But on a more serious note, I do believe it is an interesting exploration into the perils of bureaucracy. I didn't care about doing the sensible thing, which is to shelf books based on what they were (ex: all copies of Dune in the same place), just to use the T/M/B row B/Y/R color system. Similarly, I was constantly rewarded for simply shredding perfectly good books, rather than placing them next to shelves until more become available, or shelving them in the wrong places.
It is systems, not people, that push towards absurdity.
This game has a Source Engine feeling, I love this feeling
I really enjoyed this game. It took me a while to figure out I could jump although I probably just missed a hint somewhere. I loved the voice over and the difficulty curve was well-judged. Great fun :)
@andrei-olaru I'm glad you enjoyed my first voice acting gig :sweat_smile:. Also excellent choice to store all copies of Dune (and hopefully Sand Pile) in the same spot!
@soot-potato CSG shape level blocking in Godot mostly courtesy of @bramreth will give you a very source 1 level feeling :smile:
@extar Probably should have reminded the player that in addition to a second hand they also have legs.

Great looking and sounding game! The gameplay is a tad simple but at the same time its enjoyable filling up all the shelfs. lovely game well done!
Getting such strong portal vibes with the narration and humor. Love it every bit! Cat shredder FTW
I really like the humor in this! :)
Idk how you managed to do it but the game feels like a little Valve gig haha. It's great! The humor and the overall feel is honestly pretty much unmatched, really well done! (~ ̄³ ̄)~
@jo-bettaque @anatol-dumitras Glad you guys liked our writing efforts as much as we enjoyed coming up with the lines during the jam :laughing:
This game is really fun and has amazing visuals and voice acting. Even though it ran quite slowly on my Mac, I still enjoyed playing it. Great jobs and nom nom nom nom nom nom...
Could not move the camera for the life of me, even after setting the sensitivity to very high :sob:
You took a simple premise and really ran away with it! The writing, voice acting, and music kept me going as I slowly drowned under the oodles of books. At one point I chucked a book out of panic and it bounced perfectly onto a shelf, and I couldn't help but burst out laughing. Excellent game!
Really love the graphics and style, voice acting is superb. I had a hard time getting books into the top shelf and did end up ragequitting :sweat:
As others have said, the vibe on this one is very Portal/Stanley Parable. I like that a lot about it. The way books in your hand wiggle and shake as you move the mouse around is a very nice touch.
The one piece of feedback I have: I had to set my mouse sensitivity to "Very High" and my own mouse's DPI fairly high to get a comfortable sensitivity.
Very nice job!
Very cool game. It's quite impressive for the a 72 hour jam. It also has some really cool voice acting. Great Job team!
I had an absolute blast playing this game! it was super fun and I totally felt that "Portal"/Valve style of narration. I also got so excited when I accidentally threw a book and it was automatically placed on the shelf it hit. The mechanics were simple but fun and I would love to see more of a game like this (especially with a longer story and varying mechanics!).
@bluedandelion glad you enjoyed it :heart:. @queenofsquiggles we lost lost many minutes during this jam just throwing books around the level and trickshotting them into shelves instead of working on stuff :sweat_smile:
This was an interesting game. I like the voice over a lot. When rotating a book to see what section its in, it seems like I had to rotate it all the way around to the back. It would be nice if the side label was viewable so it could speed up that confirmation. Also, is there a way to remove a book that you have placed?
cool game, keep up the good work
Really liked the game, but the camera felt all weird and even after I maxed the sensitivity I still had to lift my mouse to turn around, but otherwise a very fun game.
At its core the gameplay is simple. It was the story and hilarious voice acting that kept me engaged and playing for longer than I expected. I had way too much fun playing basketball with the cat shredder, but maybe I shouldn't be rewarded for that. The graphics and lighting really feel like an office/warehouse.
Great job! :tm:
@djtequila Thank you™
@inventivum-games what platform are you on, I've had it be too sensitive but never had to pick my mouse up to turn :sweat_smile:
@darkmax14 I'm on windows never had this issue in the past.
well done. The work of a librarian has never been so exciting.
@fatemperor Isn't it :books:
@inventivum-games That's a weird one, I'll have a look if I can find anyone else reporting the issue with godot engine games. Might just be an unfortunate combo of your mouse hardware settings, your windows mouse settings and godot's default mouse sensitivity
I had some problems with the mouse control (it seems to rotate the view based on my acceleration rather than position?)
The game is cool and funny with a Portal mood ^^ good job
