Cosmic Time-Out by nratcliff 2021-10-08T21:45:30Z

Super cute! It was really fun smashing the blocks together and throwing them off of the ledge if they messed up. It was pretty difficult so I couldn't get past the second hill level. The graphics are adorable and the audio really fits. The Prixce is written really well. Great job!

Unstable Equilibrium by baknik 2021-10-05T14:17:09Z

This was a pretty interesting game. I really liked the physics puzzles. I'd love to see this expanded on to make a complete game. It took some trial and error for me to get the hang of the gun but once I was used to it I was able to quickly solve the puzzles. When you make this larger, I think it would be better to only give the player one or two functions on the gun. Maybe even just start them off with gravity so they can understand each mechanic one at a time. Best of luck working on expanding this!

Return To The Ranch: Project Freedom by jelch 2021-10-08T21:26:44Z

I really liked this game. It's really fun just to destroy stuff and escape from the bombs. It would help if there was more visual aid to the bombs. Even just a grey sphere that expanded to the range of the explosions. Also, I did find a bug when I tried to get revenge on the Baron. I ran at the Baron with the scoop down, then tried to lift the scoop and the Baron. But that pushed me down and outside of bounds so when I stopped playing I was falling infinitely. I love the graphics and the music. Well done!

A Crumbly Planet by kumber 2021-10-05T14:56:59Z

This game was adorable! I loved the little scream the astronaut made when falling through. I had a lot of fun with this game. And the twist was really good. For a second I thought the game had just restart. Well done! My only critique is the game feels sluggish so I felt like I had to wait to get over to a spot, only to learn it wasn't a viable path.

Quantum Split by rubr 2021-10-06T01:00:57Z

I really like this game. It was really engaging and I had to really think on those last few puzzles. It was challenging but it never felt unfair. My only critique is that the opening for each level was a bit slow. It might be nice if the person talking would have their dialogue appear and scroll while you were able to play. That way if you've already played the level a few times, you can just jump right back in without needing to go through the opening dialogue. Otherwise graphics and audio are amazing. Well done!

Il Bambino by gamebuilder 2021-10-06T01:10:11Z

This was a nice little game. It feels like a simpler version of an adventure game. Really well done. The story even is pretty well presented for a jam game. Some parts of the game almost feel like I'm reading through a children's story-book, which I think was intended.

Devil's Sitter by VPhyre 2021-10-07T20:02:38Z

I liked this game. The baby's crying sound got very annoying, but I think that fits the story pretty well. It was a bit odd how bouncy the babysitter's walk animation was. It felt out of place to me. Otherwise very well done. I had a lot of fun playing this!

U-49 Meltdown by Blue Pin Studio 2021-10-05T13:38:46Z

This game was really cute. I really enjoyed how I had to backtrack after cooling the rod. My path to get to the pool means I have to make a different way. I did find I could just spam the jump button and move and most of the time I could get to where I needed to go. There's also a bit of information overload with all of the possible platforms, but it kindof helps I think. Overall, really fun game!

Topple Tower by Kroporo 2021-10-04T20:21:55Z

I had a lot of fun with this. Maybe it's just because I never got to play with these kinds of blocks when I was little but making a tower with them and seeing how much you can knock off without making it fall down was pretty fun. It would be really cool if there was a display that showed how many blocks had been knocked off so far. It could be like a kind of high-score!

Alche-Tea by loueee 2021-10-04T20:02:43Z

Really good game. I did have some trouble knowing what to do. It took me a while to figure out to put stuff in the teapot. I got a high-score of 102 but I'm not really sure what I did to get there. It is a super chill game and it's pretty relaxing to just mix stuff and see what it makes, but I feel like a little more guidance for the player would be super helpful

Tables & Tremors by SlimmerBurger 2021-10-05T15:15:00Z

I can't lie this is the most fun game I've played so far from Ludum Dare in general. Great job! I did have trouble with getting past level 10 no matter how hard I tried. That might just mean I need to get better. But a more forgiving table targeting might help. The reticle was fairly large so it did get hard to see the table after it flies away. I do love the graphics and the brief pause when doing a ground pound. There is a bug though (unless it's intended) where I can press the ground pound button repeatedly and spawn multiple iterations of particles. It doesn't seem to affect my computer, but it might be worth debugging for performance. All in all, great job!

UNSTABLE - The UNstable cattle STABLE by rucksack 2021-10-04T20:10:16Z

Really fun game! I had a lot of trouble once I had to manage changing the type of adapter for each wave. It was a lot to handle but I'm sure I could overcome it if I had more time to play. I did have some trouble with clicking around where sometimes I wouldn't actually end up grabbing the adapter but this really only helped the game. Well done!

....To the Ends of the World and Back by Peace Of Cake Games 2021-10-05T13:52:10Z

The game was pretty relaxing. I liked reading the banter. I got to a point where the screen went white, then black, and everything stopped. I'm not sure if that was the end or if I broke something. Either way looks pretty good!

Push Comes to Shove by Threaded Lama Digital 2021-10-06T00:31:12Z

It's a nice little game. I wish I had friends to play it with. Otherwise well done!

The Lost Souls by Wbertrand 2021-10-07T19:47:46Z

I loved this game! The dialogue was pretty well written and the music fit really well. While the song was ramping up I kept feeling like it was building to some dark conclusion, and the ending fit that well. Great job!

Watch your step by Haematite 2021-10-06T00:49:01Z

Looks really good! I got to the 3rd level. I'm usually pretty bad at rouge-likes so maybe the game was a bit too difficult, but maybe it's just because I'm really bad at that type of game. I really like the art and sound effects. The little slashes from the sword are cute!

The Probability of Meltdown Is Minimal by DarthBoseiju 2021-10-04T21:08:11Z

This is a pretty tense game. My two runs were total disasters because I didn't imagine a reasonable factory would need me to take screws off to get access. Once I figured that out all the little puzzles were a breeze. Maybe helping the player understand at the beginning how cheap the factory owners were with worker safety, or make it easier to notice the screws. Either way the mood was on point! Well done!

The Forgotten World by QueenOfSquiggles 2021-10-07T19:37:34Z

@d3w @spolarium @darthboseiju @threaded-lama-digital @haematite @rubr @gamebuilder @misfire-dev @wbertrand @katelyn-d @vphyre Thank you all for playing my game. I did a small bugfix (changes noted in my main post). If you want to try the game with at least fewer bugs it is currently live at the same link as before. I'm hoping to also fix the bug where most of the animations don't play for things I made animations for. All battling enemies as well as the talking skulls are supposed to have animations, it just won't play.

The Forgotten World by QueenOfSquiggles 2021-10-09T22:45:30Z

@thetotemguy Thanks for the review

@jitspoe @omiya-games Thank you for the streams! It was nice to hear your feedback in real-time!

The Forgotten World by QueenOfSquiggles 2021-10-12T18:07:19Z

@omiya-games Thanks so much for the detailed feedback! Already I've solved the bugs with crashing (they were on the game engine side so I had to do some digging). I'm starting now to work on my first "Post-Jam" version of the game, which I intend on including a lot of the features you're recommending. Thank you so much for the support!

Finite Runner by Anthony Servedio 2021-10-04T20:30:20Z

This was pretty awesome! I forgot I was playing a jam game for a while while playing it. It is a little bit floaty, but it is pretty rewarding to master and it creates a really good tension between wanting to move and not losing stability. I started trying to run and fall instead of jumping as often as I could to maintain a high stability. Didn't work very well, but I think I got up to a score of 150

Click For Living by d3w 2021-10-05T14:49:33Z

This has been a pretty interesting game. I love simulation games and seeing how everything interacts. This game reminded me of Equilinox. Really well done! Once I got to my first T-Rex I thought, "Wouldn't it be funny if the danger sign is just a human." I did have trouble understanding what was happening sometimes. It looks like everything was dying really fast but my numbers for different creatures stayed the same. If you want to take this game a step further, having the animals reproduce and then also die would be very interesting. That level of simulation could be as educational as it would be fun.

Meteorite Meltdown by Grace Schorno 2021-10-07T19:50:42Z

Pretty well done. I can't really comment on much of the game because I couldn't get past the first part when the particles start coming from the walls. I think if the up and down movement was as fast as the side to side I could probably get past that part. Otherwise well done!

Unstable Adventures of the Space Engineer by Sceef 2021-10-05T14:03:27Z

It looks like a pretty good game. I ran into the problem of not knowing why my health was going down. I was trying to figure out if there was a specific ship module that was in charge of health but I couldn't figure it out. Without knowing how it works it's hard to give a good recommendation, so I'd say maybe help the player understand why the health is going down? It was fun to play as is, but I just spent my time mindlessly walking around doing the minigame.

Unstable flowers by Adroman 2021-10-04T20:53:46Z

I really enjoyed playing this game. I've never played a tower defense game quite like it. I made it through 29 waves on medium. I think it was super funny when I got an earthquake and the information pane just said something like "I hope at least one of your towers got destroyed". That was pretty funny. It was to tell if the armour damage did anything. I'm not sure of a solution for that, it just was a bit hard to guess what was needed for each bug.

Lord Glutton by Spolarium 2021-10-05T15:28:24Z

This is a cute little game. I got really frustrated with the other people really quickly, but I imagine that it the point of the game. I didn't last very long but the game was pretty clear and easy to pick up. It would be interesting to see how allowing the player to pick up two things at once would affect the gameplay.

Nth Space by thetotemguy 2021-10-09T00:24:57Z

I really liked the puzzles for this. The music was very chill and the 2d/3d mechanic was super fun to mess around with. I did struggle in the beginning because I didn't realize I could pick up the pink cube for a bit. Maybe some text in the first room saying that you can pick up pink objects would be enough to solve that. If you were to carry this further, I'd suggest using textures and shapes to help define what can be picked up because if someone were playing and is colourblind, it may be difficult for them to see. Obviously that's usually a post-jam concern. Great job!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Duo Dungeon by DavidBradbury 2022-10-03T21:09:16Z

I enjoyed playing it. The changing perspectives was a bit hard to predict, but I feel that was a big part of the fun of the game. I'd really enjoy playing a larger version of this game. I especially think it would be super fun to make a "couch co-op" version of this game, where each player swaps between the two characters. It could create some really exciting moments where the players need to context switch a lot. However that could also get mentally exhausting for long periods of time so maybe ensuring short play sessions is the way to go.

A Space Polka in Ten Parts by eerongal 2022-10-03T21:04:36Z

This was super fun! I loved how fast paced it was. The game was a bit easy to complete, but possibly it was just good RNG? I'm not sure how much of it is scripted or not.

Space Frontier by Ben Yazi 2022-10-05T21:36:23Z

I really enjoyed this game! I actually forgot for a bit that I was playing a jam game because it felt like the kinds of games I would play online when I was younger. Great job!

BackToSchool by Ironfred 2022-10-04T19:04:53Z

I had a really fun time playing. It was super tense and Teddy actually made me jump a few times. One issue I did run into was that if I turned too far left, there was a limit? I wonder if the left-right camera rotation is clamped? It also was a bit strange to walk straight through different props, but I got used to it. Congrats!

This Metal Heart Still Beats by QueenOfSquiggles 2022-10-21T19:13:35Z

Thanks so much y'all!

@yword, @odakine, @rubiia, you and the others who didn't comment pushed me out of the danger zone! Thanks so much. Your comments brought me to tears. I really appreciate this <3

MineKeeper by flanne 2022-10-03T20:58:51Z

I had some fun playing, but it was really tough. I think the enemies really start to stack up incredibly fast with the 10 second spawn rate. I'd almost reduce it to one enemy every ten seconds because if the player can't build up their defenses to match, the enemies will start to stack and deal increasing damage to the base.

AnathemA by 3mpty 2023-10-08T19:05:37Z

I had an amazing time playing this game! Super impressive for a first godot game!!! For future reference, Godot can export to Linux super easily, so doing that would make it easier to play your game! (I did figure it out eventually  )

Whack-a-Soul by JavaSaurus 2023-10-08T18:47:12Z

I really enjoyed the graphics of this game! The music was also pretty good! I did really struggle to get very far in the game, but it was still fun to fail and try again a bunch of times.

Gremlin Books Incorporated by bramreth 2023-10-08T19:27:45Z

I had an absolute blast playing this game! it was super fun and I totally felt that "Portal"/Valve style of narration. I also got so excited when I accidentally threw a book and it was automatically placed on the shelf it hit. The mechanics were simple but fun and I would love to see more of a game like this (especially with a longer story and varying mechanics!).

Void Hunter by GreenPig 2023-10-08T18:21:53Z

I had a fairly hard time playing this game. The web version was kinda borked for me, it wouldn't detect attack button presses. Not sure if I played the original or updated desktop version, but running through WINE (on linux) it had some weird quirks such as detecting my attack click on release instead of on press, which would have been more intuitive. And the enemy health bars didn't seem to change at all. It seemed like it was possible to heal with items like the banana, but I couldn't figure out how to use it so I never managed to get past the first planet. Also my intuition was to start in the center, until I realized the edge was the easier planets.

Calves of the Braves by Furano 2023-10-04T21:20:22Z

I had a super fun time playing this! (Works excellent on linux BTW!) The art style was fun and I really enjoyed the sound effects and visuals of when a character lost the round. Excellent job! My only complaint is that it did take me a few rounds before I actually understood how to play and was able to beat the first level. I make games, that doesn't mean I'm any good at them LOL

Setting the Stage by Baconeta 2023-10-03T22:07:59Z

To answer your earlier question, it runs just fine on Linux and Firefox! I had an absolute blast figuring out who plays what instruments and how to create a good composition. I definitely am not too experienced with music but it felt like I could hear it when the composition was too discordant! Really loved it! I only wish I could remove musicians and instruments after changing my mind!

The Intruder by Willby 2023-10-08T19:03:50Z

This game looks super cool and I wish I could play it! I'm on linux and I've tried Wine, Bottles' gaming configuration of Wine, Lutris gaming configuration of Wine, and even Steam Proton! It just kept crashing :sob: I was trying 1.1. Sorry I can't rate your game!!!

Contact Range by QueenOfSquiggles 2023-10-07T17:32:16Z

@3empty I really appreciate hearing that about my art! I honestly considered it to be "programmer art" since that's my main area of expertise. I'll have to hone my skills into this style though if that's what everyone keeps telling me!

Contact Range by QueenOfSquiggles 2023-10-08T16:21:14Z

@tkap1 @greenpig @qaolin @javasaurus @pabloabraham @rossk @willby @3mpty I'm sorry for the delay but I'm going to try to play and rate all of your games today! I had to do a bit of research into some tools some people suggested for getting windows executables to run on my linux machine. So theoretically I should be able to play everyone's games and get ratings in (also I might have rated some of your games already but I can't really remember right now. I'll get to everyone I can!! )

Limited Heart by Dennis Magnusson 2023-10-03T21:38:56Z

I really enjoyed this game. The actual mechanics were incredibly simple but combined with the live action story telliing it was really engaging. Though I am not a "David" I imagine you have a friend that was intended for. I absolutely loved that part! I will say that some of the audio did feel out of sync with the videos. I'm not certain if that was intentional so I didn't grade you too poorly for that. It was pretty cool to see live action acting for a jam game! I've never seen that before!

Bimbi's Cosmo Party by Frib 2023-10-03T21:55:28Z

I really wanna try this game but I don't know if I'll be able to coordinate with friends in time! Sorry!!

Don't Get Crushed! by RossK 2023-10-08T18:53:28Z

I had a pretty fun time once I got the hang of the mechanics. Even got to level 2! I would definitely appreciate some UI elements like a pause menu and such. But otherwise really well done!

The Knight Bus by pascalbros 2023-10-03T21:46:32Z

I had a fun time playing. Though I am rather terrible at the controls. Pretty good execution of the theme as well as the core mechanics. Also the way the audio if affecting by the shrinking is probably my favourite part!

Compact Looter by Qaolin 2023-10-08T18:43:25Z

I had a bit of trouble getting to actually play the game (Unreal really doesn't like running on Linux LOL). But once I got into the game I was having a lot of fun. The act of getting things to fit and deciding if I spend time getting a container first was pretty great. I do gotta say that "Alt F4 to exit" is generally a huge red flag for me. I would have appreciated a specific key bind to close the program since some linux systems actually don't use Alt+F4 for terminating an application. Overall well done! I didn't even manage to beat the level but I still had a blast!

Fishpile by mina 2023-10-04T21:46:48Z

I really like this game! It was so relaxing I forgot for a while that I was supposed to be ranking it  I thought the sounds and the sprites were super adorable (especially the great shark! It's a sweetie baby!) I really like how to mechanics were fairly simple but once the sharks were added it created a twist on the existing game. Really well done! My only complaint is that fish falling out of the ship was super frustrating! Maybe if there was some way to "re-catch" them it could be less frustrating?

DigHard by Tkap1 2023-10-08T18:12:04Z

It was a pretty interesting game, easy to understand mechanics with some nice graphics and sound. Impressive to get this done on stream, I'd never manage that with my anxiety  . I did have a major struggle with the controls because I kept accidentally restarting when I wanted to dash sometimes. So I never managed to actually beat the game because of it. Maybe making those key binds a bit further apart or rebindable would be nice. For American Qwerty keyboards they are right next to each other.
