LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Abyssonaut by thomas-olsson 2021-04-28T01:57:31Z

Y'all have a winner here. Killing an enemy with your anchor is priceless! Putting down explosive barrels on the ship seems to be a little finnicky...

Coffin Drop by cdunham 2021-04-28T01:39:22Z

Interesting idea in concept, but the UX really drags it down. I can't figure out how the charge-up meter for digging holes works, it's like it only works when I let go of the button? Would be nice if picking up an item while already holding one just swapped the two items. Shovels need to do more damage. Would be nice if I could trick zombies into falling into holes and stunning or slowing them with that.

Vertigo by GaryS 2021-04-28T01:12:14Z

Fun little game! Excellent audio and artwork. Melee attack reach is kinda short but it is forgiving that monsters can't kill you, they just slow you down, which feels right considering the screen is what kills you. It appears breaking statues makes the camera move faster, is that correct?

Made in the Deep by ambivorous 2021-05-13T00:21:17Z

Interesting idea! Making careful precise jumps might not be the best implementation, I wonder if having a fixed-height short jump and more controlled climbing mechanics would execute it better. Art style and assets are good.

End of my Rope by Maytch 2021-04-27T16:35:15Z

The lowpoly environment art looks good! I like the core mechanic, full rope physics for platforming and swinging works out quite well. Final boss is actually kinda creepy!

20.000 LIGHT YEARS deep in THE SKY by Arivenzys 2021-04-28T01:25:25Z

Great artwork! Definitely not the usual kind of game you see in these jams. Your art team is quite creative.

Crashdown by iellswo 2021-04-27T00:36:05Z

We are posting a little early just in case, and to figure out the upload system. The build here is a couple hours old and lacks the last level and boss. Final build will be up in an hour.

Crashdown by iellswo 2021-04-27T01:49:53Z

We accidentally deleted the boss's death animation clip and had to re-add all the frames manually. Also adjusted the floor to be less eye-wateringly gray. Moved the victory platform under the boss. Final build is up, game is done!

Crashdown by iellswo 2021-04-29T01:50:56Z

@whysguy52 Can't change weapons, when you pick one up you discard the previous one. Didn't have time for an inventory system, sorry!

Nestence by guimm12 2021-05-09T01:36:12Z

Lotta variety here! I definitely want to see what it looks like when you expand on it.

LD52 — Harvest

Space Garden by Yamzho 2023-01-15T20:09:15Z

An interesting one. I felt like I never felt pressured to make decisions about my deck, maybe because I had lots of turns to work with.

Elonkorjuu - Live Harvest by Tutti Ankka 2023-01-17T03:49:39Z

Excellent art style, slick gameplay. Awesome entry!

H. R. Vest by mvasko2 2023-01-11T15:21:03Z

Nice horror game! I like the drawings, good stuff!

Super Plant Farm by superpokeunicorn 2023-01-10T14:59:51Z

A solid game! Great job with this one. I want more of it.

Warden of the Woods by arzi 2023-01-23T05:16:03Z

Quite ambitious for a game jam game! I'd love to see what a full version of it looks like.

Galactic Garden by MartensCedric 2023-01-26T19:59:46Z

Oh, nice! Having to plant on moving asteroids makes things quite interesting, it would be nice if there was also a way to keep asteroids in the same spot, like towing them around. I'd also like to see some more complexity, like subtle action from enemies stealing your crops, or asteroids having terrain that favors certain types of plants. Good entry!

Mountain of the Dragon Fruits by thomas-olsson 2023-01-24T22:08:38Z

Nice puzzle game! Would like to see more advanced levels.

Lavender Fields Forever by Rongo Matane 2023-01-24T04:33:42Z

You've got a great one here. I'd love to see this idea done on the scale of Factorio or Forager.

Harvest Roll by NekuSoul 2023-01-23T16:02:30Z

Interesting mechanics. An explanation of the space in between the bag and the field would help (I think everything in there is discarded?) Could benefit greatly from a little audio.

Pig Polly by Likirus 2023-01-12T06:15:33Z

Good concept! I did feel like having to wait on cooldown for sniffing was awkward, might be better to just force the player to stop moving when they use it. Otherwise you've got a solid core gameplay loop there.

Wheat World by Belonzik 2023-01-14T16:08:23Z

Nicely put together! I'd love to see it with some more polish.

Dead Earnest by PoshDan 2023-01-27T03:43:57Z

Hey, nice demo! Would be fun to see it given more mechanics, or some kind of roguelike setup.

Souls harvest by PlusMinus 2023-01-26T20:18:40Z

Interesting setup, I think it has potential. I think it would help me plan my traps and who I buff if I could better predict where characters will be moving. A layout of hallways and rooms, or paths and roads, perhaps? Also would be nice if it told me how much damage I would Smite/Heal for.

Howdy Boy Harvest by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-01-23T15:04:55Z

Excellent! The bugs-versus-growing loop is really good. I was shocked that the bugs actually can help you harvest your crops under circumstances. Would love to see a full version with upgrades to spend the higher-tier resources on.

Ice Tactics by cappa_games 2023-01-11T05:35:29Z

Could not get past the first pause button level. Otherwise a neat implementation for a puzzle game.

Agent 001 by Maytch 2023-01-20T23:12:11Z

Hey, this is an interesting one! That's a neat mechanic, there's a lot you could do with programmable guns. I'd love to see more stuff in it.

Witch's Wilds by Vipaka 2023-01-10T14:44:50Z

A cute core gameplay loop, there's definitely a bit of strategy to collecting. Some kind of variety, or larger goal, or complication to plan around would be a nice addition. Player's hitbox should be smaller.

Fall's Tome by pepnou 2023-01-13T01:32:31Z

Wow, that's something you don't usually see at a game jam! Nice work, I like it. Would be nice if I could frame composition closer to the edges of the shot without losing stars.

KRÉ Farm Prototype by KreGames 2023-01-10T02:31:24Z

I'm not sure what to do. The UI seems cut off, it seems like you configured the frame to be larger than the Ludum Dare page frame, but it also seems like the camera isn't directly pointing at UI. I was able to plant seeds but I don't understand how watering them is suppposed to work.

Blood Harvest by Efilheim 2023-01-12T19:05:56Z

Real good one! Wish it had more levels.

Reap 'n' Roll by Aurailus 2023-01-09T16:19:25Z

Neat idea, wish I had more types of enemies to use all these cool spells on. Would be nice if spells were faster to cast. The ranged mages make me angry everytime one hits me.

Brain Crops by BinaryPrinciple 2023-01-19T02:52:22Z

Neat little idea. Would be nice to have a bit more complexity, like having to avoid words that are not in the sentence.

Barvest: The Iconic Bug Harvest of 2005 by picross 2023-01-13T05:44:38Z

A drop shadow to indicate where I'm going to land would be helpful. The camera lock when webbing felt disorienting. Touching a bug after webbing it feels like it should eat it instead of taking damage.

Farmula Grain Prix by Chase of Bass 2023-01-21T00:19:14Z

Wow, that's a lot! I wish there was some additional pressure so I have to think about laps, like having the lap time go down each lap and I have to invest in power-ups to keep going (if it's already doing that it's not obvious).

Open Seasoning by ssh.randy 2023-01-12T01:59:06Z

Would be nice if I could see other players' names so I know who to bring down a notch.

Leafus by koboldskeep 2023-01-09T15:39:59Z

Removed the OpenGameArt art assets, wrote a new music track, and edited some sound effects to comply with Ludum Dare's new assets rule.

Tune-uki: Human Harvest by CasualNothing 2023-01-10T02:44:05Z

Using harvested body parts and stolen clothing as points of health in a rhythm game is actually really clever.

Billiard Hero by thyoi 2023-01-15T06:40:05Z

Best pool game I've ever played. Great job on this one!

Worm Harvester 3 by Bosco 2023-01-11T05:32:11Z

Cute, it's an interesting pair of gameplay loops! Would be nice if I didn't have to scroll through the worm list to send them all out in glorious battle.

(we sell) P.E.O.P.L.E. by nullval 2023-01-11T15:30:03Z

An interesting mechanic, the email subject lines are fun. Would be nice if it showed me how the sliders would change when I mouse over the button.

Inked Garden by Haotian Chen 2023-01-14T15:53:49Z

Nice platformer! I feel bad not being able to attack in the air. That last wave seemed impossible, I'm honestly not sure how I got through it.

The Time Traveler's Garden by Drizzle Games 2023-01-13T04:49:17Z

Very clever, your team did great! I wish there was more strategy to placing seeds.

Rot'n lov by Guilleade 2023-01-10T02:28:52Z

Buggy, I ended up with negative carrot seeds and could just plant them infinitely. Dying appears to not be implemented. The Quit button features were pretty clever, though.

Yggdrasil by AntonyMo 2023-01-15T19:21:37Z

Good one! Not a bad puzzle game, I'd love to see a more polished post-jam version.

I often have trouble telling which color counter belongs to which tile, maybe it would be easier with more contrast between tiles.

Money grows on trees by Fluburbio 2023-01-11T05:20:54Z

Cute! Could have been improved with some kind of alternative pressure (having to pay increasing debts down every minute, fruit rotting if not harvested, maximum fruit capacity). It's a bit painful that the best strategy becomes mashing everything, some kind of auto-harvester purchase would be a nice change of pace.

Unfortunate Harvest by redemptor 2023-01-13T15:50:44Z

Not a bad platformer! It's possible to slide off of objects as you land on them to pick them up, possibly an issue with collision layers.

LD52 - Space Cargo Harvest by megafatsquirrel 2023-01-10T02:35:12Z

It would be helpful if there was an explanation of the controls somewhere, like in the description of the game page. After bringing in my first haul, I could no longer collect anything.

LD54 — Limited Space

CrystalLine by graebor 2023-10-14T21:02:51Z

Nice puzzle-score game. Surprisingly deep. I like it a lot!

windowkill by torcado 2023-10-04T20:23:54Z

"Limited space," indeed. Nice one! Would be nice if it had some music... I haven't figured out what the drain and peer do yet. Peer can be moved around to find another eye, but... what does it do?

Station Defender by bloodyaugust 2023-10-03T03:17:21Z

I'd like to see other things you could sell off, like the ability to see enemy health bars (or conversely a long-range scanner that improves your lock-on or homing shots).

Tiny Temple by sinclairstrange 2023-10-05T15:11:48Z

Nice little roguelike. I totally forgot I could double jump because it rarely comes up.

Spacetour Express by RenD 2023-10-14T19:22:06Z

Wow, it really comes together. That's a nice one. Nothing too fancy, but it caught my attention for a good 20 minutes.

Ribbon 2 by 100th_Coin 2023-10-04T03:26:27Z

A platformer with a twist! Get it? Twist? Heh.

Ozone by Benstar 2023-10-04T22:44:55Z

Nice polish! It feels like a finished game. I feel like it shrinks down too quickly. Maybe give the player options like being able to widen the circle but add two enemies?

Terminal Noise by fusionnist 2023-10-06T19:24:17Z

I'm reminded of The Shadow Out of Time by H.P. Lovecraft. Nice puzzle game.

Troglo by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-10-04T02:54:54Z

Neat! Solid platformer. I like the animations, are they rigged?

Pocket Crypt by twopoint3 2023-10-14T20:41:18Z

You've gotta put a link on your Itch page pointing to this page so we can vote on it! Itch also has Ludum Dare integration and can put a link at the top of the page for you.

Small Plot Agriculture by SimonLarsen 2023-10-14T19:37:53Z

Nice look and aesthetic. I didn't realize harvesting plants was its own button, I was expecting it would be a tool like everything else and I accidentally destroyed all of my crops. -_-

ROOMGUN by Hydezeke 2023-10-14T21:47:36Z

Exquisite.

Less is Moore by Aurailus 2023-10-03T15:17:24Z

Actually a really engaging puzzle game. Wish it had more levels. Wish I could make my own DogPhoneâ„¢.

Parking Garage Rally by walaber 2023-10-14T18:30:47Z

Nice! Very fun to move the car around. I'm very sad that it won't let me cheat and make shortcuts on the track.

HOLY by mmatt_ugh 2023-10-14T22:14:27Z

Oh, nice! Each of the monsters is annoying in its own way, which I like. Not a bad game. I'd like to see a more polished version of it.

Legendary Doomguy by luddegodofpain 2023-10-14T17:05:59Z

Neat idea! Would like to see a more fleshed-out and polished version of this that has more mechanics and a tutorial. I couldn't tell if my attacks were doing damage to zombies, or whether I should have been shooting the ground under them.

Mind the Gap by LelulaGames 2023-10-03T04:19:48Z

Cute and chill. Wish it had more.

Legs by edgeboyo 2023-10-17T16:32:26Z

Surprised the axe couldn't cut down a tree. Otherwise a competent inventory-based adventure game, and you don't see those too often in game jams. The movement-boosting items were a nice touch.

BACK TO REALITY by koboldskeep 2023-10-03T03:08:26Z

@nozomu57 Thank you! The theme "not enough space" is both the black hole crowding you out and not having enough space on your ship for all the clones. If you collect a lot of clones and few parts, the final card will mention that there wasn't enough seats on your ship. We had one additional stupid joke we were going to add to make it more obvious that you're collecting seats for your ship in the form of cylinder sections you snap into the middle of it to make it longer, but we had to cut it for time.

@bloodyaugust Thank you! Yeah, I think it could work with several more levels like this and a few more mechanics.

BACK TO REALITY by koboldskeep 2023-10-03T14:46:00Z

@andrei-gusan Interesting. I'll have to let the black hole grow to that point to see whether it causes issues. At that point you're getting sucked into the black hole anyways, so it should direct you to a game over screen with a prompt to press F12 to restart.

BACK TO REALITY by koboldskeep 2023-10-11T13:37:53Z

@tommy Thanks! Yeah, I think the main problem is that you can stack all of your clones on one task and they finish it lightning-quick and teleport right back to you. Pikmin only lets you do that in versus battles, and most carryable objects have minimum and maximum numbers required for moving them.

@killerb Yeah, we decided to go with the isometric view for the 90s look and we're glad it turned out looking so good. We've considered adding more levels, but we've got many other projects that are higher-priority right now.

@destroyertech The clone personalities were Alan Bahr's idea. Did you know he writes TTRPG Books?

@draekdude Glad you enjoyed it!

@a1stakesauce Thank you!

@ismael-rodriguez Dandori is fun. Dandori is a good time. Dandori should take up all your time.

@the3rdhunter Thanks! Animatrix1490 made the music.

@raptorspank I spent some time fiddling with the level layout and the speed of the black hole to make sure it was oppressive but still felt fair. Everybody's reaction to the black hole sucking up a chunk of the level was priceless.

BACK TO REALITY by koboldskeep 2023-10-16T16:37:25Z

@edgeboyo It helps that we had a programmer, artist, and writer on the team. Also, Godot is FAST.

@sad-studios Thank you!

@cdunham Glad you liked it. :D

Prairie Dog Panic! by SAD Studios 2023-10-12T15:00:35Z

Nicely put together. Would love to see some more variety.

Stretchmancer by Choo 2023-10-11T13:20:49Z

Love the creative game mechanics and puzzles you've got here. The "plot" was fun too.

GridBlocked by KillerB 2023-10-14T18:15:01Z

Neat little idea. Buggy if you drop items on top of each other. I'd like to see a more complex version of it.

Feng Shui Struggles by Nozomu57 2023-10-03T03:30:22Z

Mmm, this is fantastic! I can't think of anything to improve it, you've got a really solid one here.

Spacekeep by the Kickin' Big Phroggy Shovel Toasty Malone Dogs by kickball 2023-10-03T14:42:27Z

Neat idea. I'm really hurting because of several UI issues: * Having to drag in each item one at a time is tedious, slow, and the hitboxes to click on ores seem to be too small. * Dragging items to the space station is also slow. * Enemies swarmed in way too fast and in too high of numbers for me to get ready for them. * The movement controls should normalize the clicked input direction, right now I travel very quickly horizontally because of the screen's aspect ratio, and it's weird that I travel slowly unless I click in just the right place. * Grinding sound should get quieter the longer it runs, it's a subtle quality of life improvement There's definitely some potential here. More upgrades like an electric damage field for your ship, or increased knockback from the space station on attackers.

Pactory by Ralian 2023-10-03T03:55:35Z

Okay, that's pretty good. Nice game!

Ma|n|dness at shopping by andrei.gusan 2023-10-03T15:36:30Z

Okay, the avocado part was pretty good.

LD55 — Summoning

First Summon by MaxguN 2024-04-20T16:30:30Z

Cute puzzle game. Kinda difficult to figure out what some of the items are. Would be nice to have some kind of hint system.

Infernal Conquest by bloodyaugust 2024-04-20T17:06:36Z

Nice job on the coding and setup. I don't see this kind of game very often.

Oh man, there was NO indication I had to scroll the map! It's actually very frustrating to not be able to see the foe's spawned enemies while I'm clicking on the spawners and selecting units. It seems imbalanced that I can just make a killball in one lane once I have enough resources, some kind of limit and consideration for more expensive units would be nice.

Shadow Summoner by Tommy 2024-05-02T16:43:46Z

Hey, an awesome roguelike! That's great, I like how you have the risk/reward setup. I'm sure there's some more optimal ways to play this. It would be nice if there was more in-depth roguelike choices and the ability to make a broken build (like "all level 1 runes spawn two critters instead of 1"). I think I was getting hit by invisible projectiles at later levels and I'm not sure what that was about. Audio was a little rough and could use some balancing and duplicate noise reduction. Otherwise it came out great!

Boots Of Summoning by detectiveLosos 2024-04-17T02:45:52Z

Neat take on an endless wave of foes. That's neat! I wish I had more feedback on 1) enemy HP scaling over time, and 2) the locations of nearby power-ups. I generally have to walk backwards towards powerups and that's not the most fun, so some kind of directional hint would be helpful.

Doesn't the use of stock SFX disqualify you from the Audio category?

Wonder Whistle by Ismael Rodriguez 2024-04-28T01:45:19Z

Very clever and quite well-polished! Great puzzle design at the start to ensure the player understands the mechanics.

Stellar Fishing by Kiddy 2024-05-02T03:38:57Z

Kinda funny and cute. I like the vibe. Giving the dog eyeballs was not the best choice. I like that there were several different minigames.

Doesn't using premade assets disqualify you from Graphics?

Library Fighter II Turbo by JoeShanahan 2024-04-25T02:36:15Z

That's a fun one! There's a few mechanics I didn't quite feel like I understood, like how to intercept enemies right before they moved, or what special abilities each card was supposed to have.

Golem Guardians by Substain 2024-05-01T13:40:29Z

Ranged attacks seem OP, it would be nice if the flamethrower was bigger and melee attacks splashed and stunned or something. I'd love the guys to act on their own without direct control, even at reduced effectiveness. The cutscenes are way too slow. Would love to have some way to speed them up. And I accidentally skipped the ending cutscene because I had been mashing left-click. :( Anyways, I dig the lowpoly art style on the creepy ghosts and it's a decent setup for a game.

Grave Wrangler by Bearacus 2024-05-03T23:13:49Z

I like the animations. Is there any reason not to spawn enemies south of you at all times? Clicking on the Start button seems unnecessary and it took me a while to figure it out. Would be nice to have some obstacles or explosive barrels to deal with.

Blort's Big Adventure by koboldskeep 2024-04-24T04:48:11Z

@joeshanahan Oh thank you for showing it off! Sorry about the glitches, but it seems like you enjoyed it. :D

Sky Dudes by osh.studio 2024-04-28T20:29:31Z

Screenshot 2024-04-28 142755.png Interesting idea! I like how it works and I want to see what could be added to it. Some kind of system where fields eventually run out and you have to keep adding stuff to sustain the population, maybe?

MEOWTERSPACE by Tetracold 2024-04-20T16:40:55Z

Love the art style. It's very confusing to start up, some kind of in-game tutorial would be helpful. I have no idea what the conditions are to summon another UFO. It's strange that I have to first summon a UFO, then drag and drop a crew member onto it. It feels like the best strategy is to just use a dozen cats as meat shields, only turning on lasers when there's a fish enemy. Nice music track.

Hungry Portals by marleeeeeey 2024-04-25T02:53:59Z

My wrist hurts. Can we hold the button down to auto-fire? Otherwise very impressive coding for a game jam game, nice job! I'd like to see it with power-ups and more enemy variety.

bergs by burnttoastdev 2024-04-17T03:02:00Z

Absolutely phenomenal. Love what you did with height and leg length. Amazing work for a jam game.

Shay’s Goldem Mob by KriSsS Gonko 2024-04-24T04:40:04Z

Cute graphics! Would be nice if enemies took damage every time they damaged me so they'd eventually go away and I wouldn't get stuck in a mob. How am I supposed to press the arrow keys to boost summons when I'm using WASD to run away and the mouse to shoot? I can see a lot more potential in a fleshed-out version of this where you have different situational summon types to help you out.

Harvest Festival by Sampai 2024-04-21T20:20:07Z

Stuffed full of memes, I see... The "combat" mechanic is interesting. You did a few neat things with it and I'd like to see it developed into a full game. Some kind of tutorial would be helpful, even if it's a text label somewhere. Why does the Restart button require a mouse click?

Chessummon by Def-Mane 2024-04-27T08:57:08Z

Interesting idea. I was very confused even after playing it a couple of times. Could not figure out how to make the rune puzzle work, it seems like it's 9 pieces and none of them can slide anywhere? It's surprising that enemy pawns can attack backwards and knights can attack in straight lines.

TAKE ME HOME by PlintusB 2024-04-23T01:54:43Z

I don't know why it's so fun to sort the animals. I just know it is. Pretty great by all accounts. My only complaint is that there's a menu when you could just have a pen or a biohazard section to drag and drop them into. Good job coming up with something on-theme and still very unique.
