EVIL SIMULATOR 2000 by admung 2012-12-18T04:36:00
Good art. No audio. Second level bugged out on me so I couldn't proceed. A female healer on the left ledge, I was shot with arrows and 'warped' up there. Stuck with '1 hero remains' until I exited.

Good art. No audio. Second level bugged out on me so I couldn't proceed. A female healer on the left ledge, I was shot with arrows and 'warped' up there. Stuck with '1 hero remains' until I exited.
A unique little game. I really like the graphics/music style!
@Jerre: Strange....that library should be included with it. How are you running it? The command should be: java -Djava.library.path=lib/ -jar build.jar. Also, i put up a new OSX build with some OSX specific files, give that a try see if that works.
@Dalbinblue: Actually, it works like any other ability, you have to click the button in the corner before you can detonate it. If that button is highlighted, you can hit space to activate it.
@moomoo112: Actually, the fireballs do hurt the slimes, there's just no damage popup (didnt get around to getting that in it on time), and the warlock spells starts out pretty weak (11 damage base at level 1), but it scales pretty well.
@milo - Yeah, i didn't get in all the features i wanted for the class system, which makes it a bit lack luster. If i had more time, i was planning on adding in "unlocking" higher tier classes based on the classes you leveled, as well as unlocking new abilities
@Someone - You run into enemies to melee them, and to cast the warlock's spell, you have to hit the class ability button (bottom left corner) and then use Q to detonate the fireball.
@firestorm713: You're in luck, the post compo version is detailed and linked the description. I also went ahead and added a link to it at the top :)
@Zathalos: I think the post compo version might answer the "point to switching classes" as you can see where i was originally wanting to head with the idea. And the villain class is essentially supposed to improve all areas of the character equally (all stats evenly)
The music in this game is totally rockin'.
Nice little game. Kinda reminds me of "the stanley parable" with the narration.
Yeah, couldnt get it to load on my PC. Just shows a blank screen. Windows 7 as well.
Yeah, unfortunately, i wasn't able to get the positional sound working quite right, and instead it's based on the camera's position. If the guy is on the left, it will always be on the left, for example.
neat dungeon crawler, but I had to run from way too many fights due to constantly having my sword/shield "broken" and being basically defenseless most of the time.
This is a rather well put together game. Good job!
interesting little game.
I like the fast paced nature of the gameplay. Needs some sort of goal, though.
It took me a few minutes to figure out what i was supposed to be doing, i was just digging out blocks with no real plan. Other than that, interesting concept. Could be a neat little time killer idle game with some power ups and a harder to achieve goal.
Controls felt wonky, but it doesnt help that I don't like inverted mouse. Seems like it could be a neat game with some polish.
Other than that: Dat download.
interesting little game. It wasn't particularly obvious from the description what to do at first, so it took a few moments for me to get going with it.
Beyond a certain point, upgrading anything other than firing speed seems a waste of resources. It seems like you only ever need to upgrade damage once. Other than that, fun little game!
Neat little tower defense-esque game with a unique twist.
Reminds me of a really trippy ecco the dolphin. Nice game!
I really like the graphics and the Noir-style mood. Wish there was a little more interactiveness to the story, though.
Ok, maybe i'm not understanding something here, but i can't seem to get past the first tall tower thing, and shift doesn't seem to DO anything when i press it. (windows version)
Taking the idea of a "rail shooter" a little seriously, huh? :)
Fun game, though! Good work!
i liked the visuals and music, but i agree with the sentiment of many people that the movement was too slow for the size of the levels. It would have been fine if you didn't have to run back to your van every 1 or 2 coffins.
A simple concept, nice graphics, and good audio that all meshes well. Good job!
Interesting little game. Kind of unsure what i was supposed to be doing for most of it.
I really like text adventures back in the day, and was looking forward to playing this, however, it seems like every single command gives me "You can't <command>", and I couldn't find a list of commands or anything.
Fun game, but starting completely over on death is a bit harsh of a penalty.
Same error message as Robert, MSVCP110D.dll missing.
@MechaTodd: yeah, coding the mechanics and debugging the game may have helped me get relatively OK at it.
@TomCooper3D: i went ahead and updated the web game to allow E as an alternate to middle mouse click.
@the rest: Thanks all! it was fun to make and turned out much better than i expected! :)
This is a great game! Really enjoyed it!
Neat game! However, i noticed a couple of times it set up spots on the track where it was literally impossible to dodge successfully, and I just had to take the hit.
Reminds me of the atari game "Tanks"
Nice little game, if a bit repetitive. I did notice that if i hit the keys too fast in succession, the kid would go back to his neutral position and not go look at the edge i wanted him to.
It was a little bit hard to control your character, controls need to be tightened up some.
I'm getting the same error as others.
As simple of a concept this is, I spent far more time playing this game than i care to admit to. Good job!
Interesting idea for a platformer, but the controls need to be tightened up. Also, it's apparently possible to go straight up and "finish" the level.
Same as the others. Don't have python installed, but would love to play if you push out some binaries :)
I love the graphics, but I agree that it was a bit rough gameplay-wise with no way to defend yourself and no way to heal.
Attacking felt kind of wonky in my opinion, but other than that fairly solid game.
I like the part where "shark" is an action. :P
neat platformer. Reminds me of a super-simplified super meat boy. I kept running into a bug or something where i couldnt jump after dying, though.
The games unplayably fast. It starts up and its over in about 5 seconds.
the collision detection is a little rough, kept getting stuck on things. The art style and music reminded me of old windows 95/98 games (not a bad thing, just a statement). Good work!
Interesting game. Wasn't sure what was going on for a bit, took me a while to realize there wasn't really a goal.
It's like a choose your own adventure picture book! Interesting concept to say the least, certainly was NOT expecting that.
yeah, chrome flags this game as malware for me, just like ArcturusDeluxe
Wow. Such game. Much appreciate.
Would be nice if there was less trial and error to this. Maybe some sort of hint or clue about the correct path.
Oh god, not a missile command rip off! D:
I'm terribad at that game!
That said, i really like the "arcade screen" look to it, was a nice touch that amused me. Solid game overall.
neat little game. Really enjoyed the graphics. It's a bit rough to start to remember which move to do in which spotlight, though.
Not sure if this is a bug, but on the second day i had a capsule spawn in the receptacle i was supposed to put it in.
interesting take on the theme!
I really like the music. However, seems like you walk too slow, and with no real indication of which way to go, its entirely possible to get stuck on a track that's going to keep you in the sun for way to long
Nice game! Fun little bullet hell/tower defense mash up.
i was looking forward to playing this one when i saw it, but the fact that it requires several gamepads (and friends :( ) made it a no go for me.
Seems like it could be fun if there was some element working against you (time or something). I enjoyed the graphics, but I like pixely artwork.
What was the purpose of the empty platform on the right?
Nice little simple game. I agree with the above commenter that it would be nice to have some sort of challenge to it (fail condition)
tried both the sound and no sound version, bot fail on startup.
Neat little game, but I can't help but feel that there's too much of a "grind" between fish. Cheaper line length upgrades, and more tiers of fish feel like it could have helped this (as well as not requiring every new fish to need an upgrade, it seems like)
Neat little game. The controls were a bit confusing at first for a top-down style game. Also, for some reason, i couldnt see the text for "press E to ..." on the LD embedded page. Worked fine when i went to the web link, though.
Seems like with a bit of polish and obviously completing it, could be a pretty solid beat-em-up. Art style reminds me a lot of the scott pilgrim side scroller game. Good work!
wouldve been nice to have some more control over the cards, it was sort of confusing what was going to attack what.
Great tower defense/bullet hell mash up! Could easily see this being really awesome if it were expanded!
Nice graphics, but there doesnt seem to be much to it.
I found this game pretty goofy but ultimately fun to play! Nice work!
Interesting game, i could see this being a very neat story telling mechanic if it were to be expanded.
Enjoyable game. Didn't realize the acid was a bad thing at first though...
Reminds me a lot of "hunt the wumpus". Not that it's a bad thing, mind you!
Clever concept, good humor, solid game! Good job!
Nice use of the theme.
Seems like this could be an old school arcade game pretty easily. The controls need to be tightened up a bit, though, but overall not bad! good work!
Could be interesting with more mechanics, but is a fairly simplistic game. Also, a bit of instructions would have been nice, spent several minutes with the robots beating on my crystal not sure what was happening, trying to figure out how to attack or something.
this is a really cool concept, i really enjoyed it!
This is a really interesting game. I would love to see the concept expanded!
This is one of those things that bizarre enough to play through just to see where it's going :P
I like the art direction, but the mechanics could use some tightening up.
I really like the graphics. As others have said, reminds me of limbo!
Neat little game. I love the graphics! Good work!
Becomes a bit of a cluster-f pretty quickly, but neat game
Interesting game. Also, crashed after i pressed the button in the TV....
Neat game, fairly enjoyable! Good work!
Luckily i have a 360 controller to play it, but that probably wasnt the best choice considering how the comments are looking. Neat little game, though! Good work!
The graphics on this game were great!
I like the art, especially the little coffee mugs that walk after you. Great game!
Nice little game. Lost to the second round of aliens. If you kill a bunch on your lil' iceberg fast enough, you can seem to lift yourself out of the water, though :P
Well that was....Interesting.
Also, I had no issues loading the game through the dropbox link, FYI
Neat game, but the planting mechanics were a bit confusing at first, i kept planting/picking up the same carrot over and over.
Great art style, fun game, overall a really great submission! Probably one of my favorites ive played so far! Good job!
Love the dog "barking"
Nice simple game, i liked the handling on the car.
I....don't know what to say about this. That is all.
@liquidmedia: Sorry! i tried not to make it too loud, but it's normalized to what i usually use on my PC!
@Move127: I'm aware other games like this (such as flOw/spore/agar.io), it's where i took some inspiration from! :)
@Cluster Parable: Thanks!
Definitely an interesting take on the theme. Don't think i've ever seen an AR ludum dare game! nice work!
I agree with the others, sound and graphics are GREAT, and it feels like you could have done something really cool with this, but there seems to be no particular goal other than "not die".
Nice little game! good work! :)
I get a connection time out when attempting to download it from the link above. That said, this certainly looks like an interesting take on the theme...
I love the graphics. That said, I was a bit confused by what was going on at first. Also, are you supposed to run out of wall? because I eventually did (and stuff stopped attacking my little genie). Nice work!
A little weird/confusing to play. Also, i can't seem to make it to the other group of balls? Maybe im not shooting enough things?
Fun little puzzle game, but can be kinda annoying moving two magnets at once! Nice work!
Neat concept. Motorists apparently need to learn to respect my authority, though!
Clicker games are always fun. Nice work!
The graphics were excellent! Nice work!
Seems like it might be an interesting concept with multiple people playing.
Not sure i entirely understand this game...My clicking doesn't seem to do anything?
I love it! Reminds me of warioware! Things i've learned: A randomly controlled computer is better than me at trivia, galaga style games and sledding. :(
Nice job!
Neat game. Loved the graphics.
Interesting little game. If it were a little more fleshed out (and with some sort of challenge/complication added) it might be something neat!
Nice, simple little game. Definitely not bad for a first time!
Pretty complex game for a LD entry! Interesting concept, though
Fun little game. Spamming spells everywhere is real fun! Nice work!
Interesting concept. A bit difficult due to the force rotation, but a solid entry none the less. Good job!
Interesting game, though it seems my clicks sometimes dont do anything...
Interesting little tower defense game. nice work!
Interesting mash up of snake/tanks style game! Nice work!
Love the audio in this one! Nice work!
Interesting game, but it's a little bit too easy to die at times from falling, which can make it a little frustrating.
Interesting little game. Kinda reminds me of katamari damacy in a way.
The windows build doesnt seem to work. it just downloads a .exe file and when you try to run it says that there should be a data folder alongside the .exe
This is an amazing little game! Reminds me of old some DOS games! Nice work!
Neat little game. Took me a bit to figure out i could hold down shoot instead of clicking it for each shot. Nice work!
Neat little game. Reminds me of old atari style games. Nice work!
Interesting little game, but a bit difficult...kept dying before i could connect enough sun for leaves!
FYI Worked for me. That said, dropping presents seemed to be a bit buggy/difficult, also i seemed to have a hard time getting into the tutorial, it kept auto skipping it, so at first i had a hard time figuring out how to drop presents.
Interesting idea, executed pretty well, too. Nice work!
Neat little game. Solid entry!
I'm not sure how to start it....Is there's supposed to be a mouse cursor? It's capturing my mouse, but I don't see a cursor or anything, and mashing the keyboard got me nowhere...
Would have been nice to have two separate keys for move and shoot, just so i dont accidentally move...Other than that, fun game, good work!
Well, that was something. Not really much more than what's on the tin! nice work!
Interesting idea, never seen something like it before! nice work!
Really sweet graphics work. Nice job!
Nice graphics, fun little game. Solid entry!
A pretty decent little auto runner.
Fun little game to fly around in, but I wasn't entirely sure of there was a point here or not... :)
Is there any point to screaming? i couldn't find any...
This game is pretty good! I really enjoy the art and making each stage of life have different attacks was really interesting. Good work!
Neat little game, it eventually gets kinda hard to tell people apart as they start overlapping, though!
Neat concept! Good work!
Interesting little game. I agree with what others have said, the controls seems bit unresponsive, and I wasn't entirely sure what i was doing at first...
Kinda reminds me of moon lander game from old PCs
Neat little game. I like the graphics. Good work!
Nice game! Similar in design to mine (but very different in mood). Great music, nice work!
Yeah, would be nice with keyboard controls, but solid entry otherwise. Nice work!
Fun game! Does it continue infinitely or is there eventually a boss?
Mouse controls seemed a bit laggy, but I really like the art style. Nice work!
Interesting game. Might be neat with a goal or something, or someway to "lose". Like the graphics. Nice work!
Fun little shooter! Nice work!
Fun little game. nice work!
Interesting little game...i agree with what others have have said, needs some polish. Nice work!
Shows some promise. Could be something unique, and i like the paper cut out art style, but it's pretty clear that you didn't end up getting to implement everything you wanted to.
Interesting concept for a game.
Interesting concept, however, when i selected two elements nothing seems to happen? I'm not able to click on the little dudes attacking me or anything...
If enemies were more dangerous and gave chase, this would almost work as a little horror/puzzle game! Nice work!
I like the guitar ditty in the background. Also, are you supposed to be able to walk past the beanstalk? because i did that the first time.... Doesn't seem to be much back there other than bricks in the way!
It would seem that flappy hell is just as evil as i imagined it would be! D:
Nice work!
Neat little game. Music leaves something to be desired though. Nice work!
FYI Worked for me, windows 7 64-bit.
Are people trying to run the .jar file or the .bat file?
Same here, it's being caught by my anti-virus...
Interesting little physics puzzler! Nice work!
Interesting game...Not entirely sure what to make of it, to be honest!
Fun little game! i really like the music and visuals, but gameplay can get a bit repetitive.
"Error java runtime environment not found" upon trying to execute the .exe
Windows 7 64-bit
java -version output:
java version "1.8.0_31"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_31-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 25.31-b07, mixed mode, sharing)
Playing on windows, not sure if i'm doing something wrong, but i only seem to be able to rotate my view, I can't seem to look around, even holding control like it says...
Seems like an interesting game, though, too bad you couldn't finish it!
I love the art. Nice work!
Fun little time waster! Gets a bit repetitive, though.
This was great. The whole thing was really well put together, and the voice acting was well done. Solid entry, good job!
Dont see enough text based games anymore! Nice work!
Interesting concept. Is there a way to make the survivors "fight" the zombies (since they appear to have guns and all)? If so, i couldn't find a way.
This is a good little rogue-like game! nice work!
Neat little game. I love the graphics and sound, gets a bit repetitive, though.
Nice little game. The music and graphics were great, the VA was a bit rough. The mechanics sometimes felt unfair because of how randomly the edible choice changed. Nice work!
Fun little game! Great work!
The voice overs are easily the best part, but it's a pretty fun game overall. Good work!
It's like a magic eye picture came to life and hates my eyes! D:
I agree with what others say here. Solid idea, but the view window is so small that it makes it kinda difficult.
Same here, windows PC, cant play it, sorry :(
Interesting little game. Collision detection seems a bit buggy, though.
Fun little game. It started spawning enough enemies to lag for significantly for me around level 5, though.
Also: Gravity falls is the greatest!
nice little game. The MS paint graphics style gives it some charm. Nice work!
Nice little game. Eventually enemies start spawning too fast, though, and with the rate of fire on the gun, you can't keep up. The art style was...uh...interesting to say the least.
I get an error stating that unity is unable to allocate enough memory to execute this game....
Great game. Shuffling things around for the day to day and keeping your strength up was a fun way to do it. I like your take on the theme. Nice work!
Fun little game. Gets out of hand quickly!
the web link seems to just be a link to an image or something? It doesnt appear to be interactive, and chrome says its a PNG image.
This is a really clever and unique idea! Kinda hard to wrap your head around it at times. Nice work!
this is a really fun and challenging puzzle game! nice work!
interesting concept, but there's way too many ingredients!
At first, i thought this was going to be some kind of artsy "it's hard to be a teenage girl" story, and kinda rolled my eyes. Then as I kept reading, more and more started to seem a little "off", until i realized what was going on. Then i became invested.
All in all, very well done. Not sure how much it qualifies as a "game", per se, vs just a short story, but I enjoyed it. My only issue was it was much too short, but that's what usually happens with ludum dare! Good work!
fun little tactical fighting/puzzle game. Simplistic in nature but works well. My only complaint is that it almost feels like its a slog to eventual death, not too much you can do to combat it.
Good job!
Interesting game. As others have said, little to no direction and fast rising lava makes it a bit tough. Also, the child sounds particularly man-ish for someone so small. Nice work, though!
Fun little game. I really like the graphics style. Changing up the same room between levels is a really neat mechanic. Nice work!
interesting concept, but i felt like the game mechanics didnt really jive with the mood the game is trying to set. From gameplay and sounds, it seems like you want to create a fast-paced intense game, but the player has so much health, and getting hit by the falling building deals so little damage that it didnt really work.
All in all, interesting concept i could see going somewhere with some polish. Nice work!
Interesting game. Seems like a slightly more interactive clicker. My only complaints are that there's a ton of waiting and micromanaging
Apparently my employees cant go an hour without pissing themselves. Interesting game!
Fun horde shooter. Tight controls, nice art style.
Interesting twist on the maze game. Graphics style reminds me of "adventure" for the atari. Nice work!
interesting art style. Not much substance to the game, though, needs to have some sort of specific goal or challenge. Nice work!
I really like the 3d/2d art style mix. Also, the "twist" at the end was fun. However, the lack of any real interaction left it to mostly waiting.
All in all, nice game!
Could be a fun game, but without people to play it with, it's hard to tell. The idea definitely has merit, though. Reminds me of demolition derby.
Interesting little puzzle game. Took me a moment to figure out exactly how it worked, but it's a really unique idea. Nice work!
Interesting game. It keeps freezing on me randomly, though. A little too heavy on the blue, though.
I dont know if its just me, but the game had a long start up time. I had to wait 2~3 minutes after clicking it for anything to open, but that was on windows.
I really like the idea, but the implementation gets a little too rough, especially once your ship is almost completely full and there's enemies at every side.
Nice little bullet-hell horde shooter. THe initial firing speed is really annoying, though.
All in all good work!
Interesting idea using the lighting as a mechanic in a "horde shooter" type game.
Nice take on the theme. The constant complaining of the protagonist was fun. Gameplay is, however, just a sneaky way to force me to do math, you can't fool me.
this was a really fun and interesting take on the theme. Nice work! Gets really hectic towards the end.
Neat little game. Reminds me of a faster-paced galaga or something. The graphics style of the textured rock doesnt really fit with the simplistic characters, though.
This is a fun little game. I could see this being a great "couch co-op" style of game.
This is a fun little game. Sound and graphics are on point. Game play is a bit simplistic. Also, near the end, the bones of the other fish seem to be able to block you from getting to other fish to eat, which can cause some issues.
Kinda makes me think of the sims. I really like the graphics style. Ended up sleeping for the first 5 or 6 hours of LD (so kinda like real life) because I didn't know i was supposed to be doing something. All in all nice work!
Interesting concept. I like the idea of using the window size as a game mechanic.
This is a really well put together game! nice work!
Fun little game. It starts getting tough pretty quick. Says i died of sickness, but I'm gonna say i died of poopin' myself.
Yeah, i'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to be doing in this. My fish always ends up flying straight up into the air, even after gravity is turned on....I'm assuming I'm supposed to create things in the proper order?
Interesting game. However, the fact that you can't see the whole level at times causes issues with it being a "puzzle" game, because it becomes a "random chance" thing.
Tried to play it straight before i just went full xmas shopping rage and rammed cars. Was satisfying.
This is a solid game. Gets hard pretty quickly. Those chiptunes are rockin'!
Makes me think of old school games like spyro or rayman. Needs sound, though.
Interesting game. Took me a bit to actually figure out that more coins = less time (i didnt read the instructions). The wrap around mechanic is a nice touch. The controls felt oddly "floaty" though.
A really enjoyable game. Delightful pixel graphics, soothing music, and as the title tells you, just fishing. A nice way to waste a few minutes.
Confused and disturbed is exactly the feelings i was hoping to evoke!
Thanks for playing everyone!
@niborious: thanks for the feedback! As for the sound effects, them being "off" probably has to do with the effects not being particularly well cut, they have some dead air in them. That said, i wasn't going for any really specific tight timing there.
I have indeed used other tools, mainly java, XNA and unity for game development specifically, with a few other things here and there over the years. I personally really like unity, and it's generally my go-to.
This game gets pretty frantic really quick. It's well done and the graphics are great. The sound of the babies crying is grating in just the right way to evoke the theme. Nice work!
This is a really fun, solid game. The mechanics work out pretty well, though it would be nice to have some sort of influence on the choices you make (like a mini game or something that affects it), but other than that it's really fun! nice work!
Tough game. I made some lumpy-ass snowballs!
I like the idea, but its a little tough to break even. Way too easy to waste presents, and the comparative punishment is pretty harsh. That said, it's probably a good xmas for any orphans living on the street in my santa's world!
That was good. It took me a bit to figure out firing continuously killed me, but once i figured that out a got a bit better at it. :)
Interesting game. At first i thought i was supposed to collect the fruit, then i realized that's how i lose :P
Nice little retro style game. Has great graphics. FYI, when i tried the itch.io link i o got a 404.
Interesting game. It's pretty tough! Took a bit to figure it out.
I really like the idea, but it gets particularly difficult once it goes to the floor is lava. As an above poster stated, the platforming is really unforgiving. The idea is solid, however.
fun take on what is essentially snake. I like how you get shorter with time, but are incentivized to keep your "tail" longer. Also, the tail lagging is a nice touch.
Fun little game. Interesting concept. I quickly skimmed the instructions and didnt realize my flipped tiles would hurt me. Worth noting that you can occasionally position yourself to flip two tiles horizontally as you move, which makes things go a bit quicker, and is probably a bit of an exploit
Reminds me a lot of balloon fight! not a bad thing! Fun game!
Fun little game. Would be pretty neat with upgrades or something to spend your gold on.
I like this. The concept is solid, the gameplay style is simple. Reminds me of a more hectic warioware game.
I like this. The concept is solid, the gameplay style is simple. Reminds me of a more hectic warioware game.
Interesting take on the theme. I agree that its a bit hard to "tell" what im doing well, and what, exactly, what causing failure vs winning.
I agree that "dodging" the tiny bullets is pretty difficult, especially if you collect even a handful of blobs. That said, the game concept is solid, just needs a little refinement!
I really liked the concept. Game play is a little simplistic, but with some refinement, it could be a really solid game!
That was a fun, little meta-thought with the theme. End of the day, the game is just a "walking simulator", though, but i really liked it anyways!
I get an error attempting to run this game. "The code execution cannot process because unityPlayer.dll was not found"
Fun game. It gets hard a LOT quicker than i would have expected. Paying attention to 4 full tracks is tough.
That was really good. I enjoyed the fact that i had to use the dragons to defeat the other dragons.
I really like the 2D-in-3D style. Also, as a huge lovecraft fan and a pedantic type person, these would technically be "star spawn", not "cthulhus" :)
The graphics look nice, but it would have been nice to have a little color variation. Hard to see with purple on purple. That said, i enjoyed and got all the ninjewels!
Has a really cool retro-atari game feel to it. It ramps up in difficulty pretty quickly too. Great game!
Oh god, that spamming of that baby scream is horrid. Fun game, though! Nice work!
Fun concept. The dual nature of the game makes it pretty challenge. Also: screw popups!
Solid little bullet hell style game. The graphics leave a little something be desired, but the controls are very responsive and it works well.
Makes me think of the nursery rhyme "there was an old lady who swallowed a fly". Also, i love your ham and swiss logo!
Fun little almost-RTS game. Starts out a bit slow until you start getting a good amount of emus going.
That was really fun! I really liked the distortion and how bad it gets, makes for a real challenge.
Great graphics and music. Also, the secret to life appears to be neglect your family for work as long as humanly possible!
This is a great little metroidvania style platformer. Really enjoyed it!
Not entirely sure i understand the mechanics. Some cards require an additional action to use, but using a card that gives me +1 action takes an action...I'm not entirely sure how to use these cards.
This is a fun little game. I really like the style and music. Simplistic gameplay is really easy to pick up.
I dont see a download/play link anywhere on this page.
That's a very interesting concept. It could use some work to flesh it out but the idea is pretty neat. It did crash on me after i got my dome fully built, though.
Cute game. Gets really hectic really fast, but the graphics and sounds are great! Simple concept and easy to grasp too. Nice work!
Well, this is an ambitious game for a ludum dare project. The graphics and sound are all on point.
@iluvatar dont hate me, but i read and clicked through rather than waiting for the voice acting :)
That said, i actually ran out of time, so i was probably clicking around and going to a few things too much
@hotaloca The text and color of the indicators on the bottom right tell you which color of "workstation" you should stand at to fix the damage.
@kevin-du Ship shake is when you hyper jump. And the events in the text box explain why you gain/lose people (and what is being damaged)
@w4yn3r yeah, unfortunately unity UI has a few scaling issues at times. It looks much better on itch than on the LD embed. Thanks for playing, though!
@krakadushka actually, the way to win is to get your hyper drive (the purple) to 100%, as alluded to by the intro. So it's not a time thing, per se, just how much time you can actually get around to fixing it before others reach 0%
@roroto-sic huh, that's interesting. The game is supposed to win if you get the hyper drive (purple bar) to 100%. Not sure why it wouldn't appropriately, but I haven't seen that yet. I don't suppose you have any console logs left from your play? i doubt it but doesnt hurt to ask :)
You aren't missing much, just a screen that says "you win", basically.
Wow, this is actually a really great game. It's well thought out, cohesive, plays well, simple and intuitive. Also the art and sound direction are on point.
This is a fun game! Everything works really well and is pretty simple to grasp. I would have maybe liked to see the dead bodies you leave behind worked into some of the puzzles somehow other than just leaving them on switches, but obviously there's only so much you can do in a ludum dare!
This has the feel of a mid 00's flash game. Also, the mouse seems hyper-sensitive to me, which makes it a little tough. That said, nice work for a first attempt at a jam!
This pixel art in this game is amazing. The sound is a bit repetitive, but only so much you can do in a weekend. Took me a few tries to figure out exactly how it worked, but once i got it sorted it was pretty easy. Nice work!
Well that is an interesting game. The sounds and art direction are really good, though, nice work!
The art in this one is amazing! Everything works really well and looks great.
As others have said, the visuals on this are really great. Great little game, nice work!
Well that's definitely an interesting take. The graphics and sound were great, and the idea was really novel. All in all was pretty good fun, though there's a lot to take in when it comes to the 10 second time limit.
Fun game, but the time limit makes things kinda tough, especially if you're stuck reloading for a few seconds.
I really like the concept here, especially how you can mess with the speed of time. For what it's worth, it could be a nice story, too, just needs to be fleshed out. I know time constraints with a LD project, so it's understandable, but i really liked this! Nice work!
That's a bit of an acid trip. Interesting idea/take, especially jumping into a doom-esque shooter. Also, i think i found a bug because i was able to clip through the walls outside of the area where the heads appeared at.
I really like the style and presentation on this one. The graphics and sound are all on point, and it looks great all together.
Nice little basic tower defense. I agree that the starting gold wasn't quite enough, but it also doesnt help that i spent a few extra figuring out exactly how to place things. Didn't realize i needed to place a wall FIRST.
Yeah, a little weird to figure out what was going on. That said, i dig the paper cut out style
This is an interesting concept, and i could see it being fleshed out into something really neat. Nice work!
I see no link to the game on this page. FYI to my understanding, there is a site-wide bug that if you don't have at least *TWO* links set up, non will show.
Interesting little concept. Partially horde game, part point protection. Pretty simplistic, and could use some polish, but it's a ludum dare game, so that's excusable!
Also, for embedding on the LD site, you need to zip up the CONTENTS of the build folder from unity. The index.HTML needs to be in the root of the zip, not in a sub folder. That's probably why you have issues embedding here.
This is a really cool game. Smooth gameplay, great graphics, and i really like the retro effect. Well done!
Those faces are definitely....something else. Fun little game, though. It gets kinda tough after a few levels, only made it to level 4.
Wow, this is a really unique concept. Took a moment to get exactly what was going on, but i really like it. Simple and not too hard to figure out.
this is a fun little bullet hell game. Could use some more polish, but what ludum dare game couldn't? But overall it plays pretty well, looks fine, and is actually pretty fun to play. Nice work!
This is a pretty good idea. Takes a moment to get a handle on the controls, but once you do it becomes a pretty unique puzzle game. Great job!
This is a really cute game. Great music and visuals, the timing is a little weird/wonky at times, but that's maybe because i was playing on the web version, which you explicitly state can have issues, but still, the game was really good. Nice work!
This is a pretty fun, simple game. The graphics and sound are also really nice. It would be better to have the controls laid out so that the keys are next to each other, instead of spreadout over the keyboard though.
This is a pretty tough game. 10 seconds doesnt leave much time to get it sorted out.
Wow, this is a unique, ambitious game. Definitely not something you see in a ludum dare, generally. It takes a moment to get an idea of what's going on, but it's really interesting. I could see this being fleshed out into a really impressive puzzle game.
Fun little game. The swapping of the controls gets a bit annoying/hard to parse sometimes, but that's also where the challenge comes in, i suppose. Without that it would be really easy!
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I have just played this ludum dare game that amused me highly. Great work!
This is a fun game. i alawys like these sort of "hectic service" style games where you have to make people's orders. That said, I also really like the 2d + 3d art style, especially some of the really ugly customers. Nice work!
Wow, this is a great looking game to make in such a short time! Well done, color me impressed!
That was definitely a unique game. The art and sound design on it are wonderful, though.
This is a really cool concept. It's almost like a reverse stealth kinda game. I like the play on words with the title as well, this is good, great job!
i said consumate V's! CONSUMATE! CONSUMATE! Guy wouldn't know majesty if it bit him in the face!
This was a great game, and looks like it was probably incredibly fun to make. Nice job, but when I submitted to this ludum dare, i didn't think i'd be facing off against mutated burninators!
Fun little game. The upgrades definitely add something to it, still a little rough around the edges but all in all pretty solid! Nice job!
Thats a unique take on the game. Took a moment for me realize the spell sigils are for me and being my form of defense, but once i accidentally herded the enemies into it, it clicked. Aiming the spells is a bit odd, though, too
That was fun! reminds me of warioware in a way. I enjoyed how each puzzle was mixing itself up.
This is a fun little game. Too bad there wasn't more of it, but great work!
I dont know if it's just me, but the embed doesnt seem to work. Download was fine, though.
I love the graphics on this.
The limited vision really adds some challenge to this. The graphics are also really great. Would be nice if enemies that dropped candles emitted light to help guide the player, though.
Error 418: I am a teapot. (i'm joking)
Fun little game, moves a little slow, though, waiting for the time to elapse for it to move back and forth. Great job, however!
doesnt seem to work as far as i can tell? i get a loading screen pop up for a split second then just a black screen.
Fun game, the ball is a little hard to control at times, but reminds me of marble madness in a way.
Interesting take on the theme. Makes it into a bit of an interesting puzzle game. Also there seems to be a movement cap that's not immediately apparent?
Well, that's a bit of a, uh, heavy topic for a game jam. I absolutely love the gameboy/pokemon style graphics, though.
The embed doesnt seem to work for me, i just get a blank screen.
@aj-studio Microsoft edge; That said, i think it's the ludum dare site, specifically. A lot of the embedded games aren't really working, and it's really hit or miss.
I just tried your game again and this time it worked without issues, so I'm pretty sure it's tied to the larger embed issue for the LD site.
That was a fun game. A little rough around the edges, but that's what you get with a ludum dare game. Good work!
Simple game, but that's not a bad thing. Could use some kind of instructions in the game itself, though, because it has an odd control scheme.
I really like the low poly art style on this. However, i feel like the chicken's meters fall far too quickly, especially with how tough it can be to actually bring them to the feeding station/coop. Either way, its an interesting little management sim, nice work!
This is a really unique game. Without reading the tutorial, as mentioned, it's kinda hard to understand what we're supposed to be doing. That said, it makes some sense after reading it, but still pretty difficult. I like the concept, though, nice work!
this is a pretty good little platformer. It's a bit tough at times, but overall not too bad. Nice work!
@hawkin the squirrels you punch drop the nuts for you to pick up. After 20 of them it transitions into a boss fight.
Great graphics, but the controls are a little bit difficult to use, especially for some of the platforming. A really interesting idea, however. Nice work!
This is a well polished game for a game jam! great graphics, good sound, good controls, great animations. It's a little tough but not too bad. Nice work!
Wow, the art in this is amazing. Overall a decent little text adventure. It would be nice if there was some sort of graphic or animation to show how well i did or didn't do when i attempt something, because just plopping up a "success" or "fail" screen seems a little jarring. Or if there was some way to try to influence the outcome. Either way, really nice game!
New spin on FPS (First person snooker) right here. Interesting game! Obviously, a bit rough but its a game jam game, so no surprise there. I could see the idea being polished up into something really fun, though! Nice job!
Solid platformer game! Great graphics and sound, controls/hit detection are ok, not great. Overall really solid entry, nice work!
I like the 2.5D nature of it. Easy to figure out, i could see how it could be expanded into something pretty fun. Nice work!
This is an interesting idea. A little weird to understand, and the UI is hard to actually play the game, but the idea is really novel. Nice work!
Fun game! gets hectic pretty fast. I kinda wish that i didnt have to keep tapping to spawn the rats, gets a little tiresome after a while. Otherwise great game!
This game is great! It's pretty novel, it's like a live action lemmings. Controlling the horde of fleas can be difficult, but with the infinite number of them spawning it isn't too bad, as long as you don't mind sacrificing loads of them. Nice work!
This is a great concept. Reminds me a lot of worms in a way. That said, I was playing it by myself so falls a little flat when doing that. Unless i missed it, would have been nice if there was a VS CPU option, though i suspect thats maybe a tall order for a LD game to have intelligent CPU in a game like this. Either way, nice work!
The controls are certainly interesting. Takes some getting used to. Also, the graphics are certainly....well, let's just say it has huuuuuge assets. Some of the platforming requires some pretty precise movement which makes it hard with the control scheme, though. Nice work!
i like the idea, but figuring out what to do on the cooking side could be better explained/called out. Also, the UI seems non-responsive at times, I had my cooking screen "stuck" holding a jar i couldn't seem to get rid of and was unable to pick up anything for cooking.
A little rough around the edges, but a competent game. Things are a little small for me, though. Overall a good entry!
Interesting idea, but feels a bit unfinished. There doesn't seem to be a win/game over condition as far as i can tell?
Wow, this is a great little game! It gets pretty overwhelming later on since you don't have any other way of protecting the apple, though. The graphics are also amazing. Nice work!
This was a fun, simple little game. The amount of spiders gets really crazy after a while, though, it gets almost impossible to avoid them. Either way, good work!
Interesting little game. It feels a little cheap when enemies spawn in front of you at times, and the controls take some getting used to, but it can be kinda fun zipping around in circles trying to grab those dots. Nice work!
This is a nice little racer game. I really like the personality on each racer. Nice work!
I love the art on this, its really great. Gameplay is a little bit wonky with how you have to time the usage of shrink/items and takes some getting used to, but overall really good work!
trying to play on itch, but the screen is too big for the window, and i cant maximize it (the unity button is completely hidden) ss.png
This is a great little entry. A little rough around the edges when it comes to fighting the...spiders i think they are? But the graphics and mood are excellent. Really short, but you can't really knock a game jam game for that. Nice work!
The art on this is really good! simplistic gameplay, which is fine for a game jam game. However, i feel like the spawn rate of the pests could be increased. There's long stretches of time where i was just sitting waiting for one to spawn. Either way, nice entry!
Interesting little "reverse tower defense" in a way. The graphics are great, the music gets a bit repetitive, but otherwise its a solid entry! nice work!
Simple game with simple graphics. That said, i like the take on the "eat things and grow" gameplay where the objects you eat are stuck to you, instead of just making you larger. Creates an interesting strategy to control the shape of your character.
Would be nice if you got a little faster as you got bigger, though, it eventually feels like its slowing down to a crawl.
Interesting game. I like the idea of sculpting your own world. The characters have a sort of "claymation" like quality to them that is also unique. Nice work!
This is a fun little game with great graphics. It's kinda rough around the edges, but also its a game jam game, so no surprise there. Nice work
This game has some interesting gameplay. Its like lemmings, but with a vacuum. It gets a little bit tough on some of the levels with how long your vacuum lasts and how quickly things move, but i think the idea really has some merits! Nice work!
Fun little tower defense game, but it definitely ramps up way too much right at the beginning.
Moving on hills sometimes gets a little hard to do, that said, i like the idea of using all the different creatures. Too bad it's not more finished, but nice work!
Fun little game built off of a solid formula. Nice graphics, overall, nothing to not like here, good work!
I kept expecting a jump scare or something because of background ambiance. That said, the game was straightforward and the art was great. Nice little game!
Interesting little game. I think it would be helpful if there was an indicator to help you find the vegetables, some levels took a little longer than they should because of critters hiding behind trees. That said, the time limits were more than generous and i was able to complete all the levels. Nice work!
Took a moment to figure out exactly what to do, but once i did it was neat. Interesting idea using enemies as a weapon. Also, a restart button would go a long way when you die. Cool game!
Simple, fun little game. The controls are pretty responsive and it plays well. Nice work!
Power wash simulator fantasy edition! i like it! Sometimes it's a little bit hard to see some of the spots that are still dirty, though.
Simple little game, but it spirals out of control really quickly. Nice work.
I really love the art style here. Also, for a game jam game, has quite a bit of emotion. Nice work!
The meaty textures can be a little...unsettling at times. I wasn't sure where to go after getting the shield in level 3, though. Can also be a little bit tough at times. Overall, an interesting take on the theme, though.
Ia Ia! Cthulhu F'Thagan! I like the fish with guns. This game is pretty simplistic, but I think that's a strength here. It's pretty quick and intuitive to figure out what to do. The hand drawn art is also great. Nice work!
This game is tough! After about 10-15 tries i couldn't get anything to the door. That said, i really like the idea, and the graphics are great. Nice work!
