16:29:00

This is kinda fun for a speed run once you know the level.
It would be good if the enemies were a bit more aggressive.

One Of A Kind by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2011-12-19T16:05:00

The linux download file seems to be invalid, says it's not a gzip format file. Windows works great though.
As suggested already, it could use a bit more variety of level layouts.

Only You Can Save The World by Jack 2011-12-19T14:17:00

Nice feel, cute graphics. I really like the puzzles too. After the first couple of levels I was thinking I was going to immensely enjoy this one.
However at about the fourth level there is a very long extending platform which you need to rush up to get on - I could not get past that one. Knowing what you need to do but not being able to is a bit frustrating, I would really like to play further.

Busy King by Rose 2011-12-23T08:28:00

That's really fun. At first it seemed like the subjects could find me too easily, but once you notice that you can hide in the colored rooms, it's about right.

Alone in My Head by aberghage 2011-12-20T12:06:00

This is a neat concept. I would like to play a bit more but cant figure out how to progress - I'm pretty sure I killed all the shadows and there are chunks flying around everywhere. Huge stones are falling from the sky but it doesnt seem like there is anywhere to go.

Alone in My Head by aberghage 2011-12-20T12:11:00

never mind, I'm just blind :)

There Can Only Be Static by cards 2011-12-19T14:47:00

Wow! Well balanced, good learning curve, simple and fun! Best one I've seen yet, well done!

Alone in Translation by Gareth Jenkins 2011-12-22T17:25:00

Interesting. I was surprised at how long I played it for :) I think the audio was a major component.

Abandoned by Ian Morrison 2011-12-24T23:41:00

Very nice. I found the placement of the ground and the lights played a big part in determining the fun factor. This would be really awesome with some less random levels.

Alone in the War by ReikVal 2011-12-21T15:03:00

This desperately needs some instructions.

ToastCat by DeadlyFugu 2011-12-20T11:08:00

Yeah this would be awesome as an iPhone-type game! I really enjoyed it, would probably pay for it in app store etc.

Trapped by zanders3 2011-12-19T15:17:00

Awesome looking game. Maybe it could be a bit clearer which way the lever on the pedestal is supposed to be moved (seems like it needed to be pushed away than pulled on.

The Last Geek by Robotic 2011-12-25T10:13:00

Wow, that is a really solid game. If you can do this in 48 hours and you're not earning a living from making games, you should be!!
It was too hard for me to get very far though.

Gloaming by lapogo 2011-12-20T14:37:00

Download link doesn't seem to be working :/

Friends by baton4ik 2011-12-21T15:39:00

Those guys don't react when I walk into them.... is that right?
