Nice graphics on the little two robot blobs, how I really liked how clear each of them was as a character. Has a bit of a frustrating aspect where if you mess up a jump you usually don't have enough time to go back and recover so you end up needing to wait a full 10-20 seconds to get back to the robot you actually want to be using.

Thank you for that game, funny fact it's quite similar to mine! I like that you've added some narrative with the robots talking, it keeps the player engaged. You could rework the camera so that it does not show the limits of the levels.

You got some interesting setups! Some thoughts: * I think the lava mechanic isn't a really good fit for this game. It frustrating when you die because you have to wait for the 10 sec timer to end. Also it punished the player to late for their mistakes * The camera should show more of the scene, because otherwise you have to wait 10 sec just because you didn't see what comes next * The idea that the blue character can jump higher is pretty cool! But I therefore also had trouble getting a feel of how high the characters can jump to align them correctly. * The controls felt a little bit too slippery for me, but maybe thats just a matter of taste Overall still a good entry, these were just some points I noticed
Great idea. It's an excellent fit for the theme. It's a really frustrating game having to wait for those timers when you mess up, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think a traditional countdown timer would have been better than a wall of death as you could catch up lost time later in the level. All round though I enjoyed it a lot.
Good stuff :8ball:

Yeah, after retrying many times at the last level, I won! Really clever puzzles and level design, with nice control too! Well done!
Cool game after all. I enjoyed playing it! 🤗

I liked the concept, it would be nice to be able to skip to the next character anytime because one mistake will be fatal when the lava is too close. :volcano: I loved the small dialogue lines on idle robots!

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
@oadt @oddballdave yeah the lava is probably a bit to punishing. The game was a lot easier in the beginning so it made more sense back then.
@yword congrats on making it to the end!! :trophy:

Nice game, only problem I found was that adjusting volume didn't adjust the sfx volume

@murgn that's strange. You mean the jumping sound? Was that in the WebGL or the Windows version?
Good game! I like the challenges it gave me. I like the artwork, sound and the riddles!
I like the take on the theme. Controls, arts and animations are good. Music is nice. Sounds are a bit too minimalists but are ok :) I think it would have been more fun without the lava. Also maybe I am too dumb, I couldn't get pass the 2nd level >D Felt a bit too hard for me ^^' Other than that I think it is great. I hope you will take time to make a full game out of it :) Good job!
Reminded me of that Fireboy and Watergirl flash game. Good job!
Really neat take on the theme. only constructive feedback that I have is that maybe a button to force the change would make the gameplay flow a bit smoother since now you have to sit around for 20 seconds if you understand a puzzle 1 second too late.
The concept was really really cool, really unique and it led to fun puzzling, which I felt the level design supported really well! Sadly, as with others, I felt the lava hurt this. With the really tall levels, falling and having to re-do sections seemed like enough motivation to not fall. Or maybe checkpoints would've made the lava feel less punishing. But very tall levels made the lava feel pretty frustrating. I found the little things the boxes said pretty funny! I liked the faces as well! Good job overall.
Quite a bit of fun, and nice-looking too, with good music 😊 The jump sound clashed a bit with the music IMO. Great job giving personality to two simple boxes. I hadn't seen the lava yet when they first commented on it so I was confused, and once the lava appeared, scared 👀 Game plays well and is easy to understand. Jumping feels good and I appreciate how slow the lava is to give you time to make mistakes (and I kept making them!) and figure things out without having to restart the whole thing—even then I fell into it many times, so any faster would've been very difficult. My only real annoyance is having to wait the whole ten seconds every time because I often made a mistake and had to do nothing for one turn while I waited to get back to the other character to adjust it, so the first one finally could move on, now two turns later; I think it would've still been fair use of the theme (always auto swap every 10 seconds no matter what, but able to do it manually earlier). Well done!

Definitely a bit difficult with the lava coming while trying to map out a level and figure out exactly how high you can jump / where you need to get frozen. This combined with having to wait 10-20 seconds when you mess up caused a tiny bit of frustration, but with a more gradual difficulty ramp-up I think that eventual level of difficulty is fine. I agree a button to force the change would make gameplay smoother, and if it also moved the lava up commensurately (i.e. the button just speeds up time), it would keep that same difficulty -- I think that would make for a good speedrunning game. Great job with the mood and giving the boxes personalities.
Fantastic little game, it's wild that this was a Compo game. Extremely polished and plays in a really fun way. The gameplay is incredibly intuitive and the puzzles that result from these simple mechanics are fun. Agreed that controls are a little bit slippery for my taste, though I suppose it's part of the challenge. I like the little lines the robos say sometimes, it's amazing you found the time for that. Unfortunately, despite MANY attempts, I can't beat level three. I get pretty far in the level but the wall of death catches up to me whenever I need to slow down to work out the next section, and it gets too frustrating to retry the whole level from scratch. The limited visibility is a problem too, it's annoying to have to restart simply because you couldn't see crucial parts of the puzzle until you moved far enough in the wrong direction. Still, I enjoyed it, thanks!
