Love the character slight knockback with each shot ;) nice game!

Love the character slight knockback with each shot ;) nice game!
Nice idea and fun game! really enjoyed the experience. I just have something to ask - Shouldn't you die when you are right next to a wall and shoot a fireball in the opposite direction? I passed most levels by dashing in a way that I would be right next to a wall and then shoot fireballs in the opposite direction of the wall. The fireball radius wouldn't reach me and the pushback wouldn't work (i was already close to a wall so I wasn't "crushed").
Nice game! It was interesting to have to collect enemy parts and have them stuck to your ship  In my opinion, the camera should be further away. Sometimes i was getting shot by enemies I couldn't see.
The camera was also a little sluggish when moving in the middle of the arena but as a fellow programmer I know camera issues are sometimes hard to tackle  With a little research you will get it working perfectly!
Finally, I thought that my bullets were hard to distinguish from the background so I couldn't really aim! =P
Keep on the good work!
Hey! The idea is interesting but as @amastryukov said the controls were pretty unconfortable.
For me, the boat also takes too long to accelerate and too steer, although that could be easily tweaked.
Other than that congratulations
Congrats on the awesome game! It's really entertaining and challenging!
Congratulations for such a nice game! It took me a while to understand how it worked but then it's quite fun! I find it a bit annoying that you use left click for both dropping a carrot and for selecting quest bunnies and for choosing different carrots. That caused me to waste a lot of carrots in places I didn't want to drop them. Also once the bunnies reach their "obsession" mode, it's not straightforward to understand that they can no longer be clicked. Other than that Awesome!!
Nice game very well built! I just wish the music was more elaborate and maybe the camera a bit further? But great game all the same  Well done and keep up the good work
@hdtv Thanks for the feedback! Well we are both programmers and we did the best we could while focusing more on the gameplay =P Further ahead we would improve on the UI and making it clearer to the player about what's going on and the different stages
Thanks for all the feedback! @emil-sunesson ye we started developing some power-ups but as we ended up not having time for tweaking them properly we decided not to include them ;)
Ye the lack of gold attraction is constantly being pointed out as a problem we must work on that! Thanks for the feedback and we will work on making it playable with a controller as well.
@muffty Thanks for the feedback! We opted out because we are not the authors of the sound
Thanks @Hakunamacouta we will look into that!
Thanks for all the feedback! @daragongames Yes we have been getting that feedback a lot and we also intended to have Power Ups and loot attraction but we didn't manage to have it properly working by the end of LD sadly. @jlreymendez It could be harder indeed! We didn't have much time to work on that though :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: @xsior We are working on loot attraction and indeed they become hard to notice once chaos sets in
Thanks for feedback! We are working on that
@siepiau Thanks for the feedback! We will make sure to check your game
@nnnikki Thanks for the feedback! We will work on making everything bigger and more noticeable! I'm sorry to hear that you had problem with the menus. Did you have problems clicking the buttons or with the overall aesthetics? As for the theme the levels get harder the more loot you have (although that is not very noticeable - at 1 star enemies start to split when they die and you get a chest which can be shot at and lose loot and at 3 stars enemies start to periodically and randomly become enlarged and stronger) and also the more enemies, the worse it is (although we focused on the loot mechanic for the theme).
Thanks for the feedback! @meanmon13 I'm sorry to hear that you had problems with collisions. We will look into that and try to fix it!
Thanks for the feedback! @wizebin Now that you mention it you might be right! That has happened before and might be happening here. We didn't notice it and we didn't even consider it when making the movement. I'll be sure to check it out! Thanks
@youbestrong Thanks for the feedback! Indeed the difficulty increase is something that we should have worked more on but will improve in the future! I guess the intention was good but not perfectly executed
Thanks a lot for your feedback @pecolyte!
Nice game! Nice idea and good execution. I found it hard to dodge bullets and to get policemen to kill each other . I think that the player should move a bit faster or bullets move a bit slower (or both!) and it also seemed to me that the policemen only fired at you when they had a clear sight, which means they wouldn't shoot through other policemen.
Good Job and keep on game developing!
Great game! I only tried the LD version but it was a very solid entry. Lots of fun and with awesome mechanics ;) congratulations
Awesome! I especially liked the tooth marked pizza bites  congratulations keep up the good work  like others said, with sound would be almost perfect :stuck_out_tongue:
@balka @wolar and @sh1rogane Thanks so much for your feedback! No there is nothing besides the second level so far sadly :frowning2: We focused on making it work on mobile as well and ended up with no time to add sounds nor to work further on level design. That's also why there is such an obvious winning strategy. Ideally we would have had more interesting enemies and a little more progression even within the level (starting easy allowing you to place harvesters and ramping up to requiring lots of towers). Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!
Very awesome idea and really polished game! Well done
Awesome game!!! Very nice usage of theme
Very nice submission! The jumping is a bit clunky specially with the houses but the sacrifice mechanic is really good and well applied. Good job keep up the good work
Very interesting game! It still has a few bugs and aiming directly towards your mouse is aiming is slightly weird you could try shooting at a fixed height and only make that adjustment if you are aiming at enemies higher. Your replay characters also behave weirdly (I sometimes found enemies dying out of knowhere. Doors also block bullets even if open or it seemed to me. The trigger on which enemies see you also is a bit inconsistent. These are some things that I found that require some adjustments. Other than that it's a very solid entry  Keep up the good work guys and always keep improving!
Glad you liked it @pawel-w  Thank you for the feedback I'll get on it
@jmarkohun @fnissalot Thanks a lot for playing our game! Glad you enjoyed it!
@dyzzyd @cameron-borthwick Thanks for playing our game! Glad you enjoyed it, we enjoyed a lot making it!
Great puzzle game with interesting "narrator"
Hey congratulations! The game is really nice specially the graphics and audio were awesome! I just felt that the camera was either too close or the enemies were too fast or my ship was slow at changing directions. I just started moving in one direction as the enemies seemed to spawn less in the direction I was moving. Also the powerups didn't seem to do anything much noticeable :open_mouth: Overall a really nice game!
Hey @konh! Thanks for the feedback. We had still an unpublished game that's why we didn't have links yet. But now we do! So feel free to try it
Hey everyone! Thanks a lot for all your feedback! We really enjoyed this challenge and are really glad you enjoyed it  It's just a shame we weren't able to polish a bit more, specially the level design! Cheers!
Hey congratz on the nice game! Overall it was very good!
Haha awesome game and Sfx! That Blob Marley pun though, you could have used some sleep :stuck_out_tongue: Btw imo when grid cell on the edge were left empty and surrounded by blob (unable to be filled) they should become infected as well  Great game! Keep on it
Nice game! I was a bit confused on where to put the mutations and I didn't quite get what all the mutations did. Other than that it was a pretty cool game
Although not super related with the theme it is a really fun game! the physics and the different little man mechanics were awesome! Really nice job!
Don't get me wrong @minibobbo it was a very smart (mis)use of the theme! I found it really funny :joy:
The music was really good! Overall very well put together  Good job! The transitions between levels was also really nice
Nice game! Congratz
Thanks for all your feedback! Yes the end result was a bit too simple with a few more hours I could have polished a bit more both graphically and the gameplay. Saturday was spent doing a useless (for a jam) map editor and Monday I had to work :disappointed: I also wanted to make the green area decay with enemies and add flamethrowers to the enemies xD
@dob @heyycap The shooting was a bit off and some bullets missed the enemies :disappointed: @dob Instead of health bars I thought of putting the trees with different fire intensities but I didn't reach that point
@alkis I always miss the graphics and sound! Need to work on that and create a generic library for jams because sound makes all the difference
@vernalbehemoth My idea was inspired on Tower Defense because I love the genre! I always like to participate on LD and everytime I do I learn something new! Thanks!
@algebro Thanks for your feedback  I need to work on getting some art and sounds more ready to use as that is usually what I leave for last and end up not doing  I'm a programmer and I dedicated too much time to gameplay and other technical issues which I was really excited to work on :stuck_out_tongue: But this was a learning experience and on the next Jams I participate I know I will perform a lot better  Thanks!
@kostasvs @lestat Thanks a lot for your feedback guys! it was a great jam and I did what I could  I'll try and polish my skills, practice a bit on getting art and sound into a project and next time I'm sure the end result will look a lot more polished!
Nice game congratz! The idea was really nice! Would like for it to have more stealth like having to remain unseen or you would die. But it was great anyway  Keep up the nice work!
Nice game! simple but effective! My cat many times took forever to eat :disappointed: Not a very smart cat :stuck_out_tongue: Keep on it!
Very cool game! And just like in real life, after a while you just let your immune system finish the job :sunglasses: The aiming was a bit difficult (don't know exactly if it was the aiming or the bullet spread) but overall it was ok  Keep on it!
Congratz on the game! The idea was nice  I played it on the browser and I don't know if it could have affected my experience but the camera angle at the start was weird and I didn't exactly know what to do. After the monster moved for the first time I could see the game properly  For the future I would consider focusing on having a more stable camera at least because it was a bit jumpy from one point to another. Other than that it was nice keep on making games and improving this!
Hey! Very nice game! Nice gameplay and nice humour  Loved your weird character typing hahah It was a just the amount of difficult  Keep on making awesome games!
finished.png
Very nice game! The wife sometimes got super damaged which was sad as it made me lose faster :disappointed: The controls were also a bit strange but once I got used to them everything flowed easier  Congratz and keep on making great games!
Very interesting yet simple game! A game doesn't need to be complex to be an enjoyable experience and this proves it  Good job!
Nice game congratz! I didn't exactly got that YOU HAD TO TYPE the incantation but after I got it was really enjoyable  The sounds and graphics were cool, I only think the theme was not spot on in accordance. Typing latim (or whatever) was also an enjoyable added difficulty but for people not so used to typing I guess the game would be pretty hard. Keep on making great games!
Very nice game! Simple but effective! A few more sound and some different enemies/weapons would have been awesome (I know this was a jam my game was super simple xD) Keep on making awesome games! PS: Loved the bug where you could shoot 3 bullets into the air if you pressed left, top and right at the same time xD
Cool game! Very simple yet it kept me engaged to see what would happen next  I was hoping the Operator would do something though with being that mean looking xD
The controls could have been better and the stamina for sprinting wasn't really part of any challenge but only there to limit your speed of completion :disappointed:
Overall a great LD game!
Pretty neat game! The puzzles could be a bit more interesting and I failed to understand how to tell when the gravity would shift but I managed to finish the game either way :joy: Even if it is a one-tap game it's a pretty good one! I tried to make one for this jam and failed miserably hahaha
Congratz on a great game!
Yup same :sob:
Thanks! @cheesepencil @owca @verygenuinecraze
@verygenuinecraze I wanted to have made one or two more obstacles and definitely add sound but I was too tired by the end to push through and do it  Specially the sound I think would have made the game a far better experience
Thanks all for playing!
@zwodahs My initial target was having a one tap game but by the end I also felt it was too underwhelming. I actually considered having different inputs but didn't have time (nor will power) to make it by then  But thanks for the feedback, next time I try something like this I'll keep it in mind!
@jedemac Thanks for the feedback  At some point I was a bit conflicted on how I'd setup lighting but I thought that from behind it wouldn't make sense (in a laws of physics kinda a way). But I agree with you it's a bit weird seeing the character poorly lit :disappointed: Since this is a game and not a real world representation maybe I should have opted for your suggestion
@esosek @venezia Thanks a lot for your feedback  Yes I should have pushed a little harder in order to have some more variety and sounds at least but well, maybe next time  Also I will definitely give more thought to the design the next time I make something with so little input. In some games it makes sense but clearly on my game I could have used at least one additional input
The game art looks pretty cool  I just wish the attack animation had a bit more range and that enemies would chase you or something. But nice mechanics and dungeon generation
Overall very nice! The art and the levels were pretty nice  The mechanics were also good but the character movement and the falling rocks could be a little improved as I had some trouble jumping on some rocks :disappointed:. However nothing major that didn't allow me to enjoy the game  well done!
Cool game! Specially for something made in such a little amount of time :stuck_out_tongue:
I really loved the oh yeah and the music was also pretty good
Very solid game overall! It was really hard to control both at the same time though
Very cool game! I though the fish would hurt you at first but then I just sprinted through the game hehe :stuck_out_tongue: Very nice art and sound and gameplay was very nice with the submarine being just hard enough to control
Stunning visuals :scream: Did you make them all in 48 hours? :astonished: The game was pretty simple and the ending was a bit underwhelming but the mechanics were solid and the overall experience was pretty nice  Great job!
Pretty nice entry! Some sounds would have really been nice and after building a ton of turrets pipes and generators, the game became really slow  But the overall gameplay was pretty solid and the art was great! Maybe 2 smaller levels would have been more interesting than 1 that takes this long but hey, there is always next time to try and do better and better!
Very interesting game! Well done  I'm a really bad poet though haha
Wow such a deep game in such a short amount of time. Very nice, well done
Nice simple game well done!
Wow pretty neat game and very complete! I got stuck a couple of times because some interactions were not obvious to me (level 9 specially lol). The sounds and art were great! Although I think the obstacles are a bit hard to tell what they are. Cheers and great job!
Cool game! Very simple but it felt pretty complete  I wish we had a map of rooms already covered and that the commands weren't reset after each try but overall is a very solid entry! Good job
Pretty cool game with some nice sounds and effects  It is a bit easy and repetive but I know you only have time for so much :stuck_out_tongue: (Mine is way worse xD)
Very solid game! I chuckled at the end when you just drop into a puddle of lava haha
The jumping and movement could use a little more polish and the level design could be a little bit more interesting. Also the game was a bit dark and the background was too similar to the blocks which made it hard to see.
But considering this is a 48h game it is pretty cool! Well done :ok_hand:
Very cool game! I particularly liked the fan speed changing with the speed, the lights on the fishes and the global light decreasing as you passed levels. Awesome! It was a bit hard to get when you hit a border and sometimes if you were going to hit a fish or just pass by right next to it :stuck_out_tongue:
Maybe lighting the borders when you are close to them could be enough  I think bouncing back would be way harsher and feel clunkier. You solution is fine imo it would be just be a matter of tweaking some feedback :stuck_out_tongue:
Very nice game! I died the first time but then I got the hang of the mechanics and finished in 2 minutes :stuck_out_tongue: I liked the tentacles mechanic a lot to eat and the fact that they are your lives  Congratulations!
Wow simple yet great! I managed 82 words and level 27. Once I failed the first time I started failing a lot hahah :joy: I cannot handle the pressure :joy: The sound intensity increasing as you lost was a really nice touch, the tetris like idea was also pretty interesting and everything ran super smooth! Great job
Damn for a game made with SDL and all those tools in 48h I'm amazed  The take on the theme was pretty smart and the mechanics are also pretty neat  controlling the ship was a bit hard imo and it was strange that you had speed bumps and orbs on areas where you couldn't comeback from without hitting the walls. This only made sense to me once I realized that I would just be pushed up or down by the walls when hitting them  Very hard to control but for something made in 48 hours it was a great job!
Very nice game! Some jumps were a bit tight and hard to make right on the second level  Overall the jumping puzzles, the feel, art and sound were good and the game was fun  I was just expecting a volcanic eruption by the end but I didn't get one :disappointed: Great job!
Great game and great use of the theme! I liked the tension but damn are the characters slow :joy:
Pretty cool game and art! The movement felt a bit slow when moving vertically but overall a great entry with an excellent idea and execution. Good job! :muscle:
Thanks @tiny-pig!
Thanks for the feedback @rolly! Yeah it was a poor choice the diamond looking things as destructible crystals  I had something else in mind but didn't get to it :disappointed: As for the music yeah I really tried to have some sounds but I was too tired by the end and had to work the next day so I need to explore that next time!
@darandin @thumpertws @bit66 @ukulelefury Thanks all for the kind words, feedback and specially for having enjoyed the game  Also thanks for the sound tip @ukulelefury I will keep it in mind for next time :muscle:
@cogcomp @lisyarus Thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback! @lisyarus yeah one of the things I was most sad about was that I didn't get enough time to make the enemies a bit more interesting specially because you could just stay put and shoot them from a distance :disappointed: My next step was to add some simple shooting enemies so that you were forced to move. I bet that would make a lot of difference but next time I'm sure I'll be better!
@paroxysmal @jd557 @studio-vykanic thanks for the feedback! Yeah the crystals were a poor choice of design as they feel more like pickups :disappointed: And yeah it's easy to stay put and shoot everything, I'm really sad that I didn't manage to introduce a ranged enemy at least. But oh well next time it will be better :muscle:
@charred-axolotl @josh-riley Thanks for the great feedback! @charred-axolotl I actually hadn't though of limited ammo that could have been and easy addition that would solve the standing still problem as well  Thanks! I'll keep that in mind for future games  @josh-riley yeah the were a lot of problems with the diamond :disappointed: Actually some spinning or pulsing could have made it at least more understandable that it was special  I'll also keep in mind that crosshairs suggestion, you are right it would make a big difference and it's an easy thing to do
@reygis @idunnyx @brachistosauro @dan-smith Thanks for your feedback! :smile:
@teto Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yeah I had planned to have some sounds and make the enemies a little more interesting but I didn't have time so hopefully next time I'll do better :muscle:
What an amazing game! :astonished: I can't believe this was made in 48h hahah :joy: Nothing to point out I had a lot of fun and found it very nice in terms of art and sound, design and gameplay  Just wow! Great job!
Very cool game! The controls, art and sound were great! I just found it weird to understand the cost of new robots and buildings but after I understood that they had a relatively high cost I always saved a bit before building them  Great job!
Very nice game  Simple but effective :stuck_out_tongue: The sounds and art were nice and the game felt good to play. I just wish it was more explicit how to use the water. I mean, I didn't know when it would affect the fires and how close I needed to be... Other than that a pretty solid game for this little time
An unexpected yet so obvious and simple take on the theme  Good job
Interesting idea with cool visuals but the lack of gameplay makes if very little engaging :disappointed: The audio and mood were ok but it would be more interesting if we could unlock the "lore" by driving ourselves  Good work!
Wow pretty cool game! I didn't exactly understand the game at first but after I got the mechanics it was pretty engaging  very strategic also! But after a while it's up to the RNG god to give us the cards to freeze the water  Great game
Great game! By the age of 20 something I was paying to work :joy: The stepping sound was a bit too loud but it was a solid entry! Good job
Very nice game although with a bit of an heavy theme  but very nice mechanics, sounds and art  Good job!
Nice game! I just wished there was a bit more to do but the mechanics were solid, the sound and art were also great and it fit the theme very nicely  One of my spare tanks spawned almost inside earth though  Good job!
Very nice game  The vines were a bit weird (didn't hit me as I expected) but the sound, art and gameplay were all pretty good. The music was great and the mama dragon slowly closing her eyes was a pretty nice indicator for her hunger  Great job!
Interesting idea! As other people have said I kinda forgot what the controls did exactly by the time I started playing and I couldn't understand which of the lasers I was using before I pressed the mouse button. The collisions where a bit weird but overall it was a good game
