LD49 — Unstable (25)

Undeliverable by CodeChomper 2021-10-06T00:32:59Z ♥ 3

I like this, very unique compared to all the other games. Big and open is nice. The truck controls were a bit floaty (I feel like it should turn quicker) but very fun.

RAGE HORSE by SlickRamen 2021-10-06T00:23:30Z ♥ 4

Man, the polish on this is INSANE. Literally the only drawback to this is that it's lacking content, but the gameplay is top-tier, feels great. I had a lot of fun playing around in the one level. Really impressive for 48 hours to put together something so nice.

Stabilaser by Unfocused Locust Games 2021-10-06T00:18:53Z ♥ 1

Very fun idea, though it's a bit rough. For me the mouse sensitivity seemed to be really high. Also, there were some layering issues (I think one of the buttons appeared over my character) But the game was fun and left me wanting more levels, so good work!

Runtime Exception by FunkyHedgehog 2021-10-06T00:14:54Z ♥ 1

This was very cool. The gameplay is rough but interacting with the environment is very interesting and intrigued me. I had a bit of a laugh when I clicked one of those toggle platforms and the platform I was on disappeared and I fell into the void. I liked how forgiving the checkpoints were so I didn't have to like restart from the beginning when I messed up.

Good stuff.

Unstable Relation by Mathiouza 2021-10-06T00:06:20Z ♥ 1

Actually pretty impressive. Gameplay felt solid, and the rolls were sick.

I will say that I found it weird that when you are walking, you're direction is based on your wasd inputs, but when you attack your direction is based on your mouse look. Feels like it should be one or the other.

But yeah, that's my only problem, graphics were pretty cool and you had some nice features.

Finite Runner by Anthony Servedio 2021-10-06T00:01:37Z ♥ 2

Simple idea, but solidly done.

I think this could use some polish like animations and some touching up on the movement, but overall very solid.

Contact Nesigur by Trexxak 2021-10-05T00:20:19Z ♥ 2

I have no idea what this game even was, but it's probably the most unique game I've played here so far lol.

Good stuff.

[ERROR 404] by Feesh 2021-10-04T23:59:59Z ♥ 2

Well built game. I do have to say I wish that there was a checkpoint given at the beginning of the screen transition on each page. For a game where you die a lot it was really tedious walking back to the actual challenge. Also the controls felt a bit weird, I really felt like I was fighting them rather than working with them. I think free movement would have been a better choice.

Lava Frog by mathgeek 2021-10-04T23:54:17Z ♥ 1

I like the mouse gameplay. The way it is now it's a bit too challenging, like it felt like random chance really if I would land on a platform. Perhaps it would be more fun if the platforms were bigger?

Unstable Memories by potkirland 2021-10-04T23:50:22Z ♥ 1

Cool graphics, but I have no idea what to do. Got stuck on the "Press e to start the machine" prompt.

The Ruins of Cuglatr 2 by unpronounceable 2021-10-04T17:43:10Z ♥ 2

Pretty cool, you don't see many games of this style anymore. I ran into a bug. After I got to the factory I died by a turret. After that every time I made a character once I moved to select one of the starting options after creation it would open the gravestone back up and restart me.

Ball of Chaos by OmegaFalcon 2021-10-04T17:20:28Z ♥ 1

Cool concept, you carried it out well. I was surprised at the complexity you were able to create from a simple concept.

I will say though that when you introduce two or more elements changing at different rates it becomes prohibitively difficult. Like instead of just playing the game I was just having to memorize when to press the jump button. I spent like 5 minutes on that level with the spike corridor on the top left and once I got to the next one with three changing elements I just gave up.

As this is kind of a rage game I think it would be cool to see a death counter or level counter or something.

Stoned! by Its_Capp 2021-10-04T17:06:14Z ♥ 1

Fun idea, the game was enjoyable. I will say that I felt like jumping was a bit unresponsive. Also I think that you should be able to make more than one stone at once because for a while I was jumping into lava rather than turning to stone and I was confused before I found out it was because I had a stone left over from before.

Crane of Duty by StanTheSoupKing 2021-10-04T03:21:25Z ♥ 0

Good graphics! I feel like this game should really have the controls listed on the side or something.

Dominion by Shootboots 2021-10-04T02:23:38Z ♥ 1

Pretty cool, seems that the best strategy is to make a big cell and launch it at the enemy. You executed your idea very well.

AtomBurst by Tigeryue 2021-10-04T02:18:50Z ♥ 1

Pretty cool, the controls are good.

Only problem I found is that when you collect enough for the burst, if you are too close to a purple square it can kill you without the explosion destroying it.

Un Stabled by 0DarkAndNerdy 2021-10-04T02:04:59Z ♥ 2

Mega difficult, but funny.

Cucumber best horse.

Clowning Around by Casteled 2021-10-04T01:56:45Z ♥ 2

Surprisingly fun game! It seems really simple at first, but it's challenging and the ground pound allows for some fun movement. The music and sounds were great too. Good stuff!

Breakaway by Mark Smith 2021-10-04T01:52:36Z ♥ 0

This was a pretty funny game. I didn't expect it to be anymore than a runner at first so I was surprised at the fishing mini-game and what came after. Pretty cool.

Fancy hat upgrade best upgrade.

Pills by shellofagirl 2021-10-04T01:43:14Z ♥ 0

Very bizarre haha. The gameplay is almost none-existent but the mood is there and I got a laugh out of it.

Atomica by Wassim 2021-10-04T01:38:48Z ♥ 2

The graphics were quite stunning, despite how simple they were. I felt like I was zooming through the stars.

However the gameplay was a bit lacking. The falling things from the sky are no problem as long as you keep moving, so there really isn't any challenge. The only challenge was if I could sit still long enough to finish.

Tones of the World by khaotom 2021-10-04T01:31:28Z ♥ 1

Man I don't even know what you made but I can see that you achieved what you wanted perfectly. The mood of this game is perfect and unique.

The gameplay is a bit weak but you set a good tone. The music really fit.

Globs With Guns by Zachary Shah 2021-10-04T01:25:51Z ♥ 1

I was impressed with how much you were able to do with a simple art style. Looked very clean. The dialogue between the two globs was more charming then I expected.

I will say though something about not having control over when control switches is just inherently annoying. Once I finish killing all the enemies or pushing all the blocks it just feels like I need to spend twice as long finishing the other task. I think a good way to have worked with this is to make it so that once you kill all the enemies it doesn't switch over to the shooting controls anymore. Or even put in a timer or something to how long you have until you change

Very interesting game.

b-Blaster by velaachlorine 2021-10-04T01:07:34Z ♥ 1

Got top high score of 1016. Game was solid, the graphics were unique, and the sound design was amazing. Really liked the sound Small complaints are that once you get to a score of ~1000 it seems to be almost impossible to surpass it because the particle ejects its mass really quickly. Also I think the screen clear would have been better if it worked when you clicked it or pressed a button, because I pretty much only ever triggered it by accident. Very solid and polished for 48 hours.

Unstable Isotope by Nafe 2021-10-04T00:57:23Z ♥ 3

Enjoyable, a tad short. The puzzles were fun, even if the jumping felt a bit off. Overall very polished.
