Great work, the game felt like a good difficulty. Hard, but never impossible. The solution to the last level is very funny!

catasha27 2023-10-02 00:36

Thought it would be much easier, but was just difficult enough!! Great job

yheeky 2023-10-02 08:11

Fantastic idea and implementation! Easy to understand. Well done!

prologi 2023-10-02 08:38

The style and music are very pleasing. I have mixed thoughts on dragging the mechanic, it's complicated and a little jittering, but I guess that was the whole point and you did a great job making it feel like real furniture. Very good game, I wish there were more levels

lelulagames 2023-10-02 09:15

OMG the idea of trying to get that green corner couch through that tiny hallway was enough. Nope nope nope. But for real, as frustrating as dragging some of the furniture around, and trying to squeeze past each other and twist and turn it is... It was also kind of fun and relaxing. The music was a bit repetitive after a bit, but also nice.

oadt 2023-10-02 09:21

What a cute idea and great execution! I liked that you really go through the hound and that the rooms are not just separated levels. Controls are a bit fiddly but this also makes them fun  Liked the solution with the window at the last section. Also very cool music and graphics style!

mdotedot 2023-10-02 09:50

This was promissing but I had a hard time with rotating and moving stuff. Music was a bit up beat for the semmingly relaxing vibe that I thought a Feng Shui game had. But job well done!

2023-10-02 10:10

Great job: clear objectives, very topical, challenging, yet engaging.

My small concern is that levels 1 and 4 are much more challenging than the rest. And level 5 is a masterpiece ;)

jk5000 2023-10-02 17:03

A super relaxing and fun little game. I overall liked the visuals and the music is pretty good. This is overal a friendly and relaxing little jam game. Wel done.

bumble 2023-10-02 19:18

I think I just went through all stages of grief ... up until the final chapter! The twist caught me off guard!

Really well executed idea and very fitting to the theme :)

vollfeiw 2023-10-02 19:38

Very challenging, i still can't get the control right even after finishing the game. Last level is good, probably not how I will move my stuff around tho

doot 2023-10-02 19:55

I loved it 💌

The mood is set up just right by the cute little music, nice puzzle mechanic. The particles and moving sounds are a nice touch too. The mechanic is simple but the level design is smart and the game is just the right size.

Great job and thanks, i had a nice time!

crygos 2023-10-02 20:36

Great game. It took some time, but finally everything was in the right place. Maybe need some new windows though :D

npckc 2023-10-03 01:26

love the take on the theme and the mouse controls make the furniture moving interesting! very satisfying when you squeeze a furniture just past another.

dob 2023-10-03 02:57

Great concept, great execution, very funny (especially the last level). I very much enjoyed this. Mouse controls aren't always completely intuitive, but they got the job done - you could always get where you wanted somehow. Nice work!

koboldskeep 2023-10-03 03:30

Mmm, this is fantastic! I can't think of anything to improve it, you've got a really solid one here.

osh-studio 2023-10-03 11:46

sooo satisfying, and also slightly triggering of how tight moving furniture can be! I would play 20 more levels of this, loved the last level. Great submission!

hastesword 2023-10-03 12:24

genuinely wonderful and self contained game. that last room was such a good cap on it!

n-feofentov 2023-10-03 13:19

Good puzzle with great ending! Somehow first room was harder than others for me but still love it from start to finish.

chybby 2023-10-03 14:19

Loved the piano level :) The dragging was a little janky sometimes.

kiberptah 2023-10-03 17:09

What I liked:

- Take on the theme and overall idea - Good difficulty, but no too frustrating - How you can move the piano through the window ;) - Music, reminds me of some of Night in the Woods OST :) - Intuitive controls

What I didn’t like:

- Your taste in furniture arrangement - Sometimes it feels like furniture gets stuck a bit even in empty space

What I’d suggest:

- More sound, special for each furniture :)

chailotl 2023-10-03 17:15

This was awesome! :o I had a lot of fun rearranging the furniture around, and the piano level had me bursting in laughter x3 It's not only a great use of the theme, but also something a lot of people can relate to I'm sure. Great job!

nozomu57 2023-10-03 17:26

Thank you all guys for your comments - especially @kiberptah :) Speaking about my taste in arrangement: I did my best to *really* follow Feng Shui only in the first room, with energy flow, not sitting at the table with your back to the door and stuff like that. Starting from level 2 I just gave up and simply made some puzzles :D

@chailotl thank you thank you! you are the first one to mention "relatable", and that was actually part of design decision (more on that below)

@chybby @dob @vollfeiw @mdotedot @lelulagames @prologi and others who wrote about strange physics: maybe now I would've done things differently, but at the time of creating this game I wanted to convey the feeling from real world furniture rearrangement, wanted it to be in a way the same level of difficulty and despair - hence the word "Struggle" in the name. Maybe jam is not the best place to portray my feelings and experience, but maybe at least that would clarify why I made furniture move with such friction.

Will probably update physics after the voting ends :)

woona 2023-10-03 18:13

Very nice game, balancing right between frustrating and satisfying. I really liked the production quality, graphics and music. Feels polished and well-made.

While playing, I could imagine the pain of the people squeezing into tight corners to push that giant wardrobe. 😁

Great job making this game!

recursor 2023-10-03 19:02

What a fiddly little game that got me fiddling with bits of furniture to get them just so. Apparently, I enjoy fiddling because this was quite fun. I finished it and particularly loved that last room . Great stuff

edearth 2023-10-03 19:15

I've got flashbacks from when I had to move my wardrobe hahaha. I was afraid of breaking anything and then the game forced/allowed me to do it

I agree with everyone saying the difficulty progression feels great. At the beginning of the 4th level I almost screamed, but I managed to finish everything

nozomu57 2023-10-03 19:19

@edearth thank you! Funny story: this 4th level is actually based on my real life event! Had to move ALL furniture between two rooms in a small apartment 3 years ago. Including the super-bulky wadrobe.

Now the world can finally feel my pain :D

davidtrac 2023-10-04 01:06

i was addicted to this one, each area had a preview of the next and made me want to move the furniture even faster

janet-lin 2023-10-04 05:10

I was half frustrated and half addicted - meaning that as an absolute compliment! Getting all the flashbacks to rearranging my furniture while moving... Love that the difficulty made things fun, but never deterring.

decentsauce 2023-10-04 10:08

Nice game! I think you managed to make a really good vibe with the music and the nice and clean graphics. I only wish the dragging was a little bit more fun because now it feels too tedious. This was especially when I was almost done with lvl 4 but the bookcase got stuck in another furniture and I had to restart because there was no way to get them unstuck. But other than that well done on this compo entry! :)

haydads 2023-10-04 10:51

Haha that is great! I am not very good at it. Was trying to see if you put an easter egg in and I could throw the TV out the window! I liked the friction from each item as it was dragged about the place. Nice submission!

nozomu57 2023-10-04 10:55

@haydads thanks! Funny that you mentioned it, because if you've played through the end, you'd see the grand finale this game deserved :D I've recorded a walkthrough though, you can just watch it: https://youtube.com/watch?v=VGkPWgCtfRI

haydads 2023-10-04 11:00

@nozomu57 haha I just went back and finished that bit. I still had it open in a seperate tab! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

tommo120 2023-10-04 11:05

This is fantastic, loved every second of this! I would absolutely love to see a full game come out of this! I would definitely pay for a longer version.

I appreciate how intuitive the controls are once you get used to them. Really amazing work :)

"How the hell am I going to get that piano over there?! Unless I can... OH!" 🤣

sleepyufo 2023-10-04 12:33

Super fun, works with the theme! Feng Shui is so relatable! Would be really cool to have some sort of small pop-up explanation of some of the Feng Shui decisions.

Audio could have a bit more variety! Would have loved for the background music to be a bit longer too but otherwise it evokes the right mood, and loops seamlessly.

The added humor of the piano was fantastic!

nozomu57 2023-10-04 13:34

@sleepyufo thanks, much appreciated! I thought about pop-ups with Feng shui explanations, but to tell the truth I followed rules only in the first room, and a bit in the second. After that it was more of a meme (4th level became objectively worse, for example). Maybe something to consider for a post-jam update :)

okshirl 2023-10-05 03:35

my asian mom would rate this game 10/10. Other than the controls being a little janky I loved the last level, the things we would do to make sure the "money direction" wasn't blocked sometimes haha. I do feel like that level could come before the 4th one though, because it was way easier. I think the gameplay could be elevated if you gave rules about fengshui rather than showing the solution right away, like you could say, the bed has to be in the corner, the desk can't be next to the window and things like that. I think it would make the player think more about it as a puzzle rather than a long chore of moving the furniture around. (although it was really relatable to what happens irl, PIVOT!!)

kultuk 2023-10-05 08:15

Gotta love the last level. Great game. I really like the background sound.

Like Unpacking, just with emotional trauma. Or just more emotional trauma.

levi 2023-10-05 09:16

Thank you for the music, without it I would have stressed the freak out. It calmed my twitching, angry fingers. And the ending had me going back and double checking that you hadn't tricked me from the beginning. Nice work.

najjaman 2023-10-06 00:10

I'm having a hard time with the controls :grimacing: Good take on the theme though

animatrix1490 2023-10-06 04:30

I felt the armoire/big dresser things in my BONES

stmate03 2023-10-06 12:02

The mood is perfect, the design is perfect, it's just perfectly frustrating, the last level is where the humor peaked and my previous disappointment just faded (I really wanted to break the windows yes), overall a perfect game I really liked it, awesome job congrats!

linus-lindberg 2023-10-06 18:48

Fun and funny. Very unique idea. Great take on the theme

burchyn 2023-10-07 22:56

What a relatable game! Familiar feeling of frustration and accomplishment at the same time

Loved the final puzzle a lot. I kept repeating to myself ' there is no way! Wait? Really??! ' haha well done!

primed-pixel 2023-10-08 12:22

Honestly, you described it perfectly: let the misery begin (I mean that in a good way). Really fun stuff, and just annoying enough to where I loved it, especially the final puzzle -- if only it were that easy :')

hakro 2023-10-08 18:15

Very nice ! I enjoyed it a lot. The idea is simple but great. Moving the furniture feels very nice an intuitive, even if, sometimes, it's a bit rigid. The mood is cozy and nice. Great little entry overall. GG.

jose-bonilla 2023-10-09 02:17

Good job, I liked the game, nice job overall. The only thing I'd change is having a different control for moving than for rotating (move with left and rotate with right).

kokil 2023-10-09 05:10

Excellent game, use mouse to move objects within the rooms is a challenging but enjoyable process. The game's music and artwork are also quite impressive.

ayxs 2023-10-09 15:47

I like it! Really well made! As others have said, the movement is a bit weird at times, but I think it really adds to the idea since moving furniture around is never really an easy job. I really enjoyed the final level. But I think the 3rd one (the one with just the bookcase) is a bit weird. Maybe if that was the first level it would have been okay, but as third level it's kinda out of place.

I think the fourth room was better the way it was. How are you ever supposed to use that chair in the new location?

nozomu57 2023-10-09 16:02

@ayxs thanks! Yep, chunky movement was part of the whole idea. If it was a good idea for a jam game is completely another story...

About 3rd level: it was supposed to be a small joke  that sometimes it's not about rearranging lots of furniture, but just trying to find a perfect spot for one shelf.

And about 4th level: it was actually a part of a bigger meta-joke about "Feng Shui struggles": only first level is really about Feng shui, and with each next level we are further and further from it, with 4th being actually a complete reversal, going from a nice layout to... this abomination

nevernox 2023-10-09 22:31

A great take on the theme! The game is really cute and chilling - I wish in real life this process was like that as well xD I also laughed at the option to break the windows :D

Graphics, audio, gameplay - all on a such polished level, I think you might just add more levels (and maybe some additional mechanics) and go for full release :)) Great job, even more so for a compo entry!

lincolnsalles 2023-10-17 21:25

Very interesting idea. On my monitor it appears that the room is further to the right as shown in the photo, making it impossible for me to see the other room. help.jpg

nozomu57 2023-10-17 22:05

@lincolnsalles no-no, the room you need to rearrange is always in the center, and it’s also the case for your screenshot! The one on the right is just a preview of the next level, there is no need to see it fully until you’ll actually play that level :D

aurailus 2023-10-19 16:08

I love this game! It's such janky fun, the music is boppin, the art is really clean and calming, and the whole atmosphere is perfect. I think that you executed this game perfectly. Short, sweet, and satisfying. I laughed out loud at the solution to the last level :) High scores from me all around. Fantastic job!

sinclairstrange 2023-10-19 19:35

Wow I really enjoyed this one! It's really cool and I can also feel your pain having to move things around in a tiny apartment/house, I'm exactly the same! It took me a while to understand to rotate the pieces efficiently but once I got that down it was really fun trying to figure what pieces should be moved first and where. Granted to say, don't hire me as a removal or furniture placement guy because I'm not very good haha.

The graphics were top notch, simple yet effective and the music also brings the mood together! One of my favourite games I've played thus far for sure! <3

caeonosphere 2023-10-23 04:06

Fun! That L-shaped couch was a nightmare... enjoyed the simplicity of the last level, too. Well done!
