Looks really cool! However, I can't play the game because the frame on the itch.io page doesn't seem to be sized correctly: Screen Shot 2022-10-02 at 4.10.31 PM.png
@lancival - try a different browser / CTRL + 0 to reset zoom?
@cassowary - astounding work as always! An excellent all rounder again, both gfx / music and a deceptively simple premise that had my coffee addled brain stumped by the third round. Bonus points for actually programming a game  :v: Very cool! I look forward to people posting their speed-runs
@lancival Huh, that's really strange. It looks correct on my end. What browser/OS/etc are you using?
@cassowary I'm using Chrome, but changing the zoom level doesn't affect the portion of the game visible.
Ahh, I've tried embedding it on ldjam.com and I'm able to reproduce the issue there. Please hold for technical difficulties... haha
@lancival Okay, I've uploaded a fixed version to itch which I believe should solve the issue. There was a bug with the code in charge of drawing the loading screen, weirdly enough. Let me know if it works for you now!
@cassowary Thanks, it works now! Can't wait to play!
Really awesome puzzle game. It was weird on the first level with one way streets the . would not advance time.
wow, absolutely stellar work! I only got as far as level 5, so far (When I saw there are 1-way streets I laughed out loud and decided I needed more sleep if I was going to get any further here). But I can't wait to come back to this tomorrow and see if I can get through all the puzzles. (also, everything in this game is cool but I feel like I have to shout out the background music - I love that you included a little section where the instruments play in reverse. Nice touch!)
@paroxysmal yeah, I made that a restriction on purpose (I think it's explained somewhere in the following couple levels) because otherwise it became kind of easy to just 'cheese out' everything (e.g., move forward one space, flip time backwards and wait one tick, then flip time forwards again and repeat... you can move basically anywhere without advancing the clock.) So forbidding waiting on one-way streets means you have to move forward several steps at a time when you're on one.
@nicholas-maddalena for the in-game background music, the reversed audio is actually dynamic -- the background music plays backwards when time is reversed in the game. But yeah, I couldn't resist putting a little backwards section in the title screen music as well :>
Wow I didn't even notice that about the music - very cool!
Very clever game mechanic, with an extremely well polished realization, congratulations !
I had a minor issue while playing with an azerty keyboard, the period key didn't work (we have to hold shift to make a period, I think this is the issue). Also, at first I had issue to understand what happens when time paradox occurs (illegal move situation), I saw afterwards the message at the bottom, maybe you could make it more visible ?
Anyway, it's a wonderful entry, congratulations again !
I already know this is one of my favorite games this LD, and I've barely started rating.
I don't really have anything to criticize. The main game mechanic is clever, fun and clearly explained, everything looks nice and polished and the music is easy to listen to.
Can I just have some more levels please?
Great job
This is a really cool puzzle game, but some levels are way above me. I only got to level 8. The time mechanic is really neat. Are there new mechanics at the later stage ?
I will try to finish this later when I am more awake.
Thanks for the game :)
@zwodahs There aren't any more mechanics introduced after level 6, I think -- after that it's just various puzzles with the stuff that was previously introduced. Thanks for playing! :)
I love this game. 10/10 would play again
Very cool implementation of the theme, great work
I definitely need to come back to this game after the post-jam fog has left me. This is a super smart puzzler that I really dig the vibe of. The time paradox idea and watching previous iterations of myself collide after I make it away safely makes me think I'm probably sacrificing other iterations of myself to make deliveries which having worked at an Amazon warehouse is accurate. I really really like this
I've been looking forward to your entry ever since I saw you drop your first images on the feed!
Lovely simple art, mindwarping puzzles well designed, a soundtrack that matches the aesthetics, and mostly, a TON of fun! Another great submission by you once again, thank you!
amazing entry, nice job.
I enjoyed the graphics, palette, concept and execution but I am terrible at puzzle games. haha
Very unique entry, love your pixel graphics. Solid entry, good luck!
really nice idea! some puzzles are really challenging for the feeble mind like meeself, 5 stars :stars:
Really fun game! Graphics are really polished and the premise is awesome. Watched your progress updates and was excited to try it out, worth the build up!
I like you game. Thats a realy cool idea for "every ten Seconds". Nice Idea for the music ti revert it too. :D 5 Stars in all categories!!! Great work!!!
I've never seen a game mechanic like this. Really creative! Graphics and level transitions are so cute too. Great Job!
Super super interesting ideas here! I found it really hard to reason about the state of the puzzle for any number of steps in the future, but I never really felt stuck on ways to solve any given problem. I think it might suffer a bit of a step-dependence problem where the difference between an invalid and valid solution is just waiting one step or something, which is really hard to sus out while trying to solve it. I really really like the concept though, I think with a little more help to the player on reasoning about the puzzle it'd be amazing!
it's really fun~ but stage 11 was cruel it killed me in instant replay and i can't go to next stage lmao
edit: i tried it again and it didn't glitch out anymore so i'm at 12 now~
edit edit: oh i get it, it has to do a last run check to see if the route is valid so its not a bug its a feature lmao i retract my statement right up my ass

This looks cute and the music is great, but the gameplay keeps freezing after I get back to the start on stage 1. Am I missing a go forward key? It won't let me press R to reset or Z to undo either. :crying_cat_face:
Edit: It works fine on Firefox. It's Chrome where it won't go past stage 1. Playing it now :smiley_cat:
Had a lot of fun and the puzzles were well designed! Felt amazing when I finally figured out level 7 and watching that instant replay is so satisfying. Congrats on a great entry!
Okay, I finished it. This was really fantastic, other than not working past stage 1 on Chrome! My only complaint is that sometimes I got confused as to which one of the present-time cars I was. I know there was an arrow over the player truck, but it just got lost in all the noise. Maybe the "real" player truck should be a different color than the two?
This was really cool and super smart! I loved seeing all the different mechanics all working so well together. Awesome job!
Like others have mentioned.... Wouldn't go past 1. And I am on chrome. Interesting take that the 10 seconds only goes by when moving.
:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:
That's so cool!!! I totally get it. Even though there always be one car, you can create a negative car and a positive car without changing the total number of cars.
In fact the positive car and the negative car offset only happens when their phases are aligned. You can show this by marking the times on the cars.
This is definitely the coolest game I have ever played in this ludumdare
@purpledartfrog that's no good! :( it works for me on all the google chromes I have access to -- if you press F12 and select 'console' at the top, is there an error message shown when you try to press a key to go to the next level?
Level 7 broke my brain!! Love the idea! At the beginning of the Jam, I was thinking that a puzzle game could be a good idea for "every 10 seconds" but I couldn't come up with a cool idea. This just hits the spot. Cool art, nice sound, simple idea that gets complicated quite quickly!! LOVE IT.
@cassowary Thank you for pushing back  I did another run - it worked perfectly now.... This is an excellent job. My brain just had to get into the actual flow. My favorite entry so far. Very good job. Adjusted the ratings accordingly.
oh good!! glad to hear it!
(if anyone else in the future faces a similar issue, do let me know if you see an error message in console so I can debug haha - it seems like a rare/inconsistent error but it'd be good to fix!)
Finally, one game which be... applies the rule in different way. Pretty creative, adding time rewind to gain more time.
Wow! Super innovative idea!
really cool entry and a smart take on the theme. this game reminds me of that one xbox one pixel art game were you could reverse the time and play with your past character
Really effective and innovative puzzle game ()! My brain was a little too small to finish everything, but enjoyed all I went through! The art and music are superb and fit the game great, but I *loved* the puzzle design especially! I'm giving a round of applause to whoever created these puzzles, they made me rack my brain in the completely stumped but still stubbornly continuing kinda way ()! I couldn't make it past level 9, but I admired the thought that was put into each area of the game!
*Suuuuuper* well done! Keep it up!
I love it! Quite a fun puzzle game. The art style was quite fitting. Amazing entry!

That image came out of my mind when I was playing your game. Aliensrock need to play this, the first time I saw the plot twist in level 3 I questioned my own sanity, that's how good it is !
The reverse music and reverse arrow direction was pretty cool too !
The highest I could go is at level 11, got stuck at the ending when one of my clones goes into me. I had no idea how to counter this.
@stingby12 hahah, that's awesome! glad you enjoyed the game!
Really nice game! It was fun to learn the machanic, get the feeling that I got it and then fail :D The graphics and sounds work really nice and the gameplay is fun. The theme is also integrates into the game in a thoughtful way. Great work!
hsdsg.JPG it is really hard!how can I pass this stage?

Hello. A very interesting idea. It was fun delivering packages. Need to work on the difficulty levels a bit. After the first two very easy levels, there is immediately a difficult level with time switching. Further, the complexity grows even faster. Plus, it is not always clear where a copy of the machine will appear. Graphics and music are top notch. Good job.
What a delight! This was an absolute highlight of Ludum Dare for me.
On one hand, I'd love to see more of this, but on the other hand, it's so concise and fully-realised that I don't think there's anything you can add without diluting the experience.
Absolutely brilliant work.
This game is too smart for me, but I love it. Super interesting and creative, and I'm impressed that it's so polished being a Compo game. Amazing!
Love those puzzle games. It took a while for me to understand it, but once it clicked, it was a breeze. Not that easy, but very manageable!
This is the best game I've seen so far, no doubt. Such an interesting, original and mind-bending idea, and really well executed. Beautiful art and nice music (although tbh it was a bit grating after a while!). Would love to play this as a fully fleshed out game - especially if you could develop puzzles with a single solution and hone in on that "moment of revelation" or whatever. Great job teaching the basic mechanics as well, and goes without saying - perfectly tied in with the theme. Also really cool to hear about the source of the idea and the one-electron universe! GREAT.
My brain probably melt in the process of playing the game and understanding it, but as soon as it clicks in your head, it's one of these AAAH AHH moment! Crazy concept, good implementation, and the fact you managed to make so many levels is a feat in itself. Good job!
Oh I'm not build for this kind of puzzle games, I got stuck pretty early. However I do appreciate the concept and the mood of the game. Good work!
heyy 10th place!!
