You art is masterpiece, very good job. Mood of the game is very good and it is fitting. Thememaster, thats you are, fit into the theme. Really ?! That game is really fun, good job. Overall your game is good, good job.

My computer's GPU is some hot garbage, and I couldn't get a stable framerate. I imagine Clayxels doesn't run smoothly for me. Due to the poor framerate, I'm unable to get far in the game, as the enemies move pretty fast, and I can't keep up.

I like the character design! The cactus hat is fun. The guitar in the soundtrack is really cool, though the other sound effects are a loud and painful.

Cool game! Nice work.

**Edit**: By the way, you should remove Clayxels from your provided source code, as distribution is disallowed per the Standard Unity Asset Store EULA ยง3.5, and you are currently illegally distributing it.

@100th-coin Thx for the reminder! I am going to remove it! The optimization would be improved in the future! Using Clayxel is something new for me so there is a lot to learn. Thank you for your feedbacks!

@hadik Thank you for your encouragement! Theme matching and gameplay were my main focus

Interesting that sound queues are used to give the player hints. Game did have some performance issues for me, but was still fun to mess around with. Nice job!

Clock was a very interesting design decision. I really enjoyed the game!

Good idea, seems fun, however I had problems playing it fully. I simply cannot get through the second wave, even in the tutorial... I think you are the one playing the guitar in the background, are you? Love that (I did something similar in my game). I feel the screenshake is a bit too much, although the shooting feels juicy. I do believe some balance is necessary as well as smoothing the difficulty curve and transitions. Nice job!

broodjethomaat 2022-10-13 13:01

Fun idea, love the use of sound! I would limit the screenshake, and work on building difficulty up gradually, very nice entry!

:D Very fun! I tried the tutorial first, and I kept losing, so I thought I was terrible. But then the actual game wasn't so bad! The framerate is terrible, but it's still pretty fun to play! The frequent upgrades are very satisfying. Nice graphics, great sounds! Thanks for this fun game!

The art style is really great. Having a game end screen would be pretty helpful, the first couple times I lost it felt like the game restarted unitl I noticed the text in the top right corner.

toppervideogames 2022-10-16 09:44

It is a pretty looking game when it runs well. I kept dying way too often, which made me too frustrated to even reach a single upgrade. I'm surprised that the player's bullets are so short ranged. Being able to predict where enemies would come from would synergize well with shooting far, but enemies got way too close in order to shoot them well. The sounds are distinct enough. The second shot was unpredictable in whether it would hit, so I could not use it well to hit the groups of three. Nice work!

Seems nice and I liked the chill music! I couldn't play much 'cause it keeps filling up my ram and crashing. Probably some memory allocation issue. Screenshot_2.png Also frame-rate is pretty bad... I have the feeling that it's not using my gpu at all.

tom-kun 2022-10-17 03:08

@shaunshepherd Yep! Didn't have time to make the game end screen. Good suggestion tho

tom-kun 2022-10-17 03:15

@spike-studio @lustdante Thx! @jose-bonilla @broodjethomaat @toppervideogames Good suggestions on balancing and the mechanics! Thx! @ironcutter @ukulelefury Thanks for playing! Fixing framerate and optimization are in high priority

This was really really fun! I really liked the 3D models, especially our main character with his cactus hat! Did you make all the music yourself on guitar? We did the same thing for our entry and I really like your BGM. I really loved that there were upgrades after each round although I felt the upgrades felt like they could have been better, because some of them seem like they would help but they aren't all that useful. Nevertheless, great entry!

tom-kun 2022-10-18 21:26

@jag Thanks for playing! Yep, I made the music with my guitar  ! Thank you for your suggestions on the upgrades. I will focus on a fast/easy but effective progression system for the next Ludum Dare
