Atom do be going boom boom
The graphics were quite stunning, despite how simple they were. I felt like I was zooming through the stars.
However the gameplay was a bit lacking. The falling things from the sky are no problem as long as you keep moving, so there really isn't any challenge. The only challenge was if I could sit still long enough to finish.
there really isn’t any challenge but graphics were cool
@ethanzech @varundevs Thanks for your feedback, will make sure issues would be fixed soon.
Both music and sfx were really good. All levels are way too long and a bit too easy. The actual collecting of the subatomic particles was pretty good it just needed a bit more forgiveness such as more particles, having your tendrils count as coliders and booster particles. More orange neutrons that are more aggressive BUT only can hit you from the front cone of vision would probably be a good change too. pretty fun game and super impressive for a compo submission.
@arcticlion Thanks for the feedback much appreciated.
Nice game! Graphics and music are great. I think the goal is too long and that takes away a bit of the fun. Really polished entry.
@jose-bonilla Thanks for the feedback mate, Will make sure to improve on that!
As mentioned before, a litte bit unchallenging but thats not my point... solid graphics, gameplay and sounds, enjoyed it. Well done Compo :) - Btw. the mouse sensitivity is on spot :P
@melektaus Thank you for your honest feedback and I really liked that you enjoyed the graphics gameplay and sounds!
Great game, very zen!
I liked the simple unique art and the gameplay was pretty fun too, although I did not manage to finish it. You can see me play it here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1171194872?t=00h55m56s
Great concept of unstable atoms! Overall, I enjoyed playing the game while listening to some of the chillax music in it. One thing that was quite hard was probably the aiming, since the core/player was pretty big and was blocking the center of the screen just a bit, so I think the camera angle could've been adjusted a just little. Edit: forgot to mention that the intro was super cool and a nice touch. Not everyone is able to make it in time to credit themselves in jam games :]
I liked your entry, and there are a lot of good things about it, but I have a few notes for it if you don't mind me cutting straight to the feedback.
The movement feels too fast, but if you like it that fast, try adding a held button that slows things down.
The camera zooming when activating the movement is too intense, and it makes it even harder to collide with the smaller bits.
In regards to collision, you could make the colliders a little bigger than the meshes to give the player some room to actually see what they are colliding with. However, the issue of not being able to predict collision is mostly caused by the fact that the player cant actually see where they are going. The players vision is blocked by their own sphere, and the way you set up the environments and the objects in the scene made it hard to interpret depth (the darkness + the emissive colored spheres.) I know the vibe you were going for, but I think it would help a lot to add some other larger, more clearly defined objects to the scene to give the player a reference point for depth.
Sorry for the big ol feedback dump. Overall, you did a great job scoping your project and submitting a finished game is an accomplishment. Keep up the good work!
@bougiebirdie @bajtix @danial-jumagaliyev @curdlegames Thanks for the feedback guys, Really appreciate that!
Game looks cool, and music is good - the main thing I'd like is a way to pull the targets to the player - maybe just some kind of magnetism to increase the radius you can grab the various bits at? As others have mentioned aiming can be difficult and I think just increasing your pull radius would help quite a bit!
@darthboseiju Thank Darth, I really appreciate your honest feedback would make sure to make it better within future updates
Nice compo submission! Like the idea and the overall mood of the game, but the actual gameplay is... well not so excitiong in my opinion. Anyways, great job and thanks for submission!
@leokrechmer Thanks for your honest feedback!
I feel like idea is good, but the progression is too slow for it to be more fun. If you ever do post-jam updates, I'd suggest having some groups of particles around (even whole smaller atoms, maybe?) so the player can increment the counters faster (the player having to avoid going past the target values would add some risk to the game).
The music is very nice and, combined with the graphics (I love the simplicity of it, it makes me feel like I am in space, only more colorful, which I LOVE!) gives a nice, relaxing experience even with the boom booms XD Still, I love the concept, and while it is a difficult game (got exploded multiple times and never reached the halfway point in easy mode), I want to play the game over and over again as it is just that much fun! Great game, I love it!
Mouse sensitivity is a bit high. And I think the atom you catch can have a bigger bounding box and can help you catch other atom when you carry it. Explosion not kill you but remove some atom from you. This can help the game pace be more dynamic. Graphic is simple and nice.
@yikescloud Haha. Mouse was too sluggish for me (I'm on a trackball ) but keyboard turns are flippin' fast.
The most problem I had is the atom itself occluding whatever is in front of it making it difficult to navigate.
Yayoi Kusama approves this game.
A nice chill game. didn't manage to collect enough bits but was fun trying.
Stunning graphics! I felt the gameplay was a little boring (the boom boom followers were easily avoided by moving constantly) and maybe this could be avoided by making simpler atoms, at least at the beginning. Keep up the good work!
I think the difficulty is the player bounding box too small(only the white ball), and it not enlarger when you pick more atoms, a bit unfair I guess
The idea is good. I think the game could be improved by asking the player to collect less (it is too much, it is over 100 parts to collect). Also, if you get hit, you lose immediately, which is discouraging. If getting hit just make you lose 1 part (or a pair of proton, neutron and electron), I think it would make the game more fair.
@wendel-scardua Thank you for your review, would definitely think of adding these in post jam updates!
@ladymistleaf Thanks for the review and stream gameplay really got great feedback!
@yikescloud @ic-rainbow Thanks guys, I'll make sure to ad sensitivity adjustment or something similar in future updates!
@harmadillo Thank you I'm glad you got the chills!
@kumber Thanks man, will definitely keep in mind!
@zimny11 Thanks for the feedback man, would definitely think of that in post jam updates!
