Ball Keeper by JCMonkey 2020-04-20T02:46:06Z
Nice game. Good graphics and very fluid gameplay and controls.

Nice game. Good graphics and very fluid gameplay and controls.
The start should be a little smoother with the first skeleton being further away to let the player get use to the controls. Overall good
Great graphics, gameplay could use more...well gameplay. Good job though great atmosphere.
Very fun game and a great entry.
Great art and gameplay. Enjoyed it alot...and apparently avoided the crash.
Giving the sprites just a little idle animation would go along way. Overall I enjoyed it. Great job!
Very nice controls. Simple graphics but convey their meaning very well. Good job.
Controls need to be sped up a bit. Good concept that could use a bit more polish.
Cool concept and like the dithered graphics. The thumbnail zoom was awesome too...heh
@wilson-taylor Yeah it did...I kept moving the mouse over trying to figure if its one of those 3d photo effects...but figured out its just the way the dither is being refreshed.
Window opens then just closes :(
Very awesome. This would be cool with a multiplayer deathmatch mode.
My guy just ended up strung out on redbull with no fitness...would play again.
Cool take on the endless runner genre
Hmm...not sure if there is more than just watering the plant and if I need to come back tomorrow. Intruging and interesting.
Thanks for the feedback. The balance was an endless experiment in tweaking. A few things I would do is make the armored rollers be killed by one missle instead of one bullet and missle, reduce the difficulty ramp, and widen the arena.
Nothing like the zombie right on them and waiting for the reload. Intense, good music, sound.
Great game. Like the dot matrix screen style graphics.
Relaxing...after a stressful 2 days.
Great pixel graphics, good puzzles. The Linux build worked fine for me.
Very nice pixel graphics and controls. Would have loved to play it with some sound effects...but overall a great entry.
Controls are very floaty. The balance is a little off with slimes being right at doors when you enter. Just a few issues on a game that shows promise.
Good entry. The controls to simulate having only one hand is a nice touch, but it is slightly disjointed with being able to move super fast once you get a handle on the controls.
I like the high resolution pixel art. Was kind of confused on what causes a game over...like if the ball has hit points or if its the amount of collision. Overall a good entry. Ran fine on Linux.
Love the art style. Would have like to be able to roll forward and backward. Great job.
Very good...that water area kicked my ass.
Others have said it...but wow. Love love the art. Would be nice to have a bit of a tutorial, but overall a great piece of work.
Not sure what is going on. I couldn't seem to attack a mummy and the collision was janky. Need more feedback from the game on what is happening.
Love the way you did this concept in a kind of first person view. Also the way you draw the cave in is awesome. Very cool..great job.
You sure you did this in 48 hours? Very well made!
Love the graphics and animation. Saw your blog posts and made sure to check out the finished game. Great job.
For 10 hours pretty solid entry.
Love the pixel graphics and great controls. Good job.
Love the pixel graphics. Really well done.
First Unreal engine game I've seen. I was confused by the green objects and jumped into one since green "usually" is a good thing...I was wrong. Overall good entry.
Fun game...it would freeze up if I played fullscreen but was fine if I didn't. Good art and sound.
Overall good...are there keyboard controls to move the drill, it was kind of annoying having to not laser to move.
Very cool. I like the playstation style graphics...and good controls.
@pixelportalz Looks like you are missing a dependency...not sure what package you would need to install it. Here is a html version https://morokiane.itch.io/buried-deep
Web version should be fixed now. Thanks for letting me know.
@chiyeon The collision can miscalculate if you hit the wall at the right angle and speed. I was able to replicate that...never happened in play testing unfortunately.
@retrome Thank you for the feedback...much appreciated.
@turquoise-moon oh wow...that was an oversight on my part. Spikes don't have collision and I didn't place the blocks to stop the player under them.
Love the graphics...and the concept. Good job.
Great entry. Liked the line art, sound and the more philosophical approach to the theme.
Great game...I'm a terrible sub driver...but would play again.
The itch.io site is 404.
Fun little game. A few critiques wasn't sure what the items did. The yellow stars increased that giant number 98.000345 up a few ticks...maybe make that a more understandable integer instead of a float. I'm guessing the green arrows increased my damage and not sure what other stuff did. Graphics and audio were good. Good job though...it is a good entry
Controls are very tight which is good in a game like this. Good pixel art also. Great job.
Very charming little game with good pixel art and particles. I did make it to the Thanks for playing so its nice to see it does have an "end"
Very nice game. Sometimes the attack didn't go off on the first press of the spacebar. Great entry.
Linux zip has Windows executable.
Linux version had sound but no graphics ever showed up.
Awesome game...good controls and pixel art
Very cool. Few things...it'd be nice to be able to make it a bit bigger...from straining on the eyes though I do like the graphics. Good SFX, music. Balance is a little off, the obstacles should come sooner as by the time they showed up I had so much fuel and fuel space I could go anywhere I wanted with no worries. Great entry and bold having only a Linux build.
Cool little puzzle game with interesting mechanics...nice work with the isometric view. The grappling hook sound gets a little grating after while with its high pitch. Great job though.
Meter seems a little sensitive or my character was just really hammered. Great concept and game regardless.
Great entry and fun to play. Love the animation of the explosion.
As a note the MacOS version doesn't work, this tends to be an issue with Godot, that a Mac version has to be compiled on MacOS. I tried to run from source but it has missing dependencies.
Good job on the graphics, love the character models...its rare to see 3d graphics since they take a lot of time. Well done on that and the animations. One thing to consider is weirdos like me who like FPS with inverted controls...really hard to play otherwise. Overall good job and welcome back to LD!
Note on MacOS. The Godot MacOS versions won't work out of the box unless its compiled on MacOS. A way around this is to clear the attributes from the terminal by running "sudo xattr -cr No\ Room\ For\ You\ Demons.app"
Good entry. It was a little frustrating falling straight to my death..I think a little bit more time for the platforms to disappear would help. Good job.
Very fun. The one thing I would like to see is being able to control the camera with the keyboard. Great entry.
Think the links may have broken out.
When I started, I thought the game was way to easy...but as your city grows it get interesting as you don't have the money and have to hope your buildings will survive. Great entry!
Good old fashion puzzle game. This is a cool spin on it...a few puzzles took me a bit to get. Well done.
Love the graphics. It was extra challenging as I am one of those FPS players that like inverted controls...so that would be my one critic is to add that option. Great entry.
@syg Basically you have the potion in your backpack, by jumping and landing you are jiggling that potion causing it to become unstable. Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it.
I like this, nice simple graphics but fun trying to hurry and get another container to counter balance the ship. Great job.
That was...uh...interesting. Really enjoyed slamming Tex into the clouds with his dog headed butt.
Very cool. I could see the next step of the game by having another player. Cool concept for a a couple of game styles that has been out awhile.
Very cool and fun. I like the concept and the unstable block...especially when going through the other parts where you have to decide if you can go to the next safe spot or not. Good job!
Nice game. Really liked the sfx. Fun to play.
I like the concept. I think it would be better with more user feedback like meters on the servers showing their load, I spent a lot of time clicking on things and wondering if anything is going on. Overall good entry.
Great entry. Don't really like the uphills. Would be nice to be able to speed up.
Certainly a difficult game, but it is a nice use of the theme. Good graphics and overall a great entry.
If Nintendo made Mario Captcha Party
Interesting take on moral dilemmas and existentialism.
Good graphics and fun gameplay...would be nice to have some sound. Well done.
Pretty cool concept. Very interesting the art was done in PowerPoint, never thought I'd see that as an art platform of choice. It would be nice to have more player feedback, such as showing which buttons I've pressed. Good entry overall though...well done.
Love the graphics and art style...reminiscent of Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strat. Once suggestion would be make the "voices" a less harsh sound.
Good entry, really annoying when you get the edges of the play area though.
Good entry, I'm on MacOS so playing on the Web version the frame rate was pretty bad. Tank controls take a bit of getting use too...but solid entry nonetheless.
Absolutely love the art style. Cool concept..great entry!
Good graphics, controls and sound. Having to shoot the clock to get more time is a nice touch. Great entry.
Great entry.
Love the graphics and gameplay. Great entry.
Very good...easy to start hard to master. Like the graphics and the physics. Well done.
Overall good entry. Feels really really sluggish though...I think it'd be more fun if it were sped up quite a bit.
Very well made. Good entry.
Great game...reminds me of one I played like this on C64. Great sound and nice slow-mo effect on running into a rock.
Good to see another TIC-80 game on here besides mine. Like the design and the controls are good. The sound could use some love, it doesn't match very well with a pickup and the music gets grating with the constant high pitch ding. Overall good entry though.
Great take on the theme. Like the graphics. Great entry.
Fun little game with very nice graphics. It'd be nice to see something added for the core mechanic, like draining people of all their blood. Good entry.
Solid entry, the gameplay loop seems to just run to outlets in a circle as they go out. It would be more interesting if they were randomized or would go out randomly to incentivize collecting the tokens.
Great cute little puzzle game. Good timing on the level design getting to platform right before the water overtakes you. Great job.
Great graphics. It would be nice to see what my final kill count was on the the game over screen though. Great entry...well done.
Great game. Graphics are great. The controls are a little weird at first and not all that intuitive. Overall though a good entry and well made for being a compo!
Woo another TIC-80. Great game, love the graphics and good sound and music. Great entry.
Itch.io version doesn't seem to work. Will try later when I have access to an emulator.
Enjoyable game, love the graphics. Great entry!
Nice use of the theme and great little puzzle game.
Good entry.
Great concept...would be interesting as a mobile game.
@turkey Thanks for the feedback. Yes the potions will continue to extend time in slime form.
@boaromayox Thank you for the feedback. I'm not sure why you are having trouble with the Mac version. I developed it on Mac and tested the build version. I did not test on an Intel Mac, but it shouldn't matter as the engine is made for Intel and not M1. Thanks for bringing that up, I'll look into it when I get a chance.
Edit: Tested fine on an Intel Mac so I am not sure what is happening with yours.
Good take on the tower defense genre. Liked the graphics and camera movement.
Awesome game. Love the graphics and the spells especially the fire ones. Great entry!
No idea what I'm doing...but the sound design makes up for it...kadong
Love the graphics and the movement is good. Good entry.
Love the art and very philosophical on existentialism.
That mouse sensitivity is certainly high, need an option for change that and also to invert the mouse y. Seems like a solid entry, but does need a few tweaks for playability.
Good entry. Controls are tight which is good for this type of game. Well done.
Overall good. I like the tone, but I said no to all of them. Immortality is a curse that we think we would want, but really it will eventually break us, because at the point, what truly is the point of living? I think it would be an interesting thing to explorer in a game like this...than just the percieved positives.
Did not realize you can't click on the buttons to select what to put down. Good entry though.
First Pico-8 game I've seen. Good graphics and sound and balanced gameplay. Well done...great entry.
Love the graphics and a good take on Asteroids.
Cool concept. The balancing of tasks gets a little rough when no choice is a good one. Great entry though.
Welcome to Ludem Dare. Awesome job on your second game and this one. Great entry.
Cool concept and good entry. Would be nice to have a way to invert y on the mouse.
Great entry. Annoying though when the package is against the wall.
Love the graphics and good sound. 25 levels seem like too much with out any new mechanics introduced...great entry regardless!
I'm pretty bad at pizza delivery. The grappling is hard to get use too. Good entry
Really awesome puzzle game. It was weird on the first level with one way streets the . would not advance time.
Love the graphics and sound. Its a little frustrating having to stand and jump to run out of power for things to decay only to not make the jump and have to do it all over again. Great entry regardless.
Good entry.
@frib Thanks for the feedback. Time got the best of me and I just didn't have the time to solidify the user experience.
Good game...attacking feels really meh even with beating on the mouse button. Good entry.
Cool take on the theme.
Very very polished. Fun and stressful (in a good way)
Good entry...hard but fun
Awesome to see a TIC-80 game. Cool concept. Got the hang of it after a few plays. Good job.
Difficult. Nice graphics and sound.
I keep losing and don't know why. Like the graphics and good music.
Great graphics and sound. Would be nice if there was more of a tutorial just outlining what we're suppose to be doing.
Like the graphic style. The flowers were able to shoot me through the wall though. Also very difficult for me to play as I play FPS with invert y mouse. Good entry regardless.
Very cool fun little game. Well done.
No idea what to do or how to do it...but at least its looks good. Great graphics.
Great artwork very cute and charming. The only real criticism is the music gets a little repetitive. Great entry regardless though.
Graphics are super...very well polished game. Great entry
Good entry. Having done a gameboy style game I had to check this one out. Was unsure on if I could move the cursor or it is always at the top. Well done.
Good take on the classic snake.
Love it. Some really challenging puzzles.
Interesting concept and experiment. The game control wise is difficult and hard to get into.
Cool take on the theme. Seems people should die after falling off of a tower I wrecked though. Great entry
Nice little puzzle game. Easy to learn hard to master.
Nice take on minesweeper.
@xamora Sorry forgot to list that key. Its the left shift to exit the shop. @ivorius Thanks. All the button call out in the game are for controllers and don't reflect a keyboard key.
@jcmonkey Always someone that has to go getting stuck in the levels. ;)
@szieberth-adam Sorry to hear about the HTML version. I uploaded a new patched version for Windows that fixes the issue of not being able to start the game.
@avi Interesting issues. Left Shift exits out of the How to Play and the Shop. I have certainly underestimated the amount of people that play with the keyboard. I'll make sure it isn't an after thought in the next jam.
@cloistered Left Shift exits the shop
@arowx Flubber in the shop once crafted will let you double jump.
You rock but I have some gas.
Very good. Hit boxs are a little to tight where the object has to be right on the end of the stick. Good job.
Nice little game with good graphics and sound. Wish there was more to do.
Very good entry. Liked the graphics.
Simple, fun, and a cool story. Real enjoyed it, well done!
Very cool. Good graphics and sound.
Very cute...like an updated Minecraft. Annoying for me to play though without a Y-invert for the camera. Great entry though.
Loved that bird gets heavier and the bag fuller as you pick up more stuff. Great entry.
Very retro feeling graphics and good sound. Hard for me to play without a Y-Invert for the camera. Great entry regardless.
Good entry, like the graphics. Simple and fun.
Quite difficult without having some type of example of how the language correctly reads. Do like the graphics and sound though.
Great graphics and sound. Pressing the start button full screens the game though. Well done.
Pretty standard SHMUP. Good graphics and sound. Do wish on the sound front power up pickups had some type of sound when you got them. Good entry
Very well made.
Very well done. I do wish I had better feedback on how my commands are going to execute. Like adding in a pause totally changes how the robot reacts even though it seems like it shouldn't.
Interesting take on a classic.
Great game...love the graphics and the design. Well done!
Solid entry, well done on your first 3d game jam.
@calicedev You will need to use a web browser based on chrome.
@bit-flipz Godot 4 has two different rendering methods. The one I used retains the pixel limit of the resolution. This makes it so graphics move and rotate like they would on something like the Gameboy that has a 160x144 resolution, even though we are playing on high resolution monitors.
@wolfier @toc All slices can be picked up...it comes down to the order, speed, and switch order.
Simple digital version of whack-a-mole. Good entry.
Interesting concept. Got up to 12 then it got to frantic.
Good entry. Awesome graphics, the controls fit flying on a broom really well. Fun little game...well done.
Good entry...certainly tests ones coordination with the keys.
I like the concept. Plane is a little difficult to fly...have to come back and practice.
The graphics are very good, they really have that 90's vibe to them, especially the title screen. If the sound is muted the game freezes once Michael stops talking and can't do anything beyond that.
Love the graphics. Little difficult to get into...a more interactive tutorial would help a lot. Great entry though.
Good graphics and challenging puzzles...well done.
Was quite unsure what I was suppose to be doing. Good graphics and sound but need more context on what I actually have to do.
Cool little pinball game. Do wish it had a few more obstacles and little more difficulty as the level progressed.
Always great to see your games. Graphics are on point. Sound and music is good. As others have said the dragging is a little weird and needs to be precise. Great entry.
As someone who has done a number of Gameboy type games this one is great. Great job!
@wouter52 Yep first 3D game...it was quite the endeavor.
@laserpanzerwal Thanks for the feedback! That slow down is on all platforms as I didn't have time to optimize the sfx when you take the lantern out...so all the wavs load and play across the map.
Like the graphics and good gameplay with the levels closing in.
Good game feels polished. It'd be nice to have some type of ping when you can place another torch. Great entry regardless.
Interesting concept and I like the graphics. Well done and good entry.
Very nice and fleshed out as a mini OS. Always good to see a Pico8 game. Good entry.
Nice take on Sokoban...simple by plenty of challenge.
Well done...reminds my of the good old games of Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master
Cool game. Like the concept of it. Does get a little to difficult later where you just don't have time to do the summoning.
Links are missing.
It's a little difficult when you can't see where you need to go on each side of the portal. Good entry though.
No idea what I'm suppose to be doing. Good entry regardless.
Love the graphics and palette choice. Good soundtrack also. Well done.
Not sure what exactly what I'm suppose to be doing. Along with some graphics issues.
Interesting take on the concept. Like the audio. Good entry.
Very cute puzzle game with solid mechanics. I like that there isn't just one solution. Great job!
Like the graphics, very Morrowind. Well done.
Invert Y would be nice to have.
Like the old school PS1 style graphics. Little confusing on how to play. Great entry though.
Better hints on how to draw things would be helpful. I never found the right way to get the patterns. Graphically and sonically good. Good entry.
Looks like it could have some interesting concepts if extended further. Great graphics.
Well done...nice chill music and good sound effects. It goes without saying but it was hard herding cats.
Good graphics...and as someone who enjoys puns the humor I can appreciate. After all I good pun is its own reword. Great entry.
Very well made. Good music and graphics. Would be nice to have some type of upgrade alters to make your demons i bit tougher. Great entry regardless.
Really liked this; good physics trying to get the bugs to sling over to the other lights. Great entry!
I liked the underground areas. I don't know what the reticle box is for, and it would be nice to hide the mouse also.
I would think you would want to guide the ducks away from the road...but here we are. Great entry!
I got to where I only had to keep one fish alive. Enjoy seeing Pico8 games. Good entry
Very well done and love the pixel art.
Love the graphics and sound! Well done.
Like the art. Good entry.
Fun game...I did not see how to check the health of my creatures though so it was hard to decided which upgrade to get as opposed to just going health whenever it came up.
Great entry, very nice graphics.
Well made and fun puzzle game.
Good entry. I like the concept and art. Reminds me of King of the Monsters and Rampage. Controls should be listed...got it figured out, but it would be helpful.
Good entry. It'd be nice if there was some type of indication that the start battle was pressed, thought the game froze at first. Well done though
Good entry, plants were a little annoying.
@void4 Thank you for the feedback, glad you are enjoying it. It is actually fine getting the extra Shot Time +. I was thinking of having it go lower, however I needed a buffer because if the timer goes below 0; it will crash the game.
@tyrannas @gdman Thanks for that feedback, I tested that and didn't run into that issue when I was testing. I will patch that when I get the chance since it can affect gameplay and decrease the chance of a successful run.
Really like the surprise. Loved the graphics. Great entry
Bien joué. Sometimes if I would click outside of the slingshot it would get stuck and just keep drawing lines and not launch.
Great little game. Liked that the hazards are skeletons
Interesting idea. Is a little simplestic, but well done.
Good entry. Interesting story.
Like the graphics and atmosphere. Wish there was a mouse-look invert option. Great entry.
Great entry! Like the management aspect and it plays really smooth. I am one of the odd balls though a prefer inverted controls for "FPS" games like this
Très bien. j'ai apprécié! I really liked the graphics. Controls took a bit to get use to, but great entry!
Well done. Kind of wish the level was a little longer and the speed up happened sooner. The most annoying thing was the when you did it just closes the game. Good entry though!
Very nice. On the very level if you have to go the buttons to get the pointer in the green, it did not register for me.
Great entry.
Very nice entry with good graphics. I do wonder the the book 'Really boring shit' is about.
Congrats on your first Ludum Dare. Neat little puzzle game. Having controls listed would be nice, even if it is super simple, took me a bit to realize they follow the mouse.
Love the pixel art, wish there was kind of more. Simple game but fun. Great entry.
Great entry. I appreciate the keyboards controllers weren't literally WASD makes playing on a French keyboard easier. Well done!
Grats on your first jam. Really confused on what was happinging, I'd be moving then suddenly giant game over spider? A & D seem to change the scene?
Interesting graphics and sound leads to a cool atmosphere. Well done.
Cool concept and I liked the picking mini game. Good to see a PICO-8 game on here. Good job.
Love seeing TIC-80 games. Well done a great entry.
I'm guessing there is no win/lose condition? See a lot of potential in a more fleshed out game. Well done.
Good puzzle game. Took a bit to figure out having to press Space to grab the bar. Great entry.
Great entry.
Fun little game. Great job.
@john-gabriel Thought I fixed that...guess not. Thanks for playing.
I like the concept of the game, but fighting the very floaty controls just kind of makes it not that fun. Solid entry though.
Good entry...not a fan of having to do so much clicking, but I do like the concept. Well done.
Really good controls and good gameplay. Good job.
Fun game and a good take on the theme.
Not a fan of that palette...but its a great entry. Very complete. Well done.
Good entry.
Interesting concept...feels like early concept of Flow.
Love the concept. Would be nice if you could dive onto the heads of the humans to stun them. Great entry regardless!
Love the concept! I did a similar design..hah. The character controller is pretty rough. Good entry though.
Good entry...well done for your first one...congrats on that! Was confused on how when other object drop. I seemed to always get the same ones and complete the quests.
Good take on the the theme. Well done.
Really like the gameboy ascetic. Well done.
Interesting take on "signal" took a bit to figure out the sound "bubble" to move people to a certain spot. Good entry, well done.
Good entry...I like trains explode, I saw that a lot. Well done.
Very cool, good graphics and animations. Too bad on the no sound. Well done.
Seems like its probably a cool game, but its really hard for me to play without inverted y. Well done though!
@metalgear Some of the first games I played were old CGA/EGA flight simulators like Chuck Yeagers Advanced Flight Trainer, LHX Attack Chopper, I was around 10 or so. so with a joystick I got use to inverted-y. When Quake and Unreal hit it was just natural for me to move the mouse back to look up and forward for down.
Well done.
Nicely polished...but didn't really get the mechanics. Good entry regardless.
Really like the idea. The level with the electricity was pretty difficult to get the timing right. Great concept though...well done!
Loved this. Has a very rhythm game feel. Great job!
Really needs a y-invert for the camera...and locking the mouse to the game. Otherwise good entry with potential to a full game.
Good for a demo. Need to be able to invert y though.
Like the pixel art, would have liked to see some walk animation though. Movement is a little to slow and I kept scanning but wouldn't find anything and not sure what I was looking for. Thanks for doing keyboard keys has the key location, hard to play WASD movement on French keyboards.
I kinda of wanted to see how far I could go since you have just keep going after the "finish"
As someone who has made a lot of games with a gameboy palette would have liked to see how that was going to pan out. Hopefully you can flesh something out.
This seems heavily inspired by something, but can't quite put my finger on it. ;) Very good take on the genre applying the theme. Well done.
Not sure what is happening, the first cell disappears after a few seconds and the whole game freezes.
