LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Loop Arena by Chaseplays 2022-10-05T10:32:11Z

Very simple but interesting concept. It reminds me Vampire Survivor but "with a twist" (no range attack). Could you add some controls with the arrows ? Then I can play on my french keyboard more easily :-) Also it could be cool to have some powerups and player's level up mechanics for instance. Thanks and keep going on it !

The Game Ends by smilewood 2022-10-14T10:33:20Z

Ah ah funny how you are clicking on that thing with no graphics nor story. Good answer to the theme.

Rain Systems by thebmxeur 2022-10-14T06:46:17Z

I really love the terminal style too. Trying to play your game brought me new ideas in mind! I think you can do something really nice with that. You just need more time and reflexion about how to keep the player engaged and how to explain the game. Keep going.

Sheeple by Jonathan Holm 2022-10-04T11:55:25Z

Really good! I'm a big fan of pico8 too. I also used it for the Ludum :-) The style and mood are great. I'm sure you can find a way to match the theme ;-) I would have loved rating you 6 stars. Keep up!

They hate each other ! by Kaimon 2022-10-14T06:44:51Z

Very fun and interesting. I like the fact you use cat and dogs for the 10 seconds theme, it's original. Keep going! And yes a little twist where you can finally know why they are hating each other would be nice ^^

Roboten by JakNak72 2022-10-03T11:15:33Z

Thank you for that game, funny fact it's quite similar to mine! I like that you've added some narrative with the robots talking, it keeps the player engaged. You could rework the camera so that it does not show the limits of the levels.

One Minute Away by Srynetix 2022-10-16T07:22:19Z

Really nice game and explanation about your design process. I also like brainstorming a lot about a theme :-) Regarding me, I even started another game before switching to the one I've actually published! I spend more than a day on it ah ah. Anyway congratulations to you for that piece! Keep up the good work.

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-03T11:20:36Z

Hi, I'm sorry I really wished to play your game but I cannot figure out how to place time? They do not appear in the UI. I click on the piano but nothing happens. What did I miss? Thanks!

Ev'ry's 10 Second Adventure! by José Bonilla 2022-10-04T06:32:03Z

@jose-bonilla thank you for the help! It did work with the mouse :-) - I think you could improve that a bit by drawing the picture with some transparency (or greyscale) when it's not validated, then with no transparency once you've added it (mouse click). - It could be also nice to trigger the commands by pressing "spacebar" (play/pause behavior). - When you "stop", you could draw on the piano the last avatar's position reached to help the player building the sequence. - You could maybe redesign the level a bit so it's mandatory to get all the gems to have the end flag ("goal"). Like in a golf game. I'm thinking of that old super nintendo amazing game : "Kirby's Dream Course" :-) - I think the first level is a bit too hard (the last jump it's too high). You could let the player some space for finding its own way to the goal. - Also the same concept could be more "puzzly" with a top down camera and no gravity

Anyway you've a done a great job with that game. There's a lot of potential in level and game design! Keep up and Congrats.

Launch Wobbles by VictorRypl 2022-10-03T11:25:09Z

Really cool, it's a good way to make a 10 seconds game! Maybe it good be better if we are not oblige to go back to the main menu each time. Maybe you could some different cinematics between each "fails" so that the player it's still a bit rewarded and wants to go on. Also, maybe add kind of an exterior view on the rocket when you change things. But of course that needs more time :-)

Swapply by chevre 2022-10-03T11:11:13Z

Thank you for your feedback! Of course the level design and the metrics of the physics should be tweaked a bit ^^' The double jump helps though. I think it's part of the fun to sometimes wait for the other character ;-) Anyway I'll try to improve this on my spare time.

Swapply by chevre 2022-10-04T06:21:03Z

Thanks! Still going on providing some update for the future of this. @glove: "the game lost me to a degree when I would have to wait 10 seconds every now and then" > I agree I think there's something to do about that in the game/level design :-) Cheers!

Thank you again for your feedbacks! I really appreciate that. @hellsquirrel @thebmxeur : I'm indeed try to continue that thing on my time. I have actually fixed several bugs, tweak a bit the controller and the level design. I'm also building a new level :-) Hopefully I will be able to finish that soon... Cheers guyz and good luck to you too!

Swapply by chevre 2022-10-29T07:13:19Z

Hi people! I've uploaded a new version of the game with 4 levels and a special ending... It's playable on PICO8 : https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?pid=119811#p and ITCH : https://chevre.itch.io/swapply If you feel bored and want to play in the metro? Cheers

Machine! by KITmani 2022-10-05T10:29:11Z

Hi, the game looks pretty interesting but I have trouble figuring out how the I/O works. If I drag a red cube onto the green area and press the "<" button on the machine it does not work. You have a small issue with player affordance here. It's also confusing to drag a red thing onto a green one. But the concept seems really interesting.

Tower Boy by Chuckiee 2022-10-05T10:36:33Z

Nice concept! Switching between the phases every 10s is pretty fun. You could you add a "pause button" though... And maybe it would be better to move the character using "click" with the mouse during the positionning phase. Also, find a way to explain why the character cannot move while shooting. Maybe the player turns into a tower or something? Anyway, good job, keep up!
