Good god man do you ever rest? Amazing game, I've played for an hour and could honestly play for many more (though I'm currently meant to be working =P) The only issue I had was occasionally a room was entirely black and couldn't see anything, but those two runs were cursed to heck and back so oh well. Super fun, I have no idea how you pull off 100 rooms and a bajillion items, curses, blessings, weapons and enemies all in three days. Genuinely bonkers.
@justcamh Oh whoops! I thought I fixed that, hopefully the update might have solved that issue. I misplaced a door spawn so it would just throw you out somewhere else. Hopefully there isn't any more of those!
Thanks! I actually didn't do as much as planned as I basically missed the first day due to self inflicted food poisoning haha. Really wanted to do an extra set of levels and also perhaps an end boss but alas as per usual I ran out of time! Hope you liked it nonetheless!
I can't get past the title screen
@ismael-rodriguez Oh woops! Sorry about that, I forgot to include the keyconfig file on that new upload fixing the black room bug, should all work now!
Very nice. Lots of variety with weapons and enemy types. I like the different objectives. My high score is room 63. The rooms get harder (and somewhat brutal) after 50, but I wasn't as interested in playing 0-50 again because it was getting a bit repetitive, literarily repeating rooms. Is there an ending? I wonder if the goal should be 50 rooms, with the 2nd set coming at 25, which would reduce the chances of seeing the same rooms more than once in 1 run. I found the theme representation to be a little weak, but everything else is great. Love the visual style, audio is great, feels good to jump and shoot all the different guns. Great job overall!
Nice little roguelike. I totally forgot I could double jump because it rarely comes up.
Nice short game! I failed on my first try not realizing that I have double jump. But on second try, I breezed through 100 rooms. Shotgun or spread shot never fail me. The difficulty seems to be the same throughout the game for me except after 50 rooms with new enemies appearing. Weapon are varied but I decided to rely on simpler weapon to avoid running out of ammo (which almost happened in my first try). That being said, it was fun short game.

Okay this is sick. For the first 50 floors I was like... eh, it's fine, it's my favourite game sequence of yours probably but it's too easy, then I hit level 50 and it stepped up. Nice stuff. yo, rate some games, you can't just idle at 6 votes!
I must say, this game is absolutely outstanding! I found myself completely engrossed in it for a solid 30 minutes. It's incredibly addictive, and I couldn't tear myself away from it. The level design is truly captivating, with interesting challenges and twists that kept me on my toes. Moreover, the game offers a wide array of rich elements that add depth and excitement to the overall experience. I highly recommend giving it a try. I also invite you to come and experience our game as well; I think you'll enjoy it.

Omg this is very nice, I hope you get enough ratings :o Looks good, feels good, almost like a hardcore roquelike. My only problem lies with the key levels, I destroyed everything without finding the key and then got stuck and had to restart. But really cool, especially for one person.
That's some amazing jamming you did, to accomplish all that in just one day. Awesome work!

Nice work! Especially worth noting the visual design.
Pretty fun to play! Keep up the good work! :v:

This. Is. Out of this world.
Love the artstyle, love the idea, HUGE respects for a full difficulty up and completely new rooms after level 50, this is even more work than I imagined.
Maybe levels 1-50 were too grindy and repetitive (especially after finding shotgun, haha), would love to be able to get to the real challenge a bit faster.
This may just be the best game I have played so far
The amount of polish here is absolutely insane for the time it was made. it genuinely feels like a full finished game, not a 72 hour thing. i have no idea how you pulled this off, some black magic
Graphics are amazing, there's a lot of visual variety and the NES look is done excellently. The soundwork is great too, very satisfying sounds
The controls are great. There's a great amount variety of variety n the guns items room layout. I barely felt the repetition beacuse there's so many variables to the rooms they all end up feeling fresh. I could not stop playing the game until I finished it. super addictive.
I don' really know what else to say, it's just peak
I spent at least around an hour here, easily. What we have here is insane for a game jam, it's too much. The pixel art graphics are very good, simple but very well used, everything is visually perfect. Adequate sounds, balanced gameplay, it's not easy but it's not difficult either. When I fell on the thorns I couldn't jump anymore, that's a matter of certain death, maybe I should be able to jump back and get out of the thorns. The diversity of weapons and randomness is incredible. I realized the second time I died that the game wouldn't be repetitive, this is a game design class, I put it in my favorites so I wouldn't forget. Dude, please, you need to play more games and publicize this on the main page, I don't know, there's so little left, I can't accept that a game like this is hidden, it's very paradoxical. At ludum dare it doesn't really matter if your game is insane unless other people find it, and the only way is to play the games, that's a fact. I saw an exception but the guy is a very well-known streamer, so.
Got to room 40! Really fun game to play! If I have to nitpick I would say that I would have prefered it if the game started windowed because the text is very difficult for me to read in full screen. Also sometimes I got sucked into the next level while I still wanted to collect something and since resources are very important I think it would be nice if continuing to the next level required a button press. Other than that allround great entry! :)
I died on my first try, feeling kind of claustrophobic (fits the theme, I guess), and on the 2nd try I got a room where I couldn't progress because the key was too high up (ok, I now read the instructions and it seems I could've double jumped to get to where I was supposed to).
The retro style is very well executed from looks to sounds.
Others in the comments seem to find it too easy, but I feel cramped and die easily, can't get nearly as far as them.
The different weapons are cool and feel good to shoot.
Omg this is amazing... I have no words for you this is just way too much for a game jam.
Died on 52. Default control was a bit annoying for me before I realized I could customize it, and I almost gave up before seeing others commenting about new rooms after level 50.
The only issue I had was that here in this room items seemed to fell under the ground and then I wasn't able to pick it up.com1.png
Really polished game, I can't believe it was finished in such a short time, seems sort of crazy to me!
You weren't lying, this is a hard one!
But it's really polished and I like the old school look. I wish I was good enough to see more levels ahah.
Great game for such short development time!

Woah this game has to be the most polished one i've seen so far! Really impressive that it was completed in such a short time. I really love the randomness of the level and its difficulty...
Only complaint I have is that once the game ends via defeat, if you're not on full screen, it will go back to full screen.
Beautiful game, love the gorgeous retro graphics and sound. Fantastic work!

Not nearly as many bugs as you warned, and a pleasant experience overall! The colour palette took some time to get used to, but it grew on me pretty quickly since it feels like it matches the game mood pretty well!
