Pretty neat little game!

Pretty neat little game!
Art was amazing, music was fun, humor/swearing was hilarious. Things I would improve:
- Walk cycle instead of bounce, - More battles in the beginning, - More stuff to do instead of just bouncing around
That is all I can think of for now. I would love to try this game again when there is a walk cycle because I found the bouncing a little too much for eye strain, but otherwise I love love love the dialogue, the art, and the whole idea of it!
I like the graphics, humor and mood, but I couldn't get the hang of the backwards driving (is this a bug?) so I gave up, which made me a little sad. Ah well.
Haha my head popped off nearing the end. Pretty funny! As for feedback, I wasn't entirely sure why there was no HTML5 version (hi I'm new here) but now that I know it was made with Unreal Engine... well that makes sense. Good job, looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with next jam!
@cole-and-jordan-studios oh it’s Unity!! I didn’t know haha. Ahhh bugs bugs bugs XD
Wow, its really crazy that one person made this! I have nothing more to add because everyone else has added many comments which I agree with. I actually do like the paper-flip of the character because it seems more like a storybook to me. I really enjoyed the radio/batteries part of it. Good work! and yes I am finally getting around to commenting and rating haha.
Hah I was totally not expecting this game to be what it is. Really unique idea! Of course, it was challenging to get the pose right but that's the point. Nice little entry for LD51! Thanks for sharing.
Interesting proof of concept, or rather a "sketch" of a game, I'd call it! Definitely needs some sort of timer bar and then more levels... lots of levels, to catch the kitty doing bad things in many different ways. I would love to see where this game goes after the jam, as it has a huge amount of potential, especially for mobile like an iPad.
Good stuff! I can see this being a fun mobile game, and more levels/islands/stuff added to it. Barnacles would be fun. Really good graphics! I saw this on the ColeSlawski stream tonight. :)
Very interesting concept. Good graphics, really good! Bunnies seem to be a thing this year... I am liking it.
Crits:
- Music could be more varied and "battle" themed, - Had a weird flashing screen on the web player (Chrome) when I tried pairing PS5 controller
That's about it! Would like to see future versions of this game!
Great game, got to the end, hand cramped up and I had to stop haha. Controller support would be my jam for sure but obviously that would make it too easy tee hee. Sound is nice and upbeat without being annoying, graphics are nice and crisp, really cute little blob dude. Nice work!
I like the idea of this game but I had a hard time enjoying myself because the "select a player" prompt kept popping up and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Also I found the walking a little slow. Nice music, attractive palette and interesting concept, however. An option to turn off that prompt would make me stay in the game much longer.
@human-writes-code hehe it’s all good, I know that many of us (especially first timers like my team) are inspired to make improvements on our existing games (after the jam) and will be taking many lessons from this! The community feedback is indispensable! Also I’m tired and need coffee. Mmm brain fuel …
Really cool graphics! I have no musical sense but somehow it still worked out.
This would be a perfect mobile game! It reminds me of Papers, Please and that game was easier to move objects around on mobile (tablet).
Great graphis, music, and color palette! Love the little character. Now for some feedback: I feel that a bouncy arrow indicator would be nice for the first level at least, to indicate that we must walk into the little building/timer in the center.
I also couldn't figure out how to hit the little ghost in the second level, or if I was able to fight them off in the first place. I was annoyed that I could not toss the bones in the daytime in order to hit the now-turned-red ghosts.
Finding explosives or potions or swords underneath the bones would make it funner to "pass the time" instead of waiting around... something to hit the ghosties with. I think this can be developed further and would be a really well-rounded game if the battle mechanic were ironed out!
Otherwise, it looks super polished and pro! Good work! LOVE the art. Am Jealous. Haha.
I enjoyed the graphics, palette, concept and execution but I am terrible at puzzle games. haha
I really like the idea behind this game, and the kitty in the tank is super cute (that is why I tried it out) but I think I am not so good at Tetris-style games, so i'm not sure how to offer suggestions on how to make it better. I played it a few times though! Nice entry!
So, I liked many things about the game, but I found it distracting to have to pull out my phone to scan a QR code. I also got a link to some Bible quote which I did not understand... maybe I just couldn't piece it together. I like mysterious storylines in games and books but having to scan a QR code made the game less immersive for me.
The blinking and changing every 10 seconds was a really neat use of the theme.
I actually really liked the game, even though at first I didn't understand why I was teleporting LOL! I figured it out very quickly, however. The only thing I would add to the game is a little x/3 counter for the objects, so that the player isn't going back to an area they've already collected an item from, but this would make it too easy perhaps ;) Really nice entry!
Really nice work, to be done in such a short amount of time! I am still trying to get my paired PS5 controller to work with the web version but no big deal.
Really cute and fun! Took me a minute but I got it eventually. I don't usually play rhythm games but I would play this one a bunch if it were expanded beyond LD51. Good stuff!
Hmm I didn't know this was a thing. I thought that liking other people's comments was boosting that post/their game. On that note, I tried your game just now and could not get the little dude to move... using Chrome and web browser. As for your page, artwork and screenshots would be incredibly helpful because it shows people what the game play is like. LD51 was our first jam but not our last, and I see now how important it is to have lots of info and screenshots on the game page! I hope you can get more ratings, good luck!
Heya, I finally got around to trying your game. Actually I teared up a little at the end! Honestly it was a great little game, full of "life", so to speak! My only criticism is the white vertical lines in the backgroud, which I am not sure if it was a glitch or not. I am using Chrome browser and played the web version. Otherwise, honestly, its one of the best little games I have played lately. It truly tells a simple story with some fun mini-games inside. Congrats and ziveli! (from a Canadian-Serb to Ukraine!)
Nice little entry. I would definitely like to try it again if you were to polish it a little more and perhaps add more things to do in the game! I like the story because it shows that effort was put into some world idling. I tried using a paired PS5 controller on web player but it did not work for me. Will have to try it with a download.
Anything bunnies is a yes! It worked well on iPad Pro tablet which surprised me. Delightful. Addendum… just realized that Blibloop is the same artist I follow and buy art from on Etsy! Love your work!
I really liked it! I am not sure if the player should be floating in mid-air when starting but I am sure its not a big deal haha. I tried getting my controller to pair and play it but was not able to. Looking forward to updates! I do like the abstract art stuff in the background :)
The meta concept is really good! Didn't spend too long in kittenwave.exe though (initially) as I was hoping to get some viruses by clicking random old-PC desktop stuff... hehe
I downloaded the game to my PC and used a paired PS5 controller. Everything worked perfectly. I think this is my favorite game so far of Ludum Dare 51. I feel you deserve many more ratings and I think that could be solved by having a web playable version, because most people skip over the downloads (I know I did initially but now I am downloading some of the games I think I missed). Amazing art. I am jealous of your game - I love it!! I would play a full version of this and also buy merch because it is so cute. I apprecate the BOTW-style audio too :)
Its been a year of bunnies in games, which pleases me! Adorable, polished art and nice simple gameplay. Worked with PS5 controller to my surprise. I did get so many bunnies that I wasn't sure why I got in trouble/game ending, even though I had lots of carrots in the box. haha
haha I suck at the game but it is well done!
Okay, haha. I played it and then didn't know how to turn the music on, and also didn't know that the items were equippable. I went back and read the text to see what else I had missed and saw that people were equipping the sound bytes onto the Gremlinz. Having said that, here are my thoughts!
- Text on-screen would help tutorialize the process, - Needs more Gremlinz, - Different levels would be cool.
Overall, seems like a cool, really unique idea that needs a bit more fleshing out! Like some destination they are going to... an intergalactic stage perhaps! Good work!
Very fun concept!
This was similar to another game in LD51 called Tattooz, except they were able to get HTML5 web working and Wacom tablet pen... which did not work for this game, sadly. Web player would have been convenient, as I am always worried about downloading games.
I liked your concept of earning money, however! It shows that this game has huge potential for more polish, more doodles to draw, and more storyline! I really wish that my Wacom Cintiq 22 pen worked with the game. All I get with the pen are dots - the line will not draw. I was able to use my mouse just fine but the Wacom pen would have been great.
To recap...
Likes:
- Story concept involving the earning of money, - Graphics were really nice and polished, - Doodles were fun, - Sounds and music were nice!
Improvements:
- HTML5 web player, - Wacom pen did not work, - More challenging doodles would be nice, - Ending to the game!
I would love to see future updates for this game. Good work!
Hey! I just got a 404 Not Found when I clicked on your itch.Io page.
@amberfall92 oh, ok. I haven’t tried web yet but in case it’s janky, I like to use the itch.io link! Hopefully it’ll work for me. I’m just on my iPad right now so I’ll have to play & rate when I get to my pc haha.
Okay, so let me tell you about bunnies... I love themmmmb! Also, I was stupid at first and was disappointed that there was no shooting/weapon. Then I realized that shoot is mouse click. derp. So now after some playing, this is the first game on LD that I've given full ratings to! More levels would be amazing. I am going to try it with my PS5 controller now haha. If its released on Steam or something I am going to buy it and then buy it again for Nintendo and PS. Haha I LOVE ITTTTTTTTTT
haha spooky! i love monsters.. but I am too slow to finish the things XD
I saw a bunny so I clicked! Graphics are super cool, physics are also nice! I love all bunny things so all I am wishing for is like, an exploration game with some boss fights like the orb battle. Please expand!! Bunnies forever!! I love the barrel roll... i just want... more .. XD
I saw this game floating around in the list, so I checked it out but not before finding the StableDiffusion AI "Diffuse the Rest" and trying it out elsewhere. This seems like a neat idea but I am unsure about how much work was put into the "game" vs just slapping the AI in which is doing most of the grunt work.
The StableDiffusion AI "Diffuse the Rest" takes keywords and inputted images/drawn images and then generates an image based on the the global database scrape - which I understand... but where can you go beyond using the AI as a crutch? What else is there to keep people engaged with actual gameplay? I know I am leaving a tough comment but I am not sure what else there is to this entry aside from using the AI as it currently exists.
Path of Pain in Hollow Knight prepared me for this. Haha.
The srt, music, and level design was great! I used a paired PS5 controller and it worked just fine. I wish I was able to switch the jump button on the controller but that is a minor detail. A few issues cropped up for me:
- When I re-spawned, I would "float" in the air a bit and felt a bit "sticky"... so i'd yeet myself on the spikes to reset and that seemed to fix the sticky/float issue, - The ending was a big white screen but I could hear sound. Not sure if something didn't load correctly?
Otherwise, this could be a legit steam game if given more time/levels and content! Really good entry, should be way higher in ratings than it currently is!
Ahh really cool concept! I had some problems in the .exe, where the timer stopped at 6.47 or some such after laying my first human bone pile cube. Also the camera does a weird thing where it bounces, for some reason... I keep wanting to use the up/down/side pad to move and this is what moves the camera around but no movement for the doggo. I was hoping it would have controller support but I couldn't get it working. Would love to play the game with a controller, as I have trouble with keyboard movements! Looking forward to updates!
@theorioli heya yep, I paired up my PS5 controller which was working with a lot of other games! I also tried downloading the game in case it was the web player which was not recognizing it. We have lots of controllers in the house so I could try some other ones. I will attempt it again!
Sound effects and music need some balancing. It would be cool to have a version where the player could press a button to swap or to toggle the wait times. 10 seconds seems like too long to wait around to merge. Different level designs which don't require player to wait around too long. Otherwise, the concept seems interesting!
Thanks everyone! This is our first game! I learned a lot about art technical direction and project management haha crazy. Coming from a traditional art background, this was nutty and fun to do. Can’t wait to check out everyone’s games!
@settings haha thanks for your awesome review! It was our first game, first time submitting and first time working together on a time-crunch project such as this one. Looking forward to checking out everyone’s games and participating in a wonderfully supportive and nerdy community!
@bukkaketears haha thanks for the feedback! We figured that the click sound in the music would be enough to indicate the change but after hearing community feedback, we’d definitely add a little visual meter or clock to indicate the change! Thanks again.
@nash Art team here - thanks for your feedback! We would LOVE to polish up the art, for sure! Haha, by the end of the jam, my drawing arm was stiffened at 90 degrees because apparently curling into a shrimp and tucking into a couch while drawing for hours on end on the iPad is not ergonomic.
I have a Wacom Cintiq 22 but another part of our team was using it heavily... so... here I was thinking that the main artists will use Procreate only, but we ended up using every. single. damn. drawing device. in the HOUSE! ... and we do have a lot of them. Apparently I like to collect digital drawing tools, and traditional art supplies as well. haha
I envisioned a really sweet oil painting splash screen but we didn't get around to it. Keep an eye on our art pages to get updates on this, if interested... or I may make a blog post about our art process and slap it onto this site!

@4ahizon Thanks! Would you be able to clarify what you mean about the music improvements? It would help us with future games!
@defilerzero heya, thanks for your comment! Since it is our first game, and two of us are pro artists in a different world (oil painting, tattooing, drawing with traditional media), would you be able to expand on your feedback regarding the graphics looking a little noisy? It would help us with future games! Thank you! :)
@freerunner oooh, we have been trying to track down what is causing the sometimes-black box but need some more info to try and pin it down this time! Need info on your operating system and computer specs. Also is it the latest updated version of Firefox? Thanks for your help!
@freerunner Ok that is really good feedback, thank you! I will let @sean-esopenko know about that bug to see if he knows how to fix it. Yeah it makes more sense when Dog and Cat are not a black box hehe
@erkberg thanks again!
@fabula-rasa @cole-and-jordan-studios - thanks for your comments! Yes - we will be adding some checkpoints I think, if we decide to polish it up a bit more. It was a very popular suggestion haha. Also, a visual meter of when the changeover happens.
@foggydude - Yes! Another common request was a temporary ability like a dash-through. Thanks for your suggestions!
@doot - Ah, very good suggestions. I will tag our music person so she can read the music tips. Screenshake would be fun, perhaps.. we could try it out! @fiat-ventus
@f1krazy haha some of us didn't even get to play test it because we were busy with the art assets, so when I finally got a chance after the 4 pm deadline... I was like... you guys, this is too hard LMAO and I am not a stranger to being beat up in Hollow Knight and Elden Ring XD
@coleslaughter Thanks so much for streaming! woo!
@jag - I definitely want to work on my digital art asset and room skills. First time for everything! :D
@kleinzach @n-n @seurimas - thanks for playing and for your feedback!
@danial-jumagaliyev thanks for your feedback! It’s our first ever game and first ever jam entry haha! Gonna keep going with it methinks.
Very interesting concept and mechanic. I'm not sure if it was intended as a rage-game or not, but anyway I was hoping that I could speed up the block construction by yeeting myself into the spikes and "leaving something behind", so to speak. For future iterations, a 5-second option would be and excellent addition. Otherwise, I enjoyed the ice-skating feel and the ominous Christmas-themed music.
I came back to leave a full 100% rating on all categories because I realized after the fact that it works on my Wacom Cintiq 22 drawing tablet, which makes the game even funnier because I have a pro tablet, yet the tattoos are still totally janky. Its really cool that it judges my drawing! Pretty wild!
That was simultaeously infurating and delightful. Full ratings! Love it. Great!
Holy moly. This game is tops, for sure. I gave full ratings. Please check ours out if you get a chance! I can't believe you guys finished this level of polish in 72 hours. SUPER!
Omg this was awesome! The graphics were just really something else. I looooooooove the little critters, and the intruiging storyline too! I didn't realize they were chomping on my harvest until a little further on and then I wanted to feed them to the monster lmao!
Art style is great, garbly voices are amazing, really intruiging story... its just that... I couldn't figure out where to place the gear or the match box. I will have to revisit this again. Maybe a hint or something would be good. I'm great at combat games but maybe not so good at puzzles! Haha
- I really appreciate the hand-drawn art! - I died a lot which is fun! - Huge potential for some really cool sound and music. - More stuff to do would be awesome.
Nice work!
I tried playing it but the itch.io page says that the developer hasn't uploaded a game yet ;_;
Really nice visuals and gameplay, though I was confused at first because I need more coffee apparently. Haha.
- Sound would have been great, - Couldn't exit the task screen easily, - No idea what to do, (needs tutorial) - Nice idea/graphis!
@snowdrama Hmm I pressed a button which opened the screen but I didn't know which button it was... so I pressed ESC and it closed the whole window. Wellp. Haha.
Our game is missing a tutorial as well and in hindsight I think maybe I need some tutorials to get through a game, though sometimes not! Maybe more coffee... anyhoo I really like your mood and graphics!!
I really liked the simplicity and mechanics of this game. I found the sound effects to be 2x too loud and had to turn down my sound quite a bit. Otherwise, really nice entry!
Wow I almost missed this game! Its one of the ones I played entirely through. Very calming and fun little entry!
Nice casual little game with pleasing controls and power ups. Score care is great. Good little entry!
Neat! I wish there was sound. The Knockback was a bit of a surprise but it works!
Nice entry. I wish there was no timer though, so I can... take my time... haha.
Here I am, playing your game! The graphics and concept are great. I had trouble giving carrots to the customers even though I was left-clicking... not sure why it wasn't working for me!? Would be great to see more progress on this game for sure.
Edit: Omg i am stoopid. I kept trashing the carrots and didn't know it. LMAO I better pay more attention next time! :D
This is incredibly impressive, especially since it is like a Super Mario 2 game. The music was getting a bit repetitive but the sound effects were very nostalgic which is good in my books. I had some trouble getting past the basketball hoop part in the LD version of the game so I almost gave up and had to try the post-jam version which cleared things up a bit. Overall, can't wait to see the final!
Really cool and funny concept! Making the children and squirrels run away faster after consecutive plantings would be more challenging after the initial play. Overall, really cool concept and nice art. The slashing sound are satisfying.
Wow, the graphics and setting is really cool! Hard to believe it was done in 72 hours so that is amazing in and of itself. I, on the other hand, could not figure out how to harvest the items LMAO.. not sure if its just me or what. I tried using the blower but didn't really understand how to harvest the "fruits". Maybe a little tutorial thing would be good for us who have a bit of a hard time picking up on cues :) Nice, though!
I really enjoy the mood and simple graphics of this game. It looks inspired by Ori and Hollow Knight.
- The click mechanic to jump was a bit janky for me, as I kept "evaporating" at the ledges, even though I feel like I could have progressed. I don't know if this is a bug or a difficulty thing but I think if its the latter, then it makes the platforming process frustrating and makes me want to give up, - The music is great, graphics are nice, tutorial is appreciated!
Hmm nice story, good beginnings of a game but I am not sure if there is more to it (needs more content?) or maybe I experienced a "bug" (pun intended). After the first wave, I don't seem to be getting more monsters. Also there is no damage to the player. Sound is non-existent even though you entered to be rated in sound. Played on Itch.io in web player. The LD web player has an error and index.html cannot be found.
Hah, super cute art and nice gameplay! Dang doggo kept eating all of my food. Super fun!
Thanks for your comments and feedback, everyone! This is our second game jam ever and I’m glad we got something out of it yet again. It was my first time animating. I used Procreate and then did some technical stuff in Photoshop CC. Next time, I’d like to shade the monster before pushing the work to the team, because I ran out of time to go back and redo it. Haha. Thanks everyone!
@lukuluk thanks so much! I have never really done animation before but I am a huge appreciator of it. So... first time for everything. Our usual animator, @add-art (UI design and all other art for this game), cheered me on :)
@drsomma Thanks! Two programmers (one has a background in visual art & design but is a software dev), two artists (both fine arts and one with tattoo background experience, using Procreate) and one music/sound artist. We thought of the idea using sticky notes and a big pad of paper, and then sort of tweaked it a bit as we went. So... did we have a pro designer... nah, just trying to learn as we go :)
@maimai Thanks! We definitely learned what we would do differently next time (like, start with a basic shopping list... flour, rice, etc, and not start with noodles right away haha) so I'm glad LD exists for us to experiement and learn about game making. The feedback really helps because its nice to see things from other person's eyes!
@lizelive yeah for sure! Our first idea was to be able to put crops as a click and drag. Unfortunately we ran out of time but we agree with you 100% :)
I really wanted to play this cute lookin game but none of the controls worked in the browser (LD and itch.io). I tried restarting, I tried unplugging my PS5 controller... and just.. nothing worked. Clicks, WASD, arrow keys... sadface.
@climbing-dolphin Its on my PC, running windows. :)
Nice little entry! I really like the art.
This is so fresh and fun! I really like the graphics. Could use a soundtrack but its okay - you did a compo. Very nice entry, really enjoying it!
Art looks great, animation is great, but I can't get past the second click which makes me sad because I love a good platformer.
Pretty awesome, I have given full marks because i honestly don't know what I could crit haha.
Really polished game, I can't believe it was finished in such a short time, seems sort of crazy to me!
I really like the concept behind this game, but I had a few issues.
1) It took too many hits to kill enemies, 2) Getting hit once and you die then restart doesn't balance well with the "it takes too many hits to kill enemies," 3) Jumping was a bit janky
Could be tweaked and really fun! I like the artwork, voice-over and overall mood of the game.
I rated your game a while ago because I watched one of our team mates play it but I just got around to playing it and yeah, great as always! Nice little game, nothing too crazy, but it hits just right! Nice work!
The art is really cool and the music is fun, sort of reminds me of Bubsy for SNES. I had a really hard time even getting past the box in the first bit so... I'm not sure if the jumping is supposed to be super awkward but I think it would have been funner if it were slightly less annoying to platform around. I guess it fits with the theme? Haha
Kitty is super cute but I got squooshed even after trying a dozen times.
I have no idea what I am doing, but the game seems like fun with all the different combinations. I really like the mood and the audio of the game! This would be really cool with different skins/levels as a casual game. Nice work!Seagull island.JPG
Nice little fun game, It took me a minute to realize that the "Limited Space" idea was kicking in. Nice entry!
Nice entry, I like the art a lot and it is a good use of AI honestly. Good job!
I liked the title and the animation art, but I somehow won the game by randomly clicking on villagers. I saw the paladin and captured him + a bunch of villagers. Also it would be nice if there was more of a challenge or more levels! Maybe it could transition into an RPG type game.
Probably my favorite game so far during this LD.
I LOVE this game, everything about it! The art is awesome. Full marks, friends!
Really nice game, though I had a bit of a struggle with the wall climb mechanic. On a PS5 controller, the joystick up was "jump" which was interesting. Very cute concept game!
Lovely little game! I was able to get a PS5 controller to work with the movement, just not the clicking/fire. Its great, the art is nice and the atmosphere feels good. Also good "Limited Space" idea!
The art is amazing, I love little monsters! Unfortunately for me, this game seemed too complex for my brain so i didn't quite understand what was happening haha.
@coffeup-studios heya thanks! We will look into the bug. Our software guy @sean-esopenko thinks he’s found a bug fix solution.
@100th-coin thanks so much for your experienced feedback! We have much to think about re: skipping past the level showing on replay and then also just the general mechanics/idea of the game. Maybe adding some towers and making it a tower defense-ish game would have been good? This would also require enemies to damage the player. Perhaps, if we continue to rework this idea and world after the LD 54 jam. I like participating in the james because its really good learning and community feedback experience. I'm excited to check out your compo!
@jcmonkey appreciate the feedback, thanks!
@nadia-pixel if you’re using a Mac, it’s a known conflict between Godot 4 and Mac
@simonlarsen Haha yeah we are working on polishing it up, post-LD! Youre supposed to dig graves so that the zombies fall into them. Its a big wild and unhinged heh
@sinclairstrange Thanks for your comment! We learned a lot this game jam (again) so we are tweaking some things and making it so that level preview can be skipped after seeing it once haha. Lots to work on with the concept!
@jdegs yeah, thanks! One of our artists is a machine when it comes to drawing. He is super fast, so we had lots of art to work with. That's a tattoo artist for ya haha
Hah, pretty awesome. I didn't realize I had to just click, at first! Good job!
Great concept! Very challenging but good!
The dialogue in this game reminds me of "A Short Hike", which is one of my fav games (its on Steam)!
- I was a little disoriented with the 3D of the game but eventually got used to it, - A mini map would be a nice touch
Otherwise, nice entry. The humor is great.
Pretty cute game. I was wondering why you opted out of graphics ratings, however? They are super cute! Some issues I encountered are:
- Bit of lag when moving around - like, I kept sliding even though I wasn't pressing any buttons, - No way to skip text, took a little long between reading and getting playing again (its okay, the text was funny!)
Thats about it. Nice!
