LD47 — Stuck in a loop

two tapes by Aurel300 2020-10-09T15:04:36Z

Excellent game! I love adventure + puzzle games like this. It has a Lucasarts vibe. I love it. The only thing I would improve (considering this is for a jam) is the camera rotation thing, it felt a bit uncomfortable. Great job! Also thanks for playing my game in your stream. Good luck!

The operator by Hadik 2020-10-15T04:16:51Z

Nice job, very clean aesthetic! it sure wasn't easy. Pretty innovative. I would love to be able to zoom in and out. Good job!

Hide and Seek by DDRKirbyISQ 2020-10-25T03:25:04Z

My favorite game of the game. This is beautiful. Amazing! Good job!

Toucan's Revenge by AfroAnt 2020-10-08T05:18:52Z

I loved your game! Amazing. I finished it. Kudos! One of my favorite games so far. Only think I would do is speed up the walk a little so you can progress faster between rooms. Also thanks for playing my game on your stream. Best of luck!

The Infinite Ark by SaraJS 2020-10-10T06:02:24Z

Impressive game. I did not particularly like the graphics, but apart from that, it's obviously a very well made game. Also thanks for playing my game on your stream (however bad). Good luck!

Ragtime Loop by doomshmuck 2020-10-06T03:31:28Z

Nice idea, as you said, mixing platforming with rythmic play. With more time you could really improve this, especially the controls (I found them a little bit unresponsive) and obviously improve the music (as said on the humorous description) and graphics. Good job!

Precious Pergatory by LordKawaii 2020-10-15T04:22:35Z

Hi, nice graphics and mood. However the controls were really floaty and not very responsive. I think if you improve on those the game will be so much better. Regards!

GitGood Dungeon by Quoclon 2020-10-06T03:26:19Z

Good job doing this game! I think it's a simple, fun game. I made it to loop 4. I noticed some of the small bugs you've already talked about, but nothing too bad. It's fun to play.

Over Unity - A puzzle game by nardandas 2020-10-08T04:24:19Z

Good puzzle game idea! However it is hard to understand the perspective and move to where you want to go and grab the object. I managed to reach level 4, however I did levels 2 and 3 just by placing the ball in the windmill without using the arrow stuff. Not sure if this was intended or there is something going on. Good luck!

Development Purgatory by Ghost20000 2020-10-10T06:35:44Z

This is my favorite game of the jam, bar none. Perfect score. Really, congratulations on the game. The only thing I'd change is collisions in the boss battle, but not a problem since it was easy (I lost twice before beating it). Great job, congratulations!

Ouroboros: The Cursed Hero by LERPish 2020-10-08T02:54:41Z

Hi, I played your game. The intro was impressive. I felt the controls were a bit hard (maybe because of the camera angles?) Still I managed to defeat the boss, which was a bit buggy itself. Overall nice job. Good luck!

Defuse in under 5 by Darylsteak 2020-10-14T02:48:08Z

Good job! A tutorial would be good, but after grasping it it's fine. I liked it! Good luck!

Stuck In A Loop - Veggie Loop Edition by Dwayne 2020-10-06T04:32:40Z

Excellent game - great execution. Very original. Nice graphics! Thumbs up.

Bermuda Triangle by Humpert764 2020-10-15T03:50:49Z

Really nice tower defense game with a variation. I didn't like the sounds (the AAAAA sound from the ships is especially annoying) but otherwise it's really fun. I noticed a bug where I finished wave 1 (text appeared saying wave 2 was starting) but then it said I lost because I did not jam the comms; however, the jammer says it jams all signals from ships wave 2 and below. Anyway, good job! Good luck!

Descent into Madness by Zelberor 2020-10-07T04:11:20Z

Hi and good try. It's really hard to actually complete a game in a jam. Your game does have some issues and this will probably mean a lower rating than you would hope, but surely you learned a lot and you will most likely improve for the next jam. Good luck!

One Hit Wonder by Azemut 2020-10-08T04:15:42Z

Very unique game! I think it's missing a tutorial or small explanation at the beginning. If you could work on the game a lot more and polish it, I think you could easily sell it. Best of luck!

RENT by Jam373 2020-10-15T18:37:37Z

Hi, great entry, innovative! Minigames are fun. I found the controls a little bit unresponsive at times. Interesting graphic style, although not my cup of tea. Don't worry about the entry, I saw you have already participated in four LDs. Good luck!

Hiccup Time by Somogy 2020-10-06T03:18:51Z

Hey, nice game! I liked the idea very much, especially the Humor. I think it's innovative. I would fix those bugs (the mimics pushed me out of the dungeon and I couldn't come back) but overall it is a solid concept. Congrats!

Looping Gazelle by Maxime Cyr 2020-10-15T04:08:27Z

Nice game! I really liked the art style and mood. I think it lacks some polish but obviously this is expected for a jam game. As others said I think you can push this further and improve it so much. Good luck!

HONK II by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2020-10-14T02:55:07Z

Solid game. Great job guys! Only complaint is the screenshake, I think it's exaggerated. Nice entry, best of luck!

Pillars of Anguish by Outfrost 2020-10-08T03:34:41Z

Awesome game. I loved the humor and the game itself is really good. Best game I've played so far in the jam. Great job!

"Used to it." by TheAidency 2020-10-15T03:59:51Z

Beautiful game, about a very serious issue. By far the most visually appealing game I've played in the jam so far. Kudos! I found the music level too low and the sounds level too high, but otherwise great job! Obviosuly more story would have been amazing.

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-07T00:42:52Z

Thank you so much for the ratings and comments so far :) @samdemaine Thanks for the praise :) good luck to you as well @sandpile Thanks for your kind comments. I think it's easier with a gamepad and also as @ericbolseiro mentioned, the shoot mechanic is tied to a specific state, so it doesn't let you shoot while moving or rotating. Good luck! @will-isaacson Thanks, there actually is a zoom level control with mousewheel (mainly for testing purposes) but I didn't think it was "fair" to actually include it as a game. Good luck! @ericbolseiro Thanks for your great feedback. 1) as said before, the shoot is a separate state, which I think in retrospective was a mistake (it needs to be built into all states in order to be able to do both things at the same time). 2) Agreed, actually happened to me too in a playtest. 3) Agreed, but when you win a race your life goes back to 100%. Thanks for playing and good luck!

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-07T16:37:43Z

Thanks a lot for all your kind comments! @necauqua, thanks for your praise :) I love minimalist games as well, plus my graphics skills are nearly zero :D Good luck! @OddSocks thanks for your comments! I agree on the controls, however I'm not sure, apart from tinkering with sensitivity and fixing the shoot+move state, what else could be done to improve them. Good luck! @sam-minh thanks for your kind comments :) control comments seem to be the main culprit. Good luck! @jetyh Thanks for your comments :) I'm happy to see y'all found it looking nice! Good luck!

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-08T05:09:35Z

Thanks a lot @fammy! did you manage to rate it? I'd appreciate a rating as well! Good luck!

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-08T16:07:48Z

Thanks a lot guys! @guaranteedtrainwreck Thanks so much for your quality feedback! I never thought of AZERTY keyboards, great point! I will support arrow keys in the future. Also I wrote the music at the last minute, so yeah, not very good. I will check your game as well. Good luck! @afroant thanks so much for trying my game on your stream! The map is bigger than it should be, I agree... it's because I planned to add more features (as always, scope creep). The bullets are weak (too small). Thanks so much and congrats for your game! Good luck!

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-08T21:24:19Z

@skeffles thanks for playing it! In order to find the diamonds you must enter the black holes and run through the race loop, this will unlock the diamond. Good luck!

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-10T06:05:50Z

@eugenik Thanks for rating and playing my game! Good luck! @Sesca Thanks for trying it, controls did not help. Good luck! @raphiell thanks, I totally agree, controls should have been better. Good luck! @etrealjunior Thanks for your kind feedback, gravitational fields would be amazing and I simply ran out of time. Good luck!

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-10T06:37:14Z

@etrealjunior eu sou do Mexico mas eu vou jogar voce jogo :) obrigado pelo messagem

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-15T18:33:53Z

@jam373 thanks a lot for your kind comments and extensive feedback! Completely agree on everything you said. I also played and rated your game btw. Good luck and thnaks again!

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-20T04:04:19Z

@satolas thank you so much for your kind words and thorough review! Agreed on the controller stuff, as others said I think it's the main culprit. Thanks for playing it! I will for sure check, play and rate your game. Best of luck!

12 Space Diamonds by José Bonilla 2020-10-22T02:15:59Z

@zoeagxn thanks a lot for your kind comment! Best of luck!

Crazy Roundabout by ArmenBalian 2020-10-08T02:41:24Z

Nice idea and good execution! I felt an actual goal was missing, such as max time spent with a leaderboard, or points or collectibles. Good luck!

Paper Planes by SamDemaine 2020-10-05T23:25:45Z

Nice game, fun to play! A bit simplistic but well executed. Also nice use of the theme. Good job.

Infinty Loop by MrSamafu 2020-10-10T06:23:39Z

Good job on this one. I think the controls are a bit floaty/glitchy at times. Nice idea about the loop. Good luck!

Life is Loop by frances 2020-10-15T04:13:40Z

Nice game, innovative! I wish I got to the end, but the "click to live" was so slow. I guess it's ironic because life passes by so fast. Nice job and good luck!

Frozen Potency by Eugenik 2020-10-08T03:01:09Z

Hey, it was a good simple game, but fun. Hard, too! I'm now 81 in the world, lol. Good job, I felt the turns in the corners were really slow, maybe you could accelerate that. Good job!

Character Madness by Karoukodil 2020-10-10T06:15:18Z

Interesting game. A bit intimidating with all the different characters having different mechanics, but it's interesting. Good job.

Resurrection by etrealjunior 2020-10-07T17:31:55Z

Congratulations on the game! I really liked it, minimalistic but very well executed. I found the jump a little bit hard to control, but other than that I liked it.

Resurrection by etrealjunior 2020-10-10T06:38:57Z

Great game! I had already rated it but missed the comments part. Bom jogo, parabêns! I liked the monochrome graphics a lot and the music. I think it's a bit too easy, but apart from that it's great.

Koinax Loop by dreamscale 2020-10-08T03:14:05Z

Really fun game. I really enjoyed it. You should polish it a little bit more overall and publish an updated version post-jam. Good luck!

INSIDE THE LOOP by aerloth 2020-10-20T05:13:17Z

Hi, congratulations for your game! Is is very well made and it is certainly challenging. It is disorienting, but this is the intention. I would improve the handholding and include a tutorial for the post-jam version. Best regards!

Get Over Yourself by SpawnCampGames 2020-10-10T19:23:50Z

Good idea but I think it's a bit complex. Controls feel a little bit unresponsive. Nice graphics and voice acting! Good luck!

FIND THE DOOR by udhayakeethan U 2020-10-07T04:26:21Z

I could not play it either. Sorry. If you correct it, let me know and I'll play and re-rate.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

And deeper goes the keeper by Nicso 2021-05-17T22:16:04Z

This is a gorgeous experience, the graphics and mood earn top marks. Beautiful, beautiful game. I felt it just a tad slow and I think increasing this just a little bit would improve the overall game experience even more. Congrats, especially for compo!

Monkey Quest by paulloz 2021-05-03T04:04:23Z

Beautiful game, as others said it's very polished. The only thing I would fix is the hitboxes which are a bit too strict. Other than that, great job!

Manic Miner by ryannielson 2021-05-05T16:45:58Z

Very simple game, pretty fun. Nicely executed for compo.

CTRL BASE ZERO by ted 2021-05-03T03:54:08Z

Hey, nice work on this one! Too bad you ran out of time, I can see this benefiting from many additional hours of grinding to expand the story and levels, fix the inconsistent game design elements and producing something more playable. The graphic style is great and the mood too. Keep working on it, I'd love to play it once it's more advanced :)

Hole Town by dob 2021-05-18T19:00:21Z

I liked the game, it's a good compo entry. I played two times and managed to get the victory in both. My main feedback would be that I did not find a way to lose (lol), is there it? A time limit would also be nice. Overall good execution, congrats!

Astral Abyss by darthone 2021-05-12T00:52:57Z

Congratulations on submitting your compo game! I agree with comments above in the sense that the main thing lacking is motivation to keep playing and exploring. The enemies are passive and do not pose a threat and you can basically keep expanding forever. You can work on improving this to make a much more interesting and balanced game.

Depth by SaraJS 2021-04-27T03:47:05Z

Amazing 3D game. Great job as always. It's a bit hard to figure out when you're going to bump with a wall, but other than that, amazing. Nice work!

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2021-05-02T04:52:00Z

Beautiful game. You can expand this into a full fledged release. The pixel particle effects and graphics are amazing. I would tweak the jumps (they're kind of floaty, they don't make much difference but they will feel better) and improve the controls (I did not like the keyboard mapping you have, I did not try the controller but I guess it's better - you should let them be remapped). This is impressive for a compo game. Congratulations!

depthscraper by lexi 2021-05-06T16:56:03Z

Good game, I think it's a nice semi-casual puzzle game, it could be improved and released on mobile. It is a bit rough and could be polished way more with more sound, music, particle effects etc. but it's a great little concept for a future game.

Abyssonaut by thomas-olsson 2021-05-03T04:17:59Z

Beautiful game and graphics, I love the physics of rock throwing. I didn't get the balloon part - since there's no fall damage and I managed to fall, I just kept going until I got the egg and started to use the jetpack to go back (unfortunately I died to lava). I think the keyboard controls are not very comfortable, I'd rather use W to go up/jetpack and mouse to kick, I wish there was a way to remap them. Amazing game nonetheless, great job!

Below Earth's Crust by LogFlames 2021-05-02T04:32:57Z

The game is amazing, I loved the mood of it. I finished collecting everything. I wish there was something else to do, also after I collected everything and docked, it only showed like a "vault" with all the stuff and would not let me do anything (apparently the game has the win condition programmed but no actions or text appear there). Brilliant game though, you could expand this into a purchase worthy game if you add more variation, things to do, hazards, etc. Congrats

Depths of Fear by Evannex 2021-05-02T04:54:07Z

Hi, I could not play your game, the HTML5 build looks broken (probably server error). I did not rate it obviously, just so you know. If you can fix it, I will play it for sure.

Fallumns by Logan 2021-05-19T00:47:26Z

Congratulations, you won LD48!!! great job!

D&D&D by lot9s 2021-04-28T01:02:02Z

It's a good little game, the "Nooo!" sound is hilarious. You could easily improve this game heaps off-jam, introducing so many more features and stuff. The weapon and movement is overpowered - I won easily by keeping space held and zigzagging from left to right, while staying at the very top of the window. It also obviously does not feel as polished and especially since you're learning a new engine. But you have a very good strating MVP to improve on. Congratulations on finishing and submitting!

X Feet Under by morphine 2021-05-17T22:02:56Z

This game is really well done. A bit complex for my own taste, but interesting. Good job, especially for a compo game. Obviously with a game this ambitious has a lot of opportunities for polish. You can work on those later and evolve this into an amazing game! Keep it up!

Meltdown, Down, Down by Cruise Elroy 2021-05-17T21:47:28Z

As a fellow compo-er and programmer of a VERY similar game than yours (my game is a strategic take on this exact same situation and mechanics, yours is the action-packed take) I *loved* your game (also, fellow game engine programmer - mine is in GMS2 as well). It's the most fun I've personally had this LD48, and there are some very good games out there. I'm amazed at the polish on this. This is beautiful. Congratulations on pulling this off!

I tried four times to finish it without success. The last try I managed to get enough money to buy the last upgrade, but couldn't make it on time to the surface before the volcano exploded. Really enjoyable game.

OceanMen by Talia 2021-05-04T04:11:12Z

Hi, your HTML5 build seems broken. I wasn't able to load it in Opera GX. I did not rate.

The Red Crystal by Bastienre4 2021-05-18T18:49:59Z

Good entry. The atmosphere/mood is nice as well as the graphics. The lore is cool. I couldn't finish it. I think the UI could be a little more polished, but obviously the time constraint for the compo is restrictive. Good work!

Animals in the Deep by Spicy Boi 2005 2021-05-02T04:39:56Z

Hi, first of all, congratulations on submitting a game for LD! This is a huge achievement on itself. I think you have a nice idea of a game and a cool concept. You need to work to refine and polish it. I'd work on improving the controls: the horizontal movement has too much acceleration (you don't need it), the jumps do not feel good and the player gets stuck into walls (work on the collisions). After you've improved that, you can work towards having more stuff to do. If you commit to it and keep working on it you will have a great game! Keep it up!

Bunny Bunny Dig Dig by ZakAmana 2021-04-30T15:17:20Z

Good game, it's very polished, especially for a solo jam game. You are a talented artist. Should make a fine mobile game as well.

The Stick of Many Things™ by Ty Victorson 2021-05-05T18:26:06Z

Hi, the graphics are beautiful, especially the bloom and lighting effects. I did not find it particularly fun to play, mainly because it's a little bit bland, but I think you can develop it further. Congrats for submitting it.

Quick Scrap by Vimlark 2021-04-27T03:36:53Z

An excellent game vimlark! Great job. I love your art style. I liked the movement mechanics as well. I think you should add more levels, but it's really polished. Congratulations!

Down the Dwarvern Hole by TheseusInABottle 2021-05-04T04:23:52Z

Omg the humor in this one is amazing! This is the best humor I've played this LD, and the voice over just makes it better. The puzzle game itself is good as well, I think you can expand it. Good job especially for a compo!

Down the Dwarvern Hole by TheseusInABottle 2021-05-04T04:23:53Z

Omg the humor in this one is amazing! This is the best humor I've played this LD, and the voice over just makes it better. The puzzle game itself is good as well, I think you can expand it. Good job especially for a compo!

RogueRally by ComicSans 2021-04-27T03:32:13Z

Hi, I loved this puzzle game! Reminds me of a board game called Hacker. Nicely done, For some reason the audio was not playing on my machine. Good job!

Deep Golf by dmdmdmdm 2021-05-18T19:03:58Z

Good hustle for a compo game, especially the graphics! I found the game a bit boring to play and a bit slow, to be honest. I think you can improve it a lot.

Run Ant Run by Ryano 2021-04-27T03:41:18Z

Very nice concept, well executed! Nice way of using a generated maze.

20.000 LIGHT YEARS deep in THE SKY by Arivenzys 2021-05-05T16:42:35Z

Beautiful, beautiful game. Impressive. I haven't reached Eden yet, I reached ending B and C. But it's amazing! My only feedback would be to improve the instructions/tutorial a little bit. Amazing!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-27T02:38:23Z

@ancooper thanks for your comments :) I fixed the lift bug in the published version (1.1), if you want to give it another shot :)

@ennacirruh Thanks a lot for your comments and great you liked it. I added a better explanation in the fixed. The HUD health effect is a nice idea, I will implement it if I keep working on the game. Thanks!

@haztro Thanks for your comments :) You should give it another shot, now that you've read the tips & tricks AND you've experienced what it is to die alone in the depths :D

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-27T04:11:18Z

@zlan100 Thanks for your kind comments! You should try again, maybe you can find the most valuable gem of all :)

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-27T05:15:54Z

@ubershmekel thanks a lot for the great comments! I am really proud you enjoyed it. I (think I) fixed the elevator bug in the bug fix version (1.1). Thanks for playing it!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-27T06:52:40Z

@litmuszest amazing!!! You were so close to reaching the last level! One more try maybe? Carrying health packs would be a good alternative, your health decreases fast at that depth. Thanks so much for playing it :)

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-27T18:50:36Z

@thegreenworm Thanks for your comments! A non-jam release might add an "easy" mode in which pickaxe and headlamp repairs are free and automine is on! Thanks for playing and rating!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-27T18:52:40Z

@jogy34 Thanks for playing, great comments! I considered ability to mine the block above but decided not to, it was a design decision (it forces you to tunnel above it and recover it). Automine would be useful for an "easy mode". The health warning is a good idea.

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-27T19:17:22Z

Thanks @falzock for your comments, glad you liked it!

@timbertoes thank you, I'm really glad you liked it! :)

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-30T14:10:37Z

@blue-pin-studio thanks a lot for your comments and glad you liked it! Yeah, a "rescue" option with penalty and the "auto-mine" option are both great ideas, that others have suggested as well. If I continue developing the game I will include these for sure. Thanks again!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-30T15:48:00Z

@jordan-carroll Thanks!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-02T04:55:30Z

@miej I know the feeling! I think it could be fixed by letting mine up (not diagonal), but I guess I liked the idea of having to plan the dig in order to mine. Thanks for playing and hope you enjoyed it!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-04T04:08:04Z

@jandourek Thanks a lot for playing it! I can confirm the elevator issue IS a bug, I fixed that as soon as I checked it in version 1.1 (you probably downloaded the initial version). The health stuff has been mentioned as well by many players. I'm working on a 1.2 release with that tuned down as well. Finally, you are right about the jewel distribution, I am improving that as well in order to make it more rewarding. Thanks for your kind comments and hope you try the improved version once I publish it :)

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-04T04:09:43Z

@bentglasstube Thanks for playing it! The auto-mine issue has been mentioned quite a lot, I already enabled it in the upcoming version 1.2 (if you keep the button pressed you will keep mining). I've also enabled mine up in order to make it easier. Glad you enjoyed it :)

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-04T16:41:57Z

@gorethumb thanks for playing the game, I agree with the feedback and will incorporate some of those into 1.2.

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-04T16:44:22Z

@zimny11 Thanks a lot for playing it :) Digging up, rescue option (with a penalty) and auto-mine, will all be implemented in the 1.2 version I'm working now. Hope you can play it when I release it. Thanks for your feedback!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-05T06:00:50Z

Hi @miej @jogy34 @haztro @falzock @zimny11 @zlan100 @ancooper @justcamh

I have released an alpha version of **Shiny Depths v1.2**! It includes almost everything you mentioned in the comments above. I would be delighted if you played it and gave me your opinion! Go download the zip file in my itch.io page: https://biyectivo.itch.io/shiny-depths

Changelog: * Auto-mine is enabled by popular demand! Click and hold to mine. * You can now mine upwards, by popular demand! * You can call for rescue if you get stuck down the mine! You'll lose all your gems, though. Click the "Call for rescue" link at the bottom right. * You can now hover over your backpack icon to show what you're carrying and the total value. * Your health, pickaxe and battery life will change colors to indicate low values. * Jewel tooltips now show value as well as weight. * Introduced particle effects to make mining cooler! * Improved death message, you can now check out many more stats about your run! * Tweaked health decrease (now much easier), jewel generation (now more generous) and other parameters.

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-06T15:49:03Z

@zimny11 WOW! congratulations! I promised I'd reward the first player to obtain it. I'll send you a $10 Amazon gift card if you give me your email. Did you find the tweaks (health decrease rate, jewel generation probs, etc.) better?

Regarding future development, if I find enough interest I'm willing to develop it further. If you help me share the love, it might be possible.

Good job! And thanks for playing the update!!!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-06T15:49:31Z

@der-finski Thanks a lot for playing it!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-06T17:00:34Z

@salier Thanks so much for playing it! I guess you played the compo version, the health decrease rate in that one is indeed a bit too aggressive. I have since released a post-compo 1.2 version in which the health decrease rate is toned down, as well as many other improvements that have come directly from all you folks' great feedback!

The depth of the lift idea is one I had since I was working in the compo, but sadly did not have time to do it then. The fall damage would be great as well. If I continue developing this I will surely explore those two, as well as some other ideas I have in my (mental) backlog (boulders than can fall on you, other dangers such as spiders/critters that sometimes pop up when you dig, etc.)

Again thanks for playing it!

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-06T18:04:44Z

@zimny11 Thanks so much for your kind comments! I've briefly checked Glean, I'll check it later. :)

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-05-06T21:26:42Z

@rocktavious Thanks so much! It was a bit stressful because I had only like 40% actually programmed by Sunday (even though I had most of the features thought out). But somehow I managed to finish on time and submit.

If you are interested, you can download an play the 1.2 alpha version from my itch.io page (https://biyectivo.itch.io/shiny-depths).

Regards,

Cutting Edge by Notan Lemon 2021-05-12T00:44:20Z

Nice puzzle game, simple but well executed. I think you have room to polish it as it is a bit rough around the edges. Keep it up!

Archeo by zimny11 2021-05-04T04:15:44Z

Good job with this unique game, max points for innovation. I liked the mechanics. I felt the animations and the general UI are a bit unpolished, you can work on improving these. Like the music. Good job!

Deeply Organic by DoctorTM 2021-05-06T22:43:40Z

Amazing game, very creative, super humorous. Actual game mechanics need more polish (e.g. jumps are floaty, collisions etc.) but great job.

River, Carry Me Away by Noire 2021-04-28T00:17:44Z

Beautiful experience and story. Obviously it's just a visual novel, so not much fun really from a gameplay perspective, but amazing graphics. I agree with previous messages in that further interactivity would be much appreciated. Congratulations.

Selkö by Doot 2021-05-06T22:56:10Z

Cool little game. Very nice graphics and nice music. It's polished and it's fun, albeit very simple and short (I would love it to be much larger and complex). Congrats for submitting!

Dungeon Faller by SouthpawDevelopment 2021-05-02T04:46:03Z

Hi thanks for your game. It's nice. I really wish it was a little bit more rewarding at the start, either I had bad luck or I didn't really see much reward from the first runs. I like the idea, but I think you need to keep polishing it. Congrats for submitting to compo, though!

Dungeon Faller by SouthpawDevelopment 2021-05-02T04:46:04Z

Hi thanks for your game. It's nice. I really wish it was a little bit more rewarding at the start, either I had bad luck or I didn't really see much reward from the first runs. I like the idea, but I think you need to keep polishing it. Congrats for submitting to compo, though!

Inner Pieces by Eckkert 2021-04-27T03:24:17Z

Good game! The graphics and mood were really beautiful, the audio was good as well. I didn't find a way to "win", maybe I didn't play enough, but I had so many moods already. Obviously in game instructions/tutorial would be great, but for a jam game it's fine. Congrats!

Untitled Simulator by Eugenik 2021-05-05T18:44:04Z

A nice interpretation of the theme (great job there) and good game. My main gripe with this is the speed of text, it's way too slow and there's no way to skip it. I agree with other comments in that the camera should move independently of the text selection. Good job.

Afraid to Turn by rhoff95 2021-05-02T05:04:33Z

Nice art and game! I probably suck at it, since I did not manage to win, but I loved the controls. I think it's polished for a compo game. I loved the theme and I agree with others in that you can make it even more terrifying by making the ambiance darker. I did not like that you throw anything at the wolf (not just rocks) and hence you have to go pick up more berries if you get attacked. My only other criticism is the problem with Opera GX/Chrome and HTML5 not loading. Great job overall!

Third Party by Duckonaut 2021-05-03T04:29:13Z

Beautiful, beautiful game, amazing stealth mechanics. I love the way you let users use corpses. Everything is amazing, easily one of the best games I've played this LD edition, even though this edition I've seen really amazing games already!

Crust by exopunk 2021-04-30T15:04:10Z

Really nice game. Beautiful execution, great mechanics (love the pinballesque bumpers). Very polished. Amazing.

ROOTS by TheGreenWorm 2021-05-05T17:11:09Z

Beautiful, beautiful game. Amazing!!! Really well executed and polished, especially for a compo.

Ziggurat by nethead 2021-05-06T17:54:56Z

Hi, I enjoyed the game! The graphics are really cool in a retro, PICO-8 way. The idea is good. I felt the wall "grab" mechanic is a bit odd but it's not bad enough to not enjoy it or be able to play it. The audio is great. You can expand this and improve it into a full-fledged game.

10,001 - A space exploration game by tengusheath 2021-05-04T04:20:48Z

It's a good game concept, I think you can improve it by making sure the player has an objective and more things to do (fetch x, destroy y, refuel etc.). The graphics look nice. Overall your compo effort is very good. Keep it up!

The Deepest Space by Robotex 2021-04-29T05:09:03Z

Hi and congrats for submitting for the compo! I think the main issue I have with it is that it's really hard to find the fuel. The concept is good and you can grow it, just a bit rough for a game jam. I would suggest you make an easier game for next jams.

1000 Fathoms by Dom De Re 2021-05-05T16:51:00Z

Nice concept. Two player coop seems much more fun than playing alone. Music and sound can be improved, but apart from that it's minimalistic.

I'm So Deep by liammasters 2021-04-27T03:19:51Z

Hilarious little game! I played it thrice, I was once "So Deep" and the other two were bad poems, apparently. Nice take on the theme. Good job :)

Am I only dreaming? by DerGamer 2021-04-30T15:47:32Z

Congratulations for your first jam game, you should be proud of submitting, especially for compo. Keep working and improving your programming and art skills and I'm sure you'll do progressively better (I can tell from experience). Regards!

Deeper Into The Forest by siberpunk01 2021-05-05T16:14:55Z

The graphics are beautiful. The game does feel slow (movement itself and the floaty jumps) and there are some killing bugs (I managed to get stuck twice into a platform). If you fix the bugs and improve movement you might have a nice platformer concept to work on, that could become something much better in the near future! Keep it up.

DeepScape by koalabear 2021-04-27T17:02:06Z

Beautiful, beautiful game. Your pixel art skills are rad. Fun as well. I found two unexpected behaviors (I got stuck with the sub in the bed of the ocean once, and the bad guys do not swim on the canals but rather can seemingly go through walls). I think with more polish this can be a fully released game. Congrats!

Dig Deep Get Gold by Tim77 2021-05-04T04:28:04Z

An amazing idea and well executed, the rhythm game combined with the binary tree is one of the cleverest of the compo. I love it. If you improve graphics and audio a little bit and introduce a little bit more variety you could very well publish that game into the mobile store. I'd play it for sure. Congrats!

HELL deep is your love? by Villanelle 2021-04-27T16:00:05Z

Hi, a difficult game indeed! Nice graphics and animations. I would make the hitboxes a little bit more lenient, but other than that it's a great concept that could well be extended into a full game. Congrats!

Jojo's Treasure by poddlesli 2021-04-27T03:28:42Z

Very nice art! Unfortunately I couldn't do anything other than trap the first bad guy into a hole I dug, I didn't find a way a advance to the other rooms to search for the keys. Thanks!

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-05T17:57:35Z

The best game I've played of the Jam (not Compo). I feel the controls can be smoother and I don't like I can't jump with W, but other than that the physics, graphics and everything else is amazing. Congrats!

Spin On by Hruhf 2021-04-30T15:41:32Z

Hi, it's a great idea and I the graphics are good. I think the controls and physics variables need some tweaking to feel right. Also the difficulty is obviously in need of tuning, as you stated. For a compo game this is great. Congrats for submitting!

Dungeon Painter by IanTheBee 2021-05-06T17:23:56Z

Amazing game. Simple, but really nice at the same time. The painting mechanic is so cool, I wish there was more things to do with it (such as invisible enemies or items that become visible if you paint them, etc.). I loved the idea. I would improve sound/music and also tweak the movement a little bit (i.e. there's a little bit of inertia when you stop moving that I think is irrelevant for this game and needlessly makes you die in spikes etc.) Overall great job!

LD49 — Unstable

ALL PLANED by Sirkovitch 2021-10-07T17:49:44Z

Great great game. 19 passengers made it safely and I landed right in the middle of the runway. Simple mechanics, amazing graphics and ambiance. Game crashed right after I was congratulated by the pilot. Overall really nice.

The Witch Exam by puppetmaster 2021-10-06T00:02:27Z

Hi, congrats on your game! I think it's a fun little game, especially for younger audiences. I do think it's not as fun as it could be and a bit simple, but overall good job!

Curse of Apep by cogcomp 2021-10-06T01:00:46Z

Hi, congrats on your project! As said by other commenters I feel unnecessary that you need to install drivers for it to work, plus the screen was drawn at the top left corner of the monitor, effectively giving me half the view. Music and graphics are nice.

Monsters by Pio 2021-10-08T17:31:31Z

Nice try and good job submitting something to compo. Found it very short, wish I could at least run away from them or fight them or something.

Back Alley E.R. by Xeke-Death 2021-10-08T13:06:33Z

Great humor and graphics! I loved the environment. I'd like to see a bit of more sound variation. Good job!

Un Stable - Escape To Greener Pasture by binroot 2021-10-06T12:43:37Z

Simple but fun game! I escaped my way to greener pastures successfully.

Unsustainable by SaraJS 2021-10-06T13:56:45Z

Beautiful game. Amazing job for a compo game. I managed to get 19 survivors. One of the best games played so far. Congrats!

SEXY BOOBY 95 by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-10-06T13:22:07Z

Nice game! Congrats for the concept. Cute art. I wish my Windows 95 machine back then was this fast!

CryptoCoaster by the.jahn 2021-10-06T13:38:25Z

Very simple but really fun game. Amazing work. Clever idea.

Giruffled by Papaver 2021-10-05T19:10:39Z

This game is awesome! The mechanics are amazing. I think level 3 is a bit too hard for being level 3. Really cool little game you did. Congrats!

Stronkey Kong by 100th_Coin 2021-10-05T21:21:23Z

Amazing game! Really fun to play, I "speed-run"'d it in 39', lol. I wish the character moved faster and the jump were less floaty, I also encountered a bug where all barrels bouncing on a corner of a girdle would be stuck there forever. Overall amazing.

Tectonicalypse by alec 2021-10-06T12:51:25Z

It's an interesting little game with casual mechanics. I'd love to see some score, combos and/or other incentives to keep playing. Nicely done.

Volatile Waters by Likirus 2021-10-07T18:40:07Z

Great compo entry, a bit unbalanced but fun to play nonetheless. I enjoyed it but lost easily after more boats came and oil drilling platforms were set up. Also nice environmental message, earned you greater mood points.

Unstable by Christian L. 2021-10-08T12:55:38Z

I liked this game, the premise is simple and the difficulty ramps up. I couldn't get past level 5. I enjoyed it. It took me two tries to understand there was a timer, I'd put that a little bit bigger. Congrats!

Atomica by Wassim 2021-10-06T00:55:08Z

Nice game! Graphics and music are great. I think the goal is too long and that takes away a bit of the fun. Really polished entry.

Portal Rescue by Vimlark 2021-10-06T14:49:08Z

Super interesting game you came up with, especially with this theme :) Really well put together and fun to play, also nice that you didn't have to super stretch yourself to make it, as told in the stream. Kudos!

Core:Unstable by eyedromeda 2021-10-06T00:48:42Z

Hey! Great game! Very similar in idea to mine (check it out if you can) and nice ambiance. I was able to finish it. Congrats!

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-05T15:46:45Z

@aquachain thanks for trying it out! I'm sorry it wasn't clearer. Could you maybe give it another try please? I've included a "How do I play?" section here and on the itch.io page. Let me know if there is something else that is not clear and I'll make sure to update the section. It would really mean a lot to me if you could try it once more :) Thanks.

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-05T15:48:13Z

@blackquiltro Hi, thanks for playing my game :) I realize it can be frustrating to wait for the emails. If you played with headphones it can be stressful to hear the bomb ticking whilst waiting for Joe to send you the next piece of the puzzle. I guess I wanted to make it frustrating "by design", as it's the point of the game, but I understand what you say. Thanks again!

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-05T15:50:01Z

@human-writes-code Hey, thanks a lot for playing it! I'm so glad you liked it. As stated above, I understand the timing can be a little bit frustrating. Another option would be if you had to do something else while the email arrives, since you can be 30 seconds to 1 minute waiting for the next piece of the puzzle.

Strange about the character getting stuck as the movement is minimal and uses the default GM pathfinding algorithm, I'll check that one out.

Thanks again!

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-05T16:20:46Z

@madjackmcmad Thanks so much for playing it in stream and for your feedback!

@malcolm thanks a lot for your kind comments! I think you got the point. Hopefully apart from tense and frustrated you also had fun :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-06T02:42:08Z

@enya454 thanks a lot! I agree, I was planning on more content through the building, but obviously overscoped. Hope you liked it :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-06T02:44:34Z

@thehansinator So cool, thanks :) I agree and the reception idea would have been great. I just spent a lot on the phone UI stuff, I think it took away time to think that through. Thanks :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-06T14:50:33Z

@juanlu Hey, thanks a lot for your kind comments! I'm so happy you liked it. I agree there is no feedback for the disarming buttons and that can lead to confusion. Cool that you beat it!!! :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-06T14:52:26Z

@jonas-michael Thanks so much for your input! I'm so happy you enjoyed it and that you found it fun to be tense :D I agree having the game show the keys needed for the signal booster (and for the bomb cooling mechanic) would have been better than cramming it in the starting tutorial. Thanks again for playing it :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-06T14:54:00Z

@lakrits Thanks so much for your critique! I'm sorry about the bomb beeping, I felt it was a nice way to up the tension. Others have made similar comments, so I think I went overboard - maybe a "clock ticking" sound would have been better. Fortunately I put the Sound toggle in the smartphone :) Thanks for playing it through :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-07T00:31:58Z

@reiqy Thanks so much for you kind comment! I'll check out your game, too. Best!

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-07T00:32:44Z

@puppetmaster Hi and thanks for playing it :) I agree on the feedback, it's super important and I didn't have time to implement it. Also, playtesting is paramount... Thanks for your comments and good luck!

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-07T01:37:11Z

@crefossus Thanks so much for playing the game! I'll check the audio stopping bug. The lights flickering is actually a feature (:D), if you run the game again you will see the lights that flicker are determined automatically (each one has a probability of 0.6 at creation time). It was meant to increase the ambiance of a bunker.

I agree completely on the feedback and pulse ideas, I ran out of time but it is definitely an important part of a good game.

The emails arrive at set timings, it was hard to calculate without much playtesting when would a good moment be for each one to arrive.

I hope you enjoyed it :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-07T21:32:00Z

@zsharpfire thanks so much for your kind comments :) Yes, completely agree. The original idea was to have a procedurally generated dungeon, then I reduced it to having to unlock the door to the plutonium room first and then I reduced it again (such is life :S). Thanks again,

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-07T21:32:29Z

@alex-chertilin Thanks for trying the game! About the camera, the idea was to have a room in a single view, but thanks for your suggestion.

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-07T21:33:09Z

@lazyseal sorry about that! Hopefully you could give it another try, checking the complete intro as well as the tips on the game page? Thanks in advance :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-07T21:34:27Z

@eyedromeda Thanks so much for your awesome comments. I agree totally on the movement - at first it was going to be a bigger world to move on, so the mouse control was ok, but given the small size of the final bunker, it would have made more sense to use WASD. Hopefully you had fun as well as being stressed :D

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-08T12:34:32Z

@javicoder thanks so much for your kind comments! Agreed on the patience :D Glad you liked it!

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-08T17:26:44Z

@xeke-death thanks for your comments :) I agree about the spamming, it actually needs to be done in order (so ZX or XZ instead of ZZ or XX) and relatively fast (the faster you do it the faster it cools down the bomb). Thanks so much for playing it :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-08T18:28:53Z

@kevlanche Thanks so much for playing in stream and your very kind comments! :)

10 minutes to instability by José Bonilla 2021-10-10T17:35:30Z

@arya-s thanks for your great comments and your feedback! Really glad you enjoyed it. I agree on the observation about the bomb still being open despite you being far away, I forgot to implement auto dismiss. Thanks again :)

Drunk Hill by Jvdwijk 2021-10-07T00:54:33Z

Nice casual game for a jam, keep it up.

Contact Nesigur by Trexxak 2021-10-06T00:42:03Z

Good job trying to make a compo game! I think you can build upon this experience to get a more cohesive product in the next jam :)

UNSTABLE witch-bridge by LaraLama 2021-10-08T13:24:34Z

I loved the art, the concept (really innovative) and I loved the audio, except moving objects seem to trigger a sound loop that eventually ends up cancelling the sound effects (not the music) on OperaGX. Other than that really good one!

Tables & Tremors by SlimmerBurger 2021-10-06T13:05:15Z

Really fun game, great idea with the mechanics. I couldn't get past level 6. The cam is a little bit sensitive, but other than that nice execution.

UNTetris by JaviCoder 2021-10-07T18:31:36Z

Good game, nice graphics. Too few levels and a bit sluggish in HTML5. But good entry for a compo.

How (Not) To Defuse Bombs by Reiqy 2021-10-06T12:57:51Z

Hi, while I think the version submitted to the compo is a bit rough, I think the idea is neat and your game has a lot of potential to grow into a full game, keep working on it. Congrats on submitting a playable game to compo, always a win no matter what!

I also made a game inspired by KTNE, if you want to check it out :)

Potion Commotion by Frozendoze 2021-10-06T15:24:47Z

Really interesting game. I didn't manage to beat all levels (I was stuck on the level with the really big gap, couldn't jump high enough even when getting to the top of the ledge). Fun game, solid mechanics. I did not like that you can't really full screen and I kept clicking outside of the window (even on scale 3). I also did not link it much with the theme. Notwithstanding, I really enjoyed playing it. Great job!

LiTransport by RandomDevelopper 2021-10-05T22:01:34Z

Really nice game, I love the 3d graphics. I agree with previous comments regarding physics, I never made it past the first downhill road. I love creating difficult games as apparently you do, but I've normally received more negative than positive feedback, so I guess this is me saying both you and me to make them a little bit easier :) Great job!

Snake Using Windows by Benjamin Halko 2021-10-08T17:34:46Z

Technically speaking, cool idea and nice execution! Also fun to try it out.

Unsteady Bounce by Comfy 2021-10-06T01:23:02Z

Very nice game overall! My kid loved it. It's a unique puzzle platformer and the drawings are very good. I never got to understand what the green slider actually does, we reached the final level without ever using it. Congrats

Unstable Genius by Doc Kaos 2021-10-06T13:14:47Z

Super hilarious. Amazing job, really innovative, really cool. Max grade for humor and innovation! Congratulations on having this amazing idea.

Road to joy by arya-s 2021-10-08T13:15:34Z

Amazing game! I absolutely loved the concept. You can polish it a lot and work on several pieces (shorter/longer notes, I can even think of co-op to play chords!) and you could release it. Great job! I'd change the controls for a more standard scheme.

Wobbly Penguins by bqq 2021-10-07T18:26:44Z

Super cool (pun intended). Congrats, amazing job.

Unstable orbit by itsmebutsolo 2021-10-05T20:38:25Z

I couldn't play it (I opened with itch Desktop app) so I did not rate it.

Jam Fall by StaticBits 2021-10-06T00:37:59Z

Hi and congrats for your first jam game! It's a fun little game, but I think you can build upon it a lot and introduce a little bit more variety. Regards!

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-07T17:55:50Z

Nice game. I enjoyed playing it. I don't feel it's a valid take on the theme (you could argue the same for almost any other game), but other than that it's good, congrats.

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-07T19:09:24Z

@pixelydian I played the web version on Firefox and did not hear any audio. I just replayed it on Opera GX and it works. I see what you mean (hiccups/cough/sneeze and this moves the camera), I updated the rating.

Paper Route by OllieOA 2021-10-07T18:10:06Z

Nice game, I liked it a lot... I wonder if you brainstormed/developed your idea for the 'Delivery' theme, but when 'Unstable' came out, you decided to adapt it. In any case, it's a good game, congrats.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Clocks & Cards by TerraCottaFrog 2022-10-19T12:44:48Z

Hi, this is a cool game, very original. I like the mechanics. I might have skipped something in the instructions completely but I felt you really couldn't lose? Sorry if I misunderstood. This made the play not as interesting as others have found (I mostly placed gears and cards inlays, did not find much use for the other cards). UI could be improved a bit. Great job though, balancing this kind of game and especially in 48 hours is challenging.

Loop Arena by Chaseplays 2022-10-04T13:38:28Z

Hi @chaseplays, congrats for submitting to compo and with a custom engine! I enjoyed playing your game, the concept is dead simple but fun. For a small, no-nonsense game like this with very simple graphics, I think execution is critical and the game is well executed. I wish you had to time the sword swoop instead of just pointing at the enemy, but that's just me. The only thing I noticed is that sometimes enemies can spawn directly over you (especially in higher waves with more density) - you want to prevent that if possible. Also, the slimes jumping at you are a bit confusing, even though the timeline above clearly shows what's happening on the 10-second loop. I reached a score of 73 in 3 plays. Good job!

Junk Seller by kimau 2022-10-05T23:01:13Z

I think the idea could work with more polish and time, but as it stands right now I think it's a bit buggy, somewhat bland and the UI is a bit finicky. I agree on clearer indicators of the orders and more visual flair to encourage to keep playing would be good. Congrats on submitting though!

Watch Out by 100th_Coin 2022-10-06T04:03:31Z

This is the best game I've played so far. Can't compete against you :) The innovation is top notch, the audio is amazing (congrats for the acapella track), the humor is so good. I found the platforming devilishly hard (my speedrun time was 29 minutes, I've seen the above screenshots with 8 minutes times!!! I spent about 20 on the batteries level. I clearly suck at platforming). Also I was about to rage-quit, but the game's so good I neeeded to finish it, so I didn't. My sole complaint is I wish you could rotate the camera, sometimes the angles were weird. Really really nice. Kudos.

Legend of the Broken Wand by thx4nothing 2022-10-08T01:09:32Z

Fun little game, it's interesting to have such different spells randomly changing. I think there is opportunity for polish especially being a compo game, and you can work on those now. Good job submitting!

The Curse of Tencond by Harry Alissavakis 2022-10-08T01:22:54Z

Absolutely fantastic game. Congratulations for your humor and mechanic discovery. Super polished, amazing. Best game I've played this jam.

miam by yopox 2022-10-04T15:36:08Z

This game is fantastic! I loved the concept, the gameplay and the graphics. I really enjoyed it. I agree on the balancing. One comment: if you modify stuff, even if they are small bug fixes or UX improvements, you should disclose it and list it on this page. Thanks! Good job!

DODGE! CATCH! DESTROY! by Solah 2022-10-06T20:35:27Z

Cool minigame game, I wish there was more variety! I liked the idea of drastically switching from something like a shoot 'em up to a butterfly catch. I'd recommend showing visual and audible alerts whenever the 10 seconds are about the expire. Good job!

Whatever Floats Your Boat by Rage Paint Games 2022-10-04T23:29:44Z

Nice jam game! The art is absolutely top notch (congrats to Signe) and the music is good as well. The game itself is fun albeit simplistic - more content and things, and/or difficulty levels, would be amazing. Congrats for submitting this game!

10 Seconds to Heaven by Mcnuttys 2022-10-05T01:06:58Z

Nice combination of a bomb survival game and Sokoban. Great idea for compo and good levels! I didn't find any instructions, but found it relatively easy to understand what's going on. Simple game but great job!

bot.copy() by Druvsaft 2022-10-07T23:33:06Z

Nice idea, on the same philosophy as mine. Interesting stuff. I loved the music and I think it's a good implementation. The 10 second period, like other games, tends to make it a bit slow, but that's not your fault. Took me a few tries to understand that the commands are global (i.e. apply to all robots and not just the next one). Thanks and good job!

Echo by caeonosphere 2022-10-06T20:47:07Z

Beautiful game, with eerie mood (best mood I've seen in the jam so far). I struggled with the "move diagonally towards the wall" instructions, I had to watch @100th-coin 's playthrough to understand how it should be done. Nice audio.

10 Seconds Defense by oda 2022-10-06T19:41:38Z

Good idea, feels like Bloons on the color Game & Watch console :) I did not get the fact that the towers shoot every 10 seconds on my plays, I think it's a great idea (upped the Theme rating one star from the previous) but you should really describe it in the game description and/or the game itself. Congrats for submitting to compo.

Machine Learning by tylerstraub 2022-10-06T03:21:56Z

Nice concept, I think it's a fun game with potential for expansion. I finished it, I liked the level design (how you have to backtrack to get what you need). Congrats for submitting to compo!

The End Position by Taximan981 2022-10-05T22:55:47Z

I really liked this game, it's relaxing and fun. Congrats! With more polish on the visuals and less repetitive music, it would be amazing, even for mobile. I spent quite a lot of time and only discovered half of the recipes. I agree with others in that the 10 second mechanic feels a little bit "forced" - if you were to pursue and improve on this idea I would recommend you to eliminate the 10 second stuff and maybe rely on other means of getting time/knowledge/power (maybe with devices similar to an RTS). Good job!

Rockatoo by AdamCYounis 2022-10-06T04:20:27Z

Extremely good and addictive, the art is beautiful and the bird is full of character! Great job. Give us more tracks! I stumbled upon the same bug mentioned above and also at some point the bird went off screen to the left. Super great job and especially for a compo.

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-04T04:13:37Z

@chaseplays thanks so much for playing it and glad you liked it! It's true, as noted on the page, the cannons are not reinitialized every time to the same state, so it's a bit inconsistent.

Post compo when my kids played it and did not get 3 stars the were also frustrated by the game clearing the commands.

For the post compo I'll fix those two. Thanks again!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-04T04:15:45Z

@chevre thanks for stopping by and I'm sorry you could not play it right away! To place commands in the UI, hover over it with your mouse and use the *scroll wheel* up and down to choose the command you want to place, *then* click.

It would really mean a lot to me if you can give it another shot, knowing the above, if you can!

Thanks

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-04T04:17:05Z

@thegamearchitect thanks for your kind comments and glad you liked it. If anything I'd say the timeline UI looks flat/uninteresting. Wouldn't know how else to depict it and be able to place commands on specific moments - will think about it though!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-04T04:18:40Z

@senso thanks so much for playing the game! It would be awesome for a mobile game, however I think it would need a major UI rewrite and maybe even reduce the 10 seconds :) so glad you liked it.

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-04T12:56:40Z

@chevre thanks a lot for trying it again!

I agree with your UX comments, I'm including some of them in the 1.0.1 bug fix. I also think obviously there's some further level balancing that needs to happen in a post-LD release (if that ever happens!). Cheers!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-04T13:28:27Z

@everyone @chevre I just uploaded the 1.0.1 version with some of the changes (see the page above)

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-04T23:18:09Z

@walaber Thank you so much for your comments! I agree on the UI/UX stuff, more needs to be done. I thought about the pool of actions but couldn't come up on time with graphical stuff to implement it. Also my kids (post-compo, since I didn't have time for letting them playtest) were trying to drag-drop already placed actions, which makes sense as you say! If I keep on updating this I will rethink the whole UI.

Note that, on the time being, I published a 1.0.1 post-compo build which at least allows you to use spacebar to start/stop the timeline, shows currently selected (non-placed) action with transparency and allows to keep the last configuration - all ideas by @chaseplays and @chevre :)

Thanks again!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-05T13:17:32Z

@aristurtle thank you so much for playing it and very glad you liked it! Never heard of Robot Turtles, but there's a solo board game called *Hacker* my eldest son used to play that has similar concepts. The command picker idea you mention would be great (I'm thinking something like a context menu), others have pointed out the UI needs improvement and I think that would be one good way of making it better, plus it would be more suitable for playing it on a touchscreen device.

Thanks!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-05T13:22:06Z

@euler-moises thanks so much! Great that you liked the game and also the music, I improvised a little on the piano (performed it on my digital piano and recorded it to my PC).

The bug you show might have to do is surely related to the easing of the UI elements (note that the buttons, options and level name UI is also lower than it should), I'm at work right now and can't access the GameMaker project but I'm probably just not resetting the initial position of the UI elements on the start of the level, and my easing script works on a delta (not on a target value / I knew this was a bad idea but didn't have time to change it) so if you click "restart" twice too quickly, then the easing starts from an already higher (or lower) position and ends up farther from where it should. Thanks for pointing that out, I will release version 1.0.2 and upload it as soon as possible.

Thanks again!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-05T13:44:51Z

@mira thanks for playing it and so proud you liked the game and the music! As I was pointing out above, I improvised the music and recorded it from my digital piano to my computer. This was like 30 minutes before the deadline :)

Level 5 is beatable depending on the version: if you played the original compo version it's just a matter of starting the timeline at the right time, since barriers are not synced exactly the same every time (this was a bug with barriers and cannons, as described on the page). If you played the post-compo fix, you should be able to double jump to the middle platform, wait there for a bit and then go forward, you should reach the goal at nearly 10 seconds. Probably too hard though for level 5 :)

Thanks!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-05T22:37:29Z

hey @mira, thanks for your post again! I just played both (the post-compo fix and the original) and you're right about the post-compo fix - the gate timings in the post-compo fix are wrong. I've now uploaded the 1.0.2 fix (with the fix for the interface bug reported by @euler-moises) and fixed the barrier timings that were changed from the compo version to the post-compo version, when I fixed the inconsistency on the timings. Sorry about that.

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-06T21:45:02Z

@pincushion Thanks so much for your kind words and very glad you liked it so much! Now that you've rated, you can play version 1.0.2 where I have already included what you suggest (others had suggested it before). In post-compo versions, previous instructions persist until you quit the game, so it's easy to try for the three stars. Thanks again!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-07T23:30:40Z

@druvsaft Thanks for playing! Indeed the post-compo version is for people who want to play after rating it and want to see the issues fixed.

Input method/UI in general is definitely tricky here and can go many places depending on input type (keyboard vs mouse vs touch...) etc. I did check out your bot.copy() game as well and I see what you mean about the inputs, that would be a little different approach.

Thanks a lot and glad you liked it!

@zimny11 thanks so much for you kind feedback! I agree, I fixed the non-deterministic stuff on cannons and barriers on Post Compo version. Unfortunately I couldn't allot time to play test and fix it before the compo submission. ESC should open the already available options menu as well, this sounds obvious but is not implemented. Thanks for the suggestions!

Countdown Cowboy by waffleworksgames 2022-10-08T01:31:42Z

Love this implementation of mini games. The games really feel satisfying and polished (I loved the feel of the jiggle minigame). Nice graphics and mood. I'd love to see more minigames... The difficulty ramp up seemed balanced. Congratulations

Cactus Hourglass by Tom Kun 2022-10-06T03:27:53Z

Good idea, seems fun, however I had problems playing it fully. I simply cannot get through the second wave, even in the tutorial... I think you are the one playing the guitar in the background, are you? Love that (I did something similar in my game). I feel the screenshake is a bit too much, although the shooting feels juicy. I do believe some balance is necessary as well as smoothing the difficulty curve and transitions. Nice job!

It All Comes Crashing Down by Quinn_Patrick 2022-10-04T23:46:24Z

Hi, I enjoyed playing your compo game - nice idea for a stacker with 10 second hazards. I wish it was shorter than 6mins and the sounds are a bit jarring and too loud. Also I wish I could use the DOWN key to speed up the piece fall, like Tetris. Simple but nice art, good execution. I hate the raining snakes! I was at 45 meters and a green snake caused my tower to fall horribly, I couldn't recover and ended at 25 meters. Good job!

Radar Rider by 3LSTMsInATrenchcoat 2022-10-08T02:09:30Z

Really enjoyed this game. Tension and mood are fantastic. Hated the squid! Finally made it alive:image_2022-10-07_210913043.png. Fantastic little game, congratulations on submitting this one!

Limited Window by Justin Klinchuch 2022-10-05T00:03:07Z

Hi! I'll be honest, at the start I thought it was a very easy game, but after playing it I had fun! Very simple graphics and kinda repetitive sounds, but in the end it all adds up to a fun game. I kept trying and trying to pass level 4 (I think) but couldn't. Maybe I misunderstood the game mechanic, I thought when you pressed the button the gate immediately opened (at least it was that way on the previous levels, but the gate would not open until I came all the way back down and then up again, leaving me with very limited time. I think if you developed it further (even keeping the art style) it would be an amazing game to play - even on mobile. Good job!

Gemstones by Spike Studio 2022-10-06T19:34:28Z

Really nice game, super polished, nice mechanics, nice graphics. I just feel the theme was really forced in and that is being reflected a little bit in my grades, but otherwise super cool game. Love games with tutorials, although I felt the explanations were not as clear (I spent some time until I got the hang of it). Make a mobile version and I'll play it!

The book of time magic by Senso 2022-10-04T14:57:01Z

Hi, I think this a great concept for a full game. I enjoyed it. My main concern is that instructions were not clear. I was about to submit my rating when I read in other comments that you could **merge numbers**! So once I read this, I played again and I obviously found it much more enjoyable. You should really work on this - you don't even need to modify the game, you can just update this page (like, right now!) and it will greatly help you with ratings.

Two issues I found: 1) I somehow managed to drag a tile out of the playing area, this should not be allowed; image_2022-10-04_095629541.png

2) I managed to get a 3 on a tile somehow - this should not be allowed, right, being powers of two? Sorry I don't have a screenshot for that one!

Also, let us skip the intro/voiceover. I found it a bit annoying that you couldn't skip it, and the sound had way too much reverb effect, I couldn't understand some of the words.

Best!

minigames! by thyoi 2022-10-06T03:14:30Z

I think many of us thought about (or read about) a minigame idea for this jam. However I think you've nailed the art and execution. I loved the game and the way all minigames have something special. Despite being simple, I think this is one of the games I've enjoyed the most so far. I was a bit surprised that you can't really lose, but at the same time it feels more relaxing. Great work, kudos!

To Catch a Wizard by badcop 2022-10-08T01:58:27Z

Nice game, really good level design, good ideas. I felt the movement was a little clunky sometimes and the hitboxes are very unforgiving (both the green fireballs and the corners of the walls). I know you wanted to create a very hard game, but it feels unfair sometimes. Otherwise great game. I could not beat the second phase, rage-quit. :D GJ!

Headcount by Bogden 2022-10-06T22:23:52Z

Super good game, I had a margin of error of 80ms and made 14 hits. I really liked this game, the idea is so simple but it's well executed and does much more than other more complex games with extra stuff.

Swapply by chevre 2022-10-04T13:56:30Z

Really fun simple game @chevre, especially for a compo. Simple concept and mechanics, but I enjoyed it! I finished it (I wonder if you have to time both guys to stand on the tombstone at the same time - if so, I got lucky!). My only criticism would be that the collisions might be a little unforgiving on some of the corners, so when you jump/double jump and manage to hit a corner, it bumps you to the other direction, making it a bit frustrating. More levels would also be appreciated. Overall fun game, nice job and thanks again for playing mine!

BETWEENSTELLAR by Alrescha 2022-10-19T12:57:51Z

Amazing game! Loved it. I did not find it to lag as others, I used the windows version. I really enjoyed the game, the idea is simple but very well thought and executed, the humor is great. Not sure why this game doesn't have more ratings. The only two things I would change are 1) get the camera zoom a bit wider (I think it's too close to the beautiful art) - or at least let us zoom in and out, and the music does not loop. Congrats to the three of you!

Switcheroo by Prologi 2022-10-05T00:26:11Z

Loved the concept, a Vampirelike shoot em up! As discussed on the stream, I'd include an option to choose a permanent upgrade from a list of 2-3 available ones at the end of each level, to encourage replayability. Mechanic is great and the art style is not exactly my cup of tea, but I think it works. Music was a little bit repetitive. Mobile version would be awesome. Good job, especially for compo!

Cartesian Planes by Nicholas Maddalena 2022-10-06T04:11:21Z

Really nice idea. You should describe the controls in the game and in this page, I spent about 5 minutes trying to figure out how to play. Once I did (in case anyone's wondering, drag and drop the directions onto the plane you want to move) it was fun. I wanted to play more but I kept running out of directions. Good job.

Aberration by waterfowler 2022-10-04T15:11:31Z

Very creative story! I liked the game and the notifications are awesome. I wish there were more minigames to keep the game varied, and some music would have been nice as well. One little issue I found: when you get influenced, the player keeps walking in the direction it is going without user input.

Another LAST 10 seconds by Serxiolas 2022-10-08T01:25:20Z

Cool humorous game. Made me laugh. Congrats on taking such a simple and short concept into a nice little game.

10s To Decide by Rob6566 2022-10-05T01:19:04Z

The concept of this game is amazing, I really like it. It's kinda a mashup between a turn-based tower defense game and a deckbuilder, and I like that you have two resources to work with at all times. On the implementation side, I think the UI is the biggest hurdle of this game - it can get more work to make things much clearer. Also, some basic animation/effect when towers and enemies attack would add heaps towards the overall feel of the game. Surely with more time, a more complete and worked out version of this game would be amazing. Good job, keep it up!

What's Under The Teapot? by thegamearchitect 2022-10-04T14:27:51Z

Hey, good little game, I enjoyed playing it. I remembered 16 items before losing. Obviously you used the 10-second limitation, but it feels a bit slow to wait for 10 seconds and then another 10 seconds to finish - perhaps if you got immediate feedback when choosing the new object instead of having to wait another 10 seconds, it would be better. I did not see a "life" indicator (but I might had missed it). I think it's a creative take on the theme and a good submission as a concept. I noticed the time got a bit out of sync, although I couldn't pin down exactly what caused the issue (but time at the start and end should be multiples of 10, right? could it be the additional time it takes to display "Correct" message?) Also, the camera rotation is a bit slow, albeit I only needed to do it once at the beginning (I used the top-down view) and did not find use to rotate it again. A leaderboard would be amazing to encourage competition with other people. Congrats!

Bomb Buddy by Murgn 2022-10-19T16:43:14Z

Hi, this is a good concept and a good execution especially for a compo, I think you can polish it further. Also it's a nice form factor. I got a little confused about where bombs would drop when I pressed E.

LD53 — Delivery

Professor Package by Remco 2023-05-14T02:44:49Z

Very good compo entry. It's REALLY confusing at first (at least was for me), struggled with understanding I could move the thing that selects which package to move. Also confused with difference between Z and X until I remembered this was PICO-8 and thus it doesn't matter which one you use (I think). Obviously could be more polished but given that this was a Compo entry I'd say good game.

Pizza Bounce by theslate 2023-05-06T02:33:33Z

Nice idea, very simple gameplay (almost too much) but fun to play for a while. My pizza got stuck twice in the conveyor belt on the right. What are the green things?

Dante's Delivery Service by Scott Steffes 2023-05-03T21:28:39Z

Good job! I enjoyed the game. My only thing would be that the mouse look is a bit weird at times (especially when turning), I had problems fine-controlling it, especially for "speedruns". Loved the leaderboard, I'm #1 in Mexico City.

Night Rider by The1 2023-05-14T02:40:55Z

Great idea and could be a lot of fun if you fixed some stuff: 1) make it faster (or at least feel faster); 2) make very clear visual indications of where passengers are and their destination; 3) make the minimap bigger; 4) drifting would be cool. Congrats on submitting!

Nice idea. Easy to understand. Feels a bit rushed, I think if you had targeted the Jam instead of the Compo you would have had more time to polish it and make it feel much better. Good job submitting to Compo though!

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-02T20:35:30Z

Thanks for your kind comments! Enemies have a probability of idling, so if you run from them you should be able to fend them off, provided you don't traverse complicated terrains :) There's no ending, I added that to the Q&A above :) Best, manta ray

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-03T21:17:57Z

@eli-heinrichs Thank you so much for your kind comments! It's great to see you enjoyed it.

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-03T21:18:42Z

@rincs Thanks for playing it on stream! It was great. I thought about that during the development, but since I was originally going for Compo, didn't make it, and then I spent the rest of the time completing what I couldn't deliver on Sunday :D

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-05T04:22:12Z

@rocket-and-blanky thanks for your kind words. I had never implemented a hex grid before and it was fun.

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-05T04:29:32Z

@doublemintben thanks! I agree with the movement being cumbersome, I thought about adding some pathfinding - at be the cost of having to predict the enemies several steps in advance. Thanks for playing!

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-05T04:33:34Z

Thanks @team-gaivot for the praise, I really appreciate it! Your idea is amazing, interaction between monsters would be awesome, it would lead to emergent behaviors. Thanks :)

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-07T16:42:22Z

@thatsommes hey, thanks for your kind words! I probably won't but it indeed was interesting to design and develop it.

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-07T16:46:43Z

@duke-ua thanks for the praise! I found it hard to balance it, as setting the same cost would make them too easy to dodge. I ended up including a probability of idling and a probability of not attacking even if they are next to you (thess probabilities vary by monster). I guess the dessert is too hard :)

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-07T16:53:08Z

@tompudding thanks! It means a lot since I suck at art, that's why I love the compo, it forces me to try to do the art by myself. I ended up liking the look of the tiles.

I think what you mean by the "I got stuck" part is that you used the 1.00 build and you got caught in the UI bug which clicks through and, if you happened to click in the castle and the button appeared exactly above it, if you click the part of the button that is above, you'll get the click through and it will trigger the message again. To fix it you can click the part of the button that doesn't overlap the castle. I fixed that bug 8n 1.01 because apparently it happened to other people.

Thanks for playing!

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-08T00:44:21Z

Thanks for playing it @kiti-dev :) I agree, it would help with the strategy element.

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-08T18:26:00Z

@francis Thanks for your comments! Thanks for the praise regarding the framework and graphics! Especially cool since I am really bad at drawing. I agree with the gameplay aspect, I think it was too ambitious for the jam, especially since I didn't have much experience designing it. I managed to implement it, but in retrospective I think it lacks things to do. Travelling is tedious as well, as others have said, a kind of pathfinding would be much better. This much I envisioned but did not have time to implement it. The part where enemies telegraph their moves would be amazing and would have a distinct aspect in terms of strategy, great idea!

In general I'm happy I was able to pull off the programming (hex grid, turn manager, UI etc.) but I think for future turn-based strategy games I'd need to implement the other gameplay aspects to make it more fun and better to play.

Medieval Messenger by José Bonilla 2023-05-09T13:40:16Z

30 Minutes Or Your Potion's Free by Rustywolf 2023-05-13T01:21:57Z

Good game, although I found the fact that individual effects are not visible (i.e. damage ideally should show per each card visually, etc. to make it clearer) and some graphical glitches especially on the deck select screen.

ClickExpress by JunaGames 2023-05-04T22:04:34Z

Great job, good clicker game! Not my kind of genre but nicely done. Thanks for using gooey!

Delivery Champ by Brandon Campbell 2023-05-13T01:26:31Z

This is one of the best games I've played this jam. Simple, addictive, in line with the theme. Loved it. Wish it was clearer how much time left there is and/or funny (?) things happening to the ladies. Good job!

The Sand World by Debone 2023-05-04T14:58:46Z

Fantastic game, super fun. Simple rules lead to complex behaviors. Very well done. I would have rated 5/5, I just felt you didn't follow the theme. Other than that, amazing!

Starhook Express by zSharpFire 2023-05-14T02:37:24Z

Great idea, fun game. Hard one! I think the controls could be improved, as well as the visual cues.

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-06T04:15:35Z

Nice game, beautiful graphics. Really hard and unforgiving...

Deliver or Die by Pedryx 2023-05-12T03:10:05Z

Good idea, really slow-moving and definitely not theme-related.

Daring Delivery by RyanAnsberry 2023-05-09T02:59:18Z

Hi, nice little game, gets the job done. Steering is very sensitive for me. I also felt like I was going slow when at full speed - not sure if more speed is required or an effect can help perceive it. Should have included some sfx. :)

Tiny Tube Stories by Flying Butter Studio 2023-05-14T17:39:07Z

I loved the idea and feel of the game, Debussy really sets the mood. I too found the bugs limiting, fixing the bugs would have made for an awesome experience and a unique take on the game. Congrats

Bus Hostage ! by Aymco 2023-05-12T03:17:41Z

Good game, I loved how the poor pedestrians were tossed away when being crashed by a police car. I did not realize about the space key to deliver the hostages until I read the comment above.

Message Package by IGJH 2023-05-12T03:07:14Z

Really nice idea, puzzle platformer. The movement is really floaty, and at times you get stuck... Also, it re-started instead of going to level 2 the first time I played. You should polish it post-jam, it's definitely got potential.

Beautiful game, super moody and feels awesome. Loved the tutorial.

Mr.AdBar by eddynardo 2023-10-08T01:14:48Z

Super good game. I'm only not giving full marks because I had seen a similar game in a previous LD jam, but I think this is better implemented. The humor is sensational. Music would have been great!

Ishmael by dob 2023-10-07T23:03:19Z

Cool game, I liked the game. As others have said, Moby needs damage feedback.

Purple Pop by silkworm_sweatshop 2023-10-08T01:05:21Z

Cool game, super innovative and great use of theme.

Ribbon 2 by 100th_Coin 2023-10-08T18:26:14Z

Good game! Not my favorite by your standards, but that doesn't mean anything since all your games rule. I found some of the puzzles frustrating due to the fact the camera cannot be moved, I think it would have made it much less frustrating. I gave up on the last (?) section where you had to get the red ribbon spool and it's too tall. I figure you have to get to the small ledge and use the jumping part of the ribbon to propel, but just couldn't reach it. Great job overall.

Force Field Sokoban by oller125 2023-10-09T03:10:13Z

Floodwater by John Gabriel 2023-10-08T00:13:10Z

I liked this game, a simple idea but well executed. More levels would be amazing, but ok for a compo game.

If I Fits, I Sits! by cheesepencil 2023-10-08T00:33:34Z

Super simple, well executed. I liked it. I think it's too hard to get perfect, but maybe when you actually do the reward is super high. The "one more round" kind of game.

Though I Walk by AdamCYounis 2023-10-07T23:21:27Z

Really, really nice game. Beautiful graphics and super cool concept. Apart from an occasional bug where I got stuck, it's amazing. Music and more levels is the only thing it lacks.

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-03T05:03:25Z

@candlesan Thank you for your nice comments! I've modified the name in the database, so your correct name now shows up in the leaderboards :) Too bad you are #2 now, someone has already beaten you!

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-03T05:05:37Z

@ackbad thank you for playing and rating it! What was your score? You did not enter a name in the leaderboard. Let me know and I'll update it with your name!

Did you encounter the green enemies? They are substantially faster. I wish I had more time to add more enemies, I wanted to add shooter enemies to make it more bullet hellish at later stages. Maybe a post-compo feature? Regarding enemy spawn I only checked they didn't spawn too close to the player, but perhaps it would have been better to always spawn them at the border of the black hole.

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-03T14:58:46Z

@goddzeproject thanks for playing and for your kind comments! I wish I had some more time to add more upgrades and more enemies. To this end I could have taken the Jam route instead of the Compo, but my wife would have probably kicked me out of my home :)

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-03T14:59:46Z

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-09T03:25:01Z

@hakro thanks! Not sure what happened with the two songs overlapping. There is a part where I play the electric piano sound with the sustain pedal and it does sound echo-y, but not sure if that's what you heard or there is an actual bug.

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-09T03:25:59Z

@cheesepencil Thanks for playing! Ghosts spawning over you shouldn't happen, I think given that they are wider, the margin I set for preventing monsters spawning over you was not enough.

Claustroshooter by José Bonilla 2023-10-21T19:41:54Z

Thanks @zimny11! You are probably right, but I had to improvise on my Roland piano 30 min before the compo deadline and that is what I came up with :)

Beautiful story, we love you, keep it up.

Auto-Pilot by woona 2023-10-09T03:03:03Z

Nice game, good job especially for a compo submission. I think his game can be grown in many ways to be great. A tutorial would have been good, and as others have said, having the possibility to move ships would make it so much better.

Super Cube by Senso 2023-10-08T00:43:02Z

Fantastic game, wants you to play more and more. The juice when you hit the cubes is great, it reminds me of Fruit Ninja. Great balance between the cubes. HTML5 is hard to play because you can get the cursor outside of the play area and it messes up with the direction. This game on touch would be amazing. The voice-narrated combos are awesome. There's a small bug where, if you lose and there were still queued combo/kill sounds, they will keep playing on the leaderboard page. HOW ON EARTH did people reach such ridiculous scores?!?

Great job!

Bit Golf by badcop 2023-10-08T00:58:51Z

Packed to the Gills by npckc 2023-10-09T14:11:16Z

Loss Of Signal by Lee Martin 77 2023-10-09T03:44:20Z

Nice little game. The ship feels too slow for my taste. The filament looks fantastic! Good job with the different levels.

Elevators Go Boink by sudocoffee 2023-10-11T01:38:14Z

Fantastic. Really fantastic. It's so simple, yet it embodies the theme so well - the best I've seen. I'm not claustrophobic but the game REALLY starts giving you some of that feeling. Also the humorous chat messages are great. Really nice job. Obviously audio and more content would be amazing.

The twist at the end is super cool. I think I broke it since I managed to get to the left edge of the screen without falling.

Feng Shui Struggles by Nozomu57 2023-10-09T02:17:09Z

Good job, I liked the game, nice job overall. The only thing I'd change is having a different control for moving than for rotating (move with left and rotate with right).

DigHard by Tkap1 2023-10-03T05:21:33Z

Nice work, I liked the game, I think it's a simple idea but very fun to play. I did not find the void very challenging, especially from the first upgrades, and some of the orbs were confusing (I did not understand what they did, apart from a one that teleported me). Also the fact you can dig not only the block nearest to you but one ahead (i.e. two blocks down or right or up or down) makes it easier. Good job!

Really, really great concept! Very addictive. I liked it a lot. I just didn't understand it at first, but after playing for a few times I got it. Tutorial would have been nice. Also some minor bugs here and there (score=-1, you can move after finishing, instructions on menu need the I button held not pressed etc.) but obviously not breaking. Congrats

Summoners Chess by Widerhold 2024-05-01T15:04:13Z

Tutorial really needed. Good job however, especially coming up with a nice board game concept in a compo game.

Sminer by LightningST 2024-05-01T14:57:07Z

Really addictive game. Cool concept. I did not like that you have to keep down pressed a little bit before it mines, but then it repeats mining fast. However this is not really breaking. I like the aesthetic but would have preferred colored graphics. Anyway, good job

CephaloClash by tetrapteryx 2024-05-02T05:47:49Z

@rugg hey, thanks for your kudos! Nice that you managed to finish it :)

the eye by José Bonilla 2024-05-01T23:50:00Z

@mathstr0fficial thanks for your comments! I agree focusing was a bit too hard. I think some people managed to finish it given the fact the curves are random (within some parameter ranges) and some of them are slower than others (if you want to give it another try, and there's a pattern that is too hard, simply let go off the RMB and try again).

HEXX by andrewkennedy 2024-05-01T14:44:27Z

Really, really cool! I love the mechanics. Super minimalistic and yet a nice concept - makes me think about Reversi. Cozy background music and tutorial would have been nice.

Throes of the Javelin by MatterLinx 2024-04-25T04:30:15Z

Amazing, polished Jam game. Beautiful. Keep developing it into a full product.

Phasebound by Kepsert 2024-05-01T14:32:17Z

The Fifth Seal by vivid-hallucination 2024-05-01T15:24:01Z

I know the idea was to do it silently but this game needs background music. It's a very cool and immersive CYOA game concept.

DURO by Fenix131113 2024-05-01T14:10:49Z

Really nice. The ramp up for difficulty is very steep but overall really liked it. The music is fantastic. You should keep developing it.

Fireballs and other projectiles should be able to fly over gaps!

Super Pal Summoner! by Meepster 2024-04-25T03:03:02Z

A good concept and good entry for a compo game. I liked the ideas, however it's not as intuitive to me. Also I feel the mouse dragging action feels weird (like with a bit of lag) and the animations might be a bit too slow. Also no music, I think a puzzler like this one would greatly benefit from some relaxing score. All in all I think you did a nice job.

Duck Spawner by Myse 2024-04-25T03:23:04Z

Cool idea especially for saving the jam at the last few hours. I agree with comments above, a rare spawn would make it much more worth it to keep clicking.

Endless Engagement by OobOob 2024-05-01T14:50:59Z

It's a nice idea for an RTS but I did not like the overall feeling of the game, I did not understand how to correctly direct troops.

I Want Your Teeth by OddballDave 2025-10-12T22:41:49Z

Cool game but as others have said too difficult. At least let us restart at the highest level achieved - I took some 30 tries to get to level 2, then immediately died. Nice drawings and congrats for submitting.

Coin Collector by jk5000 2025-10-12T23:09:01Z

One of the most rage-inducing games I've played in a long time. Sometimes some of us try to do too much in a jam, this is a good example of how to keep it simple and yet engaging. The unique voice-overs per each coin are fantastic, congratulations.

Cut to Pieces by Sheepolution 2025-10-10T04:10:16Z

This is absolutely gorgeous and original. Amazing game. I was fired though, I couldn't get the cowboy one right. Congratulations

Overdraft Charles by Yvanor 2025-10-12T03:03:31Z

Very well well-rounded game, nice tutorial, cool mechanics, really well done.

Heart Collector by khaotom 2025-10-10T14:08:19Z

Cozy game, I found myself playing it more than I rationally would. Nice ambiance and music. Would be cool to have some achievements or different colored hearts that would encourage you to keep playing. Kudos!

STAVROS by designernap 2025-10-12T22:53:40Z

Impressive atmosphere and sound design. I couldn't finish the game but really enjoyed it. Kudos.

Fume: The PC Gaming Simulator by alaah 2025-10-11T14:23:42Z

So innovative and humoristic!!! Amazing stuff. I wasn't able to complete the collection just like in real life...

City Bike by gonutz 2025-10-12T23:24:48Z

NIce use of theme, although very simple game. My piano fingers are now well-trained for some long [trill](

Lepidopterology Extreme by mahalis 2025-10-10T14:00:44Z

Nice game, lovely animations. I don't like it when the butterflies leave, but I guess that's expected :D GJ submitting for compo

Talla and the Tomb of the Takers by ryusui 2025-10-10T03:55:52Z

I'm not going to lie, this game is a bit weird, but good job creating an atmospheric game and submitting! Font is awful, recommend changing it.

Crumbs by leparlon 2025-10-10T14:11:17Z

Hehehee. Very short game, nice humor, but above all great use of the theme. Nice little compo submission.

Trivia Hart in "The Case of the Porcelain Tricorn" by 100th_Coin 2025-10-08T03:55:30Z

Amazing game as always. The level of polish you achieve is unreal. Unfortunately for me I had a bug in the Canal street door, I could not use the keycard to open it no matter what. This was the Windows version. Huge congrats!

Grand Collector by Alex Mulkerrin 2025-10-07T03:40:11Z

Nice little game, I finished it in 3 min 24 seconds. Loved your art. It's so simple yet fun to play. Loved when you move with the ship :) Good work

Slot of Death by wolderado 2025-10-12T02:43:00Z

Good job, I really like the Death model. Nice atmosphere.

Hop, Skip, Jump by Jeremy Ryan 2025-10-08T04:03:18Z

Super amazing job, you are mental to do this in 5 hours. Kudos.

Tiles Collector by dhim 2025-10-10T04:15:11Z

Interesting puzzle game! The written explanations were too complex but the mechanic is so simple yet so engaging. Cool you managed to get sandbox mode and tutorial in for a fellow compo game. Not a fan of the UI but it's well done. Good job!

La kolektanto by island-jam-2-group-3 2025-10-12T02:50:13Z

Fun base loop, needs more development and depth, but could be expanded into a quite addictive little game. Good job submitting for Compo.

Stamp Collector by grid96 2025-10-24T01:32:50Z

Really nice idea. Super cool. My only criticism would be it's a bit cramped, maybe accessing the album via a menu and having a way to dispose and recall the postcards would be better.

Catorus by TopperVideoGames 2025-10-08T03:23:38Z

Very interesting take, nice graphics and ambiance. A bit simple. I would have made the radius of the planet bigger, also it's a tad frustrating to not be able to move back.

Trade Up! by Pincushion 2025-10-12T23:02:17Z

GJ with the game, interesting trade mechanics, and providing different difficulty levels. I would have painted the clubs and spades black to better differentiate them. Nice compo submission

Petals by AppoxGames 2025-10-07T03:34:35Z

This is a nice laid-back experience. The sound is amazing, although I got a jumpscare the first time a rock broke :D I didn't find it particularly engaging for long play, maybe it could use a little bit more variety in the color palette - although it is atmospheric. Good job.

Greedy Collector by José Bonilla 2025-10-07T01:02:46Z

Thanks @soloadventurergames, it was set to restricted, I have fixed it.

Greedy Collector by José Bonilla 2025-10-07T02:49:02Z

@vikfx thanks for playing and for your nice comments. May I ask what is the bug about? I have not encountered that one.

Greedy Collector by José Bonilla 2025-10-08T03:20:48Z

Thanks for your very kind comments @mdotedot @threeli @alex-mulkerrin @gamebuilder.

Hope you guys try to get all achievements!

Thanks @torte478 @avhatar @nekowei @ryusui @neowhoru @eugenik @mahalis @patatje @d-demetori @jimbly for your nice comments :) Good score @jimbly - sorry you had to die that way, same bug as @ryusui.

Greedy Collector by José Bonilla 2025-10-13T19:40:28Z

Thanks @atsh, yep, I used beep box and basically speedran it in the last minutes hehe

You CAN dash through the mines :)

Thanks for playing

Greedy Collector by José Bonilla 2025-10-23T16:21:48Z

Thanks for your kind words!

Grave Situation by BangKerpow 2025-10-10T04:19:02Z

Nice fusion between TD and shooter! I think it's well balanced and the idea of collecting powers out of the enemies to upgrade the towers is cool. Kudos.

Taxbear of Haybrunn by spacecadet 2025-10-11T14:26:49Z

Nice little game, love the bear! I agree with the comment that states more depth would be great, but being a fellow compo game maker I know how hard that is! Good job

Predincament by Threeli 2025-10-07T03:30:25Z

A nice, relaxing mini game with lovely pixel art and vibe. Kudos.

OMG. Beautiful little game. Kudos. I had a very long day at the office and your game just got me a good laugh and enjoyable time. Really innovative idea. Congrats!

I don't care who the IRS sends by BlueDandelion 2025-10-12T02:57:28Z

Amazing incremental + TD mashup. Love the collectible item variety. Could be further expanded into a full release. Good job!!

Tax Collector by ellaris 2025-10-10T14:53:11Z

Nice game!!! Loved the idea and creative use of theme. Good compo submission!

Out Of Energy by Custodi 2025-10-08T03:38:08Z

Nice little game, congrats on submitting!

Marbles' Counter by Infernaton 2025-10-11T14:37:41Z

This is the kind of quick game that has a very simple premise, but with more polish and variation you can even have a game you can distribute and sell for mobile. Good job submitting for the compo, try adding just a tiny more (a simple music and some particle effects) and perhaps a high score.

Death or Taxes by atsh 2025-10-12T23:20:12Z

Nice game, managed to get 2,861 coins. I wanted to calculate the different variations between market trade tax, income tax, market imports etc. but I ended up just increasing market import tax and a couple of market trade. I was able to camp the villagers at the market so it wasn't too complicated to get the 2,500, although I did find it to be well balanced. Kudos for submitting a well-rounded entry to Compo.

Curious if the king was you and you were originally overscoping? :D

Claw & Collect by d-demetori 2025-10-10T14:18:07Z

Nice game idea and good execution, loved the graphics and the powerups. Loved the collected balls bouncing around. Cozy. Definitely fairer than real claw machines :D Good job especially for a compo!

Snake Tale by Akuta Zehy 2025-10-11T14:48:34Z

Nice classic game with a twist. GJ submitting for compo.
