Nice, fun little game. I love the juxtaposition of the two sci-fi minigames with alien tech alongside "unclog the toilet". Making a few (or a lot) more asteroids and making them go faster would make it feel more intense and less repetitive I think.
Cool! I also found the cheese on the penultimate level, and I'm going to have to come back later to try to finish the last one (so take this comment with a grain of salt), but I think the difficulty level is spot-on for a game this size. The puzzles seem to have a good balance of requiring planning and execution (i.e. thinking about the level before you start doing things, and actually pulling off what you thought about). They may be a little on the 'too easy' side on their own, but to me this feels like the intro levels to a game where the puzzles would get really hard, really quickly.
Definitely a bit difficult with the lava coming while trying to map out a level and figure out exactly how high you can jump / where you need to get frozen. This combined with having to wait 10-20 seconds when you mess up caused a tiny bit of frustration, but with a more gradual difficulty ramp-up I think that eventual level of difficulty is fine. I agree a button to force the change would make gameplay smoother, and if it also moved the lava up commensurately (i.e. the button just speeds up time), it would keep that same difficulty -- I think that would make for a good speedrunning game. Great job with the mood and giving the boxes personalities.
I also didn't notice the feedback while playing. After reading your comment about what the actual criteria and feedback are, I tried to do the objective, but I stopped caring because it was too hard and because flinging them around aimlessly was more fun 😆. It's awesome as a sort of 'Salad Fingers'-esque 'Interactive Buddy' -- more ways of disposing of or testing the produce would be fun.
Great game -- in a lot of cases the puzzles seemed like they should be simple but turned out pretty hard, which makes for a very compelling puzzle. The undo button definitely helped with preventing the frustration that can come with these types of puzzle games where you can ruin the puzzle if you make the wrong move.
My first playthrough, it took me a little bit to pick up some of the mechanics (e.g. the direction the crystals move in -- I didn't notice this until there were multiple -- maybe the tip should also be a different hue rather than just brighter?), including some of the ones relating to how the crystals interact, but it was fun to figure those interactions out.
2-5 gave me a bit of trouble, but level 2-6 seems literally impossible to me (if you move one enough to be able to move any others towards the targets, you can't move that one down again -- I'd be glad to be corrected though). Still wanting to play the rest of the levels, I went to the source, changed the player&target on 2-6 to just a player (moving the line of lasers towards the player should also make it possible, I think) and played through the game again, and I'm glad I did.
It felt great being able to use the more 'advanced' tactics to do those first ones again more optimally. Maybe a star/rating system based on how many moves you used would be interesting in a full version? 2-5 still gave me some trouble the second time because I sort of stumbled onto the solution the previous time. Even after finishing the last few puzzles, 2-5 seems like it was the hardest. The undo button made the other laser puzzles not as hard, but it would have been too hard without an undo button.
Fun game and it's super interesting to play around with the sandbox. For others: you can Ctrl+Click on the sliders in the sandbox to set the values to whatever you want -- setting some of them to very high or to negative values can give some interesting results:
Great game! I think allowing anagrams would make a good 'easy' mode, but I like the idea of having to guess the correct word (like it is now) for a 'hard' mode. To make it more 'fair', you could give some wordle/mastermind style feedback on an incorrect guess. Obviously none of the guessed letters won't be in the word, so maybe something like a heatmap based on how far away it is from the desired position would be better (e.g. green = correct, yellow = 1 off, grey = 2+ off). And maybe the timer could paused for some amount of time for each letter you got right.
