It's simple and fun with nice aesthetics. Dope track on it too, very hypnotic. I only wish there was an end goal and multiple levels.

I really like runner games. This one has a little bit funny physics sometimes. I didn't really get the part about unstable object, it feels a bit forced by the theme. I think it would make more sense and could be really interesting if the unstable object made the physics be weirder and weirder. You would have to make the levels be maybe easier. I played a dozen times and I haven't lost on the time, I always fell down before that. Visuals are okay. Audio is awesome. Keep it up!

This was pretty awesome! I forgot I was playing a jam game for a while while playing it. It is a little bit floaty, but it is pretty rewarding to master and it creates a really good tension between wanting to move and not losing stability. I started trying to run and fall instead of jumping as often as I could to maintain a high stability. Didn't work very well, but I think I got up to a score of 150

yaroslav-kravtsov 2021-10-04 20:53

It's quite interesting idea to make runner where you need to stop and wait. Little controversial, but I like this approach. Btw, if you controll movement by keyboard then it's better to make restart button on keyboard too.

lachlanm 2021-10-05 02:08

I really liked the backing track for the game. Making the player stop was an interesting game mechanic and broke up the monotony of some of the running, forcing you to plan ahead. I also liked the background visual.

xwilarg 2021-10-05 12:54

Others already said it but the fact that you have to stay close to the "death" bar while running from it is great! I also like the music

chesschaser 2021-10-05 15:33

Fun little entry!

lyna-kuzuryu 2021-10-05 15:34

I like how you need to take into account on the burden you are placing on your legs for once

anthony-servedio 2021-10-05 15:38

Thanks for the comment!!

frozendoze 2021-10-05 15:44

Great funny runner!

Hi interesting entry, I like the idea of the damage to reduce the maximal run length, first I thought the controls where weird, but when I got used to them they seemed fine. The random generation should have had some min y distance (height difference) because I got stuck sometimes. I also feel like the camera should have been pulled out more so I could see more stuff in advance. But overall nice concept and good execution. (I enjoyed the music as well, I didn`t even think about making music (hmm maybe next time)).

Simple and fun. Not a bad thing! You've got a very strong foundation for a fun game, and that's usually the hardest part to get right. Looking very promising if you choose to develop the game further. Controls were a bit awkward, but that's not something I'd ding you on because of the time frame. Nice job.

menta 2021-10-05 15:55

Man, its so scary to have to wait for stability when that thing is chasing you! :D

jyzz 2021-10-05 17:57

I liked it! was fun! It's the kind of little game that could make me addicted for a good amount of time tryin to get the best score I can. A bit frustrated by the fact that your "health" bar goes down even when you're just dropping from a platform to another. But I think it's the only thing.

jyzz 2021-10-05 17:59

Also if u spend more time on it after the jam, i think u could make it even funnier by add feature that could help the player surviving longer over time since the "ennemy" bar goes faster and faster.

anthony-servedio 2021-10-05 18:16

@jyzz I had a few more features in mind but didn’t have time to get them in. I also originally wanted this to be a one button game but was struggling with making the game fluid with it. Thanks for the rating!!

lllarso 2021-10-05 18:56

I had fun with the jumping. The controls felt good. The music was fitting for this type of game.

One suggestion: I think you should have chosen a faster walk animation.

Overall a good entry! :)

ethanzech 2021-10-06 00:01

Simple idea, but solidly done.

I think this could use some polish like animations and some touching up on the movement, but overall very solid.

dedjo0 2021-10-06 14:42

Simple but addictive, good job !

kenforest 2021-10-06 15:52

Funny simple game. Good runner.

ruofusun 2021-10-06 16:31

Maybe adding more movable platforms can be better? There are a lot situations that jumping is necessary and I can also wait on the same spot to recover. So most of times I will not cherish jump times. If platforms can move h/v, maybe player can choose between sacrifice time or jump chances.

anthony-servedio 2021-10-06 17:13

@ruofusun I had plans for some falling platforms but didn’t get a chance to implement them.

niterich 2021-10-06 20:43

Solid entry, I thought the music was really catchy.

But did anyone else's game appear super small and refused to resize? I played as best I can but the screen was only about a hundred pixels wide. (I'm on Windows 10, if that helps)

xsangyhix 2021-10-06 20:50

Good acceleration and deceleration. The music works well, may be a little bit too loud. I am missing audio feedback on jumping and animations on running. A paralax background would be nice too. Don't really feel the theme working here.

lucdeligne 2021-10-06 21:29

I like the constant changes in pace that the 'you have to stop every so often' mechanic induces. I think that core idea could really be expanded upon.

Simple but nice visuals and good choice of music too.

svemir 2021-10-07 14:09

The controls feel good and the music is great, keeps you engaged and wanting to play more. I feel like if the view was zoomed out a little more, it could give you a bit more time to plan your upcoming jumps.

vphyre 2021-10-08 16:38

I liked your game proposal. The mechanics of jumping platforms that seem to be randomly generated, while being careful with the red bar on top, is interesting.

The graphics are simple, but I think they work well with the game's proposal.

Sound helps to create an interesting mood. I liked the music. My only observation is above the volume of the sound, in case you allow me to suggest. Perhaps your game could have a sound with lower volume, or have a possibility for the player to control the volume within the game. Who plays with headphones (as was my case), the loud sound can interfere a little bit the experience, in my opinion.

And the gameplay is cool. Simple and functional. It's a lot of fun trying to improve your score. It's a game that you can easily spend a lot of time playing and having fun with. My only suggestion is just about the mechanics of the red bar. There comes a point in the game when you can no longer manage the control of the red bar, since you are very close to the bar that delimits the end of the scenario on the left. I couldn't find a strategy to overcome this and keep increasing my score after playing for a while. I think maybe you could generate some item for example after a certain time, which could reset the red bar, or just make the bar decrease a little bit.

But understand, these remarks I made don't detract from the real value of your game.

In the end I think your game is really fun. The simplicity that your game has, I liked a lot. Good job!

balduin 2021-10-08 16:52

The idea that you have to stop to fill up the bar is something new which I have not seen before. For me personally it didn´t really work, because it stops the flow of the game, but I can see that others enjoyed it. The game is still fun and the controls are pretty responsive.

curleysam 2021-10-08 17:28

The idea of having to stop and wait is neat! (we did something similar in our game haha) And the music was a bop. 😄 The jumping took a little getting used to but was fine when I did. Good effort and great entry! well done

rufson 2021-10-09 00:07

Cool ideas with a bar and a stop to stabilize the object. A little bit of polishing and it could be graphically nicer, like a pixel font and no filtering textures for sharp edges on the main character. Good music choice.

npr0nn 2021-10-11 05:12

Simple, solid and fun idea, I had lots of fun playing it ;)

shea-kelly 2021-10-14 23:02

It’s a very good platformer and I like how simplistic the art style is
